The area is outstandingly beautiful. Mountains, lochs, wildlife include seals, pine martins, otters, grey geese and eagles, and much more. There are opportunities to fish, walk, climb, or just relax.
  • John was very helpful and greeted us at the shop. We greatly appreciated his hospitality! Also the breakfast was top notch and ponies were adorable :)

    Amanda2016-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a nice experience at the pod. The view on the loch in the morning was charming, although the weather was bad. Warmth welcome from Izzy and family.

    Pascal2016-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here. The cabin was clean, cosy with beautiful views of the loch. Izumi and Joe were very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

    Lizzie2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic stay! Comfortable pods with good heating and a warm shower. You wake up to the most breathtaking view (especially if sunny!). Didn't get a chance to meet Izzy, but John was lovely and recommended somewhere to grab dinner. Would absolutely stay again!

    Andrew2015-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate and the view was spectacular! It really was glorified camping with a separate toilet and shower. I enjoyed the pods very much. They were comfortable, clean, and cozy. The shop was convenient for any supplies, and it was such a beautiful part of Scotland to enjoy! I would definitely return.

    Gabrielle2015-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • The pod was well equipped, warm and clean. Stunning views and both John and Rhys ensured we were well looked after!

    Nicola2015-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • John and Reece's pods have everything one might expect and more when staying in a pod. The pod was very clean, both John and Reece were very accommodating (and allowed me to drop my stuff off even though I was ahead of checkin time) and gave me good tips on trails to explore around Clovullin. I'd definitely stay there again.

All the other rooms lead from here which includes the two bedrooms, the bathroom and utility room with everything needed for laundry and cleaning. There is a back door which takes you from the utility room out to the pebbled, backyard space with BBQ, a covered table and seating area ideal for picnics and laundry airer. On the west coast you will experience the tranquility of our most spectacular coastline as well as true highland hospitality.
  • The "Old Bakery" is a complete renewed, traditional house, that has been furnished and decorated on a very modern and high-end level. It is amazing! Wifi and a domestic fireplace are perfect and the shower is just what you want to have (almost Wellness and Spa Style). Carol is a great host and very relaxed. The house is perfectly situated to many spots you want to go (Malaig, Skye, Fort William and of course to THE Isles. Be there! Buchen!

  • Great location for a lovely little place to stay. Highly recommend

    Mark2017-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Old Bakery is an immaculate cottage in the stunning village of Arisaig. It couldn't be in a more convenient location, 5 minutes from the train station and 5 minutes to the village and the ferry to Eigg, Muck and Rum as well as being near some stunning beaches, forests and hills for walking and exploring. The cottage is spacious, light and airy with a contemporary interior and full of luxurious touches such as underfloor heating in the bathroom, aromatic shower gels and the bed is one of the most comfortable I have every slept in! Carol, the host, was friendly and helpful and lives next door so is on hand for any advice you may need. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a relaxing place to get away from it all!

    Nadia2017-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Arisaig is a beautiful wee village and the old bakery is a fantastic base- everything you could want- well equipped kitchen, fantastic shower and very comfy beds. Could not recommend it enough thank you!

    Marion2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gem of a place! Perfectly located. Very cosy, peaceful and quiet. Everything from the quality bedding, shower, woodburning stove (although no need for us to use) and the cleanliness of the Old Bakery was perfect!

    Alex2017-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is terrific? Really well designed and appointed renovation. The location is perfect for all the ferry trips out of Mallaig and it is a lovely peaceful setting with great walks bs a good pub for dinner

    Anne2017-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • The old bakery is a beautiful home in a fabulous location in the village. It's only a short walk to the local shop and restaurants and the area around Arisaig is spectacular....beaches galore, some of the most stunning in Scotland. Carol was a great host, very welcoming and helpful. The house had everything we needed and we all slept well in the comfortable beds in the peace and quiet. Carol extended a special welcome to our French guests in very good French! I would highly recommend a stay in the old bakery.

    Gillian2017-05-29T00:00:00Z

  • Undine was a wonderful host and place was excellent. A perfect launch pad for hiking in Glencoe and driving to spots like kinlochleven or oban. Lovely warm fire, incredible views, stroll along the loch at the end of the garden. We cooked in a lot, kitchen is really well prepared to cope for cooling big meals. Great spot, will defo be back. Thanks Undine.

    Greg2016-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed the stay. House was clean, comfortable well stocked. Location on the loch was perfect and very beautiful

    Rob2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing three days staying in Undine's cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and has all the amenities and home comforts you could wish for. The location is perfect and the view from the cottage was stunning. We loved waking up in the morning and having a coffee on the patio overlooking the Loch and heading for a morning walk along the beach. Undine had a lovely welcome book which gave us all of the info about the area (shops, restaurants, etc) and also gave us some tips about what to do in the area which made our stay even better. She was most welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely stay at the cottage again any time we're back in Scotland and recommend Undine's cottage to anyone looking for an ideal place to stay in an ideal location.

    Anisa2016-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • This house is wonderful: cosy, confortable, very clean, very nice view, close to dramatic lanscapes, etc. Undine is a very nice host too. Do not hesitate to rent this house!

    karine2016-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Ardhru! The place had everything we could ever need on our trip and the location was stunning. Undine was very friendly and made us feel at home right away! Thanks a lot!

    Pim2016-04-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at this beautiful cottage over the Christmas and Hogmanay period which was absolutely perfect. The house itself is on the shores of Loch Linnhe with the most amazing views straight across the loch. The cottage is beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly want and more. Very warm and cosy with the addition of a log burner adding to the ambience. Undine was so lovely, meeting us at the property to welcome us and we had a lovely thoughtful welcome pack waiting for us. The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas adding to our overall enjoyment of our time there. We were joined by friends over the Hogmanay period who were equally impressed with the accommodation. The cottage is ideally placed for access to Fort William, Glencoe and surrounding areas. A small local shop, hotel and restaurant are all within walking distance. We were all very sad to leave but already looking forward to returning in the future. This is the perfect property for a perfect relaxing break.

    June2017-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Undine was a fabulous host! We could've talk to her all day. She had so many wonderful suggestions for us and recommendations for things to do. The location was ideal, and so relaxing. We woke up to the birds singing in the morning and the view of the loch was just amazing. It was so quiet and we slept so well. Highly recommended.

