Places to stay in Marloes
A large, characterful and comfortable one bedroomed annexe flat with private patio in the tranquil village of Marloes; an ideal base for visiting Skomer island, walking the coastal path or enjoying the magnificent beaches of Pembrokeshire. Sorry but not pets.
Formerly the original old post office, the annexe is a spacious and characterful one bedroomed flat furnished to a high standard with wood flooring, central heating, wood burning stove and roll top bath tub for added comfort after a day's walk. The open-plan sitting room and dining area is furnished with two sofas (one a pull-out bed) and wood burning stove. The sitting room opens into a small dining area with drop leaf table and chairs. Two steps lead down to the terracotta tiled galley style kitchen which overlooks the patio. Utilities include a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and integrated washer/dryer. A breakfast bar and two high chairs provide an alternative eating area. The bathroom is fitted with a Victorian style bathtub, with telephone style shower head and taps enabling showering and rinshing hair whilst sitting in the bath. There is no stand-up shower. Access to the patio is via a side gate. Access to the Internet is inclusive.]
The Pembrokeshire coastal path is quite spectacular. In 2012 the National Geographic voted it one of the best places to visit in the world, and in 2010 the county’s beaches were also named among the best coastal destinations on the planet, Pembrokeshire came in joint second behind the Avalon Peninsula in Newfoundland, Canada, tying with New Zealand’s Tutukaka Coast. The village is on the Marloes peninsula. The long and spectacular Marloes sands, is on one side (watch the tailers for Snow White and the Huntsman and look out for cavalry beach assault) and the undiscovered jewel of Musslewick bay is on the other, this beach is the closest ten minutes, whilst it is accessible only at low tide, the lagoon type bay can be accessed for swimming at any time from the rocks. At the head of the peninsula is Martins Haven, where in spring and summer there are daily boats to Skomer Island, a wildlife haven for rare birds and seals. If you love the outdoors there’s loads to do: great walking, swimming, surfing, sailing, kayaking, climbing, horse-riding, diving, cycling and fishing. In the village there is a pub serving lunches and dinners, a café/restaurant, a shop / post office, and a children’s play area in the village green. Just five minutes away by car, alternatively a walk or cycle over the cliffs and the old air strip, and you are in the picturesque Dale, with its pontoon (great crabbing for little ones) and characterful pub, The Griffin, with its famous wall overlooking the bay, on which, on a nice evening, the world and his dog perches their pint. Fifteen minutes by car in the other direction is the idyllic chocolate box village, Little Haven, with choice of three pubs and restauraunts to cater for all tastes. Further along the coast towards Newgale is the wonderful and unique Druidstone Hotel, a great place to pop into for tea during a walk, a drink to watch the sunset go down or a meal (although it can get booked out during high summer).
  • The annex is perfect, and provides warm and comfortable accommodation. Easy to find too. The location is good because once there, you can walk to a lovely stretch of the coast path by Marloes beach. Having a pub close by was also welcome after a long walk!

  • Lovely little flat, excellent location and great host

    Daniel2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very comfortable cottage, and Liz was excellent at communicating. We love getting on to the coast path and beaches, and could walk from the cottage to do so.

    Sally2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • An absolutely dreamy place. I stayed in winter and it was wonderfully comfortable. Well-kitted kitchen, cosy fire, excellent location and an absolutely enormous, lovely bath. I couldn't recommend it enough. Liz also shared a very comprehensive welcome pack with tips on where to eat & where to go for walks - tremendous. If I'm back in the area, I'll certainly be booking Liz's place again.

  • Liz’s place was a beautiful character property with log burner and freestanding bath. Liz was a lovely host who telephoned when we had arrived to check all was okay. Really close to lovely walks along the coast. We will be recommending this place to everyone!

  • Great cottage in a lovely spot; ideal for leaving the car and walking in the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside and of course the coastal footpath.

    Mike2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint cottage with modern amenities. Great location within walking distance of Marloes Sands (beyond beautiful!). Local pub is a bit iffy, but okay (avoid Saturday nights). Everything we needed was there at Richard's place. Lovely private outside area for a cup of tea or glass of wine.

  • Perfect stay in a beautiful cottage and in a beautiful environment!

    Klaus2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage in the heart of the village. Shop and pub a few yards either side, beaches a short walk away. Great base for exploring the whole Pembrokeshire area. We booked as a couple and had tons of room. Super cosy, spotlessly clean, and lots of space for relaxing and enjoying the good weather. Many thanks!

    Luke2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our time in Richard's cottage. It has everything you could ask for during your stay and he provided lots of very helpful extras for our 18 months old - a cot with spare sheets, toys, a high chair and there was even a little sweet treat on arrival. The patio and garden are lovely and it's a great location for beautiful Marloes Sands. Highly recommended and thanks again to Richard.

This Annex is independent from our house. It is very comfortable & warm in the heart of the village of St Ishmaels, it has off road parking, on suite double room with tea & coffee making facilities. Sheets, blankets, towels & toiletries are included. We have beautiful beaches & Islands to explore, all in a protected National Trust area. The village of Dale is 3 miles away with great water sports, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, surfing, kite surfing & fishing trips to mention just a few.
This place is great for couples or singles wanting to explore the Pembrokeshire coastal path or take part in water sports, it also has a wealth of interesting places to visit near by like Solva and St Davids and Dale. There is plenty of room on the drive, there are no steps or Stairs at Sunnybrooks Annex so access is easy and if a guest needs anything they only have to ask. The Annex is warm and comfortable with a good on suite and toiletries provided. It is very quiet and relaxing space with a comfortable bed.
We are located in the heart of the village of St Ishmaels which has a good pub, The Brook Inn, sports Club and Nurseries which all do excellent food at very reasonable prices.
  • I stayed in Traceys annexe while walking the coast path and it had everything I needed and more. I was warm, comfortable and made to feel very welcome. Tracey is on hand next door if you need anything but otherwise leaves you to enjoy your stay. The village is a quiet, rural place with lovely walks close by. Many thanks Tracey for a lovely stay.

    Emma2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tracey's Annex is lovely, clean and so comfortable I could have stayed a week! There was a helpful heater in the room so my shoes could dry out, and a cool box to store my lunches. I was walking the Coast Path with no car, and the place is conveniently located close to some of the most stunning parts of the walk. There's also a bus to Milford Haven and Haverfordwest a couple of times a day. The village is small and I sadly didn't get to try the local pub food as they weren't serving that evening. Tracey went out of her way for me and I'd love to stay again.

    Megan2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Tracey’s Annex is really lovely and she helped me a lot. Wonderful beach nearby. Definitely recommend it!

    Jing2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in the Annex. There is a nice pub on a walking distance and you can have a lovely breakfast at the garden centre. The room is small and basic but well taken care of. A minor remark; the bed is a bit soft and bumpy.

    Lieke2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect! We were here for a wedding, her place was exactly what we needed. Tracey is really lovely and we highly recommend!

    Rosie2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing accommodation with thoughtful touches, Tracey made our stay wonderful with great tips for our travels, a little peaceful haven. Thoroughly recommended

    Pete2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy to find. Comfortable and very clean. We loved the fact the pub was walking distance and good food. Tracey was welcoming and lovely to talk to. Close to Skomer Island to visit the puffins. Wish the weather was better but lovely and warm.

    Karen2019-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying in Tracey's annexe. It was well furnished, sparkling clean, & had everything we needed (including an enormous range of toiletries!) - the perfect place to retreat to after a day's walking. Tracey is very friendly & right next door, should you need anything.

