People who come to the cottage love it. It is rural but with access to OXFORD and other cities. The accommodation is spacious and the facilities good. We now have totally reliable Wi-Fi so everyone should be happy. The two single beds in the attic are air beds. People have found them comfortable.
Welcome to this spacious yet cosy cottage within the grounds of our family house. There's a large living room and kitchen area with a wood-burning stove which makes for a very comfortable atmosphere. You'll also enjoy a nice double bedroom as well as some loft space for children and teenagers. I now have two comfortable air beds. The loft is carpeted and it has basic furniture but is essentially a camping-style arrangement and would be unsuitable for toddlers. Having said that, young children have slept there recently with no problem. I can provide a travel cot for a baby if necessary. We have recently upgraded the wifi connection and it is now working perfectly. We live in a little village about 20 minutes' drive from Oxford. There is an hourly bus to Oxford from Stadhampton which is about a 20 minutes walk away. There are lots of walks and country pubs around, as well as some nice market towns like Wallingford and Abingdon. We're also very close to the Thames for river walks. If you have any questions or special arrangements, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help. The formal garden is off limits I am always at home at the beginning and end of a guest's stay and always contactable.
The cottage is within the grounds of our house but very private.
  • You'll do well to find a better host than Valerie! Great communicator pre booking, she really went out of her way to make us feel at home during our stay. The cottage exceeded our expectations in terms of privacy, comfort and size, our (teething) 7 months-old even had her own room up in the loft! The surrounding orchard was quite a sight in the autumn light and a few decent walks are possible in the area although a car is certainly recommended. We hope to be back some day!

  • Me and my children spent two very relaxing days in this wonderful sorrounding. The very cosy and comfortable little house is well equiped and lies in a calm agricultural region. Lots of nature BUT pubs and shops nearby with everything you need. Valerie was a perfect host and always after our needs. The communication with her was perfect and I would love to stay at her house again if I should once be in this region again.

  • The grounds around the accommodation are stunning. The accommodation is lovely, clean, warm and very comfortable. Valerie as a host was totally welcoming and on hand if we had needed anything. I highly recommend a stay here. Thank you Valerie!

  • The cottage is in a rural location. Valerie made us feel very welcome with a few staples bought in like bread rolls, milk and orange juice. The cottage was as described and plenty of room and fitted out well.

  • Valerie's cottage was absolutely beautiful. Very secluded and peaceful - just the place to relax after a hard day at work (or Legoland!). The kids loved the upstairs space and made it their own little room for the stay. The cottage is beautifully furnished, absolutely pristine and in a great location. Valerie was a great host and made sure that we had everything we needed. Cant recommend highly enough and will definitely visit again should we be in the area!

  • We were made to feel welcome at this lovely cottage, as soon as we arrived. The cottage is situated within the grounds of a lovely house & garden. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in Oxfordshire and looked forward to returning to this clean, well appointed cottage every day. I would recommend Cosy Garden Cottage to all.

  • Stayed two nights, me and my girlfriend really enjoyed it. The cottage is really cosy and homely. Valerie was very forthcoming and let us stay even though it was on very short notice. She gave us a really friendly welcoming and I would definitely stay again.

Enjoy the tranquil view from this comfortable, well insulated chalet-style cabin. This is an ideal resting place after exploring Oxford's historical centre. Full cooking facilities, fridge, shower room, tv and internet connection. Breakfast provisions normally provided but if not, we offer a reduction of £5 per person per night. Sleeps two.
This pinewood chalet is spacious, with everything you need to hand. As well as an extendable table inside, you can use a little table set out on the decking - ideal for those lazy summer morning breakfasts.
We are in a quiet residential area to the east of the city centre.. If you have time, we can show you the way to access a beautiful country walk just 5 minutes from the house.
  • Very beautiful house in a quiet and safe area, and it takes no more than 20min to the city center.Brenda and her husband are really good hosts, they made everything well prepared including breakfast and fruits:)Great experience indeed!

  • It was wonderful renting from Brenda and Manuel. The cottage is charming and cozy. Brenda and Manuel went out of their way to be helpful.

    Amy2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Brenda and Manuel are lovely with great advice how to explore Oxford. The garden cabin is like on the pictures plus breakfast. Very nice!

  • Me and my girlfriend had a lovely stay with Brenda and Manuel in their garden cabin. The cabin was very clean and spacious and with an added bonus of breakfast being provided. Close to the city centre (via bus) and would highly recommend! Also, our hosts were really helpful and gave great tips for Oxford

  • My wife and I had the perfect getaway in this cozy cabin in a tranquil garden. It is just the right size - a comfortable bed to sleep in, a kitchen to make ourselves breakfasts and a simple dinner, and a large enough sitting area to wind down over a movie. There is a separate entrance to the garden so we were able to come and go at our leisure. Location-wise, this is a bit away from the city centre but well-connected by bus and an inexpensive taxi ride away. Brenda is an amazing host, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. She gave us information about the bus, recommended a taxi service (which was really reliable), and pointed us to restaurants and walks to do. We would gladly go back again to this little slice of quiet and peace.

  • I had a lovely stay at Brenda and Manolo's cozy garden cabin, both of them were so warm and welcoming and extremely helpful; this was my first time in Oxford and they were happy to give advice and even dropped me off at the perfect spot for a nice walk! The cabin is beautiful and my lovely hosts even provided some breakfast staples and fruit. It's all the little touches that made my stay super enjoyable and I can't recommend them enough.

    Marthe2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Made to feel very welcome, Brenda & Manuel very friendly, approachable & helpful. Providing selection of breakfast cereals, teas, coffee, bread & fruit. They have wide range of brochures, information on Oxford & local transport. The accommodation is very pleasant, clean, comfortable, with all necessary facilities and set in beautiful garden.

