Moss Landing Holiday Rentals

Just booked in Moss Landing

Brand new complete renovation of a historic tiny freestanding cottage in Moss Landing Harbor originally built in 1910. Located in the center of downtown historic village only a few steps from the beach and the galleries and restaurants. Whale watching and Elkhorn slough tours leave daily right next door in the harbor. Complete privacy and parking in this studio cottage, lockbox entry. Watch sea otters play from right outside the front door. Just 20 minutes to Santa Cruz or Monterey.
The studio cottage is perfect romantic, relaxing, tranquil little getaway and is very quiet, convenient and private in a central location to everything Moss has to offer. A complete renovation was just finished, new paint, brand new flooring installed with wall to wall radiant heating under the floor. Brand new kitchen, fixtures, sliding barn door, brand new shower with subway tile and carrara marble mosaic floor. New vanity, new toilet, all new lighting. The kitchen comes equipped with a brand new microwave and an induction burner and copper pots for cooking, mini fridge and sink. Coffee and organic teas are provided as well as a pour over coffee maker and tea kettle. The bed is a twin daybed that easily pulls out to be a king size bed with a very comfortable memory foam mattress. All luxury bedding, linens and towels are included. There is a new flatscreen tv with DirectTV premium cable as well as wifi internet. The cottage has a little private outside patio and with parking right in front. Dogs are ok to bring along! The house is conveniently located right next door to Phil's Snack Shack restaurant which opens daily at 7am and serves up delicious breakfast and lunch. World class surf spot located just steps from this cottage. Amazing kayaking adventures right out front in the endless nature preserves and sloughs and harbors of Moss Landing. The sea otters are very friendly and will probably try to jump in the kayak with you! Whale watching, nature hikes and the awesome beach bike trail along the picturesque slough and Salinas River State Beach. The owners have a tandem ocean kayak and a single rider ocean kayak with paddles, and 2 rusty old beach cruisers for you to borrow if you are the athletic type. The house has big beach towels and a beach blanket included for you to use while you are here. Bring your small dog! Small children ok too if they are small enough to share the king size bed with you. This cottage has a history of it's own! Built back in 1910, this was the original bait shop back when Highway One ran where Moss Landing Road is today. It was converted into a surfboard maker's shop back in the 1950's and 1960's. In the 1970's it was an art gallery, then antique store throughout the 1980's. It was the Moro Cojo Art gallery again in the 1990's and then converted into a small cottage for residence. Lots of history in these old redwood walls!
Moss Landing is a quaint, historic, sleepy place with an east coast, fishing village feel that you just don't see anywhere. It's like being transported through time into the early 1900's with the westerns facades on all the art galleries and restaurants. It's also home to 3 very famous, awesome restaurants, Phil's Fish Market, that is famous for it's cioppino and live nightly music of bluegrass and rock. Then we have the Whole Enchilada and the Haute Enchilada restaurants, 2 huge, beautiful restaurants with delicious food and cocktails. Our house is right next door! No need to uber from too many margaritas! Moss Landing is also home to a real thriving fishing community and scientist community with the Cal State University Moss landing Marine Laboratories and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute just a 2 minute walk from the house.
  • Small but luxurious. Very tastefully decorated and nicely appointed. Very conveniently located whether you want to kayak, whale watch or explore the coastline. The otters were right across the street and there are lots of good restaurants in walking distance. Jamie was a wonderful host. She immediately responded to all of our wants and needs while still giving us complete privacy. Highly recommend!!

  • Great location for a quiet getaway.

  • Great place close enough to walk to the beach.

  • Jamie and her family have freshly renovated a small studio to perfection. The little cottage is beautiful. It is clean, quiet, and easily accessible from the highway. They have truly done an outstanding job. I can't say enough about how beautifully they have done the cottage up, and how thoroughly they have considered the needs of their guests (towels, hot plates, cookware, etc). I would strongly recommend arriving in daylight if possible, as this will assist you greatly in finding the cottage. The outside is a lovely deep blue as described, which is most visible in the day. I would also highlight that as noted in the listing, Moss Landing is 20-30 minutes outside of downtown Carmel and approximately an hour away from Santa Cruz. This is best suited for those who are already roughly familiar with the area and not looking to extensively explore Carmel/etc. Moss Landing is quaint and not densely residential.

  • Thank you so much for a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. It was the perfect spot for my wife that is an avid wildlife and landscape photographer. Plus our little dog Zeke loved it too since he was able to go in and out as he pleased due to the baby gate you had provided. Thank you for tips about the dog friendly beach. Also we appreciated how quickly you responded before and during our stay to any questions we had. We hope to stay again the future.

  • This place is beautiful! Very unassuming. After a long day and a half of traveling and work, this gem was so comfortable. They thought of everything! Cool history to the place. And the interior is amazing. Loved the list of restaurants, etc. very helpful. Best part: the record player. Thanks for sharing your fave vinyls.

  • Perfect for a couple. Good location to Monterey and big sur. Had everything we needed and within walking distance to a beach.

  • What a great little find. A cosy little cottage close to everything you want to see in Moss Landing ie. otters, seals and whales. The cottage is warmly heated with beautiful decor and up market amenities all put together very tastefully. Jamie and her family provided us the utmost privacy yet were kindly offering tips and suggestions as were needed. Thanks so much for the hospitality Jamie. Highly recommended.

Welcome! As an artist, my home is my canvas. It is a two bedroom 1926 house with lots of space, comfortable sitting areas, big kitchen, and a shared roomy bathroom. In just a few minutes you can walk to the beach or enjoy one of five wonderful restaurants. I am often painting in or on my house, an art work in progress. My house will make you smile and forget your worries. Your room is an oasis with wifi and an excellent bed.
"You can never be sad here", said one recent visitor. My home is full of color and fun. It is homey and you will feel at peace here. There is a large backyard and deck. I am an artist and have a studio in the backyard. There is space for someone else to paint if studio time is requested. I have a little dog who is friendly but not annoying. I can accommodate one more dog - that is well behaved. There is wifi and a TV in the room. The room has a queen size bed with posturepedic mattress. The space is best for one or two guests. I have traveled a lot over the years as I worked internationally for 20 years. The rooms in my house are filled with interesting and colorful things to be enjoyed by the guests. There is color everywhere and it is a happy house. I will make every effort to make your stay comfortable. I will make coffee and tea in the mornings. My house was the first one in this residential section of Moss Landing. The rooms are spacious. There is a TV in the room where basic channels are available. I have a large deck and backyard where you can sit in the mornings for coffee on nice days -- or in the evenings for drinks. The neighborhood is quiet and a very quick walk to the beach. Guests are welcome to share the the living area. The dining table is in an alcove of the living room. It is a cozy and comfortable space with lots of light in every room. Even on grey days the sun shines in my house.
My neighborhood is unique. Moss Landing has a long history and once was a whaling station. Captain Moss sent provisions to the Gold Rush by barge from the harbor. You know you are here when you see the smoke stacks of the power plant. The stacks only produce steam and provide Moss Landing a special landmark. The neighbors are artists, fishermen, retired military, nurses, doctors, teachers and more. We treasure Moss Landing for its proximity to the ocean, the slough and its easy access to the local wildlife. Almost every neighbor, except me, owns a kayak. But you can rent them easily up the road. The Moss Landing Marine Lab is just a few blocks away. Young people from all over the world come here to study marine biology. MBARI is a research institute that is just on the other side of the bridge. The ocean here provides rich material for study, while the fishermen leave daily from the local harbor. There is a real mix of activity around the harbor every day. My house is the oldest house in the neighborhood. It was built in 1926 and moved here in 1952. My aunt and uncle produced the Castroville Times in the converted garage out back, which is now my studio. Moss Landing is home to creative people and provides inspiration to all travelers who pass through.
  • It was my best airbnb experience so far! Nancy's house is like a museum (except for that museums are usually boring, unlike her house): you can spend couple of hours just walking around and staring at the walls. Nancy was very welcoming, room is clean, bed is big and comfortable, no problems with parking, breakfast was yummy blah blah blah. Just go meet her in person, listen to her stories and take a look at her house - you'll never forget it.

