Just booked in Llanfyllin

Three log cabins (Sleep 2 in each) TV in both. Wc / Washroom. One outdoor shower and a outdoor bath. Log burning Finnish Sauna. Treehouse sleps two persons. We also an out door bbq dining area.Magnificent views over the hills and down to the river. Only 1 mile from the famous Lake Vyrnwy and Dam.
  • Awesome place. Right in the wilds of Wales. Quirky and fantastic, what airbnb is all about. Stuart is an all round great guy, his lift over the mountain in his 4x4 was a highlight. Highly recommended.

  • Hidden away in the hills, The cabins are a great hideaway for a couples retreat or a group visit. Visiting in February, it was cold on the evening making the showering an experience! With what seemed to be an unlimited supply of hot water we had no trouble keeping warm in there- it was getting out which proved to be difficult. Alternately there is the outdoor bath but we opted to get in the Sauna as quickly as possible, and stayed there for the rest of the night. Stuart was very welcoming. Upon arrival we realized we forgot the tonic for our gin so instead of pointing us to the local shop, we were welcomed into his home for a drink and to be provided with a bottle of tonic. We also received a tour of his amazing home! Will hopefully be visiting again in the summer to make the most of the outdoor area and maybe even the tree house!

  • Directions good. Location easy to find. Warm welcome, plenty of information. Accommodation as described and as illustrated in the pictures. Good cooking facilities, lots of pots and crockery and cutlery. Good rural location yet close to many excellent atteactions. Highly recommended.

    Nia2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location for exploring the area - walks from the front door. Stuart is an attentive and helpful host. The outside bath was brilliant - soaking in the sunshine overlooking the trees and stream can't be beaten for location. The shower, again outdoors, was hot and powerful. The cooking facilities are basic but we managed to prepare meals with a bit of improvisation. It was great waking up to the view and to listen to the birdsong.

  • First off, we read all the reviews before booking. If your expecting centre parks - look elsewhere! If your looking for a relaxing, different , off the beaten track, getting away from it all "glamping" experience - this is for you! We loved it, despite the cold wet weather, we can't wait to return. Stewart was great, made us feel comfortable and welcome. Loved sitting outside toasting hot Cross buns on the open fire. The vhs collection was great, loved laying in bed watching videos. Our only issue was the very rough track to the property. Stewart had warned us, but even our Audi A3 was scraping the underside. Really a 4x4 is needed unless the track is levelled a little. We will return! Jan & chris

  • Absolutely LOVED our stay with Stuart. From the outdoor bath and washing machine drum fire, to the old school video movie selection and cosy kitchen, the place was perfect. Certainly not glamping but far more interesting and unusual. Could have happily stayed all week! Also a lovely surrounding area with plenty to see and do. Will be recommending it to our friends and hope to be back with a group again soon!

  • Great spot - just as described - accomodation just like the picture - sadly we didnt have time to try the infinity bath or sauna. Great welcome. Very helpful on stuff locally eg dinner

    Johnny2016-05-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a relaxing weekend! I came here for two nights with my boyfriend and would highly recommend a visit. The area was beautiful (especially with the autumn leaves) and very quiet. I would recommend cycling around the lake and visiting out of season when there are not many other tourists. Stuart's place is beautiful, relaxing and quirky. The shower was surprisingly one of the best things about the place! We also had a delicious pork steak on the outdoor fire that Stuart kindly lit. He was a fantastic host, showing us around the village and attending to our needs. Definitely worth a visit.

Close to Snowdonia, with a lovely view of the Berwyn Mountains, this area is great for relaxing & walking. Meet the rescued animals (horses & more), while wandering around the woods & fields on the farm or explore one of the many fabulous bridlepaths & footpaths straight from the farm. So much beauty right on the doorstep may make you reluctant but if you venture just a little further you will be rewarded with gorgeous lakes, stunning mountains, quaint villages & the longest waterfall in Wales.
large farmhouse style room with basic cooking facilities farmhouse table and comfy sofa seating area
The Berwyn mountains are stunning and little known. There are so many beautiful places nearby as well as the gorgeous Snowdonia national park. Locally the scenery and walking is stunning
  • Functional and well priced self contained flat/annex in the heart of wales. Lovely scenic area

    Bobby2018-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage with great views, The neighbours were very friendly and it was fun for our daughter to meet the animals. Make sure you have directions written down as the sat nav probably won't have a connection, and it could be tricky to find in the dark. Great base for exploring the local area and Snowdonia. Could have been warmer and cleaner on arrival.

