  • A nice clean place in upscale La Jolla. Elena is a great host and gave us excellent tips on the area. La Jolla Shores beach is about 15 mins walk - restaurants and shopping is about 3 miles walk. We spent hardly anytime in the house as we were out and about . Its easy to get to downtown San Diego, Torrey Pines, Del Mar etc.

    Manas2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place is better then it looks in the pictures, super clean, spacious, safe and Elena was an amazing host. She gave us recommendations about places to see and she made our stay very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place.

    Riya2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Elena was a great host, she made us feel comfortable in the house. The private movie theater was a good addition to the room. Thank you !

    Monika2017-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The movie screen is nice and it is in a good location near La Jolla.

    David2017-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very disappointing

    Lexi2016-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The theatre room was very relaxing, comfortable, and a great place to kick-back and relax after a long day. Elena was very nice and provided everything needed for an enjoyable stay.

    Brooks2015-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • My first AirB&B experience and it was excellent!! Elena was very accommodating. I showed up 20mins before my check in time and that was ok. She offered me a better room since it was available. And responded quickly to my messages. I even asked how I could turn the heat on and she not only made sure I had a heater warming up the room, but also left and extra comforter and a blanket. The bathroom was super clean and big. Much better than staying at any expensive hotel. The place is beautiful and immaculate. Would love to come back. Thanks Elena for being such a great host!

    Sebastian2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Elena's place is very beautiful, and my theater/movie room was ideal for me. The bed was super comfortable. I think my favorite place was the big balcony off of the living room. It is lovely to look out on the trees and plants. My private bathroom was just a couple of steps outside of the bedroom with the movie theater, so I only wish I had brought a robe with me! Elena is very proud of her city and enthusiastic about sharing it. She is dynamic and fun to be with; very easy to talk to. You should know you should rent a car or rely on Uber while at Elena's. It is a long way to walk to where there are restaurants or any markets with food. The location is beautiful, but unless you have transportation it is not handy for meals or shopping.

Less than 2 blocks from the beach! The room is usually private, but sometimes the house is shared and other guests must walk through bedroom to access the bathroom. Dining room, patio, kitchen, and bathroom may be shared. A 3rd and 4th approved guest may use queen sofabed between 10PM and 8AM for sleeping. Rent the private guest room too/instead: airbnb.com/rooms/1788403 Please note additional cleaning fee of $5/night
This space is only rented on a last minute basis. When the home will be shared, it is intended to be a place to sleep/shower/eat in between other activities. It is not intended to be an all-day hang-out. Being in the home several hours during the day would be OK if one was working/reading quietly in the room or on the patio. Cleaning and maintenance of the property may take place during the day and early evening when the home is shared. Studio near the beach (1/10 mile) and the Village (3/4 mile). Queen bed, full kitchen and bath. Fast Wifi, parking (height limit 6') No TV bring your devices. Walking distance to restaurants, Vons, coastline and Prospect Street. Good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. 5 miles to UCSD. Free central laundry. No A/C, can be warm in August, I have a fan.
Corner unit, downstairs with a parking space (limited height see photo). Full kitchen with dishes and pots and pans. Full bathroom also. Wifi only, no TV.. bring your devices if you like .. No Air Conditioning
Old La Jolla Village, was founded in the 1920's as a beach-side resort destination for San Diego. It has evolved into an enchanting community of modern and historical architecture, surrounded by scenic beaches and cliffs. We have many restaurants and shops for all your needs, but the ocean will make your stay the most memorable experience. My favorite restaurants are El Pescador (fresh fish) Pannikin (coffee, lunch) The Taco Stand (mexican) Carinos (pizza) all 5 minute walk (Pannikin 10)
  • Awesome location steps from the beach. Plenty of food, shops etc. within walking distance. The ocean view is even better than the pictures show. Older building but it had a cozy setup with new furniture, full-functioning kitchen and bathroom and plenty of closet space for a studio. Stayed for a week and didn't want to leave. It was helpful having free laundry. The parking space will accommodate a small car, otherwise street parking wasn't too difficult to find unless it was during the day. I would definitely stay here again.

    Kimberlin2016-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place is nice clean, and Ed is quick to communicate, and getting you checked in. It's located right by beautiful downtown La Jolla and its just a short ride from Beaches, UCSD, and some hiking trails. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in a nice area.

    Christian2016-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute place, close to the beach, and a short walk to many shops.

    Haidyn2017-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for maybe some college kids/young adults that want a place to stay to experience La Jolla and the beaches. For me, it was a little bit worn down. I would have appreciated new more comfortable linens on the bed, perhaps some water and coffee as well. Also the decorating could use a "spruce up." Other than that, it was clean and Ed was great.

    Heather2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • This private studio is a great deal. It's near the beach and La Jolla village. There are a lot of shops and restaurants, and I enjoyed seeing the sea lions at La Jolla cove. There's a spacious kitchen, nice bathroom, and really pleasing ocean breezes if you open the windows. Though I didn't meet Ed, he was very helpful and communicative. When I expressed that I wanted to take a bath, he even bought a stopper and brought it over. I would certainly want to stay again!

    Liz2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • I'm not sure we could have found a better location - close to the beach, close to restaurants and shopping. We walked all of the time except when we had time constraints. I doubt we would rent a car next time. We walked to a wedding venue, to the reception, and home, all very easily. We had leisurely strolls to the beach in the mornings and in the evening. The place was very quiet. We didn't even take advantage of the kitchen, except to make coffee, but would love to come back for a longer stay and do so. The main thing is, this is a very affordable and nice place to stay in a relatively high end neighborhood.

    Lynne2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a sweet little place and great for one or two people. Nicely located and lots of windows. Ed was available and easy to plan with. I would return in a minute.

    M. Catherine2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a great value and a great location. Ed was super responsive which is the most important thing for my when I'm staying at an Airbnb. I would stay again, and believe this is as a good a value as you can find for staying in San Diego.

