Our charming cottage, just a short drive away from the Suffolk Heritage Coast, sleeps 3 people. Visitors to the White Cottage have their own sitting/dining area, bathroom and 2 bedrooms up their own staircase. Boutique singer/songwriter studio available for hire-please enquire.
The White Cottage is a grade 11 listed dwelling dating back to the 17th Century. The cottage has views across the fields to the front , and a beautiful spacious garden to the rear. The property features open stud work, exposed timbers and a multi fuel stove. We have 2 bedrooms-sleeping 3 people. Although there is no kitchen for guests, a nespresso machine and a supply of coffee pods are provided. We recommend a visit to our very local farm shop cafe for a superb choice of cooked breakfast/brunch/lunch if required. Plates, cutlery, glasses and bottle opener are provided if guests want to bring their own provisions to the cottage,or order a takeaway to be delivered. Guests are also welcome to use the barbeque. An electric cold box is available for guests to chill drinks and food. Off street parking to the front of the cottage is available.
Lower Hacheston is North-East of the village of Wickham Market where there is a full range of facilities and shops, and we are fortunate to have a choice of pubs- just a short drive away, all serving fantastic food. Campsea Ashe has a recommended auction house, and local market on Monday mornings. The market towns of Framlingham and Woodbridge with nearby Sutton Hoo are also easily accessible and provide a wide range of shopping and leisure facilities. The Suffolk Heritage Coast is just a short drive away, and Snape, Aldeburgh, and Orford are all within easy reach.
  • Stylish and cosy cottage. Very clean and comfy and despite the lack of kitchen, a very enjoyable stay! Within 10 minutes of many pubs and other towns and the coffee machine was a nice touch. Would stay again :)

  • It’s a lovely peaceful location, v comfortable room and beautiful garden setting.

  • Priscilla and Ricardo are wonderfully warm and thoughtful hosts who took great care to ensure we were comfortable during our stay in their lovely garden annexe. The annexe itself is set in their beautiful garden with a light and airy conservatory that looks over a stunning landscape - keen birdspotters be aware, you will LOVE it here. It was spotlessly clean, full of thoughtful decorative touches relevant to Suffolk and really cosy. You’ll have everything you need in this Airbnb including a delicious breakfast in the morning cooked fresh and delivered to your conservatory, prepare to feel spoiled! I want to also mention that my fiancé and I got engaged the weekend we stayed and Priscilla & Ricardo went the extra mile to make it that little bit more special. They both are model Airbnb hosts and we certainly will be returning in the future!

  • Priscilla and Ricardo will give you a warm welcome to their beautiful annexe, where you will find all you need for a pleasant stay and exploration of the area. Breakfast is great too with a peaceful view of the garden and scenery beyond. We couldn’t fault it .

    Marina2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Priscilla's place is like a little oasis. Priscilla and Ricardo provide a beautiful breakfast to enjoy in your own conservator while enjoying the beautiful views and birdsong. They are fantastic hosts and went beyond the call of duty to make sure we had everything we needed.

  • This is one of the best Airbnbs we have stayed at. Priscilla and Ricardo are friendly and thoughtful hosts who want the guests to enjoy this day as much as possible. The room is comfortable, private and spotlessly clean. We also enjoyed eating the breakfast which Ricardo brought to the door of our conservatory each morning. Highly recommended.

  • We've just got back after a long weekend away, and could not recommended this little spot enough! We were looking for a quiet break away from normal everyday life, and Moi's place was just perfect! The accomodation was beautifully clean and felt really homely, we bought our little dog whos a rescue and isn't a fan of loud noises, so this location was perfect! We also thought it was such a lovely touch for her to provide milk and bread- it just felt like it was more than just staying in someone's rented out accomodation. Would definitely love to come back!

  • A peaceful haven close to many Suffolk "treasures", warm & comfortable with added touches, like fresh bread & milk to accompany the range of breakfast cereals, tea & coffee on the shelf

