Llandybïe Holiday Rentals

Just booked in Llandybïe

My cottage is a true character build. It is approximately 400 years old give or take a few years. It is steeped in old world charm, you will not be disappointed with your stay. You will enjoy the comfort of a large double bedroom with stone walls and old wooden floor. Downstairs you will also have the comfort of a private living room where you can relax in front of a warm log fire.
My cottage is beautiful. If you want to stay somewhere different and cosy this is the place. Visitors have told me as they walk through the door they immediately start to relax. It's a place that modern life has left behind, if you want hustle and bustle then my home definitely doesn't fit the bill it is far too laid back for that!
Llandybie is one of the largest Villages in Wales and there are several shops within Llandybie. There is a co op just seconds from my cottage. I am situated on the square in Llandybie and have outside parking available. The cottage is in the perfect location, Llandeilo town is only 5 Miles away and Ammanford is 2. 5 Miles it is in a very central location for travel. There is plenty to see within this location such as castles, country parks ect . Dinefwr Park in Llandeilo is beatiful and Carreg Cennen is well worth a visit. I am so close to the Brecon Beacons I can almost smell the mountain air!
  • Elaine was a great host and provided everything I needed. The cottage was beautiful. It was ideal.

  • We had a lovely stay, for one Saturday night. Clive and Catherine responded v quickly to a last minute request to book and were v responsive to messages to confirm arrangements. Good off-road parking and as apartment is separate to the house you don't feel as if you're intruding. Great use of space, all needs covered and would be great base to explore local area for a while. Tea, coffee, cereal and milk all there on arrival. Very friendly, helpful hosts. Apartment dog friendly and there's a park opposite for walks. Highly recommended if you need accommodation in this area.

  • This sweet cottage was the perfect hide-away on such a beautiful farm in Wales, friendly sheep included - we absolutely loved it. It has such character and is peaceful and quiet. It was perfect for a rainey day in front of a fire and also great to explore the surroundings when the sun came out. Lois was very helpful and accommodating, especially as we arrived later than expected. Cannot recommend it more!

  • Idyllic place to stay in the countryside - I would recommend this to couples and small families. The cottage is well equipped, homely, clean and comfortable. There are many things to do in the area.

  • A really gorgeous place to stay. The hosts were welcoming and it was easy to find. The cottage is homely and spacious - a fitted kitchen meant we could self cater too. All in all we were sad we were in the area to go to a wedding and couldn't spend more time at the cottage itself!

    Hannah2016-07-04T00:00:00Z

  • A very relaxing and comfortable stay, in this beautiful cottage. If you are looking for a quiet location this is for you. There are plenty of nice walks and Lois has even produced a map to take with you. Communication with Lois was great and she even provided us with some tinder and kindling for the amazing wood burner in the living room. I would stay again for sure.

    Matthew2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely relaxing stay at the cottage, it is in a tranquil location, and beautifully and comfortably furnished. There were boxes of toys for our 4 year old and swings/slides in the garden as well as the 15 acres to explore!

    Pippa2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • A haven for the soul - an ex-cow shed amid green pastures. Aside from a cold bathroom, the stand-alone unit Is cosy in a rustic setting. Lois & her angelic kids are warm & gracious. She's passionate about her sheep & ready to share insights about them.

  • It was certainly very novel to stay inside a listed mansion in Wales! The house hosts were friendly and gave us lots of information about the area and the history of the mansion. When we needed extra utensils to cook with, these were quickly provided. The mansion is of course very old and has some quirks but provided a good base for seeing the area for a couple of nights. We're interested to see how the restoration proceeds!

    Philip2017-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. Where do I start. This place was AMAZING. It may not be to everyone's liking but how often do you get to stay in listed house that is in the process of being restored?!? From a practical perspective it had everything we needed. The housekeeper mentioned there was an additional door between the apartment and the main house being put in for privacy but in the interim there are keys for the individual bedrooms. Currently no wifi and no phone reception in the house itself but 4G near the entry gate. However, the attraction of this place come from the charm of the housekeeper who explained some of the history of the building, the artefacts within the house (oak staircases and fireplaces), the quirks of a centuries old house (uneven ceilings and floors), and a beautiful garden. Our part of the apartment was freshly painted and carpeted for comfort, and the kitchen and bathroom are new for the purposes of this listing. It will be fascinating to watch the restoration of house and gardens unfold in the coming years.

    Tegan2017-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • A unique expercience!!!Old mansion with beautiful gardens and two lovely housekeepers. They have 5 dogs there that we immediately fell in love with! There's also a well-equiped kitchen, however, no suitable table for eating (just some kind of coffee table). Highly recommended!

Gwennol Cottage is in the heart of the Carmarthenshire countryside with its spectacular views, abundant wildlife and gentle tranquility yet within easy reach of the M4 for a weekend escape. We appeal to families, couples and groups of friends alike because there is something for everyone in this wonderful area which we have called home for nearly 9 years now. Ancient castles, cream teas, mountain walks, famous gardens and boutique shopping are all very close by before retiring to Gwennol.
  • We had a great stay at Gwennol Cottage and would highly recommend to others. Charlotte is a great host and obviously takes a lot of care to ensure the accommodation feels homely. The brecon beacons are great to explore with stuning landscape, waterfalls, castles, wish we could of stayed longer.

