  • Great place to stay if you're traveling with a group of four or less. Our host Debra and Graham were very accommodating. We got a email the day of our arrival regarding the traffic situation and decided to get a rental car instead of getting a taxi or Uber ourselves there which turn out to be the best decision ever. It would have cost us a lot more money/time if we grab a cab or take the bus. There was a little traffic on our way from the airport to our place but with our host giving us a heads up we stopped by a market and picked up some groceries to avoid traffic. Our host informed us about the shower situation so we kind of space out our time but even with that there'll be times the water would turn cold. Other than that we loved this place very very much!

  • We loved staying here - beautiful place in a great area. We were able to walk to discovery espresso for smoothies and coffee, and also walked to figurehead brewery for great beer. We chose to use Uber or lyft during our stay, and it was a quick 10-15 minutes to wherever we wanted to go. Thank you guys so much!

  • Graham and Debra were wonderful hosts. Easy communication, easy check in. Very neat space. Close to everything. Very clean space. Would recommend again.

  • Great hosts! Graham and Debra we're very attentive, and greeted us every morning. Loved the space! We were just in love with that roll up door. Nice, quiet location, perfect to just sit back and relax. I'm not a small man, at first I thought I would have a little trouble with the loft bed, but it was super comfortable and very cozy up there. Would definitely recommend this place. Also, heated bathroom floors, so there.

  • This was the perfect place for us! The pictures represent the space perfectly, location was great, nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • My partner and I had a wonderful time staying at Graham & Debra's studio. Tucked away in a residential neighborhood,it was the perfect space for our getaway. Clever use of space. The urban design includes concrete floors and a loft bed. Keep that in mind if you just want to come back and plop on a bed. We had an adventurous urban weekend. The space provided the perfect accommodations . We didn't look into public transit and I'm glad that we had a car to take us to different parts of the city.

  • An awesome place to stay. It is close to downtown and walking distance to Discovery park. Definitely recommend staying here!

  • Super cute place! Everything was clean and easy to find. Graham and Debra made the check-in and out process very simple. My family and I highly recommend stay here.

  • We stay in Jan's house after we toke a Cruise Ship from Alaska. The house is great and the location is real good. The neighborhood is real nice and quite, close to everything. You should read all the instructions and description of the house before arriving. Jan was a great host and she was always available if you need her. She even bought some groceries so that way we could have breakfast in the morning because we arrived to Seattle at midnight. We really enjoy our short stay there, thanks again.

    CARLOS2017-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The views from Jan's home are amazing and the location is close to downtown. We were in Seattle for an event and getting back and forth via Uber was easy. We loved running in the park down the street and Jan had toys for our 3 yo daughter to play with. Jan was super communicative and while there was a maintenance issue during our stay, she was awesome about getting it resolved the same day. There are more rules than we have encountered in past vacation rentals, but they didn't stop us from enjoying the home.

    Justin2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most fabulous time at Jan's beautiful home. Really, the pictures don't do it justice. The giant house, yard, deck, and surrounding neighborhood were all gorgeous. We rented the house for a fairly big bachelorette party, but Jan was super accommodating and we all appreciated how sweet and helpful she was! She was upstairs/in and out throughout the weekend, but was completely out of the way anytime we needed the house. The house is very nice and thus comes with requirements to keep the house at 100%, but basically it just requires you to be respectful and we were able to get our group to comply without a problem. I completely recommend renting with Jan, we would all do it again in a heartbeat!

    Katie2015-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • This rental is exactly as it is presented on airbnb. Jan is very attentive and easy to communicate with. We rented the entire home for a girls weekend and Jan's home is just lovely! It is open and roomy in the great room with a very nice, well equipped kitchen. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The Magnolia neighborhood is very nice, quiet and convenient to downtown. I would not hesitate to stay here again in the future. Thank you Jan.

    Donna2015-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jan was incredibly welcoming. She had snacks, coffee, and milk available for us when we arrived. The house was impeccably clean and very very comfortable. I could have slept in the bed for days, if I hadn't been too busy roaming Seattle. Thanks for a lovely stay, Jan.

    Melina2015-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home with gorgeous views, convenient to all the sights and parks of Seattle. Jan is a great host, happy to help make the most of your stay. The home is clean, well stocked, spacious, well furnished and the views are amazing! You will love your stay in Jan's home.

    Sandy 2015-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • I had my bachelor here for the weekend. Jan is super helpful and very accommodatting. The kitchen is great for whipping up a meal for 10. It has everything you need. the backyard is great to hangout and there are enough beds and couches for my 11 man bachellor party. Nick (the house supervisor) is super helpful and friendly. This is a great place to stay!

    joseph2015-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jan made us feel very welcomed into her beautiful home. We were traveling on busy and it was wonderful coming back to a quiet luxury home only 10-12 minutes away from downtown Seattle. The home was highly maintained, all the basic amenities were provided, and we would definitely book again.

Beautiful penthouse on the water. Enjoy stunning 180 degrees views from every room with floor to ceiling windows. The comfortable queen bed has organic cotton bed sheets. The kitchen has everything you will need including spices and olive oil. The living room has a 55" smart TV (no cable) and a sofa bed that converts to a comfortable queen size bed.
  • This is a beautiful condo. You are close enough to the city (we Urbered for around $12 per trip), but you feel like you are in nature's wonderland. The views, both morning and evening were spectacular. Lots of fun wildlife to see. There is newer furniture than was pictured. A nice new couch and large flat screen smart TV. Nice touch for the one rainy night we had. The hosts did a great job communicating and checking in to make sure everything was ok. I highly recommend this place and would stay again when in Seattle. Also, the town of Magnolia is a ten minute walk and is super cute. Great Asian and Pizza restaurant and awesome french bakery.

    Sharon2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • The photos are accurate and of course the view is amazing. The weather was stormy during the visit but there were hints of Mt. Rainier and the Olympics. You also see the ferries crossing Elliott Bay. Seabirds dive and swim just below the balcony. The place has all the kitchen and bathroom basics. The kitchen is a fun trip back to the early 80s, however everything works fine. There were coffee beans and grinder, which is always nice when staying at a place for a few days. There are restaurants and stores up the hill. It's walkable if you feel like it. We walked up for lunch and to get a few things that we forgot to pack. The road is narrow so getting in and out of the parking spot could be a challenge for large vehicles.

    Jennifer2017-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our beautiful weekend stay in Seattle! The weather was gorgeous, the communication was easy and it was a nice quiet stay for my fiancé and I :) we will definitely be back!

    Bethany2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nicolas & Kyla's place felt extremely cozy and secluded despite only being a short drive from downtown Seattle. The views are incredible, the house was clean, and the wifi worked well. I would highly recommend!

    Kevin2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place. Right on the water - it feels like a cabin in the woods, except that you can see Seattle across the sound. When you are home here, you feel like you are on vacation, and yet you are only a short drive from everything in Seattle. Now, this is not the place you want to stay if you are looking for a pure urban experience where you can walk to anything. But for everyone else who is looking for a unique, special place to stay in this gorgeous city, this is for you. The sound of the water at night, and the views of sunrise and sunset...well, I will never stop thinking about them!

