We are 2 minutes from Uki, and 8 minutes from Mt Warning our bungalow is a perfect getaway for you to explore the beautiful Tweed Valley. We include a wide selection of breakfast goodies. Have a swim after your climb, relax and enjoy the birds & wildlife. Festival patrons please note, North Byron Parkland (Splendour in the Grass,Falls Festival etc.) is 25 minutes south of us and Belongil Fields is a further 10 minutes on.
Uki is a freindly, unique village at the foot hills of MT Warning. Murrwillumbah Art Gallery (featuring the permanent Margret Olley exhibition) is 15 minutes away. Byron Bay and the Gold Coast airport are both 45 minutes drive. Uki has a farmers market on Saturday mornings. There is a good range of fruit and vegetables, beautiful locally made sour dough breads, great cheese cakes, Thai food and morning tea and often a local cheese maker. The village market is held on the third Sunday of the month, lots of bargains, great music and delicious market food. The Uki pub has now re opened and features local musicians on Sunday afternoons and of course counter lunches and dinner every night. The" go to coffee shop" is at the Post Office open from 6.30 am, get the paper and say hello to Gary and the girls. There are also 2 cafes. There is a well stocked general store, take-a-way and the famous Uki Pie shop. Uki Antique and Vintage is an "Aladins' cave" of treasures and bargains.
  • Laura & Malcolm were the perfect hosts! Thankyou for a lovely stay... every need was seen to. Our morning breakfast pantry & fridge was so well thought out and delicious! The bed was luxurious and oh so comfortable... the cottage is in such pretty peaceful surroundings with an amazing variety of birdlife. Its clean and cozy with gorgeous views. There were plenty of yummy cafes and little unique towns all within half hour of 'pecan place'. We stayed 4 nights and could have stayed 4 more! Laura was a great help when it came to places to eat and visit in the area and every one of her recommendations were spot on... we had plenty of privacy and really enjoyed our evenings on the deck with them. This lil place was the perfect getaway and lived up to all our expectations... Thankyou Laura!

  • Laura's place was fantastic, complete with lots of goodies for breakfast and lunch including fruits and pancake mixes. The location is great for a drive to Mount Warning, with the view from the lookout of the house being very beautiful at sunset. Laura and her husband were very accommodating and provided us with everything we needed for a perfect stay. :)

    Daniella2017-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Everything from the private breakfast spot out the back to the viewing platform to watch the sunset behind Mount Warning with the company of Laura and Mal was superb! We had a fantastic time exploring such a beautiful part of the country and are seriously contemplating how we can move to Uki! Laura's advice was spot on; hiking tips, local hang outs, best coffee and markets...she knew it all. And the breakfast layout was delicious. We will be back. Thanks so much for hosting us.

    Hayley2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was absolutely fantastic! Laura and Mal thought of everything from the delicious breakfast options, the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular views of Mt. Warning from the deck and all the additional comforts we could hope for. We would recommend Pecan Place to anyone and can't wait to stay again.

  • We absolutely loved our stay at Pecan Place. The accommodation is beautiful, I felt really at home and the bed is amazingly comfortable. Laura and Mel were great hosts. There were lots of yummy treats provided and we were made welcome with use of their viewing deck and outdoor fireplace. We hope to be back next year. Thanks again Laura :)

  • Welcome was magic

    Gill2016-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The house was beautifully appointed, much bigger than we expected. The location was perfect and we enjoyed the best views of mount Warning from the viewing deck. Laura was incredibly welcoming, gave us recommendations and was very helpful with everything.

    Raimundo2018-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • Laura and Mel have great level of empathy, in other words they are able to be a great company to you or let you spent you the time on your own. The guest house just can not be better - designed, built and furnished with taste and love. The place is absolutely glorious. Hope to visit this place again.