  • Incredibly peaceful. We had a great time exploring the Brecon beacons and the beaches down at the Gower peninsula. The cottage had a downstairs en-suite bedroom which was perfect for my dad and it was clean and well furnished. It even has a dishwasher which makes the world of difference to two lazy blokes! Charlotte was a great help and a pleasure to deal with - she even put up with our naughty dog with good grace :)

  • A truly charming and well appointed cottage, my partner and I loved our stay here. Jim and Hazel are communicative, thoughtful and went to great lengths to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The wood fire was a bonus. Jim brought us so much firewood which was much appreciated. The cottage is just outside of Llandeilo and allows for loads of exploring of nearby villages and town centres in the Carmarthenshire area. My partner and I would definitely recommend Cwtch cottage.

    Evelyn2017-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • This wonderful cottage is very neat and clean with everything you could wish for supplied. A very comfy bed and in peaceful surroundings I thoroughly enjoyed my few days there. Convenient location to several local visitor attractions including the national botanic gardens, and a great steam train experience as well as other gardens and castles make this a handy place to stay. Will look at returning in the winter to light the fireplace in this cosy cottage. Definitely recommend staying with Hazel and Jim.

    Paula2017-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at the cottage for three nights to do sightseeing in the area. We were blown away by how well thought out the cottage is! The photos don't do it justice: it is awkward to photograph, but it's very easy to live in. It's wonderfully cosy and so comfortable to stay in, but still has enough space that you don't feel like you're in each other's way. It is evident that a lot of thought and care was put into the cottage! After a cold, wet day out, we especially appreciated the fireplace and the logs that were provided for us. It is very close to a small town with shops, as well as attractions such as Carreg Cennen and Dinefwr castles. We wished we could have stayed longer - but now we know for next time :) We'll definitely recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the area!

  • Great but a bit small

    Anand2017-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The suite was great, our own space. Paul and Jacki saved us from a failed booking, and we are so greatful. Their home is amazing with beautiful views. So quiet here. Recommended.

  • The annex is small (not suitable for those with lots of luggage or who want to hang up clothes) but private with a good ensuite bathroom. The bed is comfortable with decent bedding. The house is reached by driving midway up a narrow track, which means you have good views from the terrace in front of the room. There is Wifi available, albeit with relatively poor speeds, and plenty of plug sockets in the room. Toiletries and towels were provided. Not suitable if you have a dog hair allergy, as the friendly dog had been in the room before we arrived.

Barcud is one of our cosy, welcoming holiday cottages at Golden Grove Cottages. Barcud Cottage is a stone built semi detached barn conversion set in rolling countryside with breath-taking views. We are only 3.5 miles from the vibrant market town of Llandeilo with its specialist shops and eateries and 900 year old castle, just minutes from Aberglasney Gardens and The National Botanical Gardens of Wales and less than 10 miles from the impressive Brecon Beacons National Park.
We live up on a hill in a very quiet and peaceful spot and our nearest neighbours are approx 400 mtrs away. However, if you need access to the M4 we are only 10 minutes from its end point in rolling, beautiful countryside. Our nearest town is Llandeilo and everyone falls for its charms
  • Everything was as we could have wished with all help provided. This definitely an ideal place for a longer weekend in the colder season with a good central heating. Additional to the super markets listed just 4 miles away there is a very new Aldi store.

  • Was really pleased to see outdoor play area for kids on site. Got a big climbing thing with a slide and a smaller one for tots. Cottage was bigger than photos gave it credit for, it was much more spacious. For example, there was ample room on the first floor for the travel cot. I loved all the natural light in the place too. Very nicely decorated, very clean and tidy. It was only a short drive away from supermarkets, and some really nice places to eat and visit. However, it's up a short but windy single lane, so if you struggle driving on them be prepared. Kind, helpful hosts and lovely cottages in a lovely area. Will definitely look it up again in future visits.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Barcud cottage, would definitely return! Quiet and very scenic, great base for exploring the area! Charlotte was a great host! Thank you.

  • It was immaculate, spacious and very well laid out. Easy to find and nice and private, feeling very safe at all times. It was close to a lovely market town Llandeilo and within 15 minutes of a number of great places, both National Trust and other gardens etc.

    Jane2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend Charlotte's cottages at golden grove! It exceeded all our expectations - tranquil, relaxing and had everything on hand for an enjoyable stay!

    Kate2017-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautiful, with amazing views of the local area. Close to lots of things to see and explore. Can't recommend the cottage enough.

    thomas2017-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Charlotte is a very friendly and caring host and just a phonecall away, if you should have a problem or question. The cottage is very well equipped, Even with a door protective grid, so that our little Girl could sleep safely upstairs. The beds are very comfortable, the two bathrooms in a very good and clean shape. We prepped dinner and breakfast in the Kitchen and did Not Miss a thing. In front of the cottage is a little playground and we could watch our daughter play from the kitchen window. We even washed and tumble dried our clothes in the provided washing machine and tumble dryer. A Perfect cottage for a Family with Kids. The view of wales is stunning and our girl even had the possibility to feed the lambs, although we couldn't make it because she was so tired of our days discovering the region. A lovely castle, amazing landscapes and good shopping opportunities are a 10-20min drive away. We would love to return next year.

  • Very good experience. The house was better than it appears in the pics. We got far more space than expected. Only thing that can improve is that guests should be provided with storage space / cupboards. The cupboards were already full. We did not mind this since we stayed just for a night.

