  • Thank you Pamela for a lovely stay at your B&B in a beautiful little village. Loved the rooms and you made us feel very welcome. The walks nearby were lovely and I have some beautiful photos to show my family at home. You made us welcome from the start and had great recommendations for where to eat. Looking forward to staying again on a future trip to the UK.

  • Pam's house is located to nice place (close to Morton-in-the-marsh and other beautiful villages.) Pam and his partner Neil are so kind and we can feel really comfortable. Breakfast was awesome! we were very satisfied. The room was also wonderful and lovely. we stayed only one night, but wanted to stay more!! Pam recommend some pubs for dinner and we went to "The Red Lion Inn" , it was really nice place. Everything is perfect.

  • A beautiful farm house with outbuildings converted into short stay accommodation. Beds are very comfortable and the space is beautifully decorated. There are no cooking facilities which I didn't realise from the description but Pamela cooked us a lovely breakfast and booked us into a local pub that did lovely food and was very child friendly.

    Susan2016-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay in Pam's cottage in the Cotswold. The area is simply beautiful anywhere you look. Pam was away on holiday when we arrived but her daughter Daisy was there to check us in and her friend Andrea filled in for breakfast. She was flexible and accommodating making sure we had plenty to eat whether we chose to have a full English breakfast or continental. The 5 of us (2 couples and baby) slept comfortably but the floors were a bit creaky so we had to be careful with baby. the cottage is about five minutes from Moreton in Marsh so very convenient for getting around. our favorite towns were Broadway - loved the food at the Broadway hotel bar - and Bourton on the water (little Venice of Cotswold), chipping Campden and stow on the wold were great too.

  • Pamela house is really lovely and nice. Its also very clean. She also prepare croissant milk orange juice and even eggs. Very comfortable

  • Pamela is firstly a wonderful host. Secondly, this is an excellent B&B. the location is right in the middle of the Cotswolds, the accommodation is excellent and the host is perfect. You could not ask for a better place. The only thing to be aware of is that it is a B and B, so no kitchen or dining area, but it is very large and the outside table is an exceptional extra. Highly recommended.

  • This place is fantastic - well equipped for a property of its size. The garden is a sociable space and the situation is idyllic. Our hosts were very informative about the area around the place, and it is well worth checking out the Cotswold Falconry Centre. Perfect for shops and restaurants nearby to make a family holiday a little bit more special.

  • This is a great house, perfect for our family gathering. It's in a beautiful location with plenty to do, lots of local services and a wide range of opportunities for eating out within a short walk. The house is really well equipped, particularly the kitchen. Everyone can eat and sit together, and the conservatory is lovely to escape to. Joanna is a great host, with lots of tips about what to do, where to eat and so on, and the communication and advice kept coming throughout our stay. I hope we can go back again some day soon.

Located at the head of the beautiful Evenlode Valley, Moreton in Marsh is a thriving market town with excellent public transport links including a direct link to London by rail, the town dates back 1000 years to the Saxon era. The broad High Street is lined with elegant 17th and 18th Century buildings, among them the White Hart Royal, a former manor house in which King Charles I sheltered during the Civil War and the rare Curfew Tower with its original clock and bell. In the centre is the Redesdale Hall dating from 1887 this is the town’s main public hall which regularly holds antiques and craft fairs. Moreton’s High Street is lined with elegant Cotswolds stone buildings which house many specialist shops, antique emporiums, tea rooms and delis. Nearby attractions include Batsford Arboretum, Cotswold Falconry, Bourton House Garden & Sezincote Gardens, which for those visitors that enjoy walking, can be reached by local footpaths including the Moreton Eight trail. Moreton in Marsh has a variety of accommodation, whether you want a small self-catering cottage or a luxury hotel, or perhaps something in between. Every Tuesday Moreton-in-Marsh hosts the largest open-air street market in the Cotswolds and is popular at any time of the year. The High street offers many art & antique galleries as well as a wonderful selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants. The annual Moreton Show is a major one-day agricultural show held on the first Saturday in September which celebrates past and present farming life. Just on the outskirts of Moreton in Marsh is the Four Shire Stone marking the old meeting point of four counties: Gloucestershire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire. It is believed this stone was an inspiration for Tolkien's Three-Farthing Stone, in Lord of the Rings, Tolkien regularly visited the town stopping for refreshments at The Bell Inn, which inspired The Prancing Pony, the pub at Bree in Lord of the Rings. As well as the railway station, Moreton-in-Marsh is well connected to Cheltenham and other towns and villages in the Cotswolds via bus services. Itineraries from Moreton in Marsh The following is a suggested 3-day itinerary for a short break based in Morton in Marsh. It is designed so that each day a different part of the Cotswolds can be explored using public transport - a combination of rail and bus. DAY 1: Into the ancient forest of Wychwood Travel by train from Moreton to the small market town of Charlbury on the Cotswold Line. • A really beautiful cottage in a fabulous location. Couldn't recommend more highly! Thank you.

    Rhiannon2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at the Horseshoe Cottage. Everything was exactly as in the pictures and was very clean and well presented. Amazing location and we managed to find parking easily both nights when we came home, where parking seemed limited. All instructions for the cottage were easily accessible and all in one binder which we found very helpful. Another binder for take away food and tourist things to see and do throughout the Cotswolds was there for us as well. All of the bedrooms were quite large and we loved the ensuite for my grandparents who were staying with us. Martin was very easy to get ahold of and was quick to respond to us as well. The hot water heater did malfunction while we were there and Martin took care of it immediately and the situation was resolved in a way we were very happy with. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone we know travelling to the area and would not hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to the U.K. Thanks again!

  • We had a mix up with the booking of Horseshoe Cottage so did not end up staying here. Just wanted to say that Martin dealt with the problem fast and efficiently and a solution offered. We loved the trip and the Cotswolds.

    Anna2017-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Martin was a great host and responded within a few minutes to my various questions and requests before the stay. The house itself is really lovely and is exactly as pictured, in a lovely picturesque village about a 40 minute walk from Moreton in Marsh. We really enjoyed our stay and would really recommend to anyone else visiting Cotswolds.

  • Lisa and Nick were excellent hosts. They we were prompt with answering our queries and very welcoming on arrival. The Studio was even better than we anticipated, it is a lovely space. It is very stylish - great decor - and had everything that we required. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the high street (2mins). It is also a great location in terms of major cotswolds attractions i.e. near villages such as Blockley, Burton-On-The-Water etc. There are many great walks around the area and in surrounding villages, Lisa was very helpful in showing us these and providing some maps. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the cotswolds and in this lovely studio. We highly recommend it and would definitely stay here again.

    Simon2016-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fabulous stay for a cotswolds wedding. The place was lovely, exactly as described and more spacious than I expected! It's within easy walking distance of Moreton and was ideal for my stay.

  • The Loft was a fantastic place to stay. Lisa and Nick were very welcoming and gave great advice on local places to visit. We enjoyed every minute of our time there!

    Lily2017-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Coach House is a detached building with its own entrance into a brick-floored ground floor lobby, so there's no need to struggle with muddy boots at the doorway. The shower and WC are downstairs too. Upstairs is a large, airy, open plan bedroom/lounge/diner with vaulted, beamed ceiling, dining table, working pinball machine and a big, comfortable bed. The heating is more than enough to cope with cold, winter weather. The cooker is an electric two-ring hob and oven. The main street is only 160m away and has 6 pubs and plenty shops, cafés and restaurants. The area is great for walking (there are two free, downloadable walks on the Saturday Walkers Club website). Lisa was very welcoming and helpful and we had a great time.

