“A hot spot for good restaurants and bars as well. Have lunch/ dinner at Puro or Jojo's and at night go up the road to the bars on rua Pacheco Leao. Or to have a typical Brazilian meal/ delicious meat, go to Rubayat, the restaurant where you look out over horse races at the inner city jockey club. In the same area you have the beautiful open-for-all art school Parque lage which is worth a visit, they have recently opened a good relaxed restaurant inside. ”

“Rio’s Botanical Garden, really worth the visit. Commissioned by Brazil’s last emperor (yup…) due to his love of Brazilian flora. Very pleasant stroll, that can be coupled with one of Jardim Botanico’s (the neighbourhood) many restaurants.”

“The Gastronomic Victoria Centre, brings together three types of food in the same space on the Lagoon Headquarters: Favoritta (pizza) Waikai (Japanese) and Victoria (contemporary). Monday to Sunday, the restaurants are unique to the partners between 18h and 20h. Wishing you can still watch the horse races and to try their luck. Guaranteed fun!”

“It is a fantastic place. No charge to get in. Reservation is recommended. It is peculiar as from 20:00-23:00 you will see people of all kind of age enjoying nice music having a drink or playing on the snooker table. There is an open balcony with a nice view to the Lagoon At 23:00, they start a rock'inRoll live show, either Brazilian or not at 11:00pm which usually finishes at 00:30h. At this time, people over 40 leave and there is a long queue of young people at the door to get in for the DJ's Electronic Music.”
