Holiday Rentals in Lower Brailes

Just booked in Lower Brailes

Not a country cottage so no low ceilings, dark rooms and draughts..just well insulated and thoughtfully designed cabin with large windows to take advantage of the view. Definitely not glamping either- full facilities but slightly quirky in style. Not located on a picture postcard street, just in large garden at end of quiet cul de sac of bungalows so no struggle to find parking as ample space in own courtyard. Priced so I can afford to include all the little extras that guests value.
Visiting on own or as a couple then enjoy Super King bed but easily splits into twins. Space in bedroom for cot and single folding bed or double inflatable mattress available for use in Sitting Room. Might be a bit cosy but great if only for a night or two. I have furnished in shabby chic style but with quality items all repurposed to create comfortable but functional environment. Love this quote left in visitor book "You close the door behind you and you've entered a secluded little retro world" You want a bit of peace and quiet well that is relative as most of my guests are escaping town life so find it very tranquil and scarcely notice road that runs at back of property. Others notice at first but soon realise view is more of a distraction especially when dining alfresco or enjoying the stars due to village Dark Sky status. Do remind guests that will need a torch when walking back from excellent Red Lion as no street lights. Having family members with disabilities I am aware of problems finding suitable accommodation so have designed with that in mind - not the complete set up but Octogenarian wheelchair bound friend stayed and he and wife found perfect for their needs. No sumptuous cottage garden - I'm the gardener so have to be realstic. Managed to save a few mature trees during build process in 2015 and much new planting that will be magnificent in couple of years but in meantime my natural border does include grasses and thistles as after all a weed is only a plant in wrong place and bees and butterflies love. Also have bird feeders and nesting box just outside bedroom window and blue tits particuarly love. Have thought about privacy carefully as their are occupants in main property but layout has been thought through to ensure everyone has own space without infringement on others enjoyment. Have had usual trials with IT but now have cabled connection to router and reliable service. Though most of my guests seem to really enjoy 'turning phones off' and listening to late Aunt's eclectic vinyl collection on multi media player. Similarly there is a TV but not dominant plasma screen just one discreetly tucked into corner. Have had guests for long term stays so always happy to discuss options if you need a base while working away or if between house sales.
Little Bulpits (field for Bulls) was Old English field name of field before development and hence unusual name for this property. Long Compton is a charming Cotswold Village located in Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and excellent walking area (MacMillan Way). On A3400 with Oxford and Stratford on Avon both 20 miles. The Rollright Stones are located on edge of parish. There is a well stocked village shop 5 minutes walk away and popular village pub 10 minutes walk. Local towns are Chipping Norton, Moreton in Marsh and Shipston on Stour. Whichford Pottery, Cotswold Distillery and Hook Norton Brewery located in neighbouring villages. Oxford, Stratford upon Avon, Chipping Campden, Stow on the Wold, Daylesford Farm Shop, Blenheim Palace and Compton Verney Art Gallery are both within half an hours drive
  • We used Little Bullpits as a base whilst attending Wilderness Festival - it was just what we needed, a charming, really well-equipped, comfy and clean space. Elizabeth was easy to communicate with in advance of, and during our stay. The surrounding area is very pretty. It was very warm when we stayed so we kept windows open and there was some road noise at night, but nothing that my ear plugs couldn't block out!

    Emma2016-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Nice welcoming host, accommodation ok, had all the amenities. Not as clean as I would have hoped. Combi-player was a nice touch though.

    Danny2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Elisabeth was there waiting for us when we arrived. She provided fresh fruits every we day we stayed in the little bulpit. After the other locations we stayed we appreciated the privacy of the location very much.

  • Little Bulpits was the perfect countryside retreat. My boyfriend and I had an extremely enjoyable weekend chilling and exploring the Cotswold countryside. Long Compton is very picturesque village with a great local pub and cute local shop too. Elizabeth was a great host and picked us up and dropped us to the train station too! She made us feel very welcome. The place itself is fab, great size, and deco. We even sat outside and watched the stars- i managed to spot three shooting stars! Overall, an absolutely fantastic time, would definitely recommend it.

    Ashley2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our second visit so far, everything was as lovely as we remember. Plan to be visiting very soon

    Steven2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly recommend Elizabeth's accommodation. Very well presented and a lovely village location.