Appletree Cottage is a luxuriously renovated Grade II listed thatched cottage in tranquil rural Suffolk. It's a wonderful holiday base throughout the year for families, friends or couples, with local attractions including the coastal towns of Aldeburgh, Southwold, Thorpeness & Orford, countryside in a Outstanding Area of Natural Beauty, culture, days at the beach, sailing, horse-riding, clay-pigeon shooting, fishing, birdwatching, relaxing!
Apple Tree Cottage is a 17th Century oak timber-framed thatched cottage in a small Suffolk village on the edge of a country estate, brimming with historic charm but with the comfort of all mod cons. Comfortably accommodates 6 in the three bedrooms plus extra guests on two downstairs double sofabeds. If a relaxing haven is what you're after look no further! Originally two cottages, now joined together forming one home, there are beautiful traditional oak timber frames and beams, the original Suffolk brick floors and open Inglenook fire places. The cottage is arranged over two floors.  The ground floor has an open plan sitting and dining area with comfortable sofa and chairs piled with cushions and throws, a cosy woodburner, rugs on the floor, and a farmhouse style dining table which can accommodate up to 8 people.  The kitchen opens off this area and is well-equipped with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and oven, Nespresso coffee machine (coffee provided) and all the crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment you would expect to use. There is a further separate sitting room with large corner sofa which can open up into a double sofabed sleeping two.  This room also has an open Inglenook fireplace and is home to the TV with DVD/CD player, AppleTV and surround sound system.  We have a selection of DVDs, books and games for you to enjoy. The spacious main bathroom is on the ground floor and contains a walk in shower, freestanding double-ended bateau style bath with handheld shower, basin and laundry cupboard housing a washer/dryer, iron & ironing board.  Here, should you wish you can dim the lights, fill the bath with bubbles and steaming hot water and gaze out onto the garden during a long relaxing soak! Upstairs, two double bedrooms are accessed by the main, original wooden staircase.  Both lead off a small landing area; the master bedroom has a high vaulted ceiling with original oak beams, a kingsize bed and small ensuite bathroom with loo and basin, the other with a double bed and more oak beams. The twin single bedroom can be accessed either through the double bedroom or via it’s own separate staircase. All bedrooms have comfortable beds & mattresses, high quality pure cotton bedlinen, cream carpets and windows with views overlooking the garden and open countryside. You can even reach out of the master bedroom window to pick an apple directly from one of the apple trees at the right time of year! The cottage has wifi with broadband connection and Bang & Olufsen wireless music player, compatible with apple or Android devices.  There is a selection of board games, cards and children's toys etc... for your use. The garden is secluded and quiet. It is a typical English cottage style garden with different areas to use and enjoy; whether it be eating lunch or dinner at the outside table under the shade of the apple trees, enjoying breakfast on the patio just outside the house, relaxing on a sunlounger, playing a game of table tennis, swinging in the hammock, reading a book on the bench under a tree or enjoying a glass of wine in the summerhouse watching the birds. There is a charcoal BBQ for your use - please remember to use a safe distance from the house and thatched roof! And plenty of garden games; full size outdoor table tennis table, croquet, boules, cricket, badminton etc... For children there’s a trampoline, wooden tree swing and rope tree ladder to play on. At the right time of year the apples will be in plentiful supply on the trees. Please help yourselves - they make wonderful crumbles, pies and chutneys. There is parking for two cars on the gravel under the trees. If you have visitors and need extra parking you can also park a car on the grass under the apple tree. Train station with link to London via Ipswich and big supermarkets Waitrose and Tesco are 1 mile away in Saxmundham.
The cottage is a wonderful place hole up and relax and simply enjoy the gorgeous country setting, but we are also no more than a 20 minute drive from all the attractions of the local area including beaches at Southwold, Aldeburgh and Walberswick, Framlingham Castle, Orford Castle, Minsmere RSPB reserve, Dunwich Heath and forest, Rendlesham forest, Woodbridge, Sutton Hoo National Trust Viking site. Some of our favourite activities are going to beach at Walberswick where our children like to play in the sandy dunes and spend hours catching crabs in the creek; horseriding over to Iken bay, fish & chips eaten on the beach form the famous Aldeburgh shop, boating on the Meare lake at Thorpeness or simply roasting marshmallows on an open fire at home... This area is a foodie haven, with delicious local produce, farmers shops and markets, artisan bakery, Orford Smokehouse and great eateries. Golf courses, horseriding, sailing, tennis, fishing & clay-pigeon shooting are all on the doorstep. There are numerous antique centres and vintage markets to browse and of course the internationally renowned Aldeburgh Music concert hall at Snape Maltings is just 1 mile away.
  • We loved our stay at Apple Tree Cottage! It has everything you need for a relaxing stay and the wood burning stove made it very cosy.