Peaceful, light, spacious country home for 8+. Underfloor heating throughout, free WiFi, wood fireplace, and more. Secluded setting in unspoilt countryside with great walks, parks, beaches, castles and museums it is a warm house to return to.
Built 300 years ago, our home is named Gwynfryn, which means White Hill. The house is nestled in the rolling hills of south west Wales, set in half an acre of landscaped garden 2 miles from Llandeilo, a small delightful town located on the north bank of the river Towy. The Vale of Towy is one of the most beautiful valleys in Wales. Llandeilo is rich in history, with records dating back to the 13th century. The house was modernised and completed in 2010. It is full of light and very comfortable. Its contempory design gives a spacious yet cosy feeling. Fully fitted open-plan kitchen with fridge freezer, dishwasher, dining room with lots of light streaming in through the south windows, with double doors leading onto the patio. Two comfortable lounges, one with a fire place. Downstairs you’ll find the walk-in shower and toilet, also the utility room with washing machine. Upstairs is the bath with bidet and toilet. 4 bedrooms, two with kingsize beds, one with two 3-ft single beds that can be clipped together to make a super king. These three rooms all have doors leading onto the spacious south-facing, secluded roof terrace, overlooking the garden and the woodland to the east. The fourth bedroom has a double mattress plus a double mattress on a gallery. All bed linen and towels are provided, but we ask that you bring your own beach towels, if you are planning beach trips. We don’t have TV as such but a 45-inch screen is connected to a DVD player (with a movie library) and you can plug in your own laptop. The screen also has internet (e.g. BBC iPlayer). WiFi throughout the house. For music you can connect your iPod, laptop etc to our kitchen ceiling speakers.
Llandeilo is on the A40 between Carmarthen and Brecon. Carmarthen is 17 miles away, Swansea 22 miles by car. Llandeilo town offers a great range of interesting shops, boutiques, cafes, the Heavenly chocolate shop, the Gin House, Cawdor hotel and restaurant, plus other opportunities to eat out or take away. Every year in July Llandeilo buzzes with its Jazz festival, and Festival of Music. Around Llandeilo, there are many places to enjoy and visit, Dinefwr Castle with its deer park and ancient trees is just on the edge of town. Carreg Cennen Castle and Dryslwyn Castle are nearby. So are the The National Botanic Garden of Wales, Aberglasney Gardens, Llanelli Wetland Centre, Brechfa Forest, Brecons Beacons, Abergorlech River and Forest Walk, and many more. There are also many beautiful beaches such as Pembrey Country Park (eight miles of beautiful soft golden sandy beach and dunes, idyllic woodland, camping sites, ski slope, horse riding, bicycle hire and many other facilities. Pendine Beach (stunning seven miles of sandy beach), Laugharne Beach on the edge of the River Taf estuary (18 mins from the town of Carmarthen), where you can also visit Dylan Thomas’ writing shed, one of his places of inspiration, and walk up to Laugharne, the 12-century Norman castle, as well as enjoy healthy steep wooded walks overlooking the river and out to sea. And the list goes on! You can find more information and links to MERLIN COUNTRY on my website.
  • We had an excellent stay in Elaine's lovely house. There were 7 members of our party for which the size and facilities were more than adequate. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the region.

    Sam2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing bank holiday weekend at Elaine's. A few days before Elaine checked in with us to ask how we'd like the beds arranged (single or double) and to give us some information about our stay. The house was really clean and we were given a pretty detailed booklet guide to help us work out the ceiling speakers and tv. It was a perfect getaway for socialing with friends - a huge balcony, a fully equipped kitchen, music/DVDs and pretty garden. There is only one shower (the upstairs bathroom has a bath only) which is quite difficult with 8 of you but otherwise the facilities were great. Our only issue was with the BBQ - we'd specifically asked if there was one available however when we went to use it it hasn't been cleaned and there was old rotting meat at the bottom which we had to clean out. Otherwise we had a great time and enjoyed the local area, especially the nearby castle and the chocolate shop in town.

    Sophie2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Gywnfryn was beautiful and quite charming. Elaine welcomed us and walked us through after our long ride from London. The children really enjoyed the lawns and pond. A perfect retreat while we prepared for a wedding. Countryside was beautiful and the bedrooms were well laid out. Beds were so comfortable. Loved our stay and hope that we have an opportunity to stay again.

    Kathy2016-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine's home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The room are spacious and bright. The beds very comfortable. We enjoyed her garden from deck and table outside dinning room. Elaine was a gracious host showing us her home at the start, and coming over quickly when there was a minor problem. I recommend her home for AirBnB.

    BRIAN2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This home is a beautiful base, it's spacious, homely and welcoming surrounded by lovely gardens. We were a party of 8 (5adults, 1teen, and a 6 and 2 year old) there was plenty of room for all and a supply of toys and books to keep all entertained. The only downside was although 2 bathrooms, there was only 1 shower but this was easily worked out (and when you see the bathroom it's understable why there isn't a shower over the freestanding bath). We are already thinking about a re-visit next summer if it's available. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Thank you

    Nicholas2017-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an excellent time staying in Elaine's gorgeous house. The place was perfect for our party of 8. The rooms were a good size and the facilities great. There are a couple of lovely castle ruins (Cennen Carreg and Dinefwr) a short drive away too, which is always a good thing! Would definitely recommend.