Just steps away from world class shops, restaurants, beaches and attractions our home is perfect for your next adventure! Located in the heart of La Jolla Village and only 5 minute walk to La Jolla Cove, it's a walkers paradise! Come explore some of the most beautiful beaches and scenery in the world, while getting a local experience that makes you feel at home.
Your private room and bath is equipped with queen bed, desk, closet space, TV, soft towels and toiletries. Note: Hosts live in the home, so common areas are shared.
La Jolla Village is one of the top neighborhoods in the city and our home is in the heart of it. Just steps away from the World Famous Comedy Store (talk to us about getting free tickets to one of the shows!), famous restaurants, top of the line movie theater, and some of the most beautiful beaches on the California coast. This neighborhood is perfect for the foodie (with restaurants with chef's from Top Chef and the latest trendy eateries), the fashionista (just blocks away from Lululemon, Banana Republic, Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, & more), the adventurer (snorkeling, surfing, kayaking all within walking distance), and the vacationer (beautiful *uncrowded* white sandy beaches to lounge on all day).
  • Josh and Brit's place is a perfect homebase for those wanting to stay in the La Jolla area. The room is accurately depicted, very spacious, and very clean. Their home is located near a busy intersection, so while it's convenient for walking about ten minutes to restaurants/shopping, you'll hear the drum of traffic. Still, Josh and Brit are extremely friendly and gracious hosts. I'd suggest staying here if you plan to be out and about most of the time.

    Lauren2017-11-14T00:00:00Z

Bright ocean themed twin bedroom with a large closet and multiple drawers. Private bathroom with single person shower. Enjoy being a block from the La Jolla beach, cove, village and all surrounding coastal San Diego areas along with UCSD, which an easy ride away via bus, shuttle, Lyft or other transportation. This is a walkable part of town so a car is optional.
The twin bed is great for sleeping 1. In order to add additional people, I must put in the queen sized air mattress, which is large and comfortable with the capacity for 2 more people. It will, however, take up the remainder of the space in the room so please be aware upon booking that it will be a tight squeeze if you exceed 1 person. There is also an extra $10 per person. We are a beach house so there is a hose out front to wash the sand off before entering. We provide beach towels, blankets, and other items needed. Please return them to the proper locations so the next person can easily locate and use them. There may be a guest staying downstairs as that is rented as well. Please be mindful of walking and remove shoes as the sound resonates with marble floors.
La Jolla Village is a walkable town. You have every type of food restaurant, shopping, events and more within walking distance. You are also near UCSD, freeways and have easy access to all of San Diego from here. It's a great location and you will be able to do the entire city.

This private room has a California king sized bed, a private bathroom, a laundry room and its own entrance. The floor is colored concrete with rugs on top. There is a mini-fridge, coffee maker and a microwave. The bathroom has a shower (no tub). There is a bookcase with many books, including some for pre-school age children. The room is part of a photo studio so there are photo books and file cabinets containing slides.
This is an unusual property, close to the beach with orange, lemon, lime, fig and avocado trees, lavender, rosemary, and much more. The property is a half acre. The house itself is original mid-century modern, with a Mediterranean Zen feel. People who work in the design fields (architecture, etc.) and Europeans tend to love our house and yard, as do people with young children.
La Jolla is an affluent beach neighborhood of San Diego. It hosts the campus of University of California San Diego so there are many cultural activities (such as the highly rated La Jolla Playhouse). Foreigners love La Jolla, and you will hear many languages as you walk the beaches. There are many good restaurants in the village. La Jolla is only 20 minutes from downtown San Diego.
  • Sharon and her family are wonderful. Private and clean! Thanks and we will be staying again

    Abigail2017-12-12T00:00:00Z
  • Best value in La Jolla and a truly great location. Perfect for singles or couples.

    Andrea2017-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this comfortable room! It was a short drive to La Jolla Cove or downtown San Diego. The room was lovely and clean, with a large, comfortable bed. It felt very private and looked out on the lovely garden. There was safe, close parking, a great private bath (shower had amazing water pressure!), a coffeemaker, a small fridge, a microwave, a roku tv with access to lots of streaming services and access to a washer and dryer. Sharon and her family were welcoming (while still letting us have privacy) and we loved meeting the furry family members, including doggy Charlotte. I️ would stay here again when visiting the San Diego area.

    Mikaela2017-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place in nice neighborhood. Plenty of places to eat and things to do nearby. La Jolla is a beautiful city. Sharon was super accommodating and very easy going. I highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again!

  • Very clean, comfortable, great value. Sharon very nice. Two small issues. Need seating other than bed, and a more functional privacy shade. My guess is she’ll fix both. and I’ll be back. Then it’s a great deal, though the location is just so-so.

You are located in one of the most exclusive areas in La Jolla around the corner from one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. You are an easy walk to the famous restaurants and amazing shopping. You are a 3 minute walk to the beach!
There is a separate cottage that shares this lot. The cottage sleeps 2 and is just as beautiful as this house.
Great location just steps to La Jollans' favorites, Marine Street and Sea Lane beaches and within a walk to village restaurants and shops, this bright, immaculate modern home is a perfect vacation spot. Exquisitely renovated in chic, sleek, high quality style, this unique beach house offers vaulted open ceilings and fantastic upgrades throughout. You will also be able to enjoy the delightful patio and deck perfect for relaxing in the sun, reading a good book, and enjoying spectacular sunsets. This stunning house is ideally located just three short blocks to the finest beaches in California and is close to the Village of La Jolla that offers charming boutiques, art galleries, internationally renowned restaurants, quaint cafes, and the breathtaking natural beauty of La Jolla's coastline.
  • We had a fabulous time in La Jolla. Clem's house is very clean and comfortable. Clem provides many amenities including plenty of very soft towels, toiletries, hair dryers, beach towels and beach chairs/umbrella (thank you!). There are large flat screen tv's in two of the three bedrooms as well as one in the main living area. These same two bedrooms have ceiling fans which help tremendously when the temperatures get hot. There are two full baths and one large half bathroom, which was very helpful. The kitchen is well appointed and the refrigerator new and large. There's a washer & dryer which is very helpful for all those sandy beach towels. The house is just a few blocks from one of several small beaches in La Jolla and an easy walk to the village which is a huge plus. Many larger beaches are a short drive away (San Diego has so many choices!). Despite being off of a busy street and very close to the neighbors, the house was quiet and is on the border of a neighborhood with nice homes (fun to walk these neighborhoods into town and along the coast). You share a carport with the renters of the small cottage in the front (so only one car per rental), and the driveway is tricky to back out of, but there is plenty of parking on side streets even during the summer so it wasn't a problem. There is a great deck off of the two bedrooms on the second floor - strung with lights for the evening - with a little view of the ocean. Great location, comfortable, and clean - thank you Clem!

  • This place was everything it was described to be. We had a great stay at Clem's place! The layout was beautiful and he even left us beach chairs and plenty of beach towels! Somebody better give Clem his Seahorse back!!!!

    Jason2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • A group of friends rented this home to stay at during a destination wedding and it was perfect! Just as beautiful as the photos and the host was very accommodating and available as needed. The location is perfect because there is access to the beach and a cute part of La Jolla, but it is also private and tucked away --perfect for truly relaxing. The host sent us recommendations for some local places and we tried a few and loved them. There were some beach items available for use and that was very convenient and fun. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you!

