New American Restaurant

“Three places in one for the perfect one-stop progressive dining experience or just get the best of both worlds and enjoy unforgettable world class food in an unconventional rooftop environment! Make a dinner reservation in advance for just after sunset at the Michelin-starred "California Modern" formal restaurant on the first floor. Get there before well sunset to snag a spot on the third floor "Ocean Terrace" to enjoy a cocktail as you watch a beautiful sky over the La Jolla cove. I like their tropical spin on a G&T served properly with peppercorns! If you'd like to stay put on the rooftop which often happens to me, they are famed for their fish tacos, I love the curried mussels, and their lobster roll is an explosion of decadence. If you want to have the full lavish dining experience, enjoy a fantastic dinner down below in their opulent formal restaurant as you watch the sky turn dark. After dinner, complete the circle with a cocktail at "Level2" the craft cocktail lounge. If the night is still young, go next door for live music and more great views at Eddie V's terrace.”

Beach
“La Jolla Shores is a great spot for families because the waves are typically not too strong and there are many outdoor activities to enjoy there. Kayaks, surfboards, and snorkeling/diving gear are available for rent also for those looking to be more active. There is also a playground adjacent to the beach for those looking to stay on land. In the fall, leopard sharks (they're harmless to people!) are often seen along the shallows of the beach with their babies. ”

“One of the best areas for sightseeing and shopping, La Jolla is well known for the amount of biodiversity. Get a kayak trip organized, check out the sea lions, catch some dolphins, or just go for some fine dining. A little far away but always a pleasant surprise. ”

“Weeknights 6-10pm/Weekends 7-11pm. It might be a chain restaurant but this is their best location nationwide and I’ve been to most of them! Just a short ride north of me on a bluff over the La Jolla Cove with a cozy bar, fire-lit patio and great late night specials!”