    Martin2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place and great host. Only downside was lack of WiFi reception in the property (you had to step outside the door to get it , at which point i would note it was super fast). Would stay again.

    Milo2016-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth was a brilliant and flexible host. I couldn’t write a bad word about our stay. Clean, quaint and exactly what we needed. Thank you.

  • Peter has a lovely house set in a large and very attractive garden. He was very welcoming and helpful and we enjoyed staying for two nights in the large apartment with two bedrooms, which was ample for the three of us. The village is very attractive with an ancient church and good pub with a choice of ales and good food.

    Priscilla2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's hospitality was wonderful and the environment surrounding his home is ideal for wonderful country walks, cycling and general relaxation.

    Emma2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's cottage is in a beautiful part of the Cotswolds. The accommodation within the cottage is simple and self-contained, with all basics provided plus a few additional touches including breakfast items and Ordnance Survey maps. There is also access to the beautifully maintained garden which is a lovely place to sit and have breakfast. Note, there is a microwave but no other cooking facilities. Nearby there are plenty of walks and the villages are very picturesque, plus there are a couple of pubs which do excellent food - the George Inn (lunch and dinner served) and the Gate (dinner only). It's also a short drive from Stratford upon Avon. In short - an excellent base from which to explore what the region has to offer. Peter himself was very friendly and flexible. I would recommend his place for a short stay in a lovely part of the Cotswolds.

    Danni2017-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Peter's place is very accurate in how he describes it. The place is very nice, clean, and comfortable. The scenery around the house is beautiful and has several excellent walking trails surrounding the area which I thouroully enjoyed. If you looking for a nice place in the countryside then I recommend this place. Peter was also a great and friendly host!

Stunning Cotswolds, 18th century farmhouse, flagstones, roaring fires, beautiful views, very comfortable ensuite double bedded room. Delicious full English breakfast with local produce sets you up for the perfect day
Mine Hill House enjoys stunning views over the Cotswolds and sits in a magical position with far ranging vistas.
  • Edward and Hester are wonderful hosts and made us feel very welcome in their charming farmhouse home. The house is stunning - very isolated with sweeping views, a real hidden gem. Inside it is cosy and warm with open fires and a very traditional, British feel. Our bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. We were welcomed with tea and homemade cakes, and all the food was fabulous. As we had small children, we opted for a home-cooked meal at the farm house after they were in bed and it was delicious. Hester is a fabulous cook and we had the use of a private dining room so it felt like a real 5 star experience! I could not recommend this place more highly.

  • We loved our time in the Cotswolds. The house is on a beautiful property. Edward, Hester & the whole family were extremely welcoming & helpful. They gave us great advice for dinner & helped us to book it. We wished we could have stayed longer. Our daughter loved her cubby house room, which was delightful. It was a real treat for her with the animals also.

Mill Cottage is next to the running water of the Mill Race with views over beautiful North Cotswolds. It is cosy and warm, and ideally located to arrange a Cotswold holiday or trip to Stratford on Avon. We are under an hour from Cheltenham. Walkers and cyclers are very well served, and there are many lovely country pubs to visit locally. There is also a tennis court which may be used by prior arrangement. The property is edge of village, and within walking distance of a very friendly pub.
Mill Cottage, is adjacent to the Mill House at the edge of the village in the rural North Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is close to the market towns of Shipston-on-Stour, Chipping Norton, Moreton-in-Marsh and Stow-on-the-Wold. Stratford-on-Avon and Woodstock are only 25 minutes away and Oxford, Cheltenham, Cirencester and Birmingham are all under an hour away. It is a lovely time of year to visit the local National Trust Houses and Gardens.
Feldon Valley Golf Club (OX15 5BB) a 6230 yard Par 71 golf course is less than 5 minutes away The Cotswolds Distillery is in our village and a tour and tasting is not to be missed. (booking advised) For Archers fans, the writers had the villages of Cherington and Stourton in mind when writing about Ambridge, and there are still some characters living here that could be straight out of central casting!
  • A beautiful cottage located in stunning countryside. It makes a perfect weekend escape. The cottage is clean, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Lots of country walks right outside the front door and great pubs and cafes to eat in locally. It is definitely worth a visit.

