“Want to sit outside after you've walked the Abel Tasman National Park, or just feel like soaking up the atmosphere of the Fat Tui environment? The best hamburgers in town - possibly the South Island, right at your doorstep. Relax while the team in the outdoor caravan put your burger together for you, on one of the outside barbecue tables. Absolutely worth the wait, which can be quite a while in the middle of the high season, but can be filled in with a stroll along the beach at Marahau.”

Motel
“The Moutere Inn, New Zealand's oldest pub (est. 1850), is only 7 minutes’ drive away. Their chef prepares very good food and it has lovely outdoor seating overlooking the mountains. You can read all about the history, and the family who built the Inn on the walls. There are plenty of interesting brews on tap, including their own. All the wines are sourced within a 10 km radius. They also serve the refreshing Peckham's cider, which is made on Neudorf Road near Hawkridge. The perfect drink for those year-round beautiful sunny days for which the upper South Island is so well known. (No cellar door service so this is a great place to sample it!) ”
