“Sweet hiking trail with swimming holes. It’s free to access and rules are pretty relaxed so feel free to bring your dog and set up along the river. Keep in mind the water levels can vary depending on the amount of recent rain. To find the trailhead, navigate to Taco Deli at 1500 Spyglass Dr. ”

“Walking distance from house! Pool, baby pool, giant grounds, playscape, swings, basketball courts ... picnic there, bring your dogs, play frisbee, or relax and read, shoot hoops. We love this park! One of 3 within walking distance. Note: if you have small children, please drive to this park, due to crossing under Mopac overpass. 60 second drive, or 2 minutes if you hit the stop light! ”

“A truly "Austin" spot, castle hill is where all the best graffiti artists in town go to make their mark. Old school pros mingle with aspiring graffiti artists and the result is an outdoor art gallery for the people sprayed out on the footprint of what i believe is an old school foundation. Its a tourist destination for a reason but its also a blast to go and snap some pictures at. ”

“ Pretty city park right downtown where you’ll have city views. It’s not fenced in, so keep an eye on your fur baby. This is a great park to come to even if you don’t have your dog along.”

“ Right down the street! walk down Westover, turn right on Woolridge and then veer immediate left on Claire to the bottom of the hill. Go left or right, you can't go wrong on this paved hike and bike trail along Shoal Creek! If you're up for a long hike or bike ride, go right and it takes you all the way into downtown and passes Pease Park, the flagship Whole Foods and dead ends at the new City of Austin library.”

“The Lamar Beach section of the Town Lake hike and bike trail is best known for its pedestrian bridge, whose novel design is anything but pedestrian. The bridge has benches and plantings, and is a great place to watch the sunset. Great place to hike/bike/run The western part of Lamar Beach has spectacular fields of spring and summer wildflowers.”