    Pat2017-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • Undine's cottage is unreal. Very spacious and light in an incredible area, close to Glencoe and Fort William (Ben Nevis), tucked away on the shores of a beautiful Loch. It was our home for three full days on our trip through Scotland and it was the absolute perfect way to end our trip. Only mistake was that we didn't stay longer.

  • Don't be put off by the slightly utilitarian exterior to this cottage, it is in a stunning location (the views are just wow!) and is beautifully appointed inside. The cottage is clean and superbly comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Undine's communication was great and I really feel that she has thought very carefully about offering guests the best possible experience during their stay. I can't recommend the cottage highly enough! Thanks Undine.

  • Very cosy house in a beautiful location next to the lake with amazing view.

    Desislava2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • My three friends and I spent 8 days in Scotland on a whirlwind trip- 2 days in Edinburgh and 3 in the Highlands and 2 in Linlithgow. We had no idea where to stay as a base for the Highlands so we chose Undine's cottage. It was perfect. It sits on a beautiful beach with mountains. Unfortunately, we spent each day driving to other locations. Wish now that we had more time to stay put. It was a great central location, though. The first day we drove to Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle and Inverness then back to the cottage. We had a wonderful dinner in Ballachulish at Laroch. The next day we traveled to the majestic Isle of Skye (with sunny weather!) and then back at night. The drives were all scenic and breathtaking. The day we left, we drove though Glencoe and past Loch Lomond on our way to Glasgow. The cottage was immaculate and so so cozy. Everything was thoughtfully and beautifully decorated, so homey and comfortable. I really wanted to just curl up by the fire. Everything seemed newly renovated. The beds and bedding were comfortable. There were four of us, but room for five. There were movies to watch, places to go on walks, all the amenities of a kitchen and like-new bathroom. If the weather wasn't so wet, there were chairs and a table on the back patio. The living room sliding glass door looked outside and made the space bright and cheerful. We didn't have time to walk through town, but it looked quaint like most villages we passed through. It was easily accessible to Glencoe for hiking which I hope to do on my next trip to Scotland. I am definitely putting Undine's cottage on my list to save and would happily return!

  • The cottage is in a perfect location; remote enough to feel away from it all but close enough to Fort William to get the essentials. And the garden leading down to the Loch is fantastic! The cottage itself is very cosy with a lovely log fire. Would thoroughly recommend!

  • Sarahs house is beautifully located with the garden right at a loch – stunning view. The room was nice and tidy. Best about the place is still Sarah, who's friendliness in person. Though having troubles with the water in the house at that time she was so caring, stood up early to make breakfast for us, because we left in the morning and had lots of great hints for us.

    Maximilian2017-08-16T00:00:00Z

The house is located in a stunning area, beautiful views from the house and the garden. The room is large and well furnish, very relaxing! The bathroom is shared but Sarah makes sure that everything goes well for everybody! The breakfast is also great. If you need a peaceful and relaxing place, you can definitely book Sarah's home!

  • Absolutely wonderful. It is right on the loch and even better than the photos. Our host Sarah was so welcoming. The Loch Leven Hotel close by had delicious food. Highly recommend

  • Sarah is such a lovely host and her house is a dream place to be. The house is located in a scenery location with breathtaking views of the loch and mountains. It is so tastefully decorated and is spotless clean in every corner. There is a lot attention to details. Sarah is very helpful and very pleasant to chat with. The place exceeds our expectation in every aspect. I would highly recommend it to any others.

  • We loved our one night stay at Sarah's house, the location is absolutely gorgeous! It's right on the river and there's a little rocky beach with a view of the sunset at dusk. The area is secluded and quiet, which was perfect for us, as we wanted to enjoy the natural beauty of the mountains and lakes. Sarah is so sweet and made us feel right at home. She provides a delicious breakfast and even booked us a dinner up the road at a hotel (ask if she can do this for you, too; the meal was one of the best we had on our trip around Scotland). We hope to return to Scotland and to Sarah's place in the future!

    Mae2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a must visit. As described, it is in a stunning location but the thing that makes it is Sarah and her superb hosting. After a long cold day on our bikes, Sarah was so welcoming and did everything she could to make our stay more comfortable. The room (we were in tree view) was very nice and the continental breakfast was lovely and plentiful. Sarah also suggested and booked the Loch Leven hotel for dinner for us which we'd also thoroughly recommend. Overall a brilliant experience, thank you!

    Steven2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is extremely friendly and welcoming. Her home is very beautiful and you have a great view on the mountains from her home. I had a great time at hers. The house is decorated very nicely and with passion and is extremely clean. The breakfast was great, as it had a lot of choices. I would absolutely recommend staying there!

  • Sarah is a realy thougfull host, we had a realy good rest in her home. The place in front of the loch is amasing, the breakfest was also generous, so book in sarah's house or you want to be more than ready for the next day ! :-)

  • A great AirB&B in a beautiful location overlooking the loch. Accommodation spotless in a beautiful home with great hosts. Most relaxing.

    Joseph2017-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The B&B is located on the shore of the loch, which is absolutely stunning. The room is so warm and comfortable. Sarah is very friendly and kind. If you're around the area, I can only recommend to stay at her accomodation!

    Lorenzo2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We only spent one night in Sarah's home, but it was very nice be there. She was lovely and very helpful. We didn't have any problems to do a late check-in and she was very welcome. The room was big, clean and peaceful. The bed is very very good. We could use the kitchen to prepare some cold food and she offered to us tea, coffee, chocolate and a lot of biscuits. The breakfast was very very good, and she prepared to us before the normal time. It was plenty of food and delicious. The location was very good, and following the instructions is easy to find. There are a lot of parking for cars. We absolutely recommend Sarah's place because you will feel like at home!!

  • The Old Byre is a lovely barn conversion, beautifully decorated with great facilities. The area is stunning with breath-taking scenery . Violet and Iain are great hosts.

    Jacqueline2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • There is no doubt that this gem of a place is one of the most amazing places you will visit. The cottage is perfect for 2 people with some of the most amazing views, beautiful lakes and mountains are a few minutes away. For us the best part of this rental were Voilet, Iain and Sarah. They were amazing hosts and most welcoming and gracious. I highly recommend this lovely place not only to enjoy the heavenly views but also meet this lovely family.

    asim2017-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic beautifully appointed little cottage with wonderful views over Loch Shiel. It has everything you could want and much more including unique pieces of oak furniture hand-crafted by Iain. Violet is the most friendly welcoming host who goes out of her way to ensure your stay is perfect. Very romantic little spot and great place to recharge the batteries.

