  • What a wonderful getaway! Cannot recommend the treehouse enough. My wife and I are living locally and had heard great things about the treehouse so we decided we had to check it out for ourselves, we were not disappointed. Richard was the host with the most, a true gent. We were lucky enough to have glorious weather for our stay and we took full advantage of the deck which held the sun all day. The view is superb. The toasty croissants served in the morning via a pulley system is a wonderful addition. We have already booked our next escape in the treehouse. Top marks!

  • Amazing experience, highly recommend. The most unique Airbnb I have stayed in. Location is great with only a 5m walk to Cork city centre. The treehouse is fascinating, so clean, comfortable, warm and has great views over Cork city. The breakfast is an amazing touch, I’d go back for that alone! Will definitely be returning!

  • This is a MUST STAY! The treehouse was phenomenal! The views are absolutely amazing, the breakfast of warm croissants and jam were delicious and super cute! I can’t even begin to describe how nice and accommodating Richard was! Richard had sanitized the entire place (due to the covid-19 pandemic) and you could smell that it was clean. I’m not sure what the reviews about the treehouse moving so much it woke them up was about because it was an extremely windy night when we stayed and it moved but definitely not enough to bother me and I get motion sickness extremely easy. When we come back to cork we will for sure be staying here again! It was a tie between the Ballyseede castle we stayed at and this for our favorite place we stayed during our 10 day trip here! Anyone thinking about booking should definitely do it! Thank you to Richard for having this awesome place for us to stay!!

  • A MUST SEE! This place is so much more amazing than the pictures and description even show. We only stayed for one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. You won’t want to leave! Beautiful views of the city, amazing amenities (especially considering you’re in a treehouse), and wonderful host who gave great local tips. If we’re ever back in Cork, we would love to stay here again! Highly recommend, it’s worth every penny!

  • Got a night stay here for my brother and fiance as an engagement present. They absolutely loved it. It was cozy, tranquil, gorgeous view. Proper tree house experience! Perfect place to go stay, especially with the countries current situation, if you want get away and to maintain social distancing!! Breakfast was delivered in a basket, pulled up to the treehouse, beautiful touch!

  • I have been staying at Gerry and Maureen's apartment, as I had to move from my own house, due to being a frontline worker during the coronavirus pandemic. I cannot say enough good things about Gerry and Maureen's place. It is spotless, with lots of lovely thoughtful touches. Gerry and Maureen are incredibly generous and accommodating hosts, who have gone out of their way to make me welcome. I cannot recommend their apartment enough, ideally situated for a visit to Cork.

