  • Sandra's place is fantastic. Checking in and out was a breeze, Gary was there to let us in and show us the place. He was very helpful for the entire trip, and even allowed us to check out a few hours later. The house itself is very nice, high-tech and comfortable with its own easy access fireplace

Relax into some Kyneton down time for a mini-break (or longer). Eat at some of the best restaurants and cafes Victoria has to offer and then sink into the couch, or bath, and bed. Just an hour from Melbourne and the airport. This is our holiday house too and it's not perfect (we are working on it), the wood choppers across the road can occasionally make a racket (during business hours) ! We love to eat, read, play scrabble, drink wine and laugh. Large yard with basic garden and sleeps 5.
Quaint 1950's weatherboard with timber floors set on a huge block great for kids to run around (we are still working on our green thumb). Slip beneath French linen sheets and duvets into the queen bed (master bedroom) or double bed and single fold-out sofa bed in the second. Pour yourself a deep bath in the central bathroom with heated ceiling lamp and fluffy towels to wrap up in. The toilet is located separately so no one will be banging on the door to disturb you... Kick back on the vintage Danish leather sofas, gas heating or ceiling fan will keep your temperature at the right level and Apple TV and Netflix will give you plenty of options if you choose to stay in for the night - you can even crank up the popcorn maker. If you decide to head out it is barely a ten minute stroll to Piper Street and the wonderful charms of Mr Casisi, Source Dining and the dilemma of 16 craft beers to choose from at the Royal George Hotel - to name just a few. Share your adventures using #readtraveleat Gas cooking in the kitchen and all the implements you will need to rustle up gourmet creations with the fresh picked produce from the Kyneton Farmers Market held on the second Saturday of each month. A washing machine is located in the laundry at the rear and is available to guests.
The house is a quick walk to Piper St, and the great restaurants and cafes that are located there.
  • Cute little house in a Central location to town. Jacki looked after us as we needed to check in early and even left us some wine.

    Kevin2017-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place, in a residential area adjacent to a small industrial estate, easy walk into town. Comfortable beds. Good sized kitchen. Kyneton gets cold but the heating was pretty good. Opposite a firewood business which was quite loud during the day on Saturday but not an issue in the evening, and no noise from neighbours or traffic. Couple small things at the house that need fixing like the fence, none of this interfered with us enjoying our stay. Excellent communication from Jacki - everything was very straightforward. Not five stars but very nice. Has a big TV and wifi though we used neither. Excellent value for money, we would stay again. Kyneton was great: would recommend Grist bakery for a pie or pastrie, and La Bonta for a nice Italian dinner or Pizza Verde for a more casual dinner.

  • Great place to stay and chill

    Laura2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place. Very close to town and piper street shops. Tastefully decorated and well equipped with everything you need.

  • Clean basic accommodation. Enclosed verandah toilet a bit chilly! Suited our needs for 1 night and budget

    Colin2017-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • Spotless, cheery and with a touch of Scandi glamour: this was a perfect home-away-from-home for our brief weekend stay for a wedding anniversary. Jacki's emails were quick and full of clear details and suggestions, no hiccups at all and much appreciated for a smooth arrival and departure. The property is plain from the outside and it's opposite a timber yard (as the descriptions says) - it's not so annoying unless you are there during the week and want an afternoon nap, or you are seeking total peace and quiet. We could hear the saws going Saturday afternoon but it didn't worry us. The house has been painted and prettily spruced-up inside and filled with lovely furniture, knicknacks, bed linen etc. There are books, toiletries, basic pantry items and cupboards of crockery and cookware - though you hardly want to cook with Piper Street's range of eateries. Above all, the house is immaculate and fresh, and the welcome is warm, personal and inviting, especially rare and greatly appreciated when travelling with a dog. We highly recommend a stay here. Thanks so much Jacki.

