Yes, we are 15 minutes from Guerneville, 10 minutes from the ocean. We are located in a quiet neighborhood just off River Road. About the place. It's small and has no separate rooms. Therefore we ask you keep your party size to two or three. Be prepared to build a fire. Wood stove is the primary heat source. We look forward to meeting you! Katrina & Larry
It's a quiet dead end road. There are houses close by but people keep to themselves.
  • This place is gorgeous and cozy and just what I needed. I cannot wait to find an excuse to stay here.

  • What an awesome place to spend a week. The house itself is perfect and the location is ideal as both a getaway and a central location for exploring. We spent half our time driving up and down the coast (I would recommend the Crab Roll at Cafe Aquatica in Jenner for lunch and hiking the Kortum Trail at Goat Rock Park along the coast). The other half of our trip was in Napa visiting the wineries, which was just over an hour away. Armstrong National Park is nearby if you want to hike in the redwoods and Duncan Mills is just a few minutes away with a couple nice places to eat and a good bakery/coffee shop. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. It’s a perfect vacation spot.

  • Quiet, clean, and stylish location. Lots of natural light and so nice to see the forest out the window. Visited Armstrong national forest and Sonoma coast state park, both 15 minutes away. No complaints, stay was perfect!

Welcome to Velouria, our cabin in the redwoods of northern California. With a cosy loft bedroom in the main house, a romantic wood burning stove, a guest cabin located on the property and a new outdoor hot tub, surrounded by vaulted redwoods. It has everything to make your forrest retreat perfect. It's close to downtown Guerneville and many beautiful local attractions, nature trails and renown vineyards.
This special cabin has a very unique, treehouse feel to it. Sit with a good book on one of the sundecks or in the tree-hung hammock by day, then warm yourself in the cosy living-room with rustic log fire when it gets dark, then have a relaxing night time dip in the hot tub before trundling of to your bed.
Velouria is located in a secluded neighborhood of historic Guerneville in the wilds of West Sonoma. Located only 69 miles North of San Francisco, the A-frame cottage is situated at the end of a cul de sac atop a mountain ridge with beautiful views. Historic downtown Guerneville has recently been in the vacation spotlight as a intimate town that combines a rich experience of pioneer life with wine country luxury. Rent a canoe or kayak and sail the legendary Russian River. Visit renown wineries, sample the alternative local nightlife or go reclusive and wander amongst the lush Redwood forrest rife with wildlife such as wild turkeys, red wing hawks, deer families and colorful songbirds.
  • The retreat in the woods is extremely relaxing. Shane and Craig were very friendly hosts and made themselves available if needed. The place is a little small, so I would stick to no more than 4 people during a stay.

    Joe2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Shane & Craig’s cabin and grounds have a magical quality to them. The sun room was one of my favorite parts- plenty of natural light, peaceful silence, and lots of stars to gaze at from the hot tub. We’ll definitely be back!

    Michael2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Truly magical. Relax in the lounge chairs under the immense tree canopy and enjoy the bluebirds, hawks, and stars. The house is literally surrounded by trees with huge windows and skylights to enjoy from all sides. There was plenty of firewood left behind to light a fire to warm the house. The bathroom is spa-like overlooking the garden. Definitely recommend and will be back.

    Jessica2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is beautiful! The area is absolutely peaceful and great to enjoy the outdoors. The garden is really special and absolutely beautiful! Shane + Craig were great hosts - very responsive. Would love to come back some day!

  • Had a lovely stay at Velouria! Such a cute spot tucked in the woods. Shane and Craig were excellent hosts. Looking forward to a return trip!

  • My buddy, my pooch and I really enjoyed our relaxing weekend at Shane and Craig’s place. Such a cool cabin, relatively secluded, amazingly appointed. And dealing with Shane and Craig was a snap. We’ll be back!

    Kevin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cabin. Close to town. Quiet neighbors. Nice location for the hot-tub.

  • Shane and Craig’s house is wonderfully styled, a smart Home, and has an excellent feel, and wonderful hot tub. Would definitely stay again. Shane and Craig were also very kind when I had trouble booking and went out of their way to assist me.

Your private romantic retreat awaits: a hand built, lovingly maintained and tastefully furnished cedar cabin among the redwoods; rustic yet with all the comforts of home. After a full day of wine tasting, cycling up King's Ridge, canoeing down the river, or just a day of quiet contemplation, my cabin is the perfect Sonoma county getaway. The cabin is close to Guerneville, Russian River, and the Sonoma Coast. You’ll love the cabin because of the comfy bed, redwoods, creekside location, cedar wood, the high ceilings. My place is good for couples and solo adventurers. It also features a top of the line leather Palisser sleeper sofa with memory foam for 2 extra guests and 2 Beaumont Critical bicycles. Note: children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the cabin as the property is not child safe. Sonoma County Vacation Rental Zoning Permit #ZPE 16-0495 / TOT Certificate #2863N.
After a full day of wine tasting, cycling up King's Ridge, canoeing down the river, or just a day of quiet contemplation, this cabin is the perfect Sonoma county. And best of all, the cabin is conveniently located just a few miles from Guerneville, the Russian River, and the Sonoma coast.
  • What a beautiful place. It offers seclusion and was very peaceful. There are neighbors around, but it is very quiet. The house was fully stocked and even had nice variations of spices for me to cook with, which was probably left behind by other guests. The host was easy to get a hold of if I had questions. The first morning we had breakfast outside on the picnic table because the air was just so crisp. It was a fabulous and relaxing stay. I’d recommend this place to anyone. Also the directions were pretty easy to follow as far as check in and check out go. I’m so glad the house came with the essentials for the fireplace. It does get a little chilly at night. There is a space heater in the bedroom. I slept like a bear.

  • This was our second time at David’s cabin and we had a wonderful time. It is so peaceful and quiet, so cozy and well decorated. The bed is very comfortable and the place is very clean. We cooked every day and we had everything we needed, the cabin is our favorite place in Guernville since we spend our honeymoon there a few years ago. We will go back again!

    Bettina2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful listing. The hot tub was a great touch to a cozy cabin. Budget extra time for checkout.. There's a list of instructions.

    Gaurav2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was super sweet, great location. The hot tub was amazing, the kitchen well-stocked. One note was that the fireplace is really the main source of heat, so be prepared to light a fire when you arrive!

    Shawna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and charming cabin in the redwoods, right in a creek. Quaint, cozy with lots of attention to detail! Perfect place for a getaway! We spent 3 nights and absolutely loved it!

    Adi2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • David’s cabin was absolutely what my husband and I needed for our weekend getaway! Seriously so many thoughtful touches when it comes to his guests. We had absolutely everything we needed and more.

Looking to get away from it all? We have the perfect escape in the redwoods of Cazadero that has served as a personal retreat from city life. We adore its creekside setting but also its proximity to both river and ocean, Sonoma county's great wineries and organic farms. Simple living, perfect with its imperfections, this rustic cabin getaway features a great hot tub, outdoor shower, and fireplace to help you relax once the day's activities are over. Our charming little '50s cabin is nestled in the heart of Cazadero on Austin Creek and is a cozy blend of rustic + midcentury modern. Like many of the cabins along the creek, it was originally built as a simple summer retreat for city folk who traveled by train to spend their leisure summer days on the beaches of the Russian River. Like our predecessors, we find the location ideal as it has made it easy for us to shoot up from the East Bay for the day or to spend a week here and forget about it all! Take a walk in Armstrong Woods, rent a paddleboat or kayak at Johnson's Beach, satisfy your hunger from any of the restaurants that reach from Guerneville to Duncans Mills, thoroughly unwind with a long soak in the hot tub, and curl up with a good book and glass of wine in front of your fireplace at day's end. At Cazadero, you can fit in as much or as little as you like during your stay.
Locals and transplants alike mingle in Cazadero. With a population of 420 people, Cazadero is a one-block town consisting of one general store, one post office, and the volunteer fire department. For those who visit and those who stay, Cazadero is a retreat from the city. This unique microclimate which supports redwood forests also supports a myriad of native flora and fauna - if you stay long enough you may be lucky enough to spy frogs, herons, owls, and river otters, all of whom call Austin Creek home.
  • Julia's cabin on the creek is nothing short of magical. We want to buy this house! We had a great time in this lovely setting under the redwoods. The hot tub was clean, the cabin spotless. The kitchen is simple but easily met all our needs. We can't wait to come back in the summer to take advantage of all the water activities on the Russian River and the ocean. 5 stars!

    Leonardo2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a quiet weekend away. Between the hot tub and the fireplace, it's almost impossible not to relax!

    Ian2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was awesome host. Very responsive and thoughtful. The space is beautiful with unmentioned details that were a pleasing surprise. Super clean. WiFi worked great. Really liked the DVD collection and the curated books. The location is close to so much hiking! Minutes from the coast in one direction minutes from the redwoods in the other. Will definitely be back. We stayed 3 nights 4 days and it wasn’t enough time. Thanks Julia!

  • This simple cabin in the woods is truly my favorite airbnb so far. The rustic creekside setting, cozy fireplace and towering redwoods are almost surreal. Add to this a wraparound deck leading to a hot tub and outdoor shower and you’ve got one dream of a tiny cabin in the woods. Reviewers are quite right - the photos simply do not capture how charming this place is. We loved our time here and honestly wish we had booked an extended stay. Half our time here was spent just relaxing on the deck and around the property, the other half, exploring the eclectic towns in the area, each with their own brand of local flavor. Checking in and out was a breeze. It really has everything that we could ever need..the game boards were a great touch. We highly recommend this place! My hubby and I can’t wait to return!

    Sari2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Photos do not do justice to this little piece of heaven. Fireplace, hot tubbing under the redwoods and being in the creek combined to make this stay unique. All the little touches - board games, guitar, books and movies - made our stay just as fun indoors as out. Although it is tucked away in the tiny town of Cazadero, it was the perfect home base for doing activities in the area and this hidden gem really is the center between river, ocean, and wineries. Housekeeping does a great job here to boot! This little cabin is clean and well- managed. Communication too was easy and prompt. Looking forward to coming back for a longer stay!

