  • We (16 guys) had a fantastic weekend at Evergreen Inn. The pictures shown in the profile reflected the house very accurately and Jakelle was timely in her responses and made sure we had everything we needed. I very much recommend this place for anyone looking for a great get away weekend!

    Tim2016-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jakelle was on site and was there to answer any questions. The space was large and had a variety of room for our bachelor party weekend. Even though it was remote there were clear directions to get in and made the trip stress free. Would definitely recommend

  • Great home to stay with a group of people. Good size and different spaces. Like a very big dining room, then opposite end a sorta great room with a pool table and games to socialize. We didn't take advantage of see the immediate neighborhood since we spent a a day in pismo. Overall great out, very clean. Accommodates a big group for small events.

  • Really incredible home in the Los Padres National Forest. Highly recommended. Very kind and welcoming family.

  • The Evergreen Inn is an amazing house, and is great for groups - with plenty of rooms and lounging/sleeping areas. We had a group of 15 for a birthday weekend and it was great. The house is close to Pyramid Lake which provided a great day time retreat before coming back and enjoying the BBQ at night. There's plenty of backyard area and a nice fire pit which Jakelle graciously kept stocked and lit for us at night. There's a lot of charm to this cabin - the layout is unique and there are plenty of personal little details throughout the house that made it a huge conversation piece all weekend.

    Daniel2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a blast! The house worked perfect for us and Jakelle was helpful with any questions we had.

    Daniel2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Everything went just swimmingly. The place was wonderfully quirky and had plenty of room and beds for all 11 of us. We also got to see the stars (including shooting stars!) at night. Jakelle was extremely communicative and accommodating. We would come back in a heartbeat.

    Sherrie2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our host was super accommodating and the place was bigger and more amazing than described in the photos.

Joe's Little cabin is the best place on the mountain to have a good time and enjoy yourself while making memories laughing. Joe's Little cabin is so cute comfortable and relaxing. Joe's Little Cabin offers wonderful fresh air, clear blue skies, and free views of the mountain. Joe's little Cabin is located in the heart of the land of four seasons, if that doesn't give you a good enough reason. Traffic, graffiti, and congestion is not included. See you soon
Joe's little cabin has a very comfortable Mountain feel. It has one bedroom with a queen size bed, and one sofa bed
Joe's little cabin is located in a great neighborhood . It's very quiet , you will only see about 10 cars a day pass by Joes little cabin. From the front yard you're looking right at the mountain with nice blue skies. There are gas stations , mini-marts , restaurants , markets , hardware stores , Parks , hiking , and so much more lovely drives all in close proximity of Joe's little cabin
  • This was a last minute trip we planned for a quick weekend getaway. It was even better than expected. Definitely perfect for two-four people. We absolutely loved it and didn’t have to ask for a thing. The cabin had so much personality and we we definitely weren’t excited to leave back home. We’ll be back to stay soon! Recommend for sure!

    Bella2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was warm and welcoming in a quiet neighborhood not far from town. Joseph and Jackie went the extra mile to make us feel at home and welcomed by offering coffee/tea and a bottle of wine and a manual explaining all we'd need to utilize the house amenities. It was a bit larger than we thought with a spacious, cozy cabin feel, nice wood enhancements and a great couch in front of a large screen TV. There was a BBQ available, full kitchen, great heating and a compact bathroom. We had the privacy we were seeking yet J&J were available and responsive when we had a question. It was above our expectations and really felt like we were staying at a relatives house! :) We'd definitely stay here again. Thank you for everything Jackie and Joseph!!!

    Gina2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Jackie & Joseph's lovely cabin ! It was a perfect romantic getaway with everything we could possibly need . Right from when we booked the cabin , Joseph & Jackie had been very pleasant to communicate with. On our arrival , we were pleased to find a warm welcome note by the hosts which made us feel special. Would love to visit again and definitely recommend to our friends. Thank you again for making our stay memorable & fun !

  • Great home in a quiet mountain-feeling neighborhood just a 10 minutes off the 5! Nicely decorated and has many amenities in the kitchen including baking goods along with kitchenware. Just note that the TV is very small and in the secondary bedroom. Angela is very nice and communicated well with us. I would definitely recommend staying!

