Holiday Rentals in Hamakita Ward, Hamamatsu

Just booked in Hamakita Ward, Hamamatsu

It is the big house of former farming family for approximately 50 years old. We remade with a handicraft. I want you to enjoy a handmade guest house. There are two rooms on the second floor. It's possible to accommodate three people per room. There is a large living room on the main floor. It's used by local children and local people at times. Our space is great for people who want to have some calm and to get away for awhile.

We are off-the-beaten-track in a quiet location. The beach is easily accessible and close to our house. The rotation of the house is countryside and the forest.
  • Our hosts were very friendly and the (beach) surrounding was fantastic. The accommodation was clean and big. It's good to see that Mina and her husband are contributing in helping and saving sea turtles.

  • Everything was perfect! Thanks again! Best place!

  • Everything! This beautiful couple gave us a home. Besides touring us around their town we created amazing homemade pizzas and laughed in the winters cold over a few beverages, she show us an incredible sunset and her favourite restaurant. Such a chilled and relaxed vibe. They are passionate about the ocean and wildlife and I cant wait to see them again for a summer season... my love to you Mina.

  • Great hosts, great hospitality, had a wonderful time! Making homemade pizzas together in the stone oven was so much fun! :)

  • Lovely and interesting place to stay! Really good advice on a restaurant upon arrival (that we were guided to) as well as a pleasant and interesting stroll along in the beach in the morning.

  • A unique place to stay off the beaten track in Japan: A turtle and beach science museum located opposite a surfing centre! Listening to Hawaiian and Okinawan music at night was very relaxing. The house is a few minutes' drive (but also accessible on foot) from a fantastic beach. We stayed as a group of six, and there was ample space.

  • Mina and Yuzi made me feel so welcome!! They were very kind to me, making sure that I was comfortable and happy in the house. The house is very large and open, it was great to have so much space to enjoy. I used the kitchen to cook and was able to listen to music in the huge lounge. I had cycled for two days along the coast to reach their place, so I was keen for somewhere to relax, and I was really comfortable in my room and nice to have space to chill! I was really shown such generosity by Mina, who spent a whole afternoon driving me around doing some shopping and errands, she really went out of the way to look after me. Best of all, Mina cooked an amazing meal with lots of special dishes for me to try. I made a salad as a poor contribution! It was a memorable evening to share a feast with Mina and Yuzi and to hear about their work with the turtles and their life on the coast. As soon as I arrived Mina drove me to the beach for a quick walk. A great, long surfing beach, but unfortunately I never made it back before I left - had I had more time it would have been a treat to stay over the weekend and to visit the beach and see more local activity. It was just me staying during the week and it would have been nice to see folk (late October visit so a bit off season). Thanks for a great stay!

    Kate2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Mina's House was wonderful! We felt like visiting old friends. When we arrived she picked us up at the train station and at home she cooked the best food we ate in Japan. The conversation with her and her husband was very interesting and informative. As is their interesting and important work with the turtles. They cared for us a lot. It is definitly the best stay in the area, we highly recommend staying there!!!

The entire Totoumi region used to be called the Totouminokuni province in the old ages, and was briefly known as Hamamatsu Prefecture before being annexed to Shizuoka Prefecture. In the Edo era, it also used to be known as the Shusse-jo (Promotion Castle), because many of its feudal lords were promoted to important seats in the Bakufu, the central government at the time. Hamamatsu also has a history as the town of music, mainly due it being home to the beginnings of Yamaha Corporation (now the largest musical instrument manufacturer in Japan), as well as Kawai Musical Instruments. Roland Corporation and Boss Corporation also have their main offices in Hamamatsu. Thus, there is a Museum of Musical Instruments located close to Hamamatsu station, one of the few in Japan. • As always, an excellent stay at Hironori's place. Very convenient, good quality for business, pocket wifi!

  • Close enough to the train station that you can walk there. Hamamatsu Castle, ZaZa mall and several nice restaurants close. A clean modern apartment.

    Janet2017-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Good location which easy to access to many different sight- seeing places and shopping and food and restaurant. The apartment is clean and cozy which are the no. 1 important for guests. We all like it very well and the landlord responded our needs asap and was always friendly to help.

    Wan Wa Tina2017-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Terrible experience! We got there and discovered a dirty room as left by the previous guest. We called the emergency number it was a company number in Tokyo and got someone saying she's a friend of owner and will check why the cleaner didn't do his job then she didn't do anything so we left after 45 minutes and got Airbnb handle the issue. Another "friend of owner" called later and offered to send cleaning and get the place ready after 2,5 hours so we decided to leave back home with the kids sleeping in car because it was already 7:30pm... the owner is clearly a company under a fake persons name... thanks to Airbnb support we were able to get a refund at least!

