初めてでも何処か懐かしい囲炉裏のある古民家。近くに妻籠、馬籠などの観光地があります。渓流釣りの拠点としてもお勧めです。お風呂はありませんが近くに温泉があります。
・We have IRORI(Japanease traditional fireplace:cut in the middle floor) ・It is surrounded by beautiful mountains. It's just like the world of japanease folk tale.
MAGOME,STUMAGO: only 2 stops by train from NOJIRI station, then transfer to bus. ATERA RAVINE: 20minute on foot. Supermaket, convinience store, cafe,a few restrants are nearby.
  • We had an great trip in Japan, but this special place was the highlight of our trip. We spend two nights in this lovely traditional house. We were welcomed at the JR station by Miwas parents who are very sweet and great hosts. Enjoying a hot bath in their house was the best treat after a days hiking to Magome and Tsumago. We want to come back here for sure! Thanks Miwa.

  • Miwa's parents were wonderfully hospitable. Very kind and helpful!

  • Beautiful house in a picturesque valley, Miwa's parents are adorable, I highly recommend it !

  • The most memorable experience in Japan. I stayed here in order to hike the Magome-Tsumago trail . It's a traditional Japanese house , super amazing . Miwa parents made me more than home . They are amazing people . I would highly recommend this place .

  • The house is really nice and is an authentic japanese traditional house. Miwa and his mother came to pick up for us in the train station twice because the first time we had the wrong train and we arrived later. They are very helpful and friendly. We will recomend this house, there are all the things that you need. Thank you very much!

    Marti2015-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We stay 4 nights in the Miwa's house and her family is a really good experience and the place is amazing too. We travel for all Japan and because the experience is so nice we want to stay two weeks more or one month, jajaja. The fathers of Miwa are delicious people. Miwa's family is the best host in Japan and the house have all the commodities and is really beautiful, old style and really authentic. The house to the real people you see when you walk around the village. Nojiri is in the midle of the mountains, but really near to the train station, Magome and Tsumago and Atera Ravine. If one day we come back to Japan sure to Miwa's house.

    Uri2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • The house is a traditional Japanese family house in Nojiri, well located in the Kiso Valley. The fireplace, tatami, sliding doors, ... all add to the charm. Of course the house gets pretty cold at night and the wi-fi is somewhat spotte, then again, it's a traditional house, not a big-city hotel. We had a pleasant stay here, in part thanks to Miwa's friendly communication and the good care of her parents next door. A great experience for whomever visits the area!

    Dimitri2016-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Miwa's place was the best we had in Japan! We reply felt like having a Nice home in the village, and Miwa's parents were so so so nice!! We were provided with all the information we needed for our travel in Kiso valley. Totally recommended!

It is a hut of a charter which is at altitude 1000 m. It is in a quiet place in the forest of 20 minutes by car from JR Ina-shi station, or Ina-shi Bus Terminal. If you run 15 minutes by car, there is also a good quality day-trip hot spring. Outside there is a stove for herb garden, stone kiln and BBQ. There are fun every season such as wood splitting, wild vegetable hunting, playing plows, hunting mushrooms, trekking, playing snow and snowshoeing. It is a perfect mountain hut to experience rural living and mountain living. Recommended for camping beginners and Gran Pink lovers.
You can stay as you live in the mountains. You can experience LOHAS living such as wood firing, stone kiln and field work. Self-catering is possible because the living-dining room has a gas stove, a kitchen stove (stove and oven which burns with firewood) and a refrigerator. The bedroom has 2 single beds, 4 lofted futon beds and 1 living room with sofa bed. It is equipped with a bath and shower.
Once you leave the hut, you can walk, mountain climb and play Sawa soon. The nearest supermarket, convenience store is a 15-minute drive. In 15 minutes by car you can go to a day-trip hot spring "Sakura no yu". The host is operating a reservation-based restaurant nearby. (Closed in winter from late December until late March) Dinner is 3500 yen separately and breakfast is 1,500 yen separately, both of which are required. Because it is limited to 3 pairs a day, reservation is early.
  • This is a great little cabin in a beautiful setting. It's got a wonderful view, surrounded by trees on the side of a mountain. The hosts seem like a really nice family. The cabin itself is in fairly good condition, it has a nice wood burning stove, plenty of pre-cut firewood, and the kitchen is functional. The bedding is comfortable and the decor is fun. There is a bath and shower, but in Nagano there are hot springs everywhere so that's what where we went. About 15 minutes away is a fully stocked supermarket and a 7-11 so supplies are convenient. This part of Nagano, the Ina/Komagane area, is one of my favorite parts of the Japan Alps. There's lots of stuff to do; clear, cool mountain air; lots of rivers and hotsprings; and plenty of lonely mountain roads to just meander and explore. The nearby Komagatake ropeway in Kamagane, about 45 minutes away, is a great place to go up to the top of the Alps and enjoy the view.

  • This cabin in the woods was absolutely amazing!! It reminded my husband of his log home back in West Virginia! The surrounding area is beautiful and quiet! And You can enjoy the sounds of the two nearby creeks! The hosts were superb and super accommodating! They also have the sweetest little son! I am hoping to return to this little get away soon :)

  • すごい楽しかった!This was a great place, and everything was as shown in the photos. The place is up the side of a mountain, very quiet with a stream running near by. There's a mountain trail near by that gives you amazing views of Iida and Ina. We were attracted by the photo of the Pizza oven, and had ourselves a lovely pizza night. (The pizza oven is a bit narrow but the kitchen is equipped with small pans that go inside it). So if you want to cook it's totally doable. If we did it again I think we'd stay a bit longer so we could visit 'petite marche' the hosts' restaurant which is just up the hill. It looked really lovely and inviting and it would have been really great to get to know the hosts better since they are so welcoming. The onsen they recommend is near by and it's fine, but I think i would search for one a bit further away with a better view. It is a bit enclosed. We went in Autumn (Nov) and while a bit worried about the cold, there was both a wood burning stove, and a wood burning oven, AND a kerosene heater so we were very very toasty. All in all, a highly recommended experience, and was exactly what my friends and I were after.

  • This is exactly what we expected from this house. It's a good mix between a chalet and Japanese style. The house is spacious, well equipped, and the 2 bathtub allow you to go as a couple. Even if we didn't meet the owners, they answered all our questions and gave us advice on things to do around, all that in a very good English! Thank you very much

  • We stayed here for one night and wish we could have stayed longer! The home was traditional and had every amenity you could need. Communication was so easy and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to explore the area. We hiked Komagane and this was only about a 15 minute drive away!

  • This place is very nice for everyone, I think. The house is 2 stories building which is large enough to stay 10 members. It's just next to the local road and easy to find. And also, check-in and check-out is done by freely. In my case, I arrived quite late in the evening and it was snowing. Thanksfully, the owner(Mr. Itou) noticed me the weather(snow) and I was able to ask rental-car company to change the tire. Also, he turned on the stove and heater before I arrive there. I really appreciate it. The owner can speak English very well, so there's not any problem in communication. Parking place is just infront of the house and large enough to park 3~4 cars. There's almost every kinds of tools in the kitchen(Microwave, gas-burnner, mini-oven and so on), so it's very easy to cook. If I have another chance to visit Ina, I'll choose this place without any hesitation.

