  • This is a delightful place to stay for a holiday in Scotland. Iris and Simon provide a private cottage in a charming rural location. It is far enough out of Inverness to be in the country, but if you need to drive 'into town' for supplies, dining or attractions it is convenient to Inverness or Beauly. It is excellent for a base to explore the Highlands of Scotland, since one can access all points of the compass without having to navigate through Inverness town.

  • Simon was very accommodating with our arrival time and had switched on the heaters before our arrival, which was most appreciated. We hadn't had any contact prior but all went well and we found the property easily from his instructions. Cottage was exactly as described and in the pictures. Wifi did not like our three Apple devices, hopefully this was just a glitch as can't see this has been a problem for anyone else! Excellent value :)

  • Couldn’t recommended this place more, exceeded expectations and was super cozy to come home to After a day of exploring.

    Mikaela2017-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal location for individuals/couples looking to explore Inverness and the surrounding areas. The cottage was a home away from home and Simon made us feel very welcome when he met us. A wee gem of a place here, far enough away from the city, close enough to go exploring and when you make that sharp right turn and see the cottage you know you're onto a winner!!

    Andy2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved this cottage! Simon welcomed us to the cottage even when we arrived very late at night, showing us everything and even helping us find the exact bus route/timetable we needed for the early morning! The cottage itself is SO spacious and beautiful. Situated in a lovely part of town, next to charming farms, rolling green hills, a delicious pub, and only 15 minutes into the middle of the city of Inverness! There was tons of heaters in the cottage, leaving us warm and toasty when it was very cold outside, and there were extra thick blankets for the bed in case those were needed as well. Fully stocked kitchen, more to offer than I've ever seen in another Airbnb! Teas, spices, coffees, condiments in the fridge, so much! The area we were in was so safe and welcoming, as well. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. A minute or two walk to the bus stop that comes every morning, and the directions Simon gave to get to the cottage were clear and our taxi was able to find it late at night with no issue. Thank you so much for a lovely stay! We fully recommend it.

  • Simon and Iris were away but organized it all in advance to make our stay enjoyable. Simon was easily contactable and provided good instructions for us to find the cottage and enter it comfortably. We would have loved to meet them as they sounded so nice. The cottage is lovely and cosy, we could find everything we needed. Great location as well to visit the surroundings. Thanks Simon and Iris, we will highly recommend your cottage to anyone and maybe come back if we have another opportunity! All the best.

  • We had a great stay at Paul and Amanda's place. The hot-tub was lovely and the apartment was very clean and cosy. The location is a little remote, but if you're looking for a quiet get-away, this is the place to do it! We very much appreciated the bottle of bubbles to help us celebrate our honeymoon. Thanks so much to Paul and Amanda for a wonderful time!

    Laura2016-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Our second time at Strathview this year. Another fantastic break! Walks in the glens and up the hills with the dog and perfect relaxing evenings back at Strathview. Would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone for a relaxing break away. 10/10!!

    Callum2016-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place, the hosts were really helpful and couldn't have done more. Great!

    Kieran2017-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice cottage far from the noise of a city. We have immensely enjoyed our stay even if finding the place was a challenge for us (bad maps and poorly prepared navigator! ;) ). The hot tub... Wow. 2 en suite bathrooms and a small yet well equiped kitchen were much appreciated by all four of us. There is a washing machine and no dryer but there is a heated clothes drying rack which worked wonders. All in all, this place rocks!

    Lucie & David2016-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The house was a lovely retreat in the country; we arrived to a cosy house and Paul had even started the hot tub for us. The views from the house were absolutely stunning and we had a great time. We were glad to have a car as the house was close to a few other houses but about a picturesque 15 minute drive from Beauly. We didn't get to meet Paul in person but he was lovely and responsive to our emails, especially when we had a little problem with the boiler. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful Highland getaway.

    Jessica2016-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly private and peaceful, the hot tub and view is amazing, the house is very clean and comfortable, super comfy beds and the overhead power shower is fantastic. Cannot recommend this place enough!

    Ciarán2018-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, accommodation was ideal for 3/4 people, if looking for a quiet break in a beautiful location it's perfect

    Hugh2016-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Although we never actually met Paul, he could not have been more helpful, bringing us more firewood in the middle of our stay and leaving leaflets at the flat for us to find our way around. The lodge was fantastic. Stunning stunning stunning view, and the hot tub was a great addition - despite the drizzle, it kept us toasty and brightened our spirits.

    Beauly, United Kingdom

Croft House is situated 400m from the village of Beauly. There are eating places, hotels, delicatessan, coffee and gift shops. Very central for touring the Highlands.
The flat is annexed to our house. Double bedroom, kitchenette - washing machine, dryer, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle. There is only a microwave for cooking. Towels and all bed linen supplied.
The village of Beauly is only two fields away from our Croft. Inverness is only 15 miles away. Loch Ness only 30 mins away from our house.
  • Our stay at Croft house was very comfortable and Freda made us both feel very welcome. We had a little apartment to ourselves with kitchen, washer/dryer, bedroom and dining area. The location is ideal as a stop off point from the Cairngorms and on to Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye. There are a couple of pubs in walking distance of Croft house. Overall a very pleasant stay!

    Ranulph2015-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Freda's BnB during our Easter trip to Scotland. The location was ideal for sightseeing around the Highlands, the accommodation was warm and hospitable, and the breakfasts were excellent.

  • Freda was great at staying in contact and the house was very nice and clean. The breakfasts were great too!

  • Very friendly and comfy. Best nights sleep for a long time.

