  • We check-in after the place had a typhoon and electricity was out. It was beyond Maki's control. She prepared the necessities and candles for us. So our stay was pleasant and a totally different experience; unexpected. I will definitely return again...

  • Maki's lovely home by Lake Toya was a Wonderful Experience, for the family! We r just 20 steps to Lake Toya. Maki's garden landscaping was amazing, rock feature, flowers, shrubs. The township of Abuta-Toyako was small, has a number of eateries , convenience stalls.

In the end I would like to say thank you again to Maki!

  • Nice house with scenery . Very comfortable to stay.

    Cynthia2017-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • The house is very clean with nice decoration and the view is great. As the location is closed to nature, need prepare food in advance if don't have a car, but we also enjoyed our dinner at foot-warmer. We have been impressed by Maki san's thoughtful hosting, She recommended nice restaurant to us, drove us to Tenbodai when pickup, sent us to Mt. Usu ropeway station, and wrote to ask how is the trip after checkout. She did everything to make us feel at home. I look forward to go back again and stay more days in Toya!

  • nice, clean and newly built house located next to lake toya. Good and responsive owner. Easy to locate when drive from lake Toya - about 7 min drive for 7km distance to see firework at night.

    Kim Keong2015-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Makiko's place is comfortable and from the sitting area, we are able to see Lake Toya though partially covered with trees. However, as the place is pretty inaccessible, definitely need car to bring you there. There is a town nearby (10 mins drive) with onsen and food and fireworks (everyday for a few months in a yr)! Finally host is very responsive on all our queries and provided good recommendations.

    Gin2015-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, scenic, quiet. If you're looking for a get away this is the place for you. Maki's home came prepared with all that you will need with attention to details. She even prepared some famous Hokkaido snacks which we helped ourselves to. There are also local recommendations which helped us get around and enjoy the local scene. That said, lake toya at night is rather quiet. Town has not much activity. I think the main idea is to go to the hot springs. Thanks for taking care of us Maki!!

Makkari Onsen is nearby (~5 min), offering spectacular views and soothing water after a long day of skiing powder. If you stay for 2 weeks, we will include a free Makkari Onsen pass. Makkari also has restaurants, markets, and convenience stores.

  • We really enjoyed staying at Noboro's place. The whole family is very friendly, easy going and willing to help. Good choice to experience Niseko without living surrounded by tourists.

  • A great Airbnb! Noborusan is an excellent host who is happy to help out every day. He offers a free car for getting around, and has a very happy family. The location is in a beautiful rural setting right at the foot of Mt Yotei. It really doesn’t get any better than that! Nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Hirafu. Great house with spacious rooms. Niseko and Rusutsu are a short drive away, offering the world’s best powder snow. I would highly recommend Makkari Onsen. Perfect after a day of skiing, or on a lazy day. Lake Toya is also very close. Thank you for a great stay Noborukun! I will be back!

  • A great experience for anyone who's wanting to live in a traditional japanese house in Hokkaido! Very friendly and knowledgeable hosts! They also know how to cook a great Hot pot! And of course, you can't miss the breathtaking view of Mt Yotei every time you walk out of the house! (Weather permitting!)

  • It was a blast to stay at Noburus and his family, we really enjoyed it! you can also use a car to reach different places and for sure there are many beautiful places in Hokkaido to find the Japow!! Noburu also is the Takoyaki-King (Website hidden by Airbnb) of the greatest meals ever! thanks a lot!

    Lorenz2018-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Noboru's place. He and his family were very kind, we celebrated Noboru's birthday with him and we were able to use the car. We had a wonderful few days.

    Evelyn2017-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Noboru and his family (Mariko, Ataru, and Subaru) made such a concerted effort to be hospitable and welcoming that it didn't take long that we felt like family rather than guests. The house is large and we had plenty of space in our bedroom. There was fresh water on the bedside which was a lovely touch and coffee and tea in the living room right outside. We spent much of our mealtimes in their kitchen cooking and talking with the family. It just felt like such a comfortable family atmosphere, not like an Airbnb. Noboru also picked us up and drove us to wherever we wanted which was hugely important as the area is very remote. He responded quickly and was immediately there with a smile on his face. Strongest of recommendations. Go out of your way to stay with Noboru and his family.

This cabin is located between Hirafu and Niseko Village Resort. It has unbelievable views of Mt. Yotei! The loft space suits two people perfectly with two single folding beds, but can accommodate up to four people. The cabin has a well equipped kitchen, a TV (no cable), free WIFI and a washer and a dryer. You are well located to take advantage of some great restaurants in nearby Niseko town. However, please note though, you will need to rent a car with this property.
This location offers much more than just privacy and a unique character, it gives you the opportunity to experience the resorts from a different perspective, away from the crowds but close enough to enjoy all the amenities.
  • The location is fantastic with a good view, a short 5-10min drive to either Hirafu or Annupuri. The apartment was well equipped and stocked. Everything worked well, from the washer/dryer to the kitchen stove top and grill. There was hot water and good water pressure consistently. The WiFi always worked and was very strong. Lodge was extremely homey and beds were comfortable. The snow excavators come each morning during heavy snowfall to clear the driveway, so parking is not a problem. The owners Paul and Chris are incredibly professional and responsive. They went out of their way to help when we needed them. Would highly recommend this accommodation. We came as a family with two children aged 7 and 3 and stayed for 7 nights frequenting Hirafu, Annupuri and Kutchan.

  • Everything was perfect and exactly as advertised. The cabin looks exactly like the pictures and was very pleasant to stay at. Good communication from the owner.

  • No Track is a perfect accommodation for powder lovers. It is perfectly located in between two of the most prestigious resorts of Hokkaido and offers plenty of options for backcountry and powder snowboarding. Oka and his family welcomed us warmly and provided tons of useful advises that made our stay really enjoyable. I recommend it warmly to people whom main purpose is riding. Maybe not the most appropriate place if you want to enjoy Niseko night life

  • Notracks is a great place to stay. friendly staff, free shuttle to and from the mountain, and good vibes.