You will find this remote barn conversion with simple furnishings, offers tranquility, countryside views, wonderful wildlife and a private garden. It's an excellent base for visiting the Cotswolds, Cheltenham, Stratford upon Avon, Warwick or Silverstone. Curl up in front of a wood burner and enjoy a break from technology or step outside the garden onto the bridleway to explore. We welcome all visitors and well behaved dogs who want to venture down our bumpy track and meet our children and geese!
Mill Holm has a spacious hall area with hanging space for walking and cycling gear. You can enter the house via the kitchen or through the front door into the hallway. The stairs lead up from this hall. The sitting room is cosy with pretty views across the fields. The furnishing is simple but comfortable and there is a TV which you can use to watch DVDs (but there’s no TV reception for terrestrial or satellite TV). The futon sofa unfolds into a bed and you can snuggle down in the glow of the wood burner if you wish. The evening sun shines into the room, making it a great place to relax after a day exploring on foot, by bike or by car. There is a night storage heater and the wood burner for cooler evenings and we provide wood at £3/basket. If you aren't sure how to light the fire, we're on hand to help. The kitchen is well equipped with good quality pans and cooking utensils. If there's anything you haven't got, please just ask us. There is a table in the kitchen which unfolds to seat 4. If the Aga is running and you want to give it a go, you'll find an Aga Cookbook in the cupboard and we're very happy to share some tips to get you started. If Aga cooking sounds scary, you can simply use the electric cooker, slow cooker or microwave. (Please don't be disappointed if you find the Aga is not lit during the warmer months. It makes the house too hot and we want you to be as comfortable as possible.) Upstairs, there is a bright and airy bedroom with a comfortable double bed. There is plenty of storage space for your clothes. We love the views up the bridle way from the window. The second bedroom contains two single beds. There is limited storage in the room but guests can use the cupboard on the landing which has hanging space and a shelf. The bathroom is upstairs. There are steps between the bedrooms and the bathroom but we have night lights to help you find your way in the dark. Your garden is fenced with post-and-rail and there is a combination of flower beds, lawn and patio. There is a table and chairs on the patio and a barbecue too. The gravelled area provides plenty of parking for 2 or 3 cars and there is a gate if you need it. You might hear owls at night and see bats flying around when the weather is warmer. Hares, deer, badgers and foxes all pass through the garden and there is a large wild bird population. Although this is a simple property, it is very appealing to people who like to get away and relax in a quiet and natural spot. There is very little light pollution so it's a wonderful place for star gazing. You might also like to contact Chipping Norton Amateur Astronomy Group to get details of their organised events - and we've left a torch in the house for you to use during your stay!
There are lots of places to explore locally on foot, by bike or car. We recommend that you bring wellies or walking boots so you can make the most of your walks. From Mill Holm, you can walk along the bridle way to Whichford where you will find the Straw Kitchen, Whichford Pottery and the Norman Knight pub. If you follow the bridleway in the other direction, you can cross the fields to Brailes where you’ll find The Gate and The George pubs, as well as a butcher, a baker and numerous small shops. Slightly further afield, you can walk, cycle or drive to Hook Norton (with a large village shop, 3 pubs and a brewery), the Cherington Arms at Cherington and the Wykham Arms at Sibford Gower. There are lots more places to eat and drink in the area, including a variety of restaurants and takeaways in Shipston on Stour, Chipping Norton and Banbury. There are several local farm shops and farmers' markets in Deddington, Chipping Norton, Banbury and Kingham too. Shipston on Stour and Chipping Norton have a range of interesting and independent shops. Shipston hosts music proms in the last 2 weeks of June and an annual French market in October. Chipping Norton is home to a Literary Festival (ChipLit) which will run in late September 2017 in conjunction with Yimby Fest. Banbury Museum has a lot to offer if you are interested in local history and canal history. There are theatres in Chipping Norton and Banbury, as well as Oxford, Stratford upon Avon and Warwick Arts Centre. Shipston on Stour has an indoor swimming pool and Chipping Norton and Banbury both have lidos which open during the warmer months. We are on the northern edge of the Cotswolds so there are plenty of beautiful walks and circular routes. We will be pleased to let you know some of our favourites. Whichford Woods is close by and you can pick up the Macmillan Way from there. The nearby Rollright Stones site was created during the Neolithic and Bronze Age. Other places of interest include Batsford Arboretum and Falconry, galleries and antiques in Morton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold and Chipping Norton, Chastleton House, Upton House, Warwick Castle, Silverstone, the British Motor Museum (heritage vehicles) at Gaydon, Coventry Motor Museum, Cheltenham and Leamington Spa and Blenheim Palace. We will be pleased to make recommendations and provide leaflets to help you plan your stay.
  • What a wonderful stay we had. Kate and her lovely friendly family could not have done more to make our stay relaxed and comfortable. It was such an enjoyable place to relax in and we enjoyed our first time using an Aga and relaxing by the wood burner! Really hope to visit again. Thanks so much :)