    Steve2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Stay at Freda's has been my best experience at Airbnb so far. Beauly was a mid way stopover in our Scotland trip. We arrived very late in the night but Freda was super flexible in accommodating us and was available to make arrangements for us even at midnight. In the morning we were greeted with a beautifully arranged breakfast table and she helped us plan for things to be done around the area. We were super impressed by her hospitality and would highly recommend this place.

    Deepika2016-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our experience was amazing. With Freda, we're not customer: we are guest. It's really a clean flat with cute dog and sheeps. She also made a really good brunch for us before our departure. Highly recommended.

    Simon2017-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place for our stopover between Edinburgh and Loch Ness. Freda is friendly and offered to prepare us breakfast. Much appreciated! The annexed suite is clean, cozy, and comfortable.

    Beauly, Scotland, United Kingdom

Welcome to Berryfields Log Cabin, situated in the village of Beauly in the Scottish Highlands. The log cabin is in the garden of our home, entirely fenced off for your privacy. It has its own private access and off road parking space. It also has a patio so you can enjoy the beautiful Scottish weather! Grocery shops, post office and laundrette are just round the corner. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
The layout is similar to a studio apartment. The king size bed is at the back of the cabin, with a separate bathroom (shower, sink and toilet) beside it. There is a large wardrobe for your luggage. In front of the bed is the living area, which has a double sofa bed, nest of tables and TV. Beside the living area is the kitchen with a table and chairs. The property is self catering, and the grocery shop is located just round the corner!
Beauly is an ideal place to kick off your tour around the 'North Coast 500'.
  • A lovely clean and stylish place to stay

  • We had a great time at Nicole's place. It's just around the corner from the Co-op, and in a lovely quiet spot very near the centre of Beauly. Nicole was very helpful throughout our stay and we look forward to coming back sometime!

    Nicola2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The Garden Cabin is a charming and comfortable home. It's a nice walk to town and very conveniently located by the grocery store. Very fine craftsmanship as well as beautifully decorated. Great hosts.

  • A lovely little place in Beauly. Very comfortable with everything we needed. Close to coop and station but recommend a car (even for a couple of days of your stay) just to make the most of the local area. Glen Affric is incredible with beautiful walks. Glen Ord distillery is easily reached by train or a 3 mile walk down country lanes - highly recommend! Thanks for being great hosts!

Sleeps 4. 2 bedroom cottage in the glorious Beauly Valley, this delightful, detached and very comfortable cottage offers an ideal base for touring the Highlands. Peaceful Location 7 Miles From Beautiful Loch Ness And 12 Miles,
The cottage is in a country location, with a woodland close by that guests are welcome to walk in.
  • Thank you very much Veronica. We thoroughly enjoyed (& highly recommend), our stay at your cottage. Your animals are delightful and what a treat to be able to feed them. The cortage is close to Inverness and surrounds, we had a car so very easy to get around. Thank you again and the lovely fresh farm eggs and treats were also a lovely surprise.

    Danielle2016-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • we had a splendid time in oak cottage with everything that we didn't even expecting, Veronica is definitely a super host with great hospitality...the cottage was amazing, well arranged and clean inside out...we even had fun with Veronica's adorable get pets... would highly recommend it...

  • A great start point to explore the highlands and child safe. We'd like to thank Veronica for the lovely stay.

    Ilona2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a marvellous cottage. It has everything a family could possibly need - right down to a picnic rug and thermos. Our GPS tried to lead us astray but a helpful neighbour put us straight and there was the cottage: warm & comfortable; a lovely basket of fresh eggs & other goodies on the bench. Loved meeting Veronica, who was a welcoming and accommodating a host as anyone could wish for and the animals reminded us of home which is very nice when you've been away for awhile. The position for anyone wishing to explore the Highlands is great (It is right on quite a busy road - we didn't notice much road noise from inside - so young children might need watching. Ours is old enough to look after herself.) Only two regrets: One - that ours was such a short stay (only two nights - a week or two would have been much better (Website hidden by Airbnb) Two - that I didn't think to ask what breed the rabbits were: beautiful BIG black bunnies. Can't recommend it highly enough - very special.

    Rhonda2015-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy house, ideal for a family of four. The kitchen had everything you need, reliable WiFi, comfy beds and useful amenities like the washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect when walking in the highlands. Veronica was always available and very helpful with local advice about where to go. Highly recommended.

    David2016-10-28T00:00:00Z

A lovely, bright and characterful double room with ensuite bathroom and stunning views across Strathglass and the River Beauly. The room is on the ground floor of our log cabin home, just a short drive from the picturesque village of Beauly, as well as some of Scotland’s most beautiful glens. While you can enjoy tea and coffee-making facilities in your room, we also offer a continental breakfast to set you up for the day.
Our log cabin is very unusual in Scotland - there are very few houses built in this Alpine chalet style and there are none that enjoy the view that we have!
We are just over 6 miles from Beauly, a pretty village equipped with a small supermarket, gift shops, restaurants, butcher, post office and much more. The increasingly popular NC500 route around the north coast of Scotland runs right through Beauly! The Highland Capital of Inverness is also just 16 miles away. However we feel that the stunning Highland scenery is our best asset, and we are a stone’s throw away from beautiful valleys such as Glen Strathfarrar, Glen Cannich and Glen Affric. A little further afield you’ll find Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle, Rosemarkie Beach and Chanonry Point on the Black Isle (one of the best places to see bottlenose dolphins from UK land!), Culloden Battlefield, various distilleries including Glen Ord in the neighbouring town of Muir of Ord, and much much more. There are also opportunities for hiking, paragliding, dog-sledding, pony-trekking, loch cruises and dolphin-watching boat trips - just ask us for details!
  • Becky and Warrick were amazingly kind and warm hosts. We had a lovely stay at their place which had a great view of the countryside. It was one of the quietest sleeps I have ever had! The room and house were presented beautifully with great decoration details and facilities. Becky and Warrick were great to talk to and offered great tips for travel through the highlands. We felt very comfortable staying with them in their special wooden lodge with their charming and well behaved Jack Russel. We would would absolutely go back if the chance arises. Thank you for the great company! Pip (the dog) and your daughter Hazel were great additions to your company!