    Mykolai2015-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome time at Nancy's house in Moss Landing. Nancy is the warmest and kindest host we have met via AirBnB. She invited us to pumpkin carving for Halloween, so we got to meet her neighbours, who baked us our very first pumpkin pie. The house itself is beautiful and everything you could wish for - clean, comfortable and well-equipped. However, the best thing was Nancy and Nefsie's company. If you're in the area - make sure you make Nancy's place your choice!

    Elspeth & James2013-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun place to be in! We had a wonderful time exploring Nancy's artistic expressions all over her happy home and festive garden. She's a lovely person and her dog Nefsie became my dog's best friend in an instant. Her place is so comfortable and walking distant to several restaurants. We love to come back.

    Angelica2014-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was very helpful with providing a place for both me and my dad to stay after coming off of a backpacking trip. She was warm and receptive, and was provided some wonderful suggestions for things to do in the area.

    Rosemary2015-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Nancy's place was delightful and super layed back. Nancy was out when we arrived but sent us instructions beforehand so we knew where everything was. We were greeted by her lovely dog and felt right at home. The house is absolutely amazing and even more beautiful than in the listing. We had a whale watching tour booked for early next morning so we unfortunately only had limited interaction with Nancy but she got up early and made us coffee. After a short conversation we left for the tour and Nancy even offered us extra jackets which we had not thought of - a real life saver. Nancy was super accommodating and also let us keep our bags at her place for a little longer so that we could enjoy the tour and not worry about our luggage. We would come back any time.

    Christian 2016-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was the perfect host from the moment we first enquired about the cottage. She was quick to respond to questions - and proactive about suggestions, advice and tips. The house is as charming as the pictures suggest. Nancy's dog Nefsie is also great company. The area is wonderfully peaceful and it is about a five minute walk to a wonderful, quiet beach to stroll along.

    Dan2015-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Nancy's art-filled house in an adorable little neighborhood. The location is perfect for hiking to the Salinas River State Beach and eating at all the wonderful restaurants in Moss Landing. Nancy will make you Moss Landing visit special.

    Ivy2014-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming lovely home. You will not get bored, there is so much to look at and she has pretty much painted or decorated floor to ceiling, inside and out. Her pup was so sweet and welcoming. We stayed one night and had our dog with us, which is a giant breed pup. Nancy was very generous in letting us stay with such a large dog. Her home is walking distance to the beach where we could let our dog run and play. We wish we had the opportunity to eat a Phil's Fish House, but we did eat at the Haute Enchilada which was a little pricy but great meal and atmosphere and the patio was perfect for us and our pet. For breakfast we went to the coffee shop next to the Whole Enchilada restaurant and the orange cranberry scone was amazing. We would highly recommend Nancys home. Just note she has a small full home with art and unless your pet is very well mannered don't bring your animal. We have trained ours and lucky for us it worked out well. We brought a dog bed for our pup and she had no problem being leashed to us the whole time. When walking the neighborhood her neighbors we very nice and welcoming as well. Thanks Nancy❤

  • It was a really good stay in this cute place. We felt like in a boat with lot of space. Lot's of advertisment around : kayak, wales boat tour and the beach is very close. We had the chance to meet Kim which is very nice. We recommend this place !

    Mathilde2016-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Kim and Luis are great people, generous and wonderful to know. At all times we felt welcomed and they were always attentive to any needs we may have had.

    Gregor2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts are absolutely wonderful . This place has SO much "personality "! I thought there would be more of a view than there was, but a 1 minute drive puts you at the head of the jetty. Being awakened by the sound of seagulls was just wonderful. This place is perfect for spending time in Big Suur Monterey, Santa Cruz, being centrally located. And the on site restaurant was an added bonus . I will definitely be back!!

    Robin2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Funky, good place that is equi-distant from Santa Cruz and Monterey. Great place to shack up for awhile.

    Alexander2017-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Conveniently located midway between Santa Cruz and Monterey, the bed and breakfast at Haute Enchilada is a cozy, private harbor refuge with a gracious host, comfortable amenities, and a whole lot of charm. The food at the namesake restaurant is also fantastic. The Pescado Cubano is an absolute must. I look forward to staying here again the next time I pass through Monterey Bay.

    Brandon2016-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Moss landing is a small/odd little corner between Monterey and Santa Cruz. We stayed there because it was the most "reasonable" price compared to Monterey or Carmel. We originally booked for my husband and our baby. I let Kim know. My brother ended up joining us (to accompany my husband on the drive up from LA). When I saw that Kim had stated on her listing no add'l charge for extra people, we were thrilled. They even had two extra twin beds in the living room so that was a relief! Regarding the place itself, you must realize that you are staying literally in a trailer with red brick foundation. It is located in one of the corners of their property. There is also a restaurant, a gallery and a cafe. It reminded me of a mix between the nautical room at the Madonna Inn and a scene from "The Life Aquatic" starring Bill Murray. The best part of Moss Landing is Phil's Fish Market. Otherwise it's a little rundown, remote, port town off hwy 1.

  • Kim & Luis were great hosts. We found the place cozy, enjoyable, and perfect for our weekend away. Kim was kind enough to leave give us a few suggestions for activities and restaurants. The location is great on it own, and also conveniently located a short drive from Watsonville, Carmel, and Monterey.

  • Our host was wonderful! She did everything we asked of her and more. Kim was very accommodating. Location for kayaking at Elkhorn Slough was excellent.

This first floor guestroom has large Queen Anne cottage-style windows, vaulted ceilings, and a queen bed decorated with a brass bed-frame. Contrasted with oak antiques, old-growth redwood trim, an original fireplace and chandelier.
Moss Landing is most noted as the gateway to Elkhorn Slough, one of the largest wetlands in the state. Elkhorn Slough is a precious resource and is always ranked in the top 10 best birding spots in the U.S according to the Audubon’s annual bird count. There is over 350 species of birds that migrate through the area annually. It is also known as one of the best spots in the world to view sea otters. The small fishing village of Moss Landing lies in the northern part of Monterey County and has numerous restaurants, galleries, a bed and breakfast, and is home port to over 600 fishing and pleasure boats.
  • Make sure you get the foot massage! I was in the historic home, and liked the decor. If I ever return I would love to stay in the river view rooms in the attached place. There was a nice sitting room, dining room with access to coffee/tea, and fruit and sparkling water. The outside had a patio facing the river, a cute fountain with two living turtles. When I checked in, i was encouraged to book ahead a nature safari on a pontoon boat that took folks way out on the slough to see sea otters and harbor seals. I am REALLY glad I booked it, and they gave me a small discount for staying at the inn. Ask to see the owners pig. So cute!!!!

  • The beach house was awesome! A group of our close friends and their children needed a place to get away and this was perfect. The beach was super close and the home was stocked with everything you would need. Bob was also nice enough to allow us to bring our pup who really enjoyed the backyard with the kids. Bob was there to meet us and show us the house and places we can go. We were just sad that our stay ended so quickly.