The views are stunning and it's just the most amazing setting you could wish for. https://wanderingirishcailin.com/2018/04/28/the-ultimate-weekend-getaway-in-kinsale/ Kinsale quayside Kinsale hosts an annual jazz festival, which takes place during the last weekend of October. Pubs and hotels in the town host concerts by jazz and blues groups throughout the weekend, including on the last Monday of October (which is a bank holiday in Ireland).[34][35] The monumental steel, originally unpainted, sculpture The Great Wall of Kinsale, by Eilis O'Connell and installed in 1988 to celebrate Kinsale's achievements in the Tidy Towns competition, stands by Pier Road and Town Park.[36] Bastion, a restaurant on Market/Main streets, received a Michelin Star in 2020.[4] Chef Keith Floyd was previously a resident of Kinsale.[37] Kinsale is a holiday destination for both Irish and overseas tourists.[2] Leisure activities include yachting, sea angling, and golf. The town also has several art galleries, and there is a large yachting marina close to the town centre. The town is known for its restaurants,[3] including the Michelin-starred Bastion restaurant,[4] and holds a number of annual gourmet food festivals.[5] Historical buildings in the town include St. Multose's Church (Church of Ireland) of 1190, St. John the Baptist (Catholic) of 1839, the Market House of c. 1600, and the so-called French Prison (or Desmond Castle, associated with the Earls of Desmond) of c. 1500. Charles Fort, a partly restored star fort of 1677, is in nearby Summercove.[6] Kinsale, County Cork is all about scenery, stories and surprises. let's start with the surprises, Kinsale is hopping like no place else in Ireland in the cool of an Irish spring. The town is busy with locals and tourists alike, with many French, recently arrived overnight from Roscoff giving a well dressed look, to an already well heeled and presented town. Steeped in stories, the defeat of the Irish in the Battle of Kinsale 1601 changed the course of Irish history forever with the Flight of the Earls (the old order of Irish chieftains) and the arrival of the British planters. But, long before even that event, it was an important trading port on the route to the new world. Landmark taverns and the Dutch style courthouse, where the inquest into the sinking of the Luistania in 1915 was held as well as medieval Desmond Castle still survive as do most of the other character houses in and around the narrow maze of streets that thankfully have not been demolished in the name of progress or greed.... Kinsale thrives on its waterfront location, the galleons which once sailed right up town have been replaced with leisure craft for both sailing and fishing. The Kinsale regatta is one of the longest running in Ireland and as popular as ever. Thirty years ago, Kinsale pioneered the Slow Food Movement with local artisan food producers getting together with chefs to produce the most wonderful food. In fact there seems to be more bars, restaurants and cafes per square mile here than in Dublin and as I say its busy, busy, busy. But the people are warm and friendly and for the most characters like Martin Shanahan who’s mad about fish and is leading a nationwide campaign to get us all back cooking and eating it. You will spoiled for choice restaurant wise and there is certainly somewhere to suit all tastes and pockets. A great weekend destination or starting point on a scenic road trip around West Cork.... 10 Other Things To Do and See in and around Kinsale..... 1 First up Dermot Ryan’s walking tour of Kinsale is a must, tailor made, instantly, to suit the interests and nationalities of the various individuals who show up on the day. Warm, witty and informative, it’s the best €5 you will spend in Kinsale, tour departs daily at 10.30 from the Tourist Office on the quay and takes about an hour. 2 In these days of online everything is there anything better when on holidays than browsing a real bookshop rather than a virtual one and having a book talk to you or fall into your hands as well as a chat with the owner of the Kinsale Book Shop who’ll advise you on the latest arrivals re Irish interest or just a downright, good old-fashioned read, as well as the state of the industry! 3 Followed by coffee and the best lemon meringue pie in Ireland at the Lemon Leaf or a real hot chocolate in Jo’s. I must say I like this kind of niche marketing, it certainly adds to the relaxation element of a pleasant saturday morning shop when my stomach nods in agreement without even having to bother my mind. 4 The Boathouse Gallery with an electic selection of sea inspired images, I particularly liked but couldn’t afford, as usual, the Dee Pieters landscapes of West Cork with their mirror like water elements and bottomless lakes. With a warm Cork welcome from the owner, who knows well you are only browsing and unlikely to buy, well not this time perhaps, but maybe next time? 5 And then there are the stalwarts like Jim Edwards, the Blue Haven and the Spaniard out the road, that have been there forever. There’s a great line up of music most nights throughout the summer, good food and perfect pints all day and plenty of atmosphere all with walking distance of each other. 6 And no shortage of restaurants obviously in the Gourmet Capital of Ireland, cheap and cheerful Crackpots and Brunos to more expensive Finns Table and Fishy Fishy with the Black Pig doing tapas but my absolute favourite is up next? 7 Bulman Pub, Summercove, never was a place more aptly named, location? tick! sunset, if you are lucky? tick! atmosphere? most definitely! great pints, cold beer or glass of wine? for sure! And the best oysters, lobster and seafood you will eat anywhere in Ireland. 8 Charles Fort, after the defeat of the Irish in 1601 the English built this French style star shaped fort at the mouth of the harbour and installed a garrison of over 1000 troops which remained in Kinsale for over 400 years until we got our independence in1922. You can visit by car or on foot, a nice walk out via Scilly, take a Harbour Cruise or Hire a Boat during the summer. 9 Old Head, Kinsale, known as the 'Edge of the World’ at the time, it still looks like that, a rugged peninsula, jutting out 3 miles out into the Atlantic with its famous lighthouse and Celtic marriage stone. It now belongs to private consortium who have developed a world class links and exclusive golf club which is on every golfers bucket list of courses to play before they die
  • This property is simply spectacular. The views are stunning and it’s a fabulous getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back!

  • We were here to celebrate a 30th and 40th. Both people ended up having the best weekend ever. I wouldn't do any justice describing the house, it really just is breathtaking. The host was more than helpful in answering all my queries.

    Fil2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing house with unbelievable views. It’s quiet and private and we had a wonderful time here.

    Deborah2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house with beautiful views. Everything is super modern, and there are lots of spaces for groups to hang out, but also enough rooms to get some privacy when desired. Rooms are very comfortable and clean, making the entire house cozy. Make sure you catch the sunset on the back porch with a nice cup of tea! Kinsale is a great town to spend the weekend away. Lots of great food. Highly recommend The Supper Club. Also full of shops and off licenses to get anything you need. Communication was very easy, which made things fluid. Only complaint was the lack of basic items in the house, such as basic cooking supplies, additional towels for going to the beach, toilet paper and kitchen paper etc. You need to get these items for a comfortable stay yourself.

    Brian2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular location and responsive host. Would recommend.