  • Clem was great to deal with and was genuinely concerned with the quality of our stay. It was well stocked with things you need like detergent and shampoo, etc. It is new and fairly nice. The one thing that really hit us was that the linens were really exceptional. Towels, bedding, etc. It is about as good of a location as you can get in La Jolla. It is on the main road, so there is some traffic out front, but the house is protected, so you don't get much noise. The house does not have AC, which doesn't matter much unless you have a heat wave in the warmer summer months. The living room and 2 bedrooms have ceiling fans the help a lot.

This cozy little cottage is in the very heart of La Jolla. On the alley, just a few blocks from the La Jolla Tide Pools or Marine Street white sand beach. Over 100 restaurants of all different kinds, grocery store, Bev Mo and pharmacy all within walking distance. Quiet at night, school noise from athletic field during the day.
This space is really best for a couple or two friends. It can sleep up to 4 people, two to a bed, but the only access to the bathroom is through the bedroom.
  • Love how sweet the host was, and how much there was for us including nearby beaches, restaurants, and breakfast foods! She then allowed using her boogie boards was just a cherry on top of that trip!

    Airyana2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for the great stay! The place is so perfectly located, quiet, clean and well-stocked. The "cottage" and the hosts' organized binder of essential places and things to do made our whole trip even more enjoyable.

    David2017-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne’s place was by far the best air bnb I have stayed at. It was very clean and nicely decorated. She provided us with bikes and a cute binder full of recommendations on what to see in San Diego. If I’m ever back in the area I would definitely stay here. Amazing place!

    Miranda2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed in almost 50 airbnbs over the past 4 years. Joanne's place is by far the cleanest place I've ever been -- it is absolutely SPARKLING. She is the most gracious and solicitous host I've ever enocuntered -- the place was furnished with food, toiletries, beach towels, books, Netflix, etc. My only regret is that it wasn't available for another day so I could have enjoyed myself after my work was done.

  • Awesome place!

    Jake2017-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying in Joanne's cottage. It is perfectly and thoughtfully laid out and every detail has been accounted for to make for a great stay. Would definitely come back! We appreciate Joanne's generosity. Thanks!!

    Alex2016-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Joanne's place was perfect for our short stay in La Jolla. It was just as described and even nicer than the pictures portrayed. She left us all the bathroom and kitchen necessities as well as food and drinks to enjoy. The location is awesome-- you can walk to great restaurants and shops and to the beach! Would definitely stay again. Thanks Joanne!!

  • A good place to stay. Walking distance to the beach. Joanne stock our fridge with eggs, milk, juice and bagel. We were not expecting that, so a pleasant surprise. Communication was great. Would recommend this place. Thanks Joanne.

  • This place is a hidden gem in La Jolla! The location is very close to the beach, surf spots, and all the restaurants and shops on both Prospect and Pearl. The living, dining, and kitchen area is very spacious and the whole apartment feels freshly updated. Pretty unassuming from the outside and entrance, but once you’re inside it’s comfortable and clean. This is a beautiful neighborhood and very walkable. Great stay in beautiful La Jolla.

  • We booked this house for a week over Thanksgiving. This house is the perfect location, close to freeways, beaches, restaurants, shopping, etc. Safe neighborhood close to the cliffs where you can run alongside the coast. House is recently remodeled with pleasant modern furnishings and fully equipped kitchen. Host is easy to work with on check-in & check-out procedures.

  • We had an absolutely amazing time renting this home for our girls getaway. The location is perfect; walkable to coffee shops and downtown La Jolla, and 2 blocks to the beach and ocean. The home had more than enough beds to accommodate our large group and the kitchen was fully equipped. If you have a large group and want to be next to the beach, this home is perfect. We'll be coming back soon!

    Harpreet2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • This house was wonderful! Very close to the beach and La Jolla village - easy walking distance to both. Beautiful neighborhood. Really nice roof deck with a beautiful view! I enjoyed my coffee up there each morning. :) The house has a really nice kitchen and easily accommodated my 5 coworkers and me for our offsite meeting. It was a great place to spend our days - the furniture was pretty darn comfy. Oh, and the beds...I slept very well! Thank you Cali for being a great host and quickly responding to our requests. We're already planning when we can come back!

    Michelle2017-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! This house was amazing, even better in person! Had a mini family reunion here and it was perfect to accommodate all of us. Cali had supplied everything needed, the kitchen and grill was exceptional. Everything looked brand new and very clean, the beds and bathrooms were set up as if we were staying in a hotel, it was awesome! We had a couple of beach days and it was an easy walk 10 minute walk. There were also restaurants and cafes walking distance. We are planning to have next year's reunion here, thanks Cali!

    Richard2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Cali was communicative and clear at every stage. La Jolla is a phenomenal place to stay, and the house is just as beautiful as it's surroundings.

    James2017-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! This place was amazing. We had an incredible stay from start to finish. The house was immaculate and super comfortable, with plenty of room for a large group. Communication with Cali and her team was very easy. We loved being so close to the ocean. Our only regret is that we did not have more time to enjoy this beautiful home and the area. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay!!!

    lila2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • The house is clean and neat. However, the internet connection is slow and unstable. The house is right beside a major street and is noisy with cars pass-by all the time. The garage allows only 1 car parking. If you have more than 1 cars, then you need to park on the street. It is not difficult to find the parking on the street though. Overall, I feel it does not worth the money we paid comparing to the other vacation home we rented in Lake Tahoe, Mammoth mountain, Silverthorn (in Denver area), etc. This is more of a regular house than a vacation home.

Prime La Jolla location and panoramic ocean views make this one bedroom, one bathroom Spanish gem the perfect vacation getaway!
Quiet cul-de-sac located steps from the Fay Avenue bike path that takes you right into La Jolla Village (North) or the heart of Birdrock (South). Short walk to the beach, restaurants and all that La Jolla has to offer.
  • Very nice, affordable top floor studio in a beautiful neighborhood. We really enjoyed our time in San Diego. The unit itself is a great value and perfect for two people... the view of the ocean and surrounding neighborhood are what make it really special. It had some quirks but has a nice vintage California feel. If you're looking for a clean place with a nice wine or coffee porch I'd definitely recommend.