    Gloria2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This house was far bigger than I expected - two common spaces for relaxing besides the kitchen-dining room. Great for a family to stretch out! Owner supplied us with games since it rained a lot while we were there. Many cooking ingredients available (spices, etc). Great eating out near by!

  • This is a great house for a family vacation on the beach. We enjoyed our stay and Dick had the place clean and ready for our arrival. We also enjoyed the Pool and Jacuzzi. My Grandchildren ( 4 and 5) were able to play on the beach all day; we saw dolphins, otters and some whale spouts! The location is great - we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium our first day and Santa Cruz the second. Great stay! Thank you, Dick.

    Tracy2017-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Dick & Donna's home is awesome. As our family walked thur the front door, we were all taken away with the beautiful unobstrctive view of the ocean, waves rolling in and out and peaceful setting. My daughter arrived first and we arrived said " this home is perfect and more than we could have imagined".. So, I made a hit we my family!

    Carolyn2015-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible location: one morning I saw porpoises from the bedroom window, and walking out to the beach was wonderful. Dick and Donna were responsive and accomodated our early check-in request (though traveling with a newborn made our ETA wishful thinking).

    Megan2016-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • As my first airbnb experience, this was great. It was exactly the quality I expected from the description and other reviews. Everything was clean, kitchen was easy to cook in, nothing was missing. The beach was nice but cloudy while we were there. It was only a quick drive to sunny spots, though. It was quiet and the views were amazing.

    Erin2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our group of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. It was very clean, well stocked with dishes, and we even arrived to a Welcome bottle of wine. The location was very quiet and peaceful. You can't see the actual beach from the deck because of the dunes (which is important if you have smaller kids that will need to be supervised), but you can see the ocean and we watched the sun set both evenings. We also saw lots of sea animal activity during our stay - whales, dolphins and seals. The beach is a very short walk down a path over the dunes. Overall, we would definitely stay here again if we make another trip to Monterey. It is about a 20 minute drive to the Aquarium, Cannery Row, etc.

    Chere2015-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house is beautiful and we had a great experience there over the memorial day weekend. The house was exactly as described, had all amenities and was very comfortable. Dick and Donna had left a lovely bottle of wine for us - it was very unexpected and made us feel very welcome!

    Vinay2015-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the beach! Our kids loved walking on the beach even though it was too cold and windy to swim, it was fun to play in the sand and ocean. We were there during weekdays and it felt like our private beach! It really was gorgeous! We loved seeing bunnies hop around outside our window while drinking our coffee early in the morning, and at night after the kids were in bed it was so relaxing to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. The ocean view from the master bedroom was wonderful and we loved going to sleep listening to the waves! The only small downside was that the pool was pretty chilly to swim, even for the kids, but we did enjoy the hot tub. All in all, we really enjoyed our vacation and would love to return!

    Lea2016-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our trip between San Francisco and Los Angeles, had a tranquil stop in Monterey. The house is in perfect harmony with the dune and beach environment. Dick and Donna had made thoughtful efforts to inform us about arrival and stay in the house. We were a family of six, and felt immediately at home and welcomed. The property is close to the beach, we saw dolphins in the morning and in the evening. Be mindful that the location is some miles away from shops etc. Highly recommendable, and thank you for having us!

  • The beach house is beautiful with amazing views. It is very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook meals. The living room has lots of books and games for all ages. The bathrooms were well equipped with towels, extra supplies and amenities. The beach is a very short walk from the house. We enjoyed watching the dolphins and whales. Alison was great to work with and quick to answer questions. I highly recommend this property!

  • The home was beautiful and the perfect location right on the beach. Great place to unwind. A large home with well equipped kitchen. Greatly enjoyed our vacation.

  • Amazing place to stay!

  • Allison is a great host, and you will not be disappointed in this lovely home, which is placed in a beautiful setting. It is perfect for either a short, or long term restful get away! Allison will communicate promptly and often with you, and she has everything within the well stocked home marked and clearly identified. For a hassle free stay, I would highly recommend this place. I love Monterey Dunes!

  • Nice house, very clean, well located straight on the beach. The house is part of a private compound, which is nice and secure. Outside the compound and the beach, the surrounding environment is not particularly beautiful, mostly agricultural lands. You have to drive 30 min to get to Monterey and Carmel by the Sea. Overall, we enjoyed our time at Alison's house. It was definitively more pleasant than staying in an hotel nearby.

    Jean-François2016-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Alison's place! It is beautiful, clean and spacious. The photos and her description are accurate. The view is spectacular and the beds were comfy! Alison is a great host and quick with communication. Thank you!

  • This beach house was a dream come true. Right on the water with lots of natural light and spacious rooms. It has everything you need and the property is well cared for. We can't wait to go back. It made our vacation feel very luxurious.

    Alicia2016-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • This well appointed home is in a beautiful location offering both the feeling of a private get-away and the convenience of major tourist areas being a short drive away. Our group of five ladies looking for a place to catch up and enjoy the surroundings found everything we were looking for and more in this lovely home. We think Alison and her family do a wonderful job of making folks feel at home and offering amenities that make visitors feel like extended family rather than strangers. Thank you for a lovely and perfect weekend!

Sunset on Monterey Bay. The view from the deck and bedroom
  • We had a very nice time at Arthur's place. The location is grand. Steps away from the beach and powerful views of the Ocean. The beach is pristine and the walk south to the Old Salinas River and the thousands of sea birds living there was amazing. The house is nice and very convenient. The interior is a bit dated and some kitchen essentials were missing (no sugar for instance or pasta strainer). Arthur's place offers comfort, not luxury. But you don't go there for the house, you go for the great views and reconnecting with Nature.

    Olivier2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a hidden gem! So beautiful and private yet close enough to Monterey to drive (about 15-20 mins). We went to the aquarium, Pebble Beach, Big Sur and had a blast exploring the beach just steps away from the doorstep. My family of 6 (3 kids, 2 grandparents and myself) had plenty of room and the beds were so comfortable. We would definitely come back again!

    Mark2017-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We rented Arthur's place for our 3 days vacation in Monterey. The house is amazing, located on the dunes with beautiful ocean view. I was dreaming about such vacation. Very convenient location to all Monterey attractions. Thank you Arthur.

    Yelena2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Arthur was a great host, he communicated with us promptly when needed. His place was very peaceful and had a great ocean view. We loved the privacy and appreciated the gated community. We enjoyed waking up to the sound of the waves, having easy access to the beach and having our favorite drink while watching the sunset. I would definitely recommend his place to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay. You will not be disappointed.

    Evelyn2017-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to get away with family. Location is farther out from stores than I was expecting but so quiet and felt very safe! The 30 sec walk to the water and scenery was more than what I could have asked for. Will definitely be staying here again!

    Nichole2017-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our quiet time on the beach! Beautiful colony of condos in a very unexpected spot. Drive to Monterey was quick.

    Monica2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time. The location is close enough to Monterey, Santa Cruz and the other attractions to be convenient, but far enough away to be secluded and private. Fantastic ocean views, beach and a cozy home to boot!

    Ben2017-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • Arthur's appartment is oustandingly situated in a gated community right next to the dunes and a glorious sandy Beach on the Atlantic. You can ses the ocean from the house and hear the waves from one of the bedrooms. The house is very comfortable and well equipped for cooking.

  • It was absolutely beautiful and Angel was most accommodating. It was wonderful watching the chickens walking around the yard and I rather enjoyed watching the horse and cats as I was preparing and eating breakfast. A gem of natural beauty. Would definitely recommend if you're going to be in the Monterey or Carmel area!