  • This is a fantastic little house to stay in! It's in the middle of a small town that's walkable. It's pretty quiet and feels like a private getaway. The house is well-decorated and complete. You can very easily relax here. The host is wonderful and very communicative! We loved staying here over thanksgiving and it was easy to cook with such a well-stocked kitchen (a big plus for us). It's a quaint wonderful little house for two or three people. Angela was very helpful and friendly and very easy to communicate with. I absolutely recommend this place for a quiet staycation. We spent most of the days inside since it was cold outside and enjoyed reading books and playing games. Also, the jacuzzi tub is big plus!

    Katie2016-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great house in walking distance from town. We had a great time. Everything was comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook. The fireplace in the master bedroom is nice for the cold winter nights. Great place overall!

  • The entryway lights did not work, which typically would not be an issue. However there were dozens a black widows, big black widows by the entryways. I'm sure and I know that they were also by other areas of the house but the entryways what bothered me the most. They were also brown widows, I'm sure scorpions and snakes.

Nestled in the hills of the Los Padres National Forest, you will find our charming guesthouse. Nights are quiet with beautiful views of the stars. The house has a complete kitchen, washer and dryer, Television with DVD player and free Wi-Fi. A short walk (or ride) from the house leads to access to trails in the National Forest. Our home is conveniently located off Interstate 5 -- 45 miles from Bakersfield and 65 miles from Los Angeles -- giving guests access to both the rural and city life.
If you are interested in bringing horses, a neighbor two doors down the road offers boarding. Outside pens (arena & round pen) are $25/night per horse; barns stalls are $35/night per horse. She provides water and you provide the feed and hay. If you would her to provide alfalfa hay and feed the horses there will be an additional $10 charge per horse. She also has plenty of trailer parking space on her property free of charge. Please contact me directly and I will forward her contact information to you.
With only eight houses on the street -- a private dirt road -- our neighborhood is friendly and fairly quiet. As we all have acreage you will be greeted in the morning by the occasional crowing rooster and possibly serenaded to sleep by a coyote's howl. Should any problems arise, all the neighbors will freely offer a helping hand.
  • The guest house was so cute, the area was truly beautiful, and Laurie’s communication and care for her temporary tenants is truly remarkable. Please keep doing what you’re doing! I will definitely be coming back!!!

  • These guys are the nicest people we have met so far on our trip up the west coast. We arrived at their house after a long drive and everything was spotless, clear and comfortable. They left out a concise booklet that contained all the info about the house and the local area. They really invited us into their home, we got to learn so much about them and even got a short lesson in smoking meat. They went above and beyond with their hospitality! Could not recommend them more, what wonderful people!

    Jamie2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely spot. My boyfriend and I were driving from San Francisco to Arizona and needed a nice place to stay for the night. We were in and out quite quickly, but really enjoyed the time we had there. It's very comfortable, clean, easy to get to, and Laurie was very quick to respond to my questions. And the bed was a dream to sleep on. I will definitely keep this on my list for LA-area places to stay.

    Erin2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie was the BEST host!!! Her place was absolutely perfect! Everything was well managed, meticulous, and super clean! She was very easy to work with and very nice! The heat and air worked very well and the house was nice and cozy! She had everything we needed and the location was perfect!

    Theresa2017-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so great!!! Super cute and comfy! Had everything you need and the host was so thoughtful!! She left a box of toys for my little guys to play with as they had been traveling all day! We loved it!

    Katie2017-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house is a lot nicer and bigger than what the pictures show. Very clean and the bed was really comfortable! Definitely would recommend and I would definitely stay here again! Also Laurie was a great host and offered very helpful information.

  • We had a wonderful experience staying at The Oliver's guest house. Laurie provided clear directions with helpful tips on trails in Los Padres National Forest. After a long day of hiking we enjoyed a delicious dinner and lovely evening with the family. Laurie truly thought of everything and goes out of her way to make you feel at home. The guest house is clean, comfortable and has everything you will ever need. Thank you Oliver family!

    Miriam2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Laurie was such a good host. The place don't look like the pictures... ITS MUCH PRETTIER AND SOOO MUCH BETTER!!! Loved it! Pictures don't do justice to this lovely place. Loved how clean it was upon our arrival and I loved that it was well equipped with everything you need and more... it is very close to all we wanted to do in this trip and the way Laurie provides detailed information of available hikes, restaurants and things to do it's just amazing! The bed is soooo comfortable I took a 4 hour "nap"... We will definitely come back and stay at the Oliver's place...