    Creek House
    1 review
Large spacious poolside home to rent in the heart of Kyneton. House is freestanding on a sizeable 1.5 acre property. The owners residence is on the same block of land facing perpendicular to this property (see photos for further clarification). Closeby to the main street of Kyneton which features the historic Piper St hub and local attractions.
Light and airy freestanding house with high ceilings. It contains an open plan living and kitchen space facing out to the pool. Has one queen room, one room with two single beds and another bedroom upstairs on the mezzanine (not entirely private, see photos).
Kyneton is a hidden gem in Victoria's Macedon Ranges. It features a historic main street with plenty of boutique shops, fresh produce sellers and upmarket restaurants. It's centrality also means it's the perfect base to take a myriad of day trips around the Macedon Ranges. Hanging rock is a 15 minute drive, Castlemain 30 minutes and Daylesford 35 minutes. There is also Kyneton railway station a 5 minute driveaway if you'd prefer to explore the region by train.
  • Maureen and Warren have a great place here, which would be perfect for a family or group of friends, clean, warm and well equipped I would recommend it to anyone staying in Kyneton. I should also add that they are very quick to answer any queries you may have.

    Ed2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm and welcoming for our arrival late on a cold night. A loaf of fresh bread, comfy beds and a convenient location to use as a base for exploring Kyneton. Kitchen very well equipped.

  • This is a wonderful spot for a couple or a group get away! Clean, warm and spacious. Unfortunately, we were not here in weather that allowed us to utilise the swimming pool but it provided a beautiful view!

    Ed2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Rachel's place was generally as described and provided a good spot for a weekend away in Kyneton. Warwick met us on arrival to welcome us and show us around. The hosts otherwise provided us with space to do our own thing. The bed, pillows and living spaces were all clean/comfortable, and gave us a good night's rest which we very thankful for! We're sure to stay again if heading this way. The location is super convenient just off the highway and a 5 min drive/30 min walk into town. Although, some highway noise could be heard at night. While only minor, there were a few minor details that prevented us from giving a 5-star review. For example, there were some parts of the apartment that hadn't been completely painted and the wardrobe door did not have a door knob. The outdoor area is also looking a bit tired compared to the cover photo. None of this was a major issue, but simply detracted from the otherwise clean and modern presentation of the rest of the property.

There’s a certain magic associated with “Kooyong” as the moment one walks through the front door one feels as though one has stepped back in time. She is calming, welcoming and peaceful. She was built in a time before power tools, laser levels and prefab frames. Her levels are out, nothing is plumb, there's an occasional creaky floor board & 150 years of patina all of which give her character, warmth, individuality and charm making her a perfect example of a much loved home of this period.
ROOM RATES This space is open to group bookings - up to 6 people travelling together. 1 bedroom (max 2 guests) $220.00 2 bedrooms (max 4 guests) $300.00 3 bedrooms (max 6 guests) $380.00 The calendar reflects the pricing for the complete space including one bedroom (max 2 guests) per night. If you require an extra bedroom or all of the bedrooms please contact me as this costing will not show on the calendar (as stated above) or be included in your initial invoice from Airbnb. It is a simple process and all I will need to know is how many bedrooms you require and a second invoice will be struck by Airbnb to cover this. KOOYONG Set well back behind a large hedge on half an acre of gardens Kooyong is buffered from the outside world. The fully self-contained space available to guests was built C1860. This space locks off from the rest of the house and has its own separate entrance. It comprises bedrooms, lounge/library, dining room, bathroom, powder room and kitchenette. After being neglected for nearly half a century, suffering questionable mid 20th century renovation, being in part dismantled and denuded of most of her original features and fittings she has undergone a long drawn out period of restoration bringing her back to as close to original as possible without compromising comfort and convenience. Upon opening the lead light front door one is met with the traditional Victorian floor plan - long central hallway with rooms off to each side, 4’ dado panelling, high Baltic Pine ceiling, archways and original timber mouldings. The rooms off this hallway have pressed metal ceilings, the original wide skirtings, floor boards and rugs, open fire places dressed with cast inserts, over mantles and/or mantles. Please treat the fireplaces as aesthetic only - fires are not to be lit in this space. The parlour, which was always at the very front of homes of this period, and the room directly opposite are the largest rooms in this space and are now both bedrooms. Both face west, overlook the front garden and, at times, glow with amazing sunsets. The third bedroom is through the first door to the left after the arch. The bedrooms all have original cast and brass beds with high quality mattresses and linen. The furniture is an eclectic mix. Mirrors abound to reflect light and there is a scattering of oil lamps and period decorator items. The lounge/reading room to the right has two arm chairs and a two seater lounge, a large selection of books, games, chess board and smart TV with internet and Netflix access. Turn right through another arch just past the lounge/reading room to access the bathroom, powder room and kitchenette. The bathroom is light and roomy with a 1000mm x 900mm (600 mm access) level entry shower, back to wall toilet and Carrara marble top vanity. This room has been designed with those with disabilities in mind. The powder room is compact. With toilet and vanity it serves as a backup in the event that you are blessed with a travelling companion who is more concerned about their appearance than your discomfort. The Kitchenette, for obvious reasons, is out of keeping with the period and contains a fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, sandwich maker, crockery, cutlery, cheeseboard, picnic baskets (in case you want to explore the countryside) salad & serving bowls, utensils etc. It is stocked with a selection of provisions - sugars, teas, coffee, hot chocolate and condiments. The last room on the left is the dining room. This room is less detailed than the rest of Kooyong but the Baltic wall paneling, large rug, predominantly period furniture and sepia photo gallery of local sights and destinations make this a cosy, functional and relaxed space. The extendable table will seat six comfortably. There is also a small desk with chair tucked in beside the door. With easy access to the power point this is ideal as a laptop work space. Each room is very individual. Even though they are all in keeping with the period they have their own distinct feel and character. For those who prefer outdoors there is an area on the front verandah for al fresco dining and/or drinks as well as a seats and settings scattered throughout the garden. There is a lot more to Kooyong than the tangible making her so much more special. As photos provide the best description I have provided a considerable number to enable you to make an informed decision as to whether the Kooyong experience is for you.
Only one block from the start of the shopping precinct and Aquatic Centre. A short stroll will get you to Piper Street, Kyneton Botanic Gardens, River Walk, Galleries, Boutiques, Restaurants, Eateries and all that Kyneton has to offer. Mt Macedon, Hanging Rock, The Cobaw Ranges, Wombat State Forest, Trentham Falls, Metcalfe Cascades, Turpins Falls, Woodend, Straws Lane (Gravity Hill), Wineries and Olive Groves .. There is so much to see and do and all a short drive away.
  • Tricia's place is a beautiful historic home with loads of character and in a great spot in the middle of Kyneton, it is a bed and breakfast set up rather than a home at the moment and she left us beautiful home made jams that we really enjoyed with toast, a huge fruit bowl and cheese. It is lovely, private and quiet, we slept very well. The internet password did not work, but the Netflix did so one night we could watch a movie, there are so many great places to visit in the area and the food and wine establishments excellent.