Orchard Cottage is a compact log house, situated on the eastern side of the Tenryu river valley with unobstructed views across Komagane to the Central Alps. ...and yes, there is an orchard (apples) in front of and slightly below the cottage.
Orchard Cottage is a registered "Noka Minshuku" (旅館業許可取得済 -- Farm Cottage) with approvals from the Southern Nagano Kami Ina district and from the Komagane City Fire Service. This self-catering cottage has a fairly large, combined living, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen has an IH hob, kettle, microwave, fridge, a rice cooker ("suihanki") and an oven-toaster. It is also furnished with a full set of crockery and cutlery for four people. The dining table has an extendable "leaf" and a storable bench to allow from two to four guests. The bedroom is furnished with two single beds and there's also a pull-out sofa-bed in the lounge for either an extra adult, or for children (for a maximum of four guests). The main listing is for -3- guests, as we feel that is a comfortable number of adults for the cottage. However, a couple with two children or two couples who don't mind "roughing it" for a couple of days would also work. The bathroom is a modern, standard unit, with a bath which will comfortably accommodate a 180cm/6ft guest. The hot water for the whole cottage is provided by a double solar-panel on the roof, backed-up by an external, gas-fired boiler (for those winter days when the sun doesn't quite manage to melt the snow off the panels). The toilet and changing area adjoin the bathroom. The bathroom is furnished with towels, shampoo, body soap and a hair dryer. There is also a small electric fan heater available to "pre-heat" the bathroom before stepping in for a shower. There is both wired and wireless internet access available (the wired point is in the lounge, wireless covers the whole house).
We are within easy walking distance of the Komagane Silk Museum (which also has a buffet restaurant and a farm shop) and the "Kirinomi" restaurant (open for both midday and evening meals). The "Furusato" (Japanese-style hotel) is next door to the Silk Museum and has a restaurant which is open to non-residents in the evening (advance booking required). The choice of eateries is somewhat wider in the town centre and it's only a 10~15 minute ride by car to get there from our location. A restaurant adjacent to the Komagane Ropeway parking area has some interesting, locally-brewed beer for sale and, if you're interested in whisky, the Mars Brewery has an interesting tour (and tasting) at their site, only a few minutes further down the riverside on the Miyada-mura road. Orchard Cottage is self-catering, but there is a 24-hour supermarket only ten minutes away by car, in Komagane-shi. As usual, there are also convenience stores dotted around the area. We also have a local J.A. supermarket within easy walking distance, but please note that it isn't open after 18:00 or at all on Sundays. We are about twenty minutes by car from Komagane Ski Area, which is usually open from mid/end of December through to March. It has two main slopes, with a children's play area between. The slopes are both fairly gentle, making it an ideal place for families and beginners. There's a ski/board school and equipment can be hired. There's also a cafe/restaurant on the second floor of the main building, providing good views over the pistes while you're taking a break. The "naita" (evening skiing) runs through until 21:00 on normal nights. There are quite a few more challenging runs within easy driving distance of Komagane. Over the mountain (on the Kofu side) to the east there's Fujimi Panorama (visible from the expressway when you're travelling from Tokyo) and over in the opposite direction (on the Kiso side of the Central Alps) there's Nomugi Toge. Those are just two of our favourite runs from the many which are accessible by car from here.
  • This is a fantastic place. The cottage was very comfortable with stunning views. Great location and very welcoming hosts who helped us get the most out of our stay.

  • John and Miyoko's cottage really feels like a home away from. One with a spectacular view, very hospitable owners and very yummy fruit. Plus a very cute dog Ringo-chan. Our little toddler was giving it a hard time, chasing it around the orchard. John took us to the orchard and explained a lot about growing apples. We were able to pluck different varieties of apples and they were delicious. Miyoko also provided us with some figs and grapes and we were blown away by the amazing taste. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but we tried to make the most of our stay by visiting the Kozenji temple, a must-do, and going to the quaint village of Naira. If you are lucky with the weather, the scenery around the cottage is already great. The cottage itself has everything you need to be comfortable, and it was toddler proof. Also a plus for us. The three nights flew by too quickly. Thank you John and Miyoko for a wonderful stay!

  • A beautiful peaceful weekend. The cottage is very clean and the views are perfect. John and Miyoko are very sweet and accommodating. I will definitely be visiting again.

    Joshua2016-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin in Komagane is the bees' knees! Although we did not encounter any bees, but John said they have had bees in the past, just no bees now. John and his wife said they had lived in this cabin for three years, but I think they were lying - the cabin is pristine, it feels brand new. Up on the side of the valley you get a great view of the central alps and even on the hottest day of summer, there's a cool breeze in the evening. Komagane is one of the best kept secrets of Nagano, it's got great scenery and lots of stuff to do. It's famous for fruit picking and you can do that just steps from the door of this cabin. They've got apples and grapes and berries of all sort. We really enjoyed visiting with John and Miyoko about all manner of stuff including agriculture, a background that John and I share. They are really, really nice people. So nice that I don't think John ever seriously entertained my pointers for dealing with pesky neighbors by poisoning their dogs and salting their fields. If you get the chance to have a nice cup of mint tea on the balcony with this couple you would be foolish to turn it down!

    Jason2015-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Host was friendly and knowledgeable of the surrounding area. The Orchard Cottage is very cozy, like new and kept very clean. We loved the all wood construction and finish work. The mountains surrounding Komagane are beautiful and this puts you right there.

    Jared2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • John was friendly and helpful The place is nice, cozy and clean All that one can hope for The house is a bit far from the main attractions but the view and hospitality are well with it

    David2016-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • An awesome cottage and wonderful hosts! There are few accommodations where you can have both, but John's place is the one. The magnificent views of the mountains and the fields are so breathtaking that we could enjoy them for hours by just sitting back on the cozy veranda. Inside the cottage is impeccably clean, well organized and fully equipped, which makes you realize how hospitable and considerate John and his wife Miyoko are. John is a very gentle and calm man with a big smile, and kindly explained every detail of the house. Miyoko is also very friendly and communicative. Each time we met her, she made a good suggestion about where to go, and we could make the most of our two night stay thanks to her suggestion and the earnest John's effort to explain the directions. Well I cannot write everything on here so simply suggest you come and stay at John's cottage surrounded by his orchards patiently cultivated by their own hands. I'm sure you'll find something more than just accommodation there. Thank you, John and Miyoko san, we'll definitely come back!

  • Me and my friends had a unique experience at this 300 years old house in the middle of the house ! The house is amazing, it is almost like a museum as it is really interesting :) The host bravely saved us from the rice fields as we took the wrong direction with the car. It was a very good and memorable moment! If you follow the guide there is no reason to take the wrong way, I'd still recommend to arrive before nightime. The host was very kind and explained us a bit of the traditional habits of Japanese habitants back in time before to let us enjoy the house and also recommended a very good onsen at 20 Minutes driving. I would totally recommend the stay !