    Angela2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • Violet and Iain are so hospitable and nice - thanks again! We loved their special place and will come again. Beautiful view at the lake and grazing sheep. Just relaxing :)

  • What an amazing place to stay. The Old Byre is absolutely beautiful and in a lovely location. Violet and Iain were so friendly and welcoming, and we were very sad to leave. It's a great place to have a quiet break and to explore Ardnamurchan and the surrounding areas. Can't recommend highly enough. Thanks so much Violet and Iain!

    Jo2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning location and property, and fantastic hosts in Violet and Iain! When viewing the location on a map it looks remote, but the local village has an excellent store covering all of the essentials that could be needed, and Violet and Iain have done an amazing job of ensuring the cottage is exceptionally clean and well appointed. The cottage itself is much bigger than it seems from the photos, and has amazing views of the loch and surrounding countryside- it's easily accessed but mobile signal is patchy in the area so load travel directions at a stopover such as Fort William. extremely comprehensive information was provided beforehand, making this easy to do! There was also plenty of information in the cottage for local attractions and activities. It's the perfect location for a quiet getaway, but also within easy reach of key attractions and sight such as Ardnamurchan Point, Fort William and the ferry link to Isle of Mull. Overall, a great few days in a great location with great hosts- couldn't recommend highly enough!

    Greg2017-09-08T00:00:00Z

There are many nice places to eat nearby, including the Loch Leven Hotel, the Onich Hotel, the Isles of Glencoe Hotel, the Ballachulish Hotel and the Laroch restaurant and bar in Ballachulish, whose kitchen is run by Michelin Star Chef, Allan Donald. For seafood, the Loch Leven Seafood Café is highly recommended. As the Outdoor Capital of the UK, the region of Lochaber is fantastic for all kinds of outdoor activities including hiking, sailing, skiing, ice-climbing and cycling. The ski resorts of Glencoe and the Nevis ranges are about 25 minutes' drive away and are open all year round for skiers and hikers. Boat trips to visit the islands and spot wildlife depart from Loch Leven and Loch Linnhe. A thirty mile radius from the cottage takes in Ben Nevis, the mountains of Glencoe, the world's largest indoor ice-climbing wall, the Seal Sanctuary near Oban, Glenfinnan where Bonnie Prince Charlie gathered the clans in 1745 and the famous Harry Potter viaduct .... to name but a few.
  • Chris and Sarah are wonderful hosts and make you feel welcomed and at home. Their place has an unreal view and the bedroom and bathroom are so spacious! The garden is beautiful!! The little kitchen was amazing and better than we thought! There was freshly made bread, eggs and a note how to make scrambled eggs in the microwave, fruit, yogurt, cereal, jams and all the needed cutlery! This was our favorite place that we stayed on our trip!

  • Clean, modern, friendly b&b with easy access to Ben Nevis, Glencoe and many beautiful walks. Chris was really lovely and welcoming. The kitchen isn't large enough for proper cooking, but has a microwave, toaster, kettle, so fine for breakfasts and tea breaks.

    Willa2017-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Chris and Sarah are fantastic hosts - responsive and clear communication, accommodating of our ever-changing check in and check out times and so welcoming without ever being intrustive. We felt at home straight away and the studio has everything you could need. It feels a lot larger than the photos suggest, the bed is incredibly comfortable, the shower is fantastic, fast wifi, TV in room, well equipped (microwave, crockery, mini fridge, tea/coffee etc) mini kitchen and everything is exceptionally clean. The studio feels very private and is the perfect space to relax and take in the beautiful views. We wouldn't hesitate to return!

  • We had a fantastic experience at this listing. Chris was super welcoming, friendly, and helpful in recommending nearby restaurants and things to see. He made us feel right at home (and in the morning cooked a delicious breakfast!). We loved speaking to him about the history of the house and the nearby area. The room itself had *everything* we would need, with the router right next to the bed for fast internet, and a mini-fridge with two types of milk (as one of us is vegan). The view from the room was absolutely stunning -- a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding nature. (Glencoe valley is nearby, definitely worth spending a half or full day just exploring!) I sincerely wish I could have stayed longer, and if I ever come back to Scotland I'll definitely come back here. Thank you!

  • Chris and Sarah gave us a warm welcome and showed us around their place which was easy to find and a 5 minute walk to the local pub. Very organized room and a very pleasant hosts! Thanks having us, would definately stay again

  • Chris and Sarah are a wonderful host with a wonderful home. We were astounded when we got to their place, it's like a house we've always dreamed of : gorgeous house with a stunning view. Our room has many perks and facilities, and the view from our room's window is just amazing. Chris and Sarah are very welcoming, warm, and helpful. Definitely one of our best airbnb experience. Very recommended.

  • What a fantastic Airbnb! Chris and Sarah were friendly and gracious hosts. The location was a piece of heaven on earth. The accommodations were SO clean and the breakfast bar beautifully stocked...loved the homemade bread. Had the best nights sleep on what was obviously a premium mattress. The only thing that could have made it better was if Chris and Sarah could have controlled the Scottish weather . Thank you so very much -Yvonne & Grant

  • Our stay at Tigh Sgoile was fantastic! Sarah and Chris welcomed us warmly and made our stay in Glencoe even more memorable. They were wonderful hosts and went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met. Sarah offered us some sandwiches to take on our hike, which she didn't need to, and Chris made a delicious Scottish porridge with almond milk, just the ingredients I needed for my dairy-free diet. They made us feel at home. The room is very clean and charming with a gorgeous view of the lake. It's a very quiet and peaceful place to get a good rest. We highly recommend their B&B and would come back most definitely next time when we're in Scotland.

  • Caroline's place and the Gypsy Caravan is perfect. The room is cosy and warm, and we love the campfire next to the caravan. The toilet is clean, and the small kitchen has everything we need. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants a cute, romantic and adventurous stay

    Alan2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Caroline is a friendly and welcoming host. Caroline knows the area and gave us some good tips. The gypsy caravan is amazing and the view is too. The location is prefect, easy access to the coast, Fort William, Glencoe and the A82.