  • What a lovely stay! We were really impressed with how clean, cosy and comfortable this place was. We loved the wood burning fire which was a great addition! It warmed us up after some lovely but wild walks around Pembrokeshire. The facilities in the kitchen were fantastic and we really liked that we had space to cook and do our own thing! Thank you so much, we will be back! :)

  • Set in an attractive group of former farm buildings, the cottage was peaceful and cosy with its little woodburner, despite the whistling storm outside. Well located for pubs and places to visit, it made a very pleasant out of season get away for us.

  • Fabulous cottage space. Perfectly placed for Little Haven. Ample space for a couple. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. The heating had been put on to welcome our arrival. Very thoughtful of the owner. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Attention to detail fantastic. Very much enjoyed our stay here.

    Lee2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We booked this on the spur of the moment as we wanted to continue our coast walk. The cottage was part of a group set in a row originally a cow shed Nicely converted into various size cottages. Our cottage was very cosy, ideal for 2. with a comfortable bed upstairs on a mezzanine level. Small but adequate kitchen and a cosy sitting area with wood burner and TV with DVD's on hand. Plus Excellent WiFi. Within about half hour walk from Little Haven but prooved a bit far to walk on a cold dark January night.... Especially after walking all day. All in all... Great stay, Good price. will visit again.

    Steve2020-01-24T00:00:00Z

Maren’s home is located in Marloes, Wales, United Kingdom. Marloes peninsula is surrounded on 3 sides by sea and fantastic beaches, miles of stunning walks and a more opportunities for activities or peace and quiet than you can shake a stick at. Marloes village is nestled in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park with boat access to Skomer Island, famous for puffins and other bird life. If you don't have sea legs for the short crossing to Skomer island then Marloes Mere is a fantastic little marsh land with bird hide for watching the migrating and local birdlife. Depending on the wind direction and tides there are 3 good surfing beaches in Marloes. Musslewick, Marloes Sands and West Dale. These are on different sides of the headland. For kayakers there are nice, easy entry adventures to be had from St Brides, Dale Harbour and Martins Haven. Dale (the next village just a two mile walk across the old airfield or a 5 minute drive) is a busy sailing village with a good local pub serving fresh local fish. SUP, sailing, windsurfing and kayaking equipment can be hired from Dale Sailing in the harbour. The pontoon is a popular crabbing spot for children. For divers there are two great shore dives close to Marloes. Martins Haven is a very nice, varied dive dropping rapidly to 25m from the shore. The dive has kelp forests, reef and plenty of sea life with; quite often - an inquisitive seal. St Brides is a shallow dive site. Maximum depth 12 metres. It is a great dive site. Absolutely teeming with life. Also lovely to snorkel this reef. The richness of life in the local waters is not to be underrated as an experience. There are many good and well marked cycle routes around the area and further afield. If you take a right from Tower View you will soon come across the Clock House Cafe. This family run business serve breakfast and lunch as well as the most amazing cakes. The local village pub serve food everyday and there is a large, sunny beer garden to the rear of the pub. Opposite the pub is the very well equipped playground for the kids to use. We are also very fortunate to have an amazing pizza and pasta business in the village. Run by Camille who makes incredible homemade pizzas. Book in advance Thurs, Fri and Saturday for collection just a short walk minutes from the house. There should be a menu in the house. She’s also on Facebook. If you take a left from Tower View and are heading back out of the village you'll find the village shop. This is run by Paul and Stef. This is a great resource for the village and the owners have a fantastic range of local food and drink produce to take home. They also have a cafe. This is also a post office so you can get money and send your postcards from here. A little bit further afield, just by the carpark for Marloes Sands beach lies Runwayskiln Cafe. In my opinion Claire and Charlie does some of the best food in the area. Most of it is locally sources and they also cater well for vegetarians and vegans. The views from the Kiln are breathtaking. It’s well worth the 20-25 minute walk. I recommend you book a Tesco delivery to meet you on the day of your arrival. Or if you wish to shop yourself then the nearest towns are Haverfordwest (13 miles)and Milford Haven (9miles). These are also the last opportunity to fill up on petrol/diesel.
  • A very clean and tastefully furnished house with everything we needed to make for a great break away. Lots of space for family to spread out and the firewood was very welcome for the wood burner to keep Storm Dennis at bay!

    Andrew2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A great spot for walkers - we walked from the house all the way to Dale, round the coastline. Honestly some of the most beautiful views I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. There's a great little shop and cafe within walking distance, and a pub which serves food within walking distance too. Loads of space in the kitchen and dinning area We were two adults, 2 teenagers. could easily have taken 2 more kids without feeling under each other's feet. Will definitely return

    David2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay here for a couple of nights. The house is comfortable, clean and we felt very welcome. Amazing 4hr family walk around the headland along the coastal path, blessed by a sunny day and even got to see a seal and her pup on the beach below. Enjoyed a brief visit to Marloes Sands but due to high tide times weren't there for long.

    Tara2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A fab base to explore the beautiful surrounding areas. Many places are so close that driving isn’t necessary. We were a party of 4 adults, two teenagers and 3 children and we were very comfortable. The property is bigger than it looks in the photos. Maren wasn’t around to meet us but communication was very informative and quick, so we had no problems. If you get the chance don’t miss out on a lovely meal at Runaways Kiln at Marloe Sands. Thanks Maren for sharing your space with us.

    Kerrie2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Maren’s house is exactly as described, stylish interior, perfect location, very clean and contains everything you need for a self catering holiday. Maren is a great host & responds to messages very promptly.

  • We had a lovely time staying at Maren's place. The place is located in the middle of a lovely village, close to a pub, and local amenities, and is easily connected to local pathways. We saw many seals along our walk. Highly recommended.

A Bright, modern, semi-detached house in a quiet cul-de-sac. Well-equipped and very comfortable: recliner sofas; comfortable beds; family bathroom and separate toilet downstairs. The garden is contained and catches the sun. There is an outside tap to wash off wetsuits/dogs etc and a washing line. 2 Well-behaved dogs are welcome but not allowed upstairs. 1 mile from the beach and an easy walk to the lovely village cafes, well-stocked Post Office and Stores and local pub The Lobster Pot.
Marloes is a lovely, quiet village. Our house is approximately 1 mile from Marloes Sands and a couple of miles from St Martin's Haven where a boat can be taken to see the puffins and seals (in season) at Skomer and Skokholm Islands. Seal pups can be spotted in September from the coastal paths. Both destinations are easy to walk/cycle to from the house. Marloes Sands is a stunning beach in all weathers, dog friendly and is great for body boarding. There is a cafe located near to the NT carpark. The more adventurous can surf at Broad Haven where there are lifeguards or just further on is the windswept Newgale beach - a great spot for surfing/kite surfing. The neighbouring village of Dale is a beauty spot. In season there is another excellent pub - The Griffin and a seasonal cafe and shop. There is also a water-sports centre in Dale where you can hire boats/kayaks etc and book lessons. The pontoon makes an excellent crabbing spot!
Marloes is the ideal place to explore the coastal path. The seals are easily spotted from the cliffs, particularly near to St Martin's Haven and the Deer Park. September is a wonderful time to see seal pups. Skomer Island is worth a visit, particularly in June when the Puffins are around. Marloes Sands is a beautiful, unspoilt beach, well worth a visit.
  • Lovely house in a lovely village. The pub is close by as is the village shop. Great location for walking the coast path. Recommended.

    John2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely holiday at Nicola’s place. The location was fantastic. Marloes one direction and Woolpak head for watching seals in the other direction. only a 5 minute drive. The house itself was perfect for our needs. We self catered most nights and the kitchen was ideal. The living space was cosy and comfortable. Thank you .

  • A warm, cosy and comfortable house in a quiet village location. Perfect for visiting Skomer Island and walking the Pembrokeshire coastal path.