    Katherine2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely new home to a great and welcoming small family, located in the glen/valley and the Highland woods. Becky and Warwick are really enjoyable to stay with and can give useful tips what to do and to visit in the Highlands. The guest room and en-suite bath was really nice decorated and fits well in that stylish wooden house. Great place for a relaxing stay.

Charming cosy cabin for a peaceful retreat with lovely views, perfect to put your feet up after a day's exploring! Ideal for hillwalking, cycling, fishing and lots of other activities. 2 miles from popular village for places to eat & drink, 15 miles from Highland capital. Your hosts Martin & Emma have two 3 year old children, 3 friendly dogs along with chickens & a rooster so no pets please. Cabin has plenty facilities for your comfort including log burner, fully fitted kitchen & shower room.
The cabin is situated in our garden but you're quite private, has lovely views of surrounding countryside and is 2 miles from local village with shops, cafes and couple of pubs/hotels! One of which provides a taxi service to pick you up and take you home!
  • We had a great stay at Glebe- very relaxing and peaceful. Emma and Martin were lovely hosts- even offering to light the fire so that the cabin was cosy after a long days walking! We particularly liked the upstairs mezzanine, the log burner and the lovely bottle of white wine left for us!

    Tom2018-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place for visiting the Highlands. Great attentions to details, quiet, and lovely fireplace. Recommended!

    Humphrey2018-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Emma & Martin's lodge is lovingly made and thoughtfully planned with attention to detail. We travelled with an 18 month old and 6 year old and both loved the lodge and the grounds, we all had such a wonderful time. Everything was brand new and the log burner made the lodge really cozy and warm at night. We had no problems with keeping the cold out as the lodge is really insulated and warmed well, the heaters kept everything toasty and the cold highland nights out. Great shower and bathroom, water is as soft as silk! We are used to London water which is a world apart. Our 6 year old loved staying in the roof bunk and we had ample space for the travel cot - we never felt cramped or on top of each other - it's quite caverness inside. The cooking area had 2 gas hobs, very handy for cooking whatever you wanted. The view is beautiful and like most places in the highlands the air was fresh, clean and calm and we were a stones through from Inverness city and beyond. I had to work for 1 night in Inverness and this was a great base for my family and would recommend it for anyone else who needs a base/retreat. Loch Ness is only 15 mins drive - and the drive there is amongst the best I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing - the countryside is phenomenal. I've stayed in plenty an AirBnB and this was by far and away the best. Earlier this summer we stayed in a yurt and this was a similar experience, if you are like us, city dwellers looking for some peace and outdoors time but need your creature comforts (for whatever reason), then I am so grateful we found Emma's lodge - it was perfect, I felt we really took advantage of being in the highlands. Can't say a bad word! Go and book. You won't regret it.

    Sean2017-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Emma's place was even better than we expected - the cabin is superbly finished, the hosts are so welcoming and helpful, and if you get up early enough, the view of the sunrise is breathtaking! Both Emma and Martin are kind and thoughtful people who did everything they could to help us enjoy our stay. As for the location, it is a fantastic place from which to explore this incredibly beautiful area of Scotland. We highly recommend staying at Emma's place for at least 3-4 days to make the most of being there!

    Mike2018-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Cutest BnB of all time.

    Adish2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We were touring around the Highlands with 2 young children and chose Glebe Cabin to be our base which turned out to be a fantastic decision. The cabin is immaculate, spotlessly clean and feels brand new. The beds for the kids in the roof made them actually want to go to bed. It’s brilliantly positioned to reach Cairngorms, Loch Ness, West Coast and further north as well as having the local amenities in Beauly. Emma, Martin and their children are just great, we really enjoyed their company and our children had a blast playing with theirs in their garden. Can’t recommend highly enough.

    Alan2018-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place was very easy to find. Emma gave us a warm welcome and provided wine, eggs, coffee, tea and milk for our stay. The cabin was super clean and very well organised. Our 4 y.o. daughter enjoyed sleeping in the bedroom upstairs, and we all slept like babies! Thanks Emma for your hospitality!

    Nicolas2018-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Spent the weekend at this lovely lodge. Emma & her husband were amazing hosts! They provided fresh eggs, milk & a bottle of wine. They were lovely to talk to, and helped us out when needed; especially with the fireplace. The entire experience was amazing and would definitely stay here again! ;D

The Bothy at Dreamwood has an idyllic outlook and perfect for people who enjoy the great outdoor life. Woodland walks on our doorstep and Glen Affric within easy reach. Inverness only 10 miles away, perfect for the City reveller who prefers quiet country living. The Bothy has a new modern kitchen, with gas hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle and other appliances. Please note there is no oven. there are no washing facilities, however there is a launderette in nearby Beauly.
The Bothy is a small, compact and cosy space, with living area and kitchen area at ground level, also toilet and shower. The one double bedroom is accessed by open tread stairs, and whilst you are lying in your bed, you get to appreciate the stunning views over the Beauly Firth again.
Set high on the hillside in a peaceful location overlooking the Beauly Firth, we are also fortunate enough to be within walking distance of the Reelig Glen, which hosts 4 of the tallest trees in Britain! Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) said a Douglas fir in Reelig Glen, is now Britain's tallest tree at 217.10ft (66.4m). The fir is taller than Dughall Mor, a Douglas fir in the glen that had held the record as Britain's tallest. It is also the tallest conifer in Europe. The other three Reelig trees all measure higher than 147.7ft (45m). They are the tallest larch in Britain at 157,5ft (48m), a 154.2ft-high (47m) Norway spruce and Britain's tallest lime tree which stands at 150.11ft (46m). Beauly is a 4.5 mile drive from the Bothy, and Inverness is 8 miles.