    Amy2017-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful getaway, a real escape back to nature. This is one of those airbnbs you just wish you’d come across in the next location you visit. Fully equip horse box converted kitchen and well heated beautiful wooden romany wagon, a real treat to experience. Caroline is a friendly host with knowledge of local places to eat or visit, she is approachable and will check in to see if you have everything you need then leave you be. Fresh water is supplied and she will top you up throughout your stay. Even though it rained a lot, the fire pit is sheltered by trees so this didn’t dampen our stay. If you want to return to the wild or a simple life then this is perfect. There is electricity in the wagon so you can still be connected to the real world if you so wish!

    kirsty2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect! Can't say enough good things about how incredible it was to have a cosy night in a gypsy caravan in a beautiful peaceful part of the world. Loved every part of our stay, Caroline and Matt have thought of everything to make it perfect.

    Milli2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun stay! The caravan offered a unique experience, but was really comfortable and cozy. Caroline ensured we had everything we needed, and we loved our night there. The views were beautiful, too!

    Kelly2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • We wanted something different and different was delivered is spades. First time we'd slept in a cosy and authentic gypsy caravan, first time we'd had an open horse box for a kitchen and first time we'd had a flannel bath. The scenery is stunning as are the natural attractions on the doorstep. Caroline made us feel welcome. She provided us with daily treats such as shortbread, fruit and a welcome home lite fire. It was off the beaten track, in a stunning location and really quirky and fun this place to be.

The Gatehouse is a semi-detached 2 bedroom cottage in the stunning village of Glenfinnan. The cottage has had extensive renovation this year and is now available for those seeking a holiday in Scotland. Guests have easy walking distance to two excellent restaurants; the railway station with its museum and diner and is close by to the NTS Glenfinnan monument visitor centre. The cottage provides an excellent base to explore the west coast, the islands and Skye.
The cottage is well equipped with fridge-freezer, microwave, washer and dryer in the kitchen. There is a bathroom with shower and a wet room downstairs. The two bedrooms (with one double & two adult single beds) are upstairs. In the living room, we will leave you with the means to enjoy an open fire for cosy evenings. There is a smart TV and we have a licence so you can watch BBC i-Player guilt free. There is a place to securely store bikes if needed. The garden area is being reconstructed so not yet suitable for young children. We can be flexible on check in and out times depending on whether new guests are expected. If you have any special requests - please just ask!
Glenfinnan is very special. Famous for the Jacobite rising in 1745 and the Glenfinnan Viaduct built in 1901 by Sir Robert McAlpine - its stunning scenery is also showcased in the Harry Potter films. The Jacobite steam train passes through from end of April to October on its journey from Fort William to Mallaig, stopping at Glenfinnan station.
  • The gatehouse is very tastefully decorated with a fantastic kitchen for self catering. Fiona is really helpful and accommodating. We only had a short stay but would have loved more. Everything was perfect. Thanks Fiona.

  • Great place, in a great location! Fiona and Alistair are fantastic hosts, with lots of helpful local suggestions - and if you're bagging Munros, this place has the kind of shower's that will keep you happy even in the most horizontal of horizontal rain..! I thoroughly recommend.

  • Great place to stay. Clean and awesome views. Very close to the Glenfinnon Viaduct. A nice hike and then you can get some great pictures. Nothing bad to say about this place.

  • We couldn't find a vacant room anywhere in Isle of Skey and chose to stay in Glenfinnan which was about 2 hours' drive away. But it was fine - we had a good time. We really love Fiona's house. Nicely furnished, perfectly clean and comfortable for a family of three. When our GPS had trouble finding the place, Fiona and his husband were kind enough to pull themselves out of bed to reach us late at night. Their hospitality and helpfulness are part of our good memories to bring all the way back to Shanghai, China. Hopefully next time, we may explore more in Glenfinnan.

  • We could only stay for one night in Arisaig. It is an incredibly picturesque village. The apartment has a great view over the bay and we very much enjoyed our stay. We only met Fiona's husband Michael and their kids (and their cute dog). We felt very safe and welcome at their place. He gave us very good advice where to go for a hike and for dinner. The apartment is big, clean, and comfortable. We would definitely like to stay there again in the future!

Didn't get to see the hosts all that much as I was there for work but Fiona was very nice when I met her. All in all an excellent choice of accommodation and would happily book again.

  • Just returned from a long weekend stay at Zoes. The house is as described and well a equipped and has everything you could need. We found it spotless and welcoming, a real home from home. It is situated in a quiet courtyard five minutes walk from the beach used in Local Hero (there is even a copy in the house for those unfamiliar with this to watch!). It is an ideal place to spend time or to use as a base to explore the area and it's many unique places and beaches.

The surrounding countryside was beautiful and the nearby beaches were stunning. I would thoroughly recommend this stay to anyone and we would definitely return.

  • Loved staying here, and the clear night sky! It was stunning! Also, there is a beach you can walk to (across the road to the right), and if you have sledges, you can go down the sand dunes! It was great fun. Location is great for Morar too! Kitchen is very well equipped, lovely log fire. The heaters will produce heat, just give them some time :) Just one note, the summer house is really a summer house, although it was sunny, we couldn't use it in January. But there are outside seats and area, so you can use that :)

Otterburn Bed and Breakfast is ideally situated for visitors seeking the tranquillity of panoramic views over majestic Loch Sunart. We have one ground floor double bedroom with stunning loch views; what better way to wake up in the morning? If you're lucky, our local otter may even make an appearance! The room is very comfortably furnished in a contemporary style with oak furniture, king-size bed and spacious ensuite bathroom.
We are located at the very edge of the peaceful village of Strontian. Despite being located in a remote area, essential facilities are nearby in the form of a choice of great eating places, a well-stocked village shop and Post Office, that also sells petrol, all within walking distance.
  • Superb location, with incredible views of the loch from the room. Nice guests lounge that works as a second space and breakfast room (which was awesome and with a lot of options). Pete's amazing & we're sure he can infect you with his passion about the nature that surrounds his place. We wish we had the time to see more.. (oh yeah only advice: the best way to get there is probably by car, otherwise you'll soon need a shuttle to the ferry and back pete, haha ) anyway, I can't give more reasons why we absolutely recommend staying there because then no one will believe us anymore so see for yourselfs...!

  • Liza's family home is lovely and the view from the room was gorgeous, my only regreat was not staying for longer. Pictures were spot on and Liza provided some lovely treats and a continental brekie. I received a warm welcome, the info pack provided was great and I'm keen to come back to experience the Rockhopper sea kayaking. Thanks Lisa for the dinner advice, my seafood super in Fort Wiliam was super tasty.