    Nigel2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for a great few days. We loved it. Fantastic location - five minutes drive to Martins Haven for the puffin island boat - and walking distance to fantastic dog-friendly beaches and fantastic cliff-top walks around the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path.

    Tom2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house is immaculate, very comfortable, and had everything we needed. The sunny enclosed garden was an extra bonus, and thoroughly enjoyed by our two young children at the end of a busy day. We wanted to be based in Marloes to get to the Skomer ticket office in good time (we’ve been for several years and can’t recommend it highly enough), and for this the house was absolutely perfect. I hope we will be back in years to come.

    Sarah2019-05-12T00:00:00Z
  • A great location, stunning views along the coastal path and a great little cottage to stay , highly recommended as a perfect self catering cottage in this beautiful area. The host is easy to communicate with and very helpful in providing plenty of information of the area.

  • A tidy, modern house in a quiet cul de sac in the village. Walk to pub and post office just a few hundred metres. Lovely beaches nearby and lots of wonderful walks along the Pembs coast. It’s a great base for Marloes, Dale, Martins Haven.

Small, simple accommodation in wild and wonderful surroundings! The Hayloft is two fields' away from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, within sight and sound of iconic Marloes Sands and perched above gorgeous Marloes Mere. It is a place for beach-goers, boaters and birders! Sea-view first floor studio flat | King size bed | Two narrow singles | Kitchenette (sink, fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, single induction hob) | Lovely stone tiled shower
It is part of Runwayskiln, a cluster of traditional Pembrokeshire farm buildings and formerly the YHA Marloes Sands youth hostel, "A contender for the most scenically sited youth hostel in the country" (Wanderlust magazine). When the sun is shining, the path is a hub of activity. The Hayloft is above the cafe/public toilet facilities and so people are around the building all day. When the cafe closes (and the facilities are locked) and the sun goes down, you will truly feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere.

DUE TO THE COVID19 CRISIS ALL BOOKINGS ARE SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. If you have already made a booking I will work with you to make sure Airbnb cancel it penalty free for both your group and I. Please see their guidelines.. Limenaraki Cottage is opposite the playground, Pub & bus stop for all local routes. An easy & quick walk takes you to Musslewick beach, from there explore all the beaches the local headland has to offer. A perfect spot for a family & friends to enjoy Pembs from.
The house faces the village green and therefore is not overshadowed by any other properties. This means from Sunrise to around 5 pm the front of the house is a sun trap. There is an outdoor dining area which connects to the interior dining area through fully retractable sliding windows. The garden at the front of the house is a perfect spot for reading a book and relaxing. Next to the front garden, accessed by the second gate are outdoor wash up facilities for sandy bodies from the beach and sports equipment which can be stored safely beside the shed. There is a drying rail for wetsuits and towels where the sports equipment is stored. Once you step inside the house you enter the dining space. this has bench seating surrounding the perimeter for lounging and then a 2 metre table which can seat up to 12. This space can be opened up to the outside through the full length window, or made cosy by night for long, lazy dinners. This room has underfloor heating for the winter months and is warm in the summers by the sun. Just off the sun room is the downstairs bathroom which is a wet room, comprising shower toilet and sink. There is hot water throughout the day supplied by the solar PV and air source heat pump. All efforts were made to refurbish the house to be as environmentally sustainable as possible. A set of sliding doors between the dining room and the rest of the ground floor space mean that you can open the space up completely or close it down for more privacy. Once out of the dining room you are in the heart of the original cottage. evidenced by the old stone walls and everything suddenly not being quite straight! The space has been opened up completely with the stairs to the first floor in the centre of two living spaces. One with the fire place and ercol style sofa set for lounging and reading and chatting to those in the kitchen. the other side with the tv, sofa and lounging chair. In this space you can chat to the people still having dinner or close them out with the louvre doors for some relaxing time. The kitchen is one step up from the living space through the old external wall of the cottage. there is a half height wall left between the spaces and floor to ceiling shelves for easy access to plates, cutlery, herbs, spices and all else you will need for cooking your meals on the large induction range hob. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge freezer, dish washer, washing machine and dryer as well as cafetiere, teapot, juicer, all you should need to prepare your meals and drinks throughout the day. On the first floor you turn left and right to access the two master bedrooms. These rooms face east and benefit from a beautiful sunrise. Each have a kingsize bed and facilities for folded and hanging clothes. Directly in front of you at the top of the stairs is the rear bedroom. this is a lovely cosy room with a sloping ceiling and double bed. At the rear this room gets the evening sunshine. The first floor bathroom has a bath/shower, toilet and sink. The floor is tiled with Moroccan encaustic tiles. The last bedroom is accessed via a fixed timber loft ladder past the reading nook overlooking the village green. it is a cosy double bedroom with light from the sun tunnels in the roof. There is a fully glazed end to this gallery bedroom which overlooks the bedroom below. This space can be made completely private by the blind which covers the window. This room in combination with the one below is perfect for a family - kids love the loft room - or for friends who are comfortable with the combined but separate spaces. The loft has a protective guard rail around the opening and handrails on the ladder for safety for younger guests. There is a tripp trapp high seat provided plus a travel cot for those who need it. The house is ideal for families and groups of friends.
Marloes penninsula is surrounded on 3 sides by sea and fantastic beaches, miles of stunning walks and a more opportunities for activities or peace and quiet than you can shake a stick at. There is maps in the house for the local walks and should you wish to have a guided walk these can be organised in advance. Dale harbour (the next village just a two mile walk across the old airfield or a 5 minute drive) is a busy sailing village with a good local pub serving fresh local fish. As a certified instructor and experienced dive guide I can take experienced divers with their own equipment on guided dives. I will ask for proof of qualifications and experience. Tanks can be filled locally and if booking in advance hardboat diving is available at weekends. Each day has two dives around Skomer island and further afield. The richness of life in the local waters is not to be underrated as an experience. There are many good and well marked cycle routes around the area and further afield. I will make sure I provide as much information as I can in advance to suit your leisure plans. The local village pub is run by Sophie and Ashley. A really friendly, young couple. They serve food everyday and there is a large, sunny beer garden to the rear of the pub. Opposite the pub is the very well equipped playground for the kids to use. We are also very fortunate to have an amazing pizza and pasta business in the village. Run by Camille and her husband Jim. Camille makes incredible homemade pizzas. Book in advance Thurs, Fri and Saturday for collection just two minutes from the house. A little further past the pub and clock tower heading back out of the village is the village shop. Run superbly by Paul and Stef and their daughters. This is a great resource for the village and the owners have a fantastic range of local food and drink produce to take home. Plus a cafe. This is also a post office so you can get money and send your postcards from here. I recommend you book a Tesco delivery to meet you on the day of your arrival. Or if you wish to shop yourself then the nearest towns are Haverfordwest and Milford Haven. These are also the last opportunity to fill upon petrol. It is 12 miles each way to either town. I'm sure this is an information overload by now. But I will answer any more questions you have and help you make arrangements or plans for your holiday.
  • All that we needed for a great family break

  • We had a beautiful stay. The house was special and the interior was very stylish and quirky. Great location next to some surfing and walking spots. Would love to return! Niki was very responsive and helpful.

  • We visited between xmas and New year. Fab house, plenty big enough for us, 6 adults 4 children and a 9month old. House never felt cramped. Kitchen is extremely well equipped, used the log burner which kept the whole house very warm, but to be fair didn't really need to light it. X Nicki has put lots of nice little touches around the cottage, including books, games for children and adults, and plenty of toiletries in case you forget anything. Any problems and Nicki was there to sort it. X

  • This place is great and would highly recommend!!

