Burger Restaurant

“Best little pub in the downtown Ottawa Byward Market. Not easy to find but once you have experienced the amazing french Canadian burgers and fries, you will want to come back again...tomorrow! Amazing menu, friendly staff, great value for the plentiful portions you will get. Please note...this is a small pub for locals, so you must go early especially on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday evenings.”

“It's a hole in the wall, but the shawarma plate portions are the biggest I've ever seen. The food is amazing (especially the potatoes) - I highly recommend a chicken plate. Not walkable but worth the trip!”

“I LOVE this place! It's SO GOOD! Grab a coffee, hot chocolate and a yummy beavertail. This place is basically an Ottawa landmark with a perfect location in the heart of the Byward Market. Especially popular with tourists from outside Canada these treats come in many different flavours and are always fresh as there is often a long line up to get them. Staff works quickly and prices are fair. If you visit Ottawa then Indulge your sweet tooth here. You absolutely must have a Beaver Tail if you're visiting downtown Ottawa. Delicious!”

“A lovely spot for happy hour drinks and snacks (their happy hour menu is good also) or a meal (lunch or dinner) inside on the lovely courtyard patio. A little more upscale, but not too. Its a large place with some cozy nooks. They are also accommodating of food intolerance and allergies.”

“Typical Irish Pub! The Heart and Crown has been around since 1992, it stretches a full city block. With 6 bars within the building, it's as if you're touring an Irish Village. They provide standard Irish fare as well as some Canadian classics. It is a great place to people-watch on the patio during the day as it is in the heart of the market. By night it has a lively crowd who can enjoy live entertainment 7 nights/week. They offer breakfast on the weekends and show various sports events throughout the day (rugby, soccer, nhl, etc.).”

Mexican Restaurant

“Mexican, most bang for buck. Ahora isn't the best Mexican in town but it certainly isn't the worst. It boasts a really good lunch combo for a good price, which gets you a burrito and some decent sides. They have a special drinks, much like Borracho, however the sitting area is quite dank, as it is in the basement. I usually get it to go.”