This very comfortable home has the room to move, very spacious on acreage. Nothing small here, I make sure that everything is spotlessly clean and comfortable for your stay. You will get the wow factor on your arrival. Nestled on a beautiful hill on acreage, spectacular gardens and breakfast provided, free range eggs, bread, butter, milk, tea, coffee, etc, I have made this oasis value for all my guests, refreshing in a world of overpricing, looking forward to your arrival
This home is completely private with all facilities including spa with views to Mt Warning set on acreage. Two master bedrooms are very large and comfortable, surrounded with verandas for shade and deck chairs to enjoy the gardens. Sleeping is guaranteed with the peace and quiet. There is so much to see in the Tweed Valley, you will have to choose wisely, Art Gallery, Natural Arch, Mt Warning, Border ranges, Cafes, Beaches, or just be still in the forest, this area is world heritage, a plethora of beauty.
We are very lucky to live in an exquisite valley with open spaces and friendly people. The area is as quiet as can be, the only noise you will hear is nature making its song.
  • Carol's place is a great value and comfortable place from which to explore a stunning area. The view of Mount Warning is lovely to wake up to! Carol was warm, welcoming and easy to communicate with, we'd highly recommend this place

    Alice2017-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location and Carol was nice. Accomodation was a little tired and the girls didn’t like the 2 huntsmans I had to dispatch.

    Greg2018-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, wonderful views and nice garden. Don't expect good breakfast supplies though. The house is not soundproof as described in the listing, we received a very rude text message after our first night telling us that we had woken her with two bangs. There was a bank at around 1.30am as I went to get an extra blanket from the spare room and the door was swollen when I tried to shut it again, she banged on our ceiling and then sent the text next day.

    Pamela2017-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Carol. Amazing host and so many extras that made our stay so easy and comfortable. Loved to see the wildlife in your gorgeous garden and to relax wi th the magnificent view of the mountain. Thank you.

    Caz2017-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location is great but that is about the only thing. I have asthma and the place was very damp and smelly. Spider webs surrounding windows, gardens are a mess. We couldn’t wait to leave. To think that I paid $380 for 2 nights is very expensive for what this place offers.

    Clare2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Carol's place was just what we were looking for. So close to town yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet and take in the stunning view. Carol was a wonderful host ensuring she met us on arrival but then letting us be for the rest of our time there. Would definitely stay again!

    Nelson2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible view in a lovely garden my children loved exploring. Carol was very friendly and a great communicator.

    Kristin2017-07-10T00:00:00Z
  • Carol is a enthusiastic, warm and welcoming host. Her house is ideally arranged for a family to stay in complete privacy but with her contactable upstairs when needed. The sound of bird song every morning was a delight. The view to the mountain from the house is truly magnificent with the local shops and cafes of the village only a few minutes walk away down the hill. If you are wanting a safe, relaxing holiday in the region Carol's place in Uki is THE place to stay!

  • Such a great weekend! It was so easy to find, very comfortable and a fantastic experience. I have already recommended the place to heaps of friends.

  • great accommodation 5 mins to uki village, outdoor shower was beautiful, the yurt was well equipped and alonna was super helpful with local tips. will be back!

    Conrad2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much Jesse and Alonna. The yurt is absolutely beautiful and exceeded all our expectations. The hospitality, the amenities, the welcome basket, were all so lovely. The shower was magnificent. The location so peaceful. Your quick communication and understanding of our change of circumstances very much appreciated. You were wonderful hosts with a spectacular property. Many many thanks.

    Vicki2018-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely gorgeous property, but I would NOT recommend it at all in winter. It is bitterly cold and there is no heating at all, and a very limited solar power supply that cuts out frequently just using a phone charger. theyre building a fire place. I dont believe it should be rented until they've completed this. It would no doubt be fabulous after it has heating :)

    Elly & Josh2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • We spent 2 nights at the yurt and wish we had booked for longer. It is such a special home with many thoughtful touches throughout. I was particularly impressed by the kitchen facilities and the beautiful outdoor shower. A perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.

Situated less than 10 minutes from the Mt Warning walk and Murwillumbah village.
  • What a perfect off grid get away. Escape from it all. I had a wonderful time and Michelle is a wonderful host. Great property. Perfect location.