    Blake 2017-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is so awesome! It is a short Uber in to Seattle and a great reclusive spot for being so close to town. It is quiet and I don't think I saw a neighbor in four days there! Fresh berries are ripe for picking just outside and otters play in the water behind where the island and Puget Sound views are unmatched! Really enjoyed our stay there

    Scott2017-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, right on the water! Beautiful views! Open layout of apartment is lovely, better than I expected. Apartment fixtures are a bit dated, but it doesn't matter, very clean and well kept. Neighbors are super nice as well!

    Sandy2017-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • This place exceeded my expectations. A lot more spacious than I expected, comfortable bed, and a big bathroom. Outstanding view of the bay...we couldn't get enough of the sunrise in the mornings, and the huge moon over the bay at night. $10 Uber ride to the Market downtown, and in walking distance of a great arlrea just north. Highly, highly recommend staying here if u like bay views, and the sounds of waves crashing when you sleep

Full size tiled bathroom with glass enclosure, full size stainless kitchen, little sitting area with flat screen TV. One bedroom with king size bed. Washer & dryer in unit. Unit close to the Magnolia Blvd and views, bus stop with easy ride to downtown, 1.75 miles from Discovery Park, 3 blocks to the village.
Cute and bright ADU/Mother in Law in the basement of our modern newly remodeled home. Decorated in a Mid-Century Modern Fashion and fully furnished with all the features of home. Note it is in basement and floor traffic above can be heard.
Beautiful neighborhood. Close to parks (Discovery Park - hiking and beach), quaint village with restaurants and shopping.
  • Wonderful place. Super comfortable for 1-2 people, very private, comes with everything you need. Plenty of spare towels (check the left-hand drawers in the bathroom or you'll miss them). Great cooking space, we just needed to buy groceries. Very easy checkin with a coded lockbox so you don't need to wait around for anyone in order to get the keys. Easy parking on the street, very safe area, we felt right at home. 10-20 minutes by car from everywhere else in Seattle, so very convenient. You're also down the street from a beautiful view of the bay!

  • Jonelle's place was wonderful and is as advertised. I booked a weekend trip last minute for my mother and she was quick to reply to the booking. There are stairs leading down to the basement apartment. The apartment itself was spotless! It felt more like a hotel than someone's residence. The kitchen came fully equipped. There was even a washer/dryer. The bed was super comfy. A very cozy stay. Would 100% book again for a stay in magnolia.

    Karielle2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The place was perfect for our family's needs. Everything is new and well stocked and a great location to walk out to the bluff or head into the downtown part of Magnolia. Jonelle was also very responsive when a question came up. Thanks for a great visit!

    Mike2015-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • I felt so safe there. The apartment was very convenient and close to downtown Seattle. So much to do around there! Definitely recommended

    Katrina2016-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Jonelle and Kurt welcomed us to their apartment. Magnolia was very convenient to downtown. We appreciated the tastefully designed bathroom, bedroom and the kitchen. There were a lot of stairs up from the street and down to the welcoming apartment. We easily found parking on the street. Thank you for your hospitality.

  • My boyfriend and I just moved to Seattle and loved staying here for a month while we looked for a more permanent place to live. This basement apartment has all the amenities you need to live comfortably-- it was awesome to have a washer/dryer on site and the bed was amazingly comfortable and cozy. The surrounding neighborhood was beautiful and quiet and there are great views of the water and the mountains just down the block. The location was perfect--it was super easy to take the bus to the downtown area where I work, and if you're driving yourself it's even faster.

    Christina2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a comfortable stay in this beautiful, large basement apartment. The location in Magnolia couldn't better--close to the village shops and Discover Park with easy access to downtown Seattle. We will definitely stay in Jonelle's place again the next time we are in the Seattle area.

    Scott2016-05-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at this lovely ADU in Magnolia. The location was amazing!! We walked to the village a couple times, used uber to get downtown, and took advantage of the beautiful views along the water just a block away! Jonelle was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The unit was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was super comfortable as well. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Seattle :)

My place is close to downtown Seattle, about 10 to 15 minutes by driving. There is also bus line close by which will take you directly there. It is located in the best neighborhood in Seattle, close to library, playfield, coffee shop, etc. It is only about 10 minutes drive to Discovery Park, one of my favorites. . You’ll love my place because of it's at a convenient location and it's quiet. There is a three bedroom house and a one bedroom cottage in the back, great for large group.
  • This was only our 2nd time using AirB&B and it's not really easy to navigate thru so Jean was patient and kind to deal with. She allowed us to check in early for $100, which was very helpful and appreciated by us. She also allowed us to check out at 12:30 instead of 11:00 due to circumstances out of our control and again that was very appreciated. She had plenty of towels and shampoo and tp for all of us. We over did on the cleaning and she had to tell us not to and enjoy her place ;-). My mother-in-law said we have to give her lots of kudos and let everyone know we would stay there again :-). Thanks Jean!

  • Great place. Jean was lovely to work with.

    Adam2016-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jean was awesome from responding to messages/inquiries immediately to going above and beyond to assure that all of my mother's medical supplies were received safely for our trip. The house is beautiful, neighborhood was quiet and the setting is picturesque. It's far enough removed to have that small town feel yet minutes away from all that downtown Seattle has to offer. Just around the corner is a park for families plus other local amenities. We definitely hope to return! to

  • Very attractive; lovely garden; info provided was spot on; perfect for our needs; great neighborhood; enjoyed dinner on the back deck; loved the separate cottage; would gladly stay her again

  • Jean's Magnolia house was large, comfortable, and well-outfitted. The washer/dryers were great during our short stay. The backyard apartment was really cool. The house comfortably slept our group of 5. We weren't around the house much, but it is definitely a great spot for a large group in a quaint neighborhood.

Enjoy spectacular views from this charming home in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle. 3 bed, 2 bath with hardwood floors, fast WiFi, and a spacious kitchen. A home away from home.
Upstairs: Living room, dining area, cute retro kitchen, breakfast nook, two bedrooms and one bathroom. Downstairs: Third bedroom that is boho beautiful with another bathroom. Washer and dryer with washing supplies. The fireplaces are currently decorational, however, the home is cozy and warm with forced air heating in every room as well as plenty of sunlight to warm you up with your morning coffee!
This home is just a few blocks away from many great restaurants and cafes as well as easy access to bus routes into downtown Seattle. Ella Bailey Park is just 2 blocks away and has the best view in the city! Magnolia itself is a residential neighborhood on a peninsula jutting into Puget Sound. Families explore the beaches and forested trails of vast Discovery Park, home to West Point Lighthouse and indigenous art at the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center. Smaller Magnolia Park has expansive water views. Locals mingle in the Village, a cluster of upscale shops and cafes, and site of a summer farmers’ market.
  • Amazing views of downtown Seattle!! Super cute house with 3 comfy queen size beds and tons of room to spread out. It was so fun cooking on the vintage stove in the kitchen.