    Jane2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house had a lot of character, warmth and coziness. Smallish kitchenette, but was stocked with everything we needed including coffee plunger! Great for a group of 4-6.

My place is close to all the Goldfields/Macedon ranges region offers. Kyneton, Castlemaine, Trentham and Daylesford are all short drives away. You’ll love my place because its a great base to explore the region, is affordable, cosy and pets are welcome on request.
The cottage is an open-plan space, with an air con split system and a gas heater. Queen size bed, a sitting area for eating and a couple of comfy chairs for watching TV. It has a kitchen and ensuite and a veranda sitting area. Cooking facilities are an electric stove, microwave and weberQ, toaster, kettle and sandwich press.
I live in a semi rural setting on just under 3 acres. Malmsbury is a quiet historic town in the Macedon ranges which is close to the busier country towns of Kyneton, Castlemaine, Trentham and Daylesford. I have a couple of spoilt sheep, a mess of chickens 2 dogs and 4 cats. All the animals are separate to the cottage. If you would like to bring your dog with you it can be arranged on request. There is also access to a large secure dog enclosure with kennel, toys, sandpit and shell pool if required.

  • We had a great stay in this beautiful cottage, and it was just perfect for what we wanted. It was walking distance to town, and there's lots to do and see around the area. The house was clean, cute and well decorated, and the host was great to communicate with. Cannot recommend enough.

All facilities wonderful and breakfast of fruit yoghurt eggs croissants crumpets jam milk and butter, just perfect! A short stroll to shops, located in a quiet street. We were a group of girlfriends catching up leaving hubby's and kids behind and it was just what we needed. Would recommend and would return!

  • Julia's house is spotlessly clean and conveniently located close to Town. We enjoyed our overnight stay there en route to Melbourne. We appreciated the homely touches of fresh eggs and bread and homemade jam and fresh fruit. You may want to check the listing if the fireplace is important to you as it wasn't able to be used on this stay which was s pity because the weather was very cold and nasty and it was one of the criteria we selected this accommodation on. The central heating was adequate though. Julia's house is clean, freshly decorated and although we had self check in/out Julia was easy to communicate with and prompt in her replies.

