“The Temppeliaukio Church, excavated in the rock, is located in the heart of Helsinki, at the end of Fredrikinkatu. Due to its unique architecture, the church, completed in 1969, is one of Helsinki's main attractions. The church hall is covered by a copper-clad dome, supported by rock beams on the rock walls. The inner walls are of rubble rock and quarry stone. In the morning sunlight spreads from a row of windows around the edge of the roof to the altar wall, which serves as an altar slab for a crack in the ice age.”

“A small park outside the Old church (little wooden building, popular as a wedding venue). There are some events organised here sometimes, such as Restaurant day or Spring cleaning day.”