Family and dog friendly, self-catering accommodation in listed farmhouse. Set in the beautiful Alde Valley, within easy reach of the Suffolk Heritage Coast. * Coronavirus * We appreciate you may not be able to or want to go far from home but we are very much open for guests in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. We would like you to know that we are taking extra care with cleans between guests and for this reason we are extending the check in time to 5pm.
White House Farm is an early 17th century listed farmhouse, partly remodelled in the late 18th century. It retains lots of original features and character, and sits within beautiful countryside with views across water meadows and woodlands. The guest accommodation is the front part of the farmhouse. We live in the back. The accomodation is completely self contained with its own front door and separate amenities. It has a well equiped kitchen with a large dining table and 6 chairs; sitting room with 2 sofas, a desk, and a woodburner; bathroom with bath and overhead shower; master bedroom with king size bed and a fabulous view over the water meadows; cosy twin bedroom. We can provide a high chair and travel cot. The stairs are winding and a bit steep, so may not be ideal for those with limited mobility. But we do provide stair gates, top and bottom, to keep our young guests safe. There's a good sized garden for our guest's own use, with uninterrupted views across the adjoining meadow.
The countryside around White House Farm is beautiful with plenty of good walks to be had without getting in the car. We're on the edge of Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Aldeburgh, on the coast, is 20 minutes drive, and other coastal villages & towns; Dunwich, Thorpeness , Walberswick & Southwold also within easy reach. Snape Maltings, home of The Aldeburgh Festival, is 15 minutes drive. With concerts and events, shops, cafes, galleries and walks. Our award winning local pub, The Sweffling White Horse, is quite unique and well worth the 20 minute stroll. It's only open Fri, Sat, Sun & Mon evenings and Sun lunchtime, and doesn't serve full meals. But it does do fantastic pies (heated up in the wood-burning range in the bar) and other "snacks" to soak up the local real ales. Our other local, The Glemham Crown (2 miles), is more conventional and serves good food most nights. The nearby market town Framlingham (5 miles), has several good cafes, pubs & restaurants, and market on Saturday & Tuesday, as well as its famous Castle. Saxmundham (4 miles) has a Waitrose, Tesco and a market on Wednesday.
  • The house was even more beautiful than the picture with extra special touches of a ready to light log fire and beautiful fresh flowers. A total delight with everything you could ever want

    Katherine2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely, warm, peaceful and relaxing place to stay. First class accommodation in a beautiful part of Suffolk. Good walking from the door and lots of places to visit within a short distance. Very highly recommended.

    Nigel2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulously relaxing weekend at White House Farm. The peace and charm of the place is evident as you arrive, and everything is spotlessly clean and prepared with real care. We all slept so well in the very comfortable beds, in the quiet of Sweffling, and it was a delight to wake to the views of the countryside in the morning. Returning from a day at the coast in nearby Aldeburgh, we lit the fire (which was already prepared for us) and spent a cosy evening in the tastefully decorated lounge. Anna and Craig are attentive hosts, recommending some great local places to eat, and I’d highly recommend White House Farm as a wonderful place to stay.

    Sarah2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Would definitely stay again, super comfy beds, wonderfully clean and lots of small details that helped entertain the kids. Thank you!

  • Great place exceptional value

    Paul2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • stunning little house in the middle of an idyllic quiet landscape! In the morning you are awakened by the crowing rooster, the sun shines in the romantic bedroom. The living room with fireplace is particularly cozy. The kitchen is well equipped and everything really looks like the photos. The host lives next door, but unfortunately we didn't find him and heard nothing from him. The beach is about 15 minutes by car. Perfect accommodation for a quiet weekend or a vacation in the country. Gladly again!!!!

    Thomas2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house in a lovely area. It is quiet and very relaxing. The house has large rooms but it was really cosy! We had a long weekend, exploring the area by day and cosied up at night. One of the reasons we chose the house was for the log burner but even on a chilly February weekend it was too warm to light it! The hosts were lovely. They live on site but were really respectful of our space. The beds were really comfortable and the kitchen extremely well equipped. We wanted for nothing (except a slotted spoon for our poached eggs) :-) We would definitely recommend a stay here. The only down side was the stairs. They are very steep. There are stair gates and we did use them, top and bottom. Other than this it was perfect and everything was very clean. Oh, and there was a hairdryer. I wasn’t expecting one! Thank you for a lovely stay Anna. We will definitely be back! Jen & Andy