    Christo2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This wonderful cabin exceeded my expectations! It’s a beautiful, relaxing space overlooking a creek with a lovely hot tub. We enjoyed cozying up in front of the fireplace and there are so many extra touches like games, books, music, movies, extra blankets, fire wood etc. I felt taken care of. This is a fabulous place!

    Michele2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Julia's place is so sweet! We loved hearing the creek, birds, and meditating in the tea room each morning. A perfect place to get quiet and slow. Would return again!

Welcome to the Redwood Dome in Russian River! Ideal location within minutes of hikes, the river, wineries, and the Sonoma coastline. Enjoy a rejuvenating retreat in a unique geodesic dome on 2.5 acres of private property, complete with skylights and two decks for stargazing, a farm table for cozy meals, a writer's desk overlooking the redwoods for work or creative inspiration, projector for movies/shows, and a brand new hydrotherapy hot tub that’s literally under the stars.
This is our private sanctuary and this unique retreat features an open high-ceiling layout with a spacious living room, dining room, and kitchen. The sky lights, high ceilings, and open feel make it the perfect (work) retreat/getaway. There is a welcoming bedroom downstairs with an en-suite bathroom, and another cozy bedroom upstairs with a skylight and a writer's nook. A second bathroom is downstairs and is comfortable and spacious. High speed internet is readily available, perfect for video-streaming or getting work done (if you need). There is a secret cozy nook in the upstairs loft with a teepee for some personal space -- perfect for reading, dreaming, and sketching! The spacious living room features sweeping views of the forest along with a 92" HD projector/screen with Netflix and more. Couch is ideal for sleeping for a fifth person (best spot in the house with views on views of the forest!), and an air mattress is available upon request for groups of 5-6. Note that the couch is not a pull-out couch. It's a space that's best used for quiet retreats, getting away, and reconnecting with nature -- it is not ideal for parties or large events. There are outdoor cameras for your and our protection -- please do not try to sneak in extra guests and/or pets.
Russian River is a wonderful part of Sonoma County boasting some of the best California/Sonoma County has to offer -- beautiful redwoods, breathtaking views, quaint towns, wineries, hikes and beaches. You'll be about 15 minutes away from Highway 1 and the Pacific Ocean.
  • If you want to escape the city this is the place to do it. The hot tub is amazing.

    David2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in a beautiful setting. The inside is a bit dated and the hosts have a lot of intense rules, but it was worth it! 10/10 recommend.

  • This is a beautiful and charming dome house in the middle of the woods. We had a great time there, and would love to go back!

    Ashley2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful place to spend a few days - highly recommend! The hosts are very friendly and quick to respond, and the space itself is gorgeous. The surrounding area is beautiful for hikes/walks, and I would definitely return!

  • Wendy & Alan’s dome house was a perfect place to escape the busy city. The location is perfect and offers beautiful views, especially in the morning. The home is accurately described and displayed in the listing. It’s a short (15-20 minute) drive to nearby towns and the beach, which also offers gorgeous views. The home is very family friendly and cozy. We had plenty of space for four adults and a baby. Check-in and check-out were easy; Wendy & Alan readily communicated with me leading up to the trip and and included clear instructions at the house itself. We enjoyed our stay!

    Camille2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy and Alan's place was incredible. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle, this cabin in the woods was perfect for our weekend getaway. Just a small drive to beaches and hiking, would definitely come back again!

  • The dome is a lovely hidden escape from the bustle of everyday life. We could happily have stayed at the property and never left, but all the eclectic joy of Guerneville and the cute charm of Duncan Mills are a short drive away. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • Absolutely fantastic place. Chad was bey available for any and all questions and assistance. And very accommodating to all of our interests. The property; AMAZING. So spacious, and fun. The kitchen fantastically appointed and out side grill was great. Very private, very lovely for a romantic get away. And the natural wood hot tub... out of this world. A great place to rejuvenate and relax.

  • Convenient location but does not have direct river access , located on shady side of the mountain and is nestled in beautiful redwoods. Hot tub a plus! It was chilly at night but space heaters helped. Walking distance to convenience store.

  • We only stayed one night at the accommodation. The communication was great with lots of helpful info. The hot tub is amazing and a great way to relax our doors. This was a great find and we enjoyed our short stay. We were two couples and the layout worked really well. The only thing I would say is being big guys the beds are smaller than we are used to.

    Lee And Jo2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly what we had hoped for. Something that is great to note, this place is like two perfect little one bedroom apartments. The setup is almost identical upstairs and downstairs with two high end bathrooms with super awesome showers and beds and fridges on separate floors for nice privacy, so for two couples it would be amazing. We just used the upstairs portion to conserve water and heat. The view was perfect, it had everything we needed to decompress, and we are already planning our next trip back. 5 stars across the board!!!

    Morgan2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This is a perfect place to stay - just book it!

    Kirk2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic cabin in the woods. You can't really beat a place like this. We loved the knotty pine on the interior and rough-hewn on the exterior. Situated on a steep hill among giant redwoods overlooking a bridge and the river. Comfortable beds. Remodeled bathroom, kitchen, everything. Incredible hot-tub made of wood. I enjoyed waking up to the sight of fog blanketing the Russian River. Good price, too. JUST BOOK IT ALREADY.

"This is one of the most special places on Airbnb." - Beau, August 2017. "A most sublime space, location, feel, aroma. Spoil yourself and take advantage of one of the most peaceful and beautiful spaces I have been. More specifically, the comforts - beds, pillows, views, kitchen, etc. all are five star." - Tim, Oct 2015
Featured on the TV show “Tiny House Hunting," s02 e11. Contemporary, comfy home with hot tub overlooking the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. Modern living amidst ancient redwoods. Said one guest: "I haven't been this at ease in years." See why "I am convinced Robert's place is the best airbnb ever." "PERFECT. I can't wait to come back." "MAJOR PROPS for the speaker system." “I've probably already taken 200 photos from your deck." “I haven't been this pleased and at ease in years." “You have the most lovely and righteous oasis in the woods." “Feeling so lucky to be here." "MAGICAL" This really special and lovely home is under 90 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge (without traffic...). Fabulous, tasteful, well-maintained, and totally modern, the house is built into a hill in the redwood forest and overlooks the Russian River Valley. The thoroughly contemporary "cabin" is located near the little town of Monte Rio, CA (about 3 miles west of Guerneville). There is nothing better than sitting in that hot tub overlooking the pristine beauty of the gorgeous russian river valley. The place is great for a couple or a solo traveler who just wants to chill out in a really beautiful and special place. About the place. The house is about 720 sq ft and thoroughly modern with an ingenious use of space. The "loft like" bedroom is atop a spiral staircase. From the bed are redwood trees framed by skylights. Linens are provided. There is a large deck with a table for outside meals, and there is a wonderful hot tub. The hot tub will take several hours to warm up after you arrive and will get up to 104 - the manufacturer does not let the tub get hotter than 104. The hot tub is treated between guests and fully serviced on Wednesdays so if your visit includes a Wednesday the hot tub people might show up and we can let you know ahead of time at what time to expect them. There are two couches outside as well. The speaker system for the excellent indoor/outdoor stereo system really enhances chilling out on the deck. The place has a very modern kitchen with an electric stove. There is a gas grill on the deck, and we try to provide enough propane for the grill. You will find the usual implements of cooking destruction. Some guests bring and leave spices and oils and some things accumulate (mustard, oregano) and others go quick (olive oil). Just to be safe, if you love to cook you can bring what you know you need, or check what's been left first and just replace what you use. You can walk down the hill to a lovely beach on the Russian River, and the walk takes about 10-15 minutes. If you are walker, you can walk about a mile to Monte Rio where there are a few restaurants, cafes, and bars (some only open in the Summer months). Guerneville, which has more restaurants and bars (including 2 gay bars) is about 3 miles away. In Guerneville and Monte Rio you can also rent canoes or kayaks for a day on the river. In the other direction, you drive along the river and in about 10 minutes come to Jenner and Goat Rock State Park, a spectacular park where river meets ocean. Bodega Bay is quite close as well. Charming Occidental, with great breakfast spots, is a short drive. You are also near the Northwood Golf Course, Armstrong Woods Park, and easily more than 50 world class wineries. Plus hiking all over the place in this overwhelming beauty. Unlike many local listings, you get the comfort of knowing we obtained a vacation rental permit that mandates the 2 guest limit. So no additional guests and unfortunately no children or pets either. Thanks in advance for understanding. Note that only Verizon and Sprint have a cell signal here. Also note that the "heater" option is not checked. There is no heating in this house! There is a wood burning stove, and we recommend buying wood if you would like a fire. There is kindling provided but if you might have trouble starting a fire in a fireplace, we recommend bringing Duraflame logs with you. You'll be glad you did. The house lets in abundant light. This is by design! This is noted because some guests may want to bring an eye mask. This place is a great opportunity to just chill out, go explore Sonoma county, taste wines - whatever you want. Many guests don't ever even want to leave the place at all. The house is gorgeous, and the area spectacular. You'll love it! Guests have access to the entire house and surrounding property, including the hot tub, outdoor gas grill, and speaker system. Plus it is an easy walk to the Russian River for sightseeing and summer swimming. The hosts are not present during the visits from guests. When booking is complete, we provide an access code to retrieve keys to the house and we email a "welcome letter" with house rules and suggested activities in the area. We are available 24/7 by phone and check email frequently, but try to leave guests alone. The "neighborhood" is a 5mph country road that winds through a redwood forest. There are not many neighbors and the folks you do see out walking are friendly. The best thing about the "neighborhood" is the scenic walks, the proximity to the Russian River and surrounding activities like hiking, swimming, biking, great restaurants, and, of course, wine tasting. Parking is included, and a car is required. Note that a large SUV will have trouble navigating the narrow country roads. Last minute exceptions can be accommodated when possible.
  • This place is truly a gem. The photos are great, but the actual experience far surpassed our expectations. A stunning view, a truly *perfect* outdoor living space, great amenities, relaxing interior spaces, well stocked kitchen, private, and clean! Thank you for an amazing getaway!

