Beach
“Toward the left of Hermanus Town: For amazing walks on a massive stretch of white sandy beach, go to Grotto. It's also great for swimming but a little crowded in summer for our liking. If you're into kite surfing take a stroll over to the lagoon side and check out some epic moves.”

“All the dishes on Burgundy's menu is outstanding. From fresh fish, chicken dishes and perfectly grilled steak to mouth watering deserts, it is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant is in the old harbor with beautiful views of the Walker Bay coast. Join them for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a sun-downer - you will not be disappointed!”

“This is more like a Skiing Hut in Austria, very simple, where the locals have a beer after work. Low prices, you order your dinks at the bar. The best pizza in town, you may also try the Fish Chowder or try Sushi. Geiko shares the kitchen with upmarket ”

Place to shop
“Visiting Hermanus over a weekend? We have an awesome market on a Saturday morning in Hermanus called The Hermanus Country Market, and as far as markets go this one is really something not to be missed. We also sell oysters and bubbles there and there’s lots more local produce and craft on offer. Come for coffee and breakfast, stay for wine and more deliciousness. Local Music, kids entertainment and a true local vibe makes this the place to be on a Saturday morning. Open from 08:00-13:00 every Saturday throughout the year.”

“One of the better Grocery stores with a much larger variety of different items including some imported goods. Their pricing tends to be slightly higher on certain goods but the majority of foods and goods are fairly priced and offer much more than other stores. There is also a Checkers at the Whale Coast Mall - this is one of their best stores, offering even more than the one in town and includes a larger produce/baking section as well as a Restaurant inside. See my Whale Coast Mall reference for the location of this one.”