  • This is a lovely place to stay in a beautiful part of Wales. Llandeilo which is just up the road boasts a fab Ginhaus for drinks and the Cawdor Hotel does lovely food and a great pint. Also recommended is the castle at Carreg Cennan and the pub a mile away from the castle in Trapp, where we had home made Cawl (Cow-al) and a good sing song in the evening. The accomodation is super clean and comfortable and has good wifi connection. The kitchen is well equipped with new white goods. Hot water is plentiful so long as you get up before the unit next door and Aloma is a delightful lady who knows her local area well for hot tips on where to go. Recommended!

Beautifully converted, self-contained cartshed in rural Carmarthenshire.
You are very welcome to come and stay in our converted former cartshed on our smallholding near Gelli Aur (Golden Grove.) The cartshed is fully self-contained and has its own walled patio area. It is very quiet here, with most noise coming from the sheep and the chickens.
This is a beautiful part of rural Carmarthenshire, with views from the patio towards Carreg Cennen castle and the Brecon Beacons. We are within easy driving distance of most of the attractions in South West Wales.
  • Doug and stella were wonderful hosts and provided everything we needed and more, including fresh egg from the farm and a homemade honey cake, we also enjoyed helping feed the lambs, overall it's a lovely place and would look at coming back in the summer, thanks Nick and Gemma

    Nick2015-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • The photos didn't do the house justice, the rooms were airy and beautifully finished. The views from the patio were stunning and it was so quiet! Doug and Stella were fantastic hosts, very welcoming and informative, always willing to make helpful suggestions on the area. Maps and flyers were displayed in the porch for local attractions. The kitchen had all the essentials we needed and the shops were only an 8 minute drive away. The best bit was the complimentary fresh eggs and honey cake on arrival!

    Adele2014-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful bank holiday weekend at the Cartshed. On arrival we were greeted by Doug and Stella's delicious cupcakes. It was the perfect place for our first trip with our seven month old, lots of space and well equipped with everything we needed. There are lots of lovely places nearby to visit but you will need a car.

    Abi2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Many others have said it but the great pictures still don't do this place enough justice! The Cartshed is absolutely fantastic and very well equipped with everything you could need for a night or a week in this beautiful part of Wales. The location is a perfect base for exploring the Brecons, the Gower, and beyond. From booking right through to our departure, Doug (and Stella) were incredibly welcoming and helpful and quick to respond to any emails. During our stay they were right next door when we had questions or needed suggestions but never intrusive - the perfect hosts. We were lucky enough to have sunshine for our weekend there so didn't get to use the log burner but did make full use of the outdoor courtyard. All in all we'd thoroughly recommend the Cartshed to individuals or couples looking to enjoy and explore this part of Wales from a truly comfortable and well equipped house.

    Jamie2016-04-18T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what an amazing find. We were blown away by the location, the finish, the friendliness and the overall experience. If you want a break in rural Wales but with all the mod cons then this is it. From the beautiful bedroom to the quaint log burner this cottage is perfect. We are already looking into when we can go back again. Best stay I've had on airbnb so far!!!!

    Hannah2014-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • A spacious luxurious rural retreat in beautiful hilly Welsh countryside. Stella and Doug are great hosts. National Botanic Garden and Aberglasny Gardens nearby. Great base camp exploring SW Wales.

  • The Cartshed is a lovely place to get away from it all and relax for the weekend. We had a great stay with everything very clean and nicely finished inside. We were greeted with Christmas cake which was a lovely touch too. Would stay again for sure!

  • This is a fab house. Hilary is great, the house and location were perfect thank you!

  • This cottage makes an excellent base for visiting local gardens; we were there to see the Botanic Garden of Wales (a short drive) and Aberglasney (a few minutes driving, or a pleasant 45-minute walk). The cottage is clean, roomy, comfortable, and it has an especially well-equipped kitchen*. There are maps for walkers. It was light and airy on the days we were there; there is a pleasant orchard out back. it is on a well-used B road (that is, not a main highway), but we found it quiet, especially at night. That also means it is easy to find (about 1/4 mile East of the turn-off for Golden Grove or Aberglasney. Hugh was waiting there to welcome us. *If you are cooking for yourself, there is a Coop in Llandeilo for basic stuff, and nearby Wright's Food Emporium for fancy stuff.

    Greg2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is lovely, and has everything you could need for a stay, it was very clean and cosy. Communication from start to finish was fantastic, could not recommend the place enough

  • V well appointed and cosy. Out in the country and well located for the delights of the area..

    Paul2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great rural bolt hole but with easy driving access to pretty town of Llandeillo... which has everything both food and retail covered. The road is fast in front of the Lodge but not overly busy when we were there and with public footpaths either side of the road you can take a walk from literally right outside the gate. Some great places to eat within a relatively short drive and wonderful castles and gardens to visit. The Lodge is very well equipped with wood burner, lovely kitchen and gadgets to make for lovely cosy evenings in. Hilary was great...from directions, advice on where to eat, to leaving some emergency provisions of milk and Welsh cakes! We would love to come back!

    Paul2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • North Lodge had absolutely everything we could have wanted for our stay near Llandeilo - very well equipped kitchen (including a Nespresso machine and pods!), wonderfully comfortable beds, oodles of hot water, and total peace and quiet. Hilary and Hugh were there to greet us upon arrival, even though we were later than expected, and were contactable during our stay if we needed anything. I would highly recommend a stay at North Lodge - it's only five minutes (probably less) from Llandeilo which is a lovely little Welsh town - with a fantastic classical music festival!