  • Excellent place. 😊

    Wendy2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place is truly amazing. My only regret is that I didn't bring food with me so that I didn't have to leave at all during stay! I was considering spending the day wine tasting, but once I saw the incredible deck and realized that I could spend the whole day there, I completely changed my plans. I did leave to head down to Sonoma Coast State Park to watch the sunset, which I definitely recommend. Also, heed Robert's advice and do not drive to the house for the first time at night (if you can avoid it). The drive up is like nothing I have experienced, and I was very glad I wasn't doing it for the first time in the dark. Thanks, Robert! I look forward to coming back to this relaxing getaway!

  • House was super charming! Very relaxed vibe with amazing views.

    Katherine2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is adorable and the deck is breathtaking! We loved our stay! We are recommending it to all our friends.

    Shannon2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place is exactly as described by all the other reviews. It's important to note that the ONLY source of heat is the fire that you build when you arrive. Without fire you will not have a pleasant or comfortable stay in January when the temperatures reach the low 40s at night. That being said, we burned through 6 bundles of wood that we purchased at the Safeway in Guerneville. We supplemented with some of Robert's wood, but you will definitely need to bring your own.

    Lanette2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Robert's place was amazing! It's quiet and secluded, had everything we needed, and we loved the hot tub and the fireplace!

Remodeled small/cozy cabin. Central heat +wood stove. Walk to river. 2 BR-with queen beds. Large Master BR with new half bath. New large main bath. Luxury bedding and towels. Comcast TV/sports channel. WiF is wicked fast. Cozy dining/kitchen/living room. Top of the line spa maintained by spa company on Fridays. Cabin appears larger in photos. Relaxing remodeled redwood cabin. Heartwood cabin is a ~100 year old redwood cabin that has been renovated with modern amenities yet retains the vintage cabin charm. Installed new central heating but also has woodstove and we supply the wood. Come with friends and enjoy the professionally maintained large therapeutic spa . Four people can easily enjoy the spa with their own space with their own jets and stretch out without bumping into each other. We supply spa towels. Heartwood cabin is a great place to stay with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths (half bath in the master). We supply soap, shampoo, conditioner and toilet paper as well as luxury towels. We also have a blow dryer. The master bedroom is spacious as well as the main bath. Rest of cabin is cozy and comfortable and very functional. Both bedrooms have queen beds and luxurious bedding. Kitchen is well stocked with essential spices and Peet’s or Starbucks coffee and paper towels. Appliances include convection oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker. It is really is a kitchen that would make a gourmet cook happy with many kitchen tools like salad spinner and roasting pan as well as handheld mixer for baking. We also have a cocktail shaker and glasses and a blender for your use. Washer and dryer including detergent for all the conveniences of home. Internet is super fast. TV/cable to watch your favorite shows. There is plenty of parking on the street. Trees are everywhere, we are in a redwood forest with a magical fairy ring and there is also a sunny deck. You will find a small ice chest, beach chairs and a shade umbrella if you want to take to local beach which is within walking distance (5 minutes walk east of cabin).
Neighborhood is small, beautiful and is within walking distance to the river. Since we are so close to river there are cabins nearby but still a lovely spot to relax and enjoy the spa. River access is a 5 minute walk east of cabin. In the summer you can picnic, swim and enjoy the sun. We supply chairs, umbrella and small ice chest. For a place to rent kayaks or canoes drive 5 minutes west to Monte Rio there is a large beach with rentals or rent a canoe at Burke’s in nearby forestville for a fun trip down river and they pick you up later and bus you back to starting point. Tennis courts are behind the nearby garden restaurant which is within a short walking distance. Bring your bikes and bike to Armstrong woods state park and downtown Guerneville for lunch or dinner. Park in the outside parking lot at Armstrong then you can walk in without paying the car entrance fee. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance, the Garden Grill for breakfast and lunch, a bakery for breakfast and lunch as well as a Chinese restaurant. The location is perfect to visit all that California offers, wineries, beaches, redwoods, dancing in Rio Nido or Guerneville , and kayaking, World class wineries are nearby on west side road. Bodega bay and Jenner are also nearby as well as the lovely towns of occidental and bodega and other small nearby picturesque villages.
  • Mary’s place is lovely, a great little hideout in the woods in an area with easy access to the main town, wineries and the sea. The hot tub was great after a long days hiking

    Nick2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a true gem! Cosy, charming and comfortable. It is small, but the design of the small space functions so well. Small kitchen? Yes - but everything you need to cook and clean up is right there. Cabin is sparkling clean, beds are very comfy, cabin is easily heated if it is cold outside. Hot tub is new and super clean. What is really special? It retains the vibe of a cozy and beloved cabin. Not sterile or staged. Highly recommended (due to its size) for: - One Couple - Two Couples - One Couple with 1 extra guest - Two travelers/vacationers that want separate bedrooms. Absolutely 5 Stars!

    Erin2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a great time at Mary’s cabin. The hot tub was exactly what we needed. My children had so much fun playing outside. We really had a great time. Thanks again.

  • My wife and I loved this cabin. It was a nice blend of old and new. Nice dark wood on the interior and wood stove gives an awesome feel. Hot tub on the deck is a bonus. Great location on a side street lined with beautiful redwoods. We would come back again for sure.

Find us on instagram @tworiversretreats and www.tworiversretreats.com Located high in the redwoods of Monte Rio, the Crow's Nest provides a birds eye view of the old growth forest surrounding the property. Take in the stunning views from our patio, the hot tub, or through the many large windows in the cabin.
With its open floor plan, and airy design, the Crow's Nest invites you to relax in an environment that both captures and emphasizes the sublimity of the massive redwoods which envelop it. The spatiality of the interior, its many windows and doors, creates a texture that feels both in and of the vistas surrounding the property. Hardwood floors are featured throughout the house, adorned with all manner of rugs, to complement the woodsy quality of the property. The pellet stove, and assortment of blankets, encourage residents to get cozy by the fire and take in the ambiance of the area. The kitchen is fully stocked with modern appliances and cookware. We have a french press for that burst of energy in the morning, or make a smoothie in our blender. Engage with each other while you cook on our stools in the kitchen and then find a place on our patio, under the stars, to enjoy your meal. Our picnic table seats 4 and is perfect for intimate meals. Our master bedroom is situated in the loft area, the capstone of the property. Skylights and windows create a seamless transition between inside and outside, giving you the best of both worlds: sleeping under the stars while also being able to swaddle yourself in the creature comforts of the bedroom. Whether that’s on our queen sized bed, or the couch, feel free to stretch your legs. The downstairs bedroom is dual purpose, complete with a full size murphy bed that opens and closes depending on your needs. Step outside the french doors to the wraparound veranda and discover just how close you are to nature. A main feature of this house is the redwood that bisects the portico and injects the deck with life. A separate brick patio offers a fire pit and plenty of seating. Gather around the fire, relax, and enjoy the scenery. Our hot tub lies further down a path in the woods. It’s remote, surrounded by a chapel of Redwoods, and perfect for relaxing. Take a morning dip, an afternoon respite, or sip cocktails under the stars. The Crows Nest can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests, with parking availability for 2 cars. Per Sonoma county legislation, all fires must be extinguished by 10pm and quiet hours are enforced between 10pm and 7am.
From the property, you have captivating views of the Redwoods. The Russian River flows 15 minutes from the door, is easily walkable, but the return is steep. The river is dog friendly, and amenities in the quaint town of Monte Rio include kayak and canoe rentals, Lightwave Cafe, Bartlett’s Market, and the historic Rio theater. We share our neighborhood with many great neighbors, including foxes, deer, a wide variety of birds, and so much more!
  • Super cute place tucked away in the Redwoods. It was so relaxing and also decorated really fun. We would love to come back!

    Alexandra2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place is PERFECT! A stylish cabin hidden away in the redwoods. It was cozy and quiet but close to Guerneville if you needed to stop in town. I needed a weekend away from Downtown Oakland and am so lucky to have found the crows nest. Holly and Cheri were both very friendly and quick to respond. Thanks for making this weekend a perfect getaway

    Erica2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • You will be pleasantly surprised by all the details. Holly’s space is amazing!

    Anna2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely serene. The hot tub, the decoration touches, and the vibe was just all amazing. Would recommend to anyone and will come back myself

    Tianne2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so charming I kind of selfishly wish I were the only one who knew about it. But it provided my boyfriend and me with a blissful, romantic couple of days and I think everyone deserves a little bit of that magic in their lives. The hot tub was sublime and the space is just perfect—from the secludedness to the decor and layout. We are also quite active in the kitchen and cocktail-making department and were relieved to see the kitchen had everything we needed—including a cocktail shaker for making margaritas! We were also appreciative of how easy it was to get to the place, especially considering how secluded and peaceful it felt. We're definitely coming back in the summer!

    Cristabelle2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had high expectations of The Crow's Nest from friends, and we were not disappointed! We had a glorious two nights in this beautiful cabin in the woods with our Pomeranian, Memo, and had a great time. We were very comfortable and appreciated all the thoughtful touches. You can tell that they have really thought about the guest when creating this space. The deck was even bigger than we expected, and it was lovely to spend time outside. The climb up to the front door was more challenging than we expected, but well worth the effort.

    Jennifer2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, beautiful place with lots of unique touches. Clean, comfortable, and charming. Great host, would highly recommend.

    Nicholas2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Crow’s Nest is hands down one of the best stays I’ve ever had. It’s truly a wonderful little cabin tucked away in the trees. Holly and Cherie were great hosts- they were very responsive, provided clear instructions for check-in and check-out, and suggestions for activities in the area. I can’t recommend this stay highly enough.

Deep forest, **extremely quiet**, Hot tub tucked into the forest, Koi pond, water sounds, romantic and cozy yet so very private. The Russian River is a short drive, walk or hike down the hill.
Tucked away on a hill top, quiet, a place to come to to relax. The back yard is natures paradise with a small trail to Koi pond and a hot tub to enjoy.
Monte Vista Terrace is a small country road, one lane road, in order to enjoy such a remote property, the road is the sacrifice to get here. safe for walks and hikes. All of the neighbors are friendly and helpful.
  • Ken is the most hospitable Airbnb host I’ve yet to experience. He was quick to respond, gave us cooking essentials that we forgot to pack, and even gave us some chocolate cake he baked for a birthday we were celebrating. I highly recommend staying at Ken’s house. The property is breathtaking, and soaking in the hot tub surrounded by redwoods is out of this world. Thank you again Ken!

