“Fresh is best There’s no better way to finish off a day of swimming in the refreshing, salty beaches of Kingscliff than with dinner at Sea Salt Italian Ristorante. As the name suggests, this restaurant is all about offering freshness on a plate – and it delivers. The menu is classically Italian, full of tasty gems and perfect for sharing. Start off light with some antipasto and the piatto misto: a mix of freshly cooked seafood including prawns, scallops and calamari. Then try one of the glorious pastas (such as the ravioli tartufo, which comes in a velvety butter sauce) or risottos. If you are sticking with the sharing thing, then definitely keep plenty of room for the excellent hand-rolled pizzas, available as either classico (like the ever popular margherita) or gourmet (like the lamb with roasted capsicum, fontina cheese, fresh rocket and red onion salad). If you are looking to try something a bit different, go for one of the ‘white pizzas’, which come without tomato sauce but are topped with delicious options such as potato and truffle cream, or a luxurious mix of four cheeses. Best dish: Risotto gigante gamberi”

“IGA at Salt is perfect for quick grocery items and is located on the other side of the corridor coming out of the exit from the foyer at Mantra at Salt Beach. A couple of minutes walk through the Hotel foyer and you are there. Larger grocery stores are located either with a Coles and other shops at Casuarina less than 3km south or Kingscliff Woolworths and shopping centre a few km's North of Mantra. ”

“Surrounded by stunning beaches on the Kingscliff coast and a backdrop of the beautiful Hinterland, Season restaurant at Peppers Salt Resort & Spa provides the perfect venue to feast on organic and fresh produce from local growers. This volcanic region in Northern New South Wales has some of the most fertile soil in the world, perfect for growing the freshest and most luscious fruit and vegetables. Season’s meat is sourced locally and raised the way nature intended it – with sweet hormone free pork from the quaint village of Bangalow, antibiotic and hormone free chicken from Alstonville and beef from the Oakley Ranch in Casino all on the menu. Locally sourced mouth-watering fruits featured on the menu include passionfruit from Dungay, berries from Stokers Siding and Burringbar and the finger limes are sourced through Chillingham and are native to this region. Whether it be an intimate dinner for two, or a few cocktails and tapas with friends, Season restaurant at Peppers Salt Resort & Spa is the ideal location to indulge in the region’s finest food and wine. Elegant Italian furnishings and a chic and intimate atmosphere provide patrons with the perfect environment to relax and enjoy a culinary journey of what’s in Season.”

“You can hire a good range of bikes from the Mantra reception area to explore the many kilometres of Bike trails both south through to Casuarina and Cabarita or North to Kingscliff. All the trails are adjacent to the beach, often under trees to offer some protection from the sun. You will just need photo id and to pay when you hire. Rates are very reasonable and they even have a bike to seat 4 people.”