  • We had a lovely time! What an experience staying a night in such an old traditional house in such beautiful natural surroundings. Romeo's family were very kind and hospitable. Clean, crisp white sheets and towels! Beds were all made up which was very much appreciated. Recommended :-)

  • Where to begin? Romeo's whole family are absolutely natural hosts who made us feel so incredibly welcome in this property. This is a huge, beautiful, historical property tucked away in the forest and the mountains near Romeo's current house. The whole stay was absolutely unforgettable. The house is beautiful and unique. It's incredibly well-equipped, and can host a couple or a collection of families. The forest and mountains are beautiful. Romeo went out of his way over the course of our entire stay to make sure that we had a great time - he welcomed us into his home, gave us some incredible tips for places to go and things to see, and even drove us to some of them. He and his family are warm people who really do exemplify the airbnb spirit. 100% recommendation and I can't wait to go back.

  • Itoh was an exceptional host who took great care of our family while we stayed with him. The location of this unique property was a highlight of our trip to Japan. Itoh provided transport (and translation) for us to many of the sites in the area. Our visit to a local park to see the cherry blossoms will be a memory we will cherish for years to come. We were after something different for our visit to Japan and getting the chance to meet Itoh and his family was just what we were after (and more). He is a great host and nothing was too much trouble for him. This property is a rustic trip back in time to experience what living in traditional Japan was all about. While it is a little out of the way transport wise, Itoh was happy to make this side of things very easy and communicating with him was easy by phone as his english is great. If you are after something a little different and are prepared to leave the comfort of standard hotels, you will come away with more then expected. Itoh ありがとうございますいます

  • This was exactly the weekend getaway we had hoped for. Ito-san and his family took us hiking and exploring the country side. We ate a fantastic meal cooked in the dining room fire. It is a very rustic experience. The house is old but very welcoming. I would recommend you get the full package. You won't forget it.

Within 10 – 15 minutes walking distance there are several restaurants, hot springs, and souvenir shops. The local specialty is sosu katsu – a breaded and deep fried pork cutlet with the local sauce on top. It’s really good! Just across the main road is a restaurant with a traditional thatched roof and complimentary hot spring foot bath that serves up a great one. Within a 5 minute drive there are convenience stores, supermarkets, a home center, and even fast food outlets if that’s what you crave. Komagane City is situated in the center of Inadani Valley, from where you can see South Alps (Akaishi Mountains) to the east and Central Alps (Kiso Mountains) to the West. The cottage is conveniently located on the side of the valley near to the tourist village. Komagane and the Inadani Valley are full of great things to see and do in all season: -Ski and Snowboard at the Komagane Kogen Ski Resort. This is a small resort with two lifts and a sledding hill, great for kids and families. It’s mostly frequented by locals and is rarely crowded. They offer full-gear rental, lessons, and night-skiing, and lift tickets start at just 2600 Yen. Open December – March. The lifts are just a 2 minute drive, or 15 minute walk from the cottage. If you are looking for more of a challenge there are many other resorts in the area, the world famous Hakuba grounds are a little over an hour away by car. -Hiking and incredible views from the top of the Senjojiki Cirque. There’s a shuttle bus stop within a few minutes’ walk from the cottage that takes you to the Komagatake Ropeway. From there you can ride a gondola to the top of the world and enjoy absolutely stunning views. On a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji! Even in the summer it’s cool enough at the top that you’ll need a jacket and the mountainside is covered with wild flowers. -Nagano is famous in Japan for its fruit, and Komagane is famous in Nagano for having the best. The valley is full of small orchards that will allow you to pick your own. Depending on the season you can enjoy Peaches, Grapes, Pears, Apples, Plums, and a variety of berries. -Hot Springs! There are number of Japanese hot springs in the area, the best is Komakusa no Yu which is just 1 km away. They also serve a good Sosu Katsu. -Family Play Land. Alps no Oka Family Play Land is a camp-site and family attraction with put-put golf, tennis, trails, and all kinds of play grounds. It even has its own hot spring bath. Just a little over 2 km away. -Kozenji Temple. The local temple dating back nearly 1200 years. With its 3 story Bell Tower, the buildings and gardens rival anything in Kyoto. Photographers come from all over Japan to take photos of the cherry blossoms in the spring. About 1 km away. -Adventure! This part of Nagano is crisscrossed with narrow mountain roads leading to forgotten little hamlets. Whether exploring by car or by bike, meandering around the area will put you in touch with nature and surprise you with hidden waterfalls and stunning vistas. The area is very rural, you’ll be amazed that you’re only 150 kilometers from Nagoya.
  • We had such a good time. Mt komitake is incredible as are other sites around the house. It's is in such a beautiful location, esp with the rice fields all ready for harvest. The house is about 3 kilometers from station so if you have no car, there is some walking involved but s good bus service runs. Stay for a few days to really enjoy the area.

  • Saori's little cottage was the perfect retreat from the city for my husband and I. The quiet mountain view and clean air was just what we needed! Soari was quick to respond any time we needed anything, the house was clean, and the hiking trails were in walking distance.

  • We were 3 Indian families stayed at Saori's place for a night during Autumn season in November. Place is perfectly located in between beautiful Japanese alps mountains and you can Enjoy perfect natural view from window. Place was very much clean and with all types of amenities required for a day stay. Location was correctly shared. Parking place was little bit small for big sports car. Saori san's communication was excellent and on time. Availability of pressure cooker for Indian family was surprise for us. Anyone can stay at this place for entire day and enjoy Nagano natural beauty. We highly recommend Saori san's place for 2-3 families stay in Komagane-shi.

  • Saori's place is conveniently located in the quiet area of the beautiful city; very close to the bus station to the ropeway up to Mt. Koma and there are nice Onsen's, great places to see, and good places to eat especially soba and basashi. Even a department store is nearby. The only issue was a parking. The path in front of the house is so narrow and it was almost impossible to park a big car in the premises without running off into the ditch. You could park the car in the nearby park, but then you have to carry the luggage along the unpaved pathway, which you wouldn't want to do especially in raining or snowing. We were only 2 people but rented a bigger car this time, only to find it was a big mistake. So I would recommend you drive smaller cars to Sori's place. Overall, we had a very good time staying at Saori's place. Komagane is a beautiful city with lots of nature and I would like to come back when we find a time.

  • Wonderful house with nice terrace, tatami room, views on the mountains and Rice paddies, quiet and still very central. Shopping, restaurants, onsen, hiking trails all at walking distance and very well explained. Communication with Saori was very fluent. We also really appreciated her kindness when we got in trouble with timing due to an accident with our car. Highly recommend this place!

  • Good place for weekend gateways. Well maintained house with fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. We enjoyed BBQ at their leafy terrace. Highly recommend to anyone!

  • This is a lovely, private house with great mountain and rice paddy views, conveniently located very close to an expressway interchange. Although it feels like you're in a rural area at the house, there are plenty of shops, restaurants, and onsen right down the road. It's a great location to explore tourist destinations in Nagano by car, such as Matsumoto Castle and Kiso Valley, which are within an hour's drive. Saori was a great host; she promptly responded when I sent her messages with questions, the house was very clean, and it had everything we needed.