    Ashley2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful, quiet, private place. Kenneth was quick to respond each time i contacted him. The bed was super comfy. The room was warm and cozy. We stayed 3 nights and 4 days and loved every minute of it. We enjoyed the firepit and the soft tub. The property is soo beautiful and tucked away in the forrest. We even had a grey cat come and cozy up w us several times. We loved it and would love to return again another time. Perfect anniversary trip.

    Jamie2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ken is the best host you can ask for. There is an amazing hike within walking distance of the stay. The hot tub is kept very hot and feels great during the night. You get your own patio. The ceilings are low, but the place feels so comfortably and cozy. You will be very pleased if you stay here. Will be coming back.

    Brent2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kenneth's place was very cozy and inviting. There was a bottle of wine waiting when you enter and it was very clean. He was communicative, there was reserved parking, and we felt welcome. The hot tub was great and the fluffy cat that visited was a bonus. It's the perfect retreat with a host that's thought of everything you'll need!

    Marissa2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is the best place if you want to getaway and get some peace and quiet and enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature. It’s a cute cozy place to relax. Our host was very welcoming and super quick to reply to our questions. My boyfriend and I will definitely come back in the future!

    Bricia2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Kenneth’s place is truly wonderful. Nestled in the trees, quiet, cute and well appointed. Everything you need is available in the apartment including multiple towels, robes and cooking utensils. You can wake up and watch the sunrise from bed and it’s wonderful. The walk down to the hot tub is lovely and siting amongst the trees while soaking is truly amazing. Kenneth himself is the consummate host. It was our short honeymoon and we arrived to a some food treats and a cake to celebrate. He was kind, available and just really lovely. The only thing to be careful with is that the ceiling is low.. if you are over 6foot you can’t stand! When we mistakenly hit our hand on the ceiling Kenneth came right down thinking we had called him up...that’s how nice he is! Extra bonus there is a cool cat who just loves hanging out!

Come and relax on the Lower Russian River! We are nestled in a beautiful, quiet canyon only five minutes from the Russian River and town of Guerneville, two minutes from the old growth redwoods of Armstrong Woods, and thirty minutes from the coast. Whether you are here to enjoy hiking, biking, river sports, wine tasting, the beach, or the food and fun in Guerneville, Sweetwater Cottage is the ideal vacation home base.
Sweetwater Cottage is detached from the main house, with a beautiful view of the woods and meadow that is our back yard. It includes a microwave and mini fridge for storing and heating your leftovers from the wonderful brewpubs in the area, as well as a complete setup for coffee and tea in the morning. There is a half bath in the cottage itself, and guests will have access to the shower in the main house at all times. Our beautiful location does come at a small cost: our internet is not very fast (one could say "on river time"!) and some phone carriers get spotty reception. It is better in the main house and you are welcome to come in if you have important emails or work to do, but hopefully you are here to disconnect anyway :). We have two dogs, and the big one would LOVE to meet you, but if you are scared of dogs or would like to limit your interaction with her, just let us know. Our small dog does not like strangers and we would be thrilled if you would refrain from trying to interact with her. Dogs deserve the right of consent too! We do not discriminate based on religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity or presentation. All are welcome!
The lower Russian River has been a vacation destination for the inner Bay Area for over a hundred years. Guerneville in particular has had the honor of being the preferred vacation spot for the gay community of San Francisco for decades, and still has a thriving LGBTQ+ community. This is exemplified in the legendary gay bar, The Rainbow Cattle Company. For those that enjoy the outdoors, you couldn't be in a better spot. Hiking, biking, river sports, and the beach are all here. We are avid hikers and would be more than happy to point you towards our favorite spots. Sweetwater Springs Road, connecting Guerneville to the Healdsburg side of the hills via some of Sonoma County's best scenery, is a favorite destination for cyclists. This is, of course, wine country, and there are countless wineries to visit. We are in the Russian River Vally appellation, and from here you can head over to Healdsburg, Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill, Green Valley, Bennett Valley, and more. We have provided a selection of coupons for 2 for 1 tastings/complementary tastings for a variety of wineries in the area which we hope you will enjoy.
  • We had a wonderful time staying here! The hosts were communicative and the space was beautiful, cozy, warm, and full of personal details.

  • We loved staying at Brendan and Imogen’s cottage. The space was so beautiful and well decorated. It was a luxurious experience and we especially enjoyed the Chemex coffee maker and tea varieties. The location is divine and so peaceful.

    Lucia2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it! Would go back in a heartbeat. Was sad to only have one night, I could have relaxed there indefinitely

  • The cutest coziest tiny cottage! Brendan was an awesome host and communicated great throughout my stay. The cottage was very clean and had all you basic needs, minus a shower, which you can find inside. It was a very pleasant and quaint stay. Quiet and peaceful- just what I had hoped for! I actually ended up staying another night. 10 out of 10 would recommend for a simple peaceful and cozy stay

  • Such a nice spot to stay. Easy access to town of Gruenville with lots of great food choices & great bar, El Barrio, suggested by Brendan. Convenient to Healdsburg & many wineries. I was fine showering in the host’s home but my hubby wasn’t. Lots of nice touches & very accommodating.

The house is nestled on a wooded lot and is now lovingly restored, insulated, and comfortable all year long. It is conveniently located near River Road, the main thoroughfare leading into town. Neighbors are quiet and the atmosphere inside and outside of Hillside Lodge is relaxing.
  • A spacious, spotless, and nicely decorated home. We spent one week visiting various wineries and attractions, and enjoyed returning to this comfortable space very evening.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hillside Lodge. 4 of us were very comfortable in this great little place tucked away in the woods of Guerneville. The place has all the necessities for a wonderful stay.....well appointed kitchen with complementary coffee, nice clean gas BBQ, comfortable great room, comfortable beds, and the list goes on. I give this place my highest recommendations.

    Clay2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy spot, almost a tree house feel since the view is tree filled. Close to downtown, Armstrong woods and about 25 min or so to the beaches (the drive is beautiful). On top of that the most well stocked, thoughtful kitchen I’ve seen in a Airbnb! Allan responded right away to any questions I had and was kind. Highly recommended, I am sure we will be back again.

  • This is a gem of a place to stay in Russian River area. Minutes from everything in Guerneville and the River. Loads of fabulous vineyards within easy driving distance of house. The house is VERY well appointed and furnished and supplied with everything anyone would need for a comfortable stay. Kitchen is terrific. Communication with owner was always fast and helpful. We could not have found a more awesome place for 3 and a baby to stay.

    Jill2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • HIllside Lodge is a sweet vintage cottage nestled in the trees! It was very clean, well-equipped, and comfortable, perfectly laid out. There is a spacious deck with grill; because it was cold/raining during our January visit, we never went out to sit there. Cell service is almost non-existent in the area, so make your plans ahead of time, or use the internet at Allen's HL. Very highly recommended!

    Ann2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Allan's place for two nights. The house was quiet, warm and inviting and had everything we needed to make our stay relaxing. We enjoyed cooking in the roomy and fully stocked kitchen and reading in the cozy living room, not to mention the super comfortable bed. We will be back but would like to stay longer next time. Thank you Allan for the personal touch you left at our arrival. Added bonus for us was the flexible cancellation policy and the safety and emergency preparedness features in the house. Thanks!

  • Loved staying at this Airbnb. Everything is as shown in the pictures, beautifully decorated with all the amenities you could need. From checkin to checkout the entire process was smooth and easy. It’s also in a gorgeous and peaceful location. Loved being able to wake up and drink coffee on the beautiful deck. I wish I could have spent more time here and will definitely come back!

  • Had such a lovely and relaxing time. Highly suggest getting out there before the sun goes down so it’s easier to find. Close enough to town but far out enough to be able to really disconnect.

    Kat2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place to get away. Very relaxing and peaceful. Just what we needed to celebrate our anniversary.

    Crystal2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Stace's studio was very clean and cozy. The hot tub was a great amenity for relaxing after a day of exploring. Stace was very responsive and kind. I would stay here again in the future. The road to the studio is a bit windy but we became accustomed to it after the first 2 drives.

A powerful connection to nature here in this unique, well appointed one bedroom. Ancient redwood forest boardering a meandering stream. Formal dining room with open beam ceiling, huge picture window, and Dutch doors that open onto the veranda. Glass enclosed sunroom with additional sleeping areas. Large deck accessible between both sunroom and dining room for bbq and al Fresca dining. Private gated driveway. Main upper unit shares hottub with basement level aupair (available for rent separately)
A German woman of independent character built this house in the early 50’s. I believe she was raised near the Black Forest and chose to build here because it reminded her of home. As she was fascinated by Asian art and culture, the house is punctuated by an oriental motif, which laid over the design elements of her own culture and placed in this particular setting, have created something truly unique and special which was all her own. I was alone the first time I entered the home on a crisp autumnal day. I had never met the owner- mystery woman that she is- but she replied to my inquiry with directions on where to find a hidden key. The house was dark and a little musty. I took a few strides across what is now the dining room and opened the top section of the Dutch doors to let in some fresh air. Difficult to explain, but I was immediately struck by the way the house framed, incorporated, viewed and invited the forest around. By the time I’d discovered the sunroom and toured the grounds, I was hooked. Had to have it. I never met the owner in person. Like a character in a movie, she was this mysterious presence at the other end of the email or text thread. She never did come to clear out all her things, so I tucked them away in the basement. While doing so, I kept discovering little details that eventually painted a picture of the German woman who had built the house and her lover who had lived there with her, the woman she had bequeathed the house to when she passed and the mysterious owner I never met. I eventually found a portrait of Joanne, the deceased owner, and put it up in order to honor her memory. My wife and I named this place the love nest- both as a play on our business name “Nested”, but also in memory of the two women who built a secret life together here during a time when society frowned upon what they shared.
Redwoods, river, wineries, ocean, funky fun little hamlets- what’s not to love?
  • Cherie's cabin was perfect for a peaceful weekend getaway. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots/pans, utensils, and seasonings, which was very convenient since we had planned to make our own meals during our stay. The fireplace, record player, and hot tub were great additions that we definitely took advantage of.