    Sequora2017-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • The place is a bit hidden, off road and on a farm like community. We were welcomed with a personal chalk board sign at the door, which was really cute. This was our first time using Airbnb so we weren't sure what to expect and a little nervous. We both were extremely surprised on how quaint and clean the unit looked. It was modern with a cottage feel to it. The kitchen had stainless steel appliances with all the necessary kitchen accessories. Angel was so sweet to provide many complementary goodies and fresh eggs. The bathroom was elegant with modern fixtures, we especially liked the rain shower head. The backyard grounds were well kept with rolling hills and panoramic like views along with many flowers that welcomed lots of butterflies. My personal favorite was the bedroom, it had a romantic feel to it. Very zen like. The bed was huge with a goose-down comforter, nicely decorated and the sheets were elegant and remarkably soft. Would definitely revisit.

    Norma 2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little cabin tucked away against rolling hills and is in a very quiet location. The hot tub was an added bonus and we really enjoyed our stay here.

  • Angel is the most attentive, caring and nurturing host we've met in a long time. The cottage is even cuter than the photos ~ we loved the sauna, there's a small gym! WIFI connection was great, there was coffee & tea and fresh eggs. The place is immaculate, lovely decor, attention to detail everywhere. Plenty of luxury bedding and the bed is plush and comfy. Can't say enough about Angel's cottage. It was perfectly placed between Santa Cruz and Monterey, and we needed to be in both places, so were very grateful to find this sweet spot at such a reasonable rate compared to everything else ~ Thanks Angel!

    Mari2016-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoy the stay very much. It's quiet, private and clean. Tons of things to do here: set up bon fire, play with horse and cats, jump in to jacuzzi. We are welcomed with fresh eggs, drinks, tea and snacks . Very pretty scenery and will definitely come back again!

    hsuan fen2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Angel did a great job communicating and setting it up for us to enjoy seamlessly! The cottage is adorable and perfect for a short stay. The property surrounding the cottage is beautiful and serene -- an awesome place for a quiet getaway. If we're ever in Moss Landing again, we'd love to return to Angel's place!

    Amy2016-09-04T00:00:00Z

A great place for larger groups who want to visit the area. Close to Highway 1, my home is spacious and comfortable. Pool table, ping pong, Xbox, Netflix, movies...plenty to keep your group entertained. New beds, new couches, & more. Visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium? Ask how I can save you 50% on the admission.
Affordable Home, Centrally Located for Visitors QUICK OVERVIEW My house is ideally suited for larger groups. Plenty of things to do at the house, bbq, pool table, ping pong, Xbox Kinect. Great location for visiting Monterey and more. Well-behaved pets are welcome. As an owner, I’m pretty easy-going and flexible. If you’re interested, please keep reading. THE LONGER STORY… My house accommodates up to 8 comfortably (I've had a few groups even larger than that with some people sleeping on air beds. Keep in mind there is only one bathroom). Your house-broken pet is welcome to stay. I respond to most inquiries very quickly. Located in Castroville, a small working-class town of about 10,000 people, my home is just 3 miles from Moss Landing beach, and about 15 minutes from beautiful Monterey. Located very close to Highway 1 (but not so close you hear any noise), this is a great jumping off point to get away for quick trips to Monterey, Salinas, Big Sur, and Santa Cruz. (Personally, I love to kayak and hike at Elkhorn Slough, which is only 3 miles away). There are plenty of fun activities in the house including a pool table, ping pong, Xbox 360 with Kinect and games, dartboard, large flat-screen TV with a supply of DVDs you’re welcome to watch. There is a small yard and a driveway that kids can use for play. Speaking of kids, there’s a GREAT library one block away and a park/skate park/recreation center one block away. Just steps from the house, there is a mini-market, meat market, and a Mexican restaurant across the street if you don’t feel like cooking. If you do feel like cooking, I have all of the standards pots, pans, cooking machines, and utensils. If you want to cook, I can provide you a detailed list of everything I have that you can use. I have a bbq and you're welcome to borrow my cooler to take to the beach. The house enjoys plenty of semi-private parking (shared with my neighbor who doesn’t really use it) and, while it’s in a residential neighborhood, it is recessed from the street and other houses so it feels a bit more secluded. There are three bedrooms in the house. If you need it, two guests could sleep in the living room on an Aerobed (which I can lend you at no extra charge). Full use of the house includes: x Kitchen with gas stove, microwave and refrigerator. Cooks welcome! x Living/dining room x New laminate floor throughout kitchen/dining area, hallway and new carpet in bedrooms (finally got this done!) x Outdoor garden area with deck chairs x Bathroom: All linens and towels included x Garage with washer and dryer and room for your bicycle, golf clubs, surfboard or extra stuff. x Television in the living room with Xbox/DVD/Netflix. I have an HDMI cable which I can lend you for connecting your device to the TV. x Massage chair! x Keyboard, if you have any pianists who want to entertain Local Activities Monterey Bay Aquarium, beaches (one group said that the beach at Lover's Point is the best beach for kids that they've ever been to), Cannery Row, Fisherman’s Wharf, surfing, scuba diving, kayaking, bike riding, whale watching. Big Sur, Point Lobos hiking, Esalen, Wine tasting in Carmel Valley. Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay, Carmel, 17 Mile Drive, Santa Cruz (including the famous Beach Boardwalk). Weather: Summer is moderately warm and sunny (although we’re only one mile from the ocean, so sea breezes keep things temperate) Fall is our Indian Summer – our best weather. Note: check in/out times can be flexible, depending on other rentals and my schedule. Please ask if you need alternate check in/out times.
It's a working-class neighborhood in an agricultural town (Castroville - Artichoke Capital of the World). It's safe but don't expect Beverly Hills! Many guests have liked the "authentic" feeling to it. There are lots of Mexican markets within a few blocks walking distance. Personally, I like that.

  • Paul had been so reactive and flexible that organizing the stay at his house was a real pleasure. Extra sheets, extra towels, extra beds provided! The house is not that hard to find and Paul now makes sure to text you clear indications to find it so no worries about it.

    Francois2014-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at this house was amazing! I could not have asked for more, especially with a group of 5 people. The Xbox 360 with keenest and massage chair was the group favorite (once we found the power button). I loved the easy convenience to the freeway and the market around the corner. The rooms were clean and the beds we super comfy. I liked that paul tried to wait till we got there but we ended up getting there around 11PM. This house is the perfect get away with a big group of friends or a cheep place to say while exploring Monterey

  • Amazing

    Seven2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our experience with Paul and his home. His listing was accurate and he was very accommodating and pleasant to interact with. His home is an excellent choice for those traveling with children- our nieces and nephew enjoyed the ping ping, darts, and child appropriate video games. The open floor plan was excellent for our family gathering. The Aquarium passes were a bonus that saved us a lot of money and Paul was kind enough to meet us ahead of check-in to align with our aquarium plans. Should we travel to Monterey with family again, we will be contacting Paul.

    Elizabeth2015-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • Where do I start!? Paul was amazing. He is super communicative, accommodating, humble, gracious, respectful, fun loving, and all around a nice guy! The house is slightly off the beaten path and tucked behind a privacy fence which was nice being that the neighbors are very close. We were on a pretty tight budget for our trip we worked it out where Paul cut us a break on the price and stayed in a separate part of the house where he was not a disruption to us whatsoever. Not only was Paul all the things listed above but also a killer ping pong player! He has a GREAT table in his garage where we played till 1 or 2 in the morning. He taught me a thing or two while putting the smack down on me! Though he was so kind and insisted that he did not want to disturb us, we basically forced him to hang out with us and share the evening of drinking, eating and merriment. After leaving Paul's place and gaining a new friend, we would recommend to anyone to stay with him. I am realizing now that I should be writing a review on the house and not really Paul. . .The house is exactly as described and to be honest nothing special, but very functional. Comfy and cool during the day and cozy and warm at night. Very close to the highway which made getting in and out of town and breeze.

