  • This little gem is absolutely somewhere you will want to return too. A lovely spot on the Thames. For us it was one night snuggled down in front of the log burner. A time to reconnect and remember those things that are important in a life. Esther and Tobie are great hosts... I cannot recommend them highly enough 💕

  • A great experience of life on the river aboard a very stylish boat!

    Anna2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful hide away to enjoy some peace. The boat is stylish and well maintained. The wood burner creates a warm and cosy atmosphere, we recommend it as a unique get away.

  • Absolute comfort in a beautiful setting! Can’t recommend this place enough, great experience, easy check-in and excellent amenities! Thanks Tobie and Esther for an amazing stay!!

    Joe2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Esther and Tobie's place is lovely! Exactly like the pictures and really cosy. They gave great tips for the boat and the local area which made the stay all the more enjoyable.

  • Lovely, welcoming, well thought out, private little getaway. A sweet place to just get away from normal day to day life. Esther communicated everything very clearly before we checked in and they provided all the "little things" you would need like tea, oil, loo roll, towels, cooking equipment. A perfect little haven for a couple.

Our Shepherds Hut nestles into it's own space just next to the house, it has an ensuite shower etc, double bed and gorgeous west facing country views. Only a five minute walk from the centre of the village it is a haven of peace and tranquility. Please note we have a 2 night minimum stay for single occupancy.
The Shepherds hut is equipped with everything you need to make your stay great, There is a fully stocked hospitality tray with a range of teas, coffees and fresh milk and home made biscuits. The shower has been praised as "the best this holiday" In the morning come over to the conservatory to enjoy a delicious breakfast, freshly squeezed orange juice, cereals, fresh fruit and yogurt. To follow, a choice of the full English breakfast, including our own hen's eggs cooked however you like them and toasted home made bread. The hut is really well insulated with sheep's wool keeping it cool in summer and warm in winter, however you are welcome to fire up the wood burning stove if you wanted it a bit warmer. There is no TV but free fast WiFi in the Shepherds hut and the conservatory.
Brightwell cum Sotwell is probably one of the most attractive villages in the area, the main road by passes the village so there is not a lot of traffic, it is a lovely place to wander around on a pleasant evening as there is such a range of lovely houses and gardens to admire. The traditional, thatched village pub is a great place to stop off, the food and beer are both great. The villagers are very friendly and there is a lot going on. Most weekends there is some event be it a village quiz, talent show, summer fete, and we have a live music festival once a year, Many of our guests have enjoyed one of these events and have loved feeling like a 'local'.
  • Su h a lovely stay in the Shepherd's Hut. Sue and Bob were lovely and put on a fab breakfast. A spot of serenity away from the hubbub

    Lauren Ashling2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Bob and Sue were SUCH lovely hosts. We can’t say enough about the beautiful gardens, amazing breakfast, and cute hut. Would highly recommend!

    Laura2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • This “hut” is far better appointed than most shepherds would ever dream of. Space is necessarily limited, but we found it very comfortable, especially in conjunction with the open walled sitting “room” just behind. It is an extremely tranquil location, and the hut is well removed from the owners’ house. It is set within a beautiful wild flower garden, looking directly over a field fringed with woodland. The owners are very hospitable, striking just the right balance between being friendly and leaving guests to their own devices. The homemade breakfasts are exceptional. The shower and the electric heater (we didn’t try the wood burning stove in May) are both good; the bed is very comfortable and there is good quality linen. Be aware that the curtains are rather thin, though the owners helpfully provide eye masks.

    Roger2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sue was awesome! Id recommend her place and this village to anyone. Great breakfast. Amazing location. Her garden is gorgeous.

    Marisa2019-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • The hut and views far exceeded our expectations. The hut is a serene and beautifully compact space - and the log burner in action was amazing. (I'd recommend you don't put too much wood in.) The hospitality was fantastic - Sue and Bob were incredibly welcoming while allowing us to completely enjoy this little slice of heaven as if it were own. My daughter, (aged 6) was blown away by the wildlife - none more so than the live footage of the blue tit chicks being fed by their busy parents.

    Susan2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had an idyllic weekend relaxing in the Shepherds hut. As soon as we arrived we fell in love with the beautiful surroundings and cosy Shepherds hut, which was equipped with everything that we needed. Breakfast was delicious, especially whilst watching the deer skip through the fields opposite. A completly faultless accommodation. Thank you for having us Sue.