    Jonathan2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Nickis place in early November and despite the heavy rain the house was filled with light and the landscapes were still achingly beautiful. We had a fabulous time. The house is a joy to stay in, the renovation was clearly thoughtful and considered with lots of cool quirks - we loved the reading nook and our boys played ‘ocean diving’ on the deep blue stairs for hours. Some wonderful books in the house about coastal conservation and my favorite - coastal food! Beds were all incredibly comfortable - in fact the best we’ve stayed in when away from home. Fab communication and info from Nicki, so everything was seamless. Great garden, gorgeous beaches in close distance. We would love to see the place in the summer, perfect spot for a family trip. (Tip: if you have very small kids, be prepared for a bit of a walk - Marloes Sands is a drive away but much easier for kids to get down to from the coastal path than Musslewick, which is walking distance from the house. Both beautiful and worth visiting)

    Maya2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely house with everything you need for a comfortable stay in a perfect location. Thanks Nicki!

    James2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful big house with lots of light and lovely views onto the rest of the village. Enough space for 9 adults including a big fridge and kitchen counter space if you are bringing your own food (also lovely kitchen, great for cooking in). Travelled in early October but didn't need to use the heating and house was plenty warm enough. Lots of ideas for walks nearby are left in the house with maps and leaflets. There is a village shop but it was closed for a wedding when we arrived - recommend bringing a few snacks but there is also a shop a short drive away. One of the bedrooms is accessed through another bedroom - luckily this wasn't a problem for our party. Enough chairs and sofa-bench space to sit everyone around the table too. Great overall!

    Hilary2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nicki’s cottage is fab. Great location, beautifully decorated and well equipped. We really enjoyed our week and had lovely weather. Make sure you visit Musselwick beach and Runwayskiln cafe. Marloes is a totally beautiful beach and the cottage is perfect. Thanks so much, Nicki xxx

Small but well equipped twin bedroom annexe with ensuite wet room and separate entrance for guests with own key. Sits centrally on the Dale peninsula - ideal for trips to Skomer island and Pembrokeshire's best beaches! This is an annexe bedroom to our home - a beautiful barn conversion equidistant between Dale and Little Haven. We are far from the madding crowd tucked away behind an old Manor House. This listing is for the annexe bedroom only, not the whole barn.
The Accommodation:- Guests will have a small twin bed room with a contemporary en suite wet room. It has its own separate entrance and guests will have their own key providing privacy and flexibility. It has recently been refurbished and redecorated from an old outbuilding and is full of character and charm. There size of the annexe does not allow for a kitchen or lounge area the room contains tea and coffee making facilities together with a mini fridge. We leave available a simple breakfast of muffins (in a cake tin), granola and orange juice for breakfast which guests have in their room. There is a flat screen wall mounted TV and two arm chairs. There is a walk in cupboard in which to hang clothes and a chest of drawers. To the front is the main garden and a patio by a wildlife pond which guests are welcome to use in fine weather. Location:- We are in a very rural location in the middle of the countryside between Dale and Little Haven although technically we come within the parish of St Ishmaels. To enjoy our home, you must relish tranquillity and remotenss! We live in a converted barn behind an old Manor House, it is accessed via a driveway from the nearest lane. Please do read directions before you come. The nearest village is St Ishmaels (one mile away) with a pub called The Brook which serves reasonably priced pub food (note - in Winter, food only served on certain days of the week). Dale is three miles in one direction and Little Haven is three miles in the other. Both these have excellent pubs serving great food. (Note- The Griffin in Dale is closed from November to Easter) . The nearest towns are Haverfordwest and Milford Haven -10 and 7 miles away respectively. You will need a car as there is no local bus service. Local Area:- The attraction of the area is the stunning coastal scenery, the coastal path and the beautiful beaches of Marloes, West Dale, Little Haven, Broad Haven, Druidstone and Newgale. Further along the coast is the pretty village of Solva and the Cathedral city of St Davids (the smallest city in the UK) which is really a very pretty large village and is well worth a visit. It's about 20 miles away. It is ideal for those looking to stay in Pembrokeshire for a few days and particularly suitable if you are planning a trip to Skomer Iskland. We are just 10 minutes from Marloes and 15 minutes to St Martins Haven where the boat leaves for Skomer. Catering:- Our accommodation is not self catering as the space does not allow cooking equipment or a dining area but if you wish to bring back home made pizzas from Camille's in Marloes and are happy to eat them from your armchair- no problem! (Camille operates from home and makes the most fabulous pizza's but it it is a seasonal facility so please do check with us that is open before relying on a take home pizza). There are plenty of good eateries within a few miles and most if not all of our guests eat out. We leave available a simple breakfast of muffins /pastries (in a tin) orange juice and tea and coffee in the room for breakfast. Another option is to pop up the road and have a wonderful cooked breakfast at St Ishmaels Garden Centre (5 mins drive). Unfortunately we are not in a position to offer a cooked breakfast for guests . Hugh and I are both busily retired, we have two very friendly dogs and a couple of horses! There is parking for one car.
The Dale peninsula is situated in the very west of Wales. It is perfect if you enjoy walking, boating, cycling or surfing. Pembrokeshire is renowned for its beaches and stunning coatal path along the cliffs. We are very fortunate to have some of Pembrokeshire’s best beaches within a stone's throw. West Dale, Marloes, Little Haven, Broad Haven, Druidstone and Newgale are all within easy driving distance. The ferry port to Skomer island is only 15 minutes away. Dale is renowned for its microclimate and is reputed to have more hours of sunshine than any other village in Wales. It is generally mild and very often sunny even when just ten miles inland, it is gloomy with either rain or onimous clouds. There are great pubs close by- check out The Griffin (Dale) and the Castle, St Brides Inn and The Swan (Little Haven).
  • This self-contained, private annexe on a two hundred year old ex-dairy farm is remote enough to be wonderfully peaceful, but an easy drive from any number of beautiful Pembrokeshire beaches and villages. The room has comfy twin beds and a connected, private bathroom. There's wifi, TV, tea and coffee making facilities and a small fridge which super-host Barbara keeps topped up with fresh milk and fruit juice, together with granola for breakfast, with delicious fresh pastries every day. Super glad to have found this place on Air B&B and very much hope to be back soon.

    Emma2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara and Hugh were wonderful hosts and went out of the way to ensure our stay was comfortable. The annex has recently been respecced to a high standard, and is warm and cosy. The cottage has easy access to many of Pembrokeshire's gems. We had a superb time!

    Peter2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely secluded spot and all we could ask for. Great for walking Marlowe Peninsula and Dale Peninsula and up to StDavids and the coast there. Recommend pubs in Little Haven and Griffin in Dale when it’s open, check before you drive there 🧐. Warm at home feel to accommodation.

    Mark2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Barbara’s wonderful little unit provides everything you need to enjoy a stay in SW Pembrokeshire. Compact and comfortable, peaceful and well placed for exploring this beautiful corner of Wales. Nice touches and a warm welcome. The wet room is perfect for soothing aching legs after a long walk on the coast! Highly recommended Adrian & Sue

    Adrian2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really great little place and was just what we needed for a weekend diving late in the season. Clean, simple and most importantly warm! Easy communication and lots of extra little touches, you won't have any problems here!

    Tin-Tin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • "The Old Diary" is part of a spacious, old estate, surrounded by nature. This would also be the problem named, concerning the journey. It is advisable IN ANY CASE to follow the description of Barbara and not to rely on googlemaps. Once you have found your way, the guest expects an atmospheric and protected facility. This consists of one and a half floor, lovingly restored buildings where the hosts live. The center of the complex is formed by a pond and an outdoor terrace surrounded by numerous flowering plants that guests can use. Beautiful, absolutely quiet and peaceful. The cultivation is as described quite small, but also with its own character. Guests are provided daily with juice, milk, cereals and pastries. We had 5 days of sunshine and a wonderful time at the end of September!