    Mike2017-01-15T00:00:00Z

  • Great 2 night stay, Nic provided excellent directions and instructions. The cottage is a great location close to the train station and the village, as well as car parking space for our car. There were 4 of us staying comfortably in the cottage and we made breakfast both mornings - the kitchen is well stocked. Quiet location with easy walking distance and lots of surrounding sights. Great stay

  • This property is in a fantastic location with the town of Moreton In Marsh literally a stones throw away. It is beautifully done inside; everything feels new & the decor lovely. It is quite petite but perfect for what we needed. We were disappointed to find mould in one of the cutlery draws as the rest of the property was very clean. Hopefully a word with the cleaners can solve this issue! Thanks for a lovely stay.

  • A wonderful gem of a cottage , perfect central location for exploring the Cotswolds, in the middle of everything. Set in a quiet private mews but a very short stroll to the Main Street of Moreton-in-Marsh and the train station. In the midst of everything with the peacefulness of the country, no noise from the trains etc... The cottage itself is finished to such a high standard with 5 stars for cleanliness. It is very well equipped and has everything you need for your stay. It was wonderful to meet Nic today on leaving and was nice to say thank you in person for allowing us the privilege to stay there and we had such a lovely time. Thanks again, would 100% recommend

  • Beautiful barn conversion with a wonderful location. Central to local restaurants and pubs, with great access to famous little spots like Bourton-On-Water! Nic was really helpful and we loved our stay.

    Natalie2017-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nic's place is definitely the best option if you travel by public transport around Cotswold. It is one minute walking to train station and bus station, and the buses directly link to some very nice small villages; 5 mins walking to a very big supermarket. There are also some very nice walking route starting from Moreton-in-marsh which were great. The place itself was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and have enough space for 4 adults. Nic's information guide was outstanding and helpful, the bus timetable was appreciated. Highly recommend this place to others who don't have a car with them.

    DAN2017-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful barn in a fantastic location! My partner and I stayed at Dove Cottage for a couple of nights at the end of April. It was everything we were hoping for from our short break away. The cottage was immaculately clean and situated in a Fantastic location just off the High Street. There are a few pubs and good places to eat, friendly locals and some wonderful towns nearby to explore. We considered taking our bikes - we didn't this time but definitely would next time. All in all, I would highly recommend.

    Moreton-in-Marsh, England, United Kingdom

In the heart of a quintessential Cotswold town; 7 minute walk from Morton-in-Marsh train station & on the Paddington line direct from London. The property is a honey coloured character cottage with working fireplace & refurbished to modern standard
Dating back to the 1700s, this honey coloured, cosy-character cottage, sits quietly just off the High Street in the Cotswold market town of Moreton-in- Marsh. The property overlooks a church yard and has recently been stylishly restored, maintaining and uncovering original period features, such as beams and an original flagstone sitting room with a new traditional cast iron fireplace, whilst modernising other parts of the house. The quaint & cosy kitchen has new solid oak worktops and floors, cupboards and built in oven and hob. The dinning area is located in the lounge. Steep steps located off the lounge and behind an original pine door, lead to the first and second floors. The first floor contains two bedrooms: the first one has a double bed and a working fireplace and church views, and the second bedroom has a 3/4th double bed (or large single bed), that overlooks the 100ft south facing walled private garden. The first bathroom features a roll-top bath with a waterfall shower in an Italian marble setting with a blue, modern glass basin. Steep steps, located behind a door, lead to the second floor, where you will find the master British, king-size bedroom with an en-suite that is decorated in marble tiles and has a waterfall drench shower. Given that the cottage is very old and protected to preserve original (charming) features, you may find that some door ways and exposed beams are low and steps are steep and narrow. The property can sleep 6 adults (and has done), but the common space (lounge and kitchen areas) is on the cosy side and one bed is a small double or large single bed. Feathered pillows, duvets, Egyptian cotton bed linen, towels, soft soap, hairdryer, fan, toilet paper, tissues, cleaning supplies etc. are provided. Please ask if you have any special needs or are wondering if something is supplied. Parking if free with no restrictions. You can easily park in front of the property on most occasions or nearby. The property has a large garden and a grill that you can use, but please no smoking.
The property sits quietly, just off the High Street, in the Cotswold market town of Moreton-in- Marsh, which is located in the heart of the Cotswolds. Facilities in the town include: supermarkets, independent shops, art galleries, traditional and contemporary cafes, pubs and restaurants, a famous weekly market on Tuesdays, wonderful walks along the Cotswold Way and and a stunning arboretum 1.2 mile walk away which you can access through the fields (turn off the high street at Co-op) (bring wellies). Near to Moreton in Marsh are some award winning cotswold pubs, known for their food and great for frequenting especially after a long walk.
  • Lovely cottage. Excellent position, excellent host.

  • A great stay in a perfect location in Moreton for exploring the Cotswolds within easy walking distance of some good pubs and local eateries.

  • Julie is a wonderful host and the cottage is in a great location with pubs , train station and restaurants within walking distance. The cottage is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped.

  • Our stay at Julie's place was one of the best Airbnb experiences we've had. From the very beginning to the very end, I have nothing but great things to say. Fridge & cupboards with all the bare essentials (and many wonderful treats also), this was all above & beyond our Airbnb experiences to date. I genuinely felt like Julie & Gregg cared about us having a wonderful holiday and did all they possibly could to help that. The cottage itself has been renovated to a high standard and has kept the typical feel of a cosy Cotswold cottage. You do get what feels like an authentic experience staying here. Super comfy beds & pillows too. I highly recommend the cottage, Julie & Gregg. We will definitely stay here again when we return to the Cotswolds. Thank you guys!

  • We have just returned from a wonderful week at Julie's cottage in Moreton-in-Marsh. If you are looking for the perfect "base" from which to explore the Cotswolds then this charming cottage is it. Julie was extremely helpful with arrangements and suggestions prior to our trip and politely reached out to check on us via email during our stay. The cottage was perfect.... very clean, very comfortable and very quiet. The photos are spot on - it is delightfully decorated, the beds are very comfortable as are the linens and pillows, the kitchen was outfitted nicely, and the outdoor garden was a delight for relaxing over a glass of wine. Julie also goes the extra mile with fresh flowers and the much appreciated tea and coffee, milk and snacks. There are three floors with a somewhat narrow stairway to the 2nd and 3rd floors as mentioned in the listing. However, we never found it a hardship (I'm 57). The village of Moreton is a picturesque little community with delightful pubs and restaurants (we liked The Bell Inn). Julie's cottage is on a side street, adjacent to a beautiful church and within walking distance to everything including the train station which was perfect for our daily - spur of the moment - adventures as well as traveling to and from London. Local taxis are available for transport to other villages for dinner out or sightseeing. Definitely go sightseeing - this is one of the most beautiful areas on earth. A public walking path will take you through several sheep pastures and fields of wheat to a wonderful Arboretum. Also, visit the excellent cheese shop in Moreton for picnic supplies. We juxtaposed our week in the Cotswolds with front and back stays in London. The perfect contrast and I would do it that way again in the future as by the time you're overwhelmed with the city you're on a train to the countryside and vice versa. All in all, we loved everything, where totally comfortable and have no complaints whatsoever. Thank you, Julie, for everything.

    Heidi2016-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • Julie was a friendly host, she was flexible with our arrival time, provided plenty of information on the local area and some great recommendations of things to do and places to eat.

    Kerry2016-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The owner was very prompt and helpful in all communication. The cottage is lovely and the showers are very good. The host did warn us that the stairs are very steep and I see what she means! The location is great for access to the high street - we popped out each morning to get coffee. There is ample parking.

    Vicky2016-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautifully situated, close to the charming town centre, with delightful views of the church from bedroom windows. We enjoyed sitting out on the comfortable garden furniture to soak in the atmosphere, whilst working our way through the bottle of wine and snacks that Julie had thoughtfully provided. Julie was a very helpful host and was keen to ensure that we were settled and had everything we needed. We were very grateful for the care she showed pre-stay, in installing a rope stair handrail for the first flight of stairs, which unsurprisingly in a period cottage like this were a little steep for my elderly mother.

