Captain's Cabin is an ideal quiet village location from which to explore the Cotswolds or simply to perch during the week if you have to stay away for business. A stone built semi-detached end of a cottage on two floors -it is close to Oxford, Stratford, Bicester Village and only a 55minute train ride from London. You’ll love my place because it is completely self- contained and you can relax without sharing or being disturbed. My place is good for couples and/or business travellers.
The upstairs living room has a great view down the lane to the ford at the bottom - there is a small galley kitchen and a sofa bed. Downstairs there is a comfy double bed and an en suite bathroom with great shower
Mill lane is a peaceful place to stay with a pretty ford at the bottom and traditional stone built cottages on all sides. The village has a shop with post office and a good pub.

Manor Farm Cottage is a 17th century stone and thatched cottage with oak beamed ceilings. The property has been fully renovated, offering all modern amenities whilst retaining its charm. Set in beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, it is a wonderful retreat for two where you can relax in comfort or venture out to explore the Cotswolds. There are lovely walks from the house and a network of lanes for cycling. A seating area in the beautiful garden is available for guests with views over the valley.
We have spent six years renovating our house and garden, starting work in 2011 when it was little more than a shell. It has been a labour of love and the result we feel is a peaceful retreat from the worries of the world. The house and cottage were built around 1650 and are Grade 11 listed buildings. They were built as farm workers cottages and the thatched cottage was originally the cow mans cottage. The house that we live in was converted to be used as a village school for a short time back in 1700s. We were proud to see the cottages featured in Period Living magazine highlighting our sympathetic restoration. The thatched cottage is attached to our home having its own private entrance and off road parking as well as a seating area in the garden with beautiful views. It offers a fully equipped painted oak kitchen with dishwasher and a separate oak beamed living room with dining table. A spiral staircase leads to a romantic bedroom which has a comfortable king sized bed with egyptian cotton sheets and an ensuite shower room with fluffy white towels. Set in beautiful gardens in the Dorn valley this is a perfect retreat from which to explore the Cotswolds. Organic produce is available from our kitchen gardens when in season. There is so much to explore Great Tew 3 miles Soho Farmhouse 3 miles Blenheim Palace 7 miles Chipping Norton 8 miles Bicester Village 8 miles Oxford 14 miles Daylesford farmshop 14 miles Burford 16 miles
Our neighbourhood is quiet and rural. The houses are all Grade 11 Listed stone cottages some of which are thatched. We live in a conservation area which is also an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The views from the house over the Dorn Valley are beautiful and tranquil.
  • Angela and David offer a fantastic little cottage nestled away in amongst beautiful and picturesque villages, perfect for a weekend getaway. The cottage has everything you need and is spotlessly clean and well appointed. Guests are able to use the gorgeous garden area for breakfast, or as we did: A sneaky Gin and Tonic in the sun. The hosts are welcoming, friendly and informative. Things to note for visitors: - As a cottage the doorways are small..tall guests pay attention :) - We were there for a friends party in the area and taxis / transport needs to be organised well in advance if needed.

  • A wonderful, beautiful and quiet place to stay in the gorgeous Sandford St Martin. We have been looking for somewhere good to stay which is near Soho Farmhouse, and finally we found it! Angy and David were so lovely and friendly. They even provided croissants, granola, milk, yoghurt and fresh berries (from their gorgeous garden) for breakfast. The house is newly decorated, the bed was super comfortable and it had all the amenities you'd need. This place really is a gem and we're excited to return again soon. Thank you Angy and David for being great hosts x

  • Angela and David are amazing hosts and the cottage is absolutely stunning. The building restoration was completed by Angela and David over a period of 6 years and the result is a beautiful home and equally stunning garden and outside space. My wife and I were looking for a property where we could relax and forget about our busy jobs and Angela and David's cottage was the perfect get away. As their first official airbnb guests the property was immaculate and beautifully decorated and furnished. If you would like to know more about the house and surround areas then do have a word with Angela and David as they are great company and always happy to help. We could not recommend a stay here more and would definately look to stay again in the future.

  • We had such a wonderful stay and would love to return in the future. A lot of love and attention has gone into this gorgeous cottage and Angy and David were the perfect hosts - we didn't want to leave!

There is a toilet and shower. We provide tea and coffee facilities and a toaster. Sandford is very close to soho farmhouse- a 7 minute drive. There is also a nice walk across the fields. • A lovely spacious room & ensuite. We only stayed one night but could've stayed longer. A lovely touch having bread, butter & homemade marmalade in the fridge for toast for breakfast. Would highly recommend

  • We loved this charming room, so quaint and excellent value. A lovely location and just a short drive to Blenheim Palace, the reason for our visit. We were pleasantly surprised by the extra touch of unexpected cereal and toast; we'd love to re visit to explore the beautiful countryside. Thanks also for the recomendation of a super pub (the Crown) where the food and atmosphere were excellent. Thank you.

  • Lucy was really helpful and accommodating, lovely place to stay in a very pretty village. Easy to get to Soho Farmhouse... if you don't try to take a shortcut through the fields!

  • Staying at Lucy's little place in Sandford St Martin was just delightful. I received a really warm welcome from Lucy's father and the two lovely dogs and quickly felt at home. The room exceeded expectations and was very homely and comfortable. The village location is very picturesque and quiet and I had a perfect night's sleep in the wonderfully comfortable bed. The breakfast was possibly the best I've ever had in an AirBnB room - fresh coffee, lovely granola, gorgeous bread for toasting and really delicious homemade marmalade! I have already recommended Lucy's to friends and hope to be back myself if the opportunity arises.

  • Excellent welcome. Excellent room. And extremely quiet neighbourhood. I recommend.