  • My husband and I were in Hamamatsu for 4 days. Hironori's place is in a great location, less than a 15 minute walk to the train station, plenty of bus lines nearby, and just a few blocks away from Sakanamachi! We cooked a couple nights during our stay, and wish the kitchen had a supply of bowls and larger plates for our meals (there were only small plates in the kitchen, which were not very functional for noodle/rice dishes). If you plan to cook, also plan on bringing some oil and spices as well. Other than that, the place is very spacious and quiet, and we really enjoyed our stay!

    Jenna2017-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Good location and wonderful communications with the host. Close to restaurants which open till late night and 24/7 convenient stores.

    Manlee2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • It's a great place within walking distance to the main station, amenities and groceries. You'll enjoy the walk between the station and the place if you take the back roads. The host responds almost instantly to our queries despite lack of ftf communication. Overall - it was a great stay.

  • The best room ever I had through airbnb!! If you're considering of visiting Hamamatsu, don't think. Just book this room!! It takes a little bit walk from Hamamatsu station(25 min., 1.8 km), but the house is really new and really clean, relaxing. The host is amazing. He's really kind. The room is separated on the second floor.

The best in Japan ! (maybe ^^) But it was really great to stay there for a week. Somewhere between a dorm and a shared-house, it is a very nice place, very comfortable, in a quiet area but quite close to the nearest train station. I also met very friendly people there, and we chatted a lot in the living room. We even had a party all together one night, and on the last day, some of them joined me to do a bit of tourism in Hamamatsu. This week went by so fast, but it was such a wonderful experience thanks to 365BASE! I definitely recommand this place!

  • The owner is a really nice guy. Because of some trouble I booked the room in the morning to check in on that day but I got immediate respond from him. Clean and nice place to stay and it's near to the bus stop.

The price was also very reasonable. If you want to meet a goos friend, then it's the place you should visit!! And the best thing was that he speaks perfect Englsih!

  • Quiet residential area and the room was simply decorated with great restraint:)

    shinobu2017-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Definately worth spending the time! We spend three nights at Joy's place and we only wished to stay longer! We were also very lucky to meet his second half. They are truly warmhearted and open people. The place is located in a peaceful residential area with very easy communication from the train station. Staying there was more than just an accommodation, it shortly felt like being at home.

  • Sayaka and her all family are very very kind. I couldn't even describe with words how kind they are. We talked a lot with each other and it was greeeeeat! And I've never seen that big room of airbnb before. Really big, warm mood, traditional, comfortable room. Also many oranges and lemon trees are all around the house. The dinner they made for us was perfect. Breakfast also. They even gave us some bread to eat when we're walking. Everything of them made us so happy and be touched. I'm surely gonna go there again when I come back to Japan.

  • The house is a little bit far from train station, it takes about 15mins to reach there, but you will enjoy the scenery on the way. Sayaka and her family is nice, We felt sorry that we were so late to arrive here, Sayaka's husband still waited for us at night. Thank you.

  • We were very enjoying the time in Osamu san's house. Here was a wonderful environment for relaxing and exploring the Japan culture. Osamu san is very friendly and easy-going. He picked us up in Nishikajima station and welcome us with a big smile. This place is surrounded by mountain. The air was very fresh and clear. Osamu san also introduced us about the Hamamatsu sightseeing place and we also did farm activity. Osamu san have a huge farm around the traditional old house. So in the day two morning, we dig farm for sweet potato. We also got sweet potato as gift. Therefore, if you are considering where to stay in Hamamatsu, here will be the good choice for you to experience the Japanese traditional culture.

    Queena2015-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • WOULD RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY! Osamu's is the true Japanese Experience. We had a wonderful time staying in his beautiful home. Osamu also helped us research some of the local activities to do and treated us to breakfast. He was very hospitable. The room was affordable and I would choose this location again. Be aware that the best way to get to Osamu's is by car, public transportation may be difficult. The city of Hamamatsu is about an hour away.

    Christopher2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • I'm really happy to stay at Osamu house. He is a 5 stars host, he pick up me to the station and bring me back, he offert to me the breakfast and i really enjoy the japonese style house , it´s beautifull. Also he talk really good english and i really appreciate to share with him.I didn ´ t have time to visit around his house but it seem´s beautifull too.. Anyway Osamu make everything to make me feel confortable and i m gratefull about it.. Thank you Osamu for this expérience.

  • If you are looking for a beautiful quiet place to stay where you can experience genuine rural Japanese life, then this is the place for you. I chose to stay there because i wanted more of a rural stay, and I wasn't disappointed. Osamu's house is a thing of true character. A privilege to be staying in such a nice place. The garden around the house is also great to sit and read, but there is also a river nearby that you can walk along, a forest across the road to explore and many other cool places to check out, including possibly the cutest cafe in Japan. Ask Osamu, he know's where it is. A great place to unwind and take in some fresh country air. Thanks again!