Converted in 2009 from a two storey stone stable built in 1797, our Grade II listed cottage combines the character and appeal of an historic building with all modern comforts in a secluded courtyard of mellow cotswold stone buildings.
The cottage has oak floors, oak doors and underfloor heating throughout. Downstairs is exceptionally spacious. There is a very large kitchen/dining room. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with a large range style cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and tumble dryer, Moulinex food processor, Nespresso coffee machine and good quality cutlery, glasses and crockery to cater very comfortably for 6 people to dinner party standards. The dining table seats 6 and there is also a victorian leather sofa and a small TV. and an iPod dock. Also on the ground floor is an entrance hall, a shower room, a snug (small sitting room) with a wood burning stove and french windows leading to the private back garden and a large sitting room with picture windows looking out over the front garden and with comfortable sofas and chairs for 6 people and a 42” TV with Freeview and DVD. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one with a king size bed, one with a queen size double and one with two twin beds. All the bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and two have their own hand wash basins. There is also a family bathroom. All linen, towels, etc. are included The cottage achieved a 4 star rating with Visit Britain.
Broad Campden is a very peaceful and tranquil spot where you can enjoy beautiful views, splendid walks, a friendly pub and wonderful honey coloured cotswold stone thatched cottages. Chipping Campden has a good range of shops including a butcher/greengrocer selling fresh local produce and there's a wine merchant. There is a small supermarket which stays open until 9.00 pm 7 days a week. Or you can visit some of the high quality farm shops in the neighbourhood. Highly recommended is the farm shop at Lower Clopton (about 6 miles away) and which has its own website with full details. Also, within a 30 minute drive is Daylesford. And enjoy a spa treatment at Cotswold House Hotel or at the Dormy House hotel close by. For the more active, as well as walking and cycling, we have Broadway Golf Course within 4 miles and an equestrian centre near Broadway. We are only 11 miles from Stratford upon Avon. The renowned Hidcote Gardens are just outside Chipping Campden and there are many historic castles, houses and gardens within an easy drive. For younger children, Adam Henson's Farm Park (from BBC's Countryfile) is just a 20 minute drive.
  • We were 6 adults and had been traveling and stayed in 4 AirBNB's during our holiday. This was the loveliest! Suzanne's place is beautiful, in a charming and rural area. We loved the walking trails, and walked to Baker's Arms for dinner and a brew, also to Chipping Campden. The home is spotlessly clean, the kitchen is so well stocked and we made good use of the washer/dryer after traveling for 8 days prior. Suzanne welcomed us and then left us to our privacy. Suzanne was easy to reach, had been in contact with me regularly before our arrival and knew our estimated time. She also sent me a very newsy and informative email with lots of good information about her area. In the home, there were lots of great travel brochures and a binder with all the info we needed. I would go back and recommend this home to others, in a heartbeat! Thank you so much Suzanne!

    Margie2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful family home with everything you need. Suzanne was friendly and made check-in process very easy. Definitely recommend.

    Chris2017-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodation is in a quite corner of a delightful little village. There is a beautiful short walk over the fields to neighbouring Chipping Campden, which takes less than half an hour. The landlady lives next door, and is very helpful and friendly. The accommodation is very well equipped and tastefully furnished. A bonus was a well-stocked store cupboard which made cooking much easier. We ate our meals a few times in the attractive back garden.

    Timothy2017-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was wonderful and so homelike with all and more facilities than one could expect in a holiday let. We would certainly recommend it and Suzanne to anyone looking for a break in the Cotswolds. We had a great time.

    Angela2015-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Suzanne's lovely home. We had high expectations but they were exceeded! The "stables" is large and spacious, with a wonderful kitchen, three living areas, three great bedrooms, lots of history and character and complete privacy. Suzanne is a friendly host but doesn't intrude at all. She was very generous with all the lovely food provided to help us settle in well. One minor "warning" - the stairs up to the bedrooms are quite steep so if you have any physical challenges it may be tough getting your bags upstairs. All-in-all, a fantastic stay and experience in beautiful Broad Campden. Highly recommended!

    Janette2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully renovated stable, this secluded cottage in tiny Broad Campden is an outstanding and centrally located place to stay for day trips in the Cotswolds area. Suzanne is an exceptional host. An excellent communicator, she provided many detailed and helpful options for excursions, restaurants, and directions to other towns well in advance of our visit and while we were there. The cottage is spotless, well-appointed and provisioned, and beautiful. The private garden is a restful place to watch the doves, pheasants, and pigeons and listen to the distant baaing of the neighbor's sheep. I would give it and her 10 stars if possible. Suzanne sets a high standard and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to experience it and meet her.

    Dana2017-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a very comfortable three nights at The Stables. A real home from home with everything you could need. We would also like to thank Suzanne for the extra touches - some breakfast bits and a delicious cake which we tucked into on arrival! Our days were spent walking so Broad Camden proved to be an ideal location. So much beautiful countryside to enjoy. Suzanne was a great communicator and also provided lots of useful information before our arrival. Thank you. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

    Joyce2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the cottage. I had so much space! There were lots of living areas, it had a spacious dining area and kitchen, and really beautiful bedrooms. We were four adults and one child and it was great for us. It was wonderfully stocked with all of the tools we could have ever wanted in the kitchen, and we cooked a lot. We were able to dine outside in the yard too, it was really lovely. Suzanne was helpful and available if we needed anything, and even had the frig stocked with a few basic items like milk, juice, and eggs for us on our arrival. The cottage is in a really wonderful location for exploring the cotswolds and in a really nice quiet area just on the outskirts of town.

  • This is a lovely traditional accommodation in a beautiful location. Kate and her husband are very welcoming and kindly helped my two friends and I to plan our sightseeing in the area. There are plenty nice restaurants only a few minutes drive away and lots of beautiful areas to walk or admire also within a very short distance. A lovely stay all in all.

  • The house, the rooms & the location are all exceptional. The hosts, Kate & Naughton are very friendly and pleasant people. The house is just a 5 minute drive from the town of Stow-on-the-Wold and is well located for the rest of The Cotswolds. Our only real complaints were that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom and that no cooked items, other than toast, were offered at breakfast.

    Paul2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a stunning home and such gorgeous surroundings. Kate was very helpful and gave us a great recommendation for a walk and pub lunch too.

    Alexia2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Kate's house is fabulous. The views are amazing, the rooms are spacious and clean. Check in was easy. Kate was good at communicating and was very punctual at replying to any questions I had. You'll have a great stay here.

  • A lovely stay, thank you.

    Pk2017-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful settings, just a short walk to the pub, but only to be done in fine weather and daylight as it's through public footpaths in the fields, no lighting. Stow on the wold is a lovely town nearby. There is no cooked breakfast, just nice selection of cereals followed by toast and croissants.

    Kathy2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Manor is a beautiful place to stay in. Kate is a gracious host. Great location. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It will be good if tea/coffee making facilities are offered within the guest section. The idea of breakfast provided is great.

Moreton-in-Marsh is an ancient market town originally founded on the Roman Fosse Way situated in the beautiful North Cotswolds. Moreton has been a traveller's town for at least 1700 years and was used as a coaching station before the coming of the Oxford to Worcester railway in 1853. There are many buildings along the High Street dating from the 17th and 18th Centuries. Many Roman remains have been found in the nearby hamlet of Dorn. Moreton-in-Marsh was granted its market charter in 1227 and the vibrant and bustling market is still held every Tuesday throughout the year. The Cotswold Grey apartments and shop occupy a site historically occupied by an ironmonger - a history that goes back over 160 years.
  • Perfect for our 2 night stay in the Cotswolds. Beautiful apartment, finished to a high spec, was cosy and warm as well as being luxurious. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Loved the shop underneath, worth checking out their website. Welcome hamper on arrival complete with Prosecco was a nice touch. Would definitely stay again! Moreton in Marsh has a train station so we managed to make the trip without having a car, worked well.