  • Just lovely, warm and welcoming. We loved our short stay here.

    Adriana2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Susan's place, she was very welcoming and hospitable. Her house is beautiful, very cosy and with a great separate space for us to stay in. We had plenty of room with our own living space, bathroom and a very comfortable bed - it was really lovely. We loved getting to know Susan and her two dogs. We found the location convenient driving distance from Kyneton, Daylesford and Trentham with lots to do in the area. Susan gave us some excellent recommendations of local restaurants and activities also. Would happily recommend this to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area and we will definitely be staying here again!

  • We had a lovely stay. Everything is very pleasant. The gardens were so beautiful. The bed is very comfortable. Susan was very accommodating and her dogs were no trouble. The studio room is at one end of the house so is somewhat private. We loved the 2pm check out - so enjoyed a very long sleep-in what luxury!

John and Pauline welcomed us at cellar door where we chatted, tasted their wares and enjoyed a glass or 2 as the sun went down on their very scenic vineyard property. They made us feel very welcome and at home, breakfast was lovely and we even went on a small bush walk with a great walking track practically at the doorstep.

  • Kyneton peak winery b@b accommodation is tucked away in the Macedon ranges of victoria around 8 kilometres from the town of Kyneton . What we really loved about this place , once checked in we realised we didn't have to leave as it has it all for that special getaway. After being greeted by hosts Pauline and John. We settled in for some casual wine tasting. Kyneton peak wines were absolutely delightful. Then the kitchen cooks up some great treats all afternoon, we had the salami pizza and a very nice lemon tart. As it was getting late afternoon a pleasant stroll was on the cards to take in the local scenery with some energetic kangaroos and noisy cockies. Blackhole forest has a 4.6 k walk On offer , if in need of a big bush walk. Overall our accommodation was excellent and the breakfast platter and 11am checkout was just the way to complete a special stay on our 30th anniversary. Fully recommend this place only an hour out of Melbourne . We will be returning in the near future thanks again to our hosts Pauline and john

Just an hour's drive from Melbourne, Kyneton is a gorgeous country town. The 1850s Gold Rush left it with a legacy of lovely bluestone buildings but these days, a different kind of boom is drawing food lovers from across the country. Flagship restaurants such as Source Dining and Mr Carsisi have launched a culinary renaissance that now encompasses artisan bakers and provedores. Throw in a quirky selection of shops and galleries, and the rows of heritage buildings along Piper Street are now amongst the most exciting to visit in Victoria.

Autumn, Spring and Winter are by far the best seasons. Be ready for early morning starts to catch the best light. Please contact us for more information.
  • Great hosts with a real and genuine affinity for animals. Made us feel very welcome including dog sitting when we went out for dinner. As with all hosted BnB acomm, well-placed interaction with the hosts adds another layer to your experience. Local knowledge was great, discovering the Botanical Gardens was something we may not have done if Carla hadn't recommended doing so. Lovely!

  • Carla was lovely & helpful, unfortunately I was exhausted, and pretty much arrived, then fell into bed and slept. Everything was great.

  • This was my 1st AirBnB experience and it couldn't have been better. When I arrived, Carla was concerned about my cough and made me a wonderful hot cup of fresh ginger and lemon tea. My room was comfy and warm, and the house cosy - even the music selection was a serendipitous match to my tastes! But the highlight were the gorgeous dogs Jarvis and Lenny. Well behaved and friendly, there were plenty of doggy hugs to keep me warm!

  • My wife booked this Airbnb for a surprise trip and being honest I did have a sneaky look at the images beforehand but arriving here exceeded my expectations. Firstly, there was red wine, freshly baked sourdough, cheese and a kind welcome note. The place was immaculate. Decor carried a 'home' feeling but still tasteful for a country experience. Waking up and having breakfast on the deck surrounded by over a dozen horses on the acreage was a definite highlight. Tamara was so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back for another stay!!