    Alexander2014-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • The good: This was a spacious 3-bedroom property, Paul was quick to respond to email and gave us discounted tickets to the Aquarium. The not-so-good: This is a fixer home, in what appeared to be the first stages of renovation. Many of the electrical outlets did not work and plugs fell out of them, 3 TVs but no channels available (we understood no cable TV but assumed we would be able to get some basic channels), no true wi-fi connection as you had to sit in the back bedroom to connect (probably via neighbour's connection), shower was hard to turn on as we had to practically wrench it from the wall, strange musty smell upon entering the property, etc. Overall, we felt very disappointed.

    Robert2014-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's house was clean when we arrived. Each bedroom was large enough for two two dog crates. It was a perfect place for 3 ladies and 6 agility dogs to stay. The house is just 20 minutes from Toro Regional Park and 10 minutes from Manzanita Park where the agility trials are. It was so nice to have a yard where the dogs could relax and play before and after each day's competition. More comfortable and much better price than any motel. And there was plenty of parking, too. We'll be back for the next agility trial if the house is available!

The pacific ocean is your backyard! Gated community with secluded beach. Panoramic view of majestic sun sinking into the vast ocean and waves pounding the sandy beach from right inside the house. 50-second walk across the sand dunes and you are on the beach. 20-minute drive to Monterey Bay Aquarium, 17-mile, Carmel-by-the-sea. Perfect place to relax, the epitome of a stress free environment with direct beach access. Upon request, we will provide 2 tickets to Monterey Bay Aquarium at no cost.
The pacific ocean is the backyard! Right from living room, dining room and master bedroom, enjoy the panoramic view of golden sun setting into the horizon on the vast pacific ocean, blue and green sea coming toward the beach waves after waves, whitewater rising and receding on the sandy beach. You'll enter the courtyard first, there is an outdoor dining table with marble top and a couple of chairs. Entering the house from the ground level, there are two master bedrooms. One of them has a Cal King bed and a sliding door facing the ocean. The 2 layers of Restoration Hardware curtains are both woven in the oldest and most venerable mill in Belgian. The bathroom has been remodeled with illuminated mirror and barrier-free marble shower. An over-sized 50-inch TV, Bose Wave Radio hooked up as TV speaker. Outside the sliding door, there is a deck that connects to a covered boardwalk through the sand dunes to the beach. The board walk is roughly 15 yards long and takes less than a minute to walk. The other master bedroom on the ground level has cordless honeycomb shades that let in light to brighten the room but maintain privacy. This room has an over-sized 50-inch TV and a Bose Wave Radio speaker. A few steps up to the mid level is the fully equipped Kitchen and dining area. The Kitchen has a 4 burner electric stove with oven, microwave oven, refrigerator, sink with a quiet garbage disposal. The dining area has a window and a sliding door. The window has a cordless solar shades that blocks out 90% of the UV but not the view. The sliding door opens to the mid level deck with stairs down to the boardwalk on the ground level. A few steps up to the upper level is the living room with 3 windows facing the ocean and that's the best view in the house and probably one of the best in the community. The 3 windows have cordless solar shades installed to block out 95% of UV but still allow you to enjoy the view, even when fully lowered. There is another small window on the side that can be opened to let in the sound of the waves and wind. On the upper level, there is another bedroom with 2 twin beds. This bedroom also has cordless honeycomb shade to let in light and to maintain privacy. Two of the windows provide view of the ocean and beach over neighbor's roof. There is a third full bathroom at the upper level. Video/audio entertainment system: TV in upper level living room and ground floor master bedrooms are set up with HBO, Showtime, Netflix, Hulu, CBS. Your laptop, tablets and cell phones can be displayed on the TV. Premium sound system delivers rich and life like music, can be the speaker for TV. Spotting scope pointing to the ocean, can also display on TV. The beds: All beds have remote controls to tailor firmness to your comfort level and one of the twin beds can lift head and foot sections. The four beds together costed roughly $10K when new.
This is a gated community right on the coast and is surrounded by farm land adjacent to high way 1. It is quiet, just you, your family, friends, the sand dunes, and the beach and the ocean, the sky, the moon, the stars, and the sun. Yet 5 minutes out of the gate, there are seafood, kayaking, whale watching trips. Monterey Bay Aquarium, historic Cannery Row, iconic Carmel-by-the-Sea, and the scenic 17 mile drive are all located within 20-30 minutes of drive. Experience award-winning restaurants, world famous golf courses (Pebble Beach, Spanish Bay, and more), art galleries, antique shops, wine tastings, and wildlife tours. See our guide book for a list.

  • We arrived early & Lisa was very nice, allowing us to check in right away. We (3 couples) were elated... easy check in, lovely, quiet & well-kept complex, and a beautiful home with the most amazing view. It exceeded our expectations. It was closer to the ocean than how it appeared in photos, and the beautiful dunes lie in between, very natural with plants of many colors, driftwood, & groundcovers. As you walk down the walkway to the beach (and yes, you can get to the beach in less than a minute) you can't help but admire the beauty all around you. The beach is endless in both directions, private & litter free but with shells, driftwood and occasionally a beachcomber or fisherman. The home is warm & friendly with a variety of spots to enjoy the view. You may build a fire, relax, read, play games, peer though the telescope, watch TV (which we never did) or socialize at the large table or on the deck. Lisa was thoughtful, leaving us wine & sparkling cider as a welcome gift, as well as a kitchen that was very well-stocked. Everything worked and there were no problems with anything. All the beds were extremely cozy and comfortable with bamboo sheets & a good mattress. Every one in our group loved the home, the view, the beach, the dunes, & the peacefulness of the area. Although it is a large gated community of townhouses, we saw very few people the entire time. We saw no dogs or children and it was very quiet, just the sound of the huge waves of the Pacific. We attended a wedding on Sunday & arrived back about 10 pm. Our check out was Monday am & we were very tired. I texted Lisa to request a later check out. She responded immediately and was so nice & extended our time to help us get more rest. We can't wait to go back and would recommend this lovely place to anyone who loves the ocean, the peacefulness, and a comfortable home. Our best wishes to Lisa. We will return and thank you for your kindness.

The condo is spacious, clean and kid-friendly with a gated courtyard and the 1 minute distance between sand and patio meant that our toddlers can play safely. Hidden beyond artichoke fields and Integrated into the beautiful natural, the condos offer ultimate privacy and access to miles of secluded beach. We enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub--2 minutes walk from the house. The farm stand nearby offered 12 baby artichokes, 7 corns or 10 avocados for 1 dollar--yes 1 dollar so our meals were yummy, healthy, fresh and cheap. Yes, my family and our friends will return to this treasure. This condo with beachside location, natural setting, kid friendly features, access to farms, access to the famous aquarium and gracious owner is the quintessential central California experience.

  • Renting an entire place with a kitchen definitely helps the budget and with such amazing views we really didn't want to eat out much! The entire place is stunning. Violet is a great host with prompt replies to any questions we had (:

  • This place was as described. The location is secluded and tranquil, even though it's in a fairly large gated community. The house is comfortable and literally steps from the ocean. The host was very communicative.

  • The home is large enough to allow loads of separate space while bringing everyone together by the kitchen, dining room and living room (where the fire place is located). The view out back is beautiful with amazing water views, dunes loaded with gorgeous plants and high surf!!! If you like privacy w/o total isolation and want be within steps of the water you have to check out this home.