    Jacqueline2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for one night and really enjoyed our stay. Hosts were lovely. Clean and comfortable with everything you could ever need. Outside seating area and garden are lovely and private - good for breakfast in the morning. Other reviews have mentioned the road - it didn't bother us at all. We plan to return for a longer stay in the future.

    Rhydian2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • A very good ABnB experience which I'd happily recommend. The cottage is actually better than the photos suggest! Hilary was very helpful and they've paid attention to details that matter - we were especially happy with the kitchen (which can sometimes be a bit basic). Bed and linen were also of higher quality than usual. A wood fire already burning for our welcome tells you they care!

My place is set in the village of Glanaman close to the market town of Ammanford and overlooking the black mountains. We are just a twenty minute drive to the Historic town of Llandeilo . Thirty minutes to Swansea and LLanelli. Ideal for walking and cycling, fishing , golf, and site seeing . Naming the Brecon Beacons, carreg cennen castle. The Gower coastline and award winning beaches a must to visit.
A modern spacious fully equipped apartment . With Kitchen and dining area , bathroom .Spacious Lounge on the first floor leading onto Double bedroom.
Our position offers a great base to explore, the Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains, the welsh castles, and the beautiful award winning Gower Coastline.
  • They were delayed by work but phoned us to advise where to find the key .The village is near the mountains and a river and has pretty views ,supermarkets are within reach near by via car . There are 2 pubs one only a short step away both serving excellent food ,the nearer Farmers Arms a more traditional pub offers a very warm welcome . The accommodation is everything shown and more, very warm and comfortable with tea, coffee and sugar supplied also milk biscuits and Welsh Cakes .The hosts went the extra mile to be helpful to us offering advice and help when it was asked for. It made our visit to Wales to meet family for a War Memorial Dedication even better knowing we had a lovely property to return to with considerate hosts.

  • Both the hosts and the accommodation were lovely. In a great location that enabled us easy access to the Brecon Beacons and other locations. Hosts warm and welcoming with great tips on where to go and always available for help if you have any problems. Accommodation had everything we needed, bed is a double which is on the small side for my partner who is 6"6 but we slept well, wifi connection is a bit hit and miss, but not a problem if this is not a necessity. Kitchen very well equipped, including an oven and washing machine. Overall very comfortable accommodation, feels secure tucked back off the road with nice touches including biscuits and milk!

  • Stayed here for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend, Ian was very friendly (didn't see much of Maretta, but I assume she was just as nice!) Very cute little lodge easy to get to and local to Gower+Brecon Beacons which is why we chose it! The apartment was very clean, freeview TV, massive fridge and oven, microwave, washing machine and kettle, walk in shower, not a thing I would have changed and would've probably stayed longer if we had had the chance! Local area was very nice, Tescos, Lidl, few Pubs and takeaways. I'd recommend this to Anyone as we had a lovely experience, perfect for couples and families

  • Ian was very welcoming and helpful, and the lodge was just as we'd expected - very comfortable and spotless. Loved the homely decor and the light and airy rooms. Good pub food and takeaways within a few minutes' drive. If you're looking for a quiet location within reasonable driving distance of the national park, this is a perfect place to stay.

  • Very clean and tidy space with everything you need for a short stay. Quiet and well placed location. We enjoyed staying there. Thank you to the hosts!

  • Very nice and super tidy place we found it extremely relaxing and peaceful. Ian was really helpful whenever we needed anything, I can't recommend staying at their house enough. It is very close to the mountain and Swansea for those exploring. I had a course at the BMW off-road skills centre and that was only 20mim drive which worked brilliantly.

My place is close to parks, great views, and restaurants and dining. You’ll love my place because of the views, the location, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, business travellers, and families (with kids).
Tregib Mill Cottage is on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park with iconic views and easy acess to National Trust properties, Botanic Gardens and charming market town of Llandeilo. Great for walking, fishing, bird
  • This a is a great cottage. Perfect location for fishing the Towey and a super place to stay. It's very practical with the stone/ tiled floor in the reception/ kitchen downstairs, which makes it easy to keep clean.

  • Comfortably slept 3 adults, 2 children and a dog. The house itself is clean, modern and spacious. The area is beautiful with lots of picturesque walks and there are a couple of really nice pubs within about 10 minutes walk (which is a very pleasant walk too)! It was everything we needed for our break and would definitely visit again.

    Michelle2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Gaina was the perfect hostess. Great communications and a very accurate description of the cottage. The setting is idyllic and very convenient for the local town with it's shops and places to eat. I would particularly recommend the local butcher for great welsh produce! A very peaceful setting and a good base to explore the area. Hope to return next year.

  • My friends and I spent a weekend in this very cosy cottage right at the edge of the the park and we really had a good time. The area is very quite but close enough to another small town with a few restaurants, cafes, pubs and a supermarket. Make sure you check out Ginhaus deli in Llandeilo for great meals and some amazing Welch cheese. Great value for the price you pay, definitely recommended.

Lodge in unspoilt position on the edge of the Black Mountains, next to Carreg Cennen Castle. Pretty village with pub and beautiful walks. Comfortable house with under floor heating, Jacuzzi bath and games room with full size pool table, big garden.
  • Cennen Lodge was absolutely beautiful, 4 large double bedrooms, large comfortable living room and the small village of Trap is absolutely gorgeous! Mike and Yvonne were in the pub opposite where we had a delicious meal on the Friday night and they really couldn't of been more helpful or kind. We look forward to coming back!