    David2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the cabin! It is very comfortable and well equipped. And having our morning coffee in this beautifull garden gave us a real holiday feeling. Brenda and Manuel are great hosts! They provided us with bread and some other breakfast essentials (thank you very much for that). They are very friendly and welcoming and also very interesting people. Their suggestions and tips brought us to some beautiful places only locals know and we are really greatfull for that. It was also good for us to have a parking space for free near thier home as parking in the city center cost 4 pounds for 2 hours !!! We enjoyed our stay very, very much and if we`ll go to Oxford once again their place will be first on the list to book.

  • The Annexe was a wonderful place for a long weekend, the only downfall was we wasn't there long enough. I would strongly recommend staying here.

  • Stayed while on business trip as alternative to a hotel. Beautiful place and would happily return with my wife for a weekend away. Sparklingly clean, stylish and very well thought out.

  • The annexe is a wonderful place to stay and very well equipped. The log fire and jacuzzi are particular highlights! Set in the very tranquil countryside, it was a great place to relax and unwind. You will need to drive to get to the nearest town. We visited Thame which is about 3miles away for some good walks and food. Rebekah was a great host and answered and questions and sorted any problems very quickly.

    Kathryn2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Maybe the most beautiful holiday house I have ever been to. Everything was perfect with lots of lovely details. Rebekah is a great host with very quick and helpful answers.

    Nadine2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The Annexe was the perfect place for a couple of nights to relax after our wedding. The whole place is finished to a very high standard and is it really gave that luxurious feeling. We enjoyed everything the annexe had to offer especially its rural setting. There was plenty of wildlife and the red kites were amazing to watch from the hot tub. The bird feeder which constantly had birds going back and forth all day and was a delightful to watch as well. We visited Oxford, Thame, Marlow and Henley on Thames. I would recommend any of these places to visit. We were always keen to get back to The Annexe though as it was so nice. Will definitely look to revisit one day.

A contemporary guesthouse set in the the garden of an Oxfordshire stone cottage within walking distance of Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons. We bought the house in 2013 and completely renovated the cottage and annexe. The previous owner was Richard Curtis who wrote Blackadder, Four Weddings and a Funeral and the Vicar of Dibley whilst living here! The interiors are fresh and contemporary
As the photos show, we have a small space where there are coffee and tea making facilities and a Nespresso machine. We will leave milk, cereal, croissants and jam for a light continental breakfast the following morning.
Great Haseley is a very pretty village with a good community owned pub, The Plough. Please note it does not serve food on Sunday nights. There are some great footpaths and fields for country walks. The Vicar of Dibley was written in our house and was loosely based around some of the characters in our village!
  • This was booked as an easy retreat after lunch at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons to celebrate my husbands special birthday. What an amazing lunch we had there and fabulous stay afterwards at Sasha’s delightful guesthouse. As a host Sasha had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable, we found her an unobtrusive and thoughtful host. The place was very stylish, with a luxuriously comfortable bed and great shower. It’s in a great location, tucked away in a pretty Oxfordshire village very close to Le Manoir. This was a very pleasant stay, couldn’t have hoped for better - we hope to be back one day. Highly recommended!

  • Sacha's lovely guesthouse is the perfect place to stay if you have a reservation at Le Manoir. Sacha is a charming and helpful host and I would recommend staying here if you are visiting the area.

    Susan2018-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We just spent a week at Sasha's beautiful and peaceful place. This delightful cottage tucked away in a quaint English village was the perfect place to rejuvenate and relax. The cottage is decorated to the highest standards. You can sink into the bed for a great night's sleep with its luxurious linens and comfortable bedding making one not want to even get out of bed. The cottage windows open out to an enchanting garden and the only noise heard are birds happily chirping in the trees. The local pub is a short walk away and the village is pleasantly endearing, worth taking a few minutes to explore. We have traveled to many places in Europe and stayed in quite a few Airbnb's, but we have never found such a hospitable and welcoming host as Sasha. She is there to answer questions and her desire is to make your stay memorable. If we did not live so far away, we would schedule trips several times a year just to breathe in the country air and to enjoy this tranquil retreat. Thank you Sasha, for making our trip to England unforgettable. Your extra touches and care made our vacation one of the best we have ever taken.

  • Beautiful cottage, fantastic little find we stayed here after lunch at Le Manoir. The extra touches like breakfast amenities were lovely!

    Jodie2018-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely overnight stay in accommodation that is bright and spacious with lovely touches. Quick and clear communication when we were unsure where to park. Perfect for eating at Le Manoir, as it is a 15 minute walk away. Lovely surrounding countryside, a map was provided and we went out for a run/walk in the morning. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