Located in an upscale neighborhood on Puget Sound, this charming private entrance studio makes up 2/3 of the top floor of a 1937 Cape Cod home. 30 yards from our local bus route that passes by cruise ship terminals, ending just 20 mins to downtown. Guests staying two or more nights, receive complimentary freshly baked French pastries for their first breakfast (served 8am - 10am).
The 500 sq ft., (47 sq m) space is a somewhat gentrified upstairs studio apt with charming dormers allowing for distant views of downtown Seattle and Mt. Rainier (late Autumn through early-Spring seasons only). Entry is via semi-private entrance through white arbor gate along backyard walkway. Bedroom overlooks backyard garden, kitchen eating nook overlooks front yard and driveway. Bed is full-sized (tad bit narrower than a queen). Please note, because of stairs and year home was built, this studio is not recommended for those with weight and/or mobility issues.
Property is established in a quiet family neighborhood, so we appreciate guests who respect our neighbor's low-noise level lifestyle. This shouldn't however dissuade our guests from having a few glasses of wine in the garden while passionately discussing the origins of ______________ .
  • Our stay was perfect! From the moment we arrived to our departure, everything was perfect. Jeffrey and Dipa could not have been better hosts. From welcoming us when we arrived, to the fresh croissants in the morning, and of course, our lovely chats in the garden. The apartment was clean, quant, and charmingly decorated. We felt as though we were traveling in Europe again. Thank you for such a wonderful experience! It truly exceeded our expectations!

    Crystal2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing and awesome! The hosts are fabulous. If you're lucky, you'll be treated to the most heavenly fresh, warm croissants you've ever experienced. It is super clean, very tastefully decorated, awesome communications, super parking. Great for short or long stay for one or two people! My wife and I came and had a great stay.

    Sanjiv2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffrey was a great host! He was very accommodating and responsive to all our questions. Some highlights include the fresh herbs from his garden that we used to cook breakfast, freshly delivered home-made croissants, and a bottle of champagne! We will definitely recommend our out of town guests to stay in this lovely Magnolia MIL gem - complete with a kitchen, spacious bathroom (with tub), a big bedroom overlooking the garden, and plenty of parking. A few minutes walk to the bus station will give you access to downtown Seattle! Thank you for making our stay so pleasant!

  • Jeffrey's studio is very lovely, charming, quiet, clean and all around delightful! The neighborhood was lovely and walkable. Jeffrey is a wonderful host and the warm croissants our first morning were delicious! All the reviews prior to our held true 100%. Jeffrey was very communicative and kind and we will definitely keep his studio on the top of our list!

  • Jeffrey was very helpful, kind, and responsive. His place is stylishly decorated and has all the amenities one could want. It has the feel of a luxury hotel rather than a mother-in-law studio. Not far from some great Seattle neighborhoods. We enjoyed our stay very much.

  • The place was absolutely wonderful. The apt was super clean and well put together. The location was perfect for where I needed to be, the views were amazing and overall the experience was great. I would recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking for a place in Magnolia. The hosts were great, and I appreciated the whole experience. Would stay again if I had the chance.

  • This was a great place to stay. The owners were helpful and accommodating. All of the furnishings are very nice.

  • As a repeat renter of this unit, we appreciate the great condition this apartment is kept. We had no issues or problems and look forward to future visits.

  • Was emaculate and mostly equipt, however the wifi had issues for a bit and a coffee maker would have been a good touch. Beautiful area and views. The town of Magnolia is very nice and quaint. Communication was good and the one issue was solved within a fairly short time. a very nice place to stay for business or lesure...a touch removed, however. This is not a bad thing. It is quite easy to walk to most anything one might require. I walked to the Whole Foods about 1.5 miles away and it was a very nice and easy walk with much to take in along the way...views of the city from the bridge...nice. But town is just a few blocks down the hill...a steep hill...OK by me.

    Robert2016-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Liza and Joel's place was in a stunning part of town - crazy views along the block and a quick run to a great path along the sound or in to the shopping area of magnolia.

    Roxy2016-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Liza and Joel's was fantastic! My flight didn't come in until late, and they were really flexible and understanding when allowing me to check in late. They communicate well and even dropped off a fan for me when it got really hot. Their place was small but charming, had all the necessary amenities, and was very clean. The neighborhood was beautiful and in a reasonable location. Be prepared to walk up and down a few hills, though! All around it was a great stay and I'd definitely recommend it for anyone looking to spend a relaxing time in the Seattle area!

    Jovan2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Nice quiet neighborhood with some local shops at the bottom of the hill. The apartment had everything we needed for a week long stay. Talked with Joel several times and had great conversations. I was glad we had a car as we often had plans in other parts of the city.

    OMAR2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved staying in Nathan’s studio. It was exactly as pictured with a private parking area and entrance to the upstair unit with a view. It was clean and spacious for the two of us and was so very comfortable, cosy and romantic! This unit is walking distance to neighborhood restaurants and even to the bus lines which we took one day into downtown Seattle. Would not hesitate to rent again if we’re in the area as this unit was stocked with everything you needed in the kitchen, bathroom and laundry room and was decorated with so much charm! Coming home to this unit after sightseeing all day made for a memorable vacation in Seattle.

  • Amazing views and a fantastic location.

    Jacob2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Ocean Front Beach Bungalow was one of the most wonderful places I've ever stayed in my life. The waves from the Puget Sound splash right up against the patio at high tide -- they lull you to sleep at night and greet you in the morning. There's always something to watch, the boats, the birds, the shifting sun on the mountains, the lights of the city. The cottage itself is adorable -- small but well-crafted with everything you need. The immediate neighborhood is a lush green park with residential areas beyond, plus the center of Magnolia is a short walk away with a wonderful farmer's market on Saturdays (great food, fun local music). And all the fun of downtown Seattle is just a ten minutes drive. William and Mary made sure our needs were met without being intrusive. I can't say enough to recommend the place. I'd stay there again in a minute.

    Rita2014-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • We very much enjoyed our stay on the ocean front, talk about location, location and location. Both the mornings and evenings sun rise/ setting was spectacular. The kids loved the fire pit every night, s'mores galore. Thanks

    Emma2014-03-28T00:00:00Z
  • Just getting home after a wonderful week in Seattle. The bungalow definitely made this part of our trip worthwhile. You cannot beat the view. The sunsets are amazing. The host is very communicative. The price is right. Would definitely recommend!

The neighborhood is nice and quiet and I was able to park my car right across the street. I would definitely stay here again!

I highly recommend their place not only as a lovely spot to stay but also as an exceptional value for this area!

  • Definitely loved staying here! Very modern looking, just wish there was a little more lighting but other than that no complaints. Definitely will be staying here again!