    Katie2016-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant apartment for a weekend away. Host was extremely helpful and even had a welcome hamper for us. Highly recommended.

    Olivia2016-05-31T00:00:00Z
  • If your looking for an apartment that has all the amenities that you would find in a luxury apartment, this is the one. The floor plan of Lapwing, provides a large fully operational kitchen and dining area, a bathroom designed with quality fixtures in mind, the bedroom with an open concept to the living room includes beautiful decor, a large amount of storage, perfect bedding for comfort, a TV in each space, a large sofa and chair for lounging, plus a beautiful view of the downtown area. The privacy and security was an added bonus, the outdoor garden area is just beautiful. The location in the Cotswolds was perfect as we did not have a car and arrived by train. This allowed us to spend an extra night here, then off to London, an hour an half away, to then board the Heathrow Express to the airport; a simple and efficient way to travel. We did hire a guide to tour the Cotswolds, a recommendation by Cotswolds Grey, and I can say that we would have never been able to see the villages in such depth as we did. If you're looking for a quality experience in the Cotswolds, do not look any further...

This beautiful cotswold stone detached cottage offers a wonderful quiet retreat, whilst offering nearby gastro pubs (walking distance) and fantastic walks on the Heart of England Way. This romantic hideaway is easily reached by car (parking immediately outside cottage), train (moreton-in-marsh station, 1.5 hours from London) or bus.
The cottage is all on level ground with no steps. Small and perfectly formed with quality furnishings throughout.
Blockley is an award winning cotswold village. It was the centre of the silk industry in the 18th and 19th century. It has two pubs within walking distance of the cottage, both of which offer excellent food and local ales. There is also a thriving village cafe run by locals as a co-operative. Pop in for a delicious cooked breakfast or cream tea. Blockley also has a shop and post office.
  • Had a great stay at Pats Home. Lovely little cottage with all that you need. Pat was very welcoming and even left Us a bottle of wine and some biscuits. Blockley is a little out of the way so it’s perfect if you need an escape. Would stay again in a heart beat.

    Hannah2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Pats home is small and perfectly formed. The facilities are immaculate and high quality linens, towels and crockery, much appreciated. The space is compact, but the use of the outdoor shared courtyard adds to the feeling of additional space. Pat, is an attentive, yet sensitive host. Her communication was excellent and she was helpful in signposting us to great walks, good places to eat and even use of the chimminea! Parking is available in the enclosed courtyard and the whole village setting felt welcoming, safe and is utterly beautiful, we highly recommend it.

A beautiful traditional Cotswold cottage perfectly positioned on the High Street in the pretty market town of Moreton in Marsh. Refurbished to a very high standard. The perfect cotswold retreat with eat, drink and shop just steps away from the door!
The grade II listed cottage dates from the early 17th century and many of the original features remain intact today. It has a large and welcoming open fire in the living room and exposed beams throughout the ground floor. There is a fully fitted kitchen with double oven range style cooker and dining area for four. A shower room and toilet, with a further washroom and toilet on the second floor. The cottage has central heating throughout and a constant supply of piping hot water. The two cottage bedrooms located on the second floor both have double beds. Doors from both the kitchen and lounge lead to a pretty rear garden with seated patio area. There is ample free off street parking to the front of, and over the road from the cottage. Opposite is the elegant Manor House Hotel (pop over for cream teas or the fine restaurant and bar), just five doors away is the Swan pub, and in 350 yards is The Inn on The Marsh pub. Visitors will not be disappointed with this warm and cosy, quiet sanctuary set amidst the hustle and bustle of a historic market town.
Moreton-in-Marsh is one of the principal market towns in the northern Cotswolds. In the thirteenth century it developed as a market town and was granted its market charter in 1227. There is still a bustling market every Tuesday with up to 200 stalls attracting visitors from far and wide. Moreton has been a traveller's town for at least 1700 years so there are plenty of pubs, tea shops, restaurants and hotels to provide refreshments!! Many of the old buildings along the High Street date from the 17th and 18th centuries. King Charles l is said to have stayed at The White Hart Hotel in 1644. Moreton-in-Marsh was founded on the Roman Fosse Way, later the traditional London to Worcester coaching route via Broadway. When you have finished exploring the town you may want to look at more of this beautiful part of the English countryside. The Cotswolds itself is one of the world's great destinations with it's characteristic honey coloured limestone cottages nestled in sleepy villages surrounded by rolling countryside. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1966, and protected as a living working landscape.
  • Don't hesitate to book this cottage! It is lovely, perfectly situated, and very comfortable. We travelled to Moreton-in-Marsh with our 5 year old and 2 year old, and the cottage was perfect for them as well. It is toddler friendly and safe, and both of my children kept saying how soft the bedsheets were. It is also quite spacious, more than it seems in the photos! We appreciated the lovely fireplace and all of the homey touches. And it is really well situated in the town. We parked our car on arrival and didn't need it until departure. Joanne's information and help before our trip made everything so easy.

    Marla2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed three enjoyable nights at the Cottage. It was just what we wanted in staying in the cotswolds. The outer sections of the building, fireplace, and beams were clearly old and rustic but the kitchen remodel was elegant and efficient. The cottage is an excellent point for visiting highpoints in the Cotswolds. Moreton-in-Marsh is a charming, friendly village. we'd return here in an instant and recommend this option to anyone. Thank you, Joanne, for making this unique residence available to Airbnb.

Only suggestion would be to have a welcome folder with information on how to use appliances, heating etc. Many thanks for a pleasant stay.

Great facilities (amazing shower and an incredible sofa which meant lots of unplanned naps!) Whilst it's fairly secluded it's close enough to Stow for everything you might want. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend.

  • We recently spent two nights at Clematis Cottage and had a very nice stay. We loved the location and the cottage came very well equipped. Mark was also very responsive to our communications. The outside of the cottage was a little more worn than what we expected and some unattended damage to the window frames on the cottage was a little distracting. The main negative for our visit was that the plates and glasses were not cleaned completely and we had to wash everything before using it. Overall, we felt the cottage was very good value and would definitely consider staying there again in the future.

    Kevin2017-07-19T00:00:00Z

Previously owned by an English Lord and Lady, the cottage was featured in The Daily Mail and in pastimes was the village post office and bakery (the original baker’s oven is still there to see). Enter through the front stable door directly into the fully equipped kitchen, a light and airy room with windows and stable doors to the front and rear. Furnishings include a range of fitted wood cupboards, an antique oak table and four chairs and monk's bench. Just outside the kitchen door is an outer room, complete with washer/dryer and freezer. The sitting room is wonderfully cosy with a large Cotswold stone inglenook fireplace featuring a salt drying box and wooden seat on one side and a wood burning stove with plenty of logs. Two very comfortable two seater Laura Ashley sofas are provided and the window seat carved in Elm especially for the cottage by a local craftsman provides a special touch, the perfect place to sit with a coffee or a book and to watch the horses stroll by. A flat screen Smart TV with Freeview and DVD player provide additional entertainment and the cottage offers excellent superfast Wi-Fi. A few winding stairs lead to the landing upstairs. The stairs are an original feature thus adding even more character that Tea Cosy has to offer. BEDROOM ONE - Part of the charm of this cottage is its original features including this bedroom's original doorway and oak beams. The old painted brick chimney breast faces you as you enter this light room with windows on two sides. The room is furnished with a double bed (4'6" wide), rugs on the wooden floors, an antique rocking chair, and a chest of drawers and wardrobe. BEDROOM TWO - This small but delightful room has two solid wood single beds cleverly made by a local craftsman. With a walk-in cupboard that provides a shelf and hanging space for clothes, it is ideal for children. There are wooden oak floors throughout upstairs in the cottage. BATHROOM - White bathroom suite and wooden floor. The bath is fitted with a shower screen with electric shower over the bath. The room also contains a basin with overhead light with shaver point and WC. The delightfully private, enclosed rear garden is very pretty and laid to grass with herbaceous borders, the perfect setting to dine al fresco or to simply sit and chat with a glass of wine in the evening as the sun sets. When you walk under a wooden archway where the garden narrows it then opens out into another secluded area. There is public parking in front of Tea Cosy Cottage. We fell in love with our cottage, we know you will too…we look forward to welcoming you to Tea Cosy Cottage.
Stretton on Fosse is steeped in medieval history and was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086, with its two former manor houses owned by King William the Conqueror and King Henry VIII. A lovely book about the village and its history, written by a villager, includes intriguing photographs of Tea Cosy Cottage in days gone by and can be found in the cottage to read, and may also be purchased directly from the author himself. The village is delightful, and the friendly locals will be sure to give you a warm welcome, particularly in the Plough Inn, an award-winning 18th Century country pub with a lovely atmosphere, just 5 minutes’ walk away, serving delicious home cooked food and fine local ales. The pub’s slogan is “enter as strangers – leave as friends.” A stroll up the lane back to the cottage under a spectacularly bright starlit night sky after an evening in the Plough doesn’t get much better! Excellent walks across stunning countryside are plentiful, with horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, hawking, falconry and many other sports such as cycling all available locally. Beautiful historic towns and quintessential Cotswold villages all lie within easy reach, along with castles, manor houses and award-winning gardens. The Cotswolds are known as England’s largest area of outstanding natural beauty, and Tea Cosy Cottage is perfectly placed to explore…
  • Tea Cosy Cottage is beautiful, it's the perfect place to snuggle up with a log fire for a few relaxing nights away. The hosts are very welcoming, quick to respond and had laid the cottage out beautifully with plenty of fresh towels and a basket of goodies and logs to get us started. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. The locals are also very friendly and the Plough Inn is within easy walking distance. A great base to explore the Cotswolds.