  • This lodge is perfect for those who’s main purpose is to enjoy Japanese powder. In between Rusutsu and Niseko, the location is perfect to go to one or the other depending on the snow conditions. The hosts are offering free shuttle service to go riding and will provide you a lot of tips to take the best out of your stay. Very calm and relaxing place. I definitely recommend it for travelers for whom the main purpose is riding powder. Thanks Oka-san and your family for your warm hospitality Cheers

  • I had a great time at NoTrack. Oka and his staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone staying in the Niseko area. It is about 15-20 minutes outside of Niseko Village, about halfway in between Niseko and Rusutsu. Overall, a great place.

    Ben2017-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • this place and the people are really warm. but like a hostel and value for this cheap price, communication is the hardest part, getting instruction from airport was quite tricky. also quite a distance from the resorts/convenience shop/restaurants , good if you are in a group and get a rental car, if not u have to go by the hostels pick up and drop of times which may not be ideal, also taxis r few and no clue how to call one. but if your trip is long and snowsports is all you came for, this isnt too bad

    Jeffrey2017-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay for a relaxing weekend! Good location and friendly staff that are always willing to help. The place is a little way of out of town so I would recommend having a car if you are going to stay there.

    Niseko-chō, Hokkaidō, Japan

Over the years we've hosted writers, photographers and musicians in this spacious, atmospheric one bedroom apartment. This winter, we're looking to open it up to the rest of the world visiting Niseko. Whether you're here to ski & snowboard, snowshoe through the forests (trails start in our backyard) or write a novel, the apartment mixes modern amenities & comforts with the intimacy and personal touches that will make our place in the Japanese mountains into the second home you've always wanted.
We are located at the entrance to the main hiking trail on Mt. Youtei, the towering volcano in our backyard, and the forest around the house is full of small animals, birds and our resident but elusive white Hokkaido owl. Our water source is directly from the volcano, so you are drinking clean volcanic spring water, and the surrounding private forest allows you to rest in tranquility and wake up to spectacular uninterrupted views.
Lake Hangetsu You can snowshoe around the beautiful crater lake in our backyard. The path starts from the top of the road and is about 2km around the lake in the winter. You can even go right down to the lake and during January and February when the lake is frozen, you can walk on the ice. The trail around the lake is not marked, so a guide is recommended.
  • We loved the place! It is a beautiful and tasteful loft with postcard-like surroundings. Fully equipped, it made us feel at home from the very first second. Ioanna, our host, was extremely helpful and kind at very moment. The house is ideally separated by a short distance by car to the villages of the area, so that one feels surrounded by nature while in the house, but close enough to civilisation when needed. Next time I come to Niseko, I will definitely try to book the same loft :-)

    Diego2017-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time staying at Ioanna and Hisashi’s place. The house looks much better than the photos, it filled with books and lots of personal touches. Ioanna and Hisashi were very kind and thoughtful. They’re 5 stars host!! Would definitely stay there again.

  • A superb designed house, beautifully decorated throughout, cozy fireplace, a breathtaking view of mountain and trees from the windows, relaxing bathroom... the apartment has everything we dreamed to have in our ski holiday. Plus Ioanna who offered to share everything they have.. thank you!!!! Highly recommend to anyone who seeks for a special stay in Niseko.

    Yoshimi2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Ioanna's place is stunning and the location can't be beat. It is minutes from Niseko United where you can snowboard or ski the best powder and a short walk to the Hanagetsu lake with an incredible view of Mt. Yotei. Ioanna is a generous and communicative host from beginning to end..she even left us snowshoes to trek to the lake. Staying at this loft is truly a winterwonderland.

    Akemi2017-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • There's a feeling about this place that makes it very special. To be in such a beautifully designed and appointed pad, in a forest, on the side of a volcano is an experience that we won't forget. Thank you.

  • Creators' Loft was a perfect summer vacation for me. I came from Tokyo for some peace and quiet to get some writing done and achieved just that. The loft is beautifully furnished in a stunning location; one of the nicest properties I've ever stayed in. Fresh flowers, vast music collection, great onsen nearby, an open fire, good local produce. What more could you need? Ioanna's directions were clear and easy and her recommendations were invaluable. 本当にありがとうございます。

  • Great house in a great location. The location is just about a 4 min drive to Hirafu which was perfect for us. The house is clean and warm and fairly well stocked. They could use a few more cooking utensils and a wine bottle opener, but other than that there were no major issues. I would recommend staying there if you are looking for an affordable house in the Hirafu area.

  • The Gardenhouse in Niseko is in a very silent surrounding. The distance to Niseko ski slope is about 7 km. The house is a very nice Gardenhous with good facilitys. Kento the owner is very friendly and is a real host who wants that your stay is perfect.

  • One of the best AirBnB experiences I've ever had. A lovely little garden bungalow tucked away in the calm, quiet and soulful village of Niseko. If you're a skier, it's a short drive to the slopes. If not, the village is the most authentic small and quaint experiences you can ask for. The space is simple and lovely. Kento is so responsive and helpful. He lives close by and quickly sprung to help when there was a small problem. I'm so glad I found this gem in such a lovely part of Japan.

I have created a space for someone who loves nature, camping, and unique experience. This glamping space is located inside my family property called Cottage BONGO in Niseko. Besides renting log house cottages, I have started offering glamping stay as well. In summer camping, there are tent with bed and small living space inside, tarp tent with BBQ set and washing table, compost toilet are inside a trailer house. Even if the listing is full, there are couple of similar tent as well.
Tipi stay sounds cold in winter Niseko. However, this sibley tent from canvascamp keeps inside warm. Heating system keeps inside warm all the time. There is also a nice share living space inside a main cabin which is next to the Tipi. The space has wood fire stove.
There is Milk Kobo about 5 minutes walk away. They offer large selection of milk based product as ice cream, cheese, sweets, pizza and lunch service. There is outdoor activity center as well. They offer water rafting, balloon, and bicycle rental.
  • Our stay with Yohei was fantastic! He was very friendly and accommodating from the minute we arrived in town and was more than happy to share his knowledge of the local area. Staying in the tipi was amazing and a highlight of our stay in the snow. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for something a little different.

  • Yohei is very friendly and accomodating. His mom is very nice and kind. We love the tentage experience and the view is stunning. The tentage is nicely setup and warm. We love the things around the house because it's unique and atique. We will definitely come again next winter to share this rare experience with friends and families.