  • Our stay was more than I could have hoped for. The place is better than the pics show. It's modern, super clean and ideal for those traveling with a furry friend. The fenced in yard was such a nice added benefit. It's a quick walk to local shops and restaurants and a runner's paradise. Magnolia Blvd. was a perfect spot to run with stunning views of downtown Seattle, Mt. Rainier and Olympic National Park! Discovery Park is super close and it's a breeze to get to Downtown Seattle and other neighborhoods! We didn't want to leave. We'll definitely be back in future visits.

    Sadie2017-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Trish's home was convenient, comfortable, and very well located in Seattle for everything my wife and I wanted to do. Great for frequent travelers to Seattle who need the bare essentials with a convenient self-check-in and easy check-out.

    Anush2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful basement suite with a huge closet and wonderful bathroom. It was really great to have access to the laundry room as well. The yard is a really nice size and very well kept. It was very relaxing staying here. There is a park next door that was fun to relax and run around in. The biggest catch was not having a full kitchen, but if you don't need a stove this is a gem! We'd recommend!

The Orange Door is located in the heart of Magnolia: a quiet residential neighborhood northwest of downtown. This rental is great for couples, families, business travelers. Street parking is ample and you're just a short walk from the bus that will take you downtown. Stores and restaurants in Magnolia village are 15 minutes away by foot. Seattle's biggest green space - Discovery Park - is a mile away, Ballard Locks are a little bit farther. The Orange Door has everything you need for your visit.
The Orange Door located on the first floor of the house where I live. The actual location is under the living area. The Orange Door is scent free.
Magnolia is my neighborhood where I moved more than 10 years ago. I love it because it has unique landscape. I can reach the peninsula in 30 minutes walk distance. The largest park in Seattle, Discovery park is near by. The part of the park is West point light station. Very beautiful light house built in 1881. The parking on Magnolia side is free for officially known as the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks. The Ballard Locks is one of Seattle’s most popular tourist attractions, especially during the sunny months. The grounds also feature a fish ladder and the Carl S. English Jr. Botanical Garden. Did you see the view on Mt. Rainer from Magnolia Boulevard? Even take a walk just so refreshing before or after the working day. Fishermen’s Terminal is home for hundreds of working fishing boats that spend months on the open sea off the coast of Alaska. By water, it’s located off Salmon Bay just east of the Ballard locks. One of the Terminal’s prime attractions, of course, is fresh fish. At Wild Salmon Seafood Market, you can find fresh salmon, halibut (if in season) and crab. You can eat at Chinook’s At Salmon Bay or the Bay Café, both with terrific views of the Terminal and Salmon Bay. Fishing crews love to hang out at the Highliner Pub. I think I gave you enough info to just fall in love to my neighborhood and visit The Orange Door in Magnolia! See you soon.

Come experience Magnolia - you get the main house with the full 1350 square feet of space as it was originally designed, completely separate from the downstairs apartment, where we are when not travelling ourselves! Brick patio, lots of Light, 3 full bedrooms, dining & living rooms, full bath & modern kitchen w all you need. Love gardens, Outdoor Entertaining, and Gorgeous sunsets ? Our place is this and more for travelling Friends, Families , Adventurers, Business & Cruise ship travelers.
Over 1350 square feet; all of which has been remodeled in the past few years on the main floor; which was the original house in its entirety. Having lived here for 14 years, we improve it every year, adding garden spaces and amenities each year in addition to the basement apartment, which we often are in when we aren't travelling or on our sailboat. Our house has hardwood floors throughout with heated slate flooring in the kitchen, exercise equipment in the 3rd bedroom, a 13 x 12 foot Gazebo out the back door, an "old" brick patio off of the French doors in the kitchen and 2 bus lines across the street for easy access to downtown, Ballard, UW, and Cruise ship terminals. Its a perfect place for business or leisure travelers or for those locals needing a lovely space while their place is remodeled or built.
Magnolia is considered one of the top 3 neighborhoods in Seattle, due to its beautiful housing, views, and access to downtown, hip Ballard, and to the University District. We have two bluffs with views of the Mountains, Puget Sound and Seattle's city lights - depending on your location. Think of Magnolia as an upscale "Mayberry" where locals are gracious and friendly with local boutiques, a terrific French Bakery, and our famous Discovery Park.
  • I personally didn't have the pleasure of staying at Kim's place, as I booked it for my staff that was working at Bumbershoot. They had this to say about it: "Beautiful home in a great neighborhood just minutes from downtown Seattle. Kim was knowledgeable about the area and pointed us in the right direction for restaurants and other activities. Thanks Kim!!"

    Chelsea2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place. Beautiful view. Kim and Zia are very nice and attentive. Parking is easy and the neighborhood is really nice.

    Barbara2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • My in laws stayed here during a recent visit and it was acceptable accommodation. It was expensive for a single couple, but split 3 ways, would make more sense. Note that there is no cable television... just a smart tv with internet access for Netflix, etc. Not a huge deal to me, but was a big disappointment for two people in their 80's who can't get around much. Lots and lots of dark wood and artifacts, which, depending on your design preference, could be a positive or not. Kim was very helpful in communications prior to the stay and check in was very easy.

    Katie2016-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Kim has a beautiful garden & a gazebo that looks down the hill & you can see the space needle. It's a short walk/drive to the waterfront with sweeping & breathtaking views of the sound. Magnolia hill is awesome... close to Fremont & Ballard in on direction then a nice drive onto Alaskan & the Seattle waterfront. Beds are comfy & it is a nice quiet neighborhood. The homes & gardens here in Magnolia are fabulous.

    Leah2017-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house looks even better than the pictures showed. The house is art decorated with many oriental elements and vintage furnitures. The owner offered the slippers. All rooms are very clean and all beds are comfortable, the owner offers all necessary kitchen facilities, tea bags, coffee machine. The backyard is gorgeous ,and the block are very quit and beautiful. The location is great and it easy to access the sea view and park. The only thing need to improve is bathroom, there are 3 comfort bedrooms for at least 6 guests group but 1 bathroom available only. We are requested to use bathroom before 10:00pm, however we are 6 peoples and if we use bathroom half hours each one, we have to come back to house no later than 7:00. So the house is not perfect suitable for 4 persons or above group , or the people who have only short stay in Seattle but want to know the the city better in daytime as possible as they can.

    Zheng2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kim's home was very beautiful and clean. The neighborhood is very peaceful and safe. I felt very secure with my small children when it came to safety when exploring the area. Located a short drive from all of Seattle's main attraction which was a plus.

    Jessica2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • The house is situated in a nice and lovely neighborhood. It has all things you need for comfortable living. The host is caring and attentive to the guest's needs. The only thing is that downstairs basement apartment has thin walls with the main house and you can easily hear everything, so you need to adjust your voice and be mindful about that.

    Ksenia2016-08-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely and spacious, and well situated in the Magnolia neighborhood, providing easy access to all of Seattle's attractions. Communication with the host was easy and quick. We even left a computer cable in the house and she offered to mail it back to us. The house comfortably fit five overnight guests and six for dinners. Overall a great experience and would stay there again.