There are views of fields from all the windows, and its in a very beautiful location. There were some very thoughtful touches about the place. The Artist's Studio is a self contained wing of The Manor House, Sibford Gower a picturesque village on the edge of the Cotswolds. It has it's own private entrance and is surrounded by beautiful countryside, walking trails and quaint pubs. This double height space is light and bright, whilst full of history and charm. The perfect getaway for those who want to escape, or an ideal base from which to explore the Cotswolds, Warwick, Stratford on Avon, Oxford, Bicester Village or Blenheim Palace.
We are in the heart of the village with a choice of walks from the front door, the award winning Wykham Arms pub directly opposite, a village shop for any extras you may need, and a choice of National Trust properties to explore.
  • A stunning place in a gorgeous location. The Artist's studio is a totally private annexe to Alison's beautiful house. It is in a beautiful, peaceful area perfectly situated opposite a "proper" country pub which serves excellent food. All amenities you could want are provided by Alison (including a pint of milk and tea bags on arrival!) and the studio is very spacious and well-equipped.

  • Lovely place, beautiful area, you won't be disappointed! Pip.

    Pip2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Alison was a terrific host, on hand if needs be, but provided everything so that was never the case (we were also met on arrival with homemade chocolate chip cookies). The Artists Studio is simply beautiful, you immediately feel at peace there, whilst being surrounded by beautiful countryside. The pictures are better in real life, and everything to make you feel welcome and at home is supplied. We couldn't recommend this enough for a place to relax and unwind. I'd recommend in a heartbeat. Thank you Alison.

  • We had an absolutely wonderful weekend at the artists studio. Alison and Mike were the perfect hosts, welcoming and available without being intrusive. We were lucky to have good weather, and the Manors surrounding gardens were made available for us also and we enjoyed walking around them. The studio itself is just fabulous. Beyond anything we were expecting. Truly, we had such a relaxing and peaceful time. The pub across the road is also highly recommended with a varied menu and friendly staff. Thank you Alison and Mike for everything we will look forward to coming again soon!

Beautiful village location in north Oxfordshire - self contained one bedroom annexe with en suite shower room, sitting room and kitchenette. Off-road parking, wifi and large garden. Village pub (5 mins walk) , post office & small shop.
Lovely self-contained space in quiet contained grounds.
Small, quiet rural village. Great for walking, cycling, exploring the Cotswolds & Shakespeare country.
  • Judy and Peter were welcoming and attentive hosts. The cosy semi-detached annexe has everything we could possibly need for a short escape from the city, the house is in a middle of a huge, beautiful garden, and the village and its surroundings are as picturesque as England can get. We had a lovely stay. Thanks!

    Jan2016-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely relaxing stay at Judy's place. The annex is private, quiet, cosy and comfortable—perfect for a couple. The bed was comfortable, the shower hot, and the kitchen was fine for making simple meals. The Wifi could be a little slow but was fine for basic browsing and could stream video at times. The village is very cute with lots of footpaths into the countryside nearby. A lovely countryside retreat.

  • My parents had a lovely time staying at Judy's accommodation. Judy and her husband were most welcoming & pointed them in the direction of places to eat whilst also advising about places to see and how to get there. The accommodation itself was very clean, comfortable and well equipped - it was absolutely perfect for their stay. They would not hesitate to recommend Judy as host and her accommodation to others.