  • Our room in Clover Cottage was very cosy, warm and beatifully furnished. The tasty treats were a nice surprise, the homemade blackcurrant jam making our breakfast extra special. Lucy also arranged an extra matress for our daughter which was very helpfull. Thank you for a great stay. Šárka, Ivan & Wendy

  • Lucy was an amazing host: the proper Air BnB experience! She was really easy going about our arrival. The room was lovely and comfortable with everything provided. The house is a perfect base from which to explore Cotswold. We would, and will, recommend this place to any friends.

  • Lucy's room was lovely and very easy to access due to Lucy providing very good details re check in. Although we did not meet her, everything was as described, and the fact that breakfast was left for my family was a lovely surprise. Thank you for a lovely stay, we would certainly recommend the room to anyone visiting the area. :)

Honeycomb Cottage is a lovely 18th C beamed cottage with woodburner, beautifully furnished, tucked away in a quiet location down a pretty country lane with a lovely ford at the end. A cosy retreat from which to explore the Cotswolds.
    Cute old beamed cottage
    Friendly neighbours.
  • Had an absolutely wonderful stay in this adorable cottage on the edge of the stunning Cotswolds. Judy was extremely helpful from the start and couldn't have done more to inform us about the finer details of the cottage, the village and the surrounding Cotswolds area. We had only one small issue with the check out time, however this was very kindly and quickly resolved, which we were absolutely delighted about. The cottage itself was utterly charming and comfortable, we loved the wood burning stove, such a lovely feature in the living room. Highly recommend staying here, we had a really lovely weekend.

    Neale2015-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Such a sweet cottage! Though the village isn't necessarily well-stocked, this was a lovely hideaway.

    Jenny2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage! Judy's hints were very helpful, lots of great tips for local places to go and eat, made everything a lot easier, including check-in/-out. We'd happily stay here again!

  • Judy's cottage is small and very cute. I love it because it is something very different, and great way to experience local country living in the Cotswold area. It is not a place for big SUV cars. Parking spaces are tight and lanes are small. The cottage has all the amenities you need.

  • Very nice place, quiet and comfortable.

  • This cottage was a wonderfull place to land after a long journey from Australia. It the perfect amount of space and for us and our daughter (2). It was easy to access other areas of Oxfordshire and there is a lovely local Lebanese restaurant. Thank you Judy for a great stay.

  • We spent beautiful days in a house located in a quiet green area of the Oxford countryside (25 min). Inside cozy atmosphere with soft, chic and rustic at once. This is a small, cozy nest in which he does not lack anything. This is a spacious chalet that has a cozy living room (sofa and two armchairs). There are two bedrooms upstairs, a nice well equipped kitchen, a full bathroom and a small courtyard with table and chairs. the general framework is very nice, very romantic. We enjoyed this rustic friendly atmosphere. judy is very developed with travelers like us. we liked its guidance to prepare our arrival.

Georgian farmhouse situated in a very pretty Cotswold village just north of Oxford and near the Tews and the market town of Chipping Norton. The house is surrounded by a walled garden that is just under an acre.
A Georgian farmhouse situated in the Cotswolds near Chipping Norton.
A very pretty village situated is a lovely Cotswold setting.
  • The farmhouse is very beautiful set in a very quiet village - the village itself doesn't have much in it but in neighbouring villages there is a great pub and a local shop. On arrival there was a welcome basket and a gratefully received bottle of wine. Like all good farmhouses should this one had a magnificent kitchen which was definitely the hub of the house and I loved relaxing in the armchairs by the wood burner. Being a family home there was also lots of entertainment for our children and they described the house as 'EPIC'! They particularly loved having a back garden and being able to play football. We really enjoyed our time here and loved the tranquility that the Cotswolds had to offer.

Beautiful, comfortable Cotswold home in stunning village & lovely countryside - lived in family home for majority of year. Utility room & cloak room. Pretty and extensive gardens; swings, trampolines, hammock. Close to Oxford (20 miles), Woodstock (8 miles), Chipping Norton (7 miles), Great Tew, Soho Farmhouse (1 mile).
  • Beautiful house, gorgeously decorated, very clean throughout and recently renovated in a picturesque Cotswolds village. Amazing large garden at the back with swings, picnic bench and trampoline backing onto fields, and pretty sun trap garden at the side. Eight of us stayed in five separate large bedrooms, plus two kids loved the toy room and outdoor Wendy house. Very helpful and communicative hosts. Thanks for everything!

  • We were a group of friends who stayed at Charlotte's house for a long-weekend. The house is beautiful and very spacious, with good communal spaces for cooking, playing boardgames, and spending time together. We enjoyed the location and the welcome basket that Charlotte left for us was a nice touch. The house was prepared well for us, and Charlotte double-checked sleeping and bedding arrangements in order to make sure that everything was just right. She also sent through some information about local walks, and gave recommendations of places to eat as well as Cotswolds attractions to visit. Our only issue was that we found the wifi signal to be rather slow and quite weak in parts of the house. Charlotte was easy to get in touch with when we had a question about the heating, and good to communicate with throughout the booking process. I'd recommend staying at Charlotte's place.

Kate and Carl weclome you to Black Barn Cottage, a comfortable, ground-floor studio with en-suite facilities built in 2017. It's an ideal base for visiting the Cotswolds, Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Silverstone and Stratford-upon-Avon, or relaxing after a day's shopping in Bicester Village. The cottage is located on our smallholding at the edge of the picturesque village of Steeple Aston.
We have designed and furnished Black Barn Cottage with your comfort and convenience in mind. Much of the work has been carried out by local crafts people and we have used reclaimed materials where possible. Prepare a meal from tasty local ingredients, then relax in front of a film, or curl up with a book in the cozy sitting area. Please let us know if you prefer 2 twin beds, or a double bed.
Steeple Aston is an ancient settlement with roots going back to Roman times, maybe earlier. Today, with a population of around 1,000, it is a busy village with plenty to see and do. The village has its own shop and Post Office, Harris Stores, and a traditional pub and restaurant, the Red Lion. Steeple Aston is surrounded by the farmland of the Cherwell Valley, where many footpaths and bridleways provide access to beautiful views across the water meadows where the river, the Oxford Canal and the railway come together. Keen cyclists will enjoy the undulating landscape. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen. Kingfishers can be spotted by the river and canal and a wide variety of birds visit our smallholding and the surrounding fields.

  • If you're looking for a getaway from the big city yet close enough to Oxford book here! From the beginning I felt like I was in a fairytale. The loft itself has all you need to feel comfortable and magical. I opened the windows right away and even left the door open to feel the breeze. The aroma of the honey suckle bush rises to meet you. The basket of goodies allowed us to sleep in and not worry about finding a breakfast spot. The Red Lion down the way about 4-5 minutes down the sidewalk was a great neighborhood pub. Only keep in mind the hours are not the same as the website. Call first. The post office/ small store was 1-2 minute down the sidewalk on the left after leaving the croft. Perfect. We loved the footpath that leads to the church. It's really a postcard of a town. We used this spot to make a day trip to the Cotswold (45 minutes) and a day trip to Oxford (20 minutes by car.). There is a bus line that takes you to Oxford so you don't have to drive into the city. I do highly recommend not driving into the city! Overall the host set up the place and I'm afraid that If I'm honest when I come to get back here the spots will be full! But this place... dream!

  • What a charming place and a wonderful hostess! Best accessible by car Steeple Aston needs to be featured in an Agatha Christie movie. Our loft was beautifully appointed, beds were comfortable, everything needed for a comfortable stay was provided: kitchen items, towels, iron and ironing board, music, reading material AND a perfectly wonderful welcome basket with all kinds of fabulous foods. We had a parking space, there was a great village shop about 2 minutes walk, and Oxford was about 30 minutes drive.

We didn't get to venture into the village or surrounding areas due to our hectic work schedule however the area looks stunning. Brilliant communication from the host (she was away while we stayed). Set in our garden amidst beautiful Oxfordshire countryside on the edge of the Cotswolds, Forge cottage offers a wonderfully relaxing, calm and peaceful space for 2 people to enjoy. Lower Heyford is a great location for so much to do and enjoy in the local area, a train station in the village and easy access to the M40.
Entrance is through a gate adjacent to our house for exclusive use by our guests. We recommend that guests park along the quiet road here. An enclosed courtyard space with table and chairs makes a lovely sunny spot for a morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening. The entrance to the cottage opens into a well equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle and nespresso machine. We provide essentials including tea, coffee, milk and sugar as well as a complimentary basket of homemade sourdough and biscuits, orange juice, butter, milk and eggs. French doors open onto the main garden which guest are very welcome to use. The bathroom and toilet are located to the right hand side of the front door. There are beautiful handmade terracotta floor tiles throughout the downstair areas which are wonderfully cool in the summer and the welcome underfloor heating and woodburning stove in the living room ensure it is cosy in the winter. The living area itself is light and airy being the full height of the cottage with a vaulted ceiling and a mezzanine level above, where the bedroom is located. Steep 'space saving' stairs lead off the kitchen near the french doors to the bedroom with a hatch style opening. Though the bedroom mezzanine area is in the roof of the cottage with sloping ceiling it is surprisingly spacious and comfortable.
We love this area and are spoilt for choice for places to visit. Private stately homes as well as several notable National Trust properties include Waddesdon Manor and the fabulous Stowe landscape gardens, are all within easy reach. On our doorstep Blenheim Palace and Woodstock are about a 10 minute drive away. Bicester shopping village for designer labels at discounted prices, Soho farmhouse and Daylesford farm shop are all a short drive away too. Should you want to leave the car behind the train station in the village is a 5 minute walk away with a direct service to Oxford in under 15 minutes, or onto London. Slightly further afield is the lovely town of Chipping Norton, Stow on the Wold, Burford and other Cotswold villages. Stratford upon Avon, Leamington Spa, Milton Keynes and Warwick are all accessible in around 45 minutes. You can take leisurely strolls along the ever changing towpath along the canal or stride out acrosss the rolling Oxfordshire countryside and seek out cosy pubs. Locally, there is a pub in the village, plus a shop and cafe by the canal, where you could even hire a narrow boat for the day!

We will definitely be coming back in the near future! Gabriella and James

  • We loved this place - so much so that we're already planning our next visit. From the woodburner, to the bath, to the wonderfully appointed kitchen - everything met our needs so perfectly. The breakfast basket (particularly the eggs) was welcome, as were the thoughtful handpicked flowers. The living room is absolutely perfect, a great bookshelf to peruse and a very comfortable sofa. The weather allowed us to stay in and light the fire - and most days we walked out from the front door, to a whole host of footpaths, and along the canal. The small bath was delightful and the special treat was to have such nice toiletries. Having breakfast in the garden one morning was lovely - and Sue made us so welcome on every front. This place has shot into our top 5 all time greats on Airbnb.... One note for anyone staying on a Friday night - the local shop in Kirtlington is run by a fantastic family who cook curry and rice just on Fridays. Kirtlington Stores and Post Office. Then you take along one container for your curry, one for your rice, pick up your raita and if you're us, buy a samosa and onion bhaji to complement. It's brilliant, simple and delicious....