  • We stayed three nights with our 13 month baby and would really recommend it for families. Lots of really thoughtful touches for little ones like fun bath toys. A cosy and compact room for one/two people. Adults only - no children or pets. Ideally situated for Sutton Hoo, Woodbridge, Snape, Aldeburgh, Framlingham, Dunwich etc. Off the beaten track but with easy access to A12. The room is self -contained and fully furnished with linen and towels. Kitchen with microwave, fridge and oven & table. Bathroom with overhead shower. Bedroom with sofa & desk. Own entrance and patio area. There is a second annexe 'The Garden Room' available also for bookings.
If you are wishing to explore this part of Suffolk for a few days - or perhaps are working in the area - Brick Kiln Annexe is the perfect little 'getaway'. Bigger than an hotel room, and with the facility to 'look after yourself' - it is private and cosy. Whilst the main house where I live is close, and therefore I can help you with any query you may have, I very much respect your privacy and you can come and go as freely as you wish, (obviously within reasonable hours). I also welcome long term/regular stays. Please ask for special rates
Campsea Ashe is a small village that boasts its own pub 'The Dog and Duck', and a well stocked village shop. You can walk to these across the fields if you wish. There is also a railway station in Campsea Ashe - confusingly named Wickham Market - where trains run on the hour to London, changing at Ipswich, and also North to Lowestoft. At the Station is a newly open Station House where breakfast and coffees are served. Closeby also is the famous FarmCafe with shop. Delicious food is served here and local products can be bought in the shop. There are many pubs in the local area - all with very good reputation for their food. Wickham Market is the nearest small town, 1 mile, and here the CoOp opens until 9pm. There is a Chinese takeaway and restaurant, Indian takeaway and restaurant and fish and chips. Also the butcher Revetts - famous for their sausages. There are a couple of gift shops, a post office and a chemist. The doctors surgery is also here.
  • Great value for money and a lovely little space for 2. The bath was the deciding factor between some other places and me and my partner were overjoyed with our stay. Clean, stylish, well equipped and great host. Would definitely go again. Not a bad thing to say - expect the fact we had to cone home!

  • Wonderful stay at Tinas place . We arrived very late and got lost but Tina and her husband very patiently guided us . Beautiful peaceful place to stay and although in the country there is easy access to all the different routes to neighbouring towns . Highly recommend staying here . The plcace was spotless with lovely little touches .

    Marie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the annexe. It was so cosy and beautifully decorated. It was a shame we were only there for 1 night but a great, well-priced base for visiting Sutton Hoo and nearby areas. We’d definitely use it again if we came back up to the area. Lots of extra touches like tea, coffee, cereal, biscuits, milk and toiletries. Very homely. Thank you, Tina!

    Lucy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

'The Annexe at 21' is a private section of our home. It comprises bedroom, shower room and lobby space with fridge, tea & coffee making facilities, toaster, bread basket & preserves for breakfast. Tunstall is a sleepy village within an AONB but just 3 miles from the famous Snape Maltings & Concert Hall, 5 miles from Orford & 8 miles from Woodbridge. Aldeburgh, Thorpeness, Southwold & Framlingham are also a short distance by car. I look forward to welcoming you to our home.
Having stayed in many B & B's over the years, we have tried to provide what we would look for - hopefully it's what you look for too!
With a wealth of knowledge of the local area, we are happy to assist with places to visit, pubs, restaurants etc that are off the beaten track. Lots of footpaths and cycling routes around the area including Tunstall forest.
  • Karen’s place is great, very clean and comfortable, good breakfast, quiet location, everything you need for a peaceful break in this lovely part of Suffolk.

    Caroline2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great convenient location!

    Pam2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Although we we were rather later than intended (flooding had closed a section of the A1), Karen made us welcome. The accommodation is attached to, but separate from the house, with its own entrance at the side. This meant that we did not disturb Karen when we left or came back in the evening. It was always warm, without being overpowering; I would recommend bringing a pair of slippers for the tiled floor in the bathroom and utility area. The bed was comfortable and had, for us, the right amount of covering. There were a number of friendly, domestic touches, such as the photographs of family, the drawings and paintings of ships and of North Wales on the walls, and the books and maps in the bookcase. You have your own bathroom and really good-quality towels. There are no street lights in Tunstall which means it is dark at night. Karen provided a torch and reminded us to put the outside light on if we were coming back late. Finding Karen’s from Wickham Market direction you have to remember that hers is the second turning on the right, just before the right-hand bend.

    John2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely host and a great communicator. Will definitely stay if in that area again. Highly recommend this place. Thanks Karen!

    Shepherd2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Karens place is perfect for a visit to Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh. Everything very thoughtfully provided, including a cup of tea when we arrived and all we needed for a simple breakfast. Very peaceful and private with our own entrance. We had a great sleep! Would happily stay again!