Fully furnished, beautifully decorated cabin bordering the Los Padres National Forest. Ralph Lauren wicker canopy bed for two. Loft upstairs with single bed. Wood-burning stove. Executive-style - bring your personal items and food - everything else available.
Go out the back gate and you are on national forest property. Hike up to the right, past the other cabins and homes into 2 million-plus acres of beauty. This house has brand new and refurbished everything inside a 1940's quaint, custom cabin.
Nearby to wonderful hiking trails, Hungry Valley ORV State Park, star gaze with astronomers atop Mt. Pinos, snow shoe and cross-country ski in winter time, tour the wild flowers in spring, including the California State Poppy Reserve, horse back ride, mountain bike, back pack or day pack, wildlife viewing - watch for the California Condors flying overhead!
  • This was a really wonderful trip. Arrival was a breeze - the location is remote but very easy to find using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps. The key handover was seamless. Diane was on call for anything we needed but otherwise unseen. The house was just wonderful - you know one of those houses where someone has really paid attention to what the surroundings might demand and what the guests might need? It was one of those - roomy, cool, bug free, and even had coffee in the cupboard in the morning. The town itself also has good restaurants and all the amenities you need. Great great trip.

    clarice2016-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's Cozy Cabin is a perfect mountain get-away! We spent two nights there after a long drive across the desert, and we were rested, relaxed, and re-charged by the time we left. Diane was easy to reach, gave some awesome local pointers, and made the hand-off of keys a snap. The cabin is very spacious and well appointed with beautiful furniture and a full kitchen. Plus a washer and dryer -- so handy! The bed is soooo comfortable with nice linens -- I slept like a hibernating bear. ^_^ It is on a quiet little street -- we could hear an owl hooting and geese honking in the distance. The cabin itself is a thing of beauty, solidly built and just so nicely furnished. The front door -- it's a work of art! I took a photo for inspiration. Frazier Park is a small town with several excellent restaurants, a fantastic little market, and a terrific local bar, Sue's Tavern. It's an easy walk to everything from the cabin, though keep in mind that the return trip is all up-hill! We really enjoyed exploring on foot, but we do walk quite a lot. The main feature of our trip was star-gazing on Mt. Pinos, which was fantastic! The area has dozens of trails for hiking, backpacking, picnics, etc. We hope to return in the spring sometime when the mountain flora is in bloom. We'll definitely stay at the Cozy Cabin when we do!

    Julie2016-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's place is cute as a button, with everything you might possibly need for a comfortable stay. Right up the street is an entryway into hiking trails and beautiful vistas of the valley.

    David2017-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • Diane was super accommodating! The cabin backs up to Forest Service lands that has a nice little walk to the top of a hill with a great view of the town below. We enjoyed going to nearby Pyramid Lake and Pine Mountain Club. The cabin is definitely cozy and I'm sure children would get a kick out of the loft room above the living room.

    Kevin2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Diane's place is exactly as advertised - near walking to acres of scenic views and hikes. Its comfortable, a great place to get away from the city and be quiet - no wifi or television make it perfect for those - like myself - who are looking for some quiet. Dianne was communicative, responsive, and made sure the place was clean and fresh. A wonderful trip in the mountains!

    Alvin Cowan2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great experience for me. The cabin was great. It felt very homey, cozy, and quiet! Everything had a nice set up. Also loved the extra room upstairs! Washer and dryer was so nice to have. Everything was so much better than the pictures. Diane was very responsive and explained everything so clearly, very happy of having her as my host! Will love to be back here. I had a great time at a great place.

    anna2017-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Diana was an attentive host and was flexible to our needs. The cottage is clean, cute and very comfortable. The fireplace in the bedroom was cozy and relaxing and the large sliding glass window in the bedroom overlooks open space with a nice view. The bed is comfortable and quaint. A block from the cottage are some jeep roads to the top of the hill for quick panoramic views. We were also pleasantly surprised by the Red Spot Vegetarian Restaurant in Freizer Park - the food was outstanding and very heartfelt service. We are planning another stay at this cute Airbnb. A lot to explore in the area.

    Kent2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • House was very nice and in a cool area. Plenty of room for the three of us staying there. We took Diane's advice and drove up to the Mt Pinos parking lot for stargazing. Incredible. I was disappointed that there was no wi-fi, but at least it prevented me from working on the long weekend.

