“Hugely popular as a pit stop for cyclists, there are also good walks all around the Milk Churn in Rudgwick, around 10 - 15 minutes drive. Family owned, the Milk Churn is a wooden cabin built on the original 1952 site of dairy cows, whose offspring still now produce the milk that Sussex Charmer, one or our local cheeses, is made of. Enjoy a slice or two of Sussex Charmer, some local butter on freshly made scones, or locally produced, naturally made ice cream... what's not to like - in the sun on the terrace, or with a paper, inside on a wet day. Produce is also available to buy, so that's supper sorted, too!”

“Boating has taken place from Houghton Bridge for many, many years. The Riverside Tea Rooms at Houghton Bridge offer a small number of outboard motor boats for hire by the hour which can easily be accessed via their pontoon a short stroll along the river from the Hideaway.”