Overlooking fields with rescue horses quietly grazing in front of the Berwyn mountains, cozy cabin offers sanctuary & rest in a countryside location. Well behaved pets welcome. Small kitchen/eating area joins living rm, shower rm, dbl b'rm, parking space.
Warm log cabin with double room, kitchen/eating area, large shower room, TV, outside covered veranda with seating and table. Parking space. Lovely hill walking location with rarely trod paths. Please note this is a working horse farm and in a farming area so sheep, cows and horses and dogs all live and work within the area. Owls also hoot at night in the woods. It is dark here in winter as there are no streetlights - advantage if you are star gazing, but you will need a torch if you are going for a walk
Beautiful walking, riding, cycling country. Set in the rarely walked Berwyn mountains. The longest waterfall in Wales. Close to snowdonia national park. Both beautiful lakes Vyrnwy and Bala are a close drive with walking, water sports and good cafés and restaurants. Close to Chester and Shrewsbury with lovely old buildings, theatre, races and shopping. Nearest town is the quaint border town of Oswestry with Iron Age fort, some fantastic eateries and independent shops. Wonderful bridle ways locally and many tracks suitable for mountain biking as well as walkers and riders.
  • We instantly decided to book this cabin once we saw the pictures and the location. The pictures don't do the cabin justice as it is lovely and cosy and everything has been thought of by Mel and Aisla. After finding the cabin we was instantly given a warm welcome and shown around. After unpacking we went to see the horses and was able to find out more information about them and was given to opportunity to help out. The location is perfect and stunning and there is plenty of things to do nearby. Shame about the weather, however we will definitely be back!

  • A wonderful, cosy little cabin with everything you need - the pictures don’t do it justice! Ailsa and Mel were friendly and welcoming and helped us plan some lovely walks around the area. The dogs and horses made the stay even more enjoyable! The location was fantastic - close to some gorgeous waterfalls and Lake Vyrnwy, and not too far from Snowdon. The cabin was clean, well heated, and equipped with all the kitchen supplies we needed. Thank you for such a lovely trip!

  • A lovely secluded cabin. Comfortable and clean. It was exactly what we needed as a quiet weekend break.

  • Ailsa was a fantastic host, really helpful and attentive. The cabin was perfect, in a beautiful location ideally situated for lots of outdoorsy activities. Would highly recommend the cosy cabin, we had an amazing stay and can't wait to return!!

  • The photos don't do justice to how great an area this is and how lovely the cabin is. Cosy, relaxed place, great shower, comfortable bed, lots of room for a couple or friends who don't mind sharing a bed! Super local hills, check out the waterfalls by Lake Vyrnwy if you want to go a little further afield.

    David2017-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Ailsa and Mel were fantastic hosts, welcoming and friendly with great suggestions for the local area. The cabin was cozy and very well equipped, we enjoyed the company of all the animals around and the views across the mountains (or hills) were stunning. We will definitely be coming again and suggesting the lovely cabin to friends and family for a secluded getaway in beautiful surroundings.

Our tastefully decorated double en-suite room is private and separate from the house (above our car port). It's a great bolthole for single travellers, couples or small families who want to enjoy a very rural, relaxing location on the Powys/Shropshire border.
Our studio room is spacious and peaceful with a double bed, seating for two and on-suite shower room. We provide luxurious toiletries, cotton sheets, fluffy towels, hair dryer, Wi-Fi, Sat TV, fridge, hot drink facilities, snacks and plenty of reading material will be found in your room. There is also room for a travel cot or small airbed if you have a little people with you.
We live in a beautiful part of hilly Mid Wales, but other than the sound of wild birds or an occasional tractor driving past it is a very tranquil place, yet only a stones throw away from lots of great local tourist spots and Welshpool, Oswestry & Shrewsbury Town.
  • Our stay with Emma was so lovely. The setting was picturesque and the out house was very clean and comfortable. Emma was a great host and extremely friendly, couldn't recommend more.

    Rachael2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • From the Moment we booked till the Moment we checked out, Emma was welcoming and very helpful. The accommodation was first class with everything needed for a little getaway in the country. Highly recommended to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in the area. Thanks again to you and your family.

    anette2017-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Emma's could not have been more perfect. I wanted a quiet, picturesque getaway for my birthday weekend with a cozy and comfortable place to stay and that's exactly what I got. Both the immaculate accomodation and it's setting are beautiful and we felt totally at home during our stay. Emma and Martin's attention to detail was impressive; from the fruit bowl, teas and coffee to the wide selection of toiletries, they had thought of everything. Emma is so warm and welcoming and her communication made my first Airbnb experience a doddle. The breakfast bap was delicious, cooked to perfection, made with quality ingredients (mouth watering as I write) and brought right up to our door. We fell in love with their 2 dogs too, Meg and Tilly, who are both very friendly. Recalling our stay here has made me miss the place even more. We would 100% stay again and I can not sing the praises of Emma, Martin and their efforts enough. Thank you for everything ❤