  • If you want to find a peaceful haven to retreat to after a long days sightseeing then this is the place for you. With comfy sofa and even more comfortable bed it was lovely to unwind after a full day out. The kitchen had everything you needed to prepare an evening meal and the views into the garden maintained that relaxed atmosphere and made you feel you were alone in the garden. The shortcut to the pub given by our host was another bonus. There is nothing much more in the village but we were pretty self sufficient anyway and not in need of any supplies which might have involved a car journey. The place suited our needs after a long day at Countryside Live at Woodstock and I am sure would do the same for others visiting the area.

  • The annexe is located in a beautiful village surrounded by glorious countryside. Our hosts were very welcoming and extremely helpful with advice about the local area. It is a great base for enjoying walks between local villages or as a stopover on the way to London. The accommodation is very comfortable and clean - we would love to return some day.

  • Very friendly, great views and peaceful.

  • Great place to stay. Jude was very friendly and happy to point us in the direction of the Cotswold Distillery (about a 15 minute walk away) and was happy for us to leave our car prior to the check in time so we could both have a tipple after the tour. (They give you quite a lot of alcohol to taste at the Distillery!) We only stayed one night but it would be suitable for a longer stay. Thanks again!

  • Jude was such a lovely host. The barn was perfect for a country escape and the village was lovely and quaint with close proximity to pubs and restaurants. Would love to stay again!

  • Lovely place to stay if you want quiet relaxation, great getting to know the friendly small dogs and of course the horses! Only problem for us as we were travelling for business was no wifi and limited phone signal - but would come back for a relaxing chill out stay!

  • Lovely and spacious barn perfect for a quiet and relaxing Cotswolds getaway. Great host, clear directions to the barn were given beforehand and lots of handy leaflets left in the barn. Very peaceful location within driving distance of all the main Cotswolds towns/villages. Beautiful country views from the barn and two friendly horses as neighbours!

Spend a night in our wonderful large 16ft (5m) Yurt, with a double bed, and wood burning stove. The yurt is simply and attractively furnished, sleeping 4 and has a double futon and 2 futon chairs that convert into single beds. It has a wood burning stove, a beautiful Indian wall hanging, kelim rug and bedside tables. It is insulated and has central heating and electricity so is as cosy in winter as in summer. There is a sink, with hot running water, a kettle, toaster and a few cups and plates in there too. The Yurt has it's own private fire pit. If desired, you can hire the separate double-bedded Boudoir next to the yurt for extra people or just to have a separate sleeping space. You will be located close by to the campsite facilities, including the kitchen which is equipped with pans, crockery and utensils, loos and showers. Our glampers have exclusive use of our new glamping bathroom. As with all of our glamping options, you will need to bring your own bedding. We supply 1 double duvet for the double bed and 2 single duvets for the single futons. We also supply pillows so please bring a duvet cover to put over ours, or a top sheet, bottom sheets, pillow cases and towels. You may arrive from 3pm on arrival day and need to vacate by 11am on the day of departure.
Around and About Perhaps the most wonderful amenity is Whichford Wood. There is access through the lane that runs parallel to our moat which ends up in the field where you can see a track that leads to the wood – there you will find many paths. You will definitely need your wellies for this. In early May there is a sea of bluebells, in autumn there are chestnuts and hazelnuts and quite often, if you are quiet, you will see muntjak and deer. The Village of Whichford The award winning village pub, The Norman Knight, serves good meals and has a lovely view over the village green.. They also have excellent live music nights. The pub is open every day except Monday lunchtime (open bank holidays). Whichford Pottery is also a wonderful place to visit, where there is a stunning garden full of inspiring pots, the Octagon gift shop and the marvellous Straw Cafe. The food is seasonal, locally sourced, hand made, hand baked and even home grown when possible. They have gardening master classes and adult pottery workshops. Local shops There is no shop in the village, but there are some very good shops nearby. The village shop in Long Compton has basic foodstuffs and sells papers. Wyatts Farm Shop near Great Rollright has a good selection of meat, vegetables, gifts and plants, wine and a cafe. The Village Shop, Hook Norton, is open until 8pm. Taste of the Country, Shipston-on-Stour, sell delicious handmade foods. The Rollright Stones The Rollright Stones is an ancient site, consisting of three elements, The Kings Men stone circle, the King Stone, and the Whispering Knights. It is well worth a visit and is just up the road. Holycombe Holistic Retreat Centre There are a number of alternative treatments on offer at Holycombe, such as Massage, Reflexology, kinesiology and Emotional Freedom Technique, whilst you are camping, these can be arranged with individual therapists. To do this see the therapies and therapists section of the Holycombe website, and to check what is on weekly, see the Holycombe (website hidden) page.
  • Staying at the Yurt was a fun and amazing experience. Facilities are excellent and well thought, and the yurt is well decorated. We have done some cycling in the Cotswolds, and Whichford is a good location, as it's not far from several charming villages. Also the pub Norman Knight nearby serves very good food. Would love to come back again!