    Katherine2016-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was very cozy and spacious. It is situated in a very small and quiet town. Our family enjoyed our time spent there. It'd be easier to go to Komagane if you had a car. Saori was also very helpful in every way.

  • We stayed 2 nights at Yoshie's and this was definitely an highlight in our stay in Japan. Yoshie and her husband have been so welcoming and did their best to make our stay pleasant and interesting. The place was as descibed, very nice and clean, in a farm style. Diners and breakfast prepared were excellent too, better than in most restaurants ! Thank you Yoshie !

  • My girlfriend and I stayed with Yoshie and her partner Tetsuro for two nights recently and had such an incredible time. From the first point of contact Yoshie was helpful and friendly, giving us tips and advice on how to get to her property. When we arrived we were greeted and introduced to their beautiful 16 year old Shiba Inu dog and then taken to our seperate space from the house. It is very traditional and peaceful, with everything you need for a perfect stay. You have matts to sleep on, though they are really comfortable and we slept soundly on them. Yoshie is an absolutely amazing cook and feeds you generously, meal time with she and Tetsuro was a really special part of our trip. The shower was located inside their house, though they are more than accomodating when you need to use it. They were also very helpful with suggestions in where to go during our stay, telling us about good hiking spots and sight seeing locations. Their garden and home are also really beautiful and inviting. We are definitely going to return next time we are in Japan, if you are considering staying you definitely should! Thanks Yoshie and Tetsuro!

  • It was a very comfy and scenic place to stay. Ms. Yoshie was informative and we learned a lot about the sightseeing spots around Senjojiki from her.

  • Great, relaxing place. Yoshie is an amazing host! They helped us also a lot with ideas and suggestions on where to go hiking off the beaten track.

  • Harigatogosaimas! I had such a great time in Mother Earth farm stay. It was beautiful to spend one night in the mountains with you guys and to see that there is still people living the real life. As I said, I will be back. Big hug, Adrian. (Oshika was beautiful too)

    Adrian2016-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Yoshie san is very kind and funny. If you like to relax in the countryside, love nature and eat vegetarian this is the perfect place for you.

    Luca2017-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 2 days at mother earth farm and had a wonderful time. Not only are Yoshie and Tetsuro very warm and friendly host, who did everything possible to make us feel good - the room in a separate pavilion with toilet and basic kitchen is very nice and quiet, the garden wonderful, the food delicious...and we had a wonderful trip to the city nearby, on the top of the mountain, saw a wonderful temple. Short, this is the perfect stay for a couple of days off the beaten track. Thank you again for your wonderful hospitality!

    Vanessa2017-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying with Yoshie and her husband,Tetsuro. Her cooking was delicious and we enjoyed stroking their pets. I was really pleased that we had a porch we could sit out on. It faces away from the main house, so is pleasantly private, and you can see their flowers and veg. I was delighted that they had lots of books there, both in English and Japanese, as well as two acoustic guitars. This was perfect as one day of our stay was very rainy. The house is in a very rural area, and while there is not too much to do in the local village, it was fine by us as we were happy to take it easy. There are places around the area where you can go hiking or to appreciate the nature of the countryside, though it would be convenient if you had use of a car to do so. I definitely recommend spending a few days at Mother Earth. It was very relaxing and rejuvenating.

This traditional Japanese house is more than 100 years old. Has slight renovations, toilet and bath are electric with heating. It is located in front of the Nakasendo path which is one of the historic highway taken by merchants, samurai and feudal lords to Kyoto from Tokyo.
Spacious traditional Japanese architecture. Upstairs and downstairs, Good for 2-3 bedrooms.no wifi in the house. You can use wifi Nearest convenience store(7-eleven)
Nakasendo path passes through this town, and is just outside the house. A few steps away from a traditional Honjin, historic hotel/rest stop. It is open for tourist. Yoshinaka Minamoto, is one of the historic feudal lords during the Heinan period. There is a Yoshinaka museum in the area very close. Soba noodles is one of the specialties in this area, better try it. :)
  • Really nice traditional house in a beautiful region - a great place for a quick get-away to the countryside. There is no wifi but there are two relatively close (20ish mins walk) seven-elevens which have free wifi!

  • This is a great spot for the value. There's not much to do in Miyanokoshi so plan on visiting the neighboring towns. Nojiri has great hiking, Narai and Kiso Fukushima have great restaurants and shopping.

  • A much needed stop over in a quiet village in Kiso valley. Just near the station so easy to get to. It felt like a rustic home with plenty of history. Arigato

  • It was nice to stay in original japanese house. It was like in a museum, but you could touch everything. Very spacious. The host is nice and helpful. The house is ideal base when you drive through Kiso valley. I believe that you can also manage to reach places of interest by train and bus. Kiso Valley is worthy visiting, especially if you like to hike, but you can also buy hundred of souvenirs, visit small museums in traditional houses, try local food and bath in onsens.

  • We spent a week at this amazing old traditional Japanese house and we couldn't have been happier. The communication with the host was brilliant. The house has all you need to cook and relax. It's the kind of place you miss once you move to the next stop of your holidays. We would have loved to stay more!!! I highly recommend :) just to be objective, the only - point is no wifi, but for us it was great, since we could reconnect with nature! Thank you so much :)

  • We loved it at Hugo and Mari's! We felt so lucky to have found their place and can definitively say that our three night stay with them was the best part of our trip in Japan. Not only was their site a perfect relaxing retreat tucked into the mountains, but we were so comfortable there as they welcomed us in and treated as family. We will keep in touch with them and are so happy to have met such kind and fun people. We had breakfasts and dinner there and it was always delicious! Coming without a car worked out very well too as they picked us up and dropped us off from the train station (easy from Tokyo - 3.5 hours) and, one day, even brought us to the bus station; the starting point to a beautiful hike nearby with a cable car (Mt. Hoken). We also happened to be there during a festival weekend for the town which was an amazing experience as they took us with them. Our tent was incredibly comfortable (the beds were really nice!) and they provided us with more than we would ever need (hair products, soaps, lotion, coffee, tea, even pajamas that we were really excited about!). If you get the chance to make it to theirs, don't hesitate to take it!

  • During my stay with Koichiro&Yoshie's I experienced the real country life in a beautiful spacious traditional Japanese house. The ho8se is located in a quite town surrounded by majestic mountians. Yoshie and Koichiro were kind and warm to me and had all the information i needed to enjoy exploring the area. Yoshie even contacted her friends to find the best one day mountain hike for me. Yoshie was always checking on me and even cooked me a delicious Japanese curry dinner. She made sure the house was cozy and warm and helped me catch my train when i was running late..I really felt part of the family. Thanks Yoshie and Koichiro.

  • The experience to stay here is wonderful and fantastic. The host pick me up at JR Tatsuno Station even I arrive so late. And I was so suprised that Mrs. Yoshie also take a welcome board with my name on it. The location of the house is good, just 1 minute or more from JR Tatsuno Station. And the hosts are very hospitality, the comunication is not a problem as well. The room is also clean and comfortable. Strongly recommended.