Charming, cozy and off the beaten track of city life. The perfect place for a romantic getaway or a peaceful writer’s retreat. More stars than Hollywood on Academy Awards night! The cabin is a guesthouse on a ¾ acre terraced property with a bedroom and reading area upstairs. Downstairs is a newly renovated bathroom, a kitchenette. Close by the cabin is a chicken coop with 3 chickens. 2 dogs also live on the property but are usually not home during the day on weekdays.
  • Susan's cabin is an absolute delight. It is so quaint and sweet and tastefully decorated. It is truly a retreat, as it was so quiet and peaceful while we were there. Susan communicated very well, was there to greet us, and had a bottle of wine chilling for us in the refrigerator. We enjoyed sitting on the patio with a glass and later around the fire pit, where she joined us for a chat. She was always readily available if we had any questions or needs and is a great host. Her place is a perfect get-away from the city.

    Shirley 2017-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • First off, Susan is absolutely lovely and has such a peaceful presence! Her property resonates this calmness and serenity! The cabin itself is darling with a perfect mix of original and modern touches. I have been visiting Frazier Park and PMC for 20 years. This entire property is a gem! This listing is perfect for a weekend or week long getaway. Without a doubt, this is the place to stay for solo travelers or couples! We hope to return with no plans other than curling up with good books and enjoying the luscious grounds. The Red Dot is my favorite restaurant between Los Angeles and San Francisco! It's right down the road from this Airbnb. You'll find it is filled with incredible people, good live music on certain evenings, and serving delicious vegetarian/vegan dishes! This is 5-star winner! Just book it!

  • The cabin is beautiful, perfect for a quick escape from the smog, traffic and noise of the city. Susan is a fantastic host.

    Godwin 2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is very quaint and beautifully appointed. There were fresh mini danishes, fruit and a bottle of wine waiting for me when I arrived and despite the very late hour, Sue greeted me at the gate with a smile. The mountain setting was breathtaking and there was a comprehensive compendium in the cabin of outdoor activities and food options. Would love to go back one day!

    Kate2017-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • A very lovely cabin that has lots of thoughtful touches by Susan. The bed is super comfortable and all of the amenities are well provided for. My only feedback is that it got very warm in the cabin during our stay over July, although a fan is provided that helps. The cabin is also about 10 feet from the main house which was fine for us but maybe not for those who want absolute privacy.

    Sarah2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect getaway from LA esp as only about 2 hrs away. Lots of trails nearby to soak in the mountain nature and fresh air. Susan's rental is quaint, very clean, and sits on a lovely piece of property. She kindly introduced herself and offered a small breakfast and juice. And I recommend trying The Red Dot restaurant. Excellent vegetarian food and great service.

    Rachel2017-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • It was a very pleasant experience to stay 2nights in this adorable cabin. Susan is extremely friendly and helpful. And she is always there when we needed help. The yard is super beautiful and calm with plenty of followers and a fire pit. Prior to our arrival, Susan added a microwave for us, she also prepared fresh orange juice and croissants for all of us. In the meanwhile, she also gave us a lot of freedom and space to do our own things. It was really a great experience. Thank you so much Susan for having us! We highly recommend this place for people who wants to spend time around the area.

    Helayna2017-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gil was a real good host, a very nice guy and even a good musician (if your lucky you may get to hear him play a bit) as we got a little taste of his guitar picking. Gil was very welcoming and our check in was easy. It was very easy to communicate with Gil and his response time was pretty quick. He has quite a spot with amazing views of the mountains and the National forest in his backyard! The house is sort of rustic, western style and fitting for the area. The bedroom was big and the kingsize bed is huge! If you like a soft mattress and a bed you just sink into this is the place for you! My wife loved it but my back seems to like a slightly firmer mattress but my brain really wanted to love it! Gil is new to hosting Airbnb and I think once he gets some good feedback and constructive criticism he will be on his way to "super host" after working out some kinks. The bathroom situation is a little different and not all that convenient as there is a "shared 1/2 bath" downstairs separate from your room and the "master bath" containing the shower is also shared but upstairs while your room is downstairs. We adjusted and it wasn't a huge deal as we were only there 1 night. Gil did tell me that his plans are to convert the 1/2 bath to a full bathroom that would only be for the Airbnb guests and I think that would be a big improvement to anyone's stay. Gil had coffee, bagels and fruit for us in the morning which was nice. Gil has some work to do in both bathrooms but in general our stay was good and we enjoyed Gil. Would stay again.