Wonderfully light and spacious, surrounded by greenery, the flowerbed shed is out of the ordinary. With comfy bed , kitchen essentials, en suite outdoor shower (hot!) and composting toilet, it's a charming retreat just 7m from Oxford .
You have sole use of the space, with a grassy seating area to the side, where you can use the ( small, tabletop sized) barbecue. A little veranda faces the orchard, upper garden and main house, here you can soak up the last rays of the evening sun. Cooking facilities include a double electric hob, electric kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge. ( There is a sink unit with a cold tap, but hot water for washing up is either from the shower, or the kettle) The 'outdoor bathroom' is en suite and quite unique. Although sheltered, it is partially open to one side giving you a fantastic view of the field when you take a shower. A composting toilet is beyond the shower, ultimately providing wonderful nutrients for my flower garden! The bed is a comfortable double, there are arm chairs and plenty of table space. Guests are welcome to use the washing machine and dryer, situated in an outbuilding, for a small additional (£5) charge. The shed is often used as an art studio and is exceptionally light with direct afternoon sunshine in the summer. There is wifi which is supposed to be 'super fast', but it can be temperamental from time to time.
Toot Baldon is a quiet, friendly village with a wonderful gastro pub called The Mole Inn. ( 5 mins walk). The next village, Marsh Baldon has a beautiful village green and another popular pub, The Seven Stars ( 10-15 mins walk) It is advisable to book a table in advance for either of the pubs as they can get very busy, especially at weekends. Both villages have historic churches. The nearest supermarkets are Liddl, Tesco and Sainsburys, all 5 to 10 minutes drive away. Oxford city, famous for its magnificent colleges, is 7 miles away . It's a very lively, university city with many leisure activities….theatres, cinemas, river cruises, punting, historic buildings and much more!
  • We spent two wonderful nights at the Flowerbed Shed. Lizie was a wonderful host. We would gladly revisit.

    Karina2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • The Flowerbed Shed was absolutely wonderful. It was cosy and quiet, had everything we needed, and was a perfect getaway. Toot Baldon is cute to walk around, and there's a Park and Ride to Oxford not too far away. Also, that shower ranks as one of my top ten favorite showers of all time, if such a list exists. A wonderful place with a kind and pleasant host.

    Elisabeth2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • I wholeheartedly echo what other reviewers have already said about the Flowerbed Shed - it is absolutely beautiful, inside and out, and a perfect peaceful retreat. Lizie was very easy to communicate with before I arrived and extremely friendly and welcoming. I was doing some research in Oxford, so used the Park & Ride, which is just ten mins drive from the village. It was lovely to know that I had such a relaxing hideaway to return to each night. I wish I could have stayed longer!

    Jenny2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lizie’s property is beautiful and the shed is cute and super cozy. We had a lovely stay!

    Mark2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • The peace and quiet, the glorious garden and setting. Super comfy bed. Lize very friendly and helpful.

    Daisy2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • I really recommand the flowerbed shed. Our stay was very peaceful. Lizzie was very kind and came to pick us at the bus stop and drived us at flowerbed shed. The shed was in the beautiful garden. It was very clean and cosy. There is all we need for cooking or making tea. There was one room for bed, living room and kithen, then it makes it very confortable and friendly. The shower was very hot (maybe too hot?) but it was a great experience having a shower outside in front of a beautiful landscape. The most weird thing was the dry toilet, no flush makes me thought when I lived that i have forgotten something haha. Our stay was too short and we was sad to leave. If you want to have a retreat, i recommand flowerbed shed. Thank you Lizzie for your kindness!

    virginie2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Flowerbed Shed is so much more, it's an oasis, an escape into tranquillity where you can simply rest and relax. The place has everything you need and oh my goodness... The shower! I want one. The garden is beautiful, the surrounding area and walks are lovely. Lizie is a wonder star. Welcoming, warm, friendly and helpful, she makes the stay so much more with her hospitality. What a great place and a great time. Thank you. We will be back.

Private Studio with Own Access - Studio 1, The Coach House
The Coach House has two studios on the first floor, and both are on Air Bnb. Studio 1 is slightly smaller although it does have a larger bed- a king- and there is also a futon in the room too, suitable for one person or a child for an additional £7 a night; it's one open plan space. There is a fully functioning kitchen so you can cater for yourself, with a fridge, oven, hob, kettle, toaster and microwave. There is also a washer/ dryer. We have a small tv which has freeview. The bathroom is clean and modern with a shower over the bath. Although we are close to the motorway, you can't hear the road noise unless you leave the windows open. We are in a very convenient place for travelling to both London and Oxford, Bicester Village and nearly Thame. Nearest train stations are Haddenham and Thame Parkway (13 mins away, into London in 40 mins) and High Wycombe (20 mins away and into London in 23 mins) We welcome dogs, at an additional charge of £5 a day that is not included in the cost shown. We have cats and chickens running around the garden, so we ask you to keep dogs on a lead although there are fields next door and lots of nice walks! You are welcome to use the table and chairs set aside outside for the Coach House.

The Studio is close to Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, in fact it's less than a 5 minute walk! My place is in the heart of the stunning Great Milton village, strolling distance to the local pub and shop. We are a perfect base for exploring Oxfordshire including Oxford city centre as well as other landmarks like Blenheim Palace and the famous Bicester Village for shopping, all within 30 minutes drive away.
The Studio is a newly developed apartment above our garage and everything within the space is brand new. Underfloor heating keeps the studio cosy and warm. The luxury bed is kingsize with plenty of pillows, to guarantee a comfortable nights sleep. The modern high gloss white kitchen is kitted out with all the mod-cons including a Nespresso machine and complimentary pods. It also has a fridge, washing machine, oven and electric hob. We are situated in the village of Great Milton, a quiet and beautiful village yet only 5 minutes from the M40. The village has a local shop, pub and large recreation ground with a park for children. We are two minutes stroll to the Bull Inn our friendly local and also a short walk to Raymond Blanc's famous restaurant and hotel 'Le Manoir'.
  • Situated in an idyllic Oxfordshire village, this excellent studio apartment is situated very close to le Manoir aux Quatr' Saisons which was just what we wanted as we were visiting le Manoir for a special anniversary meal. The apartment is very well appointed, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Thoughtful touches such as bread, milk, tea and coffee and the use of an extensive library of DVDs. Hayley is an excellent host who provides first rate accommodation. Would definitely recommend to others.