    Fergal2019-12-28T00:00:00Z

  • Perfect retreat South of Cork. Ann was kind enough to pick me up from Belgooly, and her son dropped me off at the bus stop on the day I left. The views from the cabin are spectacular and the cabin is cosy. Definitely a great stay for a couple or a single traveler. The dog, Sandy, coming to hang out was a perk :)

    Bri2020-01-23T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning location where you can sit on the deck looking out to sea. Cabin itself is basic but clean and comfortable. Ann and her family are warm and welcoming and excellent hosts. Looking forward to our next stay at the Cabin!

    Caroline2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Can’t beat the view from the cabin or cozying up by the fire to read after a day of exploring the area. Ann was a great host and super friendly, and we were also pleased that her sweet dog Sandy gave us a visit one night. Like others have mentioned, Ann gives great directions to the house but it is on a narrow and windy road - best to find it the first time during the day!

    Jessie2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location, lovely and cosy with the stove lit. Ann was very welcoming and gave us eggs, bread and milk for breakfast. Looking forward to visiting during the summer months when the evenings are longer

    Jacinta2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding location with views that are better than seen on-line. Basic as Ann describes it but it’s so comfortable. First time in a long time we have gone without a TV but it was so worth it, hubby and I actually chatted for hours listening to music, haven’t done much of that and it was lively until we disagreed on what was going to be played next lololol

    Eleanor2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a gem! We spent a couple of nights there. Ann greeted us , and provided local tips for the area. Ann’s dog , Sandy is so sweet...she would greet us in the morning on our way out. We ventured into Kinsale both nights and ate at the Bluehaven. Food was great, service was ok! Our second day was spent at the cliffs of moher, coming back to the cabin was just what we needed. In closing, the cabin is perfect for spending time with your special someone and getting away from the daily routine. Ann provided a memorable experience of Ireland! Hope to be able to come back one day!!!

    Maureen2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is a delightful get-way dream. Picturesque views of the ocean, beach and rolling pastures. A short drive to wonderful Kinsale. We had a memorable stay with Ann.

    Mark2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures of Ann's Cabin do not do it justice, the cabin is amazing! Gorgeous view and everything you need in a cosy cabin, perfect location, 10 mins from Kinsale - Ann is a great host and we loved Sandy the dog!

This cozy cottage is a the perfect location to help you to get away from it all. A unique piece of history in a beautiful and relaxed seaside village; the cottage was constructed in the sixteen hundreds and has a timeless homely feel. Its only a 5 minute walk from Myrtleville beach:) The antique stove (and central heating) provides gorgeous heat and fuel is provided for guests no matter what the season. Stunning coastal walks are easily reached and bound to impress no matter what the weather.
This charming gardeners cottage pre-dates Myrtleville House (which adjoins the cottage) and was built behind the sheltering walls of a 2 acre vegetable garden. Once said to be used as a small monastery, it is a truly unique building in a gorgeous setting. As soon as the fire is lighting and the kettle is on; the worries of the modern world should start to ease away. Over the last couple of years I have been renovating and improving every room in an effort to improve comfort while maintaining the old world charm. The kitchen is the heart of the home, with a cosy antique wood burning stove (fuel provided). It is the kind of room that's perfect for tea drinking and long chats. The low light of candles (many provided) is the best choice if you really want a trip back in time. We have two large double rooms upstairs and a single room downstairs. The layout of the cottage is slightly unorthodox but it was constructed almost 400 years ago so that can be forgiven. Out in the garden, there are hammocks and a geodesic dome which provide an excellent spot for a relaxation. Parking is provided of course, there is lots of space and it is very safe.
Myrtleville is a beach town within in a small river valley. Baile an Cuainin is its original Irish name and it means town of the little cove. Myrtleville beach is a popular destination for day visitors from the city. Going east or west along the rocks from the beach can help you to discover secluded swimming holes and tidal pools if you're interested in a little exploration. One thing that is often said about this place is that once here people rarely want to leave. Its just so easy to pass the day relaxing its hard to consider other options. The local foodstore, O Connells is great for stocking almost all the groceries that you may need. It is a 5 minute walk from our door. I always encourage visitors to take to the sea-shore, no matter what time of year it may be. There are plenty of beaches and natural swimming holes and if you want peace seclusion then you will find it there. The Myrtleville Swimmers are a local sea swimming group who swim all year round in the atlantic. There is nothing quite like the Atlantic to wake you up in the morning! If any guests are interested in taking a plunge I can give you all of the information on swim times etc. Foraging for wild food is very easy here with blackberries, mussels, cockles and sea-spinach in abundance at the right time of year. Just ask me where to go and what to look for and take it from there. For night-time entertainment you wont have to go far. There's always great live music happening locally from traditional folk sessions to some hefty blues rock in The Lodge. This little local is half way to the beach and worth a stop if you're thirsty:) A short walk from the cottage (and the Lodge if you fancy a short pub crawl!), just above the cliffs and the crashing Atlantic sits Bunnyconnellan our local restaurant where you can sit and enjoy stunning sea views. The last anchorage of the Titanic can be seen from here. Just a 5 minute drive (or a lovely seaside walk) from Myrtleville is the fishing village of Crosshaven. Home to the oldest yacht club in the world, The Royal Cork Yacht Club, and the spectacular Fort Camden where you can get a tour of the battlements and tunnels that helped to keep the harbour safe during war times. There is couple of charming little cafes where it is very easy to while away some time over a coffee, lunch or breakfast. You might be lucky enough to get here in time for one of our local festivals, like the crazy Red Head Convention, the Traditional Sail weekend or the annual Folk Festival. Kinsale is also close by, 20 minutes drive and such a beautiful town with lots to do there too. Fountainstown beach is just 15 minutes by foot (2 minutes by car) and is perfect for low-tide walks. There are many secluded swimming holes between here and there. Kids and adults alike can partake in the Funkytown Adventure Centre, where it is possible to do kayak rental and guided tours of the coastline, wake-boarding, tubing and lots more. Anyone who gets properly ensconced in the area will be charmed by the people here, its a small town with a good community of super friendly people....especially in the pubs:)
  • Mark was a fantastic host, very accommodating, couldn't of asked for more 11/10