    Emily2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • I was unable to stay at the love nest due to an unforeseeable circumstance but Cherie was so beyond accommodating and communicated effectively throughout the whole process. I know she is truly an ideal host and I hope to stay on her property in the near future!

    Natalia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is gorgeous and a really lovely place to stay for couples. We got to relax with a fire, grill up dinner, soak in the tub and listen to a collection of records. If you're looking for a little getaway, this place is an amazing choice!

    Emma Lane2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cute little space is SO worth it! I love the back room with all the windows towards the trees - it's breathtaking. We'll be back to stay longer next time!

    Jessica2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, near downtown Guerneville but nestled in the Redwoods. Cherie was super responsive. Was very clean! And the place was just like the photos, but I do agree with some other reviewers about the heating being a bit of an issue. Bring layers!

    Natalie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The love nest was one of the best Airbnb homes I've stayed in. It's a beautiful home and so many thing to do right on the property. Hot tub ! They have an outdoor big size chest game and a cute teepee guest can camping in if its warm enough. Also 2 bikes you can ride through the neighborhood. The home was amazing I'm definitely coming back!

    Nayeli2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place was a great spot in the woods, close to town, and beautifully located within the redwoods. The space is beautiful and decorations are lovely - I especially liked the sunroom and even slept in there one night to be amongst the trees - I'd recommend! I'd also recommend putting the heater on as soon as you arrive as it is somewhat cold inside and the insulation is only so so.

    Rebecca2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is magical. The home has a really unusual vintage charm, inspired by eastern design, with modern cozy decor. The backyard overlooks the river, which you can hear faintly in the main living area. That’s where you’ll spend lots of time staring at redwoods surrounding you on 3 of 4 sides. It’s a 5 minute drive to downtown Guerneville which has lots of restaurants, gift shops, and a Safeway - and anything else you can think of. It was a treat to sit in the simple hot tub and stare up at the stars and smell the air of the woods. The only thing that was a damper was that the refrigerator was not cold enough so some of my food didn’t make it all 3 days. Otherwise this was exactly the retreat I needed - I got to hike in Armstrong Woods and wander up and down the coastal beaches. The place is beautiful, but not fancy - the simplicity was lovely. I highly recommend!

My sunny '70s 2 bedroom cabin with exposed redwood cathedral beam ceilings has amazing canyon views. There's a hot tub and a small one bedroom outbuilding that's its own little getaway. It's in a very special neighborhood with really nice people.
Vacation Rental Permit # ZPE16-000, Transient Occupancy Certificate #2650N. My house was part of a special group of homes designed and built by a gay couple in the late '70s. Their thought and detail is seen everywhere in the house. It's not a big home, but it's designed to maximize space. Exposed redwood cathedral ceilings are in the living room and there are 2 bedrooms. A very large lower deck contains a hot tub, outdoor shower and a small cabin that has a bed which is included in the rental. Truly a special getaway the owner has decided to let others enjoy.
The neighborhood is along a ridge top. The neighbors are quite close and look after each other. There's a yearly gathering of the neighbors for a covered dish event. Everyone is very respectful of noise and space.
  • Bob’s place is special. I met his across the street neighbor and she described his house as “the best one in the neighborhood” and I can see why! it’s comfortable, cozy, and serene. highly recommend for anyone needing a peaceful getaway!

    Sierra2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot! Great host! Quiet retreat

  • Loved our stay! Can’t wait to return!

    Christina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome spot, and super close to Guerneville. Bob is a very thoughtful host 👍

    Mike2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Bob's cabin is a hidden gem tucked into a redwood forest. A few friends and I stayed for a long weekend and it was the perfect place to unplug. What made it even better was Bob's charming communication and hospitality -- he went above and beyond. Just not that there's no central heating--only a wood burning stove and space heaters -- which was fine for us, but important to know.

    Jenna2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Bob’s home is such a peaceful getaway. The beds are comfy, the space is cozy, the surrounding forest is incredibly serene and the little bedroom by the jacuzzi is heaven. If you are looking to escape and cook lovely dinners and play board games and explore the surrounding redwoods I highly recommend giving his place a visit. Thanks so much for having us bob.

    Beau2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful retreat in the woods but so close to town! Plenty of places nearby with things to do, places to eat and drink. We loved the comfy beds, pillows and blankets. Easy instructions for check in and out. Will definitely be back and suggesting this place to friends!

    Lorie2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful stylish home with amazing views. Decoration with mod style. The iron fireplace was a lifesaver as it got a little chilly at night. It heats up the entire home. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances. Bunk bed very comfy. Will definitely stay again when in Napa/Sonoma.

Lower level of a lovely, two story home on the Russian River one mile from the charming town of Guerneville. The large room, recently remodeled, has its own private entrance with an attached, private bathroom with shower and tub. It has a picturesque, private deck with spectacular views of the Russian River, redwoods, vineyards, and surrounding mountain. Right on the river, it is ideal for picnics, exploring, lounging, swimming, paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, meditating . . .
The deck has steps leading down to a shared courtyard and to an expansive private, sandy beach shared with just a few other houses right on the river. Serene, the space is unique and perfect for those seeking the relaxing, invigorating, simple pleasures of nature surrounded by abundant wildlife and beauty.
Small private-like neighborhood where most residents know each other. It is quiet and very safe.
  • Tony's place is fantastic! Highly recommend. Must admit, as a first-timer in the Airbnb world, we weren't sure what to expect. This place exceeded our expectations. Had a great stay, and would definitely book again in the future.

This is a really sweet studio/open floor plan with kitchen and dining area and an amazing, huge shower. You can relax, grill and dine on front porch - This studio is my personal favorite when I get a chance to go up to the river When requesting the book you must put in the total number of people. Because The studio is part of a duplex with a shared common wall, we cannot rent to children or infants

You would never guess that This studio has a large walk in shower with dual shower heads. The kitchen is well stocked with every thing you need for cooking in. Sit on the front porch and enjoy a bottle of wine you purchased at one of the many tasting rooms in the area. Or toast to that well deserved vacation with a special bottle of Champagne from Korbel Winery - which is just a 10 minute drive. Note - This open floor plan studio is part of a duplex - each with completely Private entrances, and sharing a common wall with another studio unit. • Johnny's place was the perfect couples escape into the redwoods. Our check-in was easy due to the instructions that Johnny provided, and we loved the cozy and clean place that was nestled in the trees. The location was extremely close to Armstrong Redwoods for early morning hikes. We enjoyed the close proximity to the local Guerneville shops and our only regret was not trying the Rio Nido Roadhouse which was walking distance from the Airbnb. We would love to return!

    Teresa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and stayed here for valentine's day and it was lovely! The studio is super cute and cozy with a lot of homey charm. While still being in a fairly residential area, the bungalow manages to feel like you are tucked far into the beautiful California woods. Johnny was always quick to respond and made sure we had everything we need. I would highly recommend this space if your looking for a nice getaway!

    Briana2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at Johnny's place for a quick weekend getaway. It was perfect for a couple. The next time we come up to the Russian River I'll be checking to see if his place is free again.

Our Redwood Studio apartment is within easy walking distance to Guerneville's charming shops and great restaurants. You’ll love the the serenity of the trees, sounds of the chickens, and the quiet friendly neighborhood. It sits at the base of an old growth Redwood tree. There is no stove in the small kitchenette, it has microwave, toaster oven, french press, kettle. Attached to our home, the 300 sq ft apartment has a private entrance and deck. Armstrong Redwoods 2 miles Sonoma Coast 10 miles
We found this beautiful place in 1985 and have lived here ever since. Located just a few blocks from Main Street but on a hill above town, the property has ancient redwoods and the Redwood Studio apartment is a the base of our biggest and oldest tree, probably more than 500 years old. Although easy walking down to town it feels like a world away. Our large rambling house was built around 1890. The 300 sq ft Redwood Studio was a separate apartment that we have recently renovated. We have really enjoyed sharing our space with visitors to the area.
Our charming, friendly neighborhood has an old cemetery at the top of the hill. Guerneville is an interesting old town full of galleries and shops. My favorite is the Guerneville 5 & 10. Excellent restaurants such as Boon and Seaside Metal. The treasured but long closed Bank building has been beautifully renovated and now houses an ice cream and pie shop and wine tasting room. You can walk to the river for fishing and in the summer for a swim. Two miles from the Studio is Armstrong Redwoods with gentle strolls or challenging hikes. The Russian River Valley holds many wineries for touring and the Sonoma Coast is just a beautiful drive along the river to the ocean.
  • The space was clean and comfy, and so perfectly located! We could walk into town no problem. The space was as described, and even without a full kitchen we managed to make ourselves some nice little meals with the microwave and toaster oven. We were mostly staying in and the blackout curtains were especially appreciated since we both work nights usually so we sleep late. Between that and the comfy bed we had some of the most restful nights' sleep we'd had in ages. Kathleen was also helpful with local tips and we had a nice day hike in the nearby regional park and a great little walk to the local cemetery. Hope to make it back one day soon!

    Karina2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage on a hill just above the main drag in Guernevile. Super quiet escape and cozy escape - the kitchen has all that you'd need for a weekend away and the morning sunshine and sound of faint windchimes was magical. Kathleen was very welcoming. Great spot!

    Joseph2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Kathleen’s spot is a perfect location within walking distance to downtown’s restaurants, bars, and wine tasting rooms.

    Daniella2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous redwoods in a forest setting type yard with strings of lights make for a magical feeling at night.

    Bob2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We came to Guerneville to visit our daughter and her new baby (our grandchild). We needed affordable appropriate accommodations and Kathleen's Redwood Studio was the exact fit for our special needs at this time. It is perfect for a couple who does not require elaborate kitchen facilities.