    Roger2018-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect if you are going to Le Manoir just a short walk away ,no need for taxis .Very clean and comfortable Hayley is very helpful. Would stay again & again Gary and Deborah

  • Hayley made us feel very welcome on arrival and everything was lovely in the studio. beautiful picture postcard, village location but only 5 minute drive to motorway junction.

    Gaynor2016-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Very well located independent Studio room with full privacy and equiped with everything you would need for a short stay. Hayley was very flexible for our check-in and check-out. We very much enjoyed the DVD collection in the room, and Hayley leaving everything for toast and coffee in the morning.

    Nicolas2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night in Hayley's loft after having lunch booked for us by our sons in Le Maison de Quatre Saisons. The accommodation could not be better situated being literally just round the corner from the restaurant. Its a great little apartment fully equipped with everything you need and was spotlessly clean. The bed was particularly comfortable. Many thanks.

    Howard2018-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great studio flat, with everything we needed for a two night stay. We were attending a relatives birthday lunch at the manoir, and the accommodation was a short walk away. As we have a small child we spent two evenings in the studio and were very grateful for the extensive dvd selection. Hayley was friendly and helpful and supplied a travel cot and highchair for our one year old.

    Anna2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the studio. It was spacious, private and peaceful. The studio was about 5 minutes walk to Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons which was ideal for us! We recommend staying at this property. Thank you to our gracious host.

    Denise2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful space. Hayley has put everything in there that you could need. It was so peaceful and quiet and the bed was so good we got the best night's sleep we had for ages. The pub is OK and close by, 10 minutes drive to the park and ride into Oxford and Le Manoir is a couple of minutes walk away.

Holton is a pretty village, ideal for those of you who want to visit Oxford, The Chilterns & Cotswolds. Located next to the village of Wheatley which offers pubs serving food, a supermarket, shops and post office it's a 15-20 min walk or 5 minutes by car Oxford Centre is just 15-20 minutes away by bus-car.
  • We used it as a base for short drives to blenheim palace, bicester and oxford. You will need a car to get there, else it will be quite a walk, but if you do have the car then you'll definitely get more from staying here than somewhere more central. We stayed for a night, it exceeded expectations, and if we didn't have to return the car and go back to work the next day, we would've liked to stay another night. The hostess is warm and friendly and her house is....magnificent. Her breakfast the next morning was splendid, and we thought she wasn't charging enough for what she was providing.

    Adrian2016-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very spacious and quiet room, nice shower and cosy snug for a bit of telly. Good public transport to Oxford. Very family friendly places all around and we especially loved Waterperry gardens!

  • Large beds in spacious room in big and comfortable, quiet house. Super shower and private car-park. Nice detail were adapters for german plugs. Because room is in basement, as written in description, it has nearly no daylight. For one night or if you just sleep there, this is ok. Good breakfast in Sarahs big comfortable kitchen. Sarah was very nice and flexible and helped us with information, good communication.

  • I highly recommend this airbnb. The house is beautiful and the room where we spent the night was very spacious, comfortable and clean. Anthony and Sarah were excellent hosts, very friendly and hospitable. The breakfast was fabulous and we were offered plenty of various options (cereals, toasts, croissants, juice, tea, coffee... ). Finally, the house is very close to Oxford with easy access to the city. I cannot recommend it more! Hope to see you again! Sandra and Jorge.

  • A lovely quiet location and so close to Oxford. Sophie was incredibly friendly and timings for breakfast were very relaxed, which suited us. The room was huge and the en-suite shower was brilliant, especially the power shower. Everything was there that we needed in the gorgeous family home.

    Clare2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Anthony's place! The house is beautiful and he and Sarah were wonderful hosts. Breakfast was well-stocked in a lovely kitchen. No concerns and would highly recommend.

  • Sarah was hospitable and looked after us well! The room was clean and comfortable. Although we had a slight issue with the toilet on the first day, that was promptly resolved the next day. Great, secluded quite location - only 20mins drive into Oxford city centre.

  • a beautiful house with a lovely annexe that was, thankfully, wonderfully cool in this heat! Apartment was clean and tidy and Jane was a friendly host - the croissants and fresh fruit were a really nice touch and brilliant as we'd not thought to bring anything for breakfast! The location was a bit out of the way of t he centre of Oxford but that's my fault for not checking properly. The location is stunning with great views and a beautiful countryside setting. Thanks Jane!

  • The College Farm Annexe is a perfect little hide-away in the countryside of south-Oxfordshire. Beautiful location in the midst of nature. Jane is a very welcoming host, the rooms are immaculately tidy and provisioned with all the little things (tea, biscuits, fruit, dishes, handsoap etc. etc.) to make you feel like you're at home. Thanks Jane!

  • There were good and bad things about this stay and it’s hard to review. Changes after booking meant that I was not given the self-contained annex described in the listing, but instead was offered another room inside the main house, which I accepted because it was only 48 hours before arrival. There were some minor issues with cleanliness - nothing you wouldn’t expect in a shared house, but I had expected my own space. On the plus side, the room was pretty and comfortable, and there were some nice touches - gorgeous flowers on the windowsill and eye/ear protection provided, for instance. The bed was very comfy and the sheets and towels and bedroom were clean and pleasant. The view from the window was lovely, and the village seemed OK. Communication with the host was pretty good - Mav responded quickly via Messenger to (quite a lot of) messages. Now the bad bits... The listing stated I would be met by the host, but I met no one at all. Check-in/out was a bit of a nightmare tbh. The house itself was hard to find. I couldn’t view the check-in guide from my iphone (which may be a site issue), which was a real problem because check-in arrangements were very unusual and complicated, including needing a padlock code for an outside gate I couldn’t see in the dark! I was very uneasy, as a single woman traveller, letting myself into a strange, apparently-empty garden and house alone in the night, and felt really unsafe being asked to leave everything open and going to bed with no locks between me in bed and the street! It was also very unsettling then to hear unexpected voices in the night (‘a’ flatmate who was out and due back later had been mentioned, not others who were at home). In the morning, I also found myself locked IN to the house, unable to get out, and it look me quite a while to find another exit via a neighbouring garden gate. All in all, I felt so unsafe that I didn’t come back the second night. If the host had described the different accommodation, sharing and access arrangements in the house fully, I would not have booked it. But someone who knows what to expect, and is more comfortable with strangers and more relaxed about security, might really enjoy it.