  • Our family had a great stay here! Metropolitan Market is only a few blocks away, and quite a few great restaurants. We stayed for 6 nights and had to text/call several times for some general questions, and was promptly responded to each and every time. It's roomy and clean, definitely recommend staying at Mark + Kate's place!

  • This Cottage served us very well on our stay. It was a short drive away from downtown in a nice and friendly neighborhood. Mark and Kate were very helpful, responded to our comments quickly and resolved any issues immediately. The iron didn't work and to our surprise they had a new one waiting for us when we had returned.

    Mohammad2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place. No complaints.

    Matthew2017-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Mark + Kate's place. It looks just like the photos - spacious, bright and very clean. The beds were super comfortable. It seems like the cottage is brand new and there are a few electrical issues that need to be resolved, but nothing major. My mom was disappointed that there was no live TV to watch the news, but overall it was a great experience. Thank you!

    Shanna2017-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and appeared to be recently remodeled. Great location for easy access to downtown Seattle and its surrounding areas. It provided a very comfortable base for a nice week with the family. Enjoyed the new appliances and beds. Overlooked the lack of cable, but the smart tv function and wifi worked well. Would visit again.

  • Me and my family had a great stay at Mark and Kate's place! Their place is very nicely located in magnolia and everything is 20-30 minutes away from it. Be it the airport or Pike's place market or downtown or Boeing tour or capitol hill or fremont or ballard.... the list goes on. Very neat, clean and well prepared for us. We had great fun at their place. The only things is that the place as of now lacks the postal address so if you are ordering food - you just have to explain the delivery guy that the house is in the backside of the given address.

  • Our family stayed here for two nights. The apartment was very clean and had been recently updated. We liked that the location was in a residential neighborhood with parks and coffee shops nearby. We had a couple of questions and Mark and Kate were quick to respond. Overall a great stay!

Magnolia is a quiet Seattle neighborhood, situated between Ballard and Belltown, and just west of Queen Anne. It's a quick bus ride or Uber from the things you want to see while you're in town. Space Needle, EMP Museum, Pike Place, cruise ships, stadiums, and more. Stroll along Magnolia Blvd for magnificent views of the Sound and the city. Blocks from downtown Magnolia, with a variety of restaurants and bars. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families.
  • Adam's Airbnb Duplex is beautiful and it is only 5 - 10 minutes away from the main part of Seattle. The beds there are very comfortable if you like firm beds. The kitchen is very modern and the bathroom is kept very clean. If you plan on doing some cooking and plan on doing some shopping, there is a QFC which is a 24hr grocery store within 3 miles of the home. Overall, it is the best Airbnb I've been too and plan on going back to.

  • The house was perfect for my family and I. It was quiet and a wonderful view with beautiful scenery. Very close to transportation to downtown and a short trip getting there. Adam provided everything we needed and assisted us for anything out of the ordinary. If I ever return to Seattle it will be at Adam's place. Thank you.

  • This a great place in a beautiful residential area. Clean and comfortable. Great for long walks. Short Uber ride to downtown Seattle.

  • Everything as described. Adams's place is very spacious. Great communication and easy check-In. Would highly recommend anyone to stay here!

  • Adam's place was perfect for three adults but is very spacious and would be comfortable for more. The location is convenient to tourist sites without having to drive on any busy streets. The neighborhood is beautiful and walking to a restaurant was so enjoyable. Close to anything you might need.

  • We loved staying at Adam and Elizabeth's place and can highly recommend it, especially for families like us with two teenage kids. Plenty of room, comfortable beds, great wifi and even a barbecue out back for a convenient and easy meal after a day of sightseeing. Adam was a friendly host, and the neighbourhood was quiet and had a great feel to it.

  • For us, this stay was great. We were visiting family in Magnolia so enjoyed the location of Adam's place (very walkable) and the amenities of the house. Very handy to have a dishwasher and washer/dryer, especially when traveling with a toddler. The apartment is big enough, even for a crazy toddler to run around, and allowed us all to have our own space. We requested an extra space heater from Adam, as we happened to be there during a rare cold front, and he brought one to us promptly. Overall, a great stay and we'd recommend staying here. We'll likely stay here again!

    Kyle2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Adam was such a gracious host and was always ready to offer help. The space was clean and very comfy. It's walking distance to everything you need. Will definitely call on Adam again!

This spacious "5 star" rental apartment is close to Downtown Seattle, Cruise ships to Alaska, Magnolia Village, Playgrounds, Magnolia Boulevard West, Ballard, Queen Anne. You’ll love the apartment because of the location, the people, the ambiance, the outdoors space, and the views. My place is excellent for romantic couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
Our guests remark at the overall size and how very quiet the apartment is in this light filled unit which has everything needed for a comfortable, relaxing stay.
Magnolia is just 5 miles from Pike Place Market and the heart of downtown. The village is an easy walk from the apartment with a variety of restaurants and other shops and services. Several menus and coupons are available to our guests. Puget Sound water parks are close by (1 and 2 miles away)
  • Susan's place is awesome! I love the location, which was walk-able to the village for groceries, restaurants, and the farmer's market on weekend was icing on the cake. I felt like the interior was better in person than the pictures, it really went above and beyond our expectations. It felt cozy and as if you were at home - all amenities were there. They have done amazing things in the garden & landscaping! We will definitely re-book this, next time we want to visit Seattle.

    Rebecca2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Susan's was wonderful. After a bumpy start from an unexpected cancelation from our first Airnb host, Susan was a welcome reminder that there are still caring people out in this world of ours. First off, her garden is beyond words. From the small waterfall to her lovely sunroom she has a little piece of heaven in Seattle. Second, the beds were so comfortable, I could have napped all afternoon if the Seattle sites weren't waiting to be explored. Susan, thank for your hospitality and taking us in on such short notice. You truly are a SUPERHOST!

    Wendy2017-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place was a real gem in Seattle. We had to book somewhere last minute and couldn't find a hotel room in the city. This turned out to be for the best however since we got to stay in this lovely suite. The garden is lovely and the suite itself was very roomy and clean. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it to others looking to stay in Seattle. Thanks Susan.

  • This is such a special place. If you want to go to a home that is beautiful, peaceful and has everything that you need this is the home. I highly recommend this location. The best that we have stayed at while staying in Seattle.

  • This is an amazing place. My in laws were very happy with their stay. Susan was a great host and we will be staying here again in the future.

  • Susan's place was great. She met us there and showed us in. The place was very accommodating. The bed was very comfortable and we slept great. The location is in a very nice area, and was easy to find. Only about 15 minutes driving or Uber to the city center. Susan's directions were very simple and clear. We loved it and would stay again on another visit to Seattle!

  • It was a pleasure to stay at Susans flat. It was very spacious and very clean. The garden is an oasis. And her cat was very friendly and comes to visit us in the garden. The neighborhood is very nice, we loved to take a walk here and to watch al the nice gardens and houses. Seattle is a very green city, we would love to stay here again someday!