    Tom2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Totally faultless experience. Best Airbnb we’ve ever experienced. Such a relaxing way to spend a few days in a unique setting. The breakfast each morning is such a fantastic touch. And sitting outside each evening admiring the view was spectacular. Definitely recommend. Thanks so much for having us

    Vanessa2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • The Shepard’s hut is quaint but modern. Dreamy but practical (fantastic shower!) Extremely warm (I visited in March) and it is the extra special touches that Endear you to this property. I was a solo traveller and felt extremely safe. Sit in bed and watch nature at its best! There is also a log burner that I didn’t need to use. I’m sure this is wonderful when up and running! I will definitely visit again.....

People who come to the cottage love it. It is rural but with access to OXFORD and other cities. The accommodation is spacious and the facilities good. We now have totally reliable Wi-Fi so everyone should be happy. The two single beds in the attic are air beds. People have found them comfortable.
Welcome to this spacious yet cosy cottage within the grounds of our family house. There's a large living room and kitchen area with a wood-burning stove which makes for a very comfortable atmosphere. You'll also enjoy a nice double bedroom as well as some loft space for children and teenagers. I now have two comfortable air beds. The loft is carpeted and it has basic furniture but is essentially a camping-style arrangement and would be unsuitable for toddlers. Having said that, young children have slept there recently with no problem. I can provide a travel cot for a baby if necessary. We have recently upgraded the wifi connection and it is now working perfectly. We live in a little village about 20 minutes' drive from Oxford. There is an hourly bus to Oxford from Stadhampton which is about a 20 minutes walk away. There are lots of walks and country pubs around, as well as some nice market towns like Wallingford and Abingdon. We're also very close to the Thames for river walks. If you have any questions or special arrangements, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help. The formal garden is off limits I am always at home at the beginning and end of a guest's stay and always contactable.
The cottage is within the grounds of our house but very private.
  • What a lovely space. So stylish and comfortable. The perfect weekend bolt hole in a stunning setting. 6 stars!!

  • We had a wonderful time, the kitchen/sitting room is cosy, the garden is glorious (and has a stream at the bottom) and the location, among fields and footpaths is ideal for walkers. We walked to the Thames and swam, and walked back via some lovely country pubs.

Sarah's home is located on the outskirts of the stunning village of Dorchester on Thames in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. Dorchester is famous for its Abbey which was originally founded in 635 AD and for it's picturesque houses and streets. It is used for filming Midsomer Murders and Agatha Christies Poirot and attracts tourists from around the world. It is a 15 minute walk into the village and it is also very easy to park in the centre of the village. We look across the meadows to the Wittenham Clumps, a famous local landmark. The local market town of Wallingford prides itself on it's variety of independent shops and bars/restaurants. The Ridgeway, another national trail is nearby and is also wonderful for walkers. Guides for both trails are kept in the lodge. There are many lovely country pubs which are listed on my guide and on the printed list kept in the lodge. Oxford, the oldest English speaking university in the world, is only 8 miles. Tour the various colleges, museums, botanical gardens and you cannot visit Oxford without having a go at punting. The Bear, Oxford's oldest pub oozes character. The space offers complimentary breakfast and the bed is incredibly comfortable. The location is great - near the Bear at Home pub, and less than 10min drive from Didcot Parkway train station. Victoria communicated well prior to and throughout our stay and was very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this place, and will hopefully return in future.