    Barbara2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning setting, very comfy beds and homemade cakes!! A real treat!

    Hazel2019-09-15T00:00:00Z

  • This is a fabulous location if you want to be away from it all. Great views and walks. It felt very private as no one was in the neighbouring houses.

    Fiona2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful veiw! A great place to get away from everything for awhile.

    Makenzie2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The best views in a homely, comfortable chalet. Right on the coastal path, but still feels so private. It had everything you needed for a few nights, comfortable stay. June was really accommodating, responsive to requests and the milk, eggs and bread was a really thoughtful touch. We will be back!

    Emma2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was perfect. The cabin is in a idyllic location and it was lovely to look out at the sea. June was a super helpful host and left us bread, milk and eggs, such a nice touch. Will definitely be back!

    Janeve2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cottage with the most stunning sea views. June was the most helpful and thoughtful of hosts, and could not do enough to make our stay the most pleasant, (including some complimentary touches on our arrival). Dale is a lovely spot. I would recommend a stay here, and we hope to return in the future. :)

    Jennie2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • I simply can't rate this place highly enough. The chalet itself is situated on a cliff edge (though it's safely walled in, for parents of wee ones!) and the view is just stunning. We brought card games and books and all sorts of things to do in the evenings, and ended up just staring at the sea all night!! It was beautifully clean when we arrived, and June had provided so many thoughtful touches that made our stay that little bit more awesome (seriously above and beyond anything I've ever experienced staying in an air bnb). A little problem with the drainage was sorted within hours, with no inconvenience to us. The house was perfect for our little family (2 adults, a nearly 2 year old and an elderly dog). And as for the surroundings!! We averaged 2 beaches a day, and never got bored of the scenery, the sand, the sea, or anything about this lovely place. I would recommend Pembrokeshire, and specifically Haven High, to anyone looking for a lovely holiday in a beautiful place :-) xx

  • The property is a granny-annexe to the main house with its own entrance. There is a main bedroom and a living room and small galley kitchen - which is better than advertised. There is a mezzanine floor with two more beds. The main bedroom has an en-suite. There is a balcony looking out onto a garden and woodland with loads of song birds visiting. The property is close to the beach, a pub, a cafe and not far from another unspoilt beach on the other side of the peninsula. You can see the sea from the bedroom window.

  • I found Rosemary and John's place perfect for two days exploring Dale, Marloes, Little Haven, St Brides and the coastal path. Their place is very clean and, as others have commented, full of thoughtful touches. There's plenty of space for one or two travellers and I found it comfortable, quiet and cosy. I wanted to share a tip for folk who, like me, love organic and/or low food mile and healthy food: bring your own as, as Rosemary indicates, local shops are few and far between, and those there are, are convenience stores. That said, food at the nearby The Griffin pub was lovely. Not cheap, but very good. Overall, a lovely place to play in a great location, enhanced by thoughtful friendly hosts.

  • Three adults and one teen stayed a couple of nights to explore the area. It is clean and bright with efficient use of space. Everything was thoughtfully laid out and comfortable. Access to the bathroom is via a bedroom, which was fine for us as a family. There is an easy walk to a pub and brasserie for food in this pretty, water-sports-orientated village.

The Old Post Office is characterful, light and spacious with beautiful secluded gardens. Situated in the peaceful village of Marloes, it is close to Skomer Island and within minutes of Marloes Sands and Musslewick, just two of the stunning beaches on the magnificent Pembrokeshire coast. The detached property consists of a 4 bedroom house and a 1 bedroom flat. To book the flat or flat&house select my photo to see the ads. Prices quoted are for 4, but in peak season bookings must be for 10.
If in doubt on the pricing - please make an enquiry rather than a request to book. Attached to the house is a one bedroomed annexe flat with separate entrance and patio area. Large parties or families spanning the generations, may be interested in renting the house and annexe together. During the summer holidays the house and annexe can only be rented together. To look at prices and availability please copy URL https://www.airbnb.co.uk/multicalendar/9378871 into a browser. The house is surrounded to the rear and side by beautiful mature and secluded gardens, including a 14ft trampoline. The downstairs is a large open plan area. A huge kitchen leads into a sun room with part glass roof and a large sliding door opening onto patio area. This room has a sofa, two leather chairs and a couple of leather Turkish style bean bags. Down a step through a wide opening is the inner ‘snug’, with wood burning stove, two comfy sofas, shelving area housing TV, video and music system. A double sided thick velvet curtain can be drawn across to separate the two rooms to give that extra cosy feel. The solid oak kitchen table, when fitted with extra leaves, comfortably seats fourteen. The kitchen has a beautiful waxed terracotta tiled floor and is fitted with a Raeburn oven (great for roasts), electric oven, gas hob with wok attachment, fridge freezer and dishwasher. Off the kitchen is a utility / shower room. A walk in shower – ideal for use after the beach, and large enough for little ones to share. The utility room is equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, Belfast sink, wooden draining board and pulley clothes horse suspended from ceiling (good for drying out walking and beach gear). There is extensive hanging space for coats in the hall, an upright piano and small library. There is also a downstairs toilet. The upstairs is L shaped housing four bedrooms: two are very large, each with a king bed, the third has a small double bed and the fourth (2 small rooms knocked into one) has a double bed and two singles, ideal as a children's room. All rooms have shutters or venetian blinds in addition to black-out blinds. The bath in the bathroom has telephone style taps and shower unit, there is also a separate upstairs shower room. Off the landing is a large airing cupboard, ideal for airing any damp clothing and towels. Solar panels provide the bulk of hot water throughout most of the year, central heating can be turned on when the weather is not obliging. A number of roof lights allow sunshine to stream into the upstairs area, down the stairs and, via a glass ceiling, into the downstairs hall, making this a bright and airy home. The Old Post Office is an interesting mix of contemporary and traditional cottage style and has been renovated to bring together the best of both. It has the feel of a characterful home as opposed to a functional holiday let.
The long and spectacular Marloes sands, is on one side (watch the trailers for Snow White and the Huntsman and look out for cavalry beach assault) and the undiscovered jewel of Musslewick bay is on the other, this beach is the closest ten minutes, whilst it is accessible only at low tide, the lagoon type bay can be accessed for swimming at any time from the rocks. In the village there is a pub serving lunches and dinners, a café/restaurant, a shop and a children’s play area in the village green. If you’re a sucker for beaches you’ll want visit South Pembrokeshire and the incredible Broadhaven South and Barafundle. When the weather isn’t great there are a variety of day trips: the historical city of St Davids passing through the idyllic Solva village and harbor, Narberth market town with its Spanish deli (Ultracomida) and Tenby with its architectural elegance and splendour. Many activities for the younger visitors: local seal/bird spotting, a day trip to Folly Farm or Oakwood adventure park (one of UK's top ten theme parks - the longest wooden roller coaster - Megafobia!)

A cosy independent space for guests to explore the wonders of Pembrokeshire and come and go as they like even with their dogs.
The annexe is a lounge and kitchen and dining room all in one with a cosy bedroom with two single beds upstairs with en suite.
The annexe is one mile from the lovely village of St Ishmaels which has a very nice pub with large garden. There is access to many beaches either via the wonderful coast path or by car, including Lindsway bay and Monk haven or Dale and Marloes sands.
  • A lovely farm house annex which offers you a very comfortable stay with Georgina going the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A lovely farm house and very large lawned area. A short hop to some of the UKs most stunning seaside locations and breathtaking views and walks. Great hidden away fishing villages with lovely fresh food and local ale a very short drive away. This area is not over crowded and offers quiet roads and plenty of space without the over crowding of some other areas. An amazing part of the world.