  • We had a great time and would definitely recommend this wonderful little bothy to any of our friends!! It truly is a home away from home. This is very modern in a beautiful out-of-town setting. It's close enough to anything you need. There was great WiFi at the main house. There are more DVDs than you know what to watch. Please don't think twice about staying here! Thank you Lorraine and Richard.

An upper floor apartment, formerly the stationmaster's home, in this Victorian station. In the picturesque village of Beauly just 12 miles from Inverness, it is an ideal base for touring the highlands or starting the North Coast 500. With 3 double bedrooms (one can be used as a twin) it sleeps 6 comfortably but can be let to smaller groups. The kitchen has an oven, hob and washing machine. There is a toilet and shower room. Trains still run from the new station nearby.
The apartment is ideal for independent travellers. It has all the amenities you would want for your stay and is exceptionally comfortable. While it can sleep 6 in 3 double rooms (one can be converted to a twin) we are happy to let it to smaller groups. Two of the bedrooms have king size beds and the third bedroom has twin beds that convert into a super king size bed. There are electric radiators in all the rooms and there is also a real fire in the living room. There is a TV and DVD player with a plentiful supply of DVDs. We have lots of books which you are welcome to read while you're here. Please contact us if you want any specific details or have particular requirements.
Beauly is a thriving village, renowned for its floral displays. It has a wide range of local shops, some of which are destinations for visitors in their own right. Campbell's of Beauly has supplied bespoke country clothing for generations and is well worth a visit, as are Iain Marr Antiques, Amy MacKay Jewellery and Morrison's - a traditional hardware shop that must be one of the last of its kind in the country. Beauly still boasts a butcher, baker and greengrocer as well as a fine delicatessen and coffee shop and small supermarkets. It also has two galleries and some excellent gift shops. There are several local hostelries and restaurants, as well as takeaway food establishments. Inverness, 12 miles away, has some brilliant independent restaurants which are well worth a visit in their own right and it's possible to get a train to and from Inverness and have time for a meal. The ancient priory is steeped in history and is open to the public. There are numerous short walks around the village, along the river and through fantastic mature woodland. One of the real attractions of Beauly is that it is a gateway to much of the Highlands with easy access to routes to the West and North as well as being a short distance from Inverness, the Highland capital. During the summer a Pipe Band play in the Square on a Thursday night, accompanied by a Highland Dancing display.
  • This is an ideal place if you are travelling by public transport. Trains right there at times they are useful (very minimal disturbance otherwise, in my opinion) and an hourly bus service into Inverness/out to Dingwall during the day with good value day tickets. Very peaceful for the most part, some traffic noise at rush hour, but nothing like being in a city. Beauly is a delight, especially in the sunshine, and although small, the Co-op opposite the apartment is very useful and has all the basic needs for the traveller without a car. The hosting is of a very high standard.

    Christopher2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Garry was an excellent host, with a very well-stocked house in an excellent location. The house is right next to the train station, and 2 minutes from the local Co-op. The facilities are great and the beds are very comfortable. Thank you again - we would definitely come again, given the chance!

    Jake2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • My family’s stay at Garry’s place was great. His place is cozy and has everything we could have wanted. The kitchen is well supplied, the shower has good pressure with unlimited hot water, and everything works great. Thanks for the welcome milk, bread, and butter. The best part of the stay was the hospitality provided by Garry and his family. They went above and beyond the expectations I have of an airbnb. Thanks again.

    Corey2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • It's so good. The house was so clean and feel top grade. Everything is good

    林泽2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is cozy and family friendly. Garry and Jane have stocked a large selection of books and movies, something for everyone. The "kitchen" was well stocked and Garry's lemon curd was the icing on the cake.

    Sabrina2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to stay! You will be impressed with the size of the accommodation as well as the cleanliness and quality of the rooms and furniture. We especially liked the privacy of having one bedroom at completely the opposite side of the accommodation to the others which makes it ideal for travelling with a shared group. There is a local co-op only 5 mins walk away and a good Indian restaurant a pleasant 10-15 mins walk through the village. Also a nice coffee shop in the centre of the village and everywhere we went, the staff were really helpful (including assisting with gluten and dairy free requirements). Beauly is a good base for Loch Ness (15 mins drive) and Inverness and if you like whisky, the Glen Ord Distillery is a 10 minute drive. The station is well hosted by Garry and his family and whilst being very central is in a quiet location. Would definitely recommend a visit!

Just 20 minutes drive to Loch Ness, where you can take boat cruises to find Nessie! Beautiful scenery on the road from here to Skye and the west coast, or down to the Cairngorms, or across to picturesque villages on the Black Isle. Things to note - the location is rural, along a single track road and a short farm track - the nearest shops and restaurants are 15 minutes drive. The historic Fort George and Culloden Battle field are just 10 - 15 mins from Inverness. For Outlander fans there are plenty of evocative book and film locations to visit in this Clan Fraser country. Wild visitors here include red deer, badgers, pine marten, cuckoo, woodpecker, red kite, buzzard, foxes, hares, red squirrels and farmland birds.
  • We were very impressed with the accommodation, I'd rate it 5*, extremely clean, everything was of high quality, very thick white towels and bed linen, I am a very fussy person but Siobhan and Garry have really got it right, from the cheese board in the fridge to the vases of fresh flowers! We loved it so much we cancelled our hotel dinner and stayed in with a bottle, cheese and biscuits and the log burner all whilst we watched the weather through the French doors across the remote hills. Nothing was too much trouble for Siobhan and Garry, thank you both for making it an amazing weekend x

    Sue2015-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Loved, loved, loved this place. Thank you Siobhan & Garry for making the croft so perfect with all the special touches and your attention to detail - I really didn't want to leave. Thank you again.