Private Studio size room 500 feet from the most gorgeous beach in San Diego. Windansea Beach, La Jolla. The pictures speak for themselves. This is also one of the best surf breaks in Southern California. This is a private residence studio on the first floor of a 3 story town home building. 1 bedroom (huge) and 1 bath. The main bed is a brand new Tempur-Pedic California King mattress. There is also a new pull out bed as well and an extra double mattress that could be use for a fourth guest or kids. We have your family or crew covered. Most guests just use the free street parking. There are no overnight limitations. Very easy. Guests don't have access to it. Also, optional extra rental fees for 2 beach cruisers or children's vehicles & strollers. The best and easiest way to get around La Jolla is Beach Golf Cart rentals. Our property is waking distance to the beach with an amazing surf break and blue clear water, surrounded by some of the most gorgeous homes in La Jolla, very close local restaurants, convenience stores, and the entire La Jolla Village is right by. La Jolla is big tourist destination, but this location is enough off the path that you get a local vibe. However, still close to the main city of La Jolla as well. I've been to beaches all over the world and this is still one of my favorites. That's why it's hard to leave Windansea. You will not be disappointed. Hospitality: When you stay here there will be a local property manger that you can call if you have any questions or there are any problems with your stay at any time. We are very generous hosts and will even help you plan your trip to take in all the local restaurants, breweries, shops, sites, etc. that you won't find on your travel advisor sites. Come to Windansea and enjoy the sun and the surf. Chris
One of the most visited and gorgeous places in Southern California. Extremely safe with beautiful houses and beaches all around. Weather can't be beat.
  • Chris was very nice and accomodating for my late check in. the place is 100m away from windandsea, famous surf spot and incredible sunset :) I recommend the place !

    Adrien2015-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was great, and the room was superb. Just lovely in every way--beautiful bedding, prints, and furniture. And we really could hear the waves crash, and look at the moon shining on the ocean as we came up the walk at night.

    Valerie2013-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • The location of Chris's place is outstanding- it's literally a few steps from the most beautiful beach. The place is perfect if you want to spend your time outside- it's a little on the dark side as it's a unit at the back of a house so even the patio doesn't get the benefit of full sunlight but who cares when you have such a stunning beach on your doorstep. Everything was clean and as described- a huge TV, beach towels, really comfy bed, wifi...very comfortable and private. We made the booking last minute and Chris got everything organised even though he was out of town so perfect all round.

    Kim2015-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • STAY HERE! Chris was a wonderful host, easy to communicate with, and his AirBnb was perfect! The location-- It was so close to so many walkable restaurants and to the beach, but yet still secluded so we felt very safe, secure and it was quiet. The area is very upscale and the neighborhood is beautiful! The trip overall was a big success. We had some last minute changes and Chris was very helpful and accomodating. Can't say enough great things about this place-- would recommend it to a friend and will be staying here if we're ever back in town.

    Meredith2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed over Memorial Day weekend and had a wonderful time! The place was quaint and had all the essentials that you would need. The location was perfect because for us, the closer to the beach, the better! Not only was the place great, host Chris was extremely responsive with any question we had. He was also super helpful with tips and recommendations as needed. He really went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We traveled with our dog, so having a little fenced in area was really nice. Our dog wakes up early and loves being outside, so we were able to open the sliding door so that he could enjoy the sun while we squeezed in an extra 30 minuets of sleep. We enjoyed the stay and it was perfect for a weekend get away!

    Carly2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying at Chris's place for a week. The location was the best part because it was literally a block away from the beach (great place to see the sunset, too). He gave us a TON of great restaurants to check out and the whole place was very clean and accommodating. I can not think of a single flaw with this airbnb experience. Thanks, Chris!

    Eric2017-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • The location is unbeatable. The views and sounds unbelievable. Everything was great! Eat at the Promiscuous Fork right up the street. All in all a perfect place, very relaxing.

    Kenna2017-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was an awesome location and a great place to stay. Chris was very friendly and responsive with setting up a last minute reservation. Everything in the house is advertised and nicely appointed. Staying a 2 minute walk from the beach was epic! My wife and I walked down to watch the surf and surfers, it was very peaceful and beautiful. We had a spectacular time and would highly recommend Chris' house for your stay in LaJolla! Chris has been here a long time and has tons of great suggestions for dining and activities. You need to try the Promiscuous Fork for lunch which is just at the end of the street. Great food and cool owners!

  • This La Jolla oasis is the perfect escape for some R&R. A few blocks away from the beach & a beautiful backyard/courtyard to unwind was exactly what we needed for a girls weekend, a solo trip, or a romantic getaway. Debbie was wonderful and can provide great local recs, as well! Will definitely be back!

  • Debbie’s cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway! The cottage was clean, cozy and inviting. We especially loved the outdoor patio/courtyard. Debbie and her family were super nice and showed my husband (an avid surfer) where to catch the best waves. Location was amazing too - walk to a basically empty beach and 5-7 min drive to downtown La Jolla. We will be back soon, thanks Debbie!

  • This place was perfect for big groups. It is spacious, clean and is perfect for hosting friends and family for dinner, drinks or just coffee! We really loved using the grill and outdoor spaces for our meals and the master bedroom balcony for a bit of work during the day. Most importantly the location is a perfect 5-10 minute walk from Windansea. We could not have been happier and will recommend this to anyone who needs a place to stay in San Diego! Thanks guys.

  • The house was absolutely beautiful. Great view of the ocean from the rooftop terrace. The photos seen are exactly what you will experience during your visit. The garage is accessible, great AC, seemed to be either brand new or very recently renovated. The host was extremely responsive and respected our time & space as promised. answered all text messages and phone calls in a timely manor. Very clean home, and also very accommodating. Peaceful and quiet neighborhood. 5 stars across the board, thanks for the welcoming visit, definitely will return soon!

  • Staying at Ana and Mikael's house was great! Very comfortable bed and really nice amenities provided in the room, like the French press and snacks! Super-convenient location - I could walk to the beach or downtown really quickly. They were super-easy to communicate with before and during the reservation. I would definitely stay there again!

  • My parents had a great time at Windansea Beach. The area is very safe and convenient. They really appreciated how close the place is to everything else: the beach, restaurants, etc. Dave and Mikael were extremely welcoming and communicative; super easy check in and out process. Overall, a great experience!

    Vi2015-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Ana & Mikael & David were super helpful. They accommodated me at very little notice and made me feel very welcome. It's a great neighborhood and I would definitely return in future.