  • The room was really nice and comfy, everything was new and clean and we felt really good. The room was located at the back of the house, top flor, which was great and we had a really private space for ourselves with a nice balcony (too bad it was raining and we couldn't use it) and separated entrance. Liza was really nice host and she helped us with some advices for trips and restaurants. She provided us some stuff for a nice breakfast. We would recommend this place to every couple!

    Tadeja2017-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • We couldn't recommend Lizas place more!!! The landscape is beautiful, the room is very lovely, clean, modern and with an own entrance. That mix makes it a perfect fit for anyone and the hosts are such wonderful people. We would return at any time.

  • We arrived late and the host was waiting for us. Very clean house and good breakfast .The scenery around the house is very beautiful. The house is very near to Gelinfennan only fifteen minutes for driving. After second days of ill health, the hostess kindly sent me medicine. What nice hosts they are! Thanks a lot!

  • Liza was very friendly and welcoming us throughout out stay. The room was super clean, well looked after and felt fresh, bright and comfy. It also had its own entrance which was nice so we could go in and out as we pleased without disturbing the rest of the house. Tea, coffee, pastries, bread, porridge and cereals were all on offer for us which was great. The room looks out onto the hills and woodlands at the back of the house providing lovely views. Liza also provided a booklet for the room on details of local restaurants and local walks. This provided us with a fantastic walk through a gorge and up to a huge waterfall which we would have missed out on otherwise. Everything was really good and would love to stay again. Couldn't fault anything during this stay!

I have one double room with comfortable king size bed and Ensuite shower room. The room is plainly decorated, with prints of my daughter, Laura Kingswood, on the wall. The bedroom is on the ground floor at the rear of the house, overlooking the back garden and hills and is separate from the rest of the house, apart from the lounge, which is opposite and is where you will enjoy a self-serve Continental breakfast, looking out to sea and the islands. Breakfast is taken in the lounge. Apart from breakfast time the lounge is for use of me and my family. I like to welcome guests personally but, if I am unable to, arrangements can be made for you to access a key. I have lived in Arisaig for 27 years and love to share my knowledge of the area. The house is down a short track leading off the coast road, a little less than a mile from the village and a pleasant walk. The closest beach is a 15 minute or so walk and there are many other beaches within a short driving distance. You could be treated to one of our astonishingly beautiful sunsets over the sea towards the Small Isles and the southern tip of the Isle of Skye. The village has a general store with Post Office and cashpoint machine, the Arisaig Hotel, which serves delicious meals and has regular live music (Friday nights are traditional music session nights and there is usually a session on Sunday afternoons. See their website for details of visiting bands and dates this year). Next to the hotel are Arisaig Sea Kayak Centre and Arisaig Archery. Meals are also served at The Old Library Lodge and Rhu cafe, as well as teas and coffees at the Arisaig Marine cafe. From the Marina you can take a day trip to the Small Isles - Eigg, Rum, Canna and Muck - a great day out with time on the island of your choice, plus the chance of spotting seals, dolphin or even minke whale. The Land, Sea and Island centre is a mine of local history information and has a small gift shop. Traigh (pronounced Try) golf course is a mile further along the coast road. Five miles away, at the end of the road, is the fishing port of Mallaig. Here there are a range of shops and the CalMac ferry terminal, with ferries going to the island and Skye. There is a range of shops and a Leisure Centre with swimming pool and Fitness Suite. There are train stations at Arisaig and Mallaig and, in the season, the Jacobite steam train, running from Fort William to Mallaig and back, makes a nice day out. There are local walks of all sorts, and, of course, the beaches!
  • Great modern place big room and bathroom to yourself. Good free wifi and even though out in country it's a very short drive ( less than 5 min) to a couple of very reasonably priced pubs. The view from the breakfast table was awesome . Shelia was very laid back and welcoming

    Tom2017-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome house! Don't hesitate, sheila is an amazing host

    Julien2017-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The room is in a beautiful and cozy house with very elegant furniture. The bathroom is really impressive too! There is also a selection of DVDs and books. Sheila offers a very rich and healthy breakfast, served in a room with an astonishing view of the sea. Very satisfied of my choice!

    Lorenzo2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila's home is impeccable and it was very kind of her friend Mike to provide pickup from the train station. Lovely place and nearby town to relax for a day or 2 on your journey, wish I'd had more time for kayaking.

    Michael2017-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila could not have been sweeter and her home is positively lovely. We could have stayed and enjoyed the view for days, but unfortunately had a quick visit. Beautiful gardens, lovely artwork and a quiet room with a bathroom was ideal for us after long days traveling and hiking. Sheila prepared us homemade bread and eggs from her chickens. All around a very pleasant stay that exceeded our expectations. We hope to come back soon! Thank you Sheila!

    Deirdre2017-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • This modern house has everything a visitor could ask for. It is in a superb setting overlooking the Hebrides, but Sheila's home itself is perfectly-equipped with sub-floor heating, the most comfortable of beds, a modern shower and outside, a fine little vegetable garden. Sheila advised me to dine at the Arisaig Hotel, a recommendation I fully endorse - the meal was delicious, good value and served promptly by cheerful staff. I highly recommend a stay at Sgiath House.

    Alex2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place in a stunning setting! Very soft sheets, great shower and lovely breakfast with views to die for! Also totally recommend the Arisaig hotel for evening meal - delicious!

  • The Laga Lodge is a remote, clean, beautiful and spacious accommodation well suited for small families and groups. The accommodation is well maintained and equipped. It comes with 2 fridges and a freezer and has all the facilities one needs for cooking and personal hygiene, including two separate bathrooms equipped with a shower and toilet. The view from the window in the living room is amazing and the friendly owners, located next door, are happy to answer your questions and provide you with local information on restaurants, activities and infrastructure. A few points to keep in mind: the nearest grocery store and gas station are located about 10-20 miles away from the Lodge and the rocky steps leading down to the lodge are quite steep so the lodge might be less well suited for young children and people with walking difficulties, although it might also be possible to approach the Lodge from the Beach at the front.