  • Yoshie-san and Kochi-san were great hosts. The house itself was spacious, well-equipped and very clean. Yoshie-san was very responsive in her communications with us and offered some helpful suggestions about what to see in the area. We travelled around in a car. Given the location, it would be more difficult to get round using public transport, but not impossible.

    Emily2017-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • Decided to stay in Yoshie's place to stay in a peaceful and serene place , away from the bustling crowd we see in cities and glad I made the decision. Though it was first time in Japan , Tatsuno was a beautiful small country side town / village. Nothing big as a tourist spot, one can visit Matsumoto nearby or kamikochi or Narikore for a hike maybe , 1 -2 hrs by train from Tatsuno, but what was remarkable was Yoshie's place and her care. I'd strongly recommend the place to anyone who wants to spend a laid back holiday , Yoshie is very caring and it feels like family when you are there ... She is very responsive through messages and always on the lookout for safety. She helped plan my vacation to nearby places and was very thoughtful in her approach. Small things like dropping you off the station, making sure you reach or arrive safely, esp since I didn't know Japanese and this was first time ensures that you are in safe hands. It's an authentic Airbnb experience. House was very comfortable and as shown in pictures , it was very refreshing to live in a traditional japabese wooden house , very safe locality and get comfortable , locals and foreigners looking for a peaceful time , with and looking to make great friends with nice people and hosts like Yoshie and her family should consider this place. More than the pleasure of seeing tourist attractions, it gives a different warmth and happiness to be in the midst of good and caring people like Yoshie. Strongly recommend for anyone looking for a laid back holiday with family or solo or finishing a book or painting or just wanting to de-stress from busy work and rejuvenate. Felt really positive and having good vibes after leaving from this place, thanks a lot Yoshie for your wonderful hospitality and great care, felt like being with family and had a great time overall. Hope to see you soon. Regards Shankar

  • Great location between the Japanese alps for hiking and sightseeing. Very wel equipped traditional Japanese guest-house. Great host family, are really willing to help you.

  • Yoshie-san is the sweetest airbnb host ever. From the time prior to my arrival right up to my departure, she never failed to assist me in whatever queries i have. in fact she even took it upon herself to recommend me places to see and checked on the train schedules for me. She walked me to the station to ensure i took the correct train and even asked how i’m doing amid my day out. The house was super clean, everything you need are there, the bed comfy and it really is a traditional house kinda deal. i love this place and hope to come back again! Thanks again, Yoshie-san ^^

The door separating the room is said to be the western door made of Kiso tree. The thick large beam is made of hands, not machines, because it is an old thing.
There is no house store surrounded by flowers and trees. Please eat and shop in Kiso town.
  • Beautiful location, half an hour walk from Kisofukushima station, great if intending to walk Nakasendo trail. Chiyoko-san is a beautiful host, great communication via email and translation app. Comfortable futon and relaxing space in separate annex building.

  • After staying in so many cities this was a great little retreat. It's like your own little cottage in the woods, so peaceful. I walked from the train station with my backpack since I was staying two nights. For a shorter time you could leave your big luggage in a locker at the train station to make the walk easier. There are taxis too. Definitely recommend this place, the host is so sweet too.

    Gwen2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice place in the forest. Surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. The host was so lovely and we communicated via language translation apps and she offered anything we needed. The house has all you need and is cosy. Half an hour walk into town so enjoy the walk, or get a short taxi ride. Thank you for our stay! Great to meet you

    Madelene2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great night staying here. It was a separate building with its own small kitchen area, living room and bathroom. Plenty of space for the two of us! Location was very secluded up a hill out of town, only a 30 minute walk from convenience stores etc. Host was very welcoming and we managed to communicate well with a translation app.

    Constance2017-04-09T00:00:00Z
  • Big and beautiful house in a calm neighbourhood. The room are very spacious and comfortable. Mrs Hayashi is very welcoming and nice and dynamic, she did help us with our taxi reservation and with other things. She doesn't speak much english but understand it rather well and use very well her translator (first and last time i saw a usefull japanese-english translator, big up!) We made a reservation for a breakfast and it was a traditionnal style breakfast, very good and copious We went to the Minshuku by foot but it's definitely not the best option as it is a 30min walk alongside a big road and the footpath pavement is not very good. Better to take a taxi (no buses are going this way). We really enjoyed our stay there !

    Aurélie2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The neighbourhood was really nice, since the only neighbours are trees. The host herself is a very nice person and really like to talk with you. If you don't understand Japanese this is troublesome but (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) talk will help you. The place is clean and quite large. If you ever find yourself in Kiso-Fukushima, go here!

    Gijs2016-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Matsuo Inn. It is about 25min walk from the station and is a good spot for exploring the Nakasendo hiking trial. She is an excellent host and served us tea every day. English could be better but she has some good (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate skills that solved all our problems.

    Tim2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Communication in english was difficult, but host was very friendly. Location is on a hill and basicaly in the bushes, so lots of nature and nice view. There's also a nice garden outside. It's 30min walk from the station but the town also has taxi.

In the neighborhood there are one of the 4 major offices in Japan, Fukushima Seikatsu, Yamamura Rikkyo, Kiso Yoshinari 's Bodaiji Konzenji, and Bunka Shimakazaki Fujimura' s sister 's wife' s marriage. Please tour around Kiso starting from Minshuku Matsuo. I am recommended to accompany a pet, a family traveling with a child, and a pet. You can also cook your own meals. This room is away.
  • Chiyoko-san was a wonderful host, from the warm tea that she welcomed me with to the beautiful In-Law I stayed in that night it was a real treat in a marvelous part of the Japanese countryside! Great escape from the modern world and all around good experience!

    Robert2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • I'll just reaffirm the earlier good reviews: we had a great time here, not least because the hostess is a darling, sweet and considerate. The place is self contained, with bedroom, living room with basic kitchen, enclosed veranda with bathroom attached. One bed and one mattress on tatami. Mentioned in two reviews (but not the listing) were breakfast and an onsen, which we did not see; there is a small bath and we kindly got tea everyday. The supermarket at the bottom of the hill is very handy, as you come by there on your walk from the train station and can pick up things for dinner and breakfast. Overall, a good place to stay made great by the lovely hostess.

  • Kiso-Fukushima station (the bus for Mount Ontake starts there) accessible by foot. Very calm. The host was very kind and provided me with a lot of useful information. The room is in an independent small house, with everything needed, what I appreciated.

  • This place is gorgeous. Its tatami (which I love), very spacious - a bedroom, a living room, a sun room, and separate bathing room, Japanese style. The host speaks no English at all. As with my experience of all Japanese, was very kind, and wanted to make sure I had a good experience. The price is fantastic, expecially considering what you can pay at other facilities in the area. Its a 5 minute ride from the train station - cost ¥1,000. I highly recommend staying here. Its next to a lovely creek, amidst nature, and detached from the main house.

    Sutara and Steve2016-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • One word. Amazing. The room was a traditional Japanese side house. Private bedroom, kitchen / living room combo and a side bathroom. There was even a little terrace area. To make it the best thing ever upon arrival I was given a snack and some green tea and the bed had a Yakuta for me to wear around the flat. The woman who runs is speaks poor English but it's 2016 and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate works wonders, we even had a good laugh about it. I would totally, unconditionally and wholeheartedly recommend anyone to stay here.