Seattle's warm and inviting neighborhood of Magnolia welcomes you with joggers, strollers, and dog walkers- -walking distance to the quaint Magnolia Village- -where there are banks, cute restaurants, shops, etc. 1 block from bus stop that takes you to downtown, Seattle Center, Fremont, and Ballard neighborhoods, or connections to SeaTac. Quick 5 minute drive to cruise ship departures from Pier 91, 10 minutes to Pier 66. Guests may be asked to sign a Rental Agreement within 72 hours of booking.
We offer one bedroom, and a TV/huge rec room which can be closed off with a door on either end of it to make a second bedroom. This second "bedroom" has a folded down queen size bed, made up for you as you arrive. The space also has a floor mattress, if needed, for additional sleeping space. Also there is a couch and dining table that seats four, which doubles as work space for the business traveler. The large kitchenette area has a full size refrigerator, microwave, toaster, toaster oven.... everything you need to cook--silverware, glassware, pots and pans, should you decide to stay longer. A washer and dryer in the unit is an added bonus. The bathroom is off the kitchen area for easy access for both "bedrooms". Outdoor space includes a chaise lounge on a private patio, just inside the back gate, with a private separate entrance off the driveway. Even without a car, a bus stop is at the end of the street, and all the shops and restaurants in super cute downtown Magnolia are less than a 15 min walk. A quick half a block away towards the ferry bay, you get THE best view of Seattle day or night. You'll see tons of amateur (and probably professional!) photographers lining the road at the best spot at sunset/moonrise!
Magnolia very walkable, several bus lines one block away (and 10 minute walk to Magnolia Village- everything is a short driving distance--Greenlake and Fremont are also only 10-15 minutes away

  • Jan was wonderful to work with, and very accommodating with our check in time line from our air flight. The location was perfect for us, secluded but still walkable to Starbucks and restaurants. It was close to Pier 91 for departure to Alaska,

  • Jan's place was serene, quiet, and super convenient to the best of Seattle. We had a car and the kids with us, so it was perfect. Even without a car, a bus stop is at the end of the street, and all the shops and restaurants in super cute downtown Magnolia are less than a 15 min walk. As others have pointed out, the living room can be closed off with 2 doors and the bathroom is off the kitchen, so it can effectively be 2 bedrooms from a privacy perspective. Bed was super comfortable, water pressure was excellent, and the washer-dryer was a great bonus feature!! TIP: walk up the main road towards the ferry bay, and you get THE best view of Seattle day or night. You'll see tons of amateur (and probably professional!) photographers lining the road at the best spot at sunset/moonrise!

The studio is a bright, modern and recently remodeled ground floor in our home. While we live upstairs, the studio is completely private with its own entrance. Perfect for couples, solo adventurers or business travelers. Magnolia is a residential community situated in the middle of Seattle - it's close to downtown, Ballard, Fremont and Queen Anne. Nearby you'll find some of Seattle's most beautiful parks (Discovery Park, Ballard Locks) and best restaurants/bars.
Open floor plan with a desk, sitting area, and small kitchenette (microwave, mini fridge, Keurig with coffee & tea).
Centrally located with easy access to many of Seattle's best neighborhoods - Ballard, Fremont, Queen Anne, and downtown. Close to major arterials, a 30 minute drive from the airport, and 15 minute drive from downtown. Magnolia is a pastoral neighborhood that has plenty of charm and amenities while still being in the heart of Seattle and close to tons of restaurants, bars, farmers' markets, breweries, parks, bike paths, grocery stores, etc. Magnolia is quite hilly but we love to walk and have explored many Seattle neighborhoods on foot from our place. Down the street is Fishermen's Terminal, where fishermen keep their boats and the Deadliest Catch was filmed. Great, fresh seafood and local history. Also nearby are the Ballard Locks, Discovery Park, and stunning lookouts over Elliott Bay.
  • Lovely view of downtown in the distance, through an entire bank of windows. Great big beautiful bathtub to soak away the aches of a full day before dinner. Comfy bed. Netflix! Felt like home.

    Liz2016-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! Especially for couples exploring Seattle. This place is closed to downtown and many nice restaurants (approximately 5-10mins). Their place is on the hill and has an unique view in the morning. Very quiet and safe community. I would definitely stay in here next time I'm in Seattle.

  • Super clean, beautiful. Allison is a great host!

    Sunshine2017-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • This space is absolutely beautiful! There is so much light with the floor-to-ceiling windows, yet it is very private with all the trees outside. The owners were very accommodating and responded quickly the one time I had a question. The bed was super comfortable, I think more comfortable than my bed at home! The bathroom is beautiful as well. I loved the super plush towels and large jetted tub. Overall it really felt like a retreat even though I was traveling for work. Definitely plan to stay here again when I come back to Seattle.

    Niambi2016-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Allison's place is a cozy little hideaway in the quiet Seattle neighborhood of Magnolia. It's perfect for anyone that doesn't want to stay in the hubbub of the city with its noise and traffic. Yet one can still be a tourist and sightsee during the day and evening knowing there's a calming space awaiting when finished. The airbnb rests along a hillside and has a long span of windows that afford a spectacular view of the lower sections of Magnolia and the North Queen Anne neighborhood in the distance. The bed and sofa are very comfortable, and almost enticing enough to just lounge inside and never go out. It's also fun to stroll around the neighborhood and look at the beautiful homes. But bring good walking shoes because there are plenty of hills to ascend and descend. Allison is a gracious hostess, and she would text me from time to time to see if we needed anything or if we were all right. Yet most of the time that we were there, we felt as if we were all by ourselves, even though she and her husband's primary residence is directly above. Occasionally we heard footsteps overhead but nothing at all obtrusive. Our only complaint (small complaint) is the design of the bathtub shower. When showering, water puddles along the edges around the top of the tub and can drip onto the bathroom floor. I would tuck small bath towels in two crevices, front and back, to absorb the water. The instructions in the guest's information book could have explained this problem better. With that said, I definitely would recommend Allison's place, and we would definitely come back and stay there again.

Vacation in the coveted Magnolia neighborhood 3 miles from Downtown. This tranquil setting offers a full patio with fountain and BBQ. Enjoy the view of MT. Rainier and Space Needle while being close to nearby attractions, shopping and restaurants.
Quiet and Private entrance to home. Large patio with tranquil fountain. Nice decor. Great location with easy access to two bus lines and plenty of car to go vehicles in the neighborhood. Fantastic views and easy location to access.
Magnolia is a beautiful neighborhood close to downtown Seattle. Discovery park is also located here and a must see while visiting here. The view from here is also spectacular. Very close to the cruise ships too less than a mile.
  • Terrible stay at Seattle, I promise I won't stay this house again. Cause the reason is there are spiders in my room. Before I turn off light I killed one small spider but after I wake up in the morning around 8 o'clock I saw a huge spider web over my head. And I took pictures. That is so scary. I hope these spiders are not poisonous, one part of my skin on my chest clearly feels pain. Maybe I will be spider-man. Great environment outside the house but I won't choose here again. Very tiny restroom and kitchen. Wish you guys like.