    Matdy2016-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely night in Yohei’s tent and found ourselves incredibly cosy, despite being inches from the snow! In addition, we discovered a restaurant popular with locals that was one of the best meals of our entire trip. Yohei was incredibly accomodating and welcoming - we would definitely recommend staying here if your venturing to niseko!

  • Yohimbine and his family were very kind and knowledgeable about the area. Yohei-san picked me up near Niseko station and was able to provide valuable information on local shuttles and resorts.

    Eric2017-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a unique memorable experience. This is an amazing place to stay. Yohei is an extremely knowledgable and helpful host. The tent is very warm and spacious, you will have no problem sleeping comfortably after a long day of skiing. The location is good, there is a shuttle bus very close that goes to all resort locations. There is a large lounge space, kitchen, shower, toilets and a bar! There is electricity going to the tents as well as inside the lounge space. It is quiet and peaceful, away from the craziness that goes on at the resorts. I would recommend this place anyone with a spirit for adventure. Because of Yohei we had an amazing vacation. I am very thankful for his kindness. I would recommend this place to anyone planning on going to Niseko.

  • Amazing sunrise & Mt Yotei view. Very near to Milk Kobo and host were kind to pick us up and drop us off. Definitely a much needed ride due to heavy snow... the stay in Tipi Tent is an experience one will never forget. There is a whole huge land as your playground. We enjoyed so much that we didnt want to get out. Thanks for the great time : )

  • As we drive there quite late, cant be sure if we are driving at the right direction. Overall stay is good with well communication and guidance. Also, the upper deck of the house can be quite dangerous for small kids and elderly, not so recommended for groups with young and seniors. Host is thoughtful to provide good guidance to reach her house but still we feel is too deep inside for us.

  • Very lovely and cozy cottage with full amenities. Very spacious and well decorated. Good for family or a group of friends. Very private and close to nature. Recommend to buy foods and drink before reaching the house since there is no restaurant or convenient store nearby. Accessing during heavy can be a challenge unless you have a 4WD.

  • My family and I had a great stay in Nami's house. Yuki is a great host and gave us local tips during the trip. As we went during winter, there was snowstorm by the time, and the place is a bit hard to be access. However, overall is good, clean and comfortable. Recommended if you visit during other season.

    Stella2017-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • For most of our party of 6 person it was a first time experience staying in a log cabin. It was thoroughly enjoyable. The hosts went out of her way to ensure we reached the place without getting lost. Would definitely recommend this place for its seclusion.

  • Nami's cabin was excellent - it's very spacious, quiet, clean and had everything we needed for a 4 night stay by the lake. The cabin is situated in a secluded spot just above the small town of Toyako (25 minutes walk to centre) and 15 minutes walk from the lake and an excellent public onsen. The town is very quite with most places close by six and some only open weekends so best come prepared with groceries. Although we didn't meet Nami in person, directions, instructions and check-in was straightforward and he was super helpful when we had questions. We can highly recommend Nami's cabin and would have no hesitation to book his place again!

  • Such a warm and cosy cottage! Perfect getaway for a quiet Christmas with family. If you have a big group and don't mind sharing 1 single toilet (surprisingly our group of 11 managed well!), the cottage is great. It is rustic and warm..and the children loved their own provate space in the loft area.It is quite difficult to find even with GPS and (Hidden by Airbnb) maps so you really need to follow Nami's pictures/PDF. Make sure you come during the daytime as it is difficult to find at night. You need to have your own car as transport is not easy in the area. The cottage is not really central so expect to travel out a bit to get to Lake Toya. It is very basic and rustic, so don't expect hotel amenities. Quite quaint and lovely..and we truly appreciated Nami's helpful advice and directions.

  • Clarke is a legend and one of the best hosts I have had to deal With! He answered any questions we had and his home is perfect in hirafu area! I would re book this spot in a heart beat! In fact! I already have and will be back there in couple days! Stoked!

  • Even though we didn't meet in person but he regularly answered my questions. We drove to his house and he told every important information direct to his house. I think visit his house driving is the best way to get there. His house's very nice, cozy and warmy. Definitely to back your place again.

  • Best place to stay! Definitely need a car but apart from that it's a great location. Clarke is very responsive and offers two skiing passes which is a plus.

    Mond2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • Clarke’s house was perfect for us during our stay in Niseko. It was in a great, quiet location but access to the main town of Hirafu and the slopes was made easy by having use of the 4x4 van provided by Clarke. This was a huge plus for us as was the Grand Hirafu ski passes left for our use. The house itself was in great condition when we arrived. It had everything we needed for our stay to be comfortable. I’d recommend this house to anyone visiting Niseko. Clarke was a great host.

    Yvette2018-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the Clark house in December just before Christmas. Clark is a very hospitable host and we received great support from him during our stay. It should be noted that we communicated with him remotely via Whatsap. The house is very nice and warm and has absolutely everything for life. When we arrived I was amazed at the level of trust Clark and tried to justify this confidence during our stay One important recommendation to future guests: you need to have a car (to rent) because the house is 2.7 km from the Ski Lifts of Niseko village and removed from public transport routes. Since the house is located next to the hotel Chalet Country Resort - you can arrange to use their regular Shuttle bus (for a fee) Overall we loved it and I recommend everyone use this house.

  • Great home for our young family, who enjoyed building snowballs & Snowmen in front of the house, as much, if not more, than the slopes a few minutes walk away! We left our gear in the token operated lockers at the resort each day (tokens with concierge in the Resort) which made the days much easier. Restaurant street (I think 6) just a few minutes walk, and the resort just a couple minutes further. Our 6 days went rather quickly!

  • Maiko's place is a hidden gem near Rusutsu, Niseko and Toyako. The place is quiet and lovely, with carefully decorated house and rooms that you cannot find elsewhere. The place is 20 mins drive from Rusutsu ski resort. Hot Japanese style bath is a perfect relief after full day ski or snowboarding. The most important part is the host. Maiko is one of the most friendly and responsible host. Her food is so delicious that you should not definitely have a try. The communication with Daisuke is effective and responsive. We will choose Maiko's place next time when we go to Rusutsu.