  • We had a lovely stay at Mark's cottage - one of the most quaint and unique places I've stayed in! Really cosy with lots of nice touches, perfect for getting away from it all. Mark was really friendly and helpful. The place is close to the beautiful Myrtleville beach and the pub. Would recommend!

  • This is a very special place with lovely personal touches, and very cosy, even in mid-Winter. Mark left us some honey and other breakfast essentials and even thought of turning on the electric blanket for us! He gave us some local tips and was quickly available for anything we needed. Would highly recommend.

  • We would URGE you to make this home a stop on your list. Go out of your way, it’s worth it! Our stay was above and beyond expectation.

  • The cottage is a wonderland of farm and coastal life, the perfect place to rest and recharge in winter and I imagine a terrific base to visit the coastline of Cork in the summer. The rooms are decorated with comforting eccentricities and the stove tenderly heats the kitchen and living room, keeping you cosy at all times. Mark is a kind and relaxed host, making sure you have everything you need and always on hand in any eventuality.

Very central location. Gorgeous big bedroom with patio doors to balcony. Adjoining private bathroom with power shower & antique bath. If you ever feel disappointed with hotel rooms you wont be with this - a unique space with an outdoor element
Guests have the whole first floor.... huge bedroom with balcony and Georgian style bathroom. Centrally located five minutes walk from bus and train station and ten minute walk from the city centre. The house is on Summerhill which is an old residential park of Cork ...
Summerhill is an attractive city neighbourhood, great pub, Henchys just up the road in St. Lukes which is like a little village with artisan grocery, Café, post office, butchers, wine bar and Chinese restaurant........and many restaurants/cafes/pubs just down the road in McCurtain Street and beyond! Urban chic mixed with a leafy old world ambience!!
  • Great place to stay, a easy walk into downtown cork. Large space with a nice bathroom. Doors lock from the inside only. Lovely host and time here!

    Megan 2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline’s place is in the quiet area of Summerhill, which is a quick ten minute walk to city centre, but far enough away to not be noisy and touristy. Upon my agreed-upon early arrival Pauline let me leave my bags even though the room wasn’t ready so I could go about my day bag-free. The room itself was beautifully decorated and incredibly comfortable. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom, but they’re both hidden away in their own private alcove on the second floor. The space felt very private and I didn’t see anyone after I first checked in with Pauline. Another huge plus was the lovely hot water in the shower, as some AirBnBs I’ve stayed at in older houses have been hit or miss with the hot water. The bed was so comfy I didn’t want to get up in the morning, and the first night Pauline’s dear little cat came and visited me, which was such a treat!! Two things to note: there is a eye and hook latch on the inside of the alcove, so you can lock that when you’re inside and the bedroom door had a sliding latch from the inside. I had no problems with this arrangement, but if you don’t like the idea of not being able to lock your space up when you leave then you’ll want to consider if this is the right place for you. Also, don’t be stupid like me and go the long-way around from the train station. When you exit the train station you’ll see a massive staircase and a bridge: that is your express route to Pauline’s, which I discovered later. I had a thoroughly enjoyable time and will definitely stay with Pauline again the next time I’m in Cork.

  • Cool space and a great location!

    Kevin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great, stylish place with a great location in Cork. Very large bedroom with a bathroom next door, all on a floor to your own. We would highly recommend this place to others!

    Kevin2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline is a fantastic host and the photos don’t do this cute studio flat justice. The space is huge and stylishly decorate. The bath is amazing - you can soak after a busy day exploring!! The room and bathroom and tidy and clean with all the best touches (lovely products and tea to sip while watching the fire). The city is just down the hill ready for you to explore and enjoy. I cannot recommend this place highly enough - superb. I will stay here again when I visit cork.