  • Jo’s place was amazing. This is a quintessential English cottage and we had the entire space to ourselves which included one master bedroom, a room with bunk beds, kitchen, dining, and living room. We even got to sit on the back patio to enjoy the garden. The space was clean, quiet, only about 30 minutes from Oxford. Jo was also a great help getting the heat turned up in the place and she brought over a bag of groceries for us to make breakfast the next morning. Definitely recommend!

    Amanda2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very special place. We received a really warm welcome from Jo and her family. It was great for our toddler who enjoyed tottering down the corridor and pottering in the garden. It is also all on one level. The double bed is very comfortable and light streams into the beautifully furnished living room on a sunny morning. Jo also provided a yummy breakfast.

  • Everything fine, very friendly people, room spotless and comfortable, reasonably spacious too. Good also to have a private cloakroom. Jasmine contacted me in advance re breakfast, was happy to accommodate my needs! Would recommend. One bit of advice - next door is house no. 18A - this was the first house I came to & the "A" was tiny, hard to see from the car, so easy to get the wrong house!!

I live in a village, five miles from Oxford, a beautiful rural location, the house overlooks fields both at the front and back of the property. The pleasant bedroom has a comfortable double bed for single occupancy and is available for females. There is a large built in wardrobe and a chest of drawers. It is at the back of the houses so very quiet, overlooking a large garden and fields beyond. It is next door to the bathroom, which is shared only with me. Guests are welcome to help themselves to tea and coffee in the kitchen and I supply a light breakfast of cereal, toast, marmalade and jams. I am on hand to supply information on the local area but I do respect guests privacy and I do value my own. I have a house cat and I have my daughter's friendly dog most weekdays, which never goes upstairs. Guests are encouraged to enjoy the garden in the summer months. There is an off road parking space at the front of the property. The surrounding area is very attractive with country walks starting from the door and several good pubs a short drive away. I am happy to supply information on these. There is a bus service into Oxford although the last bus from Oxford is at 7 p.m. so not ideal for guests without a car or bicycle. Thornhills Park and Ride is 10 minutes by car, where you can catch the bus into central Oxford and buses run frequently from there to London. This is a great location not just for Oxford but for exploring the Chilterns and the nearby attractive market towns of Thame, Wallingford and Watlington. The M40 is only 10 minutes drive away and Warwick and Stratford-on-Avon can be reached within an hour. Woodstock and Blenheim Palace can be reached in 30 minutes by car.
Guests can use the kitchen to make drinks and for breakfast, which I supply, large garden to sit in and enjoy in the warmer months
Close to Oxford which is just 5 miles away. Ten minutes drive to the park and ride with frequent buses to Oxford and London. Several good pubs within 4 miles of the house. Easy access to the Chilterns and country walks from the doorstep. There is a bus service (T1) into Oxford from the village but the last bus is early evening.
  • I stayed at Sue's for one night and would have been happy to stay longer. Her home is a delightful space, sparkling clean, homely and the room is a nice size with a view over the lovely garden, very peaceful location just outside of Oxford. The bed was good and I slept very well. Sue was a welcoming host, offering breakfast and useful tips. Extremely good value, would highly recommend.

  • Incredible views, beautiful setting. Very clean and well equipped hut. Lovely place to stay, only sad we couldn't stay longer and enjoy the views.

  • We liked the high up bed and the fairy lights and the woodburning stove. It was near to The Crazy Bear which was handy. The eco toilet was surprisingly clean and nice to be in.

  • One of the best Airbnb's we've stayed at. You don't miss electricity or a proper kitchen when you have an idyllic place like this. A great escape from the city and yet so close to Oxford. We enjoyed every single second of our one night stay and I don't remember the last time I've seen this many stars. The wagon has a lovely interior and everything we needed. Also received great local tipps from Kate. We'll definitely return!

  • Lovely quiet cosy hut in a peaceful location

    Malgosia2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful shepherd's hut -it beats a hotel room any day! Really quiet scenic location and really detailed instructions on how to find it. We got stuck in traffic and arrived two hours later than planned but Kate really kindly brought us some beers for when we arrived. Very close to Oxford it was just a shame we couldn't stay longer. I'd recommend to anyone visiting the area.

  • A very comfortable, stylish and clean unit. It suited our needs perfectly. Great hosts. Friendly, welcoming and helpful. Lovely backyard space to relax in too.

  • Not a great experience, book two nights very short notice, WiFi was so poor it was unusable on all devices unless you stood in the hall, my partner left at 4am on first night due to being bitten by something in the bed! Asked for refund for second night but host refused! Didn’t spend second night even though paid for as life is too short!

  • We were attending a wedding nearby. The annex was spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable.

  • Craig was away when we stayed so we was welcomed by Linda instead. She was a wonderful host who was very welcoming upon arrival and was available at all times during our stay. The property was very clean and in a quiet residential area close to the wonderful Oxfordshire countryside. The kitchen was especially clean which we made use of during our stay. We would not hesitate in staying again and would recommend to anyone!