    Alun2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay. Georgina was incredibly welcoming and the place was great - clean, all facilities we needed, and with lots of food already in the fridge (which was really appreciated after a long bike ride!) The annex is very close to the coastal path, a mile from the nearest pub for dinner, and not far from the rest of the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast. 100% would recommend.

  • The Bicton Farmhouse Annex is in a great location to explore south west Pembrokeshire. We loved visiting local beaches and great walks. The annex has good facilities and is very homely and Georgina made us feel very welcome - including fresh cut flowers and some food in the fridge when we arrived.

    Caroline2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really, well located place. When we were there, the fridge had been stocked up with all the essentials as well which was such a lovely touch! All together a really lovely place to stay, and the garden is beautiful!

An 18C barn conversion of 2 cottages of which Hawthorn is the smaller. Centrally situated in Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park. Peaceful rural surroundings and yet close to wild cliff and beach walks and charming villages with good restaurants and historical interest. Great place to stay for trips to the world famous bird islands such Skomer. Surfing, sailing, cycling and walking paradise!
One of 2 converted barn cottages with vaulted ceiling and old beams, a large wood burner. A large rustic but well equipped kitchen diner and a comfy living room. Outside is a large semi wild garden and a patio with furniture and small BBQ.
The peace and quiet except for the birdsong. The proximity of coastal walks and some spectacular beaches. The pubs in Little Haven!

Sands is a light and airy cottage, the kitchen, dining and lounge areas all share a double height ceiling room There is a double bedroom and the second room has two full size bunks, opposite the smaller bedroom is a shower and toilet room, all on one level.
The Cottages occupy a very peaceful quiet space, if you are looking for a restful break; Little Haven is a 5 minute drive away or you can walk down but it's uphill on the way back!
We are based just outside LittleHaven with beautiful scenery in all directions there is lots to see and do round about(lots of information and leaflets can be found in the utility room) or you can simply come and have a relaxing break.
  • Lovely cottage with thoughtful amenities in a very beautiful region! The house was perfect for our family of 4, fitting everyone’s needs. I especially enjoyed the artistic touches in the decorations!

  • Bev's place it in a great location for accessing in my opinion the most beautiful and low key part of the Pembrokeshire coastal path. The living area works well and has everything you need and the wood burner is so welcoming all laid up and ready to go. The second bedroom is a bit tiny though. Thanks for your prompt action to fit a new battery to the bleeping smoke alarm.

The Old Cowshed sits centrally in the Dale peninsula- in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park close to many of its best beaches including Marloes, West Dale, Little Haven, Broad Haven, Druidstone and Newgale. It is a stunning barn conversion and with many repeat visitors. Please see our numerous 5* reviews on Trip Adviser.. it is ideal for those planning a trip to Skomer island as St Martins Haven is just 15 minutes away.
Welcome to the Old Cowshed - a large detached barn conversion. As the name suggests -this is an old cowshed that has been lovingly converted into a stunning luxury holiday home. If you like oak beams, slate floors, minstrels gallery and a wood burning stove, then you will love our barn. It is spacious, light and airy and you will have the luxury of underfloor heating with en-suite bathrooms to all bedrooms plus a a large utility and wet room for storing bikes, surf boards or washing off muddy boots or even dogs! There is a secluded rear garden with table and chairs accessible from large glazed doors in the kitchen. There are two televisions, one in the lounge and one in the kitchen; there is a DVD player, Dab radio and internet access. The Old Cowshed is very well equipped with all home comforts including dishwasher, washer/dryer, hairdryers, coffee maker and more. All the bedrooms are ensuite , two have both bath and walk in showers, the third is a shower ensuite. There is also a large boot room with a wet room off ideal for storing coats, boots, bikes and surf boards. The wet room is great if you have muddy dogs and want to shower them off. There is a ferocious log burning stove in the lounge and free logs and kindling are supplied all year round.
Pembrokeshire is a magical county and was the first coastal national park in the UK. We have stunning beaches, a world famous coastal path from which you can access stunning secluded bays and have no company other then the sea birds. Pembrokeshire is also home to numerous castles, (Pembroke, Carew, Manobier) , it has the smallest city in the UK (St Davids) and away from the coast, there are the Presceli Mountains to explore from where the stones that make up Stonehenge were hewn. We are situated just a few miles from Dale and Little Haven, these are two pretty coastal villages with great pubs and eateries . We particularly recommend the St Brides in Little Haven and do great fish The Griffin in Dale. There is an abundance of coastal activities on offer including surfing, kayaking, sailing and fishing trips. Skomer island of Puffin fame is just off the coast and the ferry port is just 10 minutes away at St Martins Haven.
  • Absolutely beautiful cottage, cosy fire to keep us warm on the damp days, and just a few minutes drive to some of the most beautiful coastline in Wales!

  • A great Barn Conversion, very well appointed, bags of space, quiet and very rural. Hosts on hand if needed but in no way intrusive. All in all a lovely experience.

  • This is an idyllic barn conversion with lots of space and amenities. We had a great stay, and it was almost a home from home, but this was better! The boot room was ideal to store wet boots and coats and clean down the dog after a muddy and wet walk. The beds were comfortable, as were the chairs in the living room, in fact the whole place was frankly amazing - just what we needed for a quite break in breath taking countryside which we hadn't explored before (in particular Marloes Sands) - and no Mobile Phone reception, bliss! Thank you

    Jim2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a stunning cottage in peaceful and pretty surroundings. just a 15 min drive to lots of beautiful beaches. The cottage is huge and also cosy, we enjoyed a rainy afternoon listening to the rain. Garden is also large, our dog loved exploring it. Ash Cottage is one half of a renovated 18th C barn in the middle of the Pembrokeshire National Park. It can also be rented with it's sister cottage, Hawthorn, which sleeps three. It has a big vaulted living space with stone walls, slate floors, comfy seating and a big wood burner. It has a large downstairs bedroom and a small twin upstairs in the rafters with an ensuite. It is surrounded by half an acre of semi wild garden. Very peaceful with birdsong during the day and the milky way at night.
It is a unique property with big beamed ceilings, lots of space and a huge semi wild garden. It is very close to amazingly beautiful beaches and all the attractions of Pembroke National Park, but it is incredibly quiet and restful.
A small rural hamlet that is really central in the Pembrokeshire National Park. Very quiet and peaceful and yet near a large number of wonderful beaches, villages and attractions.