    Shani2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful Victorian bedroom, high ceilings and a pretty balcony to sit out on in fine weather, fabulous bathroom too!

    Jim2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location near train station and great value for a lovely clean bedroom.

    Derek2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Pauline's place was lovely and beautiful. A very quick walk from Kent station. The rich old character of the house was the perfect fit for our stay in Cork. The house is an old Georgian, the room has a working fireplace, a little outdoor patio space and large windows facing the street. Comfy bed, nice pillows, great sheets. Very very quiet room, less some cars going by. The bathroom is large and the clawfoot tub is beautiful, wish I had time to use it! She let us drop our bags when we arrived to town, even though the room wasn't ready yet (we were early) that was very thoughtful. Thank you Pauline, it was a wonderful stay.

  • I'm really glad to have chosen Elenas accommodation. She and her family immediately made me feel welcome and they helped me a lot adapting to the country by giving me many usefull tips. I can really recommend them even for longer stays for which the own bathroom is really nice. The room is small but really comfortable with everything you need and Carrigaline is a rather quiet but charismatic city with beautiful landscapes and views.

  • Elena, Jose and family are a lovely family to visit. Their gentle dog and cat are also easy to be with. They were welcoming, gave me a key to the house so I could come and go, assisted me with directions when needed and were very helpful and welcoming. They made it easy to be part of the family if I wanted, or to be in my room as needed or leave. They also encouraged me to use the kitchen as desired and went to the extra work preparing the room by extra rinsing of linens to take away the smell of any scented product! I highly recommend planning your stay with these people. Cherry

  • Spent two nights in our home, very nice room with lots of snacks. She makes a great breakfast and let you pick the time you would like it. We were there during the coronavirus outbreak and my friends rooms were all canceled ours was not. We had to cut our trip short and leave straight from her house to Dublin which is about a 3 Hour Dr. we had to leave three in the morning and she was up making a packed lunch for us because the restaurants were all close. She is a great hostess.

  • I've never stayed in a 7 star hotel but know that going by what I'm told about them, they would still be a few stars short of Julie's Airbnb. Couldn't recommend Juliet's enough and know that not only was it fantastic value, the breakfast every morning was devine. A big thank you for introducing me to Cork charm and hospitality.

  • Juliet waited for me and constantly checking in to ensure I can find the location, as much detail as she could provide, but you will miss it if you follow Google. Lol. The room I've got was big and ensuite, clean and tidy, with a toiletries basket so if you miss anything, you still have a choice. He bed is comfortable and clean. It's quiet at night and I slept very well. Juliet prepared yummy Irish breakfast for me too. Nothing more that I can ask for! Lovely host and place!

College Road runs along the UCC. Shops, cafes, bank and pharmacy nearby. On the city bus route 205 . Just a 20 minute stroll to the city centre. The small single room is cosy and bright. The large bathroom is spotless . Also, you can relax in the back garden. I have a dog , Charlie, a very human friendly springer spaniel. He will be happy to welcome you. It is kept outside except when the weather is bad. It is a valuable security asset.

This is a unique, self contained, elevated POD set in a private garden, close to the water, overlooking Kinsale Harbour and town, in the jewel of Kinsale - Summercove. You can work (via our high speed broadband) while watching the boats go by, take long coastal walks, go for a swim in the ocean, dine in the local award winning pub/restaurant (The Bulman), explore the 16th century fort (Charles Fort), take a stroll into town, go for a kayak (or SUB), rent an electric bike & head out exploring
If you are staying in Kinsale for 1 night or more nights its the place to base yourself. You enter the property via the garden entrance at the side of the main house and walk up the outside stairs to access the POD. Parking is off site and communal. The property is A1+ rated so really cosy and the added advantage of a constant supply of fresh sea air. The property has a large bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette with kettle, toaster and microwave. We supply tea, coffee, milk, sugar, cereal and run an "honour bar" with beer, wine, bottled water, sodas and various snacks. The electric bikes and kayaks are on an external rental, and can be in place for your arrival once ordered in advance.
Summercove is the most fantastic place to visit, it has the best pub in Kinsale, the Bulman, where you can have an amazing lunch or dinner and watch the sun set over Kinsale after a day working, exploring or just relaxing.
  • Daragh is a fantastic host. Everything in the listing was accurate, check in was easy, Daragh was responsive and accommodating throughout. The pod has everything you would need - lovely little kitchenette, amazing shower and great size bedroom. Incredible walks nearby. Daragh and his family were wonderful hosts - super friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back to this little haven by the sea :)

  • Daragh's Pod is awesome. It's situated on a family property with a beautiful sea view. It was a bit chilly on our night there but our pod stayed nice and cozy. The bed was very comfortable and the unit was spotless. Daragh met us upon arrival and departure and was very welcoming and helpful. He even offered to drive us into town so we could have some drinks at the pub and not have to worry about driving home. Unfortunately, we didn't get to try the neighborhood pub down the road because it had stopped serving food but the area is very quaint and a quick drive to Kinsale. The breakfast provided was a loaf of bread with butter and jellies and milk and cereal. It was perfect and just what we needed. We are already dreaming of coming back during the summer for a couple of weeks.