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Sue's beautiful cottage. She made us very welcome and we really appreciated the lovely personal touches which made us feel very much at home. The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the local area, and there's a friendly pub just a short stroll down the road. Thank you again Sue - we hope to return before too long

  • Juliet was a wonderful host and her house was amazing! I went with my boyfriend and mom and we were all very impressed by the place and how Juliet and husband received us! The house is situated in a very quiet area but easily reachable by car, we parked it in front of the house. You could see that the host is very attentive to detail, there were fresh flowers in every room, towels, slippers even bathrobes. We had tea and coffee available all day and the breakfast included toast, crumpets, fresh fruit, tea, coffee-delicious. My mom still talks about how much she enjoyed staying here!

    Maria2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Juliet and Rory were terrific hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, the company was welcoming and the home simply beautiful. The close proximity of excellent dining was an added bonus.

Very well appointed and clean Very homely and good value The continental breakfast was generous and delicious and served over a nice chat with Juliet and Rory Very quiet and attractive village with an excellent pub Extremely cordial hosts, who were most helpful at all times Top marks all round and would definitely stay here again.

  • Beautiful home and incredible hosts. We loved exploring Juliet's gardens, sipping tea in the sitting room, and walking around the corner to the fabulous local pub. Easy to get around the Cotswolds and into Oxford. The only problem was that we wanted to stay longer!

    Beth2017-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We've travelled a lot with Airbnb in the Cotswolds, but we've never learned so much history from a single house. Juliet's place is a wonderful collection of items that survived over centuries. Good taste and authenticity are probably the best words that describe our experience. We visited with parents and they were delighted to discover the house and the garden.

    Ștefan2016-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Juliet and Rory's house is absolutely memorable. The house is very charming full of details, the garden is absolutely beautiful, the bed rooms and bathroom smell lovely and formal breakfast at lovely breakfast dining room was a delightful experience - my girls said to me - Mom, I wish we could sometimes have breakfast like these... Juliet and Rory are very nice and warm hearted hosts. They addresses every need we had and also the conversations with them were so enjoyable because their traveling experience and knowldeges. Our English village life experience was very nice because of Juliet and Rory! We only wish we could stay for longer or come back again!

    Wen2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Juliet's Cotswolds cottage was a treat to stay in, beautifully presented, and very comfortable. Juliet and Rory provided a friendly warm and welcoming home away from home in a lovely village. We enjoyed the continental breakfast in the family kitchen and walked to dinner at the perfect little village pub 2 doors away. Juliet was very helpful with suggestions of places to see by car as her home is nearby to Blenheim Palace and the amazing but little known Chastleton House.

An idyllic characterful cottage in Little Tew, a stone's throw from Soho Farmhouse. On the edge of the picturesque village, with oodles of comfort and charm, a great place for fun with friends or family.
This sixteenth century, listed, detached cottage is set behind Water Lane House. Parking is shared with a path leading down to the cottage, past a vegetable garden and surrounded by a beautiful ancient orchard. You will enjoy the peace of your own private garden with paved area for sitting out and eating and a lawn with a small stream running through the end past the apple and blossom trees. The cottage has all the original features you would expect, old exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces and a winder staircase. On entering the cottage, you will find a hallway with plenty of hanging space for coats and boots, to the left is the spacious sitting room with large sofas, a woodburner and cosy window seats. The fully-equipped beamed kitchen has recently been renovated but still retains its strong rural charm. It leads into a laundry room and downstairs loo, with butlers sink. Upstairs the cottage is divided into two parts each with its own staircase. The large master bedroom has a recently installed ensuite bathroom and enjoys views across the fields. The second and third adjoining bedrooms lead through from the second staircase into each other and look over the garden. The second bedroom has a double bed and the second, a single Antique brass bed with a freestanding bath and basin. The interiors of the cottage have been styled to reflect its charming rural aesthetic whilst ensuring comfort is paramount.
The cottage is within walking distance of Soho Farmhouse and 3.5 miles from Chipping Norton commonly viewed as the "Gateway to the Cotswolds". There are many great places to eat including, The White Horse at Duns Tew, Daylesford and many, many others. There are some great local walks and if you were feeling energetic you can borrow bicycles from the owners and set off on your own adventure.
  • We loved staying in the cottage. It has bucketfuls of charm as did its hosts who were so helpful. A great place to stay in the idyllic Cotswolds, lovely walks, pubs and handy for dropping into Soho Farmhouse. We had a great time!