Most homes in the Russian River area are located in rural neighborhoods, home to a colorful, eclectic population of both full-time and vacation home residents. There are neighbors, but they're usually not too close, and you can expect the kinds of activities typical of any neighborhood. There are a range of dwelling types, and you might rub elbows with a 5th generation River resident, a Silicon Valley scion, and a Generation of Love retiree on the same block. The Russian River is a vacation destination year round, and most homes are built on roads running parallel to the River or Creek with mountains close on both sides, so there are varying degrees of noise from the roads, the River, residents and other visitors. Many roads are narrow (some may even wend and wind a bit), without much street lighting, so it's best to arrive in the daylight, if possible, and please download and use our directions. GPS, online mapping and cell service are not reliable in this area. If you have any questions about the general access to or neighborhood surrounding this home, please contact us.
  • What to expect: It's just as pictured! Very sweet, rustic and charming. Don't expect anything fancy, and you will find this little rental delivers. It was sparkling clean when we arrived, and I found that RRG definitely goes out of their way to listen to feedback and return calls, so if something puzzles you, don't be shy about calling them! Heads up: the bed is a cabin bed with springs and if there are two of you, it may sag in the middle a bit, but just snuggle into it and you'll be good. Also, there are neighbors within eyesight of the deck/tub (although we did not see them once, just the side of their house) and also the quiet road) so bring a suit for the tub, lol! A great value for the cost and absolutely perfect to disappear into the woods and away from the city and all its noise for a while. If you have a truck or an SUV, you would be wise to take it rather than a compact, as the drive is unpaved and steep. You will love this sweet little place!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this little house! It was very clean, we loved the smell of a fire right when you walk in and the setting was AMAZING!! We would definitely recommend this place to everybody!

    Sarah2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cabin. Just like the pics online. It was perfect!! We loved every moment and only regret we didn’t book for a longer stay. We look forward to coming back during the summer when it’s warmer outside so we can make more use of the deck. The hot tub was perfect for this chilly weather. Be prepared for a “real” cabin experience. Not a huge water heater so bathing is not ideal and unless you start a fire it can be a bit chilly..... but that is what you get when you stay in a cabin in the woods. No complaints here. We loved our stay and response of the staff when needed.

Here's what you'll experience at my Charming Cabin, sometimes referred to as "The TreeHouse": Excitement builds as you climb the gentle stairway that reveals the three wide floor-to-ceiling windows of your hilltop aerie. Once tucked inside the romantic wood-paneled warmth, you will stay cool and relaxed – it’s always at least 10 degrees warmer below in town - and nighttime often offers exceptional opportunities to snuggle up with blankets – to read, write, play, or just daydream about what tomorrow holds. The TreeHouse cabin has a wide-open feel that combines old world charm with a contemporary aesthetic and a fun, retro 50s kitchen that’s both a little bit kitschy and way classy. The kitchen retains period charm and gets some updating with a sweet eat-in dining area. As with the rest of the house, the windows look out into the redwoods with additional light provided by the kitchen skylight that opens to the stately trees above. Fully equipped with wireless internet, phone, and television, the TreeHouse allows you to plug-in or tune into almost any century. The large overstuffed leather reading chair seems to invite you in with your hard-cover book, iPad, Nook, or last year’s stack of old magazines, to sit next to the wood burning fireplace and imagine a wintertime reverie. One surprise may delight those seeking a different kind of getaway: located in the living room, a hidden secretary writing desk ready for your laptop. A best-selling book and scores of known essays have been penned here. With two decks and an upper picnic/sitting area, there are plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy the surrounding redwoods. The side deck affords the most intimate and private space with comfortable lounge chairs. Perched high above a soothing hillside stream, the forest sounds can be heard while taking in a lazy afternoon. Terraced behind the TreeHouse at the top of the property, is a sitting area anchored with a charming redwood picnic table. It’s the perfect place for larger outdoor snacking, family meals, and unwinding with your favorite beverage! Situated high above the street, views of the remote lightly traveled hillside road are buffered through the trees providing a delightfully secluded feel. A charming home that's perfect for 2-4 people (the sofa folds out for additional bed space), the TreeHouse is nestled in an array of trees as fragrant as they are majestic. Welcome to a new experience, one you’ll likely want to make a lifelong tradition!
The TreeHouse spot is truly magical. In fact, the whole neighborhood is. A forest cover of evergreens (mostly coast redwoods) provide a constant feeling of shade throughout the day, with a coolness of temperature that's constant, and fog that's sometimes present. Light changes (sun does break through in several places), throughout the day, provide a variety of experiences. Textures, colors and aromas will greet one as they stroll the narrow, winding roads throughout the neighborhood. The Terraces has friendly neighbors and visitors (several with sweet dogs). It's a cool place.
  • We loved our 2 day stay here. David’s instructions were very accurate and we had no trouble finding the cabin. It was very clean, comfortable and cozy. The bathroom is very small, especially the shower. For a weekend it works, but not a longer stay.

    Gloria2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • David's house is great! It's nicely situated next to a creek for added peacefulness and privacy. The fenced yard is a terrific bonus if you travel with a canine, as I did. We took several walks on the quiet roads around the house, and down to town and the public beach. The floor-to-ceiling windows display a lovely view of the redwoods, and you can enjoy them up close too from the three outdoor spaces. The house was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom is snug, but comes with plenty of towels. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots/pans, silverware and plates. David was a great host -- communicated quickly and provided thorough directions. Would love to stay here again!

  • The Treehouse is great! It’s perfect for two people and very cozy. It’s off the main road and canopied by the redwoods so it’s very cool and quiet. David was excellent at providing local tips and answering any questions that we had. We would definitely love to come back!

    Brooke2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • David was a fantastic host and the Tree House is a special spot. I can see now why many people love this peaceful getaway nestled in the woods.

    Sam2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved David's place. We spent a relaxing weekend to celebrate our anniversary. We were very comfortable, loved the fire and the gorgeous surroundings. Our dog was super comfy there too. I appreciated David's recommendations of places to go. We recommend Coffee Bazaar 100%, and they also let dogs inside! Armstrong Redwoods is breathtaking, but the woods around David's house are also stunning. We can't wait to come back in summer to enjoy the deck!

    Jules2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • David is an amazing host - quick responses, understanding, great local tips, and truly wants all his guests to feel welcomed. The space was a bit smaller than we anticipated, but WOW the community it is in. Definitely take a long stroll around the neighborhood just to stare at the houses and breathe the fresh air. Quick walk to an adorable downtown. Definitely head David's advice and do not drive to the property in the dark... he isn't saying that for nothing. Amazing space and I cannot wait to return!!!

    Sophia2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • A very beautiful cabin in a very secluded spot. Could not have been in a nicer, cute town with plenty to do around. There is a small creek next to the house that you can hear all night and is very peaceful. Be very careful on the roads up to the cabin, the roads are a little old and going up my cars oil pan broke. Luckily there are plenty of nice mechanics around. I would stay again, and I will. Absolutely gorgeous.

    Xavier2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect home base for a long weekend spent exploring Sonoma County. Clean, cozy, great kitchen, surrounded by giant redwoods. Even though it feels remote, the location is really convenient: for example, there's a cafe with amazing Israeli food walking distance from the cabin (Lightwave Coffee).

  • Great place, lovely outdoor area, very clean, great kitchen appliances. Only downside is hearing a bit of street noise and a little close to the next door neighbors.

    Simone2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This was a nice place to stay if you are looking for a little getaway. The host was accommodating, friendly, and quick to respond. The only complaint I had was that the hot tub water could have been cleaner.

  • Wonderful place built into the side of a hill amidst the redwoods. Comfortable beds & bedding, great well-equipped kitchen, nice open concept. Fantastic back deck and hot tub. No TVs a big bonus. Took a bit of reorganization to have room for our food/supplies in the kitchen, but otherwise a nice layout, compact and yet still with privacy for 3 bedrooms. Would definitely stay again.

  • Wonderful place! Great getaway! I wish we could of stayed longer!

    Leda2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was perfect for our trip in the Sonoma region. Beautiful fall colors, close to the wineries, nice spots along Russian River and the beaches, and Guerneville was a cute little town. Kathy and Jim are perfect hosts.

    Russ2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy and Jim's place is just as charming as it looks in their listing. Beautiful surroundings, as it's nestled among the redwoods—and the fenced-in yard was the perfect place for our small dog to explore. Kathy and Jim are thoughtful, communicative, easygoing hosts; when my husband I met them, we realized we'd encountered a warm couple who enjoyed globetrotting and hosting guests on AirBnB as much as we do. A perfect experience!