    Jemima2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Usefully located just between Orford and Aldeburgh and at a very reasonable price for what you get - much better value than in either of those towns themselves which tend to come bit pricey! - Very friendly and hospitable.

Located on a hill top with stunning views, and on the edge of the peaceful village of Sweffling, the towns of Framlingham and Saxmundham are within easy reach. Slightly further afield are the seaside resorts of Aldeburgh and Southwold. Comfortable and cosy accommodation with one bedroom (king size bed), en-suite shower room and combined kitchen/living space.
Originally two stables which housed the farms' working horses and more recently home to dairy cattle (hence the name), these have now been converted into a self contained holiday home. The location is within easy reach of many Suffolk attractions including Minsmere bird reserve, Snape Maltings, Framlingham castle, Dunwich (once a city, but mostly washed away by the sea), and Orford Ness. Whilst self catering facilities are included, the area offers many restaurants, tearooms and pubs some of which are within walking distance (1 to 1.5 miles).

  • We were looking for a little weekend escape away from the hustle and bustle, we found that, and more at Daisy’s. David and Zoë were excellent hosts, good communicators who are there if you need them. The apartment is a good size, plenty of room for a couple and kitted out for everything you need for a cosy hideaway.

The kitchen was well equipped and small touches made the stay great. Very clean and homely. Good for a quiet getaway in the countryside!

  • Very happy here - loads of space, clean, in great location. Very basic, no frills. Loved the wood burner in the evenings. Good for my wife who is disabled with bad vision and mobility - all very accessible. The managing agents were very helpful when we requested a bigger TV and a side lamp - and sorted it out within 24 hours.

The Snug is beautifully converted studio, attached to the farmhouse but totally self-contained. Situated in the rural idyll of the Alde River valley in coastal Suffolk, it is handily located for the RSPB nature reserve at Minsmere and the coastal attractions of Aldeburgh and Southwold, the concerts at Snape Maltings, and Framlingham castle. Located on a small family farm of 40 acres, there are plenty of dog walking opportunities on local footpaths, surrounded by horses, cattle and ducks.
The Studio has its own off-round parking in a gated, shared drive way and consists of one king sized bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette.
The Snug is literally walking distance from an award winning Sweffling White Horse real ale pub voted the East Anglia Camra Pub of the Year, and the more traditional fooderies of the Rendham White Horse and the village shop and cafe at Juniper barn. It is a 3 minute drive/10 minute walk to Bruisyard Hall for wedding/business events.
  • Cosy, well equipped and to a high standard. a fabulous place and location to stay. quite a few options locally to explore and pretty good location for them all. Nicola was a great host with nice touches and good local advice. great stay - thanks.

  • The snug is a lovely place to stay, it’s just perfect!

    Natalie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place. Was so much better than I expected for the price... it’s 5* accommodation at a 3* price. Photos don’t do it justice at all. Will definitely go back if we’re in Suffolk again. It’s very spacious, great location and really good if you have a dog, she was very happy and settled there

    Amy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect little spot - lovely and quiet but easy to get out and about. It was a great place to stay.

    Megan2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nicola was an amazing host, The Snug was even better than we had hoped and it was peaceful even in the high winds!! It was extremely homely and absolutely spotless, and bigger than the photos suggest. Can’t wait to visit again and couldn’t fault a thing. We loved it (and The White Horse pub up the road is a must!).

    Amy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Snug was far bigger than it appeared in the pictures. It was clean, spacious and lovely and warm. Even with the strong winds it was still really quiet and peaceful. Nicola was really lovely and helpful. She had provided everything we needed. I’d highly recommend staying here.

    Dominic2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nicola was a great host and the snug has everything you need to have a cosy and relaxing weekend away!

  • We were very please with our recent stay at the Snug. It’s in a beautiful setting, really well designed space...just right for two. All the mod cons and fully equipped. It was easy to find, the information provided was really helpful and welcome cake was a great extra. I’d happy recommend booking this accommodation.

  • We really enjoyed our weekend here. It’s extremely easy to find, and well placed for local attractions. Lots of farm shops selling local produce within a short distance. Plenty of space for parking. It was very clean on arrival, and the hosts were super helpful. Literally opposite the cottage is a proper pub with good food and nice staff. We were sad to leave!

    Conrad2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amy's place is great. It is very big with lots of room for a larger group than us. It was super clean and warm and we were very pleased with it. The pub across the road is very convenient and their homemade pies were great!