    Diane2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The POD is a cosy and stylish spot, perched on an elevated part of Kinsale! The views from the POD are absolutely beautiful. • 10/10. The home is very nice with everything you could possibly need, and is conveniently located for exploring the Kinsale area! Conor and Betty are also wonderful: very kind and extremely accommodating. If you’re in this area, I highly recommend checking out their place!

    Camden2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • Conor's place was perfect for my short stay in Kinsale. Close to Charles Fort and the nearby village of Sicilly. Lovely walks in the area. Kinsale town not to far away. Room was a nice single room with separate bathroom. Spotless, quiet and lovely breakfast included.

    Cathy2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place to stay for 1 person. Everything is very clean, Conor is a warm person and makes sure everything's alright for you. I'll go back there if possible when I come back.

    Stéphanie2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Conor's place is homey, warm and spacious. Great location and great tips available

    Rian2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Conor's place is great, from my room I could see his beautiful garden. The place was very clean, the breakfast was delicious and they were always very helpful suggesting activities or places to see during my trip. They are aware that it can be tricky to find the address using GPS so they provide very accurate indications prior to my arrival.

  • A small and simple apartment that's absolutely ideal for exploring Cork. I was there for a conference at UCC, and this was an excellent location for both the Uni and the town. Check in and out couldn't have been easier. It's right on the river front and plenty of great places to eat and drink are close by, but the apartment is quiet. If I come to Cork again I'll be booking in with Mairead!

Located on the N25 (main route between Cork and Rosslare) just outside the busy market town of Midleton, we are a detached bungaloe with ample parking. The house is surrounded by green and lush farmland and close to a number of state managed forests which are excellent for walking and getting close to nature. The Studio faces south and is bright, warm and cosy.
We aim for 5* standards and offer guests standards of comfort and hygiene that they would expect in an hotel.
We are ideally located close to all amenities but at the same time in the country. Guests enjoy the benefit of both. There is no shortage of free or paid activities on our doorstep including forest walks, beaches, heritage sites, activities for adults and children, and many more.

Bright ,modern and compact studio apartment in a lovely riverside location in the heart of the city centre.
Just renovated, this is a ground floor studio apartment - everything is brand new
The apartment is situated in a lovely part of the city, beside the river lee, and next to the city centre. You can stroll to the city centre, shandon bells, sundays well or the mardyke - all only minutes away
  • I would recommend this apartment if you stay in Cork. If I get back to Cork, I would definitely get back to this apartment: 1) The apartment is in a great location, you can walk anywhere in Cork within 15 minutes. 2) Mairead responded very quick any time we had any issue with the apartment. 3) We had anything we need to stay comfortably in the apartment.

  • I found this efficiency apartment to be small as described but very functional and comfortable. I have a bad back and need a firm bed and this one was perfect. I also am on a restricted diet so being able to prepare simple meals was an immense help. The location is walking distance to so many tourist attractions as well as restaurants, shopping and the cinema. Perfect.

My little cozy cottage in the mature suburban area of Ballinlough. Lovely updated with nice small touches with a little back garden. A easy 35 minute walk to Cork City or 15 minutes on bus 215. A few small public park/grounds that nice for a evening stroll along with Blackrock Castle 25 minutes walk away. Mahon Point close via bus 215. 10 minute walk to Páirc Uí Chaoimh. A barber shop is two doors to the right of my front door of the cottage.
I do live in the property also so sharing bathroom, kitchen & living room shared with myself. Bus 215 takes 15 mins to get into Cork City, when it is not busy & 35 mins walk for me walk to city. Please see pictures of the bus stops to & from Cork City. Car parking: I do not have a covered garage but there is free on street car parking if guest is driving to my cottage. I do have Wifi but Fair usage applies. I will advise of the Wifi information on arrival in the house hold manual. There is hot water for washing dishes & taking a shower. Please remember that the shower is both the guest & host so please try to remember that both of us use the shower. Breakfast provided is cereal (weetabix/cornflakes/porridge) with tea or coffee. It is self service breakfast.
Mature area in the suburbs with many residents who are living in the area for 30 yrs plus. JJ O'Driscoll is my local corner shop with The Orchard Bar & The Sliver Key (servers food till 9pm) local pubs. Douglas Village Shopping Center & Douglas Court are about 20 mins walk away.
  • I had a fantastic stay at Ballinlough Cottage, the property is very well maintained and sparkling. Una is a lovely host who is so nice and very helpful. The location is brillant, very near town and all amenities. Una makes the best coffee ! I would wholeheartedly recommend Ballinlough Cottage, it was excellent.