  • Had a thoroughly life-affirming and inspiring time at holycombe when visiting with my mum and friend. Booked yami yurt which was deliciously warm despite sub-zero outside. Booked a series of holistic therapies from the names suggested and all were extraordinary. Kitchen facilities absolutely perfect and we ate in the cosy kitchen hut, well-stocked with necessities. Stunning setting for total relaxation including sundown fire and wanderings to and around circle. We also hired the angel room for a sunrise yoga session and floated off into the world refreshed after 24 hours which reset and rebalanced us all. Wonderful.

    Nicola2016-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful yurt. Really quiet site. Beautiful place, smashing village and good amenities. We have said for the £115 we paid each night that there should have been sheets, duvet covers and towels thrown in, but that was our only gripe. Would recommend the camping at £20 a night! ThT wou D be great value!

    Kathy2017-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Really loved staying at the Yami Yurt. Very comfortable as others have mentioned, we didn't need to use the log burner. The Yurt is really close to the facilities and kitchen, both are really well appointed. The glamping shower room is very comfortable. A there is a fire pit to use which we cooked some food. Plenty of room for 4 adults in the Yurt. Beautiful scenery, would stay again for longer.

    Jacque2017-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Just like all the other review, it was better thn expected. All the facilities are great and very convenient, importantly clean! Would definitely come again and recommend others to go!

  • My partner and me visited in middle of February, when it was freezing outside but the yurt, kitchen and toilets were so warm and cosy! Great facilities available. It was everything we expected and more. Just what you need for a perfect get away, beautiful surroundings and lovely walks. Host was easy to communicate with. Would defiently recommend and return in the future!

    Charlotte2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • I booked the yurt for my partners 30 BD, and we had a lovely cosy time! The space itself is warm and quirky, surrounded by a great peace of land and trees. The host are responsive and friendly, we even did manage to get a free burner that was about to go to waste, but we decided to restore it. We will definitely stay there again, and maybe experience the other fantastic buildings that they offer.

    Anita2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely quiet setting and an enjoyable stay. Yurt Yami was everything we wanted. The other facilities were better than we expected. The hosts were very friendly and also respectful of our privacy.

Our Gypsy Caravan is perfect for a cosy romantic getaway, or a space of solitude for 1. With the wood burning stove and peaceful setting come and recharge your batteries in the countryside, living simply amongst nature.
Come and stay in a beautiful, gypsy bow top wagon in the heart of the Cotswolds and experience the simplicity that can be so hard to find in these times. With its colourful bright exterior and cosy interior, it sets the scene for the perfect romantic getaway, or peaceful solitude while surrounded by nature. Positioned in our quiet and pretty camping field, you can either sit outside watching nature go by, enjoying your own private fire pit or light the wood burner and get cosy in the seating area. The bed is quite small so we recommend this to couples who don’t mind snuggling up together, or to people on their own. The measurements of the bed are 6ft1 long and 4ft wide. A little step is provided for getting into the bed and a certain degree of agility is necessary. We supply a duvet and pillows but you need to bring a bottom sheet, top sheet (or duvet cover to go over ours), pillow cases and towells. There is power if you should want it and a lamp. We also supply an electric fan heater. You will have access to our camping kitchen and glamping bathroom, both of which are heated. The kitchen has a cooker, fridge, electricity and a table and chairs. There is a private firepit just outside and a bench table for you to enjoy eating on or simply taking in the lovely surroundings. If you think you are sensitive to the sound of church bells then please bring some earplugs as they chime every 15 mintues. Please note we only allow children age 12 and over and we don't allow dogs

  • Our stay in the gypsy caravan was just what we hoped for! The caravan was charming and surprisingly cozy and comfortable. The campsite was very peaceful and the facilties were excellent. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends.