    Nicole2018-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was the highlight of our 3 weeks in Hokkaido, the place is a fascinating old elementary school that has been renovated into a museum and a airbnb with a restaurant. Just walking around the long hallways was an experience. Also try out the pool room and their own home-made onsen if you decide to here. Maiko was such a great host that we were sad to leave, but we are definitely coming back.

    Jens2017-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Maiko’s place is one of a kind! We enjoyed playing with her children, appreciating the paraphenalia in the old schoolhouse. Be sure to get your meals here because it was a treat! The onsen style bathroom was a pleasure to use in the bitter winter cold. Please note to dress appropriately as the halls do not have heating (which is understandable as the the hallway is incredibly long) and it can get quite cold. Maiko is an incredibly strong woman and we are thankful that she and her friends are opening up this gem to us.

  • Wonderful place. Host is very kind and children are cute. Delicious food and comfortable bedroom made much joy for us. The house is in rural far from urban area, but the nice kindful host took us for the house as well as ski feild, she was very kindful , virtuous and particular Japanese type housewife. The house is far from urban area, but the facilities are full equipped. Makes people want to live there in seclusion.

  • Very unique, large and romantic space close to Rhusutsu mountain. The bed was very comfortable, the heater effective and we loved the decoration. I have never stayed anywhere like Maiko's museum. I would highly recommend eating as many meals as you can there. Her breakfast and dinner were healthy and very delicious and the price was very reasonable, definitely more affordable then eating out, and great authentic Japanese food. Not to mention the ambiance of her cafe: fireside jazz in a cabin cafe, pure heaven. We will be back every time we come to Rhusutsu, no doubt.

A cute, comfortable & charming getaway located in the heart of the popular ski destination of Niseko, right in Hirafu village. This 1 BR cottage is perfectly located to embrace all of the restaurants/bars/lifts/bustops the village has to offer. Located about 2.3km from the base of the main lifts with great views from the main bedroom to Mt Youtei
Outside of the busy village main streets and in a quieter corner of Hirafu. Easy access to the ski lifts and Kutchan (10 min drive). There's a collection of great little bakeries, coffee and lunch options - all within 2-3 min walk.
There are several local restaurants within walking distance. I've marked these on the map included in the information PDF.
  • Aaron was super helpful, provided a constant stream of information about the house and surrounding area, and went out of his way to make sure everything we needed was taken care of... we loved staying at Azza's place and will definitely come back to stay here again...

  • We had a great stay at the White House! It was very cosy and warm. The house was well equipped with everything we needed- especially the kitchen. Aaron left a manual with very clear instructions, which was helpful! The view out the window every morning was stunning! We ended up using the east village bus (stop 26) to get into town because it came every 15 minutes. This was about a 10-15 minute walk away. For this reason we left skiing equipment in lockers near the hirafu gondola. The bus system is very straight forward, however if you don't like buses you may want to stay more centrally or rent a car. Thanks for having us Aaron!

  • Aaron's house is awesome! The location is as picturesque as you will find and perfect if you want your own private accommodation. The house is just out of town, which is within walking distance if you don't mind a stroll, or there is local buses and regular free resort shuttles nearby. Aaron was a great host and provided all the information we needed for our arrival, and was always quick to respond and offer any tips during our stay. Thanks very much mate, we had a ball! Highly recommend and would love to return!

  • Niseko is definitely one of my favourite places to stay in the world. Finding Aaron's extremely well kept, highly optioned and fully self contained with washing machine, stove tops, large shower and living/sleeping areas. (Large by Japanese standards) was a bonus. Brilliant wifi, heater and all the tools you need to have a great stay (including a Netflix account). Aaron is an accomplished photographer and local who will easily give you some tips and hints on what to do. Thanks again Aaron! See you next time ^_^

  • We had a great stay at Aaron's house. The house was just as described and the location was great. Just far enough to feel a little out of town but very close none the less. We had zero issues and with the information packet provided the learning curve for using the appliances and heaters, etc was seamless. It was nice to have such a great view from the bedroom as well. I would stay here again and would definitely recommend it for couples looking for a nice and affordable place in Hirafu.

  • We had an absolutely marvellous time staying at Ivan's chalet in Rusutsu. The chalet was warm, comfortable and well designed. The Onsen was particularly welcome after long days on the slopes. The chalet is conveniently located. Only a ten minute walk from the North Entrance to the hotel, and closer to restaurants and bars like Yatakori and Rodeo Drive (both highly recommended). We found that hiring a locker in the hotel (¥300) was the best option for not carting skis and boots back and forth. This is a great option for those wishing to enjoy Rusutsu's phenomenal skiing - without the madness of the resort hotel.

    Oliver2016-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic house near Rusutsu resort. Ski resort is 5 minutes by car and a few restaurants / convenient store are walking distance. Ivan has been a fantastic host when we were preparing our trip to Rusutsu. You can expect quick and precise feedback from him. Our group had a great experience communicating with him. I strongly recommend this facility!

    Sébastien2016-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We spent four nights at Ivan's chalet in Rusutsu and couldn't have asked for a better experience all-round. There were three of us, which seemed like a good fit; not sure if we would have been as comfortable with extra guests staying, even though there is sleeping arrangements for more if needed. Everything from our initial enquiry, Ivan's communication and the check-in process was handled brilliantly. Anna, who helped us throughout our stay was extremely helpful and obliging. The chalet itself has a beautiful outlook with quiet surrounds and is within easy walking distance to The Pirateman restaurant; we ate there every night - food was great and the vibe was casual and fun. There are a couple of other smaller places to eat nearby, but they fill up quickly and it's a good idea to book well in advance. The local Seicomart and 7/11 are about a 8-10 minute easy walk away, enough supplies for breakfast and snacks. It's about a 10 minute walk to the resort and subsequently the lifts, something to keep in mind if you're lugging gear every day. It was easy for us and we didn't mind the trek. Having a vehicle would definitely be a bonus if you can arrange one - mostly for driving to a larger supermarket if you plan on staying for a longer period and/or if you don't fancy the walk to the lifts each day. The local car rental is closed in winter so you'll need to hire out of Hirafu or the airport in Sapporo. Will definitely be back, hope to stay again next season. Thanks Ivan and Anna!