    Jasper2017-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really wonderful weekend. Nicely equipped house. The views were spectacular. The house was lovely and warm. The plentiful games and jigsaw were well used after plenty of long walks. Thankyou

  • Laga Lodge is a fantastic location on the edge of Loch Sunart. Beautiful views and great walks nearby to be had, Glenborrodale Nature Reserve is close by with the Ardnamurcan Distillery next door. The Lodge itself is snug and well appointed with a great large living room/kitchen/dining area for relaxing in. Allison and Andy were warm and kind in hosting us and provided help where needed - as well as Andy's offers to join in on boat trips for wildlife watching and more. You feel like you're at the centre of a lot of potential activities which you can take or leave, enjoying the peace, beauty and isolation of Ardnamurcan all the while.

Schoolhouse cottage has gorgeous views of the sea and mountains and is wonderfully located for exploring the highlands. Here you can enjoy the flexibility of a whole cottage, but for short stays if that suits you best.
The cottage is light, bright and cozy and overlooks Loch Linnhe and the mountains of Glencoe and Ballachulish. The spacious living room has a vaulted ceiling and leads on to an open plan kitchen and dining area. The bedroom is small, but has a king-size bed with a memory foam mattress and fitted wardrobes. There is also a double-size sofa bed in the living room. The whole cottage is decorated in restful, neutral colours. Located on the main route through the western highlands, connecting Glencoe to Mallaig, Skye and the small isles, the cottage is on the A82, 10 miles south of Fort William and between the villages of Onich and North Ballachulish. Surrounding the cottage are beautiful gardens with an outdoor seating area. Across the road, a path leads on to a secluded, shingle beach with views eastwards towards Glencoe and westwards towards the Isle of Mull. There is free Wi-Fi, along with a TV/DVD player and a Bluetooth music system. The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine, and basics such as organic sunflower oil, fairtrade sugar, salt and pepper are also provided. In addition, you will find complimentary organic ground coffee, fairtrade instant coffee, fairtrade and organic tea, as well as Scottish shortbread. Perfect as a base for exploring the Highlands and touring on to Skye and the northern isles, the cottage offers the flexibility of short stays for two or more nights, self-catering. It sleeps up to four people and is suitable for couples, families and friends. We can provide a cot and high chair for wee ones. One dog is usually welcome at no additional charge but please check with us before booking if you intend to bring a dog. On your arrival, you will find complimentary, organic, ground coffee, tea, milk and Scottish shortbread. We look forward to welcoming you as our guests.
There are many nice places to eat nearby, including the Loch Leven Hotel and the Onich Hotel, both of which are dog-friendly, and the Laroch restaurant and bar in Ballachulish, whose kitchen is run by Michelin Star Chef, Allan Donald.
  • Chris and Sarah were absolutely amazing hosts! Very easy to communicate with. Everything was exactly as described. The Schoolhouse Cottage is a true gem among AirBnbs, and feels like a home away from home. You truly feel like family when you stay here. Loved it and would highly recommend. And the best for last- the view CANNOT be beat in all of Glencoe. Absolutely stunning view of the Loch and hills. You wake up and look out into a Highlands paradise. Cannot wait to come back!

    Hayley2017-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time for the two days we were there. The view from the School House is amazing and we loved watching how the scenic outlook changed throughout the day. Such a beautiful relaxing time away. We enjoyed exploring the area and we had two fabulous evening meals nearby. We would highly recommend everything about our stay. Thanks again we will always treasure our time spent at the School House.

    Lynne & Walter2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was our best experience on AirBnb. Had an amazing stay at Sarah and Chris' cottage. The views out of the living room are breathtaking. The cottage is very comfortable with plenty of essential cookware. Co-op Food is very close for buying food items. The cottage sits right off the A82, so it's easily accessible and excellent location for visiting Glencoe, Fort William and others. The road is not noisy overnight so nothing to worry about there. Sarah and Chris were excellent hosts. Greeting us on arrival and explaining the apartment. They are available for anything you might need. The hot water went out for the kitchen and bathroom sinks, Sarah and Chris took care of it the same day before we returned. Could not say enough good things about the cottage or the hosts. You will love staying here, just like us. We will definitely return, the sooner the better.

    Adam2016-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Chris were very warm, welcoming and flexible hosts. As we were travelling with an infant, we appreciated all of these qualities hugely. The property (listed cottage with adjacent house where hosts reside) is located on the road to the Corran ferry, so the traffic is not insignificant, but is actually not noticeable. The optional breakfast supplies were perfect. Great views, very comfortable cottage. We would love to come back for a more relaxed family holiday than the one-night stopover that we spent on this occasion.

    Adam2016-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • A spacious and comfortable place with an amazing view of the Loch (the pictures do not do it justice!). A home away from home and a great base for exploring the Highlands.

    Catherine2017-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the living room, kitchen, and bedroom is unbelievable. The mountains were spectacular to look at as the sun set. The house was comfortable and well kept. We found great seafood nearby for dinner and a lot of hiking and biking options are very close by.

    Brian2017-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic stay at the Schoolhouse Cottage! Four of us used this as a pit stop on the way to the Isle of Skye a few weeks ago and couldn't have picked a better place to stay, the cottage has amazing views and Sarah was a great host, who made us feel very welcome. The cottage was spotless and we would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone staying in Onich.

    Joe2016-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was perfect. Sarah and Chris are very kind host. They welcomed us and provided all the information we need. The house was also very warm and cozy packed with everything we need on holiday. We are definitely going back next year.

  • The rooms are new and very clean. The TV in the living room is so small, I didn't even know they still made those. You don't have to watch TV though, the view from the window is super! The host made coffee in the morning, and had great sightseeing tips.

    Niek2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • The house is in a great location to visit Glen Coe, Loch Leven & surroundings, and some good walking trails even start from right behind the house. Ashley was a very friendly & helpful host and happy to help advise us on places to go or directions in the area. He was also very flexible regarding our arrival time. The accommodation is spacious, clean, very comfortable and guests have their own floor to themselves. Breakfast was great. Highly recommended! At the end of your day call in to one of the wonderful pubs or restaurants serving the best local produce and seafood - many with live Scottish music.
  • Lovely clean warm cabin

  • The cabin has a great location, near one of the beautiful Scottish lochs. There are loads of activities to do nearby. The cabin was clean, tidy and the decoration is very good and fresh. The log fire is very good to keep warm. Harriet and Alasdair were very nice and great hosts.

  • Modern cabin with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Ideal for a family or group wanting to explore the mountains around Glencoe. During my stay, WiFi was not yet operational in the cabin but the owners were very helpful and let me use the WiFi from their home.