    Lisa2018-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The river hut was such a cute and cosy place to relax in after a day of hiking. We loved being able to take a nap with the windows open, and waking up to have a BBQ dinner with the scenic view. The compostable toilet was very clean and well maintained, and that shower was GREAT!!!l If we are ever back in the area we will definitely be booking again.

    Madi2018-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, cosy and pretty little light filled cottage in a magical position, with lots of privacy. Michelle made for a warm and welcoming host. No electricity or cooking equipment is provided so remember to be prepared

    Isabelle2018-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • A quiet modest cabin from which to observe river life and enjoy a beautiful tranquil setting - a road in the distance is the only reminder of civilization, and roaming cattle, riverside campers and a hillside holiday house your only companions

    Steven2018-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great little hut perfect for a secluded getaway.

    Samantha2018-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • While the location is lovely, the shared amenities (shower and toilet) can be shared with any number of people depending on how many other guests are staying on the property. We visited during the busy Easter weekend and there were many other campers on the property. That meant a constant stream of adult and kids using the toilet and showering at any time of day and night. The amenities block is very very close to the hut hence you would know about any one else using the shower. So if you are looking for peace and quiet ask ahead how many other people will share the amenities with you. On the Easter Monday afternoon, when most other guest left it was a much nicer experience. The hut itself, while well presented, is a fairly old (even historical) property with gaps in the flooring and walls so it may not be everyone cup of tea.

    Luca2018-04-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing little hut, great for a quiet weekend away

The effortless indoor / outdoor living space has been superbly designed to take in the sweeping views. Guest can also enjoy the Oxley River swimming spot and wander this picturesque 165 acre property which sits in the shadow of Mt Warning.
Just 35 minutes from Gold Coast Airport and 10 minutes drive from the beginning of the Mt Warning walking track. Byron Bay is also 40 minutes away
  • Michelle’s place was relaxed and comfortable. Michelle was a terrific host, easily contactable and good with directions. We loved the surprise cows!!!

    Kelly2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at The Perch with Michelle and Greg. The directions were impeccable and we found the place easily. Michelle and Greg are super friendly. The cottage is comfy and homely. The night was cold, but we were snug thanks to the heater. The highlight was sitting around a campfire in the evening and going for a walk down to the creek. Had it been warmer we would have loved a swim in the swimming spot.

    Martina2018-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • Very beautiful space, having some time out in the wilderness without the hassle of camping. Enjoyed having the cows and the creek close by. Only bad thing I experienced is car access would be fine for normal 2wd cars, but quite tricky for anything low/sporty but I should have expected that really 😂

    Stewart2018-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • The view here is insane! Such a spacious quiet spot. Loved the fire pit.

    Phoebe2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is a friendly and accommodating host. The house is located on 160 acres of farmland with picturesque views. I could feel the stress melting away in the peaceful surrounds. Beds are really comfortable & the water pressure in the shower is excellent. The farmhouse is a little rustic, but certainly comfortable with all you need. Loved picking the fresh oranges of the tree 😊

    Marie2018-06-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great family place to stay. Beautiful area, spectacular views. Thank you Michelle for your hospitality

    Wendy2018-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle's place is absolutely brilliant for anyone wanting to escape the hectic rush of the city. The area is picturesque, accommodation is perfect with many more places we would like to stay on the property. Michelle couldn't do enough to make our stay as care free and relaxing as possible. We will definitely be coming back for a longer stay next time.

    Mel2018-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle is a lovely and accommodating host. She even turned the lights on at the house for us when we were running late. It’s a great place to stay and enjoy the countryside and a holiday with our dogs. Wish we’d managed to be there longer to make the most of the beautiful area! We will definitely bring our kayaks next time :)

  • Great location and stylish space. The farm animals are very friendly and the shed is well equipped with amenities and comfortable in winter months.

    Fraser2018-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at the farm stay. Really cute set up at a great price. Simple accomodation with lots of small touches to make the place feel very welcoming. Rachel and her partner were great to communicate with and welcