Pizza Place
“A historic pizzeria where you can taste the classic Roman pizza, very thin and crunchy, as tradition dictates. Try it in the classic versions, from the “margherita” to the “4 cheeses”, up to the richer ones, with mushrooms, artichokes and egg, with seasonal vegetables or with broccoli and sausage. And as an appetizer, bruschetta is a must.”

Café
“During your walks to explore the capital I suggest you to take a short coffe break at the famous Sant'Eustachio Caffè, in the square Sant'Eustachio 82. If you raise your eyes when you pass by the church of St.Eustace, a hundred meters from the Pantheon and a few steps from Piazza Navona, you will notice the unmistakable shape of a stag's head sculpted in marble at the top of the facade. This unusual church decoration is an allusion to the life of St.Eustace who lived in Rome at the time of Emperor Trajan and was a pagan army general, before converting to Catholicism. The legend says that during a hunting party, he saw a luminous cross surmounted by the figure of Christ in between the antlers of the stag he was pursuing.”

“Freshly baked pastries, fruit tartlets, pizza al taglio (pizza by the slice) and focaccia fill display cases in this famous bakery, and there's also a tavola calda (‘hot table’) where an array of hot dishes is on offer. Order at the counter and eat at bar stools between shelves of gourmet groceries, or sit on the terrace for waiter service.”

Bakery
“At weekends a queue marks the entrance to this elegant chandelier-lit pasticceria, much-loved since 1916. Its crostate (latticed jam tarts) are iconic, as are its berry-topped crostatine fragoline di bosco. Take a number from the machine next to the register, order when it's called and then pay. A maritozzi con panna (sweet bread bun filled to bursting with whipped cream) is the downright wicked speciality to order in the next-door cafe, which also serves good coffee.”