Having been a much loved family home for decades, our Californian at Piper & Powlett is now a private retreat in the heart of Kyneton's wonderful food and wine precinct. Recently renovated, Piper & Powlett offers guest a country escape in a chic town, rewarding and indulgent for a truly relaxing break away. Beautiful restaurants and wine bars that pride themselves on their seasonal local produce are literally across the street, outside the front door ready for your enjoyment.
Piper & Powlett is a luxurious accommodation option situated in the heart of historic Piper Street, Kyneton. We like to think of ourselves as providing a bit of indulgence with a dose of homely charm. Whilst keeping the spirit of the past, the house has taken inspiration from our beautiful surroundings whilst adding the odd contemporary twist to bring it back to life. The house is beautifully appointed with pressed metal ceilings, dark stained floorboards, artwork, period fireplace, and a luxurious deep bath - designed for the perfect weekend or weekday break, an escape from home. Our aim is to ensure you have a unique experience. We have three double rooms, two bathrooms, and a light filled kitchen and living space - air conditioned, and with extra electric blankets for those magic wintery days.
Kyneton is nestled in the Macedon Ranges, which is renowned for beautiful produce, wine and buildings. Streets are lined in bluestone pavers, and old oaks and elms. I love walking through the streets marvelling at the beautiful homes and buildings, and the walk to the Botanical Gardens via the Campaspe River behind us is fantastic. We have a Farmers Market in Piper Street the second Saturday morning each month, and these are repeated in the neighbouring towns each week, fabulous for the rich produce, live entertainment, and sampling. The neighbourhood is distinguished, quirky, quiet at times, bustling at others.
  • Beautifully maintained old house in fantastic location. Being on Piper St means boutique cafes/restaurants, antiques and homewares are only a stone throw away. There are 3 generous bedrooms and two large bathrooms. Top quality linen provided. Jane was extremely easy to communicate with and stocked the fridge with milk, eggs, french butter along with apples and a delicious fruit toast. We were fortunate with timing to get a flexible check-in and check-out. Highly recommended.

Thanks for your hospitality Jane and Sue.

The guesthouse has a separate entrance and a fully equipt kitchen, bathroom, living room (the sofa converts to a single bed) and bedroom with a queen bed. The guesthouse will comfortably fit a couple, with a young kid or two if you don't mind a cosy fit. The beautiful garden is filled with flowers in spring and fruit trees in autumn and the veggie garden and chickens will put the city out of your mind in an instant! People from all backgrounds are welcome.
The Victorian Goldfields are all about food, wine, spa retreats and historical towns that look just like they did 150 years ago. Every direction you go from here you will find vineyards and gourmet food producers that offer weekend courses in all kinds of foodie fun.
  • Great location, very quiet and cosy. Jo is very friendly and welcome us when we arrived. Would definitely stay here again.

  • The guest house was very modern and comfortable for a quiet weekend away.

  • Jo's near new "Granny flat" attached to her home in Malmsbury in the Victorian Goldfields is very comfortable and well equipped with a proper kitchen, separate little lounge, quality bathroom and comfortable bed with extra warm feather doona. The location is within about 500 - 750m of the little historic town and the railway station (Its about an hour to Melbourne, and half to Bendigo) The region is really beautiful, varied and interesting with stunning historic towns and cities like Daylesford (20mins) Bendigo (30) Castlemaine (20) and Maldon (25) by car. You can drive up Mts Alexander and Macedon, visit wineries and cideries in Heathcote and Harcourt. Jo is the ideal host by offering all the help you need but none of the intrusion you don't. We stayed 3 nights and loved it. Many thanks Jo

  • A converted carport - I wouldn't have picked it if I hadn't been told - attached to the main house. Beautifully done, with quality fittings. Spoke with Jo twice - on arrival and on departure - otherwise we wouldn't know her, her partner or their kids were about. Jo is a charming young lady who welcomed us warmly and then let us be.

    Mick2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location, not too far from many tourist attractions. Fantastic host with lots of helpful tips

    Melissa2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • We booked last minute and stayed at Jo's for one night on a weekend to escape the busy city. We were after a quiet, relaxing stay and that's exactly what we got. We were welcomed warmly and given a lot of information about what the area had to offer, but they also respected if we wanted privacy during our short stay. The guesthouse was lovely, clean and warm (thanks to Jo putting on the heater for us!) with full kitchen amenities which can be quite rare! For a quick escape out of Melbourne this is a cute place in a cute town and overall a great place to stay :)

    Aimee2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little space for a couple or 3 adults and a bub (like we had). Comfortable, very clean and central location to town.