  • We stayed here as a group of 4 adults and 4 teenagers and the house was perfect for us in terms of space and bedroom layout. It is a very quiet location which is lovely but also near enough to larger towns for shopping etc. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. It was lovely to have the owners across the road in the pub where they have a wide selection of good food - an added bonus.

    Nigel And Heather2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Cennen Lodge is a beautiful house located in a idyllic setting. It was easy to find as it is right opposite of the owner's pub. The house was well equipped with everything you need for self catering. The house is very spacious with a large kitchen which has underfloor heating. It was cosy and warm throughout. We loved the view over the Carreg Cennen castle. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We will return in the summer to explore Brecon Beacon.

  • This is a lovely place to stay in a quiet rural area. It was ideal for our needs, out of the way, but in easy reach of a small town. Friendly pub just across the road and country walks just outside the front door. Everything we needed from the house, with no hassle.

  • Had a fantastic stay at Carmarthenshire Holiday House, we couldn't ask for more, the hosts have made such an effort on their property to make it as comfortable and homely as possible, every detail has been considered, we can't recommend it highly enough, easy check in, great communication and a really lovely home, thank you so much for making our stay perfect

  • Andie's place is very comfortable and spotlessly clean. She has thought of everything and is a superb host. I would definitely stay there again!

  • Andie's place was great; just as she described and very well thought out. Comfortable and very clean. It felt like home and as a parent it's comforting to see that she's even thought of the little ones by providing utensils and dishes just for them. Not to mention, a travel cot and high chair. While Cross Hands is a small town, there is plenty to do and see within a short driving distance.

  • A lovely newly refurbished house with everything you need. Would gladly stay here again

  • Andy's home is well equipped to entertain anyone from 0 to 99 years old (it's actually hard to find a toddler friendly listing because of all the equipment required). As a family travelling with two Under 2s we really felt this was a home away from home. Andy's communication and finishing touches really made a difference! Best Airbnb host I have had the pleasure to meet. Clean, comfortable and well equipped, situated in a quiet location and with off street parking. Shops are very close nearby, and location wise it worked for us as we wanted a "base" fairly central to Souh Wales to do day trips to the coast, Pembrokeshire, the Bretons Beacons, etc etc. I highly recommend Andy's house to anyone of all ages. Many thanks Andy! Roberta and family

    Roberta2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • We've spent a greate week in Andie's house. The house is beautiful, perfectly maintained and warm (our daughters love staying at home playing and drawing with all the games, books, and toys available in the house). The situation is perfect to visit the south of Wales. Little more than an hour to Cardiff or Pembrokeshire coast, it's a great place to have a central situation for your trip. But the most valuable thing is Andie's kindness. She is very worried about having everything perfect, informing us about all the details even before our trip. She solved all our problems with a smile (e. g. providing us a power adapter). Even she had some presents for our daughters the day we arrived! Of course, if we come back to the south of Wales, we will be delighted to be again in Andie's house.

    Iván2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • A superb home away from home. We were delighted by the thoughtfulness of our host as well as her high standards and attention to detail. I would recommend Andie's place to anybody visiting South Wales.

  • Completely relaxing home from home with everything we needed and lots of thoughtful added touches. Dawn was away so we had the place to ourselves. After days visiting beauty spots with loads of walking it was lovely to relax in front of the telly. The small courtyard with comfy furniture was great for a sunny cuppa in the morning or a chill out in the evening. Dawn's place is centrally, but quietly, situated in a lovely country town which is great as a base for local exploration or wider travels. Highly recommended.

  • Dawn's home is lovely and was a perfect base while we visited family. Little extras like a choice of cereal, jam and toast for breakfast and toiletries in the bathroom were a really nice touch. Great location in the centre of Llandeilo too, with handy Spar shop across the road!

  • Dawn was the best host ever! She came to pick us up from the bus station and then we went to her house which was really BEAUTIFUL and very clean. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. We spent a very good night. the next day we had a royal breakfast! After that, Dawn took us to visit the ruins of a castle, the landscape was very beautiful. Then Dawn dropped us at the beach, which was right next to the bus station, it was really amazing! I recommend this house to everyone! Dawn is so nice! A big thank you to her for everything! Saliha

  • We had a great time staying with Rhian and her family, they were very welcoming and had a lovely house. Their youngest son showed us to our room and their cat kept us company while we drank wine in their garden which stretched over 3 levels behind the house. Great location, everything was as we had wanted, they were also very flexible with our checkout time which made our lives much easier!

  • Rhian's place is absolutely gorgeous and it's in a pefect location for anyone visiting Llandeilo and the western area of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The views from the garden taking in the hills are panoramic and the house is full of character, clean and comfy. Rhian is a very warm hostess and I particularly appreciated her prompt offer of a cup of tea and toast when I arrived late afternoon at the end of a rather protracted Friday journey from London. Thank you for making me feel so at home, Rhian!

  • We spent two nights in this lovely home. Only met Rhian briefly at the end of our stay and she was very friendly. Aled was great: we arrived at 10pm exhausted and hungry after a very long hike - he took our boots to dry and gave us a lift to the only open eatery in town. He was really helpful and friendly throughout, sharing local info and history. The whole family were very welcoming ...we were very comfortable. the house is full of interesting features and objects and the garden lovely. We were free to come and go and found LLandeilo to be a very interesting and pretty town. Thank you all - highly recommended - would definitely stay again!