A beautiful Welsh farmhouse set in a secluded and tranquil valley, near Llanfyllin. The house has exposed beams throughout. Both bedrooms have new private bathrooms and magnificent views over the surrouding countryside. This listing is for a twin bedroom at £45per person per night. See separate listing for other room.
Situated in the tranquil Nant y meichiaid valley, Tynewydd offers comfortable and welcoming accommodation. There has been a house on this site for many centuries. In Welsh, Tynewydd means new house, but this building dates from at least 1800. The house has been lovingly restored and many of the original features such as large inglenook fireplaces and oak beams (with their carpenters marks) have been retained. Bedrooms have all modern amenities but retain their charm with oak beams, thick stone walls and amazing views. We have two guest rooms, a twin and a double. Both rooms are tastefully furnished with comfy beds and snug duvets and both have ensuite bathrooms. We provide tea making facilities in the room. Our new conservatory, where breakfast is served, doubles as a guest lounge. It has views of the garden on both sides and is a great place to sit whatever the weather. Outside we have a small terrace and seating area. There is also a small sitting room with a log fire for winter months. We offer a traditional farmhouse breakfast using local produce and our own free range eggs. Guests are welcome to wonder around the garden and out over the fields down to the little River Brogan which flows along the field edge. We've spotted a wealth of wildlife on the farm over the years.
The location is peaceful and relaxing in the heart of the Welsh countryside.
  • Countryside delight, a perfect location for a quiet retreat. Audrey and Tom were excellent hosts. The location is in the heart of the countryside; quiet and peaceful. The room was spotless clean and the welcome pack/ file contained notes and information about everything one could need during their stay. Audrey was extremely kind in having to prepare my breakfast in the early hours of the morning as I had to checkout way early. My short stay was thoroughly enjoyable and definitely would go back again.!

  • Our group had a lovely stay at Eddie's place. The house is quirky, the pool/bar room was a fun addition and we very much enjoyed our stay.

    Hari2017-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Eddie's place was great, there were 6 of us coming up from Cardiff, check in was a breeze. The place is absolutely huge, multiple bathrooms, a projector room and bar, TV with sky. Across the street form a pub, great restaurants on the area, spar around the corner, short drive to amazing spots. (Pistyll Rhaeadr was my favourite) It wasn't completely finished but with a little work it will be an absolute gem.

    Guy2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Really spacious house, nice pub over the road and close to a local spar. Eddie was really helpful and friendly guy, and location was great for getting out and seeing the Welsh country side. Great for families or groups of couples looking for a base for walking holidays.

    Ed2017-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Eddies place is a great base to explore the area and the village it is located within is fantastic. Great pubs, shops, and a short drive to lots of attractions. The house is old and a bit wonky and creaky and rough round the edges but we knew that prior to booking and it can only be expected of a property that age. It didnt cause us any problems, and we felt safe and warm and had a great time in what is a very social and large house. Loved our time there and will hopefully be back soon. Thanks Eddie.

    Hannah2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Eddie's place was great as a base for exploring the Welsh countryside. It is huge and has a great bar with pool table and projector that was brilliant for us to have after a long day to relax. Eddie was a great host and even bought us a drink in the pub on the first night. We will definitely be back!

  • We had a lovely stay at the Retreat. Beth was a welcoming and very flexible host and allowed us to stay beyond the stated check out time to give us a bit more flexibility. The Retreat is much larger than the pictures give credit for and the views are fantastic. We will visit again! Thank you Beth!

  • This place is so beautiful, the location is super scenic and the chalet is ideal. Communicating with Beth was so easy, she welcomed us so warmly. When we arrived at the retreat I was so blown away, the place is absolutely stunning and the views are breathtaking! Such a lovely little place for a get away. Beth even left us some bara brith upon check in, my dad enjoyed it so much (he’d never tried it before) Thankyou so much Beth and wish you all the best with the retreat in the future.

Old Cruck Frame house with eco converted barn. Wonderful view of the Tanat Valley from the glassed first floor studio. This is the end part of an old farmhouse. There are other tenants in the main house and out buildings. Powered by the sun and an eco pellet burner. Beautiful grounds and organic veg from the poly tunnel. We try to be as eco friendly as we can, we teach crafts and can tailor activities for anyone interested.
Beautiful oak timber frame with solid oak flooring, built by local artisans. Features include steam bent ash, oak and elm spiral staircase, Elm kitchen worktops. Lay in bed admiring the beautiful Tanat valley bellow, this is one of the best views in the area. The Timber frame has a double glazed gable wall and does not stay warm like a modern house. We can sell you logs at £5 a basket, or you can bring your own wood. We have to charge for wood as it is not covered by the housing co-op so we buy it in ourselves. We will have the heating on all day and the two radiators will be warm but it is open plan area hence the need for a fire. The dining table seats 4 but there is a breakfast bar with two stools.
Penylan is secluded and quiet however it is only a five minute walk to the village, follow the footpath across the fields. Pystyll Rhaedr, the highest waterfall in Wales and one of its seven wonders is just 4 miles up the valley. Lake Vyrnwy is a short drive, and yet we are close to main routes to Merseyside and the Midlands. Llanrhaeadr has three pubs and late opening shops, Dragons craft shop and a new vintage furniture shop. There are many good places to eat in the area. We are 5 miles from Revolution Bike Park, 30 miles from Arthurs Labrynth and Bounce. also on the slopes of The Berywyn Mountains.