  • I had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb. As a single female traveller, and as a first-time Airbnb guest, I would recommend this place. The location is within 5 minutes walking distance to Windansea Beach and about 5 minutes drive to La Jolla Cove. I felt very safe here and was easily able to access other other districts to San Diego such as Gaslamp or Torrey Pines State Reserve via Uber or driving. I had a rental car with me and had no issues with parking. Public parking is available on the street free of charge. If you are looking for a quiet, secluded area in La Jolla, with breath-taking sunsets and watching the waves crash along the shore, I would recommend this location. I was also happy with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. The bed was very comfortable and there are tons of extra pillows, blankets, towels, etc. You have access to a private mini fridge and basic utensils for coffee/tea (no kitchen access unless arranged with host). The house has two bedrooms total and one bathroom. There is also a second section of the house that is connects to where two of the hosts live. The people that were staying in the other room were very quiet so I did not have any issues, however, I found that noise does travel in the house so if you are sharing the house with noisy people, that may pose an issue. I would definitely stay at this Airbnb again! La Jolla is a piece of heaven on earth and hope to be back in the near future!

  • This is a nice place to stay within a short walk to the beach. We stayed for two nights in one of their cute guest rooms right down the hall from another couple staying in their other guest room. Guests have a private room but share a small bathroom at the end of the hallway. We had full access to the common space where you enter the home and there's a really welcoming and homey living area and table. There is no access to the kitchen but coffee and tea is provided with a mini fridge in the rooms. Hosts were great with texting and communicating, but we only very briefly met in person on our last day in their driveway.

Where can you get a secluded studio in a Villa setting just steps from a world class surf destination at this rate? The Windansea family compound is located 10 houses from Windansea beach and just five minutes South of La Jolla Village in a private residential area. This is an ideal vacation spot. This completely remodeled and professionally decorated studio has a nautical theme. It offers close proximity to the beach with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. This studio is one of four units on the property. The front house is where my husband and I live with our daughter, Audrey. Behind our house you will find the other three units, including this studio. This studio is located under the two bedroom apartment and priced accordingly. You will hear the guests above. Windansea offers one of the top surfing spots in the U.S. ! This is a favored beach in San Diego. The sand is soft and white. The water is blue and clear. It's gorgeous. It is also great because it's never packed. You can always find a nice spot to set down your beach towels. This beach has great areas to explore with rocks, caves, and tide pools. You will see snorkelers, surfers, paddler boards, kayaks, sunbathers, swimmers, etc. it's just an all around great beach with something for everyone and beautiful scenery to enjoy. Amazing sunsets!
  • This was our first AirBNB experience and it was perfect! The first day we used the host's bikes and rode down to the nearest grocery story to get items for the weekend. The kitchen had everything we needed. The unit even had a small cooler for us to take to the beach plus beach towels. The house was a very short walk to a beautiful beach. We truly felt like locales for the short weekend. I highly recommend.

  • Great experience at Winanasea! Alex, Dayna and Terry were great hosts! The area was private, cozy and comfortable and there is an ocean view from right outside the compound! Windansea #1 was very quaint and cozy, small, but there was only two of us so it worked out fine. Would recommend!

    Amanda2015-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • Small walk from the ocean. Not really a beach but great to go sit on the rocks and enjoy the ocean. Well stocked kitchenette. No air conditioning so it did get a little stuffy sometimes but the studio did have an oscillating fan. Parking was never an issue and location was prime. We were 15 minutes max away from some of San Diegos Best restaurants.

    Travis2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location. Friendly hosts. Very pet tolerant. Should have rented the larger unit.

    Gail2016-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place and location. Dayna and Alex took care that we have a pack'n play for our little one and gave us tipps. It was also super for us to wash some clothes. Would definetely recommend to stay here!

  • From the moment you make your 'Instant Book' through the moment we left, our hosts made every effort you could think of to make our experience wonderful. My girlfriend and I booked the Windansea #1 in hopes to have a big experience while on a small budget. You couldn't ask for a better location to the beach for the price you pay. Our hosts really have a talent at making use of space. The room (as you can see from photos) is small, but it designed in a thoughtful way that comforts you and helps you feel that 'at home' kind of security. For our anniversary, we wanted to bring our 4 1/2 year old Dauschund Chihuahua mix pup to celebrate with us. When I brought this up, Terry was very quick to mention local restaurants and beaches that are dog friendly (which I was surprised how welcoming most places were even with the one's he didn't list). We brought her everywhere. Although we didn't get to spend much time in the backyard because of the rains we had during our visit, we never felt like we were intruding on the space. This is a great place for couples to relax in a quiet space. When you get settled in, read the information book they provide for you. We found it very helpful to get to know the space, your hosts, and the area. We plan to come back very soon. Once again - we couldn't of had a better experience. We have no complaints - just lots of love for our hosts, our experience, and La Jolla. Thank you once again! Note from our dog: WE HAD SO MUCH FUN.

    Scott2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice stay in La Jolla and the price was reasonable. Don't expect something lavish and you will be happy here. The location is pretty good and very close to the beach. It's about a 20 minute walk to downtown.

    Catherine2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay with Dayna and her family. The apartment we stayed in was very comfortable, very private. She warns that the walls are thin, which they are, but it was mostly quiet. Otherwise a great trip close to restaurants and San Diego and easy to head north as well.

  • The Pearl 2 cottage was a great place to stay for a girls trip with my best friend. The place is very nicely located not too far from the cove and lots of restaurants and shops and very convenient to Von’s, BevMo and The Comedy Store. The Pearl 2 is extremely clean with a nice modern look and we loved all the little extras like the wine, waters and Dr. Peppers. The outdoor private patio was lovey as well. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again next time I’m in town. The hosts were very nice and responded very quickly via text whenever I had a question. The place was just really cozy and fit perfectly what we were looking for!

    Kirsten2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Holly (the host) was fantastic about giving us the details about the cottage, directions and local locations. The cottage has some charm behind it, just looking at the exterior of it you can sense it has some history behind it. We are a family of 5 (3 girls), the space was just right and very comfortable. The outdoor living space was a plus. We cannot say enough about the location, it is very close to many eateries, grocery store and The Cove. We had a wonderful experience. Thank you Holly

    Denise2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Holly is an amazing host. She is proactive in letting you know about town events. She is very communicative. The home is located walking distance to all things in LaJolla Cove. The house was very clean and had some really nice perks like great shampoo and hand wash. The outdoor seating felt like a spa experience. My daughter who is 5 loves to play in the adorable doll house in the back. It was a fantastic place with a great host. We will book again next year.

    Mary2017-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great location near a Von's Market w/ Starbucks, The Comedy Store, a BevMo, and more. Tons of restaurants within 5-10 minute walk. Easy access to morning walks along the tide pools and La Jolla Cove. The space looks to have been remodeled/updated in the past 12-18 months - everything is very, very clean and looks new. Beds are comfortable. Note there is no A/C but there are multiple fans. Nice porch area. Entrance is very nondescript and does not face street, make sure to read host directions for entry.