Described by friends & visitors as 'memorable' and 'distinctive' our home is a pleasing hotchpotch; from the quirky use of colour to the displays of furniture & curiosities sourced from local auctions. The original part of the house dates from the 18th century with later additions; the private guest area being in the original but now converted Barn part. If you're looking to stay in a boutique style B&B you may prefer elsewhere otherwise a warm welcome awaits in this much loved family home.
We are under 10 minutes walk from Raymond Blanc's legendary two Michelin-starred restaurant Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons. If you fancy a lovely eccentric country house with a meadow, a paddock, an orchard, a vegetable garden and a pond near Le Manoir then this is the place to stay!

Dikler's Stable is newly converted and equipped. This self-contained cottage has one bedroom and a dressing room/office. It is the perfect weekend getaway for those looking to explore Oxfordshire or just retreat to the countryside. Tucked away in the pretty Adwell Estate and adjacent to fishing lakes and trees, this is a lovely spot. Just two miles from Exit 6 of the M40 it is incredibly convenient for London, High Wycombe and Oxford. The Oxford Tube bus stop is only 10 minutes away and takes approximately an hour to London and half an hour to Oxford. The living area is cosy and light looking over the orchard with TV and DVD. The eating area is next to the kitchen which is fully equipped with stove, kettle, toaster, microwave and washing machine. Up a spiral staircase is the bedroom with double bed and plenty of space. The dressing room/office has room for a travel cot if required. The en suite bathroom has a bath with shower attachment, sink and lavatory. There is parking space and a car is recommended.
  • Thanks so much for making your place available. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and we very much enjoyed the quiet and peaceful time. Dicklers was very comfortable and cozy and we would highly recommend it.

  • Great location away from it all in a lovely countryside hideaway. Bathroom is a bit challenging when it comes to showering but this is more than made up for by the rest of the charming accommodation.

  • Beautiful place in a magical little village on a beautiful estate.

    Natasja2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • This quiet spot is conveniently about 2 minutes drive from an M40 junction and therefore very easy to find as well as being only 20 minutes into Oxford. Tom and Imogen were perfect hosts. They gave extra directions because I was arriving after dark, made sure I'd arrived safely and visited to make sure everything was OK, and even called me a few days later to check. It is a very tiny but newly refurbished barn/cottage - simple, but very clean and comfortable with (critically for me) good WIFI as well as lots of hot water and excellent heating. I was very happy there. I would recommend stopping off at Watlington for supplies (you pass through it on the way) where there is a good Co-op. Meanwhile the Leathern Bottle (5 minutes, Lewknor) has excellent wine and a good choice of food.

  • This place is perfect for those seeking for a rural retreat with cottage stay experience. It is situated in a quiet farmhouse with plenty of greenery and a pond behind the house, about 2 mins walk. We were on honeymoon, so they gave us a bottle of wine and a handwritten card, very sweet and thoughtful. There were a few issues on the first night like the tv signaling and WiFi was not working. But it was fixed immediately the next day after we feedback, efficient service by the host. There were also a file with useful information like nearby restaurants, etc on the table. The thing we didn’t like was the toilet, because the ceiling was short, so we had to sit in the bathtub to shower, unable to stand and shower. The toilet and kitchen basin had 2 separate hot and cold taps (very traditional kind), so the water is either freezing cold or very hot, however, the shower taps was ok, because we could adjust to warm water. The house had a few spider webs in various corners but I think it is normal because it is in a rural area, so bound to have a few bugs and spiders. Overall, it is a good stay, we enjoyed the different rural experience.

  • Beautiful surroundings and spacious converted stable on an estate. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed the blissful location. Definitely recommeded for anyone wanting a country experience.

    Claudia2017-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little barn conversion in spectacular grounds. Lovely to be able to walk around all the lakes in the garden, especially in spring... watch out for the swan! The house was clean and beautifully decorated. Kitchen, tv & Wi-Fi all great. Shops and essentials within a short drive, and the stay is convenient if you are visiting Oxford. We enjoyed meeting and chatting with our hosts. Thanks for sharing this wonderful property!

  • We had a lovely weekend in Merino. A wonderful shepherd's hut, really nicely fitted out. The log burner was perfect when the weather dropped to 4 degrees! We had lunch in a local pub which was tasty and nice to walk to across the fields. Would recommend to anyone looking for a cosy weekend retreat, though we would happily have stayed for much longer.

  • Kate was a lovely lady and was very helpful when we struggled to find our way around. She also recommended lots of things to do and see in the area which was nice. The place was set up in a really pretty meadow surrounded by green fields which was beautiful. We sat and had dinner outside watching a beautiful sunset- was an amazing getaway & would recommend to anyone who likes to be around nature. Having a fire was a nice touch in the evening too. Thank you Kate!

    Jessica2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my night in the Merino Shepherd's Hut. Was a little worried with the low temperature about how warm the hut would be, but the wood burner was above my expectations and the hut was so warm I didn't need blankets at times. Kate was prompt replying to any questions I had and a few great local pubs made it a great night. Would highly recommend this place!!

