“At 3,491 feet, Mount Greylock is the highest point in Massachusetts. Rising above the surrounding Berkshire landscape, dramatic views of 60-90 miles distant may be seen. It became Massachusetts' first wilderness state park, acquired by the Commonwealth in 1898, to preserve its natural environment for public enjoyment. Drive up the 8 mile road to the summit or hike a rugged section of the 11-mile stretch of the Appalachian Trail. The reservation has dozens of trails you can explore, Thunderbolt, Hopper, Stony Ledge, Bellows Pipe, Mt. Prospect, CCC Dynamite, and Bernard Farm are the more noted trails.”

“Rail trail for bicycles moving through a variety of picturesque landscape. Stop for a nice, cold beer on the converted rail station bar, if you like. ”