Pearl Cottage is a beautiful Victorian Cotswold stone cottage built in 1837 in the totally unspoilt village of Blockley. The village has two pubs and a community owned village shop and cafe that serves delicious coffees and cakes, as well as a historic Norman church (where Father Brown is filmed!) in the centre of the village. There are plenty of stunning country walks immediately accessible from the cottage, which is set on a quiet road near the village school. The house is fully carpeted except for the kitchen and the bathroom. Like many old Victorian cottages, this house has 1 bathroom (with gorgeous shower and bath) but not a 2nd loo or bathroom. Blockley is between Chipping Campden and Moreton-in the Marsh, away from the crowds and yet within driving distance of some of the best tourist spots to the Cotswolds has to offer. Before you come our housekeeper Maggie will prepare the house for you, and leave a welcome pack with fresh milk, eggs, bread, jam, tea, coffee and sugar. We also provide you with an initial supply of kindling, firelighters and logs to get the fire going nicely.
Pearl Cottage is on a quiet road on the edge of the village centre, 5 minutes' walk to the village shop and community cafe or open countryside and fields. It is an ideal retreat for friends or a family looking for a lovely quiet cottage in a beautiful location between Chipping Campden and Moreton-in the Marsh. • Pearl Cottage lived up exactly to what we expected from the description and photos. It is the quintessential Cotswolds cottage. It is beautifully decorated and appointed, and immaculately maintained. And Blockley is a wonderful village to escape to. Evenings in the back garden were especially magical. We highly recommend a stay at Pearl Cottage!

The cottage had everything you could possibly need and Blockley itself was lovely and very centrally located - had a lovely walk to Chipping Campden one day and within 20 minutes or so drive to all the bigger Cotswold towns. • Such a lovely cottage! Absolutely perfect for 4 people or a family. Log burner made it even more cosy, but definitely amble room to stay in a cook / have a meal too. The village is beautiful and the cottage is right in the middle. 5 minute walk to all the shops, pubs (we counted 7), market etc. Lovely walks to all the nearby Cotswold Villages too. Highly recommend!

    Adam2017-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Moreton Cottage for 3 nights in mid-May for my son & wife and my wife and myself. We were very pleased with the accommodation as the renovation to this old property had been superb - I will look around my house to hopefully bring it up to the same standard!. The bathroom had a bath with a shower above it with ample hot water. The kitchen had everything that we might need to cook and wash. The Wifi worked well and the TV reception was perfect. We sat outside on two nights, eating and drinking on the table and chairs in the garden. The only slight problem was the staircase which was difficult to ascend for two almost two metre tall men though it was ok for our wives. The location was perfect as the cottage was just off the High Street, and there was no noise outside. Parking my car was easy as there were spaces almost across from the cottage. The owner, Warren, sent through excellent information in plenty of time about the access, room inventory, terms & conditions. We were pleased that towels and tea towels were included. Access was not allowed till 4pm which I felt was a bit late - perhaps the owner could review this time. Overall I would highly recommend staying in Moreton Cottage.

It is divinely comfortable, warm and beautifully furnished in exquisite surroundings - we slept so well! It is also a great base to explore the Cotswolds. Ginny and Peter recommended a number of local restaurants - although we loved their first recommendation - The Churchill Arms - so much that we never went anywhere else... We would love to come back.

  • Thank you for providing us with a comfortable and well located stay in Stow-on-the-Wold. We enjoyed four nights in this lovely cottage which was clean with a stylish interior and a bouquet of lillies to welcome us. We appreciated the little touches including the wine and foodie bits on arrival and the porcelain mugs and coffee machine. Everything worked well, we were given a table and chairs for the living room and the place looked beautiful. We were in close walking distance of the pubs and restaurants which was an added plus. As advised, the stairs are probably best for over 2's. Our toddler needed a bit of reminding to go slowly before trying to climb them. Overall we had a wonderful stay. Thank you Nicola! We would recommend this cottage to friends and family and would happily stay again ourselves.

  • One of the best Airbnb experiences I've had. Nicky's cosy and fully equpped apartment is the perfect locatoin to explore the Cotswolds from and truly has been a home away from home. Nicky did everything i her power to make it so; she even left reakfast provisions for us in the fridge for our first day. She has been a great host and very easy to communicate with. Another added bonus: the Nespresso coffee machine. :)

We explored lots of the Cotswold and managed to not drive more than 40 miles away. The cottage is 5 minutes walk from the centre of Stow. The building is old and could get chilly but the heating was good and quickly warmed the whole house. Lovely place. 100% would recommend.

  • Our weekend stay in the newly built barn annexe was nothing short of perfect. The room is cosy, luxurious and well equipped. Maureen was so friendly and helpful and her attention to detail made all the difference (she had even put milk in the fridge for us!) The annexe is located in the heart of Morton in marsh, walking distance from the main high street so we had no trouble getting around. The dedicated parking spot was also very handy! Highly highly recommended place to stay if you are thinking of the Cotswolds for a break. Thank you Maureen! Xx

  • Maureen and Andy made us very welcome with a cup of tea and gave us lots of information on places to visit. The self catering barn annex was just beautiful, it is very new, well equiped and with Maureen's attention to detail we had all that we needed. The whole place is very attractive, cosy and in a location that's close to town. It was an easy 10 min walk to pubs, supermarkets etc. Moreton in Marsh is a 25 min dive to Stratford upon Avon and we went to the Shakespeare theatre and drove home late, this was easy to do. There are lots of small Cotswold villages in the area and plenty of walks as well. We could not recommend this accomodation highly enough, it was a real treat to stay there

    Jennifer2016-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Barn Annexe is an ideal base for a walking holiday in the Cotswolds. Being able to walk into town to shop for groceries, go to tea, find a pub, attend the market day, visit the tourist information centre and use the post office is so easy and close by. We did about 5 different all day walks and never had to drive more than a few miles to start each one. Being able to pack our lunches and have breakfast on our own in the Annexe was very useful and economical. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots and pans to do your own dinners as well. All in all a nearly "perfect" place to stay.

  • Beautiful farm and a quaint little shepherds hut! Wonderful for a relaxing trip to the country side. Had all you could need.