  • Our stay at Monterey Whitewater2 Oceanfront Oasis was perfect. Inviting, quiet, and tucked away... exactly what we needed while traveling up the coast to San Francisco. It was a real treat to wake up oceanfront to the sounds of the sea. Violet answered all of my questions and was very communicative. I wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Val and her family were wonderful and communicative from start to finish. She and her husband made us feel welcome in their home and surprised us with a lovely dessert upon arrival. She had also decorated the room for Valentine's Day, which was very sweet. The new bed was very comfortable, the pillows were fluffy and the room had ample storage space. The bathroom was large and clean and just a few steps away. There was ample street parking, and the location was convenient to neighboring towns. Val is a very thoughtful host. She made us breakfast (oatmeal) and provided water and coffee for us in the morning. She had a lot of great suggestions on where to eat, where to visit and how to avoid traffic, which was much appreciated. Amazingly, we were also able to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium for free because of Val's membership! If you are looking for a comfortable room that is conveniently located to Monterey, Carmel, Santa Cruz, etc. and knowledgeable hosts, I would definitely recommend staying with Val and Ken.

    Michelle2015-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay with Val - it was a convenient stop between a number of great places along the coast and we even managed to see whales from the local beach. Val was a great host with a fully stocked fridge and a nice morning spread of oatmeal and fruit. She had bathroom products (shampoo, body wash, etc) to share and the room was large and comfortable for two. Her dogs are friendly but generally kept to themselves, so not an issue. Val helped us find spots for dinner and hiking, so make sure to ask for her help if you need it.

    Dominic2014-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • A great find! Val was a lovely hostess. She gave us lots of tips around the area and more. Going to the aquarium was fantastic. Adorable pets, a warm environment, and a clean house, what more could we ask for?

  • Very clean house and Val was enjoyable and had great suggestions on where to eat and go!

This 3 bedroom 2.5 bathroom 2 story condo is located in Pajaro Dunes, on the Monterey Bay. Nicely decorated comfortable furnishing. Fully furnished, king bed in master bedroom with ocean view, 2 twin beds in third bedroom, queen bed in down bdrm
  • Brandelia was a great host, the location is close to the beach... the unit appears to be a bit outdated. Pelican 26 had several window leaks related to the storm over the weekend, so Brandelia quickly found a lovely alternate unit for our young family to stay in. Pajaro Dunes is quiet relaxing getaway.

    Kristin2017-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • The property was just as it looked online. We reserved two condos (34 & 26) for six couples and unit 34 had plenty of room for us to enjoy all meals together. The beach right there was awesome and a beautiful walk. A really beautiful property in Watsonville, a hidden gem!

    Cindy A2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • I've rented a condo or townhouse several times now at Pajaro Dunes and communication and responsiveness to my questions with Brandelia has always been 10 out of 10! It definitely has helped make our vacations at Pajaro Dunes more enjoyable.

    Kirsten2017-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • What I loved about the place was how close it was to the beach. It was just a step away! I was greeted with milk, orange juice and fresh strawberries from Brandelia which was very welcoming. The house had everything that we needed to feel right at home. Lastly, I felt so safe being in a gated community area where those wanted to enter needed to check in with the front desk. That was the cherry on top!

    Cheyenne2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend in a clean, spacious, and well furnished condo. Pelican 26 is a ground floor unit with a patio door that open to the boardwalk along the dunes, so beach access was easy! Plus we appreciate that the kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils and equipment that we needed. The beds were clean and as a two-story unit it was perfect for our extended-family vacation. There are more amenities and features to this unit than the description lets on - we were thrilled to find so many nice to have's, such as a barbecue, washer and dryer, Wi-Fi, etc.

    Adelina2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Pelican 26, Pajaro Dunes over the labor day weekend. The condo was right next to the beach and the windows look out to the dunes and a slough with lots of birds. Brandelia was responsive and helpful, and even left us strawberries and orange juice to make us feel welcome. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

This is a family vacation condo, in the Pajaro Dunes Resort. We have just decided to start renting it a bit. It is a spacious top floor unit, with great sunset views of the beach. The Pajaro Dunes beach is large and fun, you can walk for hours on the sand, and sometimes see dolphins or otters in the waves. The resort is ideally located for day trips into Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Pacific Grove, or even Big Sur.
This condo has a living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and dining area on the main floor. The first bedroom has a full bed, the second has two singles. In between these two rooms, off the hall, is a bathroom. Downstairs is a large room with 2 daybeds, each of which has a pull out trundle bed underneath, for a total of 4 beds. There is a full bathroom off of this room.
The Pajaro Valley is a lovely place to visit on it's own merits. We love hiking at Mount Madonna Park, apple picking or buying a pie at Gzdisch Ranch orchard, and of course walking on the beach, building sandcastles, surfing, or boogie boarding right in front of the condo. Just north are the Beach towns of Capitola and Santa Cruz, and south are Monterey, with its wonderful aquarium, and the charming town of Carmel.
  • It was a great location to spend 5 days at the beach with our grandkids. The condo was reasonably sized overall. However some amenities were some what out dated.

    Angeles2017-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Location location location! This condo was away from the hustle and bustle of the California coast and just what we were looking for! We were in town for a soccer tournament which was only 20 minutes away, & downtown Watsonville was a quick 10 minutes. The layout was perfect for our family of 5. Our girls all slept downstairs and enjoyed having their own space with a tv. Ocean views from the condo and porch were spectacular. The beach was very private and we rarely shared miles of sand with more than a handful of people. It was loaded with shells which kept the girls entertained. Check in and out was very simple and streamlined. Fun fun weekend that we hope to repeat soon. =)

  • The place was great would stay there again!

    Rich2017-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • This location was so perfect for us. We were able to kick back and relax while enjoying the spectacular sweeping views of the ocean, the waves, the variety of birds and the full moon! The place was very homey, comfortable and had everything there we needed to completely enjoy our visit to the Dunes! I would highly recommend Kirsten's place to everyone and their families. We had a 2.5 year old who had a wonderful time with no stress to any of us watching her :) I would love to do this again soon!

    Robin2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Host was helpful and courteous.

  • What a lovely beach house. Clean, friendly, gorgeous.

    James2017-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsten was responsive and easy to work with. We had a great family gathering and really enjoyed the proximity to the beach. Her place was clean and tidy. The decor is a bit dated but it sort of fits the shabby chic vibe being by the beach. A few key items were missing like kitchen tongs and a corkscrew, which we bought and left as a gift for future guests. The door to the laundry area broke during our stay and Kirsten rightfully did not charge us for the repair. Overall I definitely recommend Kirsten and her cozy beach pad.

    Spencer2017-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our long weekend stay in Pajaro Dunes. The location is superb, right on the river and the beach, and the fresh sea air was a welcome change. The home is very comfortable, nicely furnished and decorated. We enjoyed fresh fish everyday from the nearby fish market in Moss Landing. The walks on the beach were leisurely and not crowded. Every evening we enjoyed watching the sunset from the sitting room window. It would be good to schedule your dinner times so as not to miss the display as we had to interrupt our dinner on the first night watch the sunset over the sea. We found most of what we needed in the kitchen except perhaps a small paring knife for peeling the oranges we purchased in bulk at the nearby produce market. It is a very comfortable home and we had a wonderful time together with friends.