  • The location was beautiful and the directions on getting there were clear and easy to follow. From the moment we pulled into the driveway, there was an air of tranquility and peace. Whilst the owner was not around on our arrival (which we had been made aware of in advance), the caravan was easy to find, stocked with wood for the wood-burning stove, clean and tidy - the bouquet of wild flowers set it off nicely and was a lovely touch. The caravan itself was fascinating, a marvel of storage and once the fire was going, was cosy and very warm. The bed was very comfortable and having the windows open allowed for a gentle May breeze that set me off to sleep beautifully. The bed IS short, but that is clearly explained beforehand - but this is no surprise in a caravan such as this. I'm 5ft 9 and just about fit. If you were sleeping alone and could bend your legs, you'd fit no problem. The nearby toilet, shower and kitchen facilities were superb - sparkling clean, warm and comfortable. This was a wonderful, restful, charming stay that enabled me to push the modern world far, far away whilst living briefly in this caravan. Highly recommended in all aspects.

    Simon2016-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • The caravan was absolutely lovely and perfect for our weekend away. Definitely designed for shorter people who like to cuddle! The facilities were good and it was a very peaceful atmosphere on the campsite. The village was very nice, and the food at the Norman Knight delicious! Only negative was the church clock chiming every 15 minutes all night (take ear plugs and this shouldn't be a problem!) Perfect location for exploring the Cotswolds!

    Susan2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Holycombe is a lovely escape. Quiet, calm and relaxing. The kitchen, loos and showers were all beautiful clean and of a high standard. Loved listening to the birds and walking through the woods. The gypsy caravan is cosy and comfortable.

  • This is a quiet, peaceful and beautiful site. Nestled in a valley there is no mobile phone signal which proves to be a wonderful excuse to detach from the modern world for a while. The caravan itself is cosy and very warm with the fire going, with a surprising amount of storage! On site facilities are perfect, simple but comfortable and enough to drag me out of the caravan each day. Lots of walking and footpaths available to explore and with the woods just adjacent it is a place for quiet, relaxation, mindfulness and contemplation.

Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The location is lovely and absolutely perfect if you're looking for some peace and quiet - I would most definitely recommend !! And we will most definitely be paying a return visit!

  • We had a great stay in holly cottage. It was perfect for our requirements and in a beautiful part of the world! Even with a small baby we found plenty to do to keep us occupied. Jacqui and Geoff were great hosts, there were thoughtful touches such as bread and milk on arrival and they were around to give advice on places to visit and even hosted us for dinner twice in their pub which is just next door. The flat is quite small but has everything you might want, we cooked dinner one evening and found all the bits and bobs we needed. There is a lovely log burner to help you snuggle up on an evening and there is also a little garden which opens out from the bedroom. I would stay again!

Jessie (their dog) was really sweet too. The place was lovely, and if anything the photos don't do it justice. Highly recommended.

  • This is a very cosy caravaning experience within the rolling hills of the Cotswolds. The fireplace inside kept us cosy and four people fit comfortably inside. The kitchen and bathroom which are a 30-second walk away are very warm with all basic amenities provided such as washing up liquid, utensils, and cooking materials. This was certainly a magical and unique experience, I can't even begin to describe the night sky! Perfect weekend getaway especially if you are from the city.

  • Well. What can we say. Absolutely amazing. Air stream Anna was a pure delight. The bullet was cosy clean and had everuthing in it we needed. Within walking distance to a lovely pub and the houses around here will leave your jaw on the floor. The toilet and shower block was fancier than any hotel we'd stayed in. The camp site was so secluded and you really did feel miles away from anywhere. We took a trip to stow on the wold which is as pretty as a picture. We will 100% be back. Thanks so much xxxxx

  • This Airstream was stunning! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Although we stayed at the end of November the log burner and central heating made it so cosy and really warm. The setting was beautiful and a perfect getaway. This is a rural location but close enough to local amenities. The camp site itself had an amazing communal kitchen, toilets and showers. Communication with the hosts was excellent and they went over and above making sure our stay was perfect. Thanks for everything and hope to be back again.

  • We had a brilliant weekend in this amazing old building. It has lots of character and the grounds are wonderful with alpacas, a decent tennis court, swimming pool and beautiful views across the fields. Jessica and Gary kindly provided some breakfast items and plenty of logs for the fire, there were also games to play, DVDs and books. All the rooms were spacious and clean with comfy big beds. I would thoroughly recommend - thank you Jessica and Gary for such a lovely weekend.