    Jacek2016-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • I really loved our stay in Kiso Fukushima. We expected just a room in a house, but we stayed in a lovely little house, with bedroom, little kitchen, serre with 3 chairs and bathroom. You could just sit there and enjoy the mountains and the blooming trees. 千代子 was very nice and friendly. She helped us with a lovely walk in the mountains of Kiso Fukushima and we walked to the 40 meter high waterfall. The host brought us tea and cookies and we talked with the translater. For everybody who is doubting.. Go to Kiso!!

    Annelies2017-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very sweet host who gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home in the cottage. She communicates using a translator app which works wonderfully. The cottage is a self contained unit with living, bedroom and bathroom. It is peacefully located in the forest in the beautiful Kiso valley, though still within 30 minutes walking of the Kisofukushima station. A large supermarket with fresh produce is 20 minutes walking. Exploring the Kiso town and the top Tsumago-Magome hike are easily done from here.

We are located at the 1000m altitude in the foot of high mountain. It is nice and cool in summer and surrounded in beautiful nature ,yet located conveniently close to highway, 10minis.
We offer 2 rooms. You can either rent one room or both for more guests. One of these room (1F)has a single bed and a semi-double sized bed which can be used to co-sleep with a small child. (Kid under 2 years old is free with a paid adult) We have a common bathroom (toilet, tub and a shower) and a separate toilet for guests. There is Onsen house near by (5mins drive which we can drive you there). We will be sharing living room, sun room and dining area.
There are a mountain bike course in the back for avid sports enthusiasts, a gondola ride to the top of near by mountain and a nice trail to enjoy. We are also located close to the famous Suwa shrine and Matsumoto castle.
  • This is my first use of Airbnb. Choosing Hatchan's house is a lucky coincidence to me, that it became the best part of my journey. I came here for watching SUWAKO-HNABI show. Hatsumi and Ken helped a lot on tickets booking and route design events. They drove us to and from Fujimi Station. And in their mountain foot villa we spent happy time with the whole Yoshida's Family. They are all hospitality and polite. The wooden house made by Ken is so stylish with fantastic mountain view. I also like the room and the breakfast. It's a pity that I only stayed one night. I'm even planning to go there next year. I wanna go to meet the wild animals, take a look at the mountains around, try the onsen nearby, and talk more with Hatsumi and Ken.

    Irene2016-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed two nights in the very nice house of Hatchan. Her family is very kind. They picked us up at the station and they helped us to start our hike up to the mountain. We also shared a good time in an onsen. We discussed many topics and enjoyed the very good food they have prepared for us for the breakfast and dinner. We have appreciated a beautiful mountain view on the veranda. The most important: we were greeted as friends in a family. Thank you very much.

    Olivier2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The hospitality shown by both Hatsumi and Ken was fabulous, completely beyond expectation. Their home is lovely and very welcoming. We were collected from the train station and treated to a beautiful home cooked meal, followed by a visit to Fujimi Panoramic and morning of hiking. Staying at Hatsumi and Ken's home has been a highlight of our visit to Japan and we certainly hope to visit again.

    Kerrie2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house with design. Very quiet neighbourhood with stunning view. The host is friendly and guided us to the firework festival. They even kindly drove us to the station. We definitely recommend this place. Hope to stay there again.

    Natalie2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Hatsumi and Ken made us feel like guests of honor at their magnificent place in the mountains. We had great conversations about Japanese culture and cuisine and the world affairs. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully served. We felt privileged to have stayed at Hatsumi and Ken's place. We will try to come back.

    Max2016-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Hatsumi-sans and Ken-sans place. Everything was perfect. The rooms were clean, we received a very warm welcome and were helped a lot with the preperations of our activities in the area. We will definitely come again!

  • We were very lucky we booked a night to stay with Hatsumi & Ken. They were the greatests hosts and made us feel at home immediately. Their company was so nice because they speak english very well. We were surprised with an excelent dinner, like we were in a very good restaurant. The view from the veranda over the Japanese mountains was stunning. We also visited a nearby onsen, I was very lucky that Hatsumi wanted to join us, because I didn't know the onsen etiquettes. Overall it was a very relaxing time.

  • Hatsumi-san and Ken-san are wonderful host. They gave us a perfect vacation with their nice house and great hospitality. You can completely relax with the beautiful scenery in front of the retreat house and the warm atmosphere the host has. The guest room is clean and cosy that will assure a good sleep. If you access their home by train, they will pick you up to the nearest station. There is a hot spring spot around the house. The air is pristine. Highly recommended!

Dear potential guests; I have had to block the listing a while I get permission from the Japanese authorities to be an "official" lodging facility! I am sorry if this puts anyone out but I should get permission shortly. Please contact me for more.
Old post and beam construction. Loft bedroom. Cozy living room. Musical instruments. Compact kitchen with essential utensils. Wood stove (first load of wood gratis. Semi outdoor bath (you have to go outside to get to it). Brand new toilet
Old neighbourhood surrounded by rice paddies and bamboo forests. There are some good restaurants and a supermarket and liquor store within walking distance.
  • We spent some wonderful days in this special place. Although the weather didn't allow us any real vista's, we still got peeks now and again. The place itself full of character and you realy feel as if you are far away from being a tourist for a while. Some nice hikes nearby, car definately needed though! Paul and his family were friendly and helpful! We definately enjoyed the local bar/restaurant in the village, where we most likely had the loveliest food in the best of companies in our total japan trip! If you are looking for a place to get far away from it all, this places comes highly recommended!

  • After travelling all day through the most magnificent scenery, to arrive at this most delightful, authentic, achingly charming barn conversion left us speechless. The views from this accommodation are captivating with the light on the mountains gently changing across the afternoon. We were blessed with a full moon, the clear light from which streamed through the loft window onto our futons. Could this get any better? Topped off with a calming bath in the sweet little annex, yes it got better! Our host was friendly, flexible and accommodating (and runs a brilliant store in town). We felt appropriately tended to with our host ensuring we had what we needed (good coffee and English muffins for breakfast). The local village in which this barn is nestled is in no way touristy, with rice fields and neat homes and gardens, and the ubiquitous shrine nearby makes one feel simply local. If you are looking for a special, authentic and truly memorable experience, this place is definitely worth a detour.

  • Paul was prompt and very helpful with our last minute booking, and his advice about how to get there were very useful and much appreciated. It was great to arrive at such a beautiful destination and find the kura as described. Really enjoyed listening to the frogs at night - the best night's sleep I've had in ages!

    Deborah2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin with a beautiful view of the Alps. Paul was very nice, he prepared the place for us even though we made the reservation on the same day! Paul and his wife own a beautiful store in town with lots of cute stuff, you can check that out. We also found out that you can take a lift to the top of the mountain in this photo you see (though we didn't do it, it was raining mostly when we were there)... If you take a cab from the train station, you can basically tell the cab drivers Paul's name and they will know where to go.