  • We spent 2 night at the chalet ,it was excellent experience, and it is easy to access to the Rusutsu resort it is very clean and good furnished ! I love here very much , we have everything here as we need, and it is very comfortable and warm house Anna is very nice and responsive she picked us up at bus station, it was very helpful and she helped us everything we need. Thank you so much

  • The chalet is ideally located at a 5 min walking distance from the Rusutsu resort ski lift. This newly build and well maintained chalet is very clean, and offers all expected confort and amenities. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and the nice views on the surrounding mountains. Our hosts, Ivan and Anna were utmost helpful and professional, making several arrangements and giving many tips on things to do and places to visit in the area. If you plan to visit some remote onsen and alternative ski resorts it would be advised to rent a car. Rusutsu is a gem for skiers of all levels. Rusutsu resort offers slopes for beginning to advanced skiers, as a wide controlled forest 'off-piste' playground between the runs. Outside the limits of the resort, Rusutsu offers extensive touring and backcountry skiing opportunities. Some will bring you straight back to the chalet. Snow conditions are exceptional. For dining a good option is Pirateman izakaya which is just at a 2 min walk from the chalet. 24/7 Convenience stores can be found at a 5 min walking distance.

  • Great chalet in Rusutsu! We arrived and was greeted by Anna who also works at the pirateman 200 meters down the road, I think we met her every night as we went to the pirateman for beers and teriyaki chicken. Ivan gave us good information before we came to rusutsu and had left beers in the fridge, always a good thing with scandinavians. We skied, played Jenga, had beers on the porch and enjoyed ourselves in the slightly surreal resort.

  • Had an awesome time in this house! Very warm during the winter, and Yoshi made it very easy- picking us up from the train station, and even giving us a very reasonable rate for a ride into Sapporo to our next airbnb. Would definitely recommend!

  • The cabin was rally warm and very welcoming. The snow was just fantastic and Yoshi's place is very well located. Having the car was great. Thank you Yoshi for a wonderful holiday.

  • Great cabin. Could use some board games as we couldn't get the TV to work but overall a very good place and the car was amazing to have and Yoshi picked us up on time from the Niseko welcome centre and had his friend drive us to the airport for a good price.

  • Lovely log cabin, well equiped, comfortable bedding, all that we needed in the kitchen. We travelled with kids and we were fine, but i would warn against this cabin if you have a toddler due to the fall hazard. Yoshi does not always respond to messages in writting, but sorted out everything we needed. Nice place to stay!

  • The cottage was great. 5min drive to our skiing place. The steps were covered in snow and we have difficulty getting to the cottage. However we were fortunate to meet one of the neighbours who helped us clear a path to the cottage. Overall the stay was pleasant and i will not hesistate to come back again.

  • It was great staying at Yoshi's place. It was very convenient having a car to get around. The house is very close to the ski resorts by car and the supermarket in Kutchan is easily accessible. The house is also very cosy and warm. Thanks Yoshi!

  • We had a great stay in Niseko. Even though it was not the best snow conditions this winter, it was definitely worth the trip from Norway. The house was perfect for our group of eight people. Top standard, cool and comfortable furniture, well equipped kitchen. It was actually better than the pictures told us. It lays in a quiet area with view to Mt Yotei. What made the stay from very good to great, was having the 9-seater available. It makes the daily logistics to the ski areas simple and efficient, and it makes it a lot easier to experience Japan in the evenings. The Niseko Village is very expensive and not all authentic Japanese, but a 10 min drive to Kutchan could offer great Japanese cuisine and onsen, to the standard "happier" Japanese prizes. The combination of it all made our experience perfect. Ashley is a great host, friendly and helpful. She could help us with advises, transportation from/to the airport and discounted ski passes. We will come back

    Tonje2017-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had a great stay at the Kabayama house. The apartment looks even more beautiful in actuality. We loved the facilities that were provided and having a Netflix account was a plus point. Ashley replies to messages very promptly and did not hesitate to help us when we faced a small problem. We will definitely go back if we were to visit Niseko again. :)

    Mabel2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, well spec'd and fitted out. We really enjoyed the house. Be aware though, if you want to get into town without using the van (if you're after a few drinks, or are a group in multiple parts), it's quite hard to get a cab, so be prepared for a 30-40min walk. The van makes up for this if someone is happy to drive. Aside from this, great place!

    Jeremy2017-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The house was fantastic. New house with a modern fit out able to accommodate 7 male adults easily. Ashley and his team were very responsive and helpful. The house was a little way, 2km, out of town but the complimentary van came with the house made up for this as we were able to drive everywhere. Would highly reccomend this accomadation and Ashley as host.

  • 7 nights at the Kabayama house was flawless! This house is simply perfect for family trip! We spent some quality family time in this house during the golden week holiday. It's off season, but it's even better. Our kids were too young for the rafting, but the parks, Niseko village, horseback riding, etc. were lots of fun! 1-2 hours driving we could also visit Otaru and Sapporo for some city sightseeing. And thanks for the Netflix access, 7 consecutive movie nights after the kids slept!! We definitely want to stay here again on our next visit!

  • Maiko is a lovely host. The accomodation is huge, there is everything you need. A parking, private onsen, restaurant etc. It was the last stop of our skiing trip in Hokkaido, and it couldn't have been better. The food cooked by Maiko and her mother was great and portions were large enough after a tiring day of skiing. Location is good as we've been able to go different places from there within 1hr drive: Noboribetsu onsen, toyako lake, rusutsu ski resort, niseko or even kiroro. If we come back in Hokkaido, we would definitely make another stop here! Thanks again for your warm and friendly welcome. Take care.

    Renaud2017-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! I came here twice on my trip to Hokkaido just because it was so enjoyable to stay here.

    Luke2018-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Before even reaching the house, I was already moved to tears by Maiko. As a first-time lone traveller in Sapporo, I was very unprepared and became lost with a dead phone. The last communication I had with Maiko was that I will reach her place very late and she offered to pick me up at a station which turns out to be a 50min drive away. I misunderstood the station's timetable and told her I'd arrive at 9.30pm. Then, my phone died. I started becoming anxious as I realised the train haven't reached the station even well after 10.00pm and by the time it reached, which was over 11.00pm I was prepared to spend the night at the station. When i exited the station, I saw Maiko! She had the most genuine and relieved smile that I felt incredibly moved and ashamed. She drove me back to her place and asked if I was alright along the way. This should tell you a little about how kind Maiko is (Website hidden by Airbnb) Maiko's house is another place all together, it was a mish mash of antiques and vintage items that all seamlessly complemented one another. Her children are a treat to be with and the futon is fantastic to sleep in! Her cooking is delicious as well and I think it's the best value you can get for accomodation around here! It does get very cold during winter night outside the rooms so do take note on that.