    Jono2017-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice trip countryside in the north of Hamamatsu. There are plenty of beautiful tea and rice plantations around to discover by car. The wooden house is 200 years old and you can have the chance to sleep in an authentic japanese room from the tatami floor to the thin paper walls! Osamu san talks a perfect english and is very friendly. He invited us to participate to the village festival (matsuri) which was really unforgettable and something you can't discover in big cities! A strongly recommended stop during your trip in Japan.

    Julien2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Big house, clean and comfortable. We were offered a big breakfast in the morning. Thanks Osamu : )

    Marco2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very good stay at Osamu-san’s listing. Before arrival I asked him about the possible agricultural experience and he examined what to offer then kindly attended my attempt on having harvest from the farm (very, very delicious potatoes and he kindly let me have them as souvenir!). He has taught me on agri-based life that he is leading, very interesting and widened my view a lot. The large farm is within the premises of Osamu, various numbers of fruits & vegetables are growing. Also he has his forest located nearby, I learned what the maintenance of the forest is like in place. The towns and villages in Tenryu area is peaceful, beautiful and interesting, everybody should be impressed to see how beautiful Keta river water is, 20 minutes of access, good for camping! Heard that originally built more than 150 years ago, the house is purely Japanese traditional style, no doubt that it has a lot of cultural value. For those who like to explore what the traditional Japanese agri-based life is, and who like to experience it under rich nature, Osamu-san’s house is strongly recommended!!

    Satoshi2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
The house is about 200 years old. You can experience the old style living here. We stayed a few days in middle of summer, but nice breeze comes in in the night so that we could rest very well. We enjoyed the conversation with Osamu-san and his mother and his daughter. I highly recommend this spot!!!

  • I've never stayed anywhere more comfortable or welcoming - and that includes my own home! Mika and her family made me feel so at home. They kindly collected me at the station and even showed me around town. In the evening I joined them for dinner and drinks. A real Japanese family home, complete with a very cuddly Shiba dog and cat .

    Rebecca2015-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Mika and her family are really wonderful and kind hosts. They like to share about their culture over a meal, so you can learn a lot from them. Also Mika was always quick to respond, which really helped when I would get lost around the neighborhood. Their dog was also sweet and friendly! Thank you for the good time.

    Jenny2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had a blast here. Shiori and her family are very friendly and made me feel right at home. Even the cat and Ray, the dog, did their part. The room is nicely decorated and the bed comfortable. Shiori had a day off the next day and spent some time going around with me. I heartily recommend this place!

    Thierry2015-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with the Shimotomari family for just short of a week whilst visiting a friend in nearby Hamamatsu. Iwata is just a short 15 minute train from Hamamatsu station and Mika picked me up at the station when I arrived so getting to the house was no problem at all. The family was super friendly and though I was too busy to fully appreciate their company we spent one or two nights staying up talking about all kinds of things. They always had breakfast prepared for me and offered me lift to the station whenever they could, you couldn't find better hospitality anywhere! After my stay Mika even showed me their local shrine where the propreitor and monk offered to follow us up to their head temple by Mt. Fuji so I got a full days amazing sightseeing. The family has the most kind dog and a cat so any animal lover will find great comfort in their company as well :) The house is a little far from the station, 20 or so by foot but if you don't mind that it's a refreshing walk and as said, the family was happy to give me a lift whenever I wanted. The area around is not very lively as such but there are convenience stores and a few shops and restaurants just a few minutes away. I especially liked the PickUp store which had loads of 2nd hand things, a cheap way to bring back home some Japanese culture. I got some extremely cheap Kimono accessories from there. If you're looking for more to do, Hamamatsu is close by and has a lot to offer. All in all, I want to express my most sincere thanks to Mika and her family for having me and making my stay so enjoyable. Thank you!

    David2016-05-08T00:00:00Z

  • We had a truly amazing experience staying at Mina and her husband’s home. They were incredibly hospitable, even going as far as to caravan us to the local public bath house and sending us off with apples and coffee the morning we left. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves and shared the eating area and bathrooms downstairs with Mina and her husband. At first I was nervous about sharing the bathroom with them, but they were very gracious and hospitable. It was not a problem at all. The upstairs had space for three traditional Japanese floor mattresses and a bed separated by a rice paper door. You could Hypothetically fit five people up there, but with luggage and everything it would be a squeeze. There was four of us and it was not problem at all. We felt like we had a very authentic, local experience staying with them and would stay there again if we are ever in Mori-Machi.