    Lisa2016-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay and felt welcome and at home from the first moment. Communication with Siobhan was easy and quick. The pictures and descriptions perfectly show what you can expect. We definitely recommend Siobhan & Garry's place!

    Moritz2017-05-08T00:00:00Z
  • We are just back from a 4 night stay and we could not have asked for a better break away. The croft was perfect and left us wanting for nothing. Siobhan and Garry were great hosts, we arrived late in the evening and were getting settled in when Siobhan came to check that we had everything we needed. The log fire was all set up for us, fairy lights above the fireplace and a lovely welcome message on the black board. A chilled bottle of prosecco in the fridge with a little note saying happy birthday! The house is decorated to a high standard with little personal touches throughout. Facewipes, toiletries, the kitchen had teas, coffees, milk in the fridge, cereals, porridge and wheetabix in the drawer. The bedroom was very comfortable and welcoming. Harris Tweed touches made this room very cosy. The bed was comfy and had ample storage. A cupboard boasted a range of games which kept entertained, watercolour paints and a selection of DVDs, binoculars, a rucksack and a large selection of leaflets and information on the surrounding areas. We found a dolphin boat tour and would highly recommend it to all! We were very very lucky with the weather, the secluded seating was a sun trap from sunrise to sundown. We drove to Ullapool one day and walked to Loch Neaty on another which was lovely - making us feel like the only two people in the world. It was very peaceful. I would highly recommend going here to anyone and I would love to return. We loved it so much we asked if we could stay another night. Siobhan and Garry were fantastic hosts, we knew that they were there should we need anything.

  • Stephen's place is a little way from Inverness but still convenient if you are driving. It is also relatively close to Chanonry Point and Fortrose, for dolphin watching. Stephen is rennovating and the bathroom sparkles with style. He is a very pleasant host and a great conversationalist. We enjoyed our stay mostly due to Stephen's personality.

Really beautiful place and Stephen is very hospitable, if I'm ever to go to Scotland again, I'd make sure to go back to his place for another stay.

our main selling point is our location, VERY quiet, but only 1 mile from the village, 5 miles from Beauly which can offer many unique shopping experiences. We have the facility to accommodate parties of up to 4 people travelling together,(please see our other listing)
Very quiet and peaceful, we are situated at the end of the road in a crofting township so there is very little to disturb our guests. We run a small flock of Suffolk sheep and what is grazing on the croft differs over the changing seasons but there will usually always be something for guests to view over their breakfast and our free range hens provide the eggs for breakfast. Our productive veggie plot provides seasonal variety.

Guests welcome to use garden area, including the summerhouse and rotating pod at anytime. Tea; coffee etc anytime you want. Breakfast is continental ~ cereals, croissants, toast, fruit & yoghurts.
Guests room has lockable door so they can feel more safe and secure in their surroundings. There is a double usb socket and a dimmer switch for the overhead lighting. You can park outside the house, there is no charge.
Kirkhill hosts Achnagairn Castle and the Wardlaw Mausoleum. We are close to Inverness City Centre, Beauly and Muir of Ord where Glen Ord distillery is situated. It's only 10 minutes away and has tours all year round. Drummnadrochit is only 15 minutes away (non scenic route), or 30 mins if taking the road along Loch Ness which is beside Urquhart Castle. This road is also the road to the Isle of Skye and Fort William. We have a local pub which is a mile from our home which sells very reasonably priced evening meals. If you are a keen walker Glen Affric is only 30 miles away and there are various walks ranging from 1 hour to 12 hours. The most popular, with stunning scenery, is the Loch Affric circuit, this will take you around 5 hours. If you go to: walkhighlands.co.uk you can View all the walks, see how long they take and see pictures of the scenery.
  • Ken and his wife Carol welcomed us to the highlands with their fantastic hospitality. The house and room were immaculate and well appointed and breakfast was provided with a section of breads, pastries, cereal, fruit and yogurts. They made us feel right at home and we thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them (and their adorable dog, Jack). Don’t forget to look us up if you make it over to Canada!

Our Cabin is situatated in stunning countryside 11 miles, 15 mins drive from Inverness. This hand built luxuary cabin is fully insulation with underfloor heating, keeping it lovely and warn all year. It is a light and cosy space with a touch of luxury, located beside our home in a quiet, rural location and commanding stunning views into the valley. If you desire a quiet space to relax this will be your ideal getaway. Great walks, lovley places to explore experience silence and wonderful scenery.
My cabin has been built and decorated with love and passion. We built the cabin to fullfill what we would like in a holiday let and to highlight highland hospitality at its best. The cabin is a special place suitable for weekends, full weeks and business trips alike. It has all the amenities of a high class hotel and more.
We live in a beautiful part of Inverness shire called Kiltarlity, just outside the picturesque village of Beauly. Our property is very rural and quiet surrounded by fields looking into the valley of Strathglass. We are not over looked by other properties with our few neighbours being a field distance away. If your looking for peace and tranquility, this is the place for you. During the day it’s extreamly quiet, at night it’s silent. With no light pollution the stars are spectacular, you can see shooting stars and the amazing Aurora Borealis can be visible.
  • If you are looking for a quiet place away from the city, with lovely views, a lovely walk, and the comfort of a high-quality cabin, Eilean Aigas Cabin is the place for you. The facilities are clean and with comfortable and well-designed furnishings. The building is situated at the end of the yard from the families main house and the chicken coop. The owners are very friendly and welcomed us to their wee farmstead. The two collies were often seen running around with a playful wag and a hello. The chickens clucked around in their own business. All while the roars of the rutting stags echoed through the mists of the valley. We were there for my husbands birthday weekend away. We came to spend our days hiking with our husky and our evenings watching the stars. Eilean Aigas Cabin did not disappoint. Just a few minutes walk down the road is a forest path which winds through the valley along the River Beauly. A 10 min drive towards the town of Kilmorack has several other trailheads which lead through the woods up towards Loch Bruicheach and Loch Neaty. There are also several distilleries nearby (though we didn't visit them this trip) and the Black Isle Brewery around 25 min away (which we did visit). At the end of the day, with the beverage of choice in hand and far from the bright lights of the big cities, we kicked back as the clear autumn skies sparkled brightly with some of the best stars I've yet seen in Scotland. This place is a gem and not to be missed.

