“Take the rickety old cable car that has your knees touching your nose, to reach the plateau of Mont Chèry. With no beginner area, no green pistes, no ski schools, therefore fewer skiers, Mont Chèry is often untouched on powder days. Take the far left chairlift up from the plateau, go left and ski along the top for about 750 meters then drop left into the field of off-piste that then takes you through some amazing forest runs.”

“Les Gets, Encrenaz (12min), accessed up the hill behind Essert Romand, my favourite spot, easy free parking, ski in and ski out too. You can still buy a Mt Chery local area pass which keeps the costs down. The downsides are that some people get bored of Mt Chery quickly and it’s not great for beginners, you need to be able ski red runs. And there are no shops or ski hire!”