  • We had an absolutely wonderful time at Tysoe Manor. The house and its setting are beautiful and very comfortable and clean. Jessica and Gary are super friendly and made sure everything we needed was taken care of. We had an 18 month old with us and Jessica and Gary went out of their way to make us feel welcome. There was plenty to keep us occupied on site (animals, tennis court, croquet etc) but the location is also ideal to explore the Cotswolds. We drove to nearby Chipping Campden and Broadway at Gary's recommendation. Both were idyllic and not heaving with tourists like some of the other villages. We are already taking about our next visit!

  • A very special home, with huge rooms, very beautiful grounds and best of all for us as it rained throughout, a snug sitting room for relaxing in. Gary was very helpful showing us around and allowing our dog to play with their dogs. Can't recommend highly enough.

  • We absolutely loved our stay. One of our best Airbnb trips so far! it's a beautiful manor with an animal farm which was great for our little one. Lots of things to do within the manor so one doesn't need to step out. The hosts were very helpful with everything and we could not have had a better stay. Thank u!

  • Lynn's house is warm, spacious and very comfortable. We were a group of 6 adults and 3 children - the kids loved having the horses around, and there were some good walks nearby. Lynn was lovely at all times. Hot water was a major issue, though. We only got 4 (quick) showers each day out of the tank before it ran out. Two of us had to wash using water boiled from the kettle, and the kids went without their baths in the evening. We had a great weekend regardless, but worth knowing in case you're eyeing up that huge bath in the photographs!

  • We were a group of 8 friends on a weekend reunion and found it hard to leave. This is a wonderful country house finished to a very high standard set in its own grounds in a stunning rural location. The house is beautiful and very spacious, with good communal spaces for cooking, playing board games, and spending time together. The huge well equipped kitchen was great for big dinners and the log fires in the reception rooms were gorgeous. Big utility & boot room was perfect for all those muddy wellington boots following our walks ! The bedrooms were all very spacious and comfortable with lovely bed linen and the bathrooms luxurious! The house was very well equipped with gorgeous furnishings and there were lovely touches throughout, with fresh flowers & a wonderful welcome basket with homemade cakes & cookies. Shortlands Park Stud is idyllic. I would highly recommend staying here; it's a stunning country house furnished to a very high standard with a beautiful garden and no neighbours. The house is incredibly well equipped and the beautiful beds are very comfortable. We had a fantastic weekend and would definitely return.

  • This place is incredible! The dining room is brilliantly set up for a large group and every room was kitted out with a bathroom. It really is a magical place and you could never be disappointed by both the house and scenery and the host who went above and beyond to make our trip memorable. The best airbnb experience I have ever had, and I have had a lot of brilliant ones!

A great family cottage, with period features and modern touches throughout. It benefits from a separate living room, kitchen and dining room, plus 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor. Outside you have a large private garden.
A wonderful holiday cottage, which is perfect for family's and get together. With a large enclosed garden, with various patios areas, for you to enjoy a glass of wine or two. Internally you have a period cottage, with modern conveniences throughout, a lovely modern kitchen, separate living room and dining room. Upstairs you have 3 bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Lower Brailes was once the 3rd largest town in the country - in it's hey day being larger than Birmingham! Today, the village is a quiet setting with a stunning church which was built by the workers housed in The George Hotel. The church was once thought to be a cathedral by all the surrounding villages and towns and is proud to house the 3rd biggest and oldest set of 6 bells in the country which to this day still ring to a wonderful sound. There are a wealth of places to visit in the local vicinity, including historical Shakespeare's Stratford upon Avon and Warwick with its historic castle and plenty of beautiful villages and towns in the Cotswolds. The historic university town of Oxford also is just a short drive away.
  • This was our first time in England. We decided to stay at Lavender Cottage because my sister in law was staying in the nearby town of Banbury. We were very happy with our choice. It was the perfect place for our family of six. Our kids had a great time playing in the backyard. We enjoyed going to the local pub, The George Inn and the local butcher shop, Paddock Farm which are both a short walk from the cottage. The location of the cottage is nice and quiet. We will definitely consider staying here again the next time we are in England.