    Thomas2017-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very restful night at Gilbert's place: the room is large and homey, airy and quiet, with a view of desert mountain hillsides. The bed is super-comfortable. Communication was easy and prompt. And our kind host made us fresh oj and bagels in time for a very early departure! Highly recommended, would definitely stay again!

  • Gilbert is a wonderful host. His room available was as pictured and the bed very comfortable. The decor in his home is perfect for this quiet mountain community. The shared space in the house is ample, comfortable, and offers clear views of the nearby mountain range. I shall return!

  • Great location just off the freeway but feels rural. Comfy bed . Fresh orange juice waiting for us in the morning. Perfect for a stopping point between Bay Area and San Diego. Gilbert very nice.

Great spot for hikers, Los Padres National Forest. 10 mi from Mt. Pinos. 45 min. from L.A. Perfect artist retreat. Quite cottage with a great view. potters wheel available, glass fusing studio, also workshops for an added fee. 5 min. off the 5 fwy
  • Great value for the price! We arrived while Kate was out but had no trouble getting into the cottage. When she arrived, Kate was very courteous and very welcoming--exactly how an AirBNB host should be. It's very easy to get to while being nestled in enough to give substantial privacy. The cottage itself is a bit older so for those expecting a five-star hotel, this isn't the right choice. However, the amount of room, full kitchen with all utensils and dishes needed, and washer/dryer make it a great choice for anyone staying a while. We didn't have a chance to use the fire pit but there is one available and a brief glance outside at night showed that it would have been a great experience to sit out under the stars next to the fire. The organic coffee shop in front of the cottage was very convenient. All in all, a great experience for the price.

  • Such a cute little cottage. We loved it! Had everything you needed, would definitely come back.

  • A very nice little cabin. Just a few minutes off the I5 in an area where there aren't many hotels, so it was great to find this place. It's right next to a cafe to get coffee and breakfast.

    Nigel2016-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Kate was nice and easy going. The vegetarian kitchen and coffee place near by we're both great additions. The chickens were fun too. It was a comfortable place.

  • Kate was there to greet us when we arrived and very friendly. We were quite cnfortsble.

  • My boyfriend and I had a very pleasant stay here! The cottage was nice and cozy. Perfect for getting away from the city. It was hard to find especially in the dark as we arrived close to midnight. It's located literally behind the coffee shop! Kate was very accommodating to our late arrival and left the lights on for us to enter. My only concern was that the stove did not have a fan so it was hard to cook since there wasn't anything to filter smoke. It wasn't a big deal though and there are plenty of restaurants very close by. I would definitely stay here again!

    Leslie2016-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • I accidentally booked this place thinking it was close to Bakersfield (which it was not). We made it into an adventure and had a nice time at Kate's place. It was walking distance to a great vegetarian restaurant and we used Kate's wifi to stream football after dinner. It fit the bill for us. We needed a comfortable place to crash for the night. I would note that there is a rooster in a pen directly next to the bedroom that woke us up. Not a problem as we were getting up early to drive to northern Cali but wanted to point that out.

    Rachel2016-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Didn't get to meet Kate, but we came in quite late and she was great about our late arrival. The cottage was perfect for us as we just needed a place to sleep on our road trip, but I would recommend this place if you are visiting the area or hiking in the mountains that are literally across the street. A great option that feels hours away from LA, when really you're quite close. The cottage is behind an organic coffee shop (that unfortunately we did not try) and is walking distance to a nice vegetarian restaurant that we had breakfast at.

Welcome to my mountain retreat complete with three bedrooms, two full baths and ample parking. This beautiful home borders the Los Padres National Forest. • If you’re looking to get away from the busyness of life and soak in peace and quiet - this is the place for you. The house was warm and inviting; Cassandra left treats along with instructions and made us feel very welcome. Any time I needed to get ahold of her (which wasn’t often), she responded quickly and kindly. Her backyard view left me speechless- it is truly unique and gorgeous! Definitely on our list to visit again!

  • Cassie was easy to get a hold of, if necessary. The whole stay beginning too end went so smoothly that there was no need to reach her. She did keep in contact with me, though. The place itself was so nice. It was very warm and inviting. It felt like home. It was soooo quiet, and the patio out back faced beautiful hills and greenery. It was nice to have my coffee out there and watch some wildlife. If you are looking to relax and get away this is the place for you. And a nice size house at a great price.