  • Kristen was incredible; the perfect hostess. If she hadn't told us that we were only her second guests, then we wouldn't have known because she was so wonderful! Kristen was there as much or as little as we wanted. The house was well stocked; the kitchen had everything we wanted and there were enough blankets and towels. The place itself was the perfect blend of comfort and style. The patio was amazing! And so was the view. From now on we plan on staying at Kristen's place when visiting Seattle.

    Heidi2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • My Stay with Kristen was honestly one of the best experiences that I've had with Airbnb. I'm not just saying that because of the place, which was exactly as described, but because of Kristen herself. Never have I met such a welcoming and caring host. She was truly amazing and I would recommend this place not only for the views but for the experience of having a person like Kristen be your host. She will make you feel at home and is very helpful with information and tips to make your stay the best it can possibly be. I loved the fact that she made our rough start (due to flight issues) disappear with her kindness and her spirit. Thank you for everything Kristen. Hope to see you in the near future.

    Susan2016-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen is a great host and is very attentive. She offers recommendations, directions for mass transit and has a great library of tourism materials right there for you. Very comfortable accommodations and everything you need to prepare meals for an evening in as well! The bathroom was a little smaller than I expected, but the hospitality was above and beyond.

    Lori2017-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our hostess, Kristen, by far exceeded my expectations for this adventure! This was my first time to ever stay in someone else's home besides family. Thats exactly how Kristen made us feel, like family! Kristen kept in touch with me prior to arrival via email and texts. She inquired about our plans for Seattle and offered much appreciated information and suggestions on things yo see and do while in Seattle. This was my first time to visit Seattle. On the day of our arrival, she offered to let us drop off our luggage since we were going to be early. She even drove us to a wonderful place on the water for lunch while she prepared our for our stay! The apartment was unbelievable! The beds were amazingly comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with everything one could possible need, and the backyard "oasis" had the most unbelievable views of downtown Seattle and even Mt Rainier! I especially loved the sound of the water fountain while I sipped coffee on the patio in the early mornings and wine in the evening! Oh, and, she even let me meet her sweet black labradors after I told her that I had read in a previous review that she had two. Otherwise, I would have never known she had any pets at all (I was missing mine from home)! They were adorable! I was really sad to leave her home. Kristin and her husband absolutely made us feel like family. They went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional! I highly recommend this Seattle Sanctuary because that's exactly what it is! I will not stay anywhere else when I come back!

    Beth2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • This place is close to the cruise pier, and convenient to the center of Seattle, the fares by Lyft to hip restaurants and Seattle Center are under $10. The room is well equipped and very clean. Kristen's communications, suggestions and hospitality made our stay worthwhile.

Plenty of free street parking, and only ½ block to the bus line to downtown Seattle.
Are you spending your vacation in Seattle? This space is just minutes away from Pike Place Market, The Space Needle, and cruise boat terminals. Business traveler? Do you see a book on the shelf that looks intriguing? Take it! Have you just finished a book which you'd like to share? Leave it! We love animals, however to accommodate our guests with allergies, we never allow animals in The Library.
The Magnolia area is a well established, single family dwelling neighborhood, just minutes away from downtown Seattle. Homes are well cared for. It is one of the safest neighborhoods in Seattle, with many young families living here. The commercial area, called The Village, has many amenities - restaurants, grocery stores, and boutiques to explore.
  • The Library is an ideal spot for a cozy city getaway. Susan and Jeff made us feel welcome and were an absolute delight! Our space was private and cozy - We had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our stay. The bed and bedding was incredibly comfortable and was an absolute treat to curl up in in the evenings. Everything was clean and well laid out so it was easy for us to utilize the space to the fullest. We will highly recommend to our friends and family coming to visit Seattle and will be sure to visit again, should the need arise!

  • This was a lovely studio space in a beautiful area in outer-Seattle. Public transportation is near, as is the fantastic Discovery Park. The apartment was as advertised: electric fireplace, books on the walls, and a heated towel rack. (No TV, but we didn't need one while we were traveling.) Susan and Jeff were communicative from booking to check-out, and even sent us recommendations toward our trip. And there is a well-prepared binder in the apartment that details interesting places to visit in Seattle. Amenities are basic, so if you need anything specific you should bring it with you.

Hosts were reachable if needed. Very thorough guest book with suggestions for the area and instructions on apartment appliances. Great stay. We will be back.

  • Susan and Jeff have put a lot of intelligence, insightful thought into their delightful, open Airbnb! They give great attention to detail, from the excellent "Welcome to the Library" book (with everything you needed to know about their place and what to see in Seattle including wierd and usual places) to outlets on both sides of the bed. It was exceptionally clean...the greatest test is always looking under the bed, at the end, to make sure I haven't left anything and NOT finding someone else's items...they passed that test! Both Susan and Jeff are friendly and accessible. Their house is close to public transportation and easily accessible by LYFT.

  • While communicative and approachable (as praised by other guests), Brad wasn't ready for our stay. Given our hosting experiences with Airbnb, that's forgivable to a point. The sheets on the bed hadn't been changed. Brad volunteered that info ahead of time. That was a non-issue. But the bathroom hadn't been cleaned. Towels from a previous stay were present. And for the price of the stay, we expected a little more. The room was nice. Brad could not have been more hospitable-going so far as to lend us a fan (the room warms up during the day). But he could have been more prepared.

  • Before coming to the place, I was super excited from the pictures because of how beautiful and modern the home was, and upon arriving, it did not disappoint! The place was beautiful and clean and we had a car but it was only about 15 minutes drive to DT where we spent most of my time. The only minor complaint I had was there were no blinds or cover for the room so it was very transparent and bright in them morning. All in all, I would definitely be back if I were to stay the night in Seattle again.

    Matthew2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • You pay extra for the second person. Your use of the place is the bottom bedroom and bathroom despite pictures of the kitchen and upstairs LR. Perhaps that was an assumption on my part.

  • Overall a very clean and spacious rental. Karin was gracious and accommodating, and the Airbnb was in an exceptional location in magnolia

  • We spent four weeks at Karin's house and it was great. She's a wonderful host: incredibly kind, very helpful and always prompt to address any issues or dispel any doubts. She even gave us a tour around Magnolia and surroundings and provided us with a lot of useful information! The property was very clean, tidy, comfortable and cosy. Our little kids enjoyed playing on deck and we enjoyed few BBQs with spectacular view on majestic Rainier. Magnolia itself is great area - calm, a bit detached yet close to Downtown (Space Needle, EMP Museum etc), Ballard, ZOO and others. I highly recommend this place!