A bright, fun little house that’s also my home. I’m often away with work so will frequently welcome my guests with a key and my trusty black and white (furry) best friend - the cat! The house has a homely feel and is based on all my travels and adventures. Make yourself at home. I co host so one of us will also be available to answer a question even if we are away.
Main bedroom with king size bed. (Note wardrobes in room are not accessible but there’s a chest of drawers available and a coat hanger space behind back of the door. Single room with single bed. Kitchen with all amenities. plates, glasses, cups, cutlery, saucepans, frying pans the whole deal is available! You’ll even likely to find some cooking oil and spices. Dish washer, washing machine, tumble dryer. You’re welcome to use the washing machine but I don’t provide tablets etc so if necessary please bring your own. Garden with bbq available. Bathroom downstairs with single shower, toilet and sink. Bathroom is to be updated in summer 19. It’s of course clean and fresh but just a little outdated. Wc upstairs. Lounge & dining room. Large open space Big 50 inch tv with sky tv (sky sports included) free use of Netflix, and WiFi all available. There are two aquariums in my home which contain tropical fish. I will ask that when you book the house out or indeed a room ( if I’m not also staying) that you agree to feed my fish just a pinch of their food. It will be left for you on top of their tanks. My cat will also need feeding, instructions will be left in the property. He’s very friendly and affectionate and enjoys the company when I’m away. If this is a problem then i will be unable to confirm the booking because someone will need to access the property to feed my fish. The fish are all very pleasant to look at though so hopefully you’ll just see it as an added pleasure and they’ll be very grateful for their meals!! Both aquariums have filters and pumps attached which run the systems that keep my fish alive. These must never be turned off. All electrical equipment around the tanks must be left as you find it throughout your stay. Please leave my house as you find it. Clean and tidy with all dishes stacked in the dish washer. Please ensure all windows and doors are shut and locked before you leave. Please do not invite additional guests back to my property without my consent. If you use the bbq please clean after use. Many Thanks.
1.2 miles from train station Close to Tesco’s express and takeaway round the corner. House backs onto a close that leads to large expanse of fields and recreational playing fields. Located in a quiet, safe yet central part of Didcot.

There are three differing pubs within walking distance, one a bistro style, another quite traditional and a sports orientated pub. There are a number of take-aways, covering every cuisine. • Self check- in was a breeze, parking no problem. Although the space is compact, it's designed quite cleverly so you don't feel cramped. Super comfy bed, great shower. The slippers at the front door is a nice touch. The kitchen area even has (the smallest I've ever seen!) a dishwasher! Lovely outdoor area which would probably be great in summer. Thank you for the lovely one-night stay.

  • Zoë and Andy’s annexe is the perfect place to stay in Didcot. The place is really stylishly decorated and has everything you need. I even had the bonus of having sky sports to watch the football when I arrived on Saturday evening. Zoë and Andy were really great communicators and even helped iron my shirt for the wedding I attended in Oxfordshire. I would definitely recommend. 5 stars!

  • I loved my stay at the annexe. After a couple days of 'not so nice' places, this adorable, freshly renovated, super clean guest house was truly a breath of fresh air. I felt at home the moment I walked in and loved the thoughtful touches (Spa slippers! A makeup mirror/dressing table!) Such a well designed space and the bed was also super comfy. I hope to stay again when I return to Didcot. Thank you for a great stay!

This is a comfortable one bed annexe provided with off road parking (no trade vehicles Inc. caddy vans) located in the pretty village of East Hagbourne, just 10 minutes from Didcot station. It is a well furnished room with all the standards plus underfloor heating. It has a double bed, TV, wardrobe, table and chairs, shower, sink, towel rail and toilet etc. The Kitchen is a good size and fully equipped with oven, fridge, toaster, kettle, washing machine.
  • Chris and Mark are fantastic hosts, very warm and welcoming. We had a lovely stay at there place. The surroundings are very idyllic and picturesque. The fully equipped kitchen comes very handy for us. They have made sure to build the studio very eco-friendly. The floor heating is amazing and the first of its kind to be experienced by us. Even a short time of heating keeps the room very warm. The sound of birds and the natural stream in the backyard keeps you positive and motivated. We enjoyed the fieldside view when it gets sunny in the afternoon. It's a great location with supermarkets a few minutes drive away. I wish to visit there place again. Thank you for hosting us.

  • We had a lovely 2 night stay at Chris’s place - well equipped, comfortable, warm and very relaxing! Great location with supermarket a few minutes drive away and lovely walks straight from the door. There is no microwave (but oven and hot plates so plenty of cooking options) but just worth being aware of if your cooking skills are as limited as mine!! Overall fabulous stay, would definitely return if in the area again.

  • We stayed at Deborahs accommodation for the weekend when visiting family in Dorchester on Thames. As a family of 4 with 2 little boys we wanted a place to stay that was conveniently located and that was affordable. We bought a travel cot for our littlest and there was a single and double bed provided which suited us perfectly. The rooms were all sparkling clean and so nicely decorated and we found that absolutely everything we needed was provided. Deborah also kindly said it would fine to use the beautiful garden! It was perfect for us! The kitchen has everything you need to cook and so we took full advantage whilst we were there having a lovely breakfast. It is in such a beautiful location and convenient for oxford town centre where we went to the theatre in the evening. The children loved running around the large garden and playing on the swing and we felt very secure having a coded gate at the front entrance which was great. Deborah responded to all my questions so quickly and provided ideas for parks nearby and nearest food shops etc. It was also lovely that she came to say goodbye when we left. A lovely stay! Thank you so much

  • We had the loveliest stay - I can’t recommend the accommodation enough. There is lots of space, very comfortable and exceptionally clean. There was more than enough room for myself and my two daughters. The kitchen had everything we needed & Debbie was in touch straight away for any questions we had. The extra touches were lovely, such as the games and extras in the fridge. There were some great ideas for walks, which we did, and the area quiet is peaceful and absolutely stunning. Highly recommended!