    Preston2017-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia and Sarah's place was amazing, the hut didn't feel cramped like they often do and so long as you have a car or bikes there loads to do in the area. The farm itself was beautiful and we were given the option to go riding on the horses (unfortunately we didnt find the time to actually do so). Patricia and Sarah were very accommodating and quick respond to any questions or queries we had. Would definitely recommend.

    Jay2017-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter and I spent a night in lovely Ronald the shepherd's hut to celebrate her 8th birthday. Pat and Amanda went above and beyond to make it special for her, with balloons on the front door and a gift waiting inside. The hut was super cosy and amazingly well equipped for such a compact space. There is a lovely outdoor seating area too and the shower and toilet were spotless and well heated. A really special place to stay.

    Fran2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you need, extremely clean and hosts were communicative leading up to stay. Secluded with a great view and just a short drive to Stow or Moreton.

    Laura2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is really comfortable and very cosy. It was so peaceful, quiet and relaxing. The views are great, we enjoyed watching the horses and especially stargazing at night from the comfy bed. The loo and shower are excellent although a little distant, especially in the dark but it is all part of the experience. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Welcome to number 7 Mount Pleasant, located in a quiet spot in the middle of the historic village of Blockley. Blockley, known a the ‘Hidden Gem of the Cotswolds’, is perfectly located for many wonderful countryside walks, and exploring the many beautiful Cotswolds villages and towns. I love running, and this area is perfect for shorter, easy runs, as well as much more challenging hilly trail runs. The scenery is amazing, and I can provide details of great routes for multiple distances.
Number 7 is well proportioned one bedroom cottage, with lots of character, with the benefit of courtyard garden ideal for alfresco dining! It is set on a quiet lane with pedestrian only access, and moments from the heart of the village. Free on street parking is readily available. A short path across the courtyard garden leads to the front door, opening to a small enclosed porch, and then into the open plan living rom and well equipped kitchen. Stairs lead to the first floor bedroom and bathroom (with bath and separate shower).
Blockley is the classic Cotswolds village, beautiful and idyllic. Many of the buildings in the village date back to the 1800’s, and Blockley’s past as a centre for silk weaving. The village boasts two pubs, and a community shop and cafe. The village is perfectly located, close to the well known Cotswolds towns of Chipping Campden (3.3 miles), Moreton-in-Marsh (4 miles), and Stow-on-the-Wold (7.5 miles). Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon are both within 20 miles. There are many beautiful walks from the doorstep, and plenty of fantastic places to eat very close at hand.
  • The cottage is a lovely place to stay. It was very clean and nicely presented when we arrived. It's cosy and quiet. Simon was very helpful, replied quickly and gave us handy local information and recommendations! I would definitely recommend staying here :)

  • This is as described, a lovely peaceful cottage in an excellent location for exploring the Cotswolds. It's cosy and welcoming & as soon as you arrive you can relax. The cottage is perfect for two - dog friendly with a safe secure garden which is a real bonus. The village of Blockley is very pretty, nearby there is a pub, cafe & shop all within walking distance. Kitchen is well equipped if you decide to self cater. Parking isn't directly outside but no distance away so don't be put off by (URL HIDDEN) literally less than 2 minutes walk if that. Super comfortable bed & lovely linen and towels. Communication with the host was always prompt & easy. We highly recommend this cottage. Thanks Simon.

  • The Cottage is just perfect, spotlessly clean, everything you would need is there, we couldn't fault anything, location couldn't be better for visiting the Cotswolds. Although we have visited the Cotswolds many times, Blockley is our favourite of them all & Simon was the perfect host in everyway, quick response to our booking & offered help if needed with the best sightseeing areas, places to eat etc. Can highly recommend a visit to the Cottage you won't be disappointed, you won't want to leave though!!!! Big thanks Simon.

  • Simon's cottage is very cute and comfortable and I was sorry to leave after a lovely week there. The location is incredibly quiet, having only pedestrian access; however this is not a problem as on street parking is available a couple of minutes walk away. The cottage is very well equipped and furnished with an attractive little kitchen, a very comfortable bed and lovely front garden. The local shop nearby is a bonus being surprisingly well stocked and this friendly and very beautiful village is very convenient as a base for exploring the best of the Cotswolds.

An elegantly finished cottage located in the Cotswolds. The village of Todenham dates back to the Domesday Book and is a quiet, rural retreat 3 miles from the historic market town on Moreton-in-Marsh. A local station, pubs, shops complement the area.
Todenham is a quiet village in the heart of the Cotswold with easy links to London and Oxford by train. There are good local pubs to eat out and wonderful villages, historic houses and gardens to visit and good country walking. The cottage is finished to a high standard and very comfortable.
There are many local sights and attractions in the Cotswolds. We will provide tourist leaflets on arrival but please do Google 'Official Cotswold Website'.
  • Knee Brook Cottage provides lovely accommodation in a quiet Cotswold village but within easy reach of popular tourist sites. The cottage was beautifully presented and well equipped with everything we needed. A wonderful place for a 'get away'.

    Stephen2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Todenham for NYE. Matthew and Jo's house is perfect for three couples (three decent double rooms) and is really well stocked for cooking your own meals. The house was lovely - clean, tidy and cosy, and the local area is great for country walks and pubs.

    Alice2017-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location. Close to the village, short drives to great towns and activities. Cottage was excellent - very comfortable, warm, excellent facilities and super clean. Host Claire was a delight. We will return.

  • Wow. This Place is just amazing. The cottage is very clean and very beautiful. Very authentic to the British countryside. Very suitable for 3 adult couples. Everything is just so close by. There is a farm 5 mins away which has its own shop. There is a budgens ten mins drive away which is packed full of local food and drink.

Elsie has comfy twin beds that can also be made into a kingsize double, with storage underneath. Please request your preferred arrangement. Bed linen and towels are provided. Stratford upon Avon, Cheltenham and Warwick are both within a 40 minute drive. There are miles of bridleways and footpaths to explore in the surrounding area and some great local pubs and restaurants. Daylesford Organic is 3 miles away too and well worth a visit whilst you stay.
  • It's a pity I did not get to see Sarah. However, she is very responsive throughout and is easily contactable via msg. The place is spic and span and lovely decorated in a small cosy self-contained shepherd's hut. Do prepare proper footwear as the fields may be muddy on a rainy day and when one needs to access the toilet.

    Priscilla2017-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Elsie is highly recommended. One of the cutest cosiest places you will stay. Overlooking rolling countryside truly 'away from it all'. We were furnished with breakfast and coffee for the morning which was really lovely, the bed was so fluffy and cosy, really would recommend to anyone thinking of a little country break.

  • Beautiful setting right next to the Riding School and farm. Would love one of these in my own garden. Never mind a man shed this should be a Lady Shed. Just lovely,

    Eilish2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • The shepherds hut is lovely, situated in a quiet field next to the neighbouring hut Ronald, with stunning views across the open fields. Extremely clean and really well finished inside! Absolutely loved our stay in the cute little place, just a shame we couldn't stay longer.

    Josh2017-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely spot in the Cotswolds. Easy to find and pretty countryside all around. The bathroom and "float" facilities were exactly what we needed for our stay - nice hot shower and comfy bed. Thanks so much, Sarah!

    Leah2017-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I visited this amazing hideout located far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. It is conveniently located within 15 mins drive to several other towns too! The hut was extremely clean and cosy, with sufficient space to store our baggages. Sarah was very responsive to our calls and she also recommended a horse riding package that we thoroughly enjoyed, do consider it!