  • Still fairly new to Airbnb, but do need to let you know that my stay in Magnolia has truly hooked me to the Airbnb experience. Magnolia is a fabulous community just outside Seattle, and we found it warm and inviting. The short car/bus drive downtown (...buses easily accessible) was not a problem. In fact the bus ride really made it part of the total Seattle experience. In regards to the home/retreat we booked, we found it nothing short of exceptional. Very large bedrooms with comfortable beds, great game room, and a lot of common areas to just sit, relax and enjoy a glass of wine. And we were told that a kitchen is currently being added, which will be a real bonus the next time we stay. House/retreat has a deck that wraps across the entire back with a wonderful view of downtown Seattle. It was actually quite stunning to watch the sun come up across the city in the morning, and then to see the bright lights of the city at night. And as for our host, Karin was as exceptional as the home and city views. A very lovely lady that you can tell loves Seattle almost as much as hosting her guest. Karin's knowledge of Magnolia and Seattle made our travels and stay that much easier. A wonderful Seattle experience that we will highly recommend to our family and friends, and one that we will again be taking soon!

  • I stayed with 4 of my friends from college who get together every year to visit new places and renew our friendships. Karin's place is clean and roomy with comfortable beds, a new well-furnished kitchen, and a lovely deck in the charming Magnolia neighborhood. We especially enjoyed Karin's lovely garden as we came and went. I have a small apartment in Magnolia, so I was familiar with how convenient it is to Seattle Center and many great restaurants. It was nice to have a comfortable place to "come home to" after a day of sightseeing and shopping. Karin is knowledgeable and friendly, and she was quick to respond to our questions and concerns. I will be happy to recommend this lovely home to my friends and would gladly stay there again!

  • My friend and I enjoyed a lovely stay at Karin's. She is a gracious and attentive host and the space is comfortable, clean, and classy. I really appreciated Karin's decorating taste, which is both casual and elegant (the squashy sofas are the best!). We came to experience some of the Seattle highlights and greatly enjoyed returning to Karin's quiet neighborhood after spending our days in the bustle of the big city. It was so nice to have a comfortable living space to hang out in as well as our own bedrooms. There is no kitchen, but there is a nice eating space with a small refrigerator and microwave, and Karin has stocked the area with dishes, silverware, glasses, etc. Although we didn't take advantage of them, there is access to a washer and dryer and also a game room with a ping pong table. Both bedrooms have doors that open out onto a deck. One bedroom has windows that can be opened, the other bedroom does not, so if you're a must-sleep-with-the-window-open kind of person, be aware of that. One end of the deck gives you a distant view of downtown Seattle and also a nice view of Mount Rainier floating mistily on the horizon whenever the clouds lift from around it. The weather was beautiful during our stay, making it possible for us to use the bus system to get around town. It's about a 6-minute walk from Karin's to the bus stop. Important note: it's hilly in Magnolia (and just about everywhere else), so if you plan to do much walking, be sure to wear appropriate shoes for walking on slopes (Birkenstocks are NOT good on hills!), and if you have problems negotiating stairs or slopes, you'll need door-to-door transportation service. Also, access to the suite in Karin's place does require the ability to navigate a flight of stairs. Karin collected all sorts of publications to assist us with choosing what sights to see (besides the Chihuly Glass and Art Museum, which was our primary destination), and emailed us an extensive list of restaurant recommendations - one of which (Mondello's) we enjoyed so much we went back 3 times! Karin was quick to respond to any questions or requests for assistance. Oh, and she has a charming goodwill ambassador in the form of her cat, Maggie. This was my friend's and my first experience staying in an Airbnb listing, and we were delighted with Karin's place. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Karin as a host.

The little guest cottage is super cozy and perfect for travelers who are comfortable with a small space. We are minutes away from Downtown Seattle, Ballard, Lake Union, Fremont, the Cruise Ship Terminal and so much more.
Magnolia is a quiet bedroom community, populated by working families. You may hear some noise from the train yard in Interbay at night. There are a handful of restaurants and bars in walking distance, but the area is largely residential. We have easy access to downtown Seattle, Ballard, Fremont, UW, and points between, via Metro. It's also easy to find a Lyft or Uber nearby.
  • Cute, clean, cozy, quiet, and in a great location! Perfect for our short one-night stay to see a show at the Fremont Abbey. We only wished we had brought our pillows from home, but that's totally a personal preference. A cute garden kitty was there to welcome us, and the chickens bid us farewell. We would definitely stay at Jon & Barb's Seattle Tiny Home again!

  • Chris' place is fantastic. It's spacious, comfortable, clean and conveniently located. Access was easy and hassle free. The patio deck is perfect for morning coffee and conversation or just quiet contemplation. I would absolutely return if my travels take me back to Seattle.

  • It was a perfect experience we stayed in Chris's house, clean, quiet and very safety!!

    Bella2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Chris's AirBnB in early April. It's a very modern and comfortable suite. Lots of room to relax indoors but also a beautiful patio outside to catch the afternoon sun. The location is ideal. Just a few blocks from the Magnolia downtown. Coffee shops... And a bakery!!! Only a few blocks away. We would definitely stay with Chris again.

  • The apt was perfect for our needs, close to our friends and the village. New, spotless and lots of light. We will try and use it every time we come to Seattle. Short drive to the city as well for resturants, the market and downtown sites. Great bed!

    Rebecca2016-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Chris was very welcoming and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet and a walking distance to stores and restaurants. It was probably one of the cleanest and most comfortable Airbnb's we have stayed at. I would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. Thanks Chris for such a pleasant place to stay.

  • This studio was really nice and in a great neighborhood with the city not far away. There are two rooms- one is the living room with a bed in it and then the next room has the bathroom, kitchen and another bed in it. Over all it was a great place go stay for the price.

  • Cute spot in lovely Magnolia! My mom and Aunt stayed here while in town for a week as it is a block from my apartment. Very convenient to the bus stop that took us directly downtown (and to easily access the light rail train and other buses to various neighborhoods). They said the beds were comfortable and enjoyed the little patio and Koi pond.

    Megan2017-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • We were a group of 5 and the place was just the right size! Perfect for 5 or 6 if you don't mind sleeping on a couch. Which was super comfy btw. Loved the garden and how big the loft was! Super big plus that the bus stop was just around the corner! The 24 took us straight to downtown in less then 20 min! Check in was a breeze with lock codes emailed two days before. They do rent out the loft above so you will hear some noise from above but they were pretty quiet and everyone respected quiet hours. The neighborhood is very nice and felt very safe. Was happy that we were able to park on the street right out front of the house for the entire duration of our stay. Would definitely recommend this place!

    Mayra2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was very nice. I had a show premiering and the host was very understanding and downloaded the app I needed remotely so that I didn't miss it! Very clean and quiet. Would stay here again.

  • We liked the place it was clean and well maintained, doesn't have dishwasher neither washing and drying machine. For us that we needed the place just for sleep and have breakfast was fine. Is an interesting layout. It was a garage transformed into an apartment. Just a little bit noise from upstairs, you can hear when they flush the toilet or walk. The customer service is great, we couldn't figure out the heat and they answered pretty fast it was through the floor. We liked the place.