  • This place is amazing!! The Apartment is huge, and welcoming decorated. We used the gas-grill for making dinner on the terrace and had a amazing view and a clear starry sky. We had a wonderful time (we stayed one night and it was way to short) and we really loved to stay at Terry and Militsa´s place. Both are very kind and courteous. We highly recommend this Place!

Despite us arriving quite late in the evening, Terry was there to give us a warm welcome. You have your private place with separate entrance, two clean bathrooms and enough comfortable beds. We had a really nice visit and would definitely recommend Terry and Militsa!

  • Terry and Militsa were incredible hosts! By far the best experience. My boyfriend and I spent his birthday at their place and we could not have had a better time. Their place is so beautiful and the scenery is also gorgeous. As soon as we arrived, Terry showed us around and made us feel welcomed. We even got to pet the barn animals in the morning. Will definitely be back soon.

  • THIS PLACE WAS AMAZING!! Me and 2 friends just wanted to get away for the night and this place was perfect, better than expected. Terry and Militsa were lovely and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Terry built us a fire both inside and out, lots of space in the guest living area. They also let us help feed their mini's, goats, and horses, so much fun! I highly recommend this place.

My place is close to town with golf, tennis, swimming, dining, and great views. You’ll love my place because of the views, wildlife (deer), hiking, and mostly the silence! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). There is limited internet (similar to dial-up in capacity but the speed is good).
It is one of the few tiny cabins left. It can accommodate 5 comfortably. Both bedrooms upstairs, living room, bath and kitchen below. The kitchen is fully stocked with equipment...all you do is bring the food. We do have internet. Here is a brief description on usage: 8:01am to 9:59pm is peak hours 10:00pm to 8:00am is offpeak We have limits on data usage during peak hours. We do not have any limits on the amount of data you can download and upload during offpeak hours. Here are the directions on how to change the Playback Settings in Netflix, which will lower the amount of data you use when streaming: Log into Netflix Put your cursor over your name in the upper right hand corner of the Netflix screen, click on "My account" on the menu that pops up. On the account page, go to "My Profile", and click on "Playback Settings". Change the Data Usage per Screen setting to "Low". Uncheck "Play next episode automatically". Click "Save".
The houses are mostly cabin style and the streets are quiet. Strolling couples and dog walking is common.
  • This little cabin is great for a quiet retreat from the city. It is only a couple hours from LA, but feels secluded from the rest of the world. It is the perfect size and location for a couple, or maybe a small family, looking to enjoy some fresh mountain air. Depending on the time of year, be sure to bring warm clothes and blankets. The heaters work, but it does take a while for the cabin to get warm. Be advised that there is no Wifi available in the cabin, and if your cellular carrier is AT&T, you will not have reception in the cabin. You will pick up a signal if you go in to town though, if you need to check your email and whatnot. Food and beverages are available from a number of markets and restaurants in town, about 5 miles away from the property, so you'll want to plan ahead what foods you want to have. But, if you forget something, it's not the end of the world going in to town to pick it up.

  • everything is cool, we like this place, it's very quite. Room is super clean. Host is very very nice.

    Lin2016-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is nice. We are from Alaska, so some things were unexpected. We did not know how to use a pellet stove so we did not use it. Usually there are coal or wood stoves in Alaska. The shower is limited in height, if you are over 5 ft 7 inches it's a bit tight. We mainly just went to the cabin to sleep. There is plenty to do around the area. Pyramid lake was beautiful. The sky at night was filled with a million stars. It was nice to just relax. There is a Mexican restaurant down the hill that we went to everyday and got to meet the owners, really nice people of Los Pinos restaurant. The neighbors were friendly.

    Nelly2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I rented the cabin to get away from the city and to enjoy the snow. We were there for a few days and it snowed the night we arrived. The cabin was exactly what we wanted, not too big and not too small. Very cozy and intimate. We will be back again. * Note for future visitors, only Verizon gets signal up there, so if you don't have Verizon, you will not be able to use your phone to make calls or surf the internet. Bring a radio and movies.