  • Secluded & unique! Great base for exploring the area. Excellent food!!! Breakfast and dinners, be sure to eat Maiko’s meals! Share room basic, but all amenities there. Bathroom a ways down the hall and one bath, very unique and relaxing, for all guests.

  • Maiko is an incredible host and her place is charming and homey! We loved every minute of our stay including the homemade meals and classical vinyl records.

  • Great place with wonderful decoration. Maiko is really great and helpful.

    Antoine2017-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Maiko’s place. It’s really interesting, full of details. Dinner was great! There was a place for drying ski equipment. The only problem was that the halls were not heated and it was -30 outside, so it was a bit cold but the other rooms were nice and warm :)

    Urša2018-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • A very unique place to stay! Perfect place as a ski dorm for budget travelers. Recommended to have your own car. Maiko was the BEST host! Her family was so sweet and her cooking was excellent. I enjoyed my stay. Keep in mind this is located in a farming area and the building is unique (but old). Bring warm clothes and remember this is a budget place (but so cool!)

  • The perfect location. Super new and cosy apartment. I can highly recommend it. The two hosts are wonderfu. and so are their kids and their dog. We had a great time and felt very welcome. We enjoyed having our daily tea downstairs in the green tea café. Communication was very good and Stephanie is very helpful as well. I can highly recommend it for any guest. I would definitely return.

  • This place is magic. First super well located, Hirafu village is the best place in Niseko's area. Then the home is clean, chic and stephanie and jun the host our discrete and polite and helpful. You can be either 5 or 1 in that place you will feel at home.

    alexandra2016-04-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of 3 (two adults & our 6yo son) stayed at Greensaso in early January 2017 for 6 nights. The property is located between Grand Hirafu and Niseko Village, a short 10 min walk from the town of Hirafu, and a 2 minute walk to the closest Niseko Shuttle bus stop. The walk is easy, relaxing & scenic, we often did the walk multiple times a day. Our son attended the NISS ski school, which had drop off / pick up from next to The Vale / The Aya and the Ace Family Chair lift, NBS ski rental is located right there also. We were able to store skis, etc. at NBS overnight, so walking to & from the apartment was fuss (& ski equipment) free. The apartment is absolutely delightful, very modern, warm and inviting and easily accommodated the 3 of us. The views of Mt Yotei, the Grand Hirafu slopes at night and the surrounding forest are incredible and one of the many rewarding features of the property. And being a little out of the town meant that it was always quiet and relaxing when at the apartment. Other great features are the climbing wall to the upstairs bedroom (a big hit with our 6 year old), the tatami mat area, the upstairs loft bedroom and downstairs drying room for snow gear, and the small kitchen has everything you need for your stay. Whilst we didn’t use it, an outdoor spa/hot tub was available, at a per use cost of approximately 3500 yen (with advance [same day] notice required). Stephanie and Jun are lovely, and were very helpful & communicative from booking and initial check-in through to our departure. They went out of their way to make us feel at home without being intrusive. We loved having the chance to sample some tea at the adjoining tea house cafe (Stephanie’s knowledge here is fantastic), and had some great discussions with Jun regarding his snow boarding and photography. All up we loved our stay at Greensaso and highly recommend the property. We cannot wait to return to Niseko and Greensaso!

    Jude2017-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Jun were very hospitable and accomodating during our stay at Green Saso. We arrived at Hirafu Welcome Center in the evening and Jun was there to fetch us to the apartment which was a 15-20min walk ( depending on your speed ). Jun also sent us to the welcome center on the day of check-out! It is advisable to call a cab otherwise as snowy conditions can make the roads and pavements slippery and inconvenient for some. The walk to the nearest ski lift (family lift for beginners) was about 10-15 minutes away, mild up slope and maybe 20-30 minutes for hirafu base/welcome center. The lodge was really cozy, clean and neat, with a nice tatami space to sleep on as well as a queen size bed on the upper floor. For anyone looking to whip up a mini meal for breakfast, there is a heat induction stove, toaster and microwave machine available to be used. It is unfortunate that we did not get to try the tea at the greensaso tea house because we were out the entire day, everyday, but we do hope we will get to try it on our next visit! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a peaceful neighborhood and doesn't mind long walks, because the walking can be a turn off to some. Once again thank you so much Stephanie and Jun and we hope to see you soon on our next niseko travels! (P.s the coffee at the mountain kiosk coffee stand beside the welcome center is really good!)

    Nicholas2017-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stephanie and Jun were great hosts. Myself and 4 friends stayed here whilst on vacation and were very happy with the location, accomodation and the hospitality. Plenty of room for all our snow gear and the space was very comfy. Try visiting stephanie in the cafe below for a drink as well because everything is delicious. I would definitely recommend staying here!

    Dean2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoy staying in Stephanie house for 2 nights. It was a short distance about 5 mins from the ski resort the we went for ski. Stephanie is a warmest house owner that we ever meet, she is very helpful from the time we reached the house, having a talk with us & also offer us some drinks that made by herself. I must said that the drinks that she made was superb! She managed the little cafe right under the Airbnb. The room was really great. Spacious with the best view facing the mountain. We enjoy our stay in Stephanie house & definitely will come back to Niseko again next time!

This is a combination of glamping tent and trailer house. Trailer house has kitchen, toilet, and living space inside. There is shower room in other house. Glamping tent is the sleeping space with king bed, sofa, and table inside. Staying inside a cotton tent throughout the all season of Niseko is a very unique experience. I offer one of the most memorable outdoor stay in Niseko for those who are looking for unique, adventurous, and local stay.
This is like a small village area with 2 container house and 4 tipi style tent. 2 container has its own kitchen, living space and toilet. Tent has a king bed, sofa, and desk.
My place has really good view of Niseko resort mountain. It is in the middle of open field so it is very spacious.