  • What an amazing find! Such a lovely cabin with everything you would need for a weekend in Scotland! The pictures don't do it justice and we had a wonderful time hiking during the day and both cooking in the cabin and going out for dinner at a nearby restaurant at night. Thanks again for a brilliant stay Harriet!

  • Great location, trail walks and loch side only a couple of minutes walk away. On arrival cabin was beautifully clean. No washing machine meant we had nowhere to wash clothes from our walks but this was a relatively small price to pay. We found the double bed mattress to be very hard so a mattress topper would fix that. No local store due to location but one only a five to ten minutes drive away. Limited as to what you can buy but essentials are there. Having a wood stove added a very nice touch. You can buy wood from the host, bring your own or collect from the wood around as we did. Harriet was very easy to deal with and both her and her husband are pleasant people. Overall we enjoyed our stay which was hassle free and we would happily return.

    Adam2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Due to personal circumstances we had to cancel our visit to this beautiful place last minute (the day beforehand) understandably there is a no-refund policy for last minute cancellations like this but Harriet was so very kind to understand our situation and decided to give us most of the money back! Such a great gesture (we didn't even ask for it and of course she could have rented it out to others if she knew we weren't coming...) that made our bad situation a little better. I will go back there someday and thank this very friendly host personally and check out this amazing area in Scotland...

  • My partner and I stayed in the holly cabin for two nights in September. The cabin was spotless, well-equipped and cosy without feeling small. Everything felt like It was brand new! It was easy to locate and a great location for exploring Glencoe and surrounds. We would highly recommend this property and hope to be back one day.

Perfect base for your holiday to the highland either you are looking for a relaxing break in the country or mountain biking hiking touring the highlands we are just a short drive from lots of activities , also great location for day trips to Inverness , mull , Skye etc Please note price per week is average and varies through season
  • What an absolute delight to walk into this spacious, beautifully decorated home. The only reason we had a hard time finding it is because we stopped for dinner and we didn't get there until after dark But she talked us through it on the phone :) This location is perfect for long walks/hikes, exploring Ft William and day trips to Isle of Skye and Inverness and everything in between :) She was always very prompt answering our questions and left a great information booklet of some of the more scenic walks. The weather was a little bit colder and we were always snug and warm. Beds were comfy and the kitchen had everything you could look for! We truly enjoyed our stay and will be back if we come this way again :)

  • Claire had great reviews but we had some problems with our stay. We never saw or spoke with her. If you book with her I recommend you arrange a time for someone to let you in and make sure she has fresh food and is planning breakfast, and get wifi information and a contact if the toilet is not working so you won't have to camp out like we did.

  • The six nights in Inchree have been a pleasure for us! Claire was very friendly, always open for a chat and gave us great suggestions of what to do etc. The room was even better than described, being nicely furnished and decorated and very clean. The breakfast was very good (toast, cereals, yogurt, fresh fruits, ..). We will definitely try to stay at Claire's house again when we come back to the Highlands and definitely recommend her as a great airbnb-host!

    Dominik2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • The room was relatively modern and nicely decorated. However it seems like it wasn't cleaned at all. The WiFi worked flawlessly, however the TV stopped working mid-programme (might be an antenna problem). The toilet flush and shower handles very very hard to handle. Very basic breakfast.

    Andreas2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely warm welcome from Claire who even offered to do washing and pick things up from the shops for us. The room is spacious and comfortable, with everything you need. The big breakfasts set us up for some great walks to the nearby waterfalls and to Ben Nevis and Glencoe which are just a short drive from Inchree.

Heron Bay is a spacious log cabin on the shores of Loch Linnhe, with 2 large ensuite bathrooms with power showers. A fully equipped kitchen, and a log burner in the living room. A large deck with seating and bbq is at the front of the property with wonderful views over the hills of Ardgour. Each bedroom has double patio doors out to the deck. There are walk in wardrobes in each bedroom. Bedlinen, towels, electricity and heating is included.
Romatic getaways. The beds are super king size.
There are 2 log cabins which are secluded on a family croft.
  • We stayed in Heron Bay for a couple of nights and absolutely loved it. The interior of the lodge is even better than the photos suggest with breathtaking views over the Loch. We enjoyed walking down to the Loch shores to do some wildlife spotting too. We were spoilt with glorious sunny weather despite staying at the end of March and could sit out on the decking to watch the sunset. It really was idyllic. Ideal base for exploring the surrounding area - we enjoyed a day trip on the Corran ferry over to Ardnamurchan and made it to the lighthouse. Thank you to Sharyn for facilitating our wonderful stay and we appreciated all of the personal touches which made the place even more welcoming. Would highly recommend and will be back!

  • Baron Bay was better that I expected even knowing that the place had very high standards. The view of the lake and the mountains in front of the house is absolutely stunning. I couldn't ask for anything better. I would recommend to anyone, whatever sort of holidays they are looking for. It was perfect!

  • Great cabin for two couples or a family. Although it was raining when we were there and didn't fully get to enjoy it, there's a lovely big deck overlooking the lake. The showers are also exceptional. The water was coming out a little brown so we weren't sure about the quality of water but there were supermarkets a close drive away to buy some bottled water instead.

Near Skye and easy for Loch Ness, Oban, Inverness and Fort William. Our lovely old Highland cottage is perfect for couples, adventurers, and families. Stay for a few days. There's lots to do: http://www.road-to-the-isles.org.uk For colder months, we have log fires - join in with the sawing and wood chopping if you wish! Fishing and crab potting is good fun all year round, and gives a glimpse of what lies 'beneath'... 我们不会说中国话,但欢迎您来苏格兰高地
A 150 year old cottage, in the woods, with glimpses across the loch 1/4 mile away, through the trees.
Otters, pine martens, basking sharks, whales, eagles, buzzards, ravens, woodpeckers owls, cuckoos, frogs, badgers, foxes... Mountains, islands, sea. Castles, ancient woodland. Seafood, venison, highland beef and lamb. A pub two miles away through the woodland. Three restaurants nearby. Loch Ness and the Isle of Skye are close by, and there are ferries to Eigg and Rum most days. Britain's remotest pub, in Knoydart, is a short, beautiful ferry ride or kayak trip away from Mallaig (8 miles away).
  • We loved Eagle Cottage! It was the cleanest Airbnb experience we have had, the sheets smelled amazing. The cottage is beautifully designed and the goodies Joanne provided were delicious. We would love to go back for a longer stay.