    Claire2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely warm welcome from Amy at Carlton cottage. The house is really big and though we were only 4 this would also be great for a larger group. It is really well located for Southwold, Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings, which we visited with little time spent on the road. The beds are super comfy and the showers were top notch too. Add to that a smashing dining room with a big wooden table fit for a banquet, an expansive garden and ample parking and you can't go far wrong with this accommodation. Although the property is directly on the busy A12 the pros of the house more than make up for this. Thanks so much Amy, we would have loved to stay a bit longer.

    Daniel2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great host. Thanks so much!

    Scott2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We were lucky to be Amy’s first ever guests on Airbnb. The house is fantastic and will really suit a large family gathering with loads of places for outings and walks nearby. The pub opposite is a bonus too. Amy is a very friendly and accommodating host. The house itself is a large family home, but the hosts do not live there so it is it’s own thing, dedicated to Airbnb. If you are staying in one room there may be others staying in other rooms and sharing the communal spaces , like kitchen, dining room, bathrooms, lounge and garden, though I think Amy plans on offering a listing that allows you to book out the whole house.

Located near the Heritage Coast in Suffolk, there are wonderful towns and villages to visit. A bit further a field is the coastal town of Aldeburgh and Thorpeness where fish and chips on the beach is a must!
  • We had a perfect stay in the pod, the hot tub was lovely as well as the pod itself. We managed to light the hot tub a couple of times a day and really got the most out of it, through rain and shine! We enjoyed going for local walks and had a lovely dinner nearby at The Unruly Pig. Would definitely recommend the bluebell pod and will be back I’m sure

The Nissen hut - garden studio. Bright, cosy, contemporary studio with breakfast included, great for a romantic weekend or for a small family. Surrounded by lovely walks, forests, windy lanes, beautiful beaches; 15 minutes to Snape Maltings, 20 minutes to Aldeburgh, Thorpeness and the coast. 5 minutes to Wickham Market train station, 10 mins to Woodbridge.
A Nissen hut is a prefabricated steel structure, made from a half-cylindrical skin of corrugated steel. Originally designed during World War I by engineer and inventor Major Peter Norman Nissen, it was used extensively during World War II. We renovated the hut as sensitively as possible using reclaimed and recycled materials where we could and adding underfloor heating, a reclaimed cast iron bath and a modern kitchen.
Hacheston has a playground and a farm shop and Easton has a lovely farm park, which is 10 mins drive. The Greyhound in Pettistree, 5 mins in the car, a 45 min walk or 20 min cycle has excellent food and beer. Framlingham is 5 mins away with its lovely pubs restaurants and 12th century castle.
  • Lovely space, great hosts and beautiful local area. Would highly recommend!

    Joe2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay. It was a pretty cold, wintery weekend but the hut was warm and cozy. The hut comes with everything you could need for a short stay .

    Jamie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best weekend staying here, it's such a beautifully finished space with very thoughtful touches. Cat and Ned are were great hosts; made us feel very welcome, gave us complete privacy but in hand if anything was needed. Couldn't recommend the hut more.

    Pamela2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a good time in the Nissen Hut - it was really lovely. From the moment we walked in, everything felt so comfortable and inviting from the underfloor heating to the well-stocked kitchen (with local eggs and sourdough left by Cat and Ned) and of course the INCREDIBLE bath. The bed was super comfy and the location is great - we visited Sutton Hoo but wish we'd had longer to visit the coast, as well as spend more time lounging around. We'd happily go back.

    Nancy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space in a lovely village near to lots of great spots in Suffolk. Cat and Ned were great hosts and were super flexible with our arrival / departure. The Nissen hut is really relaxing, and has everything you need and more- it gave us the perfect weekend break!

    Charlotte2020-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Inside an old Nissen hut Cat and Ned have created a large open plan space. It is warm and comfortable with all the facilities you need for a stay in this little-known part of Suffolk.

  • Linda is great at communicating, giving great instruction to find the house. On arrival she made us feel very welcome. The space provided for guests is very private, quiet and perfect for 2. We had a very comfortable stay. The Lion Inn, which is just a minute walk away, has great food and very friendly staff. The continental breakfast is also a real treat. Really a wonderful place to go, would highly recommend.

  • Linda and Geoff were absolute legends during our one night stay in their lovely annexe. It was completely private. They also helped us get to the wedding venue after our vehicle broke down. Lovely people, great hospitality, and the accommodation was incredible reasonable.

  • A lovely space for our short break. Beautifully clean, well furnished and private. Having an extra area to sit for breakfast, which was provided, was very good. We were made very welcome.