  • Una was a lovely host. It was my first time booking through Airbnb and I couldn't have better experience! Information how to get to the house was provided, all was clear and easy to find. Very warm welcome on arrival, Una is very friendly. She has great knowledge of Cork/Ireland and places to visit. There is a big file in the room with many information about Cork, living in Ireland, places to see, leaflets about what to do etc. But I could always ask her for any information, she was always happy to help. I stayed 2 weeks and we had many nice chats over a cup of tea. The room and house is very clean and I would highly recommend her place to any visitors. Thank you Una.

    Katerina2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Una is an excellent host, always willing to make your stay even better. The house is conveniently located just 30 mins walk to city center or Mahon point. 215 bus stops next to her place and takes few mins to Mahon or 10-15 to city center. The room is spacious and warm. The house is bright and cosy. Everything is sparkling clean. The rear patio is big and you can see an sports ground. I will definitely stay at Una´s place next time.

Small single room with comfy bed and quiet space 15 minutes from Kinsale town centre. Room has cupboard space, an arm chair and lamps, a table with chair and drawers. A kettle for tea and coffee is provided in room and fruit or cereal can be provided for breakfast. Bathroom next to bedroom with toilet and good electric shower. Towels, soap, hair shampoo-conditioner provided. Parking right outside the front door
The house is a townhouse but there is no noise from neighbours. Room is spacious and bright.
The housing estate is young so there are lots of young families here. I love the fun and energy the young children bring to the neighbourhood but they are quiet and don't play around the house. There is a green and they all play there. Guests do need to drive slowly in and out of the estate.

  • Steven and Roisin really made us feel welcome in their exquisitely designed space. My wife and I loved the atheistic and we were surprised to see fruits and snacks for us as we arrived. They were in frequent contact with us to arrange check-in and that made it really easy when our plans were not set in stone. We cannot wait to be back in Ireland and to stay again in this amazing location.

  • Perfect spot to start my trip in Ireland, and conveniently located, both in distance to downtown Cork, access to a supermarket, and neighbouring areas like Kinsale. Comfy and quiet place with a modern styling... I slept in both days of my stay. The breakfast amenities went above and beyond - both in quality and variety - so much so I felt a little guilty eating some of it. Pantry was well-stocked as well if you wanted to stay in and cook. Communication was easy. Highly recommended stay!

  • Chris was an incredible host! We would absolutely recommend this adorable house to anyone & would definitely stay again.

    Katie2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Chris’s place was great! It was just about as we expected in terms of amenities. It did take us a bit of time to find it but this was because I couldn’t figure out the best way to locate it on our gps from the airport. Once we found it, it was super easy. Chris was so hospitable. Wonderful host and gave such great tips on places to visit and restaurants to go to eat. He also took my dad out to golf which was an incredible gesture. THANK YOU! We would stay here again if we are back in the area.

    Courtney2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Chris is a lovely host and the place is beautiful. We went down for two nights to visit the Fota Wildlife Park and Chris's place was the perfect place to stay. The house had everything we needed and had a comfy atmosphere. The location is great as well, just a five minute walk from the train station, it was easy to get there from Cork City, it was just a stop away from Fota, and we managed to visit Cobh as well.

Private own door apartment. in a family home. This is a quiet area near all amenities. Wine Tavern. Tapas bar. Pubs coffee shop Event centre. Deli Butcher Hotel Bus to town every 15mins A touch of Bohemian.
Nice roomy apartment in a quiet family home. All facilities. Entire place is private. Your own front door entrance. Ground floor of the house. Safe on street disc parking outside the door. 1euro per our week days 9am to 6pm. Bus is every 15mins to and from city centre. City centre is 10mins walk down hill.
The neighbourhood has a touch of Bohemian spirit. Artists and professionals reside in this upmarket area.
  • Kate and Dermot’s flat couldn’t have been more perfect for my needs. Their son Sean checked me and everyone involved was very friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent, quick 15-20 min walk into the city centre and St Luke’s is great in its own right (it is at the top of a hill so I might recommend a taxi if you have lots of luggage, but I found it very walkable and view is well worth it). I found the place very clean and it had all the amenities I could ask for including a washer and dryer. It’s an older place with some quirks but between the location and price I highly recommend to any low maintenance travelers who want their own space.