Cooper's cottage is a delightful and picturesque thatched cottage, lovingly restored by the owners and set in the tranquil and friendly Oxfordshire village of Lower Heyford. The cottage is full of period features and stylishly decorated and furnished. The village is just one and a half hours drive from London and within 30 minutes of Oxford and The Cotswolds. Cooper's Cottage is a an ideal retreat from city life for a family or couple. The ground floor has a spacious and comfortable living room, separate dining area and fully equipped, cottage style kitchen. Since the cottage is two small dwellings put together, there are two separate stair cases to up to the first floor. The main body of the cottage (thatched section) is thought to be over 400 years old and one of the first dwellings to be built in Lower Heyford. The original front door would have been where the middle window in the sitting room is currently. The property is Grade 2 listed. -The entrance to the cottage is from the rear of the property, leading into a dining area with tiled floor and antique dining table. -Galley-style fitted kitchen with plenty of work space and is fully equipped that you should need for a short or extended stay. -Comfortable living room with period features, oak beams and wood burning stove. -Downstairs bathroom features a stand-alone bath and walk in shower. -The main bedroom is on the first floor and has a comfortable double bed and wooden floor -The second bedroom has a single bed, original wood flooring and is stylishly furnished. -The third bedroom has bunk beds and is suitable for children or young adults. Please note, the children's room is in a separate part of the house from the Master Bedroom. -There is an upstairs toilet.
Things to do: -Woodstock and Blenheim Palace - the birth place of Winston Churchill. Lots of information on line. -Oxford - the train in the village runs between Banbury and Oxford and comes approximately every 2 hours in both directions. It takes 12 minutes to get to Oxford. -Oxford Canal - on the far side of the playing field opposite the cottage can be found the Oxford Canal. Turn right and there is a lovely circular walk to Upper Heyford and back taking you either side of the canal. Turn left and within 5 minutes you will be at Heyford train station and also Heyford Wharf. If you are feeling more adventurous it is a 14 mile walk direct to Oxford City centre along the canal and 12 miles to Banbury. Both walks end close to the train station and an easy journey home! -The Wharf - Oxfordshire Narrowboats are based at the wharf and canal boats can be hired here by the day, great fun! There is also a small shop selling basics like milk and butter and a cafe called Kizzie's at the wharf, serving light meals and afternoon tea as well as breakfast at some times of the year - highly recommended. (email hidden) -Bicester Village - needs no introduction for most people, but in case you are not a convert, it is an outlet village selling designer clothes at cut down prices and is a 10 minute drive away! There is also a large Tesco supermarket next to Bicester Village. If you need food shopping as well we suggest you park here and walk over to Bicester Village, although there is a two hour limit on parking at Tesco. -Rousham - if you drive or walk across the bridge out of Lower Heyford towards Woodstock and look left you will see Rousham House. A beautiful, privately owned country house. The gardens are open most of the year to look around (no children under 15!). Possible to walk to Rousham in 20 minutes.
  • A charming well-equipped cottage in a pretty village in the Oxfordshire countryside. A lovely getaway for harassed city dwellers.

  • Sarah's house was exactly what we were looking for. It was extremely comfortable and absolutely spotless. Thank you Sarah!

    Lydia2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a weekend at the property, which is very well connected to lots of lovely parts of the Cotswolds, and is in a safe and quiet cul de sac. The house itself is just superb - every last detail has been tastefully chosen to create a hotel-like feel to Sarah's home, and the layout, fittings and amenities made life that bit easier - we felt totally relaxed straight away knowing we had everything we needed to hand. Sarah herself was so helpful and kind throughout our stay, despite being busy and away with her family. She was very reassuring and hospitable and we felt so well looked after. We highly recommend the property.

    Vanessa2016-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is a great host, warm welcoming and friendly. Communications were first rate making booking and pre-stay communications painless. Her beautiful home is well-located, light, airy, well equipped and immaculate. Although we didn't have time to make the most of it the large and rather pretty garden and seating area accessed from the spacious dining kitchen were particularly lovely. Highly recommended.

    Debra2016-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Arriving at Sarah's house is like booking in at a boutique hotel - a lot of thought and care has gone into creating a comfortable, relaxing & well equipped home. Our children loved it and have insisted we come back - which we will. Great value too.

    Robert2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • My partner, two of my colleagues and I had a 6 nights stay in this house. We arrived at midnight, as I was driving all way from the North, I was extremely tired and only dreamed about hot shower good night sleep. However I was absolutely disappointed when I found that all the bathrooms weren't clean, it was dirty marks and black hair around the shower door and floor. The bedding in the two rooms wasn't fresh, I am absolutely sure that someone have been sleeping on it, because we found dirty marks and black hair on and under pillows. Also all rubbish bins were absolutely full, I found waisted food in the fridge and fridge wasn't clean inside, I had to clean it by myself, because I couldn't put my food inside, as fridge was pretty dirty. Moreover it was thick layer of the dust everywhere and we had massive problems with the internet connection, as it kept on felling every 20 minutes. Furthermore we couldn't find a single place where we could hang our clothes, as all wardrobes and shelves were full of the owner's clothes and stuff. The next morning I contacted the host regarding the problems we have in the house. After long negotiations with the host, she managed to find a cleaner for us, that arrived one day late. Due to this I had to clean the bathroom by myself, because it was too dirty to be used. Also I wanted to wash the bedding and surprisingly found dirty underwear with blood spots inside of the washing machine, when I called the host regarding this, she told me very calmly that I need to put it in her laundry bag which was upstairs in our bedroom, it was absolutely disgusting!!!! Moreover after all of this she dared to say, that I need to reorganize clothes in her wardrobe in order to put ours, and she is not able to help us with internet connection problems. However our bad experience is not ending there, her neighbors were spaying on us all the time as we were criminals and one of the neighbor came to me and very rudely asked, what are we doing in her friends house. The only reason we didn't left the house the 1st day, because we couldn't find any alternative. Potential guests please be aware of the host, waist of time, money and your nerves!!!! After a week we checked out, she was accusing me, that I smashed her cafetiere, and later even claimed that I took it with me.

    Margarita2017-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sarahs home is a beautiful, tranquil and well presented getaway in a quiet cul de sac with lovely neighbours. The house is about 15 mins drive away from the stunning Blenhiem palace and the village of Woodstock with many more attractions in comfortable driving distance. Everything is in good working order, wifi very fast and everything you need from kitchen utensils to sqeaky clean washrooms! She was very good at communicating throughout my stay even though i was out the country with work on the run up to staying. From walking into the house, felt immediatley relaxed and first impressions will stay with me. Sarah clearly takes pride in herself and her home.

    Debbie2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most incredible weekend at Sarah's house. The house was absolutely stunning. It felt like we were in a 5* hotel. Everything we could have wanted and more. A very calming inspirational place to stay, and a great location in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside. We will definatly be staying again

    Jonathan2016-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was the perfect host, although we sadly never got chance to meet her. Everything was as described, and we loved staying there. Our two boys really enjoyed playing in the spacious garden, which was also ideal for a glass of wine in the evening! We would definitely recommend staying at Sarah's place, and will not hesitate to book again when we're looking for somewhere to stay near to Blenheim Palace and the beautiful Cotswolds.