A very quiet, country location, perfect as a base for exploring the Highlands, with stunning views of the mountains from the deck and garden. Located 4 miles outside the village of Kiltarlity, and only 15 miles from Inverness.
This quirky old cottage is full of character - if you are tall you may have to duck to enter a few of the rooms as some of the doorways are a bit low! The cottage is on the edge of a hillside with stunning views of Glen Strathfarrar. It is a very quiet and peaceful location so ideal if you enjoy the outdoors and the countryside. There are walks and bike rides from the house and I'll be happy to give you ideas for where to explore in the local area. The twin room has two single beds. (If you would prefer just one large double bed then I also have a double room listed on airbnb). The two beds in the twin room are set in the roof space of the house so there are sloping ceilings as you can see in the photo. Due to the age of the house the stairs are fairly steep so this house is not suitable for young children, or anyone who is unsteady on their feet. There is a cat in the house who is very friendly and will probably try and sit on your lap. This house is in the countryside and there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance - that is what is so lovely about the setting, and why it is so quiet. You will need a car to stay here as there is no public transport. There are a wide range of places to visit and things to do in the area. It is a great base to explore the Highlands. Here are just a few suggestions: Adventure Activities - Boots n Paddles, based 5 miles from house in Cabrich – canoe trips (Loch Ness, Aviemore, and an early morning canoe safari which starts 4 miles from my house). Also offer segway tours, archery, walk on water, gorge walking and many other activities. - Active Highs, based near Fort William – canyoning, white water rafting, canoe and kayak trips, gorge walking, and many other activities Distilleries There are many distilleries in the Highlands, but here are the closest ones: - Glen Ord distillery, Muir of Ord (8 miles from house, 15 minute drive) – visitor centre and tours - Tomatin distillery, Tomatin (30 miles, 50 minute drive – visitor centre and tours - Glenmorangie Distillery, Tain (40 miles, 1 hour drive) – visitor centre and tours Dolphin Watching/Wildlife Boat Trips - Ecoventures – dolphin/wildlife boat trips from Cromarty (30 miles, 1 hour drive) - Dolphin Trips Avoch – dolphin/wildlife boat trips from Avoch (20 miles, 35 minute drive) - Phoenix Boat Trips, Inverness – dolphin/wildlife trips from Inverness (15 miles, 30 minute drive) - Dolphin Spirit, Inverness - dolphin/wildlife trips from Inverness (15 miles, 30 minutes) - New Era Dolphin Trips – dolphin/wildlife boat trips from North Kessock (20 miles, 35 minute drive) Other Boat Trips - Jacobite cruises – boat trips on Loch Ness. (60 miles, 1.5 hour drive) - Inverewe Garden, Poolewe – owned by The National Trust for Scotland. World famous garden set in a stunning location on the edge of Loch Ewe. (75 miles, 2 hour drive) Other ideas: Local - Glen Affric, near Cannich – (20 miles, 35 minute drive) - national nature reserve often described as most beautiful glen in Scotland - Dog Falls, near Cannich – (20 miles, 35 minute drive) – waymarked walks on way to Glen Affric - Plodda Falls, Tomich – (25 miles, 45 minute drive) – waterfall over 40 metres high with a viewing platform - Glen Strathfarrar, Struy – (8 miles, 20 minute drive to start of Glen) – a beautiful Glen 17 miles long which has restricted vehicular access (check opening hours before setting out) - Corrimony Chambered Cairn – (20 miles, 35 minute drive) – a 4000 year old Bronze Age chambered cairn encircled by standing stones - Clava Cairns, near Inverness – (23 miles, 45 minute drive) - well preserved 4000 year old Bronze Age burial cairns - Culloden Battlefield, near Inverness – (23 miles, 45 minute drive) – visitor centre and exhibition about Battle of Culloden. This is a quiet, remote, location with countryside surrounding the house. It is very peaceful and there are no shops or restaurants close by - this is what makes it a perfect place to relax.
  • It was just a short stay (one night) but Jo was a nice host. The house is perfectly located up in the hills of Scotland and provides a nice view on snowy mountains. Jo helped us with all our questions and provided everything for a great stay.

  • This place is simply amazing! We were in for much more than we were expecting. First of all, everything worked as planned, we got clear instruction on how to find the place and when we got there, we got all the necessary information and a lot of very good advise on what to visit in the region. We went there with a plan on what to visit, but after getting some good advise, we changed our plans and it was worth every second. The room is huge, with an incredibly comfortable bed and a view you will never forget. Everything was very clean and we really enjoyed our stay! We can only say that we highly recommend Catherine's place!