  • We were made very welcome and enjoyed the conversations with Mr Samuels about the history of the area, He even took us to where we could visit the local attraction and then left us to wander ourselves around the castle and Newton house. He told us about the white cattle and their origins . We enjoyed our two nights in the area and found it ideal to. Visit other areas on the. Coast. Would recommend this place to anyone else coming here. A very good host.

  • We had a wonderful family pre-Christmas great at The Nest. The place is delightful with wonderful decor, soft furnishings and all the mod cons including the much loved coffee maker! Thank you for a fantastic stay - we will no doubt he back soon!

  • The Nest is a perfect place to stay and has all the comforts of home, and is a place to look forward to coming home to after a busy day sight seeing. Collection of the keys was easy and was a great way to do it as were were coming to Llandielo from North Wales and were unsure how long it would really take. Not having to meet someone at a specific time was a great relief. The home is close to some really good restaurants (we loved the Gin Haus just around the corner and the hotel just up the road both have great menus) and is an ideal location for sightseeing in South Wales with the coast and Brecon Beacons quite close-by. Exploring the town and nearby estate and castle was a good day out and well worth doing. I would highly recommend The Nest to anyone interested in staying in that part of Wales.

  • Claire's place was really amazing, we loved the decor and lots of thought has gone into each detail. The description was as exactly as described and the property was very clean when we arrived. Claire left milk, coffee, sugar and other small fancies including shortbread biscuits(My Favourite) which my family argued over :) The neighbourhood was nice and the local people were friendly. It gets very quiet at night and not much to do but that was perfect for us as we live in the city of Manchester and wanted to get away from it all. Dinefwr Park/Castle was very local about 10 min walk away which was great and the view from the top of the castle was breathtaking well worth a visit. Overall a great experience, it felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend it.

  • This place is stunning. Absolutely as described in the listing and situated in a lovely town. Will definitely be coming back soon.

  • Claire did everything possible in advance to make our stay as easy and welcoming as possible. It's a great little place to stay with plenty of space in the lounge/kitchen/dining area to relax. It's ideally located on the edge of the Brecon Beacons and there's plenty of suggestions of things you can do. There's a great walk around the town and up to the castle, with spectacular views once you're there. Hopefully we'll be back soon.

My mother ( 84) managed to get around easily inside the property and thoroughly enjoyed her stay. Thank you so much, Alice.

Gorgeous character cottage renovated with complete comfort and relaxation in mind. With a log burning stove, 3 bedrooms, 1 of which has an ensuite shower room. One of the oldest houses in Llandeilo on a quiet lane a few steps from town. Parking just at top of street.
Very recently renovated while retaining its period charm, we have poured our hearts into making our cottage comfy, cosy and relaxing. With 3 bedrooms, a kitchen with all you could want and with amazing views of the surrounding countryside from the garden. Decorated in muted tones, with soft sumptuous furnishings, want our guests to feel instantly relaxed all year round, whatever the season. Originally 2 cottages on one of the original streets in Llandeilo, the cottage he vaulted ceilings, exposed stone, original beams, wooden floors and cosy log burner. Named as the coolest place to stay by the Sunday Times, Llandeilo is known for its boutique shops, great food as well as hosting regular festivals of music and creativity. The cottage is just a short stroll away from the shops and cafes yet it's so quiet and peaceful . We are surrounded by lovely walks, which you can do straight from the front door. After a day of exploring, come back to your cosy retreat for a soak in the deep bath, a glass of wine by the crackling log burner and a restful sleep in crisp white bedding and fluffy duvets. Bring back some delicious fresh food from the local butchers or one of the delis on the high street and sit around the big farmhouse table. The kitchen has a large range cooker and everything you need to cook up a feast. 2 hairdryers are provided

With a range of amazing places to eat and drink. From great coffee and relaxing drinks in delis like the Gin Haus, award winning ice cream in Heavenly, hearty pub lunches in traditional pubs and sipping champagne in the Cawdor Hotel, Llandeilo has something for everyone. Small but perfectly formed you can plan your weekend by trying every place! Perfectly located with countryside and castles your doorstep . Great walks directly from the cottage, llandeilo is a dog friendly town with a lot of places welcoming dogs into the bar. Llandeilo is in an enviable location, nestled amongst the most beautiful countryside (Brecon Beacons one way, Carmarthenshire the other). Then there’s the castles on the outskirts, the ancient Carreg Cennen, Dinefwr castle and Newton House on the doorstep. The walks are outstanding and numerous. Garn Gogh the Iron Age fort rewards you with spectacular views across the countryside and Llandeilo beyond. • We had a lovely, relaxing 4 night stay in Quay Cottage. The Cottage was the perfect base to explore beautiful Llandeilo and the surrounding countryside. One of our favourite memories of our trip to Llandeilo was enjoying the stunning views of the misty hills from the terrace. Absolutely beautiful! We had a perfect stay at Quay Cottage and look forward to visiting again in the future! Thanks again Lisa. David and Alexa.

  • We have all had the most wonderful 8 day stay at Quay Cottage and found it very hard to leave..... we would love to return!! Lisa was so helpful and answered any queries we had very promptly and the bottle of bubbly in the fridge on our arrival was a very thoughtful touch! Thank you. The cottage was just as described and pictured, so beautifully and tastefully decorated, cosy and most inviting. It really did have it all, a great wood burner, comfy beds with crisp white bed linen, a really stylish and well equipped kitchen..... even a Roberts radio to listen to while cooking! Llandeilo was a very friendly little town with lots of great little shops. We especially loved the Gin Haus deli/cafe.... really great for brunch and tasty pizzas on Friday and Saturday evenings..... highly recommended! As for the walks, so many, take your walking boots and a map! So close to the Gower too...... It's been great, loved it ALL! Thanks so much Lisa.

