“Take a day trip to The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs. Check ahead to see the Bunker Tour safely hidden beneath the hotel and equipped to house all of Congress, the President and executive branch and their families during the Cold War in the event of a nuclear attack on Washington, D.C. Then have a banana split or enjoy fine dining. If you visit The Greenbrier and plan to have dinner there, remember they have a dress code for dinner and bring appropriate attire. The Greenbrier has 38 shops and galleries to enjoy as well as a spa. Call ahead for a horse drawn carriage ride, spa appointment and Bunker Tour reservations.”

Natural Feature
“About 1.5 hours from Charleston, but it is worth the trip. Sometimes the water is so clear you can kayak above subsurface cliffs and see them drop off below you. I've seen visibility at 30' (though it is not always that clear). The water is very warm also and the lake is in the tops of the mountains. Lots of cliffs surrounding the lake. We also love to camp there and kayak until our heart is content.”