Our beachside Pembrokeshire cottage offers an attractive, cosy retreat for up to nine people, in the picturesque village of Dale. The surrounding peninsula is part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Park which offers stunning coastal walks, offshore islands, rare birds, colonies of grey seals and visiting dolphin and porpoise. Beach options (several within walking distance) are endless and unspoilt. There’s every type of water-sport on offer and one of the best pubs in Wales on the doorstep.
Lovingly restored by the family, our traditional stone-built cottage lies a stone’s throw from the beach. On the first floor a large open plan sitting/dining room with a log fire forms the heart of the property with plenty of comfortable seating and a flat screen TV with Freeview and DVD player. This area leads onto a light, fully equipped kitchen, which in turn opens onto the large garden via a decking bridge. There are two comfortable, spacious double bedrooms on the ground floor, plus a further room with a double and a single bed. The two generous sized bathrooms have recently been refurbished, one with oversized bath and overhead shower, the other with large walk in power shower. Above the lounge is a fourth, gallery bedroom, with a double bed and views over the garden. Outside, the grassy garden has plenty of space to relax in with a barbecue and outdoor table and chairs.
The unspoilt village of Dale is situated in a sheltered valley on its own peninsula in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. Walk just 15 minutes to one side of the Peninsula and the beaches face towards the wild Atlantic, while the beach on the Dale side, a mere two minute walk away is a sheltered bay offering fantastic opportunities for swimming, crabbing and water-sport activities. During the stay you can make the most of the local wildlife by taking a boat trip out to the islands where you may be lucky enough to see seals, puffins and even dolphins and porpoises. The multi-award winning Griffin Inn lies at the heart of the community, priding itself on its freshly caught seafood menu and providing the perfect spot for an evening drink overlooking the beach. If a full English is more your thing then head to The Boathouse Café where it’s served all day. Here you’ll also find an eclectic mix of crab nets, beach balls and basic supplies. Next door to the café is West Wales Windsurf and Sailing Shop where you can book a charter around the islands, organise a sailing lesson, hire a kayak or paddleboard or take a dinghy or windsurfer out. Fishing and diving trips can also be organised through Broadside Boat Charter, off the pontoon. Just past the village slipway is Dale Yacht Club which hosts a number of regattas during the season. Upstairs they have a bar, non-members welcome, and a restaurant and outdoor seating area affording magnificent views of the bay. The village also boasts a handmade jewellery shop and Heritage Centre, whilst the Village Hall holds an array of events and arts and crafts shows during the season.
  • Great house in a really super location by the beach and near many more.Super for walking the coastal paths and for kids. Really enjoyed the Yacht club too and the friendliness of the local people. Thank you!

  • What a wonderful place to stay in the beautiful Dale area! The house has all the modern amenities set in a traditional beachside property. We enjoyed some lovely walks and drives around the Pembrokeshire coastline and even more times sitting in front of the roaring fire watching movies. Highly recommended for all groups, big or small!

  • An amazing place to stay in the beautiful village of Dale. You will not regret booking this cottage. We have just had one of the ‘best holidays ever’ according to the kids. Perfect for a family holiday with absolutely loads to do. Stunning beaches and excellent water sports nearby. The cottage worked brilliantly for 9 of us and the shower gets a huge thumbs up! Comfy beds, plenty of living space and a hop skip and a jump to the sea. Everyone we met in Dale was extremely friendly but none more than our lovely hosts who shared so much helpful local knowledge with us when we arrived (as well as leaving a lovely bottle of wine and cake). A total gem of a holiday cottage in a peaceful, quiet spot. We will definitely be back!

  • A absolutely gorgeous cottage in a beautiful location. The garden is lovely and has views of the sea. Comfy beds, thoughtful touches (bbq coals, bacon for crabbing, cake, wine and crisps) all very much appreciated. East Dale beach was lovely, great for morning walks and crabbing. West Dale was very pretty too. Favourite beach was Marloe Sands (stunning) and the cafe there (Runwayskiln) is top notch. Amazing service and food - the fish and chips are the best we have ever had. Dale sailing does a cruise to Skomer to see the wildlife which is great to do on an overcast non beachy day. Sarah has been a wonderful host, so kind and helpful, as was her lovely Mum Anne. We will definitely recommend to friends and hope one day to come back and stay again.

Once a pub called The Sloop Inn, Haven House is now a cosy waterside cottage just metres from the beach. Set in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park it has an abundance of walks and waterways on it's doorstep. At high tide enjoy canoeing down the estuary or paddle boarding to secluded beaches whilst low tide reveals the long sandy beach, a dogs paradise and a crabbing bridge for the children to enjoy. With a variety of birdlife and an ever changing landscape there is something for everyone.
Nestled in the beautiful hamlet of Sandy Haven and recently renovated Haven House is a cosy yet well equipped place to escape. The cottage sleeps five people in two spacious rooms, one master bedroom overlooking the creek and the second room with bunk beds and a single. There is one bathroom with a walk in shower and a further toilet downstairs. Downstairs the kitchen has an electric cooker and hob, a fridge, dishwasher and a microwave. We supply tea towels and dishcloths. The cottage also has a laundry room with a washing machine as well as an additional fridge should you need it. A wood burner, DVD and a smart TV can be found in the open plan living and dining area Towels (not beach towels) and bed linen are included. The cottage also comes equipped with body boards and crabbing kit to ensure you get the most out of Sandy Haven creek and the local beaches. You are also very welcome to bring your own paddle boards and kayaks. Dogs are very welcome in the cottage although we ask that they be kept downstairs and we very kindly ask that you do not smoke inside the cottage. The property also comes with private parking directly in front of the house.
Sandy Haven Creek (The Pill) From the beach below the cottage, a must do activity in the warmer months is to explore the long tidal creek of Sandy Haven using your own kayaks or paddle boards. A popular pastime is to be carried up the creek in the hour before high water, then enjoy the slack water before returning down the creek on the outgoing tide. With woodland either side to explore and an abundance of wildlife to spot it really is a fantastic experience and be sure to keep an eye for the wreck of an old sailing ship which can be found somewhere around the right angled bend in the middle of the creek. Another popular activity for the children is crabbing from the footbridge across the Sandy Haven inlet at low tide. Armed with buckets, lengths of string and pieces of bacon a full bucket of crabs can usually be gathered in no time at all. Beaches In addition to the beautiful Sandy Haven beach at the foot of the cottage that reveals itself at low tide the cottage is ideally placed to explore the many beaches along the Dale peninsula either by boat, foot or car. For the keen and more experienced kayakers immediately west of the entrance to Sandy Haven creek there are three secluded beaches backed by tall cliffs that are accessible only by boat. Further west along the coast path, the entrance to which can be found on the lane down to the cottage are Lindsway Bay and Monks Haven beaches. Lindsway Bay is a lovely sandy beach about a 40 minute walk from the cottage which at low tide is excellent for swimming and body boarding. A further mile on from Lindsway is the delightful Monks Haven cove which was once the site of a monastery and a look out station in the Second World War. Slightly further afield but only a short drive are the stunning beaches of Marloes Bay, Musselwick Sands, Albion Sands and St Brides. Bird Watching With its vast coastline, extensive cliffs, sheltered bays and tidal creeks Haven House is perfectly situated to see bird life. Spring visitors are swallows, warblers and many sea birds, summer is a good time to see the sea bird colonies whilst winter in the estuary brings waders, slavion, greebs and little egrets. Haven House is also only a short drive to the disembarkation point for Skomer Island. Home to the largest colony of Manx shearwaters in the world, along with puffins, guillemots, razorbills, choughs and short eared owls it really is a truly unforgettable experience where the relationship with its wildlife is unlike any you will have experienced. Walking Whether it’s across cliff tops, along beaches or meandering the coastal footpaths Haven House is ideally located for those that enjoy a good walk. We also recognise that it is a dog walking paradise which is why we’ve made the cottage dog friendly! Water Sports To make full use of the beaches and the creek the cottage comes equipped with crabbing buckets and body boards. If you have kayaks you can explore the tidal creek and the shore to the west of the estuary entrance whilst the body boards can be put to good use on any of the local beaches. Only a short drive away is the mile-wide Dale Bay which offers a variety of water sports for beginners and thrill seekers alike. Amongst the activities on offer are:- Sailing Powerboating Stand Up Paddle boarding Canoeing Raft-building Kayaking Windsurfing Whether you’re a beginner surfer or a more experienced big wave surfer the cottage is well located to make use of a number of surf sports to suit you. These include:- West Dale Marloes Newgale Whitesands Tenby Musselwick Sands
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Haven House. The house itself was lovely, it had all of the conveniences we could ask for and more. We especially enjoyed the cosy woodburner although the house was plenty warm without it! The location was perfect for exploring the beautiful coastline with the Pembrokeshire Costal Path mere minutes walk from the doorstep. The slipway and beach immediately in front of the house would be perfect for exploring the coast and secluded bays by sea on a kayak or SUP. Lizzie was a great host, quick to communicate and left clear instructions for everything about the house and local tips. Hope to come back soon sometime.