    Christine2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • I would definitely stay at Jo's place again. When we arrived, Jo left the heating on for us so it was already nice and cosy. We felt like we were at home and could ask Jo for anything we needed- she even offered us cake! The area was lovely and quiet. Walking distance to some local wineries and nice scenery. The place was very clean, nice modern bathroom and had some good books/game board and a tv to pair with a nice wine for a relaxing night in!

  • Sandra is a very friendly & welcoming host. Her home is very peaceful & cozy with great facilities. Lovely location in the bush, still close to town. Very comfy bed, great log fire, hot water & TV reception! City comforts in a delightful country setting. The steps up to the house may be a bit of a challenge for some, but the view is wonderful. Great value, thank you Sandra.

    Michael2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra's home is very delightful, comfortable and cozy. Our room had ample shelf-space, clean bedlinens. Sandra herself was a great host, taking us on a tour of the house and the garden and the rest of the property. We saw some roos, kokaburras, cockatoos and of course, the two adorable resident sheep. The place is a 12-15 drive from the main streets of Kyneton and is perfect whether you want to veg out or enjoy the town. Thanks again, Sarah for a memorable stay and the great conversations. We will visit again.

A relaxing home with beautiful rural views over undulating farmland south to Mt Macedon. A perfect getaway to explore Central Victoria's wine & food region. We are located 8kms north of Kyneton, 20mins from Castlemaine and 30mins from Daylesford, in a quiet pocket by a reserve which rises up from the Campaspe River below. Easy access to wonderful local wineries and restaurants for which the region is renowned.
Our home is set on 20 acres of rolling pasture. We raise Black Faced Suffolk Sheep, a few Angus cattle and some very spoiled greyhound pups!
  • Tracy & Craig were amazing hosts. Not only was the property beautiful, their hospitality was lovely. We felt like we were staying with family. Tracy's cooking was top notch too!! We look forward to staying there again soon.

  • Tracy and Craig were the most amazing hosts that we could have asked for. Right from the very beginning they made us feel like we were at home. They are such lovely, caring people that went out of their way to make sure that our stay was perfect. Which it was. Between the amazing cooking done by Tracy, the comfort of the home, and the views that surround the home, it was a fantastic weekend!

    Dean2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • After reading the reviews my daughters and I decided to book. No wonder people wrote such lovely words about their experiences. We had a beautiful time on the farm. Tracey and her husband make one feel part of the family. The home is beautiful inside and out. We also booked for an evening meal, and we were spoiled with restaurant styled food. I would recommend eating at Tracey's; it was divine. I can not wait to take my husband back and stay longer.

    Joanne2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tracy's place was by far the most homely and lovely airbnb experience we have ever had. We were welcomed like family as soon as we arrived. We were comprehensively spoilt by Tracy and Craig with beautiful fresh produce, wonderful breakfast and beautiful views of the spectacular location. The room was beautifully decorated with a wonderfully cosy bed as well.

  • This was our first weekend away with our 4 month old newborn and we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful, spacious and relaxing accommodation! Tracy was excellent with directions and communication, and we appreciated the warm, genuine welcome and super friendly hospitality from our hosts. Having the option of the spare bedroom was an unexpected blessing for our extra bags, clothing, pram etc and such great value for the overall price. Tracy is also an excellent chef and the complimentary breakfasts were handmade with love and other fresh goodies from the garden :) We would highly recommend for anyone to stay here and look forward to our next weekend away in Greenhills!

Our spacious family home is a 2 minute drive away from all the delights Piper street has to offer and close to Kyneton's mineral springs. Your lockable spacious king size bedroom with ensuite is located away from the family bedrooms. Relax in our library/ TV-room.
This is our family home and we welcome you warmly. Our sons are well behaved most of the time but due to them being 6 years old there might be the odd chase going on in the garden or a show on the trampoline...please bear that in mind when booking with us. Just recently we added a new member to our family: gorgeous "Lucky", a beautiful little puppy. We are happy to provide breakfast provisions for you, weather allowing you could always enjoy your breakfast on either the veranda or terrace and watch our chooks running around in the garden and the cows and sheep in the neighbouring paddocks. We are of course child friendly and can provide a separate double bed to be put in your bedroom. Unfortunately we do not have a portacot, but you are welcome to bring your own.
We are still very close to town (30 minute walk) but far enough away to enjoy a bit of space and country views. We love to see our chickens run in the garden trying to catch butterflies and the stunning sunsets most of the evenings.Kyneton itself is the perfect country town: a lovely community with everything for your daily needs and on top you get brilliant cafes and restaurants. What more could you ask for?!

