Route
“KILMORE QUAY PIER & PLAYGROUND. We love to walk the piers of the harbour and take in the pretty reflections of the fishing and sailing boats in the water, and then look out to sea and the Saltees Islands. CHILDRENS playground, its lovely to push your child on the swing as you chat and look out to sea. An unusual experience... and the chipper and ice cream is only around the corner. You can carry on past the playground to the Memorial Park, commemorating those lost at sea and on toe the Ballyteigue Burrow Beach, only a few very short minutes past the pier.”

“Its renowned, people travel from 200 miles to visit the chipper. Famous Kilmore Quay fresh fish, or even Pizzas. The restaurant side is lively and there is outdoor seating. We like to take the fish & Chips home via the beach or walk the pier with chips. ”

“I've selected Parks and Nature + Beach but there is the harbour and marina, pubs, restaurants and ferries to the Saltee Island (bird sanctuary) or sea angling boats to hire or charter. A beautiful memorial garden dedicated to souls lost at sea is another attraction. Take away fish and chips to die for!”
