“The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there. One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is still situated on its original site. It was rebuilt in 1965, and renovation of the lagoon, walkways, and a seismic retrofit were completed in early 2009. In addition to hosting art exhibitions, it remains a popular attraction for tourists and locals and is a favorite location for weddings and wedding party photographs for couples throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and such an icon that a miniature replica of it was built in Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim.[3]”

“Pizza fans and wine lovers visit A16 to enjoy the flavors of Italy’s soulful south. This pizzeria shares a name with the highway of the two seas which runs across Italy from Napoli to Bari. The inspiration comes from the region, especially Campania. Executive Chef Nicolette Manescalchi oversees the menu, which features fresh pasta, house-butchered and house-cured meats and authentic Pizza Napolitana. Complementing the rustic fare, Wine Director Shelley Lindgren selects wines that highlight the indigenous grapes from Campania and nearby regions.”

““The Crookedest Street in the World”, a moniker stemming from the fact that, in 1922, city engineers crammed eight cobblestone switchbacks into a single steep block of Lombard. The goal was to provide relief from the hair-raising slope; the inadvertent result was a tourist site. Hairpin turns are only part of the attraction. Lombard's crazy-curve block is lined with handsome houses and adorned with copious hydrangeas. The high point, atop Russian Hill, offers stupendous views of the San Francisco Bay, Alcatraz, and the city. Add to this the fact that the Hyde Street cable car deposits visitors at the top of the picturesque incline and the Crookedest Street could hardly have escaped notice.”

“The marina area is beautiful as it is close to the beach area, the Marina, the bay , the Palace of Fine arts and it's flat with no hills. This makes it easy to walk around, strolls along the beach trails, the Marina filled with beautiful boats, into the presidio Park and shop on Chestnut street which is always buzzing with people. It has all you need form grocery store, supermarket, cleaners, boutiques, banks, various restaurants, bars, bookstore, pharmacy etc... Its also close to hospitals, urgent care. The muni bus system (especially #30) is great and inexpensive to go around the city.”

“This Peet's has been remodeled and has an awesome living wall. Warning - if you never have had Peet's coffee before it has twice as much caffeine as your traditional cup of joe (it's how it got its cult following). Originally started in Berkeley. ”