Although the house itself is a bit far away from Hamamatsu Station; the hosts' friendliness, impeccable service and welcome; as well as the house's ample facilities and set up, more than made up for it. We spent only one night in the house, but definitely would like to stay more~~ Host family was really nice to us. They explained how to get their house from Hamamatsu, met us, showed their house and even offered us car ride to Hamamatsu, if we need one. Also they prepared delicious jelly and refreshing tea for us in that hot summer day. We played with her super cute children and spent a really good time with her family. When we arrived, Akiko helped us plan our trip. She introduced a great hotspring spot, which is about 10min away from her place; this really helped us relaxed for the day. Her husband drove us to the subway station and ECOPA to see the concert. We really appreciated this. Akiko provided us some traditional Japanese food for breakfast, such as 纳豆. We talked a lot about Japanese culture and some other cultural exchange. It is a really pleasant experience. We both enjoyed our trip in Fukuroi and our stay in Akiko's place!❤️❤️❤️Thank you so much!!!

But the hosts and their children are really what made the stay so good. We arrived later than expected and they still gave us something to eat. • It was extremely pleasant experience staying in this room. I got a lot of inspiration sitting by the window, listening to the breeze and waves outside. The moonlight that was shed on the surface of the lake was so beautiful that I felt healed from inside.

  • Holy cow this place was so beautiful. We only stayed here one night on our trip but the small time we spent here was amazing. We spent most of our night enjoying the view. Shogo was very helpful and accommodating.

  • Both lake view and mountain view on two sides of this vacation apartment, we really enjoyed the stay. The bed is a little bit small for two persons. Everything else is wonderful

  • Nice and clean.

  • This apartment is beautiful and stylish with an amazing view, however if you're not driving/have access to a car whilst here I would suggest looking elsewhere. Very difficult to access if no car but it is doable, just a lot of time waiting for public transport and a lot of walking. Otherwise beautiful place

  • The room was very clean, neatly organized, and relatively spacious. Bathroom and toilet were also super clean and full with high-end amenities. Kitchen was well-equipped with utensils, dishes, glasses, kitchenware, spices and condiments. The view from the room was spectacular. The access to a major freeway was very good, but can be a bit tricky due to a narrow access road which can be easily missed on the first visit. Once you know the road and landmark to its entrance, there was no problem. It was one of the best Airbnb experiences for sure.

  • Fantastic views and great apartment. The beds were quite small for tall people and very firm. The home was beautiful with great kitchen and lovely bathroom. No internet in the home but there was in the foyer. The location was wonderful with lots to do in the area. Summer would be amazing. Shogo was very helpful and answered any questions promptly. Would definitely stay there again

Children sharing the same futon (Japanese-styled bed) with their parents stay for free -please add as infants. It takes 90 minutes by bus from Hamamatsu station to Shibukawa-Oichomae bus stop, followed by a 30 minute walk. There are 5 hotsprings within a 30 minute drive. There are hiking trails nearby. Next to a river that is shallow and safe even for children to explore.15 minute drive from the nearest interchange - Shibukawa Terano.Suitable for couples, solo travelers, backpackers and family.
Located at the loft of the owner’s workspace in a hand-built mountain lodge. (Please see photos) Due to the guestroom being in a loft, headroom is limited to 160cm high. Fan is provided in the summer, oil heater during winter. Summer mornings can be cool due to location next to river.
River with plenty of wildlife (fishes, crabs, turtles) next to house is suitable for children. However, adult supervision is advised due to slippery moss and rocks. 5 minute walk to a waterfall where you can experience Takigyo (waterfall meditation). Please enjoy at your own risk. Moderate level hiking trails nearby.
  • The place is well suited to anyone seeking to get away from hustle and bustle of a small town. We got there quite late but Makoto San was kind enough to wait for us and show us around. The room was smaller than the picture suggested and we had to crawl to move around the room. Albeit it was stated that the headroom is limited to 160cm high, this must be the highest point. The main floor is currently used as an office area which made it quite awkward for us to use the bathroom and or shower space. There's nothing nearby which severely limited our dinner options to cough lollies and hot water.... we recommend planning ahead for this bearing in mind there are no kitchen facilities available. The futon was extremely sanitary and comfortable. Sleeping to the sound of the river was quite soothing. We wish we could have had time to explore the surrounding hills and the waterfall nearby. Overall the area was very tranquil and the essence of nature was predominant. Thank you for everything Makoto san! It was certainly an experience we will never forget!

The structure that made use of old-fashioned style is different from modern hotel, so please understand in advance. Also, it is easy to access because this hotel is located near "bentenjima sta." The guests who like the ocean are pleased with the scenery of Pacific ocean from some rooms.

  • Tadashi took really good care of my friends and myself while we were staying at his home. When he had found out we hadn't eaten, he went out of his way to prepare a small meal for us out of practically nothing! Even though it was out of his way, Tadashi drove me to the airport as well! Tadashi was a really welcoming host and made our stay very interesting and comfortable. Thank you!