Private studio with additional cabin for lounging and extra space. Nestled in the Los Padres National Forest in beautiful Lockwood Valley. At 5500ft elevation highs are in the upper 80s and drops to the cool 40s at night. Bring warm clothes. On private ranch with BBQ and fire pit for evenings under the stars. Enjoy miles of trails for hiking, dirt biking or horseback riding. Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, writers or artists and only 90 minutes from Los Angeles! Horse rentals available nearby.
Privacy! I am listing two rustic cabins with full amenities. They are detached from main house with a private patio area. Main cabin is a studio with full size bed, desk and bathroom with kitchenette... Microwave, toaster, hot plate, toaster oven and small refrigerator. The second cabin, on the same deck has a sofa bed, desk and dresser. Bathroom access is only through main cabin. Can also be used for office or studio space.
Very peaceful and quite, surrounded by National Forest with nearby private ranches. Many trails available right outside gate for mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking or dirt bike riding.
  • What a serene place to just get away. I would recommend this for the single traveler/writer who is into rustic settings and a super quiet environment. You should know, the kitchen isn't really a kitchen as it's technically IN the bathroom, which at first is a challenge to work with, but again, you're in a rustic setting, so you make it work. For the rate, it's hard to argue with. I was able to cook simple meals and I was fine with it. It's also nice to know the area is completely fenced in, which allowed my pup to sniff around and play with Gigi's two sweet labs. Gigi was great with communication even though she was offsite while I was there.

    Dan2017-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Gigi is an amazing host. I was looking for a quite place to celebrate the one year anniversary of my sons passing. I was able to bring his dog with me and he had a great time running around Gigi’s property. The evening chill was perfect for a fire and watching the stars. Her fresh eggs were a great addition to our breakfast. I will definitely go back.

  • I stayed at the Cabin for one night in October. The space is as described, and very rustic. Make sure to pack warm clothes as it gets very cold at night even inside. Note the only access to the bathroom/ kitchen corner is through the main cabin.

  • We were super lucky to score a last minute trip to Gigi's 'Peaceful Mountain Cabin' for some relaxation and stargazing. Scored both! Gigi welcomed my girlfriend, our boy Charlie, and I with a grand tour of the property - the cabin itself is kind of small but super cozy and comfortable. The property overall is very nice, gated, and well kept. We enjoyed marshmallows over the fire and looking up at the heavens. Tons of stars! It was fun, would definitely stay again!

    Ian2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a relaxing weekend to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Gigi's cottage is super cozy and relaxing, and we felt very welcome. I am always excited when I get to go somewhere with my dog and I can just relax and know that he really is welcome. We were interested in a horseback ride, and Gigi recommended to check in with James Zoppe ((URL HIDDEN) who has a ranch next door. We had a wonderful time, got to see a nice part of the national forest, and learned a bit about jousting. I definitely recommend this place!

    Charlotte2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second stay here. Gigi started our stay with a bowl of fruit and dozen freshly laid eggs from her chickens. She's very attentive to her guest needs and respectful of their privacy. We were out in Fraiser Park to shoot a commercial and Gigi brought us a popup canopy to help protect our gear. The Cabin is located in a quite remote area that is great for photography, star gazing and off road driving. It's Rustic and comfortable. We will be back.

Brand new contemporary cabin with new furniture and appliances throughout. Only one hour from Bakersfield and 90 minutes from LAX, but your state-of-mind will feel like you are a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of California.
This 2016, one story home offers a huge living area/kitchen/dining room with new appliances and furniture throughout. With 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, all 1,360 square feet are fully functional. Our family calls it God's Cabin because the space is filled with peace and tranquility. Nestled away in the pines only 60 minutes from Bakersfield and 90 minutes from Los Angeles, you will feel like you have left all the stresses of a busy life in a completely different state. Additional amenities include a HDTV with DVD player and an assortment of DVDs, Propane BBQ, wood burning fireplace and much more. This property is conveniently located off Voltaire Drive, the second entrance into the beautiful private community of Pine Mountain Club.
Most of the surrounding properties are vacation homes with minimal noise and traffic. Our place is tucked away in a cul-de-sac, so safe for kids.
  • This place is wonderful! We spent Labor Day weekend here during the heat wave in LA but the weather was pleasant, and the area was clean and quiet. Just remember, in the mountains there will be bugs, but there will also be bug spray. Scott was extremely attentive, responding to any messages quickly and the place was furnished with everything we needed from extra towels to emergency toothbrushes to games and movies. Pine Mountain Club itself also has a lot to offer with a swimming pool, interesting activities/events (there was a hoedown during our stay) and plenty of hiking trails ranging from short and easy to difficult. We managed to knock out two major SoCal peaks in one hike (Sawmill Mountain and Mt. PInos). My family and I would DEFINITELY stay here again.