    Jacqueline2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's thought of every little detail; the cabins are comfy, cosy, clean, and just as cute as the pictures show. The views are beautiful and the location is perfect for visiting the major sites of Cotswolds. We'll definitely be returning for another stay

  • Trudie's room above the garage is delightful. In winter I can imagine it being warm and cosy - it has a good heater - and wonderful to come back to after a day out. It's clean, well appointed, has a great shower and a nice walk into te centre I the village. We came up from London without a car but Trudie was kind enough to get us from the nearest station (Moreton on Marsh) when our calls to taxis were unsuccessful. If going up from London on the train, think about hiring bikes before u go. The area is a very nice are for cycling and there is a lot to enjoy within cycling distance. We would stay there again.

We appreciated the milk, jam, cereal and butter left for us--very sweet. The coffeehouse and Indian restaurant she recommended were fantastic, too. Highly recommended.

  • Great little studio in the country but close to Stow, Kingham and Morton. The place has everything you need for a day or two away, a little bolt hole away from it all. Full kitchen and good hot shower. Nice and warm with heated bathroom floor. There are 2 easy chairs and a dining table and a couple of dining chairs. Amazing what you can fit in to such a tiny space. Quite hard to find in the dark and fog but probably fine in the light. Trudie was v helpful in giving us some recommended taxi numbers.

The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
  • Charming Cotswold cottage with private garden, perfect for dogs and children to run around safely.

Very quiet area and close to centre of Moreton-in-Marsh. It's a good central location to visit lots of beautiful Villages in the Cotswolds.

  • We only stayed at Sally's place for one night and it was a very pleasant experience. Sally was very friendly and helpful upon our arrival. We liked that it was a private apartment with all amenities you could need. The house is a bit more modern than the traditional Cotswolds houses, but there is more than enough of the traditional Cotswolds around you when exploring the surrounding villages and areas.

Little Forge is the kind of place that you dream of discovering - an exceptional three bedroom historic Cotswold Stone cottage with classic Inglenook fireplace, countryside views and a shallow brook flowing gently at the end of a lovely terraced garden. Originally the forge for the Cooper next door, Little Forge blends old-world charm with stylish modern elements. Understated from the front, stepping into Little Forge will captivate and delight.
Property description Ever wished you had a friend with a stylish country cottage in a beautiful location in the world famous Cotswolds, one who also knew the best local restaurants, towns and hidden attractions? New for June 2016, Little Forge is the kind of place that you dream of discovering - an exceptional three bedroom historic Cotswold Stone cottage, which originally served as the forge for the Cooper next door, that has been recently refurbished with great attention, providing the perfect blend of stylish modern living in a period setting. Blockley itself is one of the Cotswolds’ best kept secrets - a stunningly vibrant village nestled into the side of a broad valley, with two pubs, a Norman church and a thriving community village shop and café. The village is also the setting for the BBC's popular mystery drama Father Brown, starring Mark Williams of Harry Potter fame. Little Forge sits in an idyllic location within Blockley's historic centre, with wonderful pastoral views beyond the attractive terraced garden which leads to the gently flowing Blockley Brook (which was, incidentally, part of the original London to Worcester medieval road – it’s a ford). Guests at Little Forge will enjoy wonderful period features such as mullioned windows, beamed ceilings, exposed Cotswold stone walls, window seats and a large Inglenook fireplace, alongside the necessary modern facilities of a digital smart TV with WiFi connectivity for Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc. The Details: Enter Little Forge and arrive in the thoughtfully decorated, large double-fronted living room complete with real-fire Inglenook fireplace, window seats and fully glazed French doors onto the wonderfully private internal courtyard - a real suntrap! There's comfortable seating for six people with alternative seating available courtesy of the window seats. The other end of the living room accommodates the entrance hall with a handy desk and plenty of storage for coats, boots, etc. Make your way through the entrance hall into the bespoke kitchen and dining room, off which is the handy utility and cloakroom housing a washing machine, wc and basin. Storage under the stairs houses the ironing and cleaning equipment. The light and spacious kitchen-diner includes an impressive range cooker with a five burner gas hob and two electric ovens, a full size fridge freezer, a dishwasher, microwave, small TV and kettle. There is plenty of work surface, thanks to a large kitchen island. This same island also acts to separate the dining area from the kitchen. The kitchen also benefits from wonderful light thanks to walls of glass and a series of roof lights. The dining area has a dining table with a combination of bench and chair seating for six. The glazed folding patio doors from the dining room lead to an ample outdoor terrace with a six-person outdoor dining set with parasol and a charcoal barbecue. This, in turn, leads to the further terraced rear garden via a series of stone steps and ultimately to the "sundowner terrace" right beside the soft flowing Blockley Brook at the foot of the garden. Back inside, the staircase leads up to the first floor landing, off which is the bright and airy family bathroom with double ended bath and overhead shower and stone top vanity basin unit. Fluffy white towels are provided for each stay. Up one step from the landing towards the back of the house and you arrive in Bedroom 1 - the Master Bedroom. With lovely countryside views, this welcoming room exudes tranquility. The bed is a superking size. Not only does this room have ample built-in wardrobe and large chest of drawers but it also boasts a perfectly formed ensuite shower-room with wc and hand- basin. Back to the landing and one step up towards the front of the house and you are in a small vestibule that leads to the other two double bedrooms. Bedroom 2 is a spacious room full of charm thanks in part to the exposed Cotswold stone chimney breast, but also the furnishings... a king size iron bed and two attractive chest of drawers (doing double duty as bedside tables). Its wonderful double-aspect floods the room with light throughout the day. Bedroom 3 probably has the most character, with its exotic bespoke headboards and styling. Made up as a twin with two full sized single beds, it can be converted into a superking. It also has an ample built-in wardrobe. All the rooms have blackout Roman blinds and beds are made up with the finest Egyptian cotton linen for a wonderful night’s sleep. Parking is available on the quiet road directly out front of the property. All in all, Little Forge is the perfect setting for a family holiday or for a group of friends wishing to explore the beautiful Cotswolds region.

  • This was nothing short of a perfect weekend in the country. A lovely home; charming and understatedly chic with ample "how-to's" and comfort all around. An utter delight to stay here. We loved our coffee in the garden, the walks in town. We wanted to move in.

  • Fantastic cottage in a quiet village location in the beautiful Cotswolds. Everything in cottage t is to a high spec so you feel very spoilt. Shawn made us feel very welcome in her village we even went to the local May fair to watch the dancing round the May pole. Hope to return in the future. Eat in the local Great Weston Arms fabulous meal, lovely walks direct from the cottage.

  • Shawn's house is incredible, a perfect mix of character and modern features and could very easily feature on Pinterest! We absolutely loved the fireplace and the very well equipped modern kitchen with the gorgeous views of the garden and beyond. Shawn was also a great host. Whilst we didn't meet in person, we got some great tips from her via email before we arrived on what to do in the area and she even left us some lovely welcome treats in the house. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and all the rooms are a good size. It's also very well located to visit all the lovely villages in North and Central Cotswolds. We definitely hope to be back again some day and thank you Shawn for providing the perfect place to celebrate my dad's 60th!

  • My family loved our stay at the cottage. Was cozy, clean, and perfectly decorated. Very quiet and serene. Loved the sounds of the water, sheep, and birds from the mater bedroom. Used the local blockley Store daily. Loved meeting the local neighbors and Shawn herself. A lovely village. We enjoyed it - you will too!

  • Little Forge was exactly as perfect as it seemed! What a treat it was to enter into this wonderfully equipped cottage decorated in full English charm nestled in the heart of Blockley, a beautiful Cotswold's gem. Little Forge was rustic enough in its older parts but also amazingly modern in a renovated kitchen add-on which is easily the focal point of the house as it looks onto the terraced garden. We enjoyed making dinners for everyone in that space and were fortunate enough to retire into a cozy king bed upstairs. Bathrooms were all new and clean and the extra half bath downstairs was handy for our large group. Shawn was a gracious local host who helped arrange a special birthday cake from a nearby baker, and was always attentive and responsive to any requests. We loved the village which was central to visiting the Cotswolds and has its own shop and great pub if you want to just stay in town. All in all an amazing stay and we hope to return.