Elements is a sophisticated estate compound set on landscaped acres, hidden amongst redwood groves. Your friends & family will find privacy and seclusion while being close to all that wine country has to offer. A variety of unique amenities will make your stay unforgettable: a jetted hot tub in a circle of redwoods, a fire pit, several decks & lounge areas, a yoga/exercise studio, an outdoor shower, a board game collection, fast internet and 150+ channels of sports/movies
Note: Due to concerns about COVID and a desire to ensure a safe and comfortable stay for all of our guests, our cleaning staff is following CDC cleaning guidelines for the foreseeable future. Elements is an exclusive private estate nestled in the magnificent redwoods of Sonoma County. There are four detached structures on the hilly grounds and expansive decking to comfortably accommodate large groups. You'll be located within minutes of the beaches of the Sonoma Coast and the vineyards of Russian River Valley, a short drive to many award-winning wineries, and be amazed by the solitude that surrounds you. The grounds have been landscaped with indigenous grasses, bushes, and ferns, highlighting the phenomenal native redwood trees on the property, including a magical "runt" redwood tree that's over 500 years old. Pathways and decks wind throughout, offering innumerable walks among ever-changing scenery, including a serene pond with creek, an antique stone masonry fountain, and an enchanting seasonal waterfall to delight and awaken the senses. The entire retreat is professionally lit to a stunning degree, complimenting its allure day and night. Entertaining family and friends is effortless and everyone can still have their own privacy, while gathering together in the large entertaining areas. All 4 bedrooms, with a total of 3 king and 1 queen beds (one bedroom per room), are furnished with high quality linens and down comforters. There is also 1 queen pull out bed in the living room of the main house, as well as an inflatable mattress that can be used in the yoga studio if required. Elements is family friendly, complete with pack-and-play, booster seat, and a variety of kids toys and games. The redwoods are a wonderful place to enjoy quality time with family. The Main House or "Lodge" This contemporary craftsman structure with an open plan great room, combines a spacious and refined living room, dining room, and kitchen. A reclaimed redwood sliding door leads to the master bedroom with an exceptionally comfortable king bed (many have said that it is the most comfortable bed they've ever slept in), a walk-in closet, and its own en suite bathroom with large soaking tub. The hallway leads to the large guest bathroom, featuring a 3-head spa shower and a walk-out to a Zen-inspired private garden. An office with desk and printer round out the Lodge. The fully appointed kitchen is centered around a granite island and can accommodate multiple chefs. Appliances include a professional six burner gas Wolf range/oven, microwave drawer, refrigerator/freezer, wine fridge, serving trays, and complete dinner service featuring the sort of tableware you might find in a high-end restaurant. A large corner pantry is stocked with a variety of seasonings and other basics to assist you in cooking up whatever you desire. The Lodge is replete with fine attention to every detail, from the refectory-style dining table and rustic chairs (seating for 8+), the remote-controlled indoor fireplace, the deep Restoration Hardware leather sofa, Gumps leather chairs, and custom designed decorative Portuguese candle chandelier, which radiates throughout the main living area. West Terrace, BBQ, and Fire Pit or "The Outdoor Living Room" The West Terrace, accessed via a wide sliding door from the main house, is the essence of indoor/outdoor living and is an example of what makes this estate so unique. The outdoor kitchen and gardens were crafted from river stone years ago when the property was a summer campsite. It now features a state-of-the-art gas BBQ, sink, lighting, and seasonal herb garden. With outdoor speakers and the original river stone fire pit, it's like an outdoor living room and is a great place to enjoy a warm day or cool evening in the company of friends and family. The massive outdoor dining table (seating for 14+) was custom made from the center cut of a local redwood tree. It’s the perfect setting for a large family gathering or a romantic retreat. The Guest House or "Spa House" This house has its own outdoor terrace and private seating area under a large Japanese Maple tree. Its windows have beautiful garden views as well, but with different vistas, giving those that stay a unique atmosphere and privacy. The guest house has two bedrooms, one with a king size bed, and one with a queen size bed, each with their own private entrance to the outdoors. Both rooms feature cable-connected HDTVs, and the larger of the two rooms has its own coffee bar. Both rooms connect to a common hallway that leads to the oversized bathroom. The Spa House gets its name from this multi-shower-head bathroom which offers a mini spa experience off a secluded and private patio. The Pine Cabin The cabin is everyone’s favorite. The pine-paneled interior is a classic recreation of the traditional summer camp cottage, only this time with its own en suite bathroom, a luxurious king size bed, and a heated outdoor shower. The cabin also features its own seating area, adjoining a large deck with views of the redwoods and gardens. The Yoga/Exercise Studio This quaint structure is situated in the quiet of the lower gardens, accessible via a Japanese wood walkway. The deck off the back offers another sitting area with meditative views. The studio offers yoga mats, blocks, adjustable weights, mirrored wall, sound system, outdoor seating, and more. When you hike from the main compound, pathways become forest trails beckoning further into remote adjoining terrains still on the property. Austin Creek, with its numerous swimming holes and opportunities for river wading, is delightful in summer and winter alike. The Redwood Hot Tub At the center of the compound is the hot tub area, featuring a circular jetted hot tub situated in the center of an ancient ring of redwood trees. It’s truly a magical location: A soak in the hot tub at night lets you link with nature and the starlit sky, a wonderful harmonious experience. The Treehouse Terrace There is a tranquility and peacefulness to this place that feels unique and special in all our worldly travels. It's one of those things that must be experienced to be appreciated. Perched at the top of the property, this deck offers some of the best views of the entire estate, and has this amazing restorative vortex energy about it - difficult to describe, but many of our guests have agreed they can feel it too. Regardless, the view is worth the visit. Well Connected Located throughout the property you'll find all the latest that technology can offer including HDTV’s, a full range of cable programming (On-demand, ESPN, Sports, and more), Blu-ray DVD players, and high speed internet (150 Mbps). In the main house, you'll find a curved OLED HDTV with an Apple TV, cable TV, as well as free movies on Netflix, On-Demand, and more. Other bedrooms feature HDTVs with cable as well. The whole property is served by a powerful wireless system, with range throughout the grounds including the decks. For added convenience, built-in USB chargers are available in all bedrooms and the office. A complimentary Level 2 EV charger is available for your use during your stay to charge your electric vehicle. A Sonos sound system, complete with Pandora, Spotify, Amazon Music, and more, offers music and entertainment in the main house and hot tub area. All of this technology is here to serve your real world reality while you enjoy the calm and escape that this retreat provides.
Cazadero is an historic town located along Austin Creek in the Russian River area. In the 1800's, it was a luxury hunting lodge for travelers from San Francisco, with daily train service. Today the town is comprised of a fantastic old-time General Store, Hardware Store, Jeep Repair Shop, and a post office. You're a short drive from quirky Guerneville, the largest town in the area. Here is where you'll find Safeway and numerous foodie restaurants, shopping, and bars. Monte Rio, Jenner, Duncan's Mills, and Sebastopol are also within a short drive away and offer fun activities. Many guests spend a day floating down the nearby Russian River in summer, wine tasting at the many boutique wineries in the beautiful Russian River Valley (known for its Pinot and Chardonnay), hiking among the redwood giants in the inspiring Armstrong Grove, spending a day at the beach, driving along the beautiful California coast, or simply relaxing on the expansive grounds at Elements.
  • This place is magical! There were 8 of us and we all loved it. The kitchen is well stocked and allowed us to have three great meals in the huge dining table. The speakers throughout the main house were a nice touch. Bryan is super responsive and attentive. Thank you! We would stay here again!

    Patricia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stunning location— you really feel like you are tucked away at an oasis in the woods. Lots of space for a group to spread out and stay comfortably (we traveled with three couples and four kids), and also a wonderfully stocked kitchen. Only 20 min from Armstrong redwoods or the Sonoma coast. Would highly recommend and stay here again!

  • This is a beautiful compound. Perfect for multiple couples. I didn’t spend a lot of time looking at the description of the property and made assumptions from the pictures. The main house has one bedroom and two bedrooms. This is where my husband and I spent our stay. There was a second house with a few bedrooms and a bathroom. There was a 3rd unit with just a bed and bath. There was also a separate work out studio. In my haste, I thought we were staying in one large luxury home. Because it was just 2 of us, we didn’t use a majority of the property. Again, this is the perfect place for multiple couples. I’m not sure any one unit would have worked for our family with younger children. The grounds are breathtaking. We enjoyed walking the property and taking in the nature sounds. It was pretty easy to find and the door locks were very easy to use. While in the area, we did the VW Wine tour and that was incredible. We also went in the West Safari and loved it! In addition we had a couples massage in Sebastopol & played golf in the Redwoods.

  • We had a wonderful stay here on our family trip! A lovely house in an absolutely gorgeous location. My 5-year-old had a great time exploring the outdoors and wooded paths. The hot tub surrounded by redwoods is truly serene, and the entertainment area and outdoor speakers were among the best we've ever seen.

    Andrew2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a tremendous time, truly a beautiful home in a beautiful place. Excellent kitchen in which we made beautiful meals, lovely property that we wandered around, and had so many simple and stunning moments, and of course the hot tub was a highlight. The kids loved having their own separate cabins and the the adults loved sitting around the fire late into the night. We would definitely stay again!

  • We had such a great stay at Nama’ stay! It was super clean, lots of space, the kitchen was equipped with all of the things we needed and the hot tub was a great touch! Will for sure stay there again.

  • Beautiful! Clean and cute cabin in the woods. We stayed in March - it gets pretty cold in the house make sure you bring firewood!

  • Beautiful serene setting. Comfy homey feeling. Every amenity you could need. Super clean.

  • Cherie's place is indeed a redwoods retreat. Such a cute cabin on the side of the hill. Quiet and secluded, with easy access to Guerneville and then on to Healdsburg and other winery areas as well as the coastal redwood park.

    Chriss2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot nestled in the redwoods. Everything was exactly described and exceeded our expectations. The only downside that I could bring up is the lack of parking but this is somewhat expected in the area. If you only have one car though this is perfect! Would highly recommend.

  • Beautiful lay out and big window views of the redwoods. Loved the living room and balcony. Favorite part was having my morning coffee in the hammock outside and having breakfast on the balcony table.

  • Wonderful place with a beautiful view. Most comfortable king size bed ever! 4 different outside sitting areas. There’s a fire pit, a deck, another deck with great sunshine, a porch hammock swing, a back area you can see the stars from. It’s very relaxing.

Our house is located on a hill in a quiet neighborhood just above downtown Guerneville. The house has high ceilings, a full kitchen, a large deck, and a yard lined with enormous olive trees. It is a five minute walk to coffee shops and restaurants, two miles from Armstrong Redwoods State Park and a twenty minute drive to the Sonoma Coast.
There are two bedrooms, each with a queen sized bed. Off street parking is available for 2-3 cars (there is no on-street parking in the neighborhood). We live next door and are available if you have questions during your stay. Dogs are welcome.
  • Olive House is a lovely place. Exactly as described, beautiful setting, easy parking, and great location. The two bedroom setup is perfect for 2-4 people. I would definitely stay again.

    Andrew2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the Olive House and our host was always prompt with directions. It is roomy, the kitchen well-stocked for cooking, cozy linens and towels, helpful maps and books of the area, and a great deck and yard for our kid and dog. The neighborhood is fun for exploring and it's close to the beach and redwoods. We went to places Sonia recommended where we could bring our dog. It was a stormy weekend but the stove was warm and the house has plenty of light. Will return!

    Alissa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Olive House was perfect for our short visit to Sonoma County. It was a comfortable and very well-equipped.

  • Clean and charming home. A great jumping off point for exploring the area.

    Diana2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely time at this home. My fiancé and I wanted to stay in Guerneville to celebrate our 5 year(s of dating) anniversary. Arriving and getting in to the house was super easy. Our host checked in to see if we would be getting there after dark and offered to leave the lights on for us. The home is quaint and bright and has a nice deck that we spent a lot of time on. Truly a 5 minute walk to downtown Guerneville which we took advantage of every day. All together a really nice place to stay for our anniversary. Bonus points for being dog friendly and for having a piano 🥰

    Hailey2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The best Airbnb in which we've stayed. The house was spacious, quite comfortable, very clean and the hosts were most accommodating...very highly recommended!

  • Great location, spacious and has everything you would need. Everyone loved the house and it was perfect for our little getaway. They had the lights on and heater going when we arrived. We would definitely rent again if in the area.

1910 river cabin loaded with character of yesteryear, updated and stylized with designer touches. Build a fire & cozy-up indoors next to the glow of wood burning stoves. Deer trail river access directly across the road. Let your cares melt away as you soak in the hottub gazing over winding riverviews. Enjoy the privacy of no neighbors or noise complaints to worry about. 5 min from downtown Guerneville, shopping & restaurants. Less then 15 min to the ocean.
Majestic redwood setting with expansive decks overlooking the big north bend of the Russian river. Paths down the river bank just across the road for fishing, boating, and other river fun. Right above river road- significant noise from passing cars during the day. The Russian river area has so much to offer.
5 min to Downtown Guerneville Across the street from the River
  • Adorable place!! Just like the other reviews say: it’s freezing cold when you walk in; but, find the heaters in the first bed room closets and plug them in. They heat up the cozy place! The decor was cute and the place was perfect! A great getaway and the amenities were perfect! We enjoyed using the antique glasses as we sipped champagne and drank wine during this crazy #COVID time.

    Sabrina2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Driving up from the ocean you’ll enter a thick shadowy forest that hugs the Russian river as it winds up towards wine country. Fern Gully is nestled along this wild country road, set into the hill and overlooking the river through the towering pines. It’s essentially a cabin — two wood stoves are the primary heating source, along with some supplemental space heaters. The flannel robes and extra blankets will keep you cozy, and the well stocked kitchen had everything we needed to grill and cook good meals. Tip: bring olive oil. The space is well designed and very clean, and after getting fires going, it became our little haven for 48 hours. Activities: wine, cooking and playing scrabble. The deck space is dynamic, and the hot tube was perfect after a day of hiking in the Redwoods, especially on the cool, wet March nights we were there. The only downside was the road noise. And it takes some time to get the place warmed up, so be prepared for a chilly introduction. On the other hand it’s dog friendly. Which is always a plus for me!

    James2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a hidden gem. A beautiful little home tucked away in Guerneville. It gets a little chilly in the home, but that’s to be expected, as it’s located right next to the river. And it’s very shaded. But firewood is provided for the fireplace, and extra blankets. I would definitely recommend this lovely little home.

    Gabrielle2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place and great location. Would highly recommend it.

    Meghna2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing spot! Highly recommend the hot tub and stoking up the wood fire. Yes you can hear the road but it’s not overwhelming at night. Traffic is low. Cherie let us check out a little later which we really appreciated. Thank you!

    Rachel2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful little cottage in the forest. Truly feels like a magical getaway. There is a bit of road nose during the day but we did not find it bothersome. There are so many unique and thoughtful touches to this place that make it feel really special. We really enjoyed our stay here and would come back again!

You'll see by the reviews that this is a little magical slice of heaven. We try very hard to keep our 5 STAR rating and you'll see why.
This cabin was transformed in 2011 into a cozy get-away situated in the heart of Guerneville, just and hour and a half North of San Francisco. There are 40 steps to the first level. The first level offers a bedroom with its own private bathroom and walk out onto the main deck. The main deck has a fire pit (duraflame only) and Adirondack chairs for those warm evenings along with a grill for BBQ. The main floor has a living room, two bedrooms and the main bathroom. We have wifi access, Apple TV and a DVD player. There is a redbox in town that you can rent movies or you can use our Apple TV account with 80 purchased movies, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime Videos. The house is heated with a beautiful gas fireplace that is thermostat controlled. The main floor also has a full kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher, stove and microwave. There are two bedrooms with generous under-bed storage compartments and cooling from ceiling fans. There are three additional decks, all completely private above street level. The mid-tier deck has an six person hot-tub, surrounded by redwood trees. The upper deck, above the cabin has an eight person outdoor table ready to accommodate an intimate few or larger party. The top deck has a view platform with Adirondack chairs for quiet reading. Access to the Russian River is just a short walk (less than two blocks) from the cabin. This is a beautiful little cabin in the redwoods with a nice mix of sun coming through the trees. Luxury and nature mixed.
This is a very quiet residential neighborhood. The house is on a double lot with over 100 redwood trees on it. It's like living in a treehouse. Very quiet at night and a great place to relax. Public river access is only 5 minutes away.
  • Excellent stay, highly recommend. The hot tub is great and rooms are nice and equal so no one feels like they get the bad option. The common space is cozy, plenty of room for 4 of us, but likely tight with more. The kitchen was well equipped with basic supplies

    Lecia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great relaxing weekend! Yes, there are 40 steps but once we get to the top it is worth it! It was really nice to have a fire pit, bbq grill, hot tub, and picnic table all on different levels of the deck! The place had everything you needed, you could tell Michael really thought everything through on what visitors need for a comfortable stay.

    Stephen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place basically has everything, you could spend your entire time at the cabin and not need to go out

    Carl2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place has everything you need to get away and recharge. Comfy beds, fireplace, fire pit and a great hot tub. Would definitely recommend!

  • Super clean, cozy place surrounded by trees. Had a great relaxed getaway. Highly recommend!

    Shannon2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and quiet place to stay. Everything went great. Gladly again

    Nina2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a short, but wonderful stay in the cabin. If you’re hesitant about the 40+ stairs, they really aren’t so bad. We just planned in advance and packed what we needed in a backpack, rather than bring in our entire suitcase. The property is beautiful and quiet and the hot tub was fabulous after a day of hiking. I do recommend arriving in the daylight as the road in is a bit narrow and dark. I would recommend this place without hesitation!

    Jennifer2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Parking - for two cars, but a third could fit down the street not to far away. Michael gave good instructions. Checking in- had some trouble with the lock but host picked up right away and made it his top priority. Felt very taken care of. Stairs- yes there are a some stairs to the entrance, but our group loved it. It got us moving as we breathed in the clean fresh air. House- super cozy cabin! It feels small at first, but that’s the nature of a cabin! It’s got three rooms, comfy beds, and the third room is on the second deck with an outdoor entrance. It has low ceilings but it’s got its own bathroom and is very cute. Even in this rainy December weekend, we didn’t mind. The fireplace does heat up the entire cabin very quickly, and was even hot at times. It’s very easy to control, and fun to gather around. We made use of the grill outdoors even with the rain. We made great use of the kitchen, making bacon, eggs, soup, green beans, and the like! Even heated up a pie in the oven. The six of us loved bonding in the cabin, playing games around the cool coffee table. There were plenty of towels for the 6 of us. We made use of the washer and dryer because we got rained on pretty frequently. Outside- the backyard is just gorgeous. Redwood trees everywhere, and lots of areas for us to climb around as we explored in the light rain. We originally wanted to go into Armstrong, but it was too rainy for that, so the backyard area fulfilled our wishes! For a small cabin, it felt like there were so many things to do. It’s not far from town, and a brief walk to the river for a stroll. There’s a safeway in town for groceries and a Starbucks there too. Really fun getaway!

  • Our time at the farm was so sweet and relaxing. The property is so beautiful and the care of Pam and Steve so warm and attentive. We would definitely book this place again.

  • This place is truly amazing. Staying out on a farm with great hosts. The place has a private jacuzzi in the forest and everything you could need. It's not the absolutely cleanest place we've stayed in—and that's to be expected! So don't be shocked if the floors are a little dirty. But the horses, the donkeys, the private little paths, the pond with ducks that have their own duck house. It's all so magical and special and we were so happy to bring our 1 year old here to let him experience it all. The hosts were really welcoming and great. They clearly have a good thing happening here, and are generous with their land and the local community. We will hopefully be coming back!

    Devin2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was a great place for a getaway. The farm is beautiful. It was a pleasure to enjoy a quiet, pitch black evening that felt very far away from the city. The hot tub just off the entryway was a bonus!

    Alisa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Even though pics are just as described, they don’t do this place justice . Apt was spacious yet comfy. Huge shower. Full kitchen . Even extra toiletries in bathroom if you forgot something. Clean. Hot tub right outside door and was awesome soaking under the stars. Short walk to “meditation” area. Plenty of space outside to just chill. Hosts were friendly but also gave us our privacy.

    Yvette2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical place the Pam and Steve have. They were extremely kind, accommodating, and responsive. The sustainable homestead they've created was beautiful. The residence we stayed in was secluded, had a fully stocked kitchen and a very comfortable bed. The hot tub was a welcomed amenity at the end of the day. We will definitely be going back.

  • We had a great stay. The place is quite a magical setting close to wineries and just a small walk to the river. The place was warm cozy and eclectic. Previous reviews mentioned there not being enough cooking supplies so we ended up bringing some of our own and ended up not needing it. Everything was there and the place was kindly warmed up before we arrived. Everything was easy to find, clean.

  • A fantastic house in a beautiful setting! The property was impeccable with plenty of places, both inside and out, to relax and enjoy the views. The house was well equipped, beautifully decorated and very clean. The views from the property are stunning, a postcard picture! We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to come again.

  • Magic madrone is absolutely breathtaking, inside and out. The owners nailed the mid century architecture with clean and thoughtful cozy design, and and the incredible view is absolutely stunning. I was a bit skeptical of the outdoor shower, but once I tried it I never want to have to shower indoors again :) The land in itself is so well maintained and thoughtfully landscaped, it really is a paradise. It’s possible to have a fantastic vacation without ever leaving the property. I would highly recommend this place to others. Worth every penny.

  • Space was exactly as advertised, easy check in, very clean and cozy. Outside shower is even better than we imagined, and the hot tube was amazing in the fog or on a clear morning.

  • This place ended up being the perfect location for me to do my solo retreat. Not only was the location great (killer view of the Russian River and only 15 min from downtown Guernville), the amenities were great. I particularly enjoyed the hot tub and the soaking tub! There was also a great kitchen to cook in. The house clearly had a lot of love put into it. And TurnKey was really easy to work with.