Apple Tree Studio is a cosy, private, self-contained studio, which can comfortably sleep a couple, possibly with younger children (on request). It has a super king bed, space for extra mattress and travel cot, private bathroom and kitchenette. It is a light, airy and relaxing space, in the garden of our family home, located under our beloved, old apple tree.
Apple Tree Studio can be found in the beautiful, peaceful Oxfordshire village of Stanton St John, which has connections to New College, Oxford University. The village boasts a well-stocked village shop, two pubs (The Talkhouse and The Star), a playground, church, village hall and Rectory Farm - a 'Pick Your Own' farm which is open throughout summer, complete with cafe, farm shop, children's play areas, and amazing strawberries! Apple Tree studio makes an excellent base from which to explore or visit the city of Oxford (a 10 minute drive away) or visit Biscester Village, whilst being able to come home and relax in the bucolic Oxfordshire countryside - it really offers the best of both worlds: a peaceful retreat, a stone's throw from Oxford.
Stanton St John is a peaceful Oxfordshire village, just on the Eastern edge of Oxford City. It is a friendly place with good amenities.
  • We had a lovely stay at Caroline's place. We met Pete, Caroline's husband who was very helpful and friendly. The accommodation was very clean and spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the studio was much bigger than expected. Would recommend The Talk House restaurant which is just a short walk away.

  • This is a beautiful place, very close to Oxford. About a ten minute drive to a very reasonable park and ride. The place itself is truly stunning. Tastefully decorated with great touches. The bed is HUGE and very comfortable. The hosts are lovely,a very sweet family. Apparently close to some good golf courses for those interested. Only complaint is we only booked one night and would like to have stayed longer.

  • Charming cabin in the garden, extremely spacious and well-equipped enough for self-catering. Very comfy bed and nice powerful shower. Idyllic location at the end of a road with public footpaths and the open countryside right outside the door; lots of tempting treats available from the village store 3 minutes walk away. Warm welcome from Caroline (and her Mum!) … we felt very at home here.

We have an excellent pub in the village - the Plough, owned by the community. It serves local ales, a wide selection of wines and is open for food most lunchtimes and evenings. There are also plenty of other good eating places within a few minutes drive.

The bedroom and my bathroom were a good size and beautifully renovated and presented. The house still had traditional features but with a modern finish. Breakfast included was a nice change from my usual AirBnB experiences, with Jo offering a wide range of options. Parking close by was excellent too. I will definitely be coming back to stay again!!

Beautiful Grade II Listed Thatched Country Cottage near Oxford City Centre (6 miles). Sleeps four guests in two bedrooms (one king-size bed and one standard double bed). Located in the rural, peaceful Oxfordshire Hamlet of Waterstock, with good public transport link to Oxford City Centre from the end of the lane. Bus stop is opposite the Fox & Goat Public House in neighbouring village, Tiddington (Bus route number: 280).
The nearby Fox & Goat Public House is a delightful country pub serving excellent beers, wines and home-cooked food :-) I will provide pure white cotton bed linen to both double beds and fresh fluffy towels for every guest. I also provide a lovely welcome hamper with breakfast basics and a bottle of wine or fizz. I am available on the phone and can help with any requests, problems or queries but other than that you will be left alone to enjoy the peace and quiet. With a welcoming smile, Ali xx
Waterstock is a peaceful, rural hamlet. Enjoy a gentle pace of life whilst still having Oxford City a short drive/bus journey away.
  • Orchard End is a lovely peaceful cottage in the Oxford countryside but yet only minutes away from major motorways which was very convenient for us to travel to different parts of the country for graduations and seeing family. We enjoyed the birds and the garden a lot. The furnishing in the cottage was very minimal. The initial kitchen supply was rather basic that cooking for a family of 4 would be very challenging. Upon requested, Ali let us have more kitchen utensils so that we could cook, serve and eat family meals together and properly. The beds were comfortable but there was only one 2 seater (old & half broken), a few chairs and a little wooden box in the lounge so not quite enough for a family of 4 to sit around comfortably; a real challenge when we were watching England playing in the World Cup. The garden was lovely but again lacked furniture, so we had to move chairs in and out of the cottage if we wanted to sit outside. Internet was temperamental due to the countryside effect. We were away a lot during our stay so we just made do.

  • You might 'love' a modern apartment in a bustling city, or a stay in a posh hotel, but you'll fall IN love with this house. You'll see my fingernail marks along the lovely plaster walls where I had to be dragged out, sobbing, when our stay was over. This is a truly unique stay in a house that has perfectly blended everything that is redolent of its history with the modern features you need to be comfortable. So, for instance, the original beams throughout but a beautifully sandstone-tiled and underfloor-heated bathroom with a powerful shower and full size trough. I could, and would, write an essay on how beautiful this house is, from its private garden to its quirky wooden floored bedrooms to the lovely upstairs bath, but no one's going to read 1,000 words. Have a unique experience every minute you're here, go to bed to the sounds of the countryside, then do it again the next day. When you want to go out, there's a small Waitrose at the services 5 minutes away, an Asda about 10 minutes' away in Wheatley (go to Yehana's cafe while you're there!), the slightly larger town of Thame about 15 minutes' away, or everything you could possibly need in Aylesbury about 30 minutes up the road. But whereever you go, you'll wnt to come back to this house. And never leave.

    Rex2018-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great week with our kids in this lovely cottage and the truely beautiful neck of the woods called "Waterstock". It felt very special to stay in a cottage from the late 13th century. We loved the unique combination of well preserved and restored ancient structures with modern elements, e. g. in the bathrooms. It's utterly charming atmosphere captivated us immediately and it really had everything we needed: we found the kitchen well equipped, the garden very relaxing and the several sleeping rooms and bathrooms were making our stay very pleasurable. Thanks again for your great hospitality and generosity, Ali, and your uncomplicated way of promptly responding to any of our requests (including access to the kids' splash hour :-). There are so many things to do and see in Osfordshire, downtown Oxford is a short bus ride away and even London is within comfortable reach for a daytrip. We would thus recommend without reservations a stay in "Orchard End" to any couple or family wishing to combine a unique and bustling Oxford with a true English coutryside flavour.