    Laura2015-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and comfortable place for those who want a quiet retreat close to the mountain. If you dream of staying by the fire while reading a good book with an amazing view in the mountains in a place with some history, Paul's kura is for you. Very good too if you want to explore the mountains around, between central and southern alps.

    Nicolas2015-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's apartment is very nice. It is in a quiet neighbourhood and the views are amazing. Although the neigbourhood is quiet there are some nice restaurants and a supermarket around. Paul made us feel welcome and helped us with our travel plans. This location is ideal for hiking and really feels like a home far away from home. It is idyllic and just as the advertisment describes. It's comfortable, nicely decorated and has everything you need in a house.

  • We had a short, but wonderful stay at Paul's vacation home in Komagane, Nagano. The house is absolutely charming and was a delight to stay in. The place was very warm, inviting, and comfortable for us to stay at. The house included beautiful view of the mountains, a second floor/loft for the bedroom, a semi-outdoor bath (also with a view!) Paul was very helpful in supplying us with a guide for the home so that we felt at ease during our stay. Thanks for everything!

  • Norie's minshuku is situated in a beautiful valley hugged by the mountains. It is quiet and relaxing (a 15 mins drive from the town centre). The Minshuku is part of a traditional Japanese family home which is warm, comfortable and welcoming. Norie and her daughter Ayumi was very sweet and helpful. Ayumi helped me called a local Onsen and asked if I could use the facilities, since I have a medium-sized tattoo on my back ( I could!). I would recommend Norie's place to anyone who wants to experience a Japanese Minshuku.

Norié et sa famille nous ont accueilli très chaleureusement, avec un feu d'artifice et des sourires. Ils nous ont introduis au rituel des onsens et des temples. • It is a room upstairs a shop of surf and snowboard. The shop is very cool. Takeda San is very very nice. The room is small but it is like this in Japan. There is a TV and DVD player, a small table and small window but it is enough. In the corridor there is another room for another visitor and a shower to share, shower is very OK. It is located in a industrial area, so it mean th view is not beauty full but the advantage is it is close to many shop and restaurant. We came here for Onbashira festival and it is 20 minutes by walk from here. People of this place are very nice. オーナーのタケダさんは、オープンハートで素敵な兄貴。彼の経営するサーフショップもカッコイイ。 サーフィンやスノボ好きな方には是非おススメ。

  • We had a great time at Sergeants place. Sergeant and his family were very helpful and friendly. The beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. The place is located quite close to the train station which is good to explore the area. Sergeant also picked us up from the station and dropped us off which was very helpful. Highly reccomend the place for anyone visiting the area.

  • I had a nice stay at Sergeant's place. The room is very simple but good enough for a couple of night's stay. The room is 1 floor above Sergeant's skate shop, very quiet at night although we can hear some cars passing by the window. It's located at ~30min walk from the station, Sergeant offered to pick me up at the station for free, but asked 1000 Yen to drop me off on the way back. I did not really understand why, is it because the pickup service is only from the station to his place or if it's because I left on a Sunday and that he was not at his shop this day. 1000 Yen is relatively inexpensive though (compared to the price of a taxi) and Sergeant was really helpful.

  • From all the airbnbs that i've been to, Gunsoo san (軍曹) was the best overall. Not only did he welcome me, but picked me up from the station and even toured me around his apartment, dropping me off later on without any hesitation. Being said, Gunsoo san is a very humble individual and I doubt you would find a more welcoming person than he is. Despite the language barrier, I used what I knew of Japanese and mixed it with english to make for better conversations, and I learned a lot. Now, for the Airbnb itself, the room was very spacious. It could fit 2 or 3 people comfortably in the bedroom, and the bathroom was super convenient. Do note that the apartment is on the second floor of an outdoor gear shop, so do not arrive late or he would stay up until you get there. The bathroom is on the first floor and that's pretty much it. It's a very comfortable apartment for a good price. As for location, if I were to snowboard and ski in the area, this would be perfect, but I planned on hiking to Kamikochi and forgot to account the time it took to get there from where the airbnb was (which is in Chino station). So if you're smart or know common sense, this would not trouble you at all. Being said, the train ride costs around 700 yen to get from Chino station to Matsumoto station (ETA 48 mins), where you can transit to get to the mountains, through kamikochi line and then a bus to the mountain (total of 1 hour and 30 minutes). If you woke up really early, this would not be an issue. So forth, I highly recommend coming to this Airbnb and do learn some Japanese, even if its a little bit, just so you can have a great conversation with this awesome guy!

  • Sergeant and the accommodation he provides were both absolutely awesome. I was initially drawn to his place because he has a mini-ramp in his garage and I'm traveling with my skateboard. His place ended up having the best vibe though. Your room is 100% private and is up-stairs from his skate/surf/snowboard shop. It is air-conditioned, clean and simple. Your personal wash room is stocked with towels and soaps. He's got a cool two year old son and a nice wife. Because you get to your room by entering the front door to his shop you get a key code so you can enter freely when it is closed. He locks up the retail area while he is not around so neither of you has to worry about being around his merchandise. There is a Family Mart one-minute away, and a really nice grocery store four- minutes away. Plenty of food, and some really nice sights to be seen... also, there is a simple park across the street with some rocks to sit on if you end up needing a close place for chilling out. I would recommend Sergeants spot any day. His mini-ramp was awesome btw.

  • Cozy, modern. Heat and AC. Close to Chino station 30 min walk. Host will pick you up if you make arrangements. Sergeant is a great communicator if something is off or a miss just let him know. We had a really great time.

  • Sergeant is an amazing host. The rooms are above his surf/snowboard/skating shop which is really cool. He picked us up from Chino station in the pouring rain and also gave us a lift back. We had a great time talking to him! The rooms are so nice and very good value. There is also a quiet bar nearby which Sergeant showed us which serves lovely cocktails! Sergeant also showed us Suwa Taisha nearby which is really beautiful, we had such a lovely stay. I would recommend this place to any of my friends, and I will try to return here in the future!

  • Location is beautiful however a car is VERY necessary, the house is more than an hour’s uphill trek from the location provided prior to booking. The house is quite empty and eerie, however there is a wood burner which creates a nice evening atmosphere. Nothing was overly clean but the bathroom smelt strongly of bleach. Sergey was very responsive during our stay but the overall experience was not worth the money we paid.

  • Kazu really took care of house and answered a lot of our questions and provided a lot of great information so we could find the house without any troubles. The house is a bit old but it should be a really nice experience to those who want to experiment traditional japanese housing. It is located not far from a train line so those with light sleep might want to pack earplugs, although not a lot of train circulate during the night. It was a great experience overall and we particularly liked the convenient check in.

  • it is a janpan-style house, and i think maybe it is made of wood which is so different from the houses we usually live in. it is a little old but comfortable, the kitchen is very useful, and there are air-conditioner, free wifi, refrigerator in the guest room. the only thing maybe you should know is there is a railway passing by, you may hear the train.but above all, it is a nice house .4.8stars.