    Emily2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place in a a beautiful location. We were really impressed with the accommodation, the amenities and cleanliness of everything. It was clear that Deborah cares a lot about her hosts and puts a lot of effort into making everything as enjoyable as possible. We stayed on a boiling hot weekend and Deborah was kind enough to lend us an electric fan which was a lovely touch. We’d love to stay again in the future and would recommend Deborah’s place to anyone visiting the area!

Hi welcome to my bright, fun little house that’s also my home. I’m often away with work so will frequently welcome my guests with a key and my trusty black and white (furry) best friend - the cat! The house has a homely feel and is based on all my travels and adventures. Make yourself at home. I co host so one of us will also be available to answer a question even if we are away.
Hi 1.2 miles from train station Close to Tesco’s express and takeaway round the corner. House backs onto a close that leads to large expanse of fields and recreational playing fields. Located in a quiet, safe yet central part of Didcot.

  • From the moment of booking until departure, Kieran really was all that you could wish for in a host. He was professional, extremely informative and responded to my questions quickly and thoroughly. The accommodation was far better than I had expected for the price; it was spotless, easily accessible and the amenities perfect. I was only there for a relatively short time but would have been just as comfortable over a longer stay. I was communicating the short distance to Harwell and will definitely be recommending this Airbnb to all my colleagues that work there periodically, along with family and friends. A massive ‘thank you’ from me, as I’ll definitely be staying again (a full 5* from me) 😊. David

  • Lovely place to stay. I spent 5 nights there. Sparkly clean and modern studio. Kieran very quick in responding messages. All perfect! Highly recommended 😀

  • The place is close to Didcot Parkway train station, about a 5-minute walk but the road to the place is uphill, so it might be slightly tiring to push luggages to the accommodation. The place is also close to Orchard Centre, where you can get groceries and have access to banks and some high street shops. The place is clean and tidy, and has a desk so it is suitable for a working professional. Kieran is really nice, communication is easy, and he tries his best to make sure you have a comfortable stay.

  • Kieran and family are fantastic hosts, they thought about all little detail to make this studio very comfortable and practical, for a short or long stay. The location is the best: this is a quiet street just a few minutes from shops, train station, bus, supermarket and town centre. There are bus lines going to Harwell Campus each 15 min during the day or 5 to 10 min in rush hours. I have lived in this studio for 6 weeks before finding my permanent home in Didcot. I definitely recommend to stay at Kieran’s place. Even if it's a short stay, it's very convenient to have a small kitchen! There is a fridge under the counter and storage with all you need for preparing a meal on the cook top or using the microwave. There is a foldable table for having meals or for working using Wifi. This place has a private bathroom, it is very small, but the shower is very pleasant and you can dry the towels on the rack. Towels and beddings are provided by the hosts. I had two medium suitcases and I was well accommodated using the one-door wardrobe and three more drawers from the tall nightstand to store my stuff. There are plenty more of details, you will feel at home! Dear Kieran and lovely family, thank you so much for this perfect stay!

Warm, cosy and private. Didcot is based in South Oxfordshire and my home is 10 minutes from the train station which offers direct routes into London and Oxford amongst many others. A green and rural area that offers good local restaurants with a mile or so walk and also the perfect place to start your walking holiday. Didcot has a cinema, theatre, large shopping complex, swimming baths and plenty of activities for all the family.
Private room with personal use of WC. Shared shower room and shared living room, lounge area, kitchen and garden. bbq facilities outside. Off road parking available for 2 cars. Washing machine, tumble dryer, dish washer. You’re welcome to use the washing machine but I don’t provide tablets etc so if necessary please bring your own. WiFi and sky tv

  • A lovely stylish home, with nice touches by the host, in a quiet road with parking on drive, and all conveniences. I especially enjoyed the company of Jack the cat in the evening when I got home from work. I would definitely recommend! Thanks Zoe!