  • The space is really private and close to the city centre. It is very cozy and silent, and it had everything that we needed. The host is also very friendly and helpful. You will have a lovely time staying there.

Covid 19 - The Lux Bus is due to reopen on 8th June. Since our closure in early March we have been inundated with enquiries from essential workers who need accommodation in the Cork area or people who have appointments close by etc. Upto now we have not accepted any bookings. For most, you are advised to stay at home till July 20th. Gov.ie has a full list of phased guild lines which we must all follow. From all of us here at The Lux Bus we wish you all happiness and good health x
Nestled in the beautiful town of Cobh with countryside views is the unique and luxury double decker bus. Within close proximity to the heritage town and minutes walk to public transport this is a hidden gem which one must experience. is the perfect base location when visiting the Munster area and its extensive attractions. The bus is a stand alone accommodation so you will have sole use of the bus and its private outdoor space during your time with us. It is always cleaned and disinfected to a high standard including light switches, door handles, switches etc. This vintage London bus has been converted to an extremely high standard with attention to detail and all mod cons one would expect from a holiday stay. Our bus has everything you need for your stay but please feel free to ask if you have any special requests we may be able to help you with. As you can expect from a bus, there is a stairs on board and the ceilings upstairs are 5ft 9inch which lower than normal. To keep the bus as original as possible we did not change the height of the ceiling upstairs so this is something everyone should take note of. The shower is based upstairs so will be lower than normal. Each room has a TV and storage and there is Wifi through out, but if you want some screen free time there is also a range of books and board games. We have a cosy stove on board as well as electric panel heating, but should the weather be nicer, there is a lovely outdoor area complete with table and chairs for your private use. The Snug area comes complete with a solid fuel stove and BBQ.
The Lux Bus is situated a 4minute drive from Cobh town. With beautiful peaceful countryside views it is upto you whether you relax in style or explore the many attractions of the area. There is a lovely private outdoor area with table and chairs for your own personal use. There is a shop, pub and laundry facilities within a 7minute walk along a country road. This is also where the Cobh Connect bus stop is situated which takes you to Cork City in 20mins. Just to note this road does not have a footpath so caution should always be taken and we provide high viability jackets for your use.
  • The bus was an awesome stay! From the basics (bread, milk etc) and our little care packs, you can tell that Laura takes great pride in making sure her guests are comfortable. We really appreciated these thoughtful gestures & would highly recommend the bus for a stay!

    Natalie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Lux Bus is so spacious with everything you need- hairdryer, kettle, tea, coffee, towels, bed linen, etc. There are lots of board games for a night in too. Staying in the Lux Bus is an experience in itself. Really cool place to stay! Super close to Cobh where there’s loads to do and see. It helps if you bring a car but there are taxis available.

    Sophie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great little stay for near cork. Though if your taller than 5’4” you’ll be too tall and will have to duck when you go upstairs. But for shorter people it’s perfect and so fun to stay inside a bus that’s been redone inside.

    Debbie2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s place was incredible and comfortable! Highly recommend!

    Alyssa2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely place to stay. Highly recommend. Very comfortable and spacious for group of 7. Great facilities on board. Very clean. Laura was a lovely host who gave us a great welcome. Will look forward to staying again in the future.

    Olivia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The bus is beautiful, extremely clean, and in good taste. We had milk, cereals, coffee, teas .. Very welcoming, and we are only sorry to have had such a short stay.

    Sandra2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the Lux Bus! We were a group of 5 travelers, and it accommodates our party easily. The bus was well appointed and very clean. The weather was quite chilly and blustery, but we all stayed nice and warm. Communicating with Laura was quick and easy; she was a great host, and even took time to drive us into Cobh in the evening so that we could experience trad night at one of the local pubs. Overall, great experience-if we find ourselves in Cobh again, we’d happily book the bus.

The ambience of this home warm and cosy, with the central focus on the beautiful double sided stove in an open plan living space. Two bedrooms library and bathroom are located at the rear of the house. This house has been recently refurbished. From the patio at the rear garden, a glorious panoramic view of the famous Cork harbour, looking directly out towards Roches Point (from which the Titanic had its final departure).
  • Wonderful hospitality!

  • Tiernan was very kind! We talked a bit and we played a really interesting game that he showed us. I highly recommend to book his Airbnb.

    Yasmin2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Tiernan was very delightful and flexible and oh so sweet! He gave us local tip a and even got in his car to lead us to the town. Once we got in we dropped our bags and went to a local pub called The Anchor and received the BEST EXPERIENCE where we met locals and had some beers and laughs. I highly recommend both the stay and the bar which are within a 5 minute walk and the walk is of the beautiful view of the port. All in all: BEST TIME EVER.

    Kayla2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The house was perfect and Tiernan is super friendly and funny! It was a pleasure to stay in his house!