  • Linda's home is very cosy, and Linda has good communication with you if needed. The room has a beautiful view😍🐎🌳, on suite shower/toilet and has your own entrance. the owner stays on the other side of the house so you feel less intruding into they home. The breakfast included cereals, yogurt, fruit, brioche buns and tea or coffee. And all breakfast is layout already so if you are hungry at night and no stores around you at least have something to eat🤤. if you fancy hot breakfast there is a farm cafe 2 mins away and is very good all local sourced food🍞🍳. Would suggest Linda's home for stay, and i would defo stay again with them. 👸🏻✌

  • I stayed in Caxton Studio for 2 nights whilst in the area on a work trip. I found it very comfortable and everything I needed for my stay was there. There is an off-road parking space right outside the flat which was great. The shower is very good! The host gave me a warm welcome and left fresh milk in the fridge for my arrival which is always nice. The area is very quiet, I had no problems getting to sleep. Great for a solo traveller looking for somewhere affordable to stay near the Suffolk coast.

  • Steff and her husband are a friendly and welcoming couple. Nothing was too much trouble. We both had a very pleasant stay. The accommodation is cosy, although it was nice we were given a fan as did get very warm. I would imagine it must be very toasty in the winter. The beds are very comfy and we would definitely visit again if we are in that vicinity.

Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and families.

Architect designed barn in peaceful, rural setting with wonderful views, surrounded by open fields; cosy wood burner & Wifi - a perfect self-contained retreat for couples & friends. Really popular with walkers, artists, musicians, birdwatchers & nature lovers - there's even a telescope in your bedroom. Four-legged friends will love the walks to the river & nearby Tunstall forest, while music-lovers can enjoy the famous Aldeburgh Festival and Snape Maltings’ famous concert hall only a mile away.
The barn has its own entrance opening into a light and spacious open plan living area with kitchen and bathroom downstairs. There are large sliding French windows which open onto a private part-walled patio - a lovely place to have breakfast in the warmer months or a drink in the evening. As well as two sofas, Ercol dining table and chairs, there is a well equipped kitchen, with ample worktop space, complete with all modern appliances, including a fan Neff oven and hob, a dishwasher and microwave, a fridge with freezer box, Dualit kettle and toaster and a Nespresso coffee machine. For entertainment, there is a TV and DVD player, plenty of books & DVDs, and a Pure Contour music station with CD player, iPod dock and DAB radio. The barn is really warm and cosy at all times of the year, being super well-insulated with controllable heating and a wonderful wood burning stove - initial supply of logs provided. The main bedroom is very large and light, with a Kingsize bed, plenty of storage and a writing table. Wide French windows with a Juliet balcony are perfect for bird-watching - feel free to use the telescope. There are spectacular views over the fields towards Snape Maltings and the marshes. Egyptian cotton bed linen and comfortable beds will ensure a good night's sleep, and no light pollution means it's perfect for star gazers. The only noises you might hear at night are barn owls and nightingales. Amazing, panoramic views over the surrounding fields towards RSPB reserves on the River Alde marshes. Conveniently there is a cloakroom with loo and washbasin upstairs too (technically not en suite, but adjacent!) The main bathroom is downstairs, and all towels are provided. In the large second bedroom / study, there is a single bed but plenty of space for an additional cot/truckle bed with mattress by prior arrangement. This room also has an additional TV, with two comfy armchairs perfect for reading. The walls are lined with a vast range of books, making this place a popular choice with readers, writers, or musicians wanting to practise before a concert. Wifi is provided free of charge, but guests are reminded that living in the sticks means that broadband speeds are not always what they're supposed to be, but good enough for Netflix.
Stunning countryside, yet close to the coast and local attractions, both cultural & gourmet: Snape Maltings Concert hall & shops, and 3 pubs all within walking distance. Nearest shops : Snape Maltings (1 mile) - good coffee, restaurants & delicatessen including Pump Street Bakery. Friday Street Farm Shop - brilliant butcher and fishmonger, PYO fruit & veg. • Helens beautiful barn is the perfect place to get away from everything for a few days. The accommodation was lovely (and the bed is possibly the comfiest we have ever slept in), immaculately clean and with everything you could possibly need for a long weekend. Thank you!

    Jake2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • I could write a small book on Helens barn but that would be long and boring. Suffice to say this was simply the best experience we have ever had using air bnb. Helens barn is just spot on, spotlessly clean with every single thing you could want. Her communication is on point and polite. There is not one single negative to draw from staying at the barn it is PERFECT. We will be back for another stay later in the year. Thankyou Helen, your barn and your hospitality are simply perfect.