This is a large converted barn, set within the owners land, with wooded area just behind the barn and beautiful walks from your door! The barn is very private and you have a large open plan kitchen/diner/living area and a spacious bedroom, which can be a twin or double bed, with an en-suite.
West Barn is a lovely converted barn, set in the grounds of the owners home, backing onto trees and fields all around the barn. The cottage is in a great location, it's quiet and private, but yet everything is just down the road, like Woodstock and Witney. You have a large open plan kitchen/diner/living room and a separate bedroom, which can either be a super king or twin, with an en-suite bathroom. One pet is welcome by arrangement. Please note they have game shooting on the estate at certain times of the year.
Tackley is a picturesque village situated in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, approximately 8 miles north of Oxford and 3 miles from Woodstock, home of Blenheim Palace. The name Tackley is derived from 'tack' which means sheep or ewe and 'ley' which means glade or clearing! The village is very pretty, has a good village shop and a local pub The Gardiner Arms. There is another pub just outside the village called Sturdy's Castle. Nearby there are some superb attractions to visit. Rousham Hall is very close by and although there are restrictions to visiting etc, it is a beautiful stately home. Oxford,'The city of the Dreaming Spires' and colleges is just 15 min's by car. There are literally hours of things to do there! For the determined shopper, Bicester Village which is a vast outlet centre.

  • A spacious and tastefully furnished barn set on a beautiful estate surrounded by gorgeous countryside. Lots of beautiful trees and pretty walks, bird song and squirrels! A perfect getaway spot. There were chocolate brownies and a bottle of wine waiting on arrival, but be sure to bring your own basic supplies. All in all, I would definitely recommend it as a lovely experience.

  • Host was lovely let us settle in with gorgeous brownies and a lovely bottle of wine. The barn is beautiful and set in beautiful surroundings Everything was as described we didn't need for anything at all and we had the peaceful rest needed in a gorgeous place. We hope to return .

  • Overall a great stay and a fantastic property but be aware of the more complex than usual arrival process. We had a slightly fraught check in process that left us sitting outside the property for an hour in the dark at 10pm (despite confirming the details and our check-in time at booking we missed an email saying that we needed to contact the actual owner to arrange things) and having not heard back, we nearly ended up cancelling the stay and leaving. Overall we are glad we didn't leave as the property is lovely and we would be delighted to go back some day.

    Anita2016-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • We were staying over Xmas and were touched to find a Christmas tree, bottle of wine, Christmas card and chocs waiting as a welcome pack. The barn is beautifully furnished with loads of hot water and truly comfortable beds. We cooked on Boxing Day for family nearby and it was a joy to work in the kitchen.

  • A fantastic host! Amy was extremely good at communicating prior to our arrival. We were visiting Silverstone for the Grand Prix, and the property was ideally situated for accessing the Circuit, as the road closures don't affect your journey in. There was private parking at the side of the property which was ideal. We were greeted by Amy and immediately made to feel very welcome, with a cup of tea and some biscuits! The room was imacculate, with a Kingsize bed and excellent en-suite shower room. Overall, a wonderful experience, reasonably priced and hosted by lovely people!! We'd definitely visit again!

Cromwell Barn is a self contained cottage set in south facing gardens of a period home in the heart of a bustling Oxfordshire village on the edge of the Cotswolds. Deddington has fantastic pubs, excellent shops and bus links to the centre of Oxford.
Cromwell Barn is located in the centre of the small, market town of Deddington, in a quiet setting behind our home, Cromwell House. The Barn has its own kitchen, bathroom, seating area and double bedroom with use of a walled garden.
HIstoric Deddington offers a wide choice of pubs, restaurants (including Chinese and Indian), a great Deli and local village shop, several hairdressers and fantastic beauty therapy offerings all within walking distance. Deddington offers so much in itself but also has great access to Oxford by bus, is an hour out of London by train and is close to tourist attractions such as Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and Shakespeare's Stratford-Upon-Avon.
  • We were given a very warm welcome. Lucy and her husband were charming. Our room was private, extremely well stocked and clean. the bed was comfy and there was even a piano! Deddington is a lovely village and the local pub - the Unicorn was absolutely fantastic. The pie pub also has delicious pies! The only downside was that England lost to Australia in the rugby!! but there was nothing that could be done about that!

  • Exactly what we were looking for. A quiet and private separate building, with comfy beds and self-catering facilities. We loved the walking, and it was so close to drive to a number of great places. Lucy and Matt were lovely and really looked after us, thanks so much for everything, it was just the break from our house renovations that we needed! Also, the Unicorn pub was great too!

  • We felt very welcome from the start and the breakfast items on arrival were a nice touch. It was very laid back and we could come and go as we pleased. Deddington was a lovely village and we enjoyed dinner in the Unicorn pub and a cream tea at Foodies, both of which we would recommend. Lucy was very helpful in advance with recommendations of where to eat. A very enjoyable stay in a lovely cottage in a nice location.

  • Beautiful little cottage, Matt and Lucy were very welcoming and great hosts. Village is delightful, well placed and has some great pubs for food & drink. Highly recommend it!

  • I would like to say thank you to Matt and Lucy our wonderful Hosts in Deddington. They opened their House and hearts to us for our Short Stay. The Cosy Cottage was as described, clean warm and Cozy!!! There was Food in the Refrigerator and Cupboards fro us upon arrival.. I would recommend anyone near the Deddington area plan an overnight(s) stay with Matt and Lucy... There are many great restaurants and Pubs, as well as shopping in the area! If your a Race fan, this place is perfect for your Silverstone trip!!! Many Thanks Cass and Jason

  • What can we say, a fantastic experience enhanced in equal measure by this wonderful cottage and the hospitality of Matt and Lucy. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the family (and their adorable dogs - Filey and Monty). The barn is exactly as described, set just behind their family home in a private setting - a wonderfully quiet place to relax considering its central location in the village. Homely, comfortable with some rustic charm thrown in, it has everything you need! They were extremely flexible with arrival/check-out times and very knowledgeable about the area, suggesting some great things to do and see whatever your interests! Oxfordshire has so much to offer and this is the perfect base - 30 mins to Oxford, 20 mins to Bicester and the same to Blenheim Palace to name but a few. Two days just wasn't enough! We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to anyone who wants a piece of tranquility in the countryside.