La Jolla had the highest home prices in the nation in 2008 and 2009; the average price of a standardized four-bedroom home in La Jolla was reported as US $1.842 million in 2008 and US $2.125 million in 2009.[citation needed] The 2004 estimated population of the 92037 ZIP code was 42,808 [1] while the La Jolla community planning area had an estimated population of 31,746 in 2010.[1] La Jolla is surrounded on three sides by ocean bluffs and beaches[4] and is located 12 miles (19 km) north of Downtown San Diego, and 40 miles (64 km) south of Orange County California,[5][6] The climate is mild, with an average daily temperature of 70.5 °F (21.4 °C)[7][8][9] La Jolla is home to a variety of businesses in the areas of lodging, dining, shopping, software, finance, real estate, bio-engineering, medical practice and scientific research.[4][10][11] The University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is located in La Jolla, as are the Salk Institute, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Scripps Research Institute, and the headquarters of National University (though its academic campuses are elsewhere). "land of holes" (mat = "land").[12] The topographic feature that gave rise to the name "holes" is uncertain; it probably refers to sea-level caves located on the north-facing bluffs, which are visible from La Jolla Shores. It is suggested that the Kumeyaay name for the area was transcribed by the Spanish settlers as "La Jolla". An alternative suggestion for the origin of the name is that it is a corruption of the Spanish word "la joya", which means "the jewel". Despite being disputed by scholars, this origin of the name La Jolla has been widely cited in popular culture.[13] That supposed origin gave rise to the nickname "Jewel City", which was once commonly used but now exists mainly in commercial references. Early history See also: List of San Diego Historical Landmarks in La Jolla During the Mexican period of San Diego's history, La Jolla was mapped as pueblo land and contained about 60 lots. When California became a state in 1850, the La Jolla area was incorporated as part of the chartered City of San Diego. In 1870 Charles Dean acquired several of the pueblo lots and subdivided them into an area that became known as La Jolla Park. Dean was unable to develop the land and left San Diego in 1881. A real estate boom in the 1880s led speculators Frank T. Botsford and George W. Heald to further develop the sparsely settled area. In the 1890s the San Diego, Pacific Beach, and La Jolla Railway was built, connecting La Jolla to the rest of San Diego. La Jolla became known as a resort area. To attract visitors to the beach, the railway built facilities such as a bath house and a dance pavilion. Visitors were housed in small cottages and bungalows above La Jolla Cove, as well as a temporary "tent city" erected every summer. Two of the cottages built in 1894 still exist: the Red Roost and the Red Rest, also known as the Neptune and Cove Tea Room, vacant since the 1980s. The La Jolla Park Hotel opened in 1893. The Hotel Cabrillo was built in 1908 by "Squire" James A. Wilson and was later incorporated into the La Valencia Hotel.[18] By 1900 La Jolla included 100 buildings and 350 residents. The first reading room (library) was built in 1898.[18] A volunteer fire brigade was organized in 1907; the city of San Diego established a regular fire house in 1914. Livery stable owner Nathan Rannells served successively as La Jolla's volunteer fire captain, first police officer (the only San Diego police officer north of Mission Valley), and first postmaster.[19] The Bishop's School opened in 1909. La Jolla High School was established in 1922. The La Jolla Beach and Yacht Club (later the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club) was built in 1927.[18] Ellen Browning Scripps La Jolla Recreational Center In 1896 journalist and publisher Ellen Browning Scripps settled in La Jolla, where she lived for the last 35 years of her life. She was wealthy in her own right from her investments and writing, and she inherited a large sum from her brother George H. Scripps in 1900. Unmarried and childless, she devoted herself to philanthropic endeavors, particularly those benefiting her adopted home of La Jolla. She commissioned many of La Jolla's most notable buildings, usually designed by Irving Gill or his nephew and partner Louis Gill. Many of these buildings are now on the National Register of Historic Places or are listed as historic by the city of San Diego; these include the La Jolla Woman's Club (1914), the La Jolla Recreational Center (1915), the earliest buildings of The Bishop's School, and the Old Scripps Building at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, as well as her own residence, built in 1915 and now housing the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Her donations also launched the Scripps Memorial Hospital in 1924 (originally located on Prospect Street in La Jolla until it moved to its present site in 1964), the Scripps Metabolic Clinic (now the Scripps Research Institute), and the Children's Pool. Scripps Institution of Oceanography Scripps Institution of Oceanography pier The Scripps Institution of Oceanography, one of the nation's oldest oceanographic institutes, was founded in 1903 by William Emerson Ritter, chair of the zoology department at the University of California, with financial support from Scripps and her brother E. W. Scripps. At first the institution operated out of a boathouse in Coronado. In 1905 they purchased a 170-acre (0.69 km2) site in La Jolla where the Institution still stands today. The first laboratory buildings there opened in 1907. The institution became part of the University of California in 1912. Ultimately it became the nucleus for the establishment of the University of California, San Diego. Camp Matthews From 1917 through 1964 the U.S. Marine Corps maintained a military base in La Jolla. The base was used for marksmanship training and was known as Camp Calvin B. Matthews. During and after World War II the population of La Jolla grew, causing residential development to draw close to the base, so that it became less and less suitable as a firing range because of risk to the adjacent civilian population.[20] Meanwhile the site was being eyed as a location for a proposed new campus of the University of California. In 1962 Camp Matthews was declared surplus by the Marine Corps. The base formally closed in 1964, and that same year the first class of undergraduates enrolled in the University of California, San Diego. University of California Local civic leaders had long toyed with the idea of a San Diego campus of the University of California, and the quest became more definite following World War II. The Scripps Institution of Oceanography, under its director Roger Revelle, had become an important defense contractor, and local aerospace companies like Convair were pressing for local training for their scientists and engineers. The state legislature proposed the idea in 1955, and the Regents of the University formally approved it in 1960.[21] The campus was originally named "University of California, La Jolla", but the name was changed to "University of California, San Diego" in 1960.[22] The founding chancellor was Herbert York, named in 1961; the second chancellor was John Semple Galbraith, named in 1964. The university was designed to have a "college" system; there are now six colleges. The first college was established in 1965 and was named Revelle College after Roger Revelle, who is regarded as the "father" of the university.[22] A medical school was established in 1968. The landmark Geisel Library opened in 1970. Antisemitism The Camp Matthews site for the University was selected with some hesitation; one of the concerns was "whether La Jollans in particular would lay aside old prejudices in order to welcome a culturally, ethnically, and religiously diverse professoriate into their midst".