    Rupert2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

There are 2 heaters , which as the weather was not too good were really useful. There is plenty of information on the area. Magazines and paperbacks are also to be found.

  • Our stay at Rosie's studio was great above expectations. Starting with warm and friendly welcome through all the tips she gave us and her willingness (even before arriving) to her care about us and our contentment. I have to say, me and my friend Viky felt like being on holiday at our family member's house. The studio is cosy, well furnished, clean and located very well. If we ever come back to Framlingham, this is the place we're going to stay. We would definitely recommend.

    Michaela2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Rosie is a kind and generous host, very welcoming and with good communication. The apartment is in a great location, and it was great to be able to sit outside on the decking each evening to enjoy the summer sun!

  • A great location for touring the Suffolk coastline, marsh and heath lands. We loved being able to get out and bird watch in peaceful surroundings. The countryside was at its best in the Autumn colours and sunshine. We particularly liked to come back to the property and relax in a hot bath and then lie in a very comfortable bed......brill!

  • This is a really lovely space, overlooking a wildlife pond from a vantage point on top of a workshop in a sturdy wooden building. Very quiet rural setting with only faint traffic noise from the nearby A12 - tranquility combined with accessibility. A gentle awakening each morning from a cockerel crowing and the occasional horse whinny and donkey bray. Access is via an outside wooden staircase which would not suit those with reduced mobility. Edward and Sabina were welcoming hosts both in person and through the excellent and informative material left in the room.

All the old world appeal of a traditional English country cottage has been retained at Brookside, including the wood burning stove and original beams; with the addition of modern appliances in the kitchen, and a pretty modern bathroom. Interiors are tastefully furnished from the welcoming kitchen/dining room and cosy living room on the ground floor, to the two good sized bedrooms with wonderfully wonky walls and floors oozing character upstairs. Whether for a short break or full week, you'll enjoy exploring the Suffolk coast and interesting market towns and, when you're ready for some quiet time, you can retreat to the cottage garden.
The garden path takes you to the door opening into the welcoming and generous sized kitchen/breakfast room which has an excellent mix of old charm and modern appliances and utensils for you to enjoy dining at home, with a cosy living room and warming wood burner to retire to! Old-world charisma and character continues to the first floor with pretty furnishings in both bedrooms and a lovely country style bathroom with corner shower cubicle as well as the large bath. This semi-detached cottage sits well back from the road with a path running along the front lawn and flower beds to the kitchen door, continuing to the large garden at the back, bordered by fields, where you enjoy meals in the fresh air at the outdoor furniture. There's an off road parking space and additional parking on the street outside the cottage; plus an outhouse where you can store a bike.
This charming mid-terraced Suffolk holiday cottage sits in the little village of Kelsale, within easy reach of the beautiful Suffolk Coast making it an ideal location from which to explore picturesque seaside towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold, East Suffolk's villages and market towns, or simply relax and enjoy long walks or bike rides from the front door. Brookside sits in the heart of the village just over the brook, close to a children's playground and park Kelsale, a pretty village in the east of Suffolk, is approximately a mile north of Saxmundham town centre with a range of independent shops, Waitrose, The Bell Hotel serving good food, and a number of cafes. There are also lots of excellent country pubs to choose from within a short drive, the Poachers Pocket within walking distance and Mirabelle is conveniently close to the larger towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh, so an ideal base for exploration the county.

With hand-painted furniture throughout and finished to a high quality. A well appointed bathroom has a bath with a shower W.C. and hand basin. The bedroom has a king-size bed and views aross the Snape countryside. A perfect bolt-hole for two.
Snape is one of east Suffolk's most sought after villages, famous for the Maltings, which have been developed into the home of the Aldeburgh Festival and are now the host for a renowned calendar of music events, but also surrounding the concert hall are many boutique shops – and there are many beautiful walks along the River Alde and a pub, the Plough and Sail to visit. The village of Snape has two excellent pubs, The Golden Key and Crown, both within walking distance of the cottage, and there is also the famous Sailors Path, a wonderful 4 mile walk towards Aldeburgh – highly recommended. Aldeburgh and Orford are both a short drive away and offer a wide range of excellent restaurants and cultural attractions, which in the case of Aldeburgh includes golf, sailing and arts festivals and with Orford Ruth Watson's excellent Crown and Castle, the Butley Oysterage and Orford Ness are all well worth visiting.