  • Pelican Point Building A condo 6. We secured Betty's 2 level condo for a non profit Board of Directors' 3 day Planning Retreat. embers flew in from around the country for this event which was to be mostly inside, working together long hours. Greats: Fantastic views of Monterey Bay and the Pacific, fairly remote from distractions, enough room for all 5 to have separate rooms, sharing 3 bathrooms. Beds were pretty comfortable. The main room space was large enough to meet all together or to break out into smaller groups. Easy drive fun and good food like Phils Fish Market, Moss Landing; Crows Nest, Santa Cruz; beaches; antiques, etc Dislikes: leaky faucets (3), lights/fan not working in master bath (safety), other lights/outlets nonoperative & no access to circuit breakers. Sink disposal unit broken. Cable Internet (owner's router) erratic, unreliable. Issues with back door and screen.Better maintenance & cleaning needed.

  • Location and property details just as described by host. Beach access was excellent and the Resort itself was safe, clean and inviting. The house served as a good base for day trips to nearby Monterrey, Santa Cruz etc. Since the resort is a bit away (10-15 min each way) from a grocery store, I would advise stocking up as necessary, especially for breakfast. Del was excellent at communicating via text and email. We didn't have any issues during our stay and enjoyed the amenities. House has own high speed WiFi, decent TV channel options, Netflix etc - so it kept some in our lot contended, especially when it was too chilly to step outside.

  • This was easily one of our favorite Airbnb weekends ever, and we've had many! This property is very unique with stunning design and antiques. The space is very airy, spacious, and filled with light. With 40 acres of greenery, it is an incredibly restful, peaceful place. Marc welcomed us so warmly even though we arrived very late on a Friday. He was so accommodating, staying up late to greet us and offering us some wine when we arrived. The guest cottage was filled with fresh flowers, fresh fruit from the farmer's market, lovely chocolate, and a lavender sachet from their garden. We normally keep to ourselves when we rent on Airbnb but Marc and his whole family were such wonderful people that we ended up spending a great deal of time with them and loves it. Breakfast was delicious: fresh squeezed OJ, organic fruit from the farmer's market, and homemade breads and jams just to name a few items. We can't wait to go back.

    Seema2015-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Marc is an amazing host, and he seems to really enjoy having people stay at his Air Bnb. He's very friendly, and his property is very unique and quiet, yet not too far from Santa Cruz, Monterey etc.

    Rye2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Marc was the ultimate host. He greeted us with a smile and fresh fruit from the farmers market. What a treat! He gave us a tour of the lovey guest house and provided researched answers to the questions I had about events in the local area. We were treated to wonderful breakfasts each day of our stay and enjoyed great conversations in the evening when we had returned from our sight seeing. We felt as if we were staying with an old friend and will certainly visit again when we are in the area. The area is very quiet and tranquil, perfect for a much needed getaway to recharge. The grounds are well kept and there are amazing plants in the gardens and all around. The space is decorated with beautiful paintings and other pieces of art that create a warm and rich environment. I cannot recommend Marc enough.

    Paul2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Marc's estate has a beautiful garden filled with interesting statues and artifacts, little surprises are hidden in nooks and crannies. The guest quarters are filled with antiques from all around the world. Marc and his family are wonderful hosts, breakfast was an array of berries and other seasonal fruits followed by bacon and eggs or omelette. Marc and his family made us feel very welcome and we really enjoyed chatting with him, his family and other guests while watching the sunset from the patio while the night owl hooted and far away coyotes called.....

    Jane2017-05-29T00:00:00Z
  • The property is nothing short of spectacular. Both the view and the company are extraordinary. This is one of the most peaceful and beautiful weekend getaways I know of.

    Timothée2017-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Recently I was fortunate enough to be a guest at this amazing estate. The property is neatly manicured to perfection and the accommodations spectacular. I don’t know all of the history on the property but the creator was an incredible architect and decorator. I felt as I stepped back in time to a Tuscan villa. The host was courteous, gracious and friendly. The fresh food and fine wine was not expected but definitely appreciated. We had great conversations and witnessed a sunset that was out of this world. One could walk the grounds all day and continually be fascinated by new things. The level of time and effort it must have taken to build an estate such as this simply blows my mind.

    James2015-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely fantastic! Great host, great property, incredible hospitality and attention to detail. We were greeted warmly, treated like family and enjoyed our time with Marc and his family. Highly recommended. My best experience of any stay including some of the best hotels in the world that I have visited. Marc's personal touch and worldly experiences are evident in the magnificent collection of artifacts, sculptures and art work that grace his property. I can't wait for my next visit.

    alain2016-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • This oasis is truly a paradise. The architecture and sculpture in the garden make you feel like you’ve been transported to Bali. Every room is covered in art work in the form of paintings, sculpture, and decorative tables and doors. The beautiful calm and peaceful ambience make you feel as though you could be staying at a retreat center or an art museum. We were warmly welcomed by Marc, who showed us amazing hospitality and generosity. In the mornings we were treated with delicious provisions from the local farmer’s market including farm-fresh eggs, bread, berries, and juice. In the evenings, we drank delicious wine and chatted with our host as the sun set over the slough. We also chose to be active during the days and this area makes a great home base to explore the coast. One day we went paddle-boarding while our friends kayaked on Elkhorn slough, where we got to see tons of birds, otters, and seals. The slough is easily accessible from a public dock at the local Kirby park just two minutes down the road. Interestingly enough, some of Kirby’s original architecture can be seen on Marc’s property. The next day we drove south to Fort Ord and went cycling along the coast down to Lover’s point and back.

  • Our stay was absolutely incredible. We were welcomed with open arms by Sean and his family. They even put a birthday candle in a cupcake knowing that our weekend trip was a birthday celebration. The house is exactly as pictured, except the pictures don't properly illustrate just how much space there is. We spent almost more time outside as we did in. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked many meals during our stayed that were enjoyed both in the dining room and on the beautiful deck. We spent the afternoons walking through the fields and exploring the nearby Monterey area. Sean even allowed us to check out a bit late because we were enjoying playing games in the sunshine so much. My friends and I will definitely return if we come back to the area. Thanks Pezzini family!

  • We needed a place to stay for a wedding in nearby Monterey. This house on the farm was perfect for a family traveling with an infant. We only wish the weather was warmer to enjoy the hot tub and patio outside.

  • We really enjoyed the decor and the great outdoor living spaces. Sean was attentive and friendly. The kitchen was well stocked and being next to market was nice. We would definitely recommend this place as a home base for exploring the Monterey area.

  • A beautiful house and yard. We had 8 people for a bachelorette weekend centered around hiking in Big Sur and this was the perfect place to relax, cook, snooze and toast the bride. The interiors of the house are very tasteful and the hosts include lots of thoughtful touches. The outdoor space is gorgeous overlooking the fields. Although they are on the premises in an attached unit we never saw them -- they made it a very private experience. We also preordered a bunch of produce and LOTS of artichokes from the farm from Sean. Was delicious and fun to eat real farm-fresh for the weekend! Kitchen is well-equipped. Sean was great with all the communication! We had a wonderful time.