There is ample parking in the car park opposite. Whilst the cottage is small it is fully equipped with a microwave, full oven, fridge with ice box, 4 electric rings, TV, DVD and Blu Ray player,iPod dock, iron and hairdryer. Heating is by woodburning stove and electric panel heating. Our raised patio garden has a seating area with views over the rooftops to the hills. It is a vibrant community with local shops (grocery, newsagent and butcher), pubs, hair and beauty salon, fish and chip shop. The highest waterfall in Wales, Pistyll Rhaeadr, is about 4 miles outside the village and has a car park (paid) and cafe at the bottom. There are walks from the top of the waterfall and the views are amazing. There are lovely walks and mountain biking opportunities all around the area. Horseriding and quad bike tours are also available in the area. We are also within an hour of a couple of National Trust properties. For larger shops (Sainsbury's, M&S food, Boots etc) Oswestry is about 20 minutes drive away.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights at the cottage. It is set in beautiful countryside and the local village has lots to recommend it. Cute and cosy accommodation, just what we were looking for. Lots to do locally. A brilliant get away.

  • We had a truly wonderful stay at honeypot cottage. The cottage is even better than the pictures! We wanted a little romantic break for two, with great walks and a lovely little village with good pubs on the door step and honeypot cottage didn't disappoint. The cottage was very clean and sweet. The open fire was the highlight for us especially after a day of walking, curled up in front of the fire with a nice hot chocolate and baileys...... Heaven! There is a lovely terrace up some very steep stairs perfect for having lunch or a glass of wine. The cottage was well equipped with plenty of warm blankets, bedding and towels provided. The village was adorable, the people were so friendly. There is a pub two minutes walk away if that. A couple of minutes down the road there is the Plough that does lovely food, especially the home made chips...... Best pub chips ever!!!! There is a local chip shop that opens from a Wednesday to Sunday and he chips are heaven! The local attractions such as the waterfall and the Lake are breathtaking and a must go see. Only downside is there was no wifi or network, I was really glad to have a break from technology to be honest, but it would have been useful to have Internet to find out about attractions in the area or further a field. The was lots of information leaflets and maps so it was very helpful. We used the phone box to call home to check the children, something I hadn't done for many years lol. I would 100% go back to honeypot cottage and am grateful to it for such a romantic and well needed break away. Thank you Julie for the use of your beautiful home x

  • Our stay at the cottage was lovely, and we were provided with great tips on what to do over the weekend. The local village and pubs are filled with friendly people, and Lake Vyrnwy and Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall are a must; we can't wait to come back and visit them both again.

  • We had a lovely four night stay at Julie's cottage. It was great to escape to Wales and it is so near the Snowdonia national park boarder. There are three local walkable pubs which was great as we could have a drink and not worry about driving. Perfect for a couple seeking a getaway!

    Flora2017-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • A great value cottage that's the perfect get-away from any busy city. A warm fire, comfortable bed and 50 yards from a great pub. Perfect.

  • Honestly cannot fault this place, beautiful cottage in a picturesque village close to pubs, shops, butchers etc. - locals all very welcoming. Within walking distance of wales highest waterfall (would highly recommend seeing). Would also recommend quad biking, only 25 minutes away from the cottage. Is great fun and includes beautiful views. Perfect place for a weekend away!

  • We had a very relaxing stay in this stunning place looking out into beautiful woodland. It is extremely peaceful and nice to be cut off from the world. The place is well built, nice to be in and around, and Rachael and Ben were very friendly and relaxed hosts. A pleasant walk down the hill there is a fantastic river where we saw kingfishers, had a picnic and went swimming. It was also great to have a campfire outside the cabin in the evening listening to owls. Would like to come back for longer next time.

    James2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Rachael and Ben were absolutely lovely hosts; the property was a bit hard to find in the dark, but they left a high vis on the main road to help us get there; Ben greeted us and showed us all the local places we could visit on a map; Rachael helped us book a table at a restaurant as we had no signal; and her son even drove us there and back! The property itself was stunning, and combined with the hospitality it was a perfect weekend getaway. Highly recommend a visit!

    Holly2017-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and secluded location, with lovely walking areas around the cabin and easy driving distances away. Loved getting away from it all and staying in such a well-placed and beautifully made home. We managed to get a little list just using the satnav link on the site, so be sure you check your maps before setting off, but it was totally worth the detour when we got there!

    sally2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ben was really helpful and the place is just so awesome. Loved to have every sip of coffee in the morning sitting on the sofa placed on patio. Would recommend to my friends and I would come back as well. :)

  • Amazing place with doors that open up all around letting you hear the stream below as you lie in bed! So many things to do locally also and Ben and Rachael are super welcoming! Great place for kids to explore nature! Thank you so much! Definitely one to come back to!