Welcome to the Artist Hideaway - This is my home, available to rent while I'm out of town - I have lived in LA 10 years, and sometimes you just need some real quiet. Frazier Park / Pine Mountain Club is 20 minutes off of the 5 freeway, a 1 hour and 26 minute drive from the valley (don't leave between 3-7pm on friday!). The altitude is 5500 ft, giving this area its own weather - storms in the summer/fall and snow in the spring/winter. The house is full of windows, set high up off the street.
The house has a full kitchen with stove, microwave, blender, toaster, keurig (and coffee percolator), salt, pepper, olive oil, basic stuff. Living room has a big desk for those who want to knock out some work (with an amazing view), futon couch (very comfy for sleep), lounge chair. House is in a neighborhood but raised high off of street so views are unblocked by any neighbors. In fact you can't see any neighbors from inside the house. Also a big wrap around porch, turn off all the lights and stargaze. Bedroom has a night stand and bed, air mattress if you need it. The master bathroom has a tub and shower. Towels, sheets, pillows, extra blankets, sleeping pads also provided.
The neighborhood is about a 18 minutes off the 5 freeway, and a 5 minute drive away from pine mountain club, where there's a general store, restaurants, some boutique shops, a coffee shop. Just past that there's a lot of trails if you wanna hike, I'll leave a little packet with directions to a couple of cool spots.
  • Josiah's place was the perfect spot for my much needed mini retreat. The house is close enough to shops and restaurants, and far enough from the rest of the world that I was able to get lots of work done.

    Scott2017-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place in the mountains. It's really good for getting away from LA for a little bit. My suggestion would be to bring your own groceries. Just be aware that there are VERY BASIC general stores available nearby. Also be aware that many restaurants and cafes nearby are family-owned and therefore not always open during posted hours. The place itself, though, was nice. I particularly enjoyed the wraparound deck during sunset.

  • The place is located near great hikes and off-road trails. I had an amazing time here. It's quiet and still near civilization where you can go eat and not be too secluded. The place is big and not over crowded with furniture. I was able to connect with the host when I needed to and they responded quickly.

  • Wow! Our family LOVED this place! We were kinda nervous to try an entire home for our first family trip for Thanksgiving this year. My husband has a HUGE family (7 siblings + their spouses and kids) and weren't sure at all how we can all fit in one place and have the amenities that we want for the adults and the kids. Sam's cabin was the perfect place for us! The place and the rooms were very spacious, lots of beds, plenty of towels, blankets; bathrooms were clean, kitchen has everything you would need and we all stayed warm and cozy during our stay. The kids and adults enjoyed the beautiful game room, heated pool and also the jacuzzi! Since its only 15 minutes away from the Tejon outlets, our families were able to shop there during our stay. It was also close to the freeway but was in a private property. We didn't have to worry about the noise or neighbors :) Sam was such an amazing host. He was literally available 24/7! He was super helpful and made sure that we enjoyed our stay. Whenever we needed something, he was ready to help! He also gave us some free drinks on Thanksgiving! Such a pleasant surprise! Thank you Sam! If you're looking for a cabin (entire home) to stay in, I highly recommend this place! Everyone in our family LOVED it and will definitely be back!

  • Sam and his home were very welcoming! There were absolutely no problems with the cabin and our expectations were far exceeded. Anything and everything that we needed was readily available at the Cabin. There were no neighbors within earshot, and the entire property was very fun especially knowing that there is no possibility of noise complaints. We elected to pay to heat the pool which I FULLY recommend doing as we used the pool almost the entire time. The games room was also a great addition as the equipment was brand new and of high quality. Everything about the cabin was designed for large groups, everything from bedding to cookware to space in general if you have a large group then this is the cabin to go to.

  • Sam was extremely helpful from the moment we made the reservation till when we checked out. He remains in constant communication throughout and is extremely helpful for the home. As for the house, the pictures only understate how amazing this place is like. The indoor pool as well as the game room are an absolute hit! The actual house is amazing and truly remarkable. Overall, it's nothing else but Great!

  • Sam is such a great host. He made sure we are comfortable and well taken care of. He's very reliable and a man of his word. The place is beautiful and has everything you'll need. The Game Room is a big hit for the kids as well as the swimming pool. While the Sauna and hot tub were enjoyed by the not so young ones.