  • We enjoyed staying at Maiko's very much. The place is a renovated schoolhouse filled with antiques. Maiko cooks delicious home cooked meals and we felt very welcome. Our room was heated by a wood stove. Guests here should have an open mind and be ready to go with the flow.

  • Maiko's inn is surreal and charming; a converted schoolhouse that is now a rustic inn and museum. The wood stove in our room was stoked and hot when we arrived and then again the next evening when we returned from skiing. Maiko's cooking is health, delicious, and plentiful; a great value. We enjoyed our mornings and evenings in the warm parlor listening to an appealing variety of music on vinyl LPs and chatting with guests from around the world about their ski adventures. This stay was a wonderful exposure to Japanese culture. Maiko's children are charming and outgoing. We would absolutely stay here again.

  • Unique place to stay to shred / discover the Rusutsu area. The food is amazingly good & cheap - breakfast & dinner were outstanding! Maiko is the best authentic host you can ever wish to have (she was starting the fire in our room before we arrive after a long day on the slopes). It's definitely better/easier if you have a car since it's about 20min from Rusutsu. I highly recommend this place! Thank You Maiko for opening doors to your house - this amazing school / museum :)

  • The place was easy to find with all the explanations and info to be entered in the GPS. However, you cannot go there without a car. It is well located near the main ski resorts but also amazing natural wonders from Hokkaido. The place is great, with a very unusual and unique decoration. It can get cold during the winter, and you will have to take care of the wood stove in your bedroom to keep the room warm. Maiko is very welcoming, and her cooking was very good. It is definitively nice place to stay!

    Laure2017-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • This renovated elementary school is a feast for the senses. Collections and school items are on the walls and in rooms. There is something to look at everywhere. You need to be easy-going and ready for unique and quirky in order to truly appreciate this B&B for the fun it offers. We loved the wood stove in our room and enjoyed the hand-made ofuro (public bath - but you could lock it for privacy) so much. It is a shared toilet area and the hallways are not heated so keep that in mind. We enjoyed our evenings in the lounge listening to wonderful records and paid Maiko-San to make us breakfast and dinner each night. It was 20 minutes to Rusutsu ski resort.

Conveniently located in Rusutsu village, a 3 minute walk to the bus & 5 minute drive to some of the best powder in the world. Newly renovated and furnished. Fantastic for self catering families and small groups who want all the comfort of home.
This house is located on the edge of the traditional village of Rusutsu and just a 5 minute local bus ride to the ski resort. Completely renovated and furnished in 2015, we set this house up for our two families to have a 'snow home' in Japan. There are 4 private bedrooms, an extra not-so-private room, 2 living rooms, a full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, storage shed and garden. On the main floor you'll find a large entrance area where you can store boots, skis, snowboards. Main Living Space - comfy sitting for for 10 people around a big dining table. There is a fire place with racks to dry your gear. We set up the kitchen to cater to our big families, and you will have no trouble finding what you need to prepare a great meal. There are shops near by, and groceries are easy to grab. There are two bedrooms on the main floor, each with a double bed. There is a full bathroom on the main floor as well, with the toilet, sink and bath/shower all contained in separate rooms - making it easy to share among several people. Upstairs there are two private bedrooms. The bunk room has a double bed, a single bed, and our bunk beds which we have futons for. The kids love sleeping here. The room also functions as another lounge area. There is a single bed tucked in an alcove in the hallway. Its warm and has a beautiful view. There is a brand new, full bathroom upstairs, with traditional style Japanese bath and shower areas. The upstairs family room is our 'kid zone'. We set it up with low seating and a traditional kotatsu table. This means, the coffee table has a built in heater underneath, and a fleecy blanket that slips under the table top to provide a skirt. Its the ultimate place to flop down and watch a movie with warm toes and hot chocolate. There is also a traditional tatami room upstairs with 2 single beds.
Rusutsu is an incredible ski hill. Over 14 meters of annual powder and tons of terrain. It is the largest single resort in Hokkaido and sees far fewer tourists than Niseko which means less time waiting in lines and much more fresh powder. Our house is located is the center of Rusutsu town very close to a SPAR convenience store and small local restaurant and large fresh produce market - 'Michinoeki 230 Rusutsu' All are just a few minutes walk as well as the town post office and the local bus stop. The town bus runs once per hour during the ski season and delivers you to the ski hill in about five minutes for under $3 (2.5km away). You can also take the bus all the way to Kutchan to explore more shopping and dining options. The lift tickets at Rusutsu resort are very affordable - usually under $50 USD. Our house is a three minute walk to the local bus stop which takes you to the resort in under five minutes. The bus runs at 9am daily and again at noon and returns a few times through the afternoon and evening.
  • Good experience and beautiful house for a big family to stay

  • I like the ambience of Denton’s place. It was serene, cosy and very comfortable. The house is also very big for my pax of 5. I like that the basic amenities like towels were provided. It was also great having the Bluetooth speaker, fire stove in the living room.

  • Denton made the whole process so easy and comfortable. Everything you need is either there or a guide to how to easily get it is there. Has great suggestions for cars and food and day trips. If you are going to Rusutsu go to Dentons

    Dale2017-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, close to everythings. Very value stay for ski trip. Denton gave very details info about house and around.

    Arida2017-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Denton's place is delightful for families and groups of friends. The picture of the outside belies the clever use of space inside and means there is plenty of room for the 12 person occupancy Denton suggests, if it is a couple (or 3) families. Cheers.

  • Denton was super responsive to all my communications. All questions answered within hours.

  • We had a great time in Denton's house. Stayed a total of 5 nights as this was our base to explore the Niseko and Lake Toya area. Denton was very helpful and sent us information (before our arrival), giving details on the internet password, supermarkets, restaurants and even onsens around the area. The house was very comfortable and was as per the photos. We were a party of 4 (although the house can accommodated a lot more people) and loved having the use of 2 toilets and baths. The house manager, Anna was extremely helpful. She met us and brought us to the house and even booked the restaurant and activities for us - she has been in Japan for 15 years. Lastly, the kitchen was well equipped as we cooked a couple of meals there - not used to having to eat early as a lot of restaurants closed by 8pm). In all, we were glad we choose to stay in Denton's house. We loved the view of Mount Yotei from the house - on a clear day!