It is in the forest with altitude of 1200 m and it is full of coolness even in the midsummer There is nothing other than forest, tranquility and inconvenience Nagano Prefecture is located in the most inconvenient mountain, but it is 20 minutes by car from JR Kisofukushima Station It is surprisingly convenient. When the neighborhood is unmanned, you want to make sounds such as practice of instruments. Warm stove, kotatsu and hot carpet are prepared for heating. The kitchen has an oven and you can also do BBQ in front of the house. There are 4 Japanese-style rooms in the 2nd floor and 3 kids room (bunk beds) in the bedroom
An altitude of 1,200 meters, a cottage in the forest. 2 bedrooms, LDK, with bathroom.
Because it is a villa ground in the forest, there are no people around. Although there is a bath, it is more fun to go to a neighboring hot spring. The car is parkable on the road unless it bothers other villas. One place in the premises.
  • The cottage is nice and cosy and everything functioned well. The stove is nice for colder and wetter days and there's plenty of wood to light it. The cottage itself is a bit difficult to find and it's really located between the trees. We had quite a lot of rain and everything stayed a bit damp all the time. Being in the forest also means you shouldn't be too scared of bugs when you go here. Akiyoshi-san always responded very quickly and kindly.

    Sofie2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of three had a great time in Kiso! The cottage was beautiful, well-supplied and in a great location. Akiyoshi's replies to our questions were always very prompt and thorough. He also went out of his way to make sure my pregnant wife was comfortable during our stay by bringing in some extra furniture before we arrived! We loved the solitude and the proximity to local hiking and other outdoor activities around Mt. Ontake and Mt. Komagatake. We also had a great time grilling out and just hanging around the cottage. The cool temperatures were a welcome relief from the summer heat! The Kiso area was quiet and the people very welcoming. There is a lot more that we would love to see and do and we are already looking forward to our next visit!

    Philip2016-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our family stayed in the cottage for three nights. It was like exploring in the nature wonder of Japan. The place is remote and surrounding by beautiful forest and mountains , the cottage itself is spacious and well equipped for family stay, the kitchen is ready for cooking and serve. We have the pleasure to meet Mr Akiyoshi, he is very friendly and kind. I too enjoyed the CD collection of the host, thank you.

    larry2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Akiyoshi's wooden cottage is a very pleasant place that literally hangs in the wood. It is very quite and the wood smell makes you welcome. The jazz music cd collection is great. A very good place to spend some time on the flank of the Japanese Alps. I recommend it.

    Ronen2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Tucked away and serene, amidst the peace of thr woods, yet easily accessible by car from the main Kiso thoroughfare road. The cottage is tastefully decorated and the kitchen is well-equipped. The owner provided more than enough firewood and each evening in the chilly autumn was a joy - starting a fire, buying the fresh Japanese produce, and cooking a Japanese hot pot dinner. We felt very rested and looking forward to the day we will come back again.

  • It is great cottage in Kiso cho, Nagano prefecture. Not a professional hotel but has everything needed for stay and hanging around. Located in the mountain cottage village driven 5km from main road but road condition is good except 4-50m uphill ( You can park at down-hill roadside). There is Big super ('AEON') 10km away and cottage has everythig to cook and BBQ.

The hosts were very good about communication and I did not have a problem at all. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of space for stuff. There was a definite European hostel feel to the place. I would recommend staying here if you get a chance.

Located at the foot of Yatsugatake, at an altitude of 1000 m There is a small space like a hideaway where families renovated their family in Hara Village. You can experience reasonably simple and refreshing 'Yutaka Living' unique to Yatsugatake.
There are many outdoor fields (mountain climbing, skiing, mountain biking, mountain bike fishing etc.) which is made of the blessings of nature in the surroundings, food culture unique to hot spring facilities and the Yatsugatake Foot area, attractive sightseeing spots are many, I can do it. I'm not confident of glamorous hospitality and hospitality, but I'd appreciate it if you enjoy the rich time of my precious family, friends, partners, and individuals as a "base for travel and immigration planning". ※ Because we have renovated the old house, it is a lodging not suitable for people with cleanliness. We do not want to hurt in an important place, so I would be pleased if you do not judge by price alone but you can read the listings and reviews carefully and make a reservation. ※ During winter (January to March) it is a very cold place so we will be closed in winter. • Koji and Chie were amazing hosts! We have never met anyone with such great hospitality. They showed us everything around the house and the fire place was amazing. It was very secluded as the town is quite isolated so be prepared to do some grocery shopping and cook in-house. The view from the backyard is breathtaking the morning as you're surrounded by mountains. If you want a traditional country experience, I would strongly recommend. Koji and Chie are always happy to answer any questions you might have. Very spacious home.

It's a rural area, but there are still things to do, Mazumoto castle is beautiful, and Kamikochi national park is definetively worth a visit! Go here if you want some rest from the big cities, it's really refreshing.

  • Erik was a great host - very helpful and kind. The room was nice and clean, as was the bathroom. The location is quiet and very pretty and the train is a 15 minute walk. It doesn't come very often but Erik checked the times for us so we never had to wait long for it to come.

  • Erik is a kind and easy going guy. He always offers us lifts to the station from his house so that is of big help. If you want to enjoy the scenic views of Japan I recommend going here and going the Kamikochi park. Also it's the harvest season for grapes at this time of the year so we also did the grape picking around the area which is really fun to do.

It is located in a quiet villa area at the foot of Mt. Yatsugatake Nagano prefecture, altitude 1200 m. It got off at the Suwa South Inter in the central road, and it was about 8 minutes on a very easy-to-drive road with no curve. From there enter the forest and proceed on the way and you will soon arrive. There are trees in the large garden, so it is safe for small children.
High ceiling in a large living room. It is a room with a pleasant smell of wood. From the large window you can see the green of the garden and autumn leaves, so you can feel nature from the interior. 2 toilets, high speed wifi, bathroom dryer, hammock, BBQ set, permanent, record player & LP record many, toy, picture book, kids chair 2 legs, household appliance complete set, guest towels, organic amenities, etc. I will. Also, night lighting fixtures are installed so that it can correspond also to night BBQ! Please also use BBQ tools and charcoal. The wood stoves are safe around the stove as there is also a fence preparation for children. In addition, underfloor heating, hot-air oil stoves, hot carpets can be used. Because we are using paired glass for the window glass, we can spend indoor warm in winter. Please use all the items of furniture such as coffee tea tea and seasoning in the refrigerator freely. (Salt Pepper, Powdered Garlic, Powder Dashi, Shichigi etc., Soy sauce·sauce·ketchup·mayonnaise·sesame sauce·miso·noodles etc. are stocked one by one, "Is this what you do?" There are numerous natural hot spring facilities, golf courses, ski resorts, Yatsugatake outlets, Hoshino Resort, Suwa Lake, Lake Tateshina, free farms selling fresh vegetables and famous soba shops in the vicinity There are plenty of fun places such as! Because it is an area with low humidity, as well as summer heat, powder snow in winter is also attractive. Autumn leaves are beautiful from late October to November, and you can enjoy a tasteful feeling. Besides, convenience stores and 24H super drugstore·station·office·hospital·fire station are safe within 10-15 minutes by car!