  • Catherine's family is very welcoming. They are available for a chat and recommendation, but you can also have your privacy and take it easy. It is a little farm with cats, dogs and horses, but yet very quiet. Great location close to Glen Affric. We came with an infant and were feeling very much at home!

  • Stephen and Magaret-Anne were excellent hosts. The directions provided were spot on and the place was so clean and comfortable. The beds with the flannel blankets were cozy and a perfect end to a longday of travel. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

  • Spectacular place just out of Inverness. Comfortable with all required amenities. It has a great atmosphere like a farm stay. Very relaxing. The horses and chickens were a bundle of fun, and Stephen left out apples for my 3y/old son to feed the horse.

    Jake2018-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The annex is cosy and perfectly fine for 6 people. Clean, fully equipped, and everything’s provided to enjoy a good breakfast (bread, milk, cereals, etc). We really enjoyed our stay there ! Thanks Stephen !

  • We chose this place to stop over the night on a trip way up north. It was clean, modern, good kitchen, comfy beds and they were very friendly laid back hosts. Even got in contact when we’d left some food on the side so we could come back and get it. My son loved to meet all the animals - horses, chickens etc.!!! Didn’t explore the local area because we were on the move but it was very quiet and out the way.

Amazing highland views from beautiful traditional croft house set in the Highlands close to Inverness
Annahill enjoys magnificent views over Moniack Castle, and Ben Wyvis, with woods and a highland forest walk close by. It has a large bright sitting room and separate large bright warm kitchen on the ground floor. You may catch site of deer and game birds from the window. It is perfectly located for exploring.
Annahill is in the countryside 5 minutes from the Reelig Glen walk, a short circular walk that leads through old conifer and broadleaved woodlands, boasting some of Britain's tallest trees. The Great Glen and Loch Ness are a 20 minute drive if you fancy some Nessie-spotting and a visit to romantic ruined Castle Urquhart. We suggest a drive to majestic Glen Affric with its stunning views and lochs and Dolphin cruises to see bottlenose dophins, seals and propoises on the Murray Firth. There are public swimming pools, ice skating rink, and paint balling nearby. We are 40 minutes drive from Nairn beach and Rosemarkie beach both beautiful spots for waking, swimming and picknicking. Cawdor Castle is a beautiful stately home packed with treasures near by. Inverness with its shops and supermarkets, theatre, cinemas, restaurants, pubs and traditional Scottish music venue/pub Hootananny is 7 miles away. Nearer still is pretty Beauly village with bespoke shopping (and supermarkets), a range of eateries and a ruined medieval priory. There are three championship golf courses less than an hour away. We have whisky distillieries galore to visit.
  • Very cozy cottage on hillside with a view to remember. The house is a bit far from any town but not so far that it is an issue to drive to. Kit was a fantastic host, would stay again if I get the chance.

    Leonard2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Annahill Crofthouse is a unique place in an exceptional location. It has plentiful space inside and out: there is a massive farmhouse type kitchen, four bedrooms with great views, and a huge lounge with sofas and tv. But it would be hard not to just stare out of the window at the landscape or read the library of books. We felt very comfortable and we enjoyed meeting Kit when he came to welcome us personally on our second day. He set up the Moniack Mhor Writing Centre a few miles from the house and the Crofthouse would be a great place to write or do other arts! It was excellent for the dog with the huge garden and a community wood with some lovely walks just a few minutes up the road. We would happily have spent longer and hope to go back some day.

    Jane2018-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, the view is incredible ! Kit met us in person and make sure everything is all set for us. He knows the area and love his region. Really a place to relax and enjoy :).

    Guillaume2018-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully eccentric house in beautiful setting, matched by the host, Kit.

    Michael2018-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quaint but spacious hideaway with beautiful views and located within a short drive to Loch Ness and Inverness. A previous review mentioned that the microwave and downstairs toilet needed attention, I can confirm all kitchen items were clean and a new downstairs shower room has been installed. We all recommend The North Inn which is about 3 minutes away by car, we arrived having not made a booking but were made very welcome the food was excellent, plentiful and very reasonably priced.

    Carole2018-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Kits house for two nights in July with our Whippet and absolutely loved it. It was a very hot couple of days and the house remained cool throughout. The kitchen was ideal sized, with some breakfast items kindly provided. The table and chairs in the garden were ideal for playing cards as the sun set. A lovely farmhouse, exactly what we wanted. Clean, fresh towels, loads of rooms. Would stay again.

    Lee2018-07-04T00:00:00Z

Struan Lodge was built in 2012 and is situated on the outskirts of the popular Highland village of Beauly in an area called Barnyards. It offers comfortable self catering accommodation for four in a peaceful country location within 10 minutes walk of the village square with its shops, cafe's and hotels. We welcome well behaved dogs for a small fee of £25. Beauly is a perfect location to visit the Highlands from or to do the North Coast 500.
The Lodge has comfortable leather couches to sit on whilst enjoying the peaceful view of the landscape through the large windows, or sit in the covered veranda and enjoy a glass of wine. There is a log burner for the cooler nights should the need arise. The Lodge has beautiful larch flooring throughout and has vaulted ceilings in the lounge and main bedroom giving a real feeling of space. There is a king sized bed in the master bedroom which has patio doors out to the veranda. The shower room has two doors one going to the master bedroom and a second into the hallway. The second bedroom has twin beds. Please check our website (Website hidden by Airbnb) for a full description of the Lodge itself and Beauly. The village of Beauly has everything you could possibly want within a ten minute walk. The local hotels are dog friendly and there are many local walks nearby for our four legged guests.
Please be respectful of the farming environment we are in and not let dogs off the lead out with the garden.
  • Great place to visit with easy access to a beautiful area. House is cosy but compact for 4 with a really well equipped kitchen.