    Olga2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia was an extremely welcoming host, going out of her way to make us feel comfortable. It was lovely and warm when we arrived. Her little place had absolutely everything we needed to weather a rainy evening. She provided fresh fruit, bread, cheese, milk, juice and even Tim tams! The cottage is clean, well-ordered and has good quality appliances & crockery. Most importantly it had a very comfortable bed & pillows! Tricia was attentive without being overbearing. We'd definitely stay here again.

    Holly2016-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Intimate accommodation, very comfy warm bed, awesome shower and nice breakfast. Suited our needs well.

    Melanie2017-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • You will be pleasantly surprised with this little bungalow. The cottage whilst not huge is compact and well appointed. The fridge and pantry had enough for our stay and treats that made our stay really enjoyable. The bed was soo good, we slept so well and soundly that we really felt refreshed each day. The breakfast hamper was more than enough to keep us going all day with juice, cereals, milk, butter, handmade loaf of bread and great percolated coffee with a selection of home made jams. There's even cheese and crackers for when we got home each evening (BYO). The bathroom was nice and we loved the hot showers with plenty of towels, shower gels, shampoo, conditioner etc. For single or couples this is the best place to stay in Kyneton as it is close to everything. We will have to book it again soon.

  • Brooke made us feel welcome from the minute we arrived. There was an amazing welcome basket of eggs, bacon, fruit, milk, bread and even icecream. The barn is modern and has had a lot of love put into it. The bed was super comfy and the dogs were a wonderful addition. We love this part of Victoria and look forward to visiting again. Thanks for everything!

  • Loved everything about staying in Brooke and Jeff's barn. It's been beautifully renovated, with cool, kooky furnishings. Definitely surpassed our expectations. Our stay made our 10th wedding anniversary very special!

  • We had a lovely stay at Brooke and Jeff's light-filled barn. Gorgeous property - the blossoms were in full bloom! - and a lovely quiet location. Make sure you visit the botanical gardens in town. The fireplace was fantastic as were the breakfast provisions! A super relaxing weekend away.

    Darius2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • I could not fault 'The Barn Owl', from the communication prior to the stay, to the check in on the day and then the presentation of the barn were fault less. I had booked the accommodation for my Mum (which was confirmed with Brooke prior to booking) as we had a family function in the area. After my booking had been processed Brooke contacted me to advise there had been an overcharge with the room price and that she would have it changed and the money refunded which all happened seamlessly. When I went to check in on the day with my Mum, Jeff (Brooke's partner) was there to greet us and happily showed us around and made us feel very welcome. When entering the barn, you are blown away by the presentation. There was a beautiful food hamper packed full of breakfast delights and fruit for the stay, everything was clean and immaculate. My Mum thoroughly enjoyed her stay and said the bed was very comfortable and beautiful linen. I will be recommending and using this place for any future family functions. Thank you Brooke and Jeff.

  • Lovely little spot of a weekend getaway. Place is cosy and clean - and the breakfast offerings were the cherry on top!

    Amerley2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful barn! Jeff and Brooke were lovely, and full of helpful recommendations for local sites and eateries. As dog lovers, we were also very glad to have Glenn and Henry bounding around. The wood fire kept the barn warm at night, and it had everything we needed, including a marvellous basket of local treats upon arrival (exceptional!). It was well-located, only 30 minutes drive from Castlemaine and Daylesford, and Malmsbury has its own interesting quirky places to explore, with old crumbling historical buildings, beautiful botanical gardens, and delicious eateries. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • Couldn't of asked for a better weekend getaway. The location was beautiful and the surroundings we amazing. Brooke welcomed us on arrival with everything prepared down to the fire on. She made us feel welcome then left us to it. The place is costly and perfect for a little restoration and relaxation. Definitely coming back

    Miriah2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was mind-blowingly lovely. So much thought was put into its renovations, from some of the most impressive sinks you'll ever see, to a sky light above where your head sits in bed to gaze at the stars. The provisions they gave me were delicious and could have fed me for days! Brooke was very easy to communicate with and rugging up next to the fire was divine. Thank you for making my stay in Malmsbury for my best friends wedding, such a holistic and special weekend away. Hope to return soon! -Carolyn

  • Fantastic home in a great location. Less than walking distance to great restaurants and shops. Valerie was the perfect host and we were happy to have used such a wonderful home. Thank you, would definitely stay here again when visiting Kyneton.