  • We didn't meet Chris but confirmed our arrival on the phone. We had the whole place for ourselves, in a very quiet area and new accommodation, was good.

  • Matcha Lodge is great place. This new lodge is very comfortable. The kitchen is clean and good usability.I love awesome panoramic view of Mt Yotei from kitchen dining. I stayed on the 2nd floor. Builders and constructors stayed on the 1st floor. They smoke inside house and sometimes smelled. I’ve never met Cris.I contacted him by phone and short mail. He handled everything with kindness and quickness. It’s better to contact him in advance before coming.

  • Chris's place is awesome! In the winter it is lodging for ski instructors so it's set up perfectly to accommodate visitors in the summer, with lots of space, kitchen equipment, sinks/toilets/showers. The view of Mt. Yotei from the kitchen/dining space is beautiful, everything was sparkling clean, and Chris & Emma were quick to communicate and even helped us with transportation when one of our busses got cancelled. The area is best suited for cars but we took the JR train to a not-very-frequent local bus, and then rented bikes to get around the area. Chris recommended a couple of great restaurants and a friendly gear rental shop in town, which made our too-short stay in Hirafu delightful. We highly recommend this Airbnb!

Kokage “the house among the trees” is the ideal snow house in Japan's premier powder snowfields currently undergoing a complete internal renovation including all new furniture & appliances ready for this coming winter. This distinctive Hirafu, Niseko home is spacious and comfortable, with generous dimensions and a welcoming feel, within walking distance of cosy eateries
Kokage is the Hirafu area’s original 'konkuriito', designed by a renowned Japanese architect. • There are four bedrooms: 2 rooms can be set up to have 1 queen bed or 2 single beds each. The 3rd room has a bunk bed and 4th room is a tatami room sleeping up to 4 on Japanese futons. • Ground floor bathroom has a shower, bath, vanity and toilet. Then an additional toilet separated fromt he main bathroom. • Upstairs bathroom features a shower, vanity and toilet. • The open-plan lounge room overlooks the garden, the sunken dining area and the spacious kitchen
The house is located in the quiet and secluded enclave of the top part of lower Hirafu village. It is just minutes from the first ski lifts and is on the shuttle bus route to the upper lifts and gondola (a 10-minute ride away). Not only will guests live the powder snow dream, with some of the best snow on the planet, this is a beautiful part of the world for couples, groups and families to holiday in. It's a short and enjoyable walk to the many cafes and restaurants: a huge range is available - from Japanese home-style eateries featuring local specialties, to amazing Michelin-starred restaurants. And it is very easy to source great local and international produce from the village providores to cook up a feast in the well equipped kitchen. Just across the road is a renowned Onsen. There is a big range of cultural, fitness and entertainment options also available, although we know you're really just here to ski and board the beautiful powder snow!
  • The house is very spacious, the kids love it! We enjoyed our holiday in Niseko vey much! It is close to everything! Very convenient!

  • We were lucky to stay here for the whole month August. The house was modern, spacious and well equipped, although some of the appliances needed to be fixed or replaced. We did not have any cleaning or laundry service during our stay, so we had to wash towels and bed linens ourselves, which took us some time. Niseko was quite calm in summer season and most restaurants were closed at night. However, we enjoyed hiking, rafting, driving and variety of onsen nearby. If you have a car, you could take a 10 minutes drive to neighboring town Kuchan, where you can find large supermarkets and cook home. The weather wasn't as great as we had expected, with scattering showers every once in a while, which kept the house humid. We got ourselves a circulator to dry out and get some breeze when there was none, but there were only couple days we felt hot in this house. It was very cool at night, so if you feel hot in daytime, you can just get out and enjoy activities! There were a lot of construction going around, so I think it would be more lively in winter time. We enjoyed a short walk to few nice cafes that were open for breakfast and lunch, so it was OK for our family who like to stay home at night. All in all, there are enough things to do even in summer time. There are some nice beaches in one and a half hour drive, for swimming, sea kayaking and SUP!

  • My friend and I had a great time staying here. The house is beautiful, well-equipped, and close to the village and the slopes. The owners are helpful and quick to respond to questions. And, to top it off, the house has a great view of Mt. Yotei!

  • very nice house, it's exactly the same as it describes; easy access to the shuttle bus which would lead you everywhere in the village. highly recommend to every snowtroopers. 很好的房子,交通方便走路5分钟就是shuttle bus的站点,设施齐全,暖气充足,非常推荐。

  • What a fantastic place!!! This house is huge. Nestled in the back streets of Hirafu but well and truly in walking distance to shops, cafes, restaurants and onsen. If you're feeling active its about 900m to the base of the mountain, otherwise you can just hop on the courtesy bus that stops about 50m away from the doorstep. The house itself is fully equipped - from bedding, to linen, towels and kitchen. Like I mentioned before, it is a big house with very large rooms. We fit 8 people comfortably with the aid of the futons found in the wardrobes. Booking and clarifying arrangements with CM was quick and easy. The cleaner even gave us a lift to the bus stop with all our bags. I will definitely be staying here again

  • Jojo, the new owner of the house was super helpful to organise a super smooth arrival. He put us in contact with the management company so we could send our luggage in advance. On the check-in day the luggage was waiting in the house. He was super easy to communicate with, reacting almost instantly when we had questions. We missed a few things in the kitchen and contacted Jojo, he arranged with the management company and within a few hours they came over with all those items. The house is spacious, cozy and warm, we felt at home and enjoyed our stay. We would love to return next season. Thank you Jojo!

  • Kokage is a spacious and very comfortable house, well located in Hirafu for an onsen, lots of restaurants and the local shuttle to the foot of the slopes. The house is well equipped with bedding and towels. Our host, Jojo, was very responsive, checking with us after we arrived: keen to make sure we had everything that we needed . The management team from Holiday Niseko were great; excellent communication and service. The house worked well for us, a group of 9 family and friends.

Heaters were great and warm, place is clean with everything you need. Would recommend a car rental if you are staying here as it is quite a far walk to the hirafu skiing area. Bottom line is would return back to stay when i back here for snowboarding!