This building was once the office for the Pacific Coast Steamship Company. Each room is decorated in period-piece antiques with a nautical touch. There are 4 rooms in our Historic House. Three of them located on the upper level, the fourth room is on the lower level and is wheelchair accessible

Nestled on a forested hillside, just minutes from the gorgeous Elkhorn Slough & Moss Landing. It's midway (23 miles/37km) between the Monterey Peninsula and Santa Cruz, this is the place to come for an amazing getaway to the Monterey Bay area.
Please READ THE ENTIRE listing before making a reservation! The unit is not childproofed for children under 5 years old. It's a tiny, open floor plan, detached studio apartment. And by open, that means NO DOORS (except the front door) to the bedroom or the bathroom. The bathroom has a privacy curtain and it is tucked around a corner. It has a full fridge, two electric burners, sink, microwave, toaster oven, plus many kitchen essentials. Sleeping arrangements are a DOUBLE BED and a QUEEN SOFA SLEEPER (it is technically several inches smaller than a normal queen bed, but bigger than a double). Please understand bed sizes and make sure they will accommodate you. There is an HDTV that gets a number of local channels, plus a DVD player with a selection of DVDs, and there is WIFI. There isn't air conditioning, but we don't need it as the cool coastal temperatures keeps us comfy! This unit is located behind the main home. It is a detached unit and up several stairs, which provides nice privacy. The host family lives in the main house, so you may hear exuberant children from time to time if you're around during the day.
It's a great scenic, RURAL location, yet not far from the amazing places of Monterey Bay. The entrance to Elkhorn Slough Reserve is less than three miles from here and well worth a visit (closed on Mondays & Tuesdays). It's perfect for birding, kayaking, walking, and seeing our famous sea otters! Moss Landing is just a bit further, which offers great options for dining, antiques, galleries, fishing, whale watching, kayaking, surfing, and stand-up paddle boarding. Then, of course, there is Monterey and Santa Cruz, just 23 miles (37 km) in either direction, and both Monterey and Santa Cruz counties have excellent wineries! While staying in our studio, you will probably hear dogs barking, roosters crowing, and coyotes howling (which often gets the barking dogs howling).
  • Communication with Eileen was always prompt and easy, and check-in/check-out were seamless. My daughter and I spent 3 peaceful nights in the cottage. The place was clean, quiet and had everything we needed for a restful and relaxing stay. The bed and bedding were super comfy and nice, and the bath linens were also a good quality. We appreciated the bottle of water, snacks and teas that were left for us. Morning tea on the deck was very serene, with visits from a sweet grey kitty. I arrived the first night after dark, and just be aware - the country roads are a bit curvy and very dark, so don't be in a hurry! The place wasn't hard to find; just follow the directions in the manual, and you're good to go. There's no cable available in the area, so you only get broadcast TV, but there is a nice DVD player and some movies to choose from, plus the Wifi worked reliably well. I loved how close we were to Elkhorn Slough and Moss Landing, which are not to be missed! I highly recommend this location if you like a quiet, secluded location and aren't looking to stay right by the beach. I would definitely stay here again in the future and can confidently recommend it to others!

  • We had a very pleasant trip and visit to Eileen's studio. It is in a quiet and natural setting, convenient to Moss Landing. We spent the weekend at the Aquarium, kayaking, and enjoying dinner in Moss Landing and the studio helped with all of it. Had a great time!

  • What a charming place to stay! We arrived in the evening after driving for 13 hours. It was a cozy place to land and became our home base for a couple days. We were able to easily explore Moss Landing, Monterey and Carmel (didn't make it to Santa Cruz) and enjoyed coming back in the evening. It has a small cottage feel which we just loved. Wish we had more time to relax and enjoy the sunny deck outside. Everything is just as she described it. We have two daughters (12,15) and we were all comfortable there. It was very clean. We would stay again if we get the chance to make it back this way!

    Elizabeth2015-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great cozy little place to stay and cook at. The place maybe a bit open but for a couple it's a great place. The surrounding area is very quiet, but there is a Safeway about 10min drive away. Appliances were in good condition, there is a 2 pot table top stove, a bit under power to cook a steak but it'll cook it. The bathroom didn't have a door but a curtain if you don't mind the privacy. There isn't much to do around the area but this place is between Monterey bay and Santa Cruz, so there are lots of things to do. Over all the experiences and feel of this place is a nice weekend get away. I don't mind renting this place again if I need a place to stay in the area again. Also the host was great and very friendly, ask or call she will be there. Thanks Eileen.

  • Eileen provided such a cute studio behind her home. It is a great place to relax and get away, especially since it's located in a quite area away from the city. The studio was clean and had a nice size kitchen and bathroom. Thank you Eileen.

Paradise in the country. We are offering a large spacious bedroom with recessed lighting and large skylight. This bedroom does have it's own access if so desired. The room is furnished with a new queen size bed and also has wall mounted flat screen TV with dish network. It should be mentioned that we are a household of professional gay men that love meet new people. The house is centrally located with travel times of only 25min from monterey, santa cruz and 45min to san jose.
  • Wayne was great host. Friendly and great hospitality gave us towels toothbrushes and soap. Room was clean and cute. Would recommend 10/10

  • I loved this stay! Everyone in the home was incredibly kind and more than accommodating. The room and the property was absolutely gorgeous! I had so much fun exploring all of the birds and waking up to the sound of exotic birds is like waking up in a tropical rainforest. If you are not a fan of birds, this is not the place for you. There are a lot of exotic birds birds on the property, but, personally, waking up gently to the sound of birds was extremely peaceful. Overall, this was a wonderful experience in a central location. 25 minutes to Monterey or Santa Cruz. If I'm in the area again, I'll definitely be staying with Wayde again.

Remodeled 2nd level full ocean front condo is located in Pajaro Dunes a private, gated community midway between Santa Cruz and Monterey, just a few steps from a quiet immaculate beach. The condo is perfect for those wanting to ‘get away from it all’. It also meets the needs of those who want to be more active because of its proximity to the attractions of Monterey Bay and Santa Cruz; e.g. whale watching, surfing, kayaking, wine tasting, gourmet dining and visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
The second floor allows full enjoyment, with no obstruction from dunes or grasses, as with some units. Pelican 37 juts out, affording privacy from the neighboring units, which are recessed to our right and left. Because the condo's location is at the end of the Point, the beach is often without another person in sight, except for early morning walkers along the shore. Pajaro Dunes has on site staff available 24 hours as well as an on site fire department.
Pelican Point is located within the unique coastal environment of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary where the Pajaro River meets the Pacific Ocean. Relax to the sounds of the ocean and watch pelicans, sandpipers, otters and dolphins; search for sand dollars and seashells or go for long walks on the pristine beach.
  • Jane was a wonderful host, checking in as soon as we arrived, leaving a kite for the kids even! The beach locker has everything that you need, I overpacked beach chairs, umbrella, etc--there are beach towels and everything else that you need. One thing that you may want to bring is a portable metal fire pit and wood if you want to have a fire on the beach--it was a holiday weekend, and many families were doing so. I went to Home Depot to get one :)

    Amanda2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Jane's beach condo for three nights in June-July. This place is amazing! The photos of the condo on airbnb does not do it justice as it is even nicer in reality. It was very clean and organized, with quality finishes all over and great sheets and towels. The view over the beach from the living room and balcony is uninterrupted and impressive. Jane was very responsive and kept us informed of activities and things to do around the area. There are clear instructions available in the condo as well. Check in was easy as there is a 24h gate house where you pick up they keys. We will definitely return!

Along with being a beautiful place to stay, working with Jason & Leigh Ann was as easy as we hoped it would be. Easy communication and quick with responses and answers to our questions.

  • What a wonderful place!! Jason & Leigh Ann have thought of everything to make sure it feels like you're at home... but better!! The location is awesome. It's gated and staffed 24hrs. The condo itself was easy to find. The area was clean, wonderfully manicured and had plenty of parking. The carts in the parking area came in very handy and made it an easy walk to the front door with all our belongings. The inside of the condo is amazingly decorated. Just like the pictures! It was clean and fully stocked with everything you'd need. The condo in conveniently located on the bottom floor with the back sliding doors opening to an open patio, the ocean breeze, amazing sunsets and it's only steps away to what felt like its own private beach! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for the perfect beach getaway.