    Neil2015-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We easily booked with Lucy for a 4-night stay, and her communication and directions were excellent. Their home is right on the square of beautiful little Deddington - easy to find, plenty of parking, and several pubs, restaurants, and a grocery within several hundred yards. The place is really a 1 bedroom apartment behind their home, fully equipped with a full kitchen, bath, living room, reading loft, and comfortable and quiet bedroom. WiFi access also. There's a huge back (yard) garden as well. The whole place was clean, amazingly quiet, and very comfortable. I would stay there again without hesitancy. Lucy and her family (& two lovely dogs) made us feel completely comfortable and at home, and we feel as though we've met new friends. HIGHLY recommend.

Holcombe House was once a hotel but has recently been turned back into a family home. We loved the character of the old building with its ancient beams and Georgian facade but were keen to turn it into a modern home with eco touches such as solar panels and rainwater harvesting. We think the result is a light-filled, spacious building which is surprisingly cosy. Deddington is superbly located, just 40 mins from Stratford, Oxford and 15 mins from Banbury with its fast London trains and the M40.
We believe that holidays are for relaxing and so Holcombe House is filled with comfy seating areas perfect for reading, listening to your favourite tunes, swinging in a hammock, and enjoying that perfect cocktail. But holidays are also for fun and and so you will find that not only is the house perfect for playing hide-and-seek and sardines (be warned - last time we played it took half an hour to find Oscar), but there are lots of toys, games, scooters, bikes, swings as well as a small gym and a pool table. The kitchen - this is a large light room with French windows opening onto the garden, a woodburner for chilly days, a table that seats 10, a double-size electric range with gas hob, relaxed seating area, large island with double sink, an under-counter fridge and a dishwasher. There is a separate walk-in cold larder off the pantry which leads off the kitchen and has a second dishwasher, fridge-freezer and a large butlers' sink. Gadgets are stored in here too! Mini-gym/playroom - this is up some stairs off the kitchen and currently contains a pool table, wireless speaker, exercise bike, mini trampoline, standing punch bag, mats, free weights and skipping rope. Family room - off the kitchen. A large L-shaped room with large, flat screen tv, DVD player and DVDs, Wi U, shelves full of jigsaws and board games, comfy sofa and another seating area facing the woodburner with an upright piano. Downstairs Loo Off the hall (take care - the tiles are original and very old and the hundreds of feet that have walked over them during the lifetime of the house have etched their history in a rather uneven manner!) is a slightly more grown-up sitting room with an open fire, perfect for a quiet drink or sneaky morning coffee with the papers. Boot room - plenty of space for coats etc and a dog bed or two. You are welcome to borrow the wellies and tennis rackets. Master bedroom - light and beautiful, facing the garden. En Suite bathroom - large and light with walk in shower, roll top bath and double basins. Bedroom 2 - Our youngest daughter's room (rather pink!) with bunk beds, lots of toys and books and a swing. Faces the street. Laundry room - with large, walk-in airing cupboard, two Sheila Maids, washing machine and tumble drier. Family bathroom - with bath, large shower and quirky porthole window. Bedroom 3 - very tranquil, with double bed, beautiful A-frame ceiling and exposed beams, facing the garden. Stairs to top floor - landing area currently set up with a large collection of playmobil. Bedroom 4 - Our son's room with double bed, sofa and desk, facing the street. Bedroom 5 - Our eldest daughter's room with double bed, very quirky ground-level sash window facing the street and en-suite bathroom with shower over bath. Bathroom 4 - small but bright and modern with large shower. This leads off a further bedroom which faces the back with a single bed which would allow an extra guest. There is also a camp bed and a travel cot for infants. (We have a Trip Trapp high chair which would suit babies from 6 months.) Garden - a large courtyard with table and chairs and raised pond, flanked by beautifully planted raised beds. Stairs up to grass area and swings and play house (please note we built this ourselves and would ask you to thoroughly inspect it for suitability before allowing your children to play on it - it is definitely not suitable for very young children!). There is another, smaller table in this area. Badmington set, toy tractor, scooters and five bikes of assorted sizes which you are welcome to use. Steps to small white gate which accesses the 3 private parking spaces.
Deddington is a very friendly, vibrant village with plenty of amenities within walking distance including: tennis courts and playgrounds, a well-stocked Co-op, an excellent butcher/delhi, a flower shop, a cafe/tea-room, three restaurants (one French, one Indian and one Chinese), 4 pubs (3 of which serve - very good - food) and a Takeaway. In addition, an excellent Thai van visits on a Tuesday night and a very good Pizza van on a Wednesday. Numerous footpaths around the village take you through the lovely, rolling North Oxfordshire countryside and also the beautiful site of Deddington's ancient castle where the young at heart (and knees) can clamber over its steep Mote. Deddington is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds (Chipping Norton is 20 minutes and Soho Farmhouse is 10 minutes away), Blenheim Palace (12 minutes), Warwickshire and the beautiful and historic towns of Stratford-Upon-Avon and Leamington Spa (both 40 minutes), 17 miles from Oxford, Bletchley Park (30 minutes), Bicester Village (20 minutes) and Milton Keynes (a teenage shoppers' paradise!) with its snow dome, rock climbing centres etc is 50 minutes away. Trains to London leave hourly from Bicester (approx 45 minutes journey) and Banbury (approx 55 minutes). Both have plenty of car parking facilities and take you into the surprisingly small and pleasant Marylebone Station.
  • Fiona was a great host, who made sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The house is beautiful and the village is so lovely - we all wanted to move after our visit! I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area - we actually were visiting on business and found the location quiet, but the house perfect (in terms of rooms, bathrooms etc) to cater to our needs. If we are working in the area again, we would love to come back.