  • Susan and John's cottage is tucked away in the little town of beauly. It's off the main town just a couple of minutes away so you feel like you're in your own little world. Everything is pretty close by, as you can reach most of the notable points of interest in about 30 mins to an hours drive. The place itself was spotless clean and all amenities. The beds were very comfortable and rooms spacious. The remaining specs were as mentioned in the description. Susan and John communicated actively and our check in was very easy and timely. Overall our stay was very memorable.

  • Fantastic lodge home just outside of Beauly townsite. The place was spotless and John and Susan were very helpful upon arrival. Large windows overlook a lovely meadow with sheep. The property also had a great covered porch to catch the evening sunset. One of the nicest Airbnb we have been to.

  • Graham's place was clean and quiet. It's located in a beautiful spot in the country, up a lovely twisting road. Graham is a great host, fun to talk to, who offered us drinks and breakfast, and helped us with getting our laundry washed and dried. We enjoyed our stay!

    Sarah2017-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a comfortable and cosy stay at Graham's. He was very warm and welcoming. The directions to get to the cottage were helpful and we appreciate all the advice for our Glenfinnan itinerary the following day.

  • Such a kind man who was incredibly helpful to us. The home was beautiful and in an incredibly beautiful location. It was a bit far from town, but Graham was gracious enough to drive us into town to catch our train the next morning. He also opened his kitchen completely to his guests, which was wonderful for getting snacks and making breakfast. I would definitely recommend this if you're traveling, especially if you're backpacking!

    Leigh2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Ideal location for day trips to Loch Ness, Fort George, and plenty of natural beauty nearby. Graham is a top host.

  • Graham is an amazing host who gave us a lot of advices and a warm welcome! The room was perfect and the house is in a very quiet place.

    Julien2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Graham may have been one of our favorites in our travels over the past 5 months. The home is a beautiful 30 minute beautiful drive to Inverness, located in a quiet country setting. Trees, wildflowers, trails through the woods, lovely sittings areas in the garden and lucky for us fabulous weather. The bedroom and bed is large and very comfortable and there is a big functional kitchen. The best part was Graham, a real pleasure to get to know. He offered us whiskey upon arrival, told us about all the best local spots and made us feel right at home. Thanks again Graham, if we find ourselves back in the area, we'll be back!!

    Jessica2017-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Graham is a wonderful host. He can provide plenty of touristic documentation and loves to talk about his country. His house is really comfortable and we felt like being at home. We definitely recommend his place !

  • This is a charming cottage, sparkling clean and up-to-date, in a quiet spot within driving distance of lot of scenic and historic sites. We were grateful for the basket of baby supplies, and the kitchen is completely outfitted (though we didn’t do much cooking). The staff was friendly and helpful when we needed them. We look forward to coming back soon for a longer stay.

  • Daviot Lodge was a lovely home away from home during our stay. We were visiting family 20 minutes from the Lodge and also found it easy to get to Beauly, Inverness and Fortrose from there. The kitchen was well kitted out and access to a washing machine and dishwasher was very useful. The Lodge was well suited to a family as the living area is separated from the sleeping quarters at the back; we could chat and watch tele in the evening without disturbing sleeping children. Finally check-in and check-out was very straight-forward without the need for trying to coordinate a pick-up time, which can be awkward for overseas visitors with limited connectivity. Daviot Lodge is on our list of places to stay near our Highland family and would recommend to others visiting this lovely part of the world.

    Meg2016-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed at Daviot Lodge twice and love the clean, cosy wee cottage in a woodland setting. It is a perfect place from which to explore the region, and with such easy check-in and check-out and comfortable accommodations, can only heartily recommend to others.

    Meg2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very calm, comfortable cabin with plenty of space, wood burning stove and all the equipment you would need in a lovely location - our girls loved it, and we all appreciated the home made jam!

  • Large, comfortable lodge on secluded site among a few others, in pretty and peaceful birch woods. Easy access from Inverness airport, and close to all amenities at Beauly. End of October was perfect, no midges, very few tourists, and whole glens to ourselves! Drove through fabulous scenery to west coast. Loved the silence and grandeur. Listened to owls and distant stags belling at night.

  • Graham made us feel very welcome from the minute we showed up. The location is a little remote, but the directions were great and we got there without any trouble. We used the room as a landing pad for visiting Loch Ness, Northern Scotland, and then went on to Skye after we were done. Close to Inverness and Beauly has a nice co-op for food and a few restaurants to cover food needs. Peaceful and quiet with no neighbors nearby. Great value and exactly what we were looking for.

  • Graham is a great guy! He is very thoughtful and ready to help with some tips. Every morning he would advise us on were around inverness will be the best weather, so we can make our best bets! :) Also he has very good tips for all Scotland, just ask him! The house good as advertised, no complaint about it!

  • We just loved our stay at Graham's place. Graham is so knowledgeable about the area from hikes, to shops, to restaurants, to animal sightings - he knows it all! We stayed in the larger of the two rooms that Graham rents out. The room was ultra comfy - soft, warm bedding and plenty of room for 3. Also, he has everything that you could need to cook a meal. He was very willing to share cooking supplies (oil, soy, salt, coffee ...) with us too. He was even so sweet to pick up some extra black pudding and haggis for my husband the day he went to the butcher. We also enjoyed our conversations with Graham. He is very personable. When we left his home, we said our good-byes with hugs and all. Graham, thanks for such a lovely stay!

  • Staying with Graham for two nights was just outstanding. His place is spotless and the countryside is most charming. However the best part of the stay is Graham himself. He possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of the area which, combined with a rolling narrative and delightful sense of humor, makes for a tremendously engaging experience.
