“This Par 71 golf course is not the longest course, but is surely a true test of golf. It is also, certainly, one of the most picturesque. Located at number 1, Great Ocean Road, Torquay Golf Club sits at the start of Victoria's premier tourist drive destination and is a leisurely 75 minutes drive from Melbourne. ”

Point of Interest
“The best beach in the world! The surf is generally bigger here so if you've got very little kids, better to head to the protected Cosy Corner. Jan Juc Beach is another short stroll from Strath.”

“A great surf beach for beginners. On high tide take the walking path right to Jan Juc beach. On low tide walk towards the cliff and check out the rock pools. ”

Spa
“OneSpa – Book from a selection of restorative treatments, massages and facials. The spa relaxation room overlooks the golf course, and the far-away ocean. I have met few who are in the know about this rare, steamy experience. OneSpa’s Turkish hamam is full of watery surprises. There’s a sunken three-seater lounge, heated swirl pool, large marble hamam room, separate steam area, and graduated temperature controlled showers. RACV keep track of bookings for hamam bathing to avoid overcrowding. Six per session looks to be the limit. Last visit price was around $48 for a generous three hours of blue lagoon loafing. ”

“Torquay has exploded since we have been here, and has brought with it heaps of great places to eat, markets and events. Keep an eye on the Torquay pub for gigs, the Twilight Markets if you are here in January (food and music), the Saturday Farmers market, and the monthly Sunday Cowrie Market. The main centre (Gilbert Street) has everything you will need. If you are finding the traffic/parking hard to deal with, it can be worth heading out to the Woolworths/shopping centre in Torquay North for groceries. A cruise along the Esplanade should not be missed. Cozy Corner and Fisho's beach are great for calm waters and beach time. We also like the spot of sand opposite Growlers restaurant for easy access to the beach (and a drink after if you desire). For some history, the Surf Museum is tucked behind the library. ”