  • A really nice, quiet location. Well equipped house that was clean and tidy. Felt like we were living 'off the grid' for two days which made a nice change

    Simon2016-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to stay to unwind or if you have lots of energy. No phone signal or internet so do any research before you come. However a great selection of DVD's. We arrived late to find that Rachel had lite the stove, there were fresh herbs on the windowsills from the garden and fresh flowers on the table. Sat Nav took us straight to the location. Enjoy. We did.

  • The lodge was a good size for the 3 of us and in a great location for visiting parts of Wales such as the waterfall and Bala (railway for little boy!). Nice to have play area outside. We were met by Barry who was very friendly. Thank you for a nice stay.

  • Ideal and picturesque location. The facilities are ideal for young and older families. The hosts were extremely friendly and offered a warm welcome and plenty of information on the area. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • As soon as we arrived at Ben's place we were made to feel welcome. Alex (Ben's friend) kindly offered to meet us at the local pub and waited for us to finish our food before directing us to the cabin. Alex was so friendly and helpful the entire time! The Tanat Valley is stunning and the view from the cabin was remarkable, especially when the sun rose over the hills in the morning. The surrounding land owned is also amazing for walks and taking in the natural sites of the miniature horses, chickens and other farm animals going about their day. The cabin itself was extremely spacious, clean and cosy. It's basically a two bedroom house, with an open plan living room and two good sized bedrooms and bathroom. Additionally, there was a cute balcony that stretched all the way around the cabin, which we could eat on or just sit and watch the stars on at night. Since there is no public light flooding into the Tanat Valley, it's the perfect location to see the Milky Way at night. The local pubs were packed with friendly people and the roads were reasonable for country roads. The beautiful waterfall that brings many people to this area is also only a 15 minute drive from Ben's place. All the utensils needed to cook food are also provided in the cabin and to top it all off Lori (Ben's mum) kindly gave us some fresh eggs the hen had laid that day! We were so happy with our stay and will definitely be back again :) thanks for everything guys!

  • We had a fabulous time at the cottage, the children loved playing on the trampoline and in the pool. The views are stunning and the setting so peaceful, it truly is a perfect get-away to relax. The cabin is quite rustic but has everything you need as the hosts are so helpful if you need any supplies. We will definitely visit again as we would love to explore the area more.

  • Was okay stay. Cleanliness and maintenance were main issues. These issues could easily be rectified but were not. We had a bit of struggle with few of them during our stay. However great views, peace & quite, music collection and internet access.

  • If you have the chance to experience this cosy and comfortable chalet and it's breathtaking views, do so without hesitation. We will definitely be back. PS The Plough Inn is definitely a culinary experience not to be missed, and the waterfall and Lake Vyrnwy are definite must-see locations. And last but not least, our hosts are lovely, kind people whom we are honoured and privileged to have become friends with.

This cottage is 5 minutes walk down the footpath to the village. Llanrhaeadr is a lovely village with good late opening shops and three pubs. Pystyll Rhaeadr Wales highest waterfall is 4 miles up the valley and Lake Vrynwy is 10 miles away. Highly accessible to the main routes into England this getaway offeres a quick retreat from the hectic everyday life.
Look up to the local Waterfall (Pystyll Rhaedr) and its myths. Also we are close to "Revolution Bike Park".

  • A wonderful venue for a rural getaway. Very peaceful and the house has everything you could need. Sue was a wonderful host and even gave us some of the delicious produce from the small holding. It was a short walk into the village to local shops, I'm only sad we had the kids with us and we couldn't try out the pubs!

  • Cute little cottage in a fab location, surrounded by beautiful countryside, a ten min drive to the waterfall, pistyll rhaeadr (did a great ridge walk from there), not too far from Snowdonia, and can walk 10-15 mins down the hill into the village. (If you do want to walk into the village for dinner though, it would be useful to bring a torch/wear a reflective jacket, as its a dark country road.) Had a delicious dinner there at the plough pub, would recommend!