A picturesque detached log cabin, situated in the grounds of the main house offering a relaxing stay and semi rural location yet just 3 miles from Oxford City Centre and 1 mile from the BMW Mini Factory. Bicycle or car would be essential as there is no longer a bus service through Horspath. Ideal for a visiting professional or holidaying couple. Furnished and providing all the essentials for a short stay.
The accommodation comprises: a fully insulated and purpose built open plan living space with timber floors and walls with 3 sets of double doors and large windows with views across the decking and garden. Double bed and wardrobe, sofa and flat screen television, kitchen with storage units, worktop and electric hob and oven, sink and drainer, refrigerator, table and 2 chairs. Shower room with shower cubicle, circular glass sink and WC. Outside there is an allocated area of garden for use by the guests. Please note that there is no washing machine but a laundry collect and return service is available.
Situated just outside the main village centre, Horspath is located on the periphery of Oxford, just outside the Eastern Bypass and close to the BMW Mini Factory. The Summerhouse is set back away from the main road behind the main house and there is an allocated off road parking space. There is a local shop and newsagent in the village and an Indian restaurant / public house, the nearest supermarkets can be found at Tesco in Cowley or the Co Op in nearby Wheatley. There are several popular village pubs that we can recommend in the surrounding area.
  • An unusual but delightful place to stay. So quiet and waking to the sound of birdsong each day was a joy. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

  • The chalet was as lovely in reality as it appears in the photos. What the airbnb page does not show is its lovely location on the edge of endless fields that head off south toward the Chilterns. I was there at its peak May moment and it was fabulous. The family in whose backyard the chalet is were completely accommodating and friendly and the chalet had all the amenities one might want. Nick is also there any time you need him. I fully recommend this place.

  • Good quiet place in the country. Owners live adjacent. Interaction is actually with professional agent who is helpful and communicates quickly and reliably. Good place for working, with good wireless connectivity. Recommend for productivity. Owners responsive to interaction yet leave the guest at peace if needed. A recommended place in Oxford area, though you will need a car.

  • Second time here. A lovely retreat, refuge from Oxford on the edge of lovely countryside.

  • Lovely secluded place, very comfortable and close to amenities.

  • The Summerhouse was just what I needed after a long two weeks of international travel. The place is just as pictured... open, light, easy, quiet, peaceful. Really well built and designed. Waking to birdsong each morning was an extra bonus. And Nick was a great host, willing to be available as needed, and giving me tips on where to take long walks (which I did) up Gidley to Sandy Lane pastures and woods, etc.

  • Comfortable and cosy - a very nice place to stay for South Oxford visits.

    John2017-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Nick was responsive and informative. The place was as shown and a great location. We were happy that his place was available! If you find it available for your timeframe, do not wait to book!!

  • I had a great stay at Jane's. The house is immaculate and welcoming and the location is fantastic - just a short walk into Thame town centre which is packed with great shops, pubs and restaurants. Jane could not have made my stay more comfortable. The room has all the required facilities and the bed is very comfortable. Jane’s breakfast was also great. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here and will certainly visit again *****

  • Super private room and friendly lady. Telly in room. Own bathroom. Lovely village.

    Sue2017-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Jane was a wonderful host, the room and bathroom were immaculately clean and tidy, with many personal touches. Everything went really smoothly, Jane was easy to communicate with and very helpful. It was a real pleasure staying at her house and we will definitely stay again if we ever need accommodation near Thame.

  • Jane was warm and welcoming and her home spotless! It's a quiet location and only 5mins walk into the lovely town of Thame where there are lots of lovely places to eat both dinner and breakfast. I didn't spend long in the room as i was there for a work stay so it was more than adequate for that. I would certainly recommend Jane and her lovely home! Notes that might help others - although i didn't use them (I took my own) the pillows looked rather large and firm, although there were more in the cupboard, and the bed was on the firm side - which was fine for me as I'm used to that at home (even if i do prefer a soft bed haha). Tea and coffee making facilities plus TV in the room and a complimentary flapjack which looked lovely but i didn't get the chance to sample. Plenty of plug sockets, towels etc

    Sarah2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jane's home was everything advertised and more! Her home is immaculately clean and beautifully appointed. Our room was lovely, warm, and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and like a relaxing spa. Breakfast was delicious and the homemade flapjack a special treat. Jane, herself, is charming and a perfect hostess. She helped with suggestions for restaurants in the area and, at our request, chatted with us over breakfast. If I'm ever fortunate enough to be in this part of England again, I would hope to stay with Jane again!

  • Coral was lovely and welcomed me at my arrival time. I had an early morning, so she showed me where all the breakfast items were. The breakfast was cereals, orange juice, tea/coffee, toast and fresh eggs from their own hens! The property is dated, but it is a very reasonable price for the area and what is offered. Thank you!

Double bedroom in a quirky seventeenth century farmhouse in a village on the London side of Oxford. You have a private bathroom, with shower, use of the kitchen and dining room (where there is a piano you can play) plenty of parking and outdoor space in which to relax.
  • Angela's space was just as the description, if not better! Wheatley was the perfect location to be able to get into Oxford town centre. Angela was great at communicating with us in advance of our stay and very flexible with check in and out times. Nothing was too much trouble and she provided an excellent breakfast in the morning. The room and bathroom were very clean and homely. The were exactly as the description stated. Highly recommend!

  • Great location and perfect for what I needed it for (business trip). The house was busy which is probably why the shower and kitchen wasn't mega clean. But don't think host's can be blamed for this!
