“A recently renovated urban parc, this little corner of bucolic paradise feels like it was transported from Europe. A large, long fountain sits in front of a church built in the Italian gothic style (I swear I've seen a very similar church in Firenze). Kitty corner to the parc on Laurier is the old city hall (which looks like a mini-Chateau) for the district (before it was Mile End and part of Montreal), which is now a fire station. Great place to hang out with a coffee or a pastry from Serafin (just across the street), a Portuguese bakery with super cheap eats. ”

“The parc is not all that great but all around it is full of fine food stores, incl. bakeries, fruit and vegetable stores, butcheries, etc. Perfect for all your cooking needs, plus it is a nice walk.”

“Have young kids and there's a heat wave? Do like local residents do and take them to this shady park with waterworks sprays to cool off. The city keeps this park open and the water flowing into the late evenings during heat waves. We've already been here with our toddlers at 11 pm and a lot of other families were here too!”