We live next door in the Penybont Inn and moved here in December 2017. The Penybont Inn is a former drovers pub where animals would be safely stabled overnight whilst the drover would enjoy open fires, good beers and a relaxing night. We are the village pub serving the local community, we open from 6pm on weekdays and 3pm on weekends so there is no risk of a disturbed and well deserved lie in!
Perfect for couples or business travellers who are after an escape from chain hotels with the chance of a quiet beer in the evening in front of log fires.
Set in the Tanat Valley with 12 miles of meandering river 50 feet below the pub, a lovely part of the world with unspoilt night skies and plenty of places to explore by foot, car or bus (we have our own bus stop)

Ty Draw is just outside the picturesque village of Llanrhaeadr-Y-Mochnant, home of the tallest waterfall in the UK (240ft) Pistyll Rhaeadr. Our house is great for dinner parties, and has a kitchen diner that can seat ten with ease. We welcome kids, and have a travel cot & high chair. Also pets welcome.
Ty Draw stands in 5 acres of its own land, some of these fields may have livestock grazing when you visit, so please be careful with any pets. There are many good walks starting right from the house, with a footpath actually passing through the grounds. Besides this, there is the waterfall, 4 miles drive or cycle away, which has some great walks. Further afield there is the Evolution bike park Wales for serious riders, Lake Vernwy and Llangollen all within 45 minutes drive.
The house it situated in 5 acres of its own land and is fairly secluded being around a one and a half miles outside of Llanrhaeadr Y Mochnant - the closest village. Llanrhaeadr has several shops, three pubs - two of which serve food. Also a very good chip shop. The next closest town is Llanfyllin which has a wider range of shops and eateries. The butchers in Llanrhaeadr is excellent, their bacon and home made black pudding being particularly outstanding, this is open from Tuesday to Saturday.
  • Together with two friends, my partner and I stayed for 4 nights this Feb. We travelled down on a Friday evening and Milo & Estelle stayed to welcome us to their holiday home. Great & easy communication. The house itself is really easy to find given the coordinates and, if you drive a standard car like us, is an easily accessible place in all vehicles due to no tiny dirt tracks. The home is beautifully clean and both seems large and cosy at the same time- fab. The kitchen is fabulous for cooking as you have a dining room table with 8 chairs and all the possible cooking implements you could need. The aga is just great!! All 4 bedrooms are beautifully presented and the two bathrooms upstairs have amazing roll top style baths! Heaven. The wifi was great if you like to stay connected and we ran 4 phones off of it well. The heating dial downstairs was fab and kept the entire home warm and cosy on a cold few nights (we had snow). Locally there are some lovely places to visit including Bala and the Pistyll waterfall. The local town is very quaint and beautiful and we felt everyone was so friendly and kind at the local pubs. I'd recommend buying and taking logs with you to keep the log burner roaring. There is a washing machine with some tablets and a dishwasher, also with tablets, which is ace when you just want to relax but stay for more than a weekend. Have already recommended the place to mates and family & would happily stay here again! Thanks Milo & Estelle x

  • We have just got back from Milo's place and have had the most brilliant time. The house is set in an incredibly breathtaking part of North Wales with beautiful views all around. Once in the house it felt like a home from home, very warm and cosy but spacious too. The furnishings are very tasteful, the beds extremely comfortable and the linens and towels provided were pristine. The kitchen was equipped to the highest standard with every possible utensil you could need. Milo left milk tea coffee for our arrival which was most welcome. Thank you both, we will definitely be booking again soon!

  • If your looking for a remote country location with fantastic views, wonderful accommodation and time to unwind this is the place for you. We had a fabulous family get together which we rarely get the chance of. Definitely a place for making memories that will last forever.

  • We had a lovely time in this remote farmhouse. It enabled us to visit friends locally as well as explore wider Wales. The farmhouse is gorgeous and has been lovingly restored by Estelle and Miles. You step into the lounge which has a fire and large comfy couches, the perfect place to curl up with a book for a few hours. The kitchen is huge with an Aga and massive dining table, perfect for a family dinner. And the bedrooms are good sizes with comfy big beds and quality bedding. Just perfect and homey. The farmhouse is a located on some slow winding roads, but this gives it a rural and quiet outlook. The village isn't far and there are some wonderful pubs within a short drive. We'd definitely recommend the Hand for a nice meal out and the wynstay arms hotel for a decent home cooked style meal and friendly locals. Thank you for letting us into your home and we hope you have the opportunity to make this your permanent home soon.

  • We came for a cosy weekend over the new year and this was perfect. For our group of 7 there was more than enough space. All the rooms were warm and comfortable and nicely decorated. The huge kitchen had everything we needed and the log burner in the sitting room made this the perfect county retreat. Milo was extremely helpful, recommending taxi firms to pick us up from Gobowen station (we went with John's Taxis and he found the property easily) and was always very quick to respond to any questions. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful farmhouse and would definitely recommend to others. Thank you Milo!