[21] La Jolla had a history of restrictive housing policies, often specified in deeds and ownership documents. In La Jolla Shores and La Jolla Hermosa, only people with "pure" European ancestry could own property; this excluded Jews, who were not considered white. Such "restrictive covenants" were once fairly common throughout the United States; the 1948 Supreme Court case Shelley v. Kraemer ruled them to be unenforceable, and Congress outlawed them twenty years later.[23] However, realtors and property owners in La Jolla continued to use more subtle ways of preventing or discouraging Jews from owning property there.[24] Revelle stated the issue bluntly: "You can't have a university without having Jewish professors. The Real Estate Broker's Association and their supporters in La Jolla had to make up their minds whether they wanted a university or an anti-Semitic covenant. You couldn't have both."[25] The issue was overcome; La Jolla now boasts a thriving Jewish population,[26] and there are four synagogues in La Jolla.[27] Mount Soledad cross The Christian cross on Mount Soledad Main article: Mount Soledad cross controversy Mount Soledad is a 822-foot (251 m) tall hill on the eastern edge of La Jolla, one of the highest points in San Diego. A large Christian cross was placed at the top in 1913 as a prominent landmark. It has been replaced twice, most recently in 1954 with a 29-foot-tall (8.8 m) cross (43 feet tall, including the base). Originally known as the "Mount Soledad Easter Cross", its presence on publicly owned land was challenged in the 1980s as a violation of the separation of church and state. Since then the cross has had a war memorial built around it and was renamed "Mount Soledad Veterans War Memorial".[28] The issue has been in almost continual litigation ever since, with the city attempting to sell or give away the land under the cross. By an act of Congress, the federal government took possession of it under eminent domain in 2006. The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit declared the cross unconstitutional in 2011, and the Supreme Court of the United States declined to hear an appeal.[29] In December 2013, U.S. District Judge Larry Burns ordered that the cross be removed within 90 days, but stayed the order pending a forthcoming appeal by the government.[30][31] Arts La Jolla became an art colony in 1894 when Anna Held (also known as Anna Held Heinrich) established the Green Dragon Colony. This was a cluster of twelve cottages designed by Irving Gill, who had moved to San Diego only a year earlier and later became San Diego's best-known architect.[32] The La Jolla Playhouse was founded in 1947 by Gregory Peck, Dorothy McGuire, and Mel Ferrer.[33] It became inactive in 1959, but was revived in 1983 on the University of California campus under the leadership of Des McAnuff. It now incorporates three theaters: the Mandell Weiss Theatre (1983), the Mandell Weiss Forum (1991) and the Potiker Theater (2005). The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego was founded in 1941 in La Jolla, in the former home of Ellen Browning Scripps (designed by Irving J. Gill). The museum has undergone several renovations and expansions, the most recent in 1996 by Robert Venturi of Venturi, Scott Brown & Associates. [34] Geography Wipeout Beach Demarcation The community's border starts at Pacific Beach to the south and extends along the Pacific Ocean shoreline north to include Torrey Pines State Reserve ending at Del Mar, California. La Jolla encompasses the neighborhoods[35] of Bird Rock, Windansea Beach, the commercial center known as the Village of La Jolla, La Jolla Shores, La Jolla Farms, Muirlands, Torrey Pines, and Mount Soledad to name a few. The City of San Diego defines the community's eastern boundary as Gilman Drive and the Interstate 5 freeway [36] and the northern boundary as the University of California, San Diego (UCSD).[37] The U.S. Postal Service defines a somewhat larger area, assigning the community the 92037 ZIP code, recognizing it as a historically and geographically distinct area. This unique ZIP code allows addresses to read La Jolla, CA and is the only community within the City of San Diego so recognized. Additionally, it is in the 919xx/920xx sequence used for suburban and rural ZIP codes in San Diego County, rather than the 921xx sequence used for the remainder of the City of San Diego itself. These conditions sometimes lead to the erroneous impression that La Jolla is a separate city rather than a part of San Diego. The 92037 ZIP code extends the northeasterly boundary to Genesee Avenue and the northerly boundary to Del Mar, California. The UCSD campus, although it is part of La Jolla, has ZIP codes 92092 and 92093. Geology La Jolla is an area of mixed geology, including sandy beaches and rocky shorelines. The area is occasionally susceptible to flooding and ocean storms, as occurred in January and Decemb(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)] Mount Soledad is covered with the narrow roads that follow its contours and hundreds of homes overlooking the ocean on its slopes. It is the home of the large concrete Mount Soledad Easter Cross built in 1954, later designated a Korean War Memorial, that became the center of a controversy over the display of religious symbols on government property. The most compelling geographical highlight of La Jolla is its ocean front, with alternating rugged and sandy coast line and wild seal congregations. Popular sandy beaches, dotting the coastline from the south to the north, are: Windansea Beach Marine Street Horse Shoes Wipeout Beach Children's Pool Beach Shell Beach (La Jolla) La Jolla Cove Boomers Beach La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club La Jolla Shores Scripps Black's Beach (a de facto nude beach leading up to Torrey Pines State Reserve) Demographics According to U.S. Census Bureau figures, the ethnic/racial makeup of La Jolla is 82.5% White, 0.8% Black, 0.2% American Indian, 11.2% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 2.0% some other race, and 3.1% two or more races. Latinos, who may be of any race, form 7.2% of La Jolla's population. La Jolla had the highest home prices in the nation in 2008[39] and 2009,[40] according to a survey by Coldwell Banker. The survey compares the cost of a standardized four-bedroom home in communities across the country. The average price for such a home in La Jolla was reported as US$ 1.842 million in 2008 and US$ 2.125 million in 2009. The museum has a permanent collection with more than 3,500 post-1950 American and European works, including paintings, works on paper, sculptures, photographic art, design objects and video works.[51] The museum was renamed Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego in 1990 to recognize its regional significance. • RACHEL PROVIDES FOR YOU! My community service club attended a benefit ball and needed a place to get dolled up and crash after we party out. As a first timer using AirBnB, Rachel has made the experience better even before we entered her Immaculate home. She answered all my questions within a few hours and was patient with my updated guest list. Once we got to the location, my 13 members and I were in awe of the beautiful venue, spacious rooms, and multiple amenities. There was no need to bring extra materials because she had provided shampoo, blankets, towels, an inflatable mattress, boogie boards, coffee, etc. In the morning, we got to have a 5-minute walk to a secluded beach which had a built-in canopy. My friends and I took advantage of having a photoshoot at Rachel's home and the beach because of how aesthetic everything is. In fact, my members and I had such a memorable experience that we might want to return for a longer stay.