  • Shawn's place is beautiful - really light and stylishly designed. Communication was speedy and clear throughout. Shawn had left some cake and wine for us, which was a really generous gesture. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Shawn, but she sent us really clear check-in instructions and and phoned to check we were OK. The house is in a lovely village with a great local cafe and pub in walking distance. I would recommend it all. Thanks.

Large double room (two single beds) and ensuite bathroom with shower. A breakfast tray is included with fresh orange juice, a caffetiere of coffee, croissants and home-made marmalade. Beautiful country house in historic village of Adlestrop with literary links in the heart of the spectacular Cotswolds. Easy access to Woodstock, Oxford, Cheltenham, and villages.
The bedroom and bathroom are large, quiet and very comfortable. the house is stylishly decorated with a beautiful garden. Adlestrop is a small, quiet village in a spectacular setting. Famously, Jane Austen was inspired to write Mansfield Park while staying in this village with her uncle and Edward Thomas wrote the world famous poem 'Adlestrop'. Adlestrop is in easy reach of Daylesford, and many beautiful Cotswold villages. There is plenty of walking and sightseeing to do.
We are in easy reach of many great local pubs, serving delicious lunch and dinner. The Fox at Oddington is a few minutes drive or 20 walk through fields and country lanes and the Plough at Kingham is a 5 minute drive. Stowe (10 mins drive) has a huge selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes, as does nearby Moreton in Marsh, Chipping Norton and Woodstock (home to Blenheim Palace) is 20 mins drive.
  • We absolutely loved our stay at The cottage hosted by Carole and Ernest. They were so welcoming and helpful with knowledge of the Cotswolds area, itinerary planning and Ernest even rang around the local eateries to book is a table for dinner! The room was well setup, private entry and private bathroom. Very comfortable stay and easy reach to many villages of interest in the Cotswolds to explore. Would highly recommend to others!

  • Adlestrop and all surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful!! All picture perfect locations. Our stay was wonderful and we felt very welcome by Carole, who helped us plan our trip around the Cotswolds with her great knowledge of the area:) Beautiful room and house with a fabulous nights sleep :) would definitely recommend staying if planning a trip. Thank you very much for a great stay :)

  • This is a lovely place to stay in all respects. The house itself is delightfully pastoral with mellow Cotswold stone, beautiful furnishings and a perfect setting. Carole is very hospitable, knowledgeable about the area and a genial host who makes you feel at home without intruding. The accommodation is at the front of the house and almost forms a private suite as it has a beautifully appointed en-suite bathroom and tea making facilities. The room itself is utterly perfect and is appointed to the highest standard. Breakfast was a delicious croissant, freshly squeezed home-made orange juice and coffee. There is off-road parking.

  • A friend and I spent one night at Carole's lovely house in the Cotswold. It was a wonderful experience! Our host was very friendly and helpful, and the accommodation is simply gorgeous. It almost feels like a museum, but in a very comfortable way so. The bathroom is great and she has the softest towels. I can only recommend choosing Carole’s place.

  • Lovely place in the Cotswolds. In a very quiet little village but close to Stow-on-the-Wold and Bourton-on-the-Water. The host and her husband were very welcoming and everything was warm and cosy. I'd happily stay here again when back visiting the Cotswolds.

    Robert2015-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Mrs Carol and Mr Ernest were so kind with us. They talked about things to do and booked a great restaurants! The room was amazing, warmed and cleaned! The orange marmalade was delicious!!! Thank you so much for the unforgettable days!

  • Beautiful little cottage, very cosy and tastefully decorated. The house is really comfortable and well equipped, the beds are luxurious, and the setting is idyllic. A short walk away from a great little shop and cafe, two pubs and some lovely walks. Victoria was extremely kind and helpful, and there was even a delicious cake waiting for us on arrival.

  • Red lion cottage is even prettier than it looks in the photo. The village of Blockley is beautiful and a great place to base yourself to explore the surrounding areas. The cottage has every amenity that you could possibly need for an unforgettable trip. If we return to the Cotswolds we most certainly will stay here. Thanks once again for a great trip.

    Emma2017-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Thoroughly recommend, the cottage is fantastic and Blockley is a wonderful village. As the cottage is on a no through road it's really quiet which was a real positive.

  • As a group of 4 plus a baby we had a wonderful stay at Victoria's beautiful accommodation. If you want a relaxing classic cotswolds stay then look no further. The cottage was magnificent with a beautiful large open fire. All amenities provided. All furnishings to a very high standard with 2 good bathrooms. The local shop and cafe is a very good size providing everything you need. The surrounding countryside stunning and multiple smaller towns easily accessible by car. We walked (roughly 1 hour carrying a baby) to chipping campden which is a larger town with shops and restaurants, and half way along the walk is a lovely pub for a well earned break. Victoria was easily contactable and could not have been more accommodating with our requests. We would definitely recommend anyone to stay here and are hopeful of staying here ourselves again in the future!!

  • We were 2 couples and the cottage was perfect for us. It is very well decorated, with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The village is beautiful and is perfectly located to visit the Costwolds. Victoria was very nice and even welcomed us with a delicious cake! This place is strongly recommended!

    Virginie2017-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • This modernised cottage is nestled in a hidden valley which secretes Blockley from the rest of the world. If you enjoy peace and quiet, the country life and fresh air this spot is ideal.

  • Red Lion Cottage was an idyllic place to stay, nested in a charming and quiet Cotswold village. The surrounding nature and architecture were stunning, it was easy to go for a picturesque ramble straight from the front door. The cottage itself had everything you could need, and the decor was finished to a high standard throughout, including a gorgeous claw-foot bath tub in the upstairs bathroom. We were sad to leave and can't wait to stay again!

  • We had a fantastic time at Val's place. It had everything you want in a B&B: delicious breakfasts, a very comfortable bed and mattress, hot water and good water pressure, etc. The house was very clean and well cared for. (Just a note that she does have a cat, which could be an issue for those with allergies, but didn't bother us at all.) Valerie was a great host and the location is a good base for exploring the Cotswolds (we had a rental car). I would certainly recommend this place and wouldn't hesitate to go back!

    Kelsey2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a delight to stay in a perfect Cotswolds village ,with walking trails and so many nearby beautiful villages nearby, and to have Valerie looking after you, she is so generous, and helpful. I'm going back, there is still so much to see! Valerie( Australia)

  • Valerie could not be a better host. She is warm, friendly and could not do enough for us. The breakfast was surperb and the Local pub, the Horse and Groom, we could not recommend highly enough. Over all a fantastic place to stay in the Cotswolds. Bruce and Leanne

  • Valerie is the epitome of a Super Host. She couldn't do enough for us. Her place is quirky and fun. The full English breakfast was fantastic! We so enjoyed meeting and conversing with other guests. There are 3 rooms to let, and that made it intimate, but also private. We wished we were staying more than the two nights that we booked. It is so close to Blenheim Palace, Stratford on Avon, and all the authentic, medieval towns of the Cotswolds. Great value. Five ***** stars!

  • Valerie was one of the best (Air)bnb hosts we ever had. Really kind and friendly. She gave us tips about the area and truly made us feel at home. The accomodation is clean and has everything you need. The breakfast was also very nice. We would gladly come again.

  • Val was fantastic, really warm and made me felt so welcomed. Not only was she a wonderful host, her family was so affable as well. Her home was clean, beautiful and lovely. The fact that her home isn't in Moreton itself was a huge plus for me as it was unadulterated by tourists and cars. And I must mention how awesome her breakfasts were, gets you ready to start the day exploring Cotswolds. Highly recommended!

    Alvin2017-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Valerie was extremely accommodating, we got a very warm welcome and a nice cup of tea to warm us up from the rain! It was great that Valerie knew the area so well and could recommend places to go for walks, local pubs, etc. Really comfy bed, and the breakfast in the morning was excellent! All round super stay, couldn't recommend it more highly! Thanks Valerie!