  • We absolutely loved staying at Haven House! As a family of four (two daughters aged 6 & 9) it was ideal - spacious, comfortable and so relaxing. All the amenities you need plus extra touches to make it feel like a real home from home. We really didn't want to leave! The location is perfect, quiet & secluded with the bay right on the doorstep there are endless hours of fun to be had by the sea. The cottage is an easy 20 min walk to the village where you'll find the friendly Brook Inn pub and St Ishmaels garden centre for food & drink. The coastal path is also right next to the cottage which is breathtaking! There are other numerous beaches and places to eat/drink within short drives. We would love to return again !!

  • Amazing cottage in the most beautiful location! One of our favourite ever family holidays. The cottage itself is so cosy and comfortable, with beautiful finishing touches and plenty of space for a family of 5 (with 3 children aged 10, 5 and 5). Everything has been thought of! The location is stunning. The gorgeous estuary is right outside the cottage door and we spent hours exploring it! There's a little bridge that appears as if by magic at low tide, leading to the most gorgeous swathe of sandy beach. We loved crabbing, rock pooling, walking, paddling in the waves & admiring the views. The coastal path is also a 1 minute walk from the cottage and wow!! Views, waterfalls, forest! Further afield we had a fab time bowling and eating out in Milford Haven, mooching around the lovely Tenby & swimming/riding the flumes at Bluestone Lagoon Water Park. Can't wait to come back in the summer and try out kayaking and swimming in the estuary! Would thoroughly recommend!

Welcome to Fold House Cottage. Our cottage is ideally located in the pretty village of Herbrandston, just 12-15 minutes walk from the beautiful beach of Sandy Haven in the heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park. The cottage itself dates back over 200 years and the sitting room was originally the kitchen of the old farm house. The ceiling still has the original meat hooks in the old wooden beams. The focal point of the room is the multifuel burner and surround which has been lovingly restored.
To the right of the fire place is an old doorway, now blocked off, which used to lead the farmhouse dairy. The old slate step is worn down and smooth by footsteps and the passage of time. The brand new kitchen is designed in keeping with the cottage, whilst benefiting from all mod cons, such as induction hob, Bosch fan oven and even a dishwasher! Not to mention a Krups coffee maker, bread-maker, slow-cooker and orange juicer! Off the kitchen there is a large pantry/storage area leading to the downstairs WC and Utility room with washing machine. The kitchen also leads to a gorgeous sunroom, facing the enclosed rear garden and the famous Pembrokeshire banks which run to the rear of the property. Upstairs are four tastefully furnished bedrooms, two double and 2 single. The family bathroom is light and airy and has a bath and electric shower.
Sandy Haven beach, the closest of many wonderful beaches, is a beautiful beach revealing an enormous expanse of sand at low tide with plenty of rock pools. At the east side of the beach, known as Sandy Haven 'pill' it's common to see white eagrets, cormorants and kingfisher. There is now a new crossing, replacing the old stepping stones, which allows access across the waterway for 2 hours on either side of high tide. It's a perfect spot for crabbing. We are 12-15 minute walk from the east corner of Sandy Haven beach via a field footpath which joins the Pembrokeshire coastal path. Walking along this path we regularly see foxes and a pair of buzzards, recently we watched five circling above us! You are also likely to see oystercatchers, kittiwake, gannets and chough. Maybe even see a peregrine falcon. We have a wild animal spotting log in the cottage for you to record your sightings! We love to hear about what you've seen. Nearby are the famous villages of Marloes with its stunning, wild beach, and Dale, perfect for watersports. Little Haven is just 11 minutes away by car and has three pubs including our favourite, The Swan Inn which is super dog welcoming! Broad Haven is just a minute further by car, has a huge sandy beach at low tide and is popular with surfers and bodyboarders. A little further north along the coast is Druidstone with is spectacular beach and iconic hotel. A 5 minute drive east out of Herbrandston is Milford Haven. Here you will find a selection of shops for your provisions, including a large Tesco as well as the newly developed Milford Waterfront. There are plenty of lovely bars and restaurants to be visited, our favourite being Martha's vineyard where you can sit on a raised sunny deck and enjoy the spectacular view across the moored yachts and their tall masts.
  • Fiona's cottage lived up to expectations, everything was as described on the website and was more spacious than the outside appearance suggested. The cottage had all that was required to make the stay enjoyable, plus the added surprise of a pumpkin for Halloween !! The cottage is in a nice quiet area but near enough to explore other nearby places. Fiona was always prompt with her communications and even took time to source additional information when requested. Would definitely recommend.

    Simon2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful stay! The cottage is in a wonderful location, which is only a short walk from the beach. We were greeted by scones, jam and butter and the fire had been lit which was a lovely touch. Fiona was outstanding and answered all questions we had- filling us in on everything we needed to know. The cottage was immaculate and beautifully decorated. It is equipped with all the amenities you would need for a comfortable stay. Perfect for a weekend or a short break! We would highly recommend the cottage for a lovely break and would definitely stay again in the future.

    Niamh2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • This delightful character cottage is everything it promised and more! It has such a welcoming feel and the log burner gives the most relaxing atmosphere. Spotlessly clean, comfortable sofas, large dining table and generous sized and well-equipped kitchen. Very comfortable beds and quiet surroundings meant a great night’s sleep! The only thing I heard in the morning was a wood pigeon cooing! It really is so close to the lovey Sandy Haven - only a 15 mins walk or a two-minute drive -where we swam in the sea at high tide just off the slipway. Close enough to Milford for Tesco’s and essentials on the one hand and perfect for exploring the Pembrokeshire coast and everything it has to offer on the other. Just a hop, skip and a jump to Little Haven and Broad Haven and I loved our meal at the amazing Druidstone Hotel. First class, welcoming and very comfortable and surprisingly spacious cottage, stunning Pembrokeshire coastline, incredible wildlife (I forgot to mention the baby seals!!), I would highly recommend Fiona’s Fold House Cottage to anyone! I’ll definitely be booking again soon.

Buzzard is a cosy cottage for two. It comprises of a kitchen area with fridge, oven, hob, granite work tops and a Belfast sink. Then into dining lounge area with TV and wood burner. Round the corner is a shower room with basin and WC. Upstairs is a cosy double bedroom with sloping ceilings and beams. Your dog is welcome as long as they stay off the soft furnishings and you clean up after them outside,we charge £3 per night per dog. The pub is about 25 minutes away on foot.
As the crow flies we are a mile away from the sea, there are lots of lovely beaches close by many where dogs are welcome.
As previously mentioned the pubs are down in Little Haven it is possible to walk down but you are partly on the road and coastal path. A torch would be useful at night to warn people you are there. There are 3 pubs, The Castle a gastro pub where you can take your dog. The St Brides is a more traditional pub offering a good and varied menu but not allowing dogs. The Swan is our favourite, beams and wood burners welcome you and Sunday lunch is always wonderful. Dogs are only allowed in the bar. There is also a holiday camp you pass on the way to the Cottages which is open to non residents for food and drinks.
  • We have stayed at this beautiful haven before and we are now officially hooked. The magical atmosphere of these cottages is just so perfect for restful weekends/weeks away. We live such busy, hectic lives that when we stop and go away we need everything that Bev and Paul offer. You will go once and it will exceed everything you expect and you will return time and time again. Pure magic ❤❤