    Corey & Brendan Greer2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We were made feel very welcome from the moment we arrived at Eagle Cottage. Our host struck the perfect balance of being helpful and giving us space to enjoy the beautifully renovated, extremely cosy cottage. The beds were really comfortable and breakfast was delicious. We will certainly be back.

    Jamie2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Eagle Cottage was absolutely charming and lovely. Joanne are her adorable little son Charlie were warm, kind, and very welcoming. Located in a quiet forest nook before you reach the main town of Arisaig, the cottage is the first home that you come to and is attached to the main home where Jo and her family live. It's a beautiful cottage with a traditional Scottish harl style exterior, clean lines. The interior is decorated in a charming, simple, and welcoming style. My wife and I both felt like the stress that we had been carrying from the build up to the wedding melted away as soon as we walked into the cottage. Before we ventured into town for dinner, we stepped out of the cottage and enjoyed an amazing costal walk along the Arisaig shoreline, where we saw an ENTIRE family of deer, a golden Scottish sunset, and the most epic views of craggy cliffs. The bed was one of the most comfortable I'd slept on and after soaking in a huge bathtub with steaming hot water up to our chins under the scottish stars that we could see from the skylight, we drifted off to a blissful sleep. In the morning we were met with a lovely breakfast spread that had been stocked in the fridge before we arrived by Jo. The cottage is as described and more. The beautiful floors are heated and everything from the bread tin to the piano is warm and inviting. I've used AirBnB only once before and it was not a very good experience. Our previous host was obtrusive and cold. We were very leery about trying AirBnB again, especially during my honeymoon, however the experience that we had at the Eagle Cottage will be the reason that we will continue to try AirBnB. Jo and family were incredible hosts - around if needed but provided privacy. Thank you Jo and family for being incredible hosts. We will certainly be back!

    Jessica2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • All I can say is how much we want to come back. It was an almost perfect experience. Jo welcomed us and made us feel at home straight away. The cottage is spacious, traditional, beautiful and warm and surprisingly cozy due to the underfloor heating. You are also allowed to have a wood fire. There was a range of breakfast food provided including delicious fresh bread, salmon, cheese, yogurt, muesli, granola etc- really not your average airbnb by far. The house itself is situated in wilderness a couple of miles outside Arisaig, you can wander through the forest either to the village to visit the local pub or down to the nearby loch. Thanks for a great time.

    Peter2016-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Eagle Cottage is a beautiful, rustic home. It's very clean and spacious. Although lacking cooking facilities, the host provided a generous breakfast. There's also a kettle, toaster, and plenty of cutlery and crockery. The location is wonderful, with a short walk out to the sea and some stunning views. It's also well situated to use the Mallaig ferry terminal. If you're planning on taking the ferry to Skye, we'd recommend that you book in advance, as the ferries were fully booked for us -- even in September. All in all, this was the perfect base-camp to explore the beauties of the West coast from. We'd definitely recommend it, and hope to come again.

    Ryan2016-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Jo's. The cottage is lovely, all renovated with underfloor heating and three bathrooms. The fridge was packed with everything for breakfast, we found comfy beds and soft towels. The walk to the village takes about an hour and it is a great adventure for a day. Kids had a lots of fun exploring the forest around and playing the piano. Jo did everything to make our stay easier and more comfortable, from booking a taxi, give us the bus times and even pick us up on arrival at the train station. Highly recommended. Thanks Jo!

Ben Vheir Cottage is situated in the West Highlands of Scotland near Glencoe and enjoys stunning views of Loch Linnhe and the mountains.  The cottage adjoins our main house, and is the part of the building furthest from the road and nearest to the water making it very quiet and peaceful.  The convenient lochside setting provides for both open views and easy access to spectacular countryside.

From Tigh Marall, looking to the West, the seascape is both open and dramatic with the mountains of Ardgour. Fort William is the outdoor capital of the UK with sailing, kayaking, mountain sports; hiking, skiing, and world class mountain biking course. Our location is also perfect for those who appreciate beautiful scenery and a more relaxed way of life such as photography and painting. Tigh Marall is a contemporary warm, bright and welcoming home from home while you stay with us.
The room is spacious with great views to mountains and sea; all the way to the Island of Mull. In the common area of the library, there are lots of contemporary novels for your use. You can book swap if you like, take away a new read and leave an old favourite. Play chess on a classical set gifted from Kazakhstan, or use the binoculars for taking in the scenery. If you just want to sit down and relax there is a very comfortable lazy boy chair in which to sit and read your good book.
  • Very, very nice! Cudos to Margaret for the perfect setup - every detail was well thought out. And the view - priceless.

  • Margaret and her husband are AirBnB GEMS! My husband and I spent two days relaxing in their home and it was awesome! Their home is situated in a beautiful area of Scotland- far enough away from cities to enjoy the peace and quiet, but close enough to Glencoe and Fort Williams to see the tourist attractions. The room was super clean, comfortable, and the views of the water were beautiful! The bonus sitting room was perfect for relaxing. We didn't even mind the rain during our stay because we could hang out and enjoy our room! Breakfast was amazing and brought up to our room in a cute basket each morning. (My favorite part!) Yogurt, fruit, granola, toast/bagels/croissants, meats, cheeses...Margaret even cut our grapes in half! To top it off, Margaret and her husband were so sweet and helpful! They gave us tips, maps, restaurant suggestions...they even helped me find my family's nearby forgotten castle and offered to print our ferry tickets. We were sad to leave them! I would definitely recommend staying here as it is better than any hotel we've been to!

  • Nice quiet spot with easy access to hiking near fort william. We did the steall falls running trail and it was lovely.

    Zeke2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • The view from the cottage is absolutely stunning. The cottage itself is quite nicely outfitted, furnishing are modern (the cottage itself is quite new) but has a nice rustic feel about it. The 2 bathrooms were quite a highlight -- quite luxurious large soaker bathtubs with separate showers. The place overall is perfect for a family of 4 or two couples, I'd say. The location is secluded (about 10 minutes outside of Fort William), but near enough to comfortably head out for dinner. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to relax a bit in peace with family, while still being able to easily get out and about. Note: Having a car is pretty much a must to stay here. It is not within walking distance of any facilities.