Set two miles from Pistyll Rhaeadr, one of the seven wonders of North Wales with excellent opportunities for walking and cycling within the Berwyn Mountains. The nearby village of Llanrhaeadr YM is a busy centre containing shops and three pubs. The old chapel itself can sleep five. There is a cot available and a high chair. Situated on the lane up to the waterfall, which is a dead end. The property containing the old chapel is called Tawelfan, which translates as 'quiet place'.
The whole of the chapel has been renovated and equipped with all new appliances. There are four single divan beds that can be zipped together to make varies alternatives. There is also a bunk bed style fifth bed, which although ideal for a child, will and has slept an adult. There is lounge seating and main table seating for six people. There is a barbecue area on the decking with table and chairs to seat six. There is also a cot available and a high chair. The chapel has oil fired heating and hot water. There is also a log burner in the lounge for that extra cosy feel. We supply enough logs etc for two/three nights, after that logs can be purchased locally. All towels and bed linen is provided
From the chapel you can walk to the waterfall and beyond into the Berwyn Mountains. There are many walks in the area and none better than down the lane to Llanrhaeadr village. The area is ideal for those wanting to enjoy the wilds of Wales without the crowds. We are lucky to have many species of birds that nest in the area, in particular, Bullfinches, Goldfinches, Spotted Flycatchers, Chiffchaffs, Green Woodpeckers, Nuthatches, and Grey Wagtails to name a few. Possibly the best part is that if you wish you can escape completely, enjoy the garden, perhaps walk to the waterfall, walk to the village, have a week without a vehicle.
  • Beautiful, perfect, home away from home. We love it and the kids loved it, strongly recommended to those wanting to get away from a busy life for a chilled break. The hosts were perfect and couldn't ask for more. 110%

  • Paul's cottage is located within the valleys in a secluded area which is tranquil and surrounded by nature. It was lovely to see a variety of birds from the living room that flocked outside. Despite the wet weather the old chapel was still cosy and it was lovely that there were Chistmas decorations and even a real tree providing a nice festive feel. The place was clean and there were nice added touches of log for the wood burner and local produce. Paul was a genuine character who was friendly. Thanks for hosting us and making the stay a pleasant one.

  • This place is beautiful! A cosy little cottage half way up a secluded lane which leads to a stunning waterfall with adventurous walks and unbelievable views. The cottage is perfectly equipped with everything you could need, modern bathroom and kitchen but still nicely fitting with the historic feel of the building. The walk to the village is a little over a mile and a half, but the friendly pubs and locals are well worth the walk! The garden is like a tropical paradise with a decked area overlooking the river, seating for 6 and a gas bbq, great for a peaceful night listening to the wildlife. Though the lane to the house is single track there are passing places always in viewing distance and the locals are super careful and considerate, I wouldn't hesitate to go back here.

  • My friend and I stayed at the cottage for a weekend cycling trip around the Berwyn Mountains. The cottage was perfect for the trip, cosy, spotless snd great for relaxing in post ride with the wood burning stove raging. The welcome was exceptional with eggs, bread, milk and even a beer supplied. I can't recommend this place enough, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • Our 3rd stay here! We loved every second again! Paul and Ruth are amazing hosts, very friendly and helpful. The chapel is the most peaceful and relaxing place in the world ❤️

    Rachel2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • It is very nice place. Paul and Ruth where amazing hosts. We would definitely go back.

  • We have had the most amazing stay at Sheep Dip Cottage, the location for us was just great and the facilities were all that we needed. We will certainly be back to stay when we visit for the rally next year. Everything we could have asked for and fantastic value for money.

  • Highly recommended! We absolutely loved the stay in the cottage. Calm and secluded location, with amazing view and relaxing atmosphere. We loved the fire place and the sauna. The way the cottage was renovated from the old barn was also very impressive. Would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone. Amazing lake Vyrwy is not far away for a lovely walk. Thank you!

  • I couldnt recommend cyfie farm more. The place was sparkling clean, not a spider in sight which was very surprising! The welcome basket including eggs from the farm was a wonderful touch. The cottage itself is gorgeous, the underfloor heating is to die for! The beds are lovely and comfy and the farm is so quiet! I'd definitely recommend renting the spa/jacuzzi for an hour or two, its well worth the price and has a beautiful view. The dogs that live on the farm are absolutely adorable too and super friendly!

  • We went to Wales on a last minute trip with some friends. Bethan was extremely helpful and accommodating, and allowed us to delay check out after our car got stuck in ice. The property is great for a winter getaway, with a real fire and good lounge area and kitchen facilities. The property was just what we were looking for. I'd recommend it to anyone!

    Luke2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay in the Welsh countryside. Spacious yet cosy and well presented and kitted out. Ideally placed for lots of things and I'd definitely return for another stay. Bethan was a friendly host, providing good directions to the farm and also a bit of food for breakfast.

    Nicholas2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stay in the Welsh countryside - Bethan was very welcoming and left out some useful information for our hike to Snowdon (it's a little far to drive though).

    Suetshan2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We booked last minute but everything was easy and the communication was quick, so we had everything set and ready for our trip. The place was really cosy and we felt at home straight away – we only stayed one night but it was a great evening relaxing in front of the fire, we made our own dinner and then sat watching films with a bottle of wine, time well spent before our big hike up Snowdon the next day. Definitely staying here next time I'm heading to the hills.