  • We had a lovely stay in Valerie's B&B, she was very helpful and prompt with her responses. Beds were very comfortable, as was the lounge room where my family enjoyed some relaxation time together. Just one comment, the bath/shower is not really suitable for older adults as there was no handrail...and stand alone shower would have been preferable.

  • Cute and comfortable place to stay. The bathroom was clean and spacious with plenty of fluffy towels. It was also in a great location with plenty of places to eat and have a browse through. We were only there for a night so did not use the kitchen facilities but the kitchen itself was clean and organised with some staples for breakfast. Definitely recommend staying here if you're down in Kyneton for a holiday or even one night like us.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at B&B on Piper. The house has a quaint old worldly feel to it, it is spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, a very comfy bed & all you would need for a comfortable stay.

  • That was a great trip! The cottage was really cosy and with a nice frontyard and backyard. Really welcoming, with a fireplace, and nice furniture, makes you feel at home! The dogs Teddy and Cleo, as well as the cat Hugo are welcoming and always looking for pats. Last but not least, Des is the best host! Always up for a chat, but gives you space as well. And always ready to give you a hand if you need anything. I'll definitely recommend Des as a host, and will definitely stay at his again if I come up in Kyneton.

  • Our stay with Des was great! He was the perfect host, and was more than happy to chat and help out with local knowledge. His place is beautiful and clean with all the comforts you could possibly want and to top it off he has a great little veggie/herb garden that he was happy to share. If we head back to Kyneton there is no doubt we will book here again. Thanks Des!

  • Des is the best! He really was an amazing host who really went above and beyond. Dropping us off in Kyneton made our day so much easier. He had an amazing breakfast spread for us in the morning and was great to chat to. Definitely recommended!

  • Really enjoyed my stay at Lauriston Cottage. Des is a beautiful person with a beautiful home. He is very friendly and always up for a good chat. The cottage is located about 1 minute from the freeway and less than 2 minutes from town center so the location is perfect. Free WiFi, Foxtel, and Netflix completed the home-y feel and I had no trouble settling in right away. If I ever need to stay in Kyneton again there will be no question as to where I will book. Also extremely flexible check in and out times made my trip so much easier. Thanks Des!

  • Des was the host with the most. He went above and beyond to help us out. We want to thank him for his hospitality and welcoming us into his beautiful home. The home grown veggies were a bonus which we've enjoyed since visiting. Would highly recommend anyone looking for a lovely place to rest and visit.

  • Staying with Des on the weekend was lovely. The place was clean, cute and quiet; the animals were friendly and adorable; the bath was relaxing and coming back at the end of my night to intelligent conversation, a glass of red wine and an open fire was simply amazing. I recommend staying at Lauriston with Des any day of the week; you'll even get fresh eggs laid by his girls !!

  • We had a fantastic stay with Des in his wonderful clean and welcoming home. Des was in contact with us ahead of our visit to confirm any special needs and also helped us organise transport to and from the 50th birthday party nearby. I do not hesitate recommending his home if you are staying in Kyneton. Also his coffee recommendation was spot on. See you next time Des.

  • Des was the perfect host. He is super friendly and a wealth of information about the town. He even dropped us off at hanging rock where we were going to see a concert. This cottage is exactly how it is described. Quiet, tastefully furnished with all the amenities you would expect to find in a high end hotel. Located just about a minutes drive to the heart of town. Great little array of great eateries here also. I would definitely stay here again when I visit this beautiful region of Victoria. Thanks for making our stay memorable Des.

  • We had a really lovely time. Kyneton is a lovely town and Harry's apartment was a great place for our overnight stay.

    Allegra2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Harry's apartment has an amazing location set only a few meters from Piper St and yet located at the back of an Art Gallery so that it amazingly tranquil for the centre of Kyeton. The apartment itself has everything you require for a weekend away and the breakfast provisions provided were a welcome surprise. We'll definitely return for another weekend at Harry's.

  • A modern, clean and well appointed studio apartment in the heart of Kynton. Loved the rustic facade too! Robyn was very welcoming host. We were in town for a wedding so were very grateful for the bacon and eggs in the fridge the morning after! Would recommend to anyone.
