“Their Coffee actually WOW me for the first time as a barista. Seven Seeds takes its name from the precious cargo which Baba Budan smuggled out of Yemen and into India during the 17th century. We are now able to source beans from the Americas, Africa and Asia.”

Mexican Restaurant

“Mamasita, meaning 'hot babe' in Spanish, is at once a taco and tequila bar, as well as a late night diner. The food at Mamasita is fresh and delicious. It's not fancy (Mexican food rarely is) but matches seasonal produce with complementary flavours. There is an extensive and well-considered tequila list. There are also Mexican beers, micheladas, margaritas and a wine list with both local and foreign contingents. All help to wash down corn chips and guacamole at the bar. Mamasita is open for lunch and dinner, right through to late-night snacks Monday to Friday, as well as Saturday lunch and evenings. So their promise of all day, all night is certainly true.”

“The first week of every November the Flemington Racecourse is home to one of the Worlds most famous horse races the Melbourne Cup. There is no other horse race that quite compares to the “race that stops a nation” First run in 1860 , the Melbourne Cup has been stopping the nation for well over 100 years. It is this national celebration that sets it apart from other great horse races, Kentucky Derby , Japan Cup and it will be an experience not to be missed if coming to Melbourne early November . ”

“Unimelb is my alma mater and I have many a fond memory of relaxing on South Lawn with smuggled beers. The Old Arts building and the clock tower and both beautiful but if you like plants its worth taking the time to check out System Gardens behind the botany building, even when campus is overrun with people the gardens are normally much calmer which makes them the perfect spot to relax with lunch or a good book”