  • Quay cottage is beautiful, immaculately clean, bright and elegant. It also has all the amenities you could possibly require for a short or long stay. Lisa had even gone to the trouble of getting some milk, butter, coffee etc. Quay cottage is in a perfect location for strolling around Llandeilo and its excellent shops and restaurants. The garden terrace is enchanting, especially in the evenings for star gazing. We will definitely be returning.

  • Quay Cottage is a fabulous place to stay and explore a beautiful area! The cottage is clean, beautifully designed and decorated with everything you could need for a comfortable stay, Lisa has thought of it all! We sat in the sunshine on the terrace admiring the views every day ! There are walks straight from the back door - Dinefwr castle and estate is a must and within walking distance. Llandeilo itself is a little gem, interesting shops, lovely places to eat and most of all friendly local people who make you feel so welcome. We have had a wonderful stay and can't wait to return. Lisa is a super host, nothing is too much trouble - thank you !

  • thank you Quay Cottage (and Lisa!) for a wonderful and relaxing weekend! Our visit to Llandeilo wasn't blessed with the best of Welsh weather, but Quay Cottage kept us dry and warm, with plenty of space and comfort for us, the 3yr old and the dog, to relax and enjoy our getaway. It's the little details that count when getting away from it all, and Quay Cottage certainly delivers!

Boutique camping in beautifully furnished Bell tents set in the historical stunning setting of Dinefwr, Llandelio. This pop-up camp-site is set in a secluded meadow, perfect for those looking for a rustic escape to the scenic Welsh countryside.
Located in a peaceful, secluded meadow within Dinefwr Courtyard, we have a range of tents perfect for couples, families and small groups looking for a retreat to the Welsh Countryside. Each tent is fully furnished with mattresses, although we do ask if you bring your own duvets/sleeping bags and bed sheets. Each tent is decorated with magical lanterns, cosy rugs blankets and cushions, and fabulous bunting to create luxury and comfort away from your home. Our bell tents are wonderfully adaptable to suit the many weather conditions south of Wales can bring. On warm summers days, the sides of the tents can be easily rolled up to allow a breeze, and on a chilly evening they are warm and cosy to make you feel right at home. At night, enjoy the peace and quiet of this secluded location and relax around a campfire with your friends or family. Each tent has a fire pit nearby with a complimentary basket of locally sourced chopped wood providing a great place to gather and enjoy the wilderness. Additional wood is available for a small fee.
With Llandelio town in walking distance from the campsite (approximately 10 minutes walk up Dinefwr park driveway) you are very close to civilisation. The small town hosts many restaurants and cafes to cater for your needs. Be sure to check out the Ginhaus – the best delicatessen and gin in Wales!
  • Alex was there when we arrived to show us round. Great tent and facilities in a lovely country setting. Quiet and secluded. He even gave us a lift to the local town one evening. And he had lit the gas lamps and candles for our return home. Would definitely recommend to friends and family! My only comment would be to have a mirror in the tent.

  • We were asked for arrival time and were given clear directions and met on arrival. I have been to dinefwr before staying elsewhere and so know and like the area well. The tent was as described and was perfect for our needs ( we are a family of four - two kids 3.5 and 5 yrs). It was my first air bnb booking so was a bit nervous but there was no need. Have been glamping many times and this was one of my favourite - we had sole use of area, a camp stove was provided for tea making and the swing was great for both kids and adults. The wheel barrow fire pit was especially cool and bathroom excellent. Thank you

  • Four of us (& our cat) stayed here for one night. It was like stepping into a fairytale. Just past the castle, you arrive at the house where Alexander greeted us, showed us the indoor bathroom (lovely) and helped us to the campsite by taking our luggage in an old cart! The campsite was adorable. You have your outdoor cooker, a fire, a swing, candles everywhere, fairylights, a dainty dining table & chairs with a shelter protecting it. It's all just so pretty!! The tent itself was very cozy and really comfortable beds. Was good fun for us as a group. Would be excellent for a romantic weekend away.

    Fiona 2016-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely short stay here last weekend. Alex the host was really helpful both before and after arrival and made us feel very welcome. Our only criticism is that the pictures don't do the site justice. The tent faces into a little copse of very mature trees which provide a lovely sheltered outdoor living space and an anchor point for a swing chair, which the kids monopolised the whole time we were there. In the space there's a (moveable) firepit and a dining table and chairs as well as the benches you can see in the pictures. In case it rains there's a tarp-style awning so that you can still eat at the table in proper glamping style as opposed to off your knees in the tent! The toilet facility is in the house proper and is a lovely space with nice big enamel bath and vintage porcelain (and by that I don't mean grubby!).

    Siencyn2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Alex was a delightful host, made us very welcome, showed us around the site - beautifully presented with bunting, candles, fire pit, lanterns, fairy lights, stove and comfy beds in a pretty location under the trees with private loo and hot bath just minutes walk away. He had provided everything promised and more and it was a perfect stop off for us on our way to West Wales. Llandeilo has some lovely shopping and good places to eat, and plenty to do in the surrounding area. Good luck with your venture Alex, Thank you.