  • The house is as beautiful as it is in the pictures. So roomy and relaxing. Rachel was quick to respond to our questions and requests. The location of the house is perfect. Take a five minute walk and you're in front of the beach with a spectacular view. You can just sit there and watch the waves, the people walking their dogs, the surfers, the sunrise or the sunset.

  • We came to La Jolla for a family wedding with our nanny, two kids, and a baby. The place was as nice as the photos. There is a great kitchen, a small patio with a bbq, and a pull out couch. Some bonuses for traveling with kids: pack n play, sand toys, extra beach towels, kids cups and utensils. The place would also be perfect for an adult only party as well. Walking to the beach was great. Will come back for sure!!

  • We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. The apartment was exactly as shown and described, clean and tidy. We really appreciated the beach toys and chairs for our fun in the sun with our daughter. The location was superb - short walk to the beach, 10 minutes easy walk tops. Also, easy stroll to a playground and good local restaurants. Really really lovely property and exactly as pictures. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

  • It was our first family vacation after we had baby. This place made us feel at home, quite clean and spacious for my 8 month old to crawl around. Its few blocks from sea ( around 3-5 min walk )and quite safe and peaceful neighborhood. There are cafes and bars around. Overall it was a five star experience for us. Owners were pretty prompt in response and made sure that we are comfortable. One tricky thing that we faced was locating the parking, its in the rear-side and you can't open it from outside. So somebody need to enter the home and go to the garage and open it for you. But this is something that can we worked upon if you know it before hand. I will look forward to staying here again in near future as current stay was only for 2 nights.

We bought this house in 2015, but before moving in rented it to vacationers for a whole summer until the end of our lease. After that we moved in and have lived at this home for 2 years. During that time, we installed new TV's, gave it a face lift, planted trees, bought outdoor dining sets, installed a ceiling fan, added extra lighting, hung canopies for shade, and put in an outdoor dining-set. We have decided to rent out only because we are now a family of 6 (4 young children) and need more space. With regards to parking, from a local's standpoint you don't even need to rent a car. Unless you have infants/toddlers in baby seats, or plan to do allot of driving, between bikes that this rental has to uber, it is recommended to save your money. If, however you have a car, there is typically ample street parking.
The beach is the best part. It is within walking distance too... so you don't need to bother with the hassle of parking and driving.
  • Loved the place!

    Annie2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Well decorated and clean place, great location (easy access to beach, downtown, etc). Great value for money!

  • Enjoyed our stay!! Great location, size and overall feel of the place.

  • Great place to stay!!! Super charming and close to beach, shops, and really good eats! Everyone in our group loved the location. We took advantage of the beach gear provided by Nicole which included chairs, large umbrellas, bikes, beach toys for the kids, and even a volleyball! The patio is really nice and a great place to enjoy the warm nights. Washer and dryer on site as well. We will stay here again anytime we are in the area. Nicole is an excellent host!

  • Charming beach bungalow. The location was by far the best feature of this place. Walked to beach within minutes. Close to shopping and yummy food. If you'll be outdoors exploring for most of the day, this is the location to stay!

  • We had a great stay at the Beach Shack. It had plenty of room for 3 adults in separate rooms (one on a pull out sofa). Beds were comfortable and large, the patio where we dined was off the street and very private. Very clean. Good communications with the owner, Nicole. We walked and biked to the La Jolla Cove several times (3 bikes were available in the garage). Windandsea Beach was also just down the street. Very nice location just far enough away from downtown so that we always found a parking spot nearby.

    William2017-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Nicole's place is nice and clean. Also the location is great, a walk from Windansea beach and great restaurants.

    Kate2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Good stay! We stayed in the back rooms. Good to note the second bedroom is detached from the main house, and includes a half bathroom.

  • This place is beautiful! Super clean, very close to the beach, and overall a great experience. Would definitely recommend it!

  • Ed's place was within walking distance to many restaurants and the beach. It was a short drive to the airport.

    Heather2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • The location of this studio is very good. Walking distance to the beach as well as Restaurants and a grocery store and it has a parking spot. The studio is well equipped and the communication with Ed was excellent. The studio was very clean, but there was no flat cover sheet in the bed, and we had to cover with the duvet, and I don't think it was clean, maybe is just me but I like to cover with a sheet to protect the duvet from sweat or stains. Other than that, the location and the studio is great.

  • Great neighborhood but place is old & run down. Some improvements have been made to the unit but overall a depressing atmosphere. I wish someone had written this review, we would not have stayed. We were glad to only be there 2 nights We've traveled exclusively AirBnb for years, this was our only real disappointment.

  • Accurate description, very accommodating!

    Alex2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood is so gorgeous and easy to walk around to nearby restaurants and beaches. 5 minutes is a conservative estimate, as the walk to the closest beach was really only about 1 minute. We would come back to this apartment in a heartbeat.

    Mary2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ed was very helpful and easy to reach. The studio is exactly how it's described and looks in the photos.

  • This trip was my 55th b-day track out west. I travel solo and fluid so finding Katrina's place on a whim was perfect. She was spot on in communication, place was as described and located and I really appreciated the awareness of being stewards of the planet. Great price and location.

    Stacie2017-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • It is a beautiful spot! Looking over the ocean was nice and everything was very quiet.. I only wish I had known there were other guests staying in other rooms, besides that it was awesome!!

  • Lovely place and amazing view! Great location...I walked to the beach and local restaurants! I will be back...

    Velina2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Katerina's place has a lovely view cliffside in La Jolla. Woke up each morning to the sound of waves down below. It is worth noting that this room is only semi-private without a real wall, but is perfectly described in the description. And the rest of house itself is immaculate. Would happily stay here again.

    Brian2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Low-key space. Top of the world view. Easy access to the village and La Jolla shores by foot. Would fully recommend it.

    David2017-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Katerina responded promptly and was very nice. The location and view are awesome. I didn't mind the curtain divider; there was never anything noisy going on and the shared bathroom situation was fine. Very pretty balcony. I really like Elixir cafe, a pleasant walk away.

  • Fresh, clean home in the heart of Windansea Beach. Walking distance to beach and neighborhood park for small children or dogs and right off a beautiful walking trail! Clear check in process, no issues - would highly recommend.

    Emma2017-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • This house was beautiful! Overall, we had a great stay. Problems we had were: 1. WiFi (slow and sometimes it was not working) 2. Broken water tap in the kitchen. (They sent a handyman, and he eventually replaced it with a new one. So, this problem shouldn’t persist any longer.) 3. It was difficult to find the house. They had different addresses on the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps and actual address, which shouldn’t be their problem. But it took time for me to find the house. 4. A house next to this house is having some construction or remodeling, so it was noisy in the morning. (They started their construction around 8 am...) Again, we had a great stay, but there were some issues which might not persist longer. The house was very new and clean.