    Jason2017-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely few days in this cosy but spacious cottage between Christmas and New Year. Bethan and her family were incredibly welcoming - and absolutely invaluable when the weather turned unexpectedly snowy! Gorgeous location - and the woodburner was perfect on the cold evenings. Thanks for a great stay (and not least for posting Sandra's trainers back to us!).

  • Such a beautiful home in the Welsh countryside!! We really enjoyed our stay, we had a nice walk up to the hotel and pub overlooking Lake Vyrnwy, then came home to a make a nice fire with wood and kindling provided by our wonderful host, Bethan. The space was warm and cozy with a nice shared living room/kitchen, washer/dryer and 2 bathrooms. The bedrooms were comfortable and warm with a nice view. We loved our visit here, definitely would recommend. Thanks!

  • We had an amazing stay at the Old Granary - Such a lovely Barn conversion. So much space, comfy and very clean! Amazing collection of films and books for any down time. Great location also, very picturesque, a great escape from the city - the only sound around outside was the local sheep. Marcus was a great host, with speedy communication both before and during the stay. :) Will definitely keep in mind for future trips.

    Richard2017-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • This property was splendid, beautiful and exactly what we needed. The location was stunning and me and.l my group loved the look of the house. Marcus was very helpful and I recommend him highly.

    Hazel2017-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Had a brilliant time, lovely house and perfect for our group weekend away.

    Becky2017-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • It's a beautiful barn in a lovely, quiet location. All the rooms were clean and everything we could need was provided, including kitchen utensils, games, and a great selection of books and DVDs. Check in was easy, and Marcus replied promptly to any issues. Unfortunately while we were there the boiler broke down and we were without heating and hot water for the majority of our stay. Marcus got an electrician out to the property who managed to get the backup working, although this also kept breaking down and the instructions we received were vague, meaning we were unable to reset it by ourselves. We were however offered a partial refund for the inconvenience. Despite this we still had a lovely holiday and packed in a lot whilst we were there. Tips for other guests: *If you want to climb Snowdon you will need to leave around 6am as it takes 2 hours to get to the car park and these are full by 8:30ish no matter the time of year. *If you are following the directions on AirBnB it will describe a phone box. This is no longer there, which meant a few of of group found it difficult to find. *The local pub has closed down so you will need to drive to get to anywhere, there is nothing within walking distance! *If you need logs the best ones we found were from B&M in Welshpool (20 mins drive away). *If you're looking for something adventurous to do we would recommend the Zipworld Caverns at the slate quarry near Snowdon. It is a 90 minute drive away and costs £60 per person but was an amazing experience.

    Josh2017-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really well appointed cottage with all the home furnishings and kitchen appliances. Very good library, and sleeping areas are divided into 3 areas making it great for families who want to share the house. Beautiful setting, and the owner was very responsive and helpful.

    Tosca-Louise2017-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. We had a really wonderful weekend. Nevertheless the WiFi is practically useless. We had issues with the heating which we had no forewarning about and had to contact the host. I think we should have known about this ahead of arrival though this was eventually sorted. I received no information about where to find the key or check out time and had to chase this myself. In the house there we were unable to locate any information about how to work the heating, access the WiFi, work the cooker etc. There seems to be a lack of very basic communication. All in all, it is truly a stunning place to stay, just needs some attention to detail to get 5 stars and us wanting to return.

    Joshua2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful holiday home! We went in a big group with a baby and found the house to be spacious, comfortable and elegant within a beautiful setting. Ideal if you want to spend time relaxing at home. Marcus was very courteous and responded to all communication promptly. And do follow his detailed directions, it got us to the house very easily. Highly recommend the place!

  • Diane is a lovely host and will truly make you feel at home away from home. Whatever you do, don't miss the breakfast and even the packed lunch if you get offered one! We went for both and they were delicious. Remember to buy everything you want from nearby towns as the village is about 5 miles away from shops although Diane will do her best to accommodate. We only spent one evening but the house, garden and scenery made us wish we stayed longer. If you're going on a sunny day, save some time at the end of your day for the house's lovely gardens. All in all, a wonderful experience that definitely made it to our top 5 Airbnb accommodations.

  • A beautiful cozy home where you are made to feel like one of the family. Somewhat secluded but ideal for our needs - of visiting Lake Vrnwy for the day. Diane and her family are such lovely and welcoming hosts. We requested a cooked meal when we arrived and enjoyed a lovely homecooked roast dinner and dessert together with the family - a lovely warming experience. The evening flowed with great conversation. An extra bed was made up for my son and we had use of a private shower room. The place is really clean and well kept and you can see that Diane loves her home and is proud of it. And it is a beautiful home! Breakfast was a more private affair and exceptional. All in all a really lovely experience and i so enjoyed your company Diane. The kids thank you for their parting gifts which we all enjoyed on our onwards journey. Regards to all. Hugs, Sunita xx