This is a charming country cottage on a friendly and sociable farm setting near to Oxford and Bicester, outside a beautiful village with two pubs, shop and post office. Shared with a professional female. The single room is light and airy with full chest of drawers and wardrobe. Extra mattress underneath bed for additional guest. Two windows overlooking rear garden and beautiful rural vista. Quiet and peaceful with plenty of off-road parking. Shared spacious kitchen and living area. A top spot!
  • Stayed one night at Caty's place in Sept 2017. Great little cottage in a wonderfully quiet and picturesque location. Didn't get to meet Caty due to me arriving so late and her departing early in the morning, but she left the lamp on in my room and put out breakfast for me to help myself. Would definitely stay here again, great value! Thanks Caty!

  • The Stables was the perfect home away from home for a weekend away. The rooms have lovely charm, and were very comfortable for the four of us... spacious open plan kitchen and diner (for a cottage!) and a beautiful wood burner, as well! The surrounding area is stunning, and it was a perfect country retreat but close enough to amenities (and the perfectly timeless Falkland Arms, too! A must do!) Oh, and it was a total bonus to buy eggs from their very own hens! Jo was always prompt in her communications, and we found check-in and out very easy. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Jo!

  • Beautifully fitted out accommodation with everything you need for a short stay. I would hesitate to book if you have a toddler/young child. The floor is flag stones, the eating area high stools at the bar, and the garden is - obviously - used by guest's dogs so there were smears of dog mess on the grass. For older children and families/couples with dogs it is ideal. Wonderful hosts. Brilliant location for us visiting family in Banbury. A very homely place to stay.

    Joanna2017-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great Place to stay!

  • The house was great and had everything we needed. Plenty of space for us, the kids and the dogs! Location was great - short drive to the Falkland Arms and surrounded by lots of lovely walks. Will definitely be back!

The Bothy is a gorgeous two bed detached cottage in the heart of Deddington - a market town situated in north Oxfordshire. Enjoy farmers markets, 4 fabulous pubs, a village shop, post office & restaurants. It's a cosy home with 2 reception rooms, 1 dbl b/m, 1 sgl b/m (no bed), bathroom (w/shower), modern kitchen and private courtyard. This house is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers mostly. Please note the furniture in the photos is no longer accurate.

  • We had a wonderful stay at this cosy and stylish cottage. The cottage is very picturesque and was very well kitted out with all we needed. It is a very short walk from Deddington's village green, which has a lovely deli as well as a coop & some nice pubs. We were met by the host, who was very friendly and helpful, suggesting lots of good walks and places to eat and drink. The walks and scenery all around the cottage are beautiful. We fully recommend this cottage, it's great value, beautifully presented and is perfect for a romantic get away!

A charming family home, lovingly renovated with an open plan kitchen, and a large garden. Located in a quiet village, opposite the farm shop on the edge of the cotswolds and 17 miles from Oxford.
A large and light, recently refurbished, double bedroom with vaulted ceiling and a seperate single bed on a mezzanine floor. The ensuite bathroom has a freestanding cast iron versaille bath and walk in shower. The bedroom which is on the ground floor and separated from the main house overlooks the garden to the west.
There is a market in the village selling local produce on the 3rd saturday of every month from 10-12. We are 30 minutes from the centre of Oxford and 10 minutes from Chipping Norton. The village itself is small and friendly with a pub, church and post office. Nearby Deddington and Bloxham have a good range of local facilities including a small supermarket, petrol station, delicatessens, pubs and restaurants. The new Soho Farmhouse is 7 minutes drive away and Oxford is only half an hour by car or there are frequent trains from Banbury. For dog lovers and walkers there are many trails and footpaths and it is wonderful biking countryside.
  • Abby and her family were the perfect hosts. We were only visiting the area overnight for a friend's wedding and my only regret is that this meant we didn't get enough time to truly enjoy the Old Vicarage. The room was beautiful, the bed was wonderfully comfortable and breakfast was just what the doctor ordered. I wish I had the opportunity to enjoy the swimming lake and the grounds some more. Abby, it was a pleasure to meet you and your family, thank you for treating us like friends and not like strangers and I promise you I will be back.

    Verity-Jane2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Abby's home is truly beautiful- we didn't have much time there as it was a flying visit, which was a shame because it would have been nice to explore the area. The room itself was gorgeous, and breakfast was really yummy.

  • Ian is a great host, showed us around and helped us with finding a place for dinner and booking a table. And we've talked a lot, discussed sooo many things :) House is small and cozy. Clean. Fresh air, quiet village, rabbits running around if you go for a walk. Great place to spend a night if you're travelling by car. Totally recommend.

  • Ian is a wonderful host, I could not have felt more at home. He was very responsive beforehand and came to greet me once I arrived. In my busy transfer from city to countryside he made me feel comfortable and at home. We enjoyed wonderful conversation and some delicious food! I had my own space and bathroom and felt at ease in his company. The Rectory itself is beautiful and well worth the stay. Though I was staying there for a wedding and unable to take full advantage of the cottage's fresh produce and quiet country vibe, I would definitely consider a visit again in the future to take in these delights. Fantastic stay and a friendly and welcoming host! Thanks Ian!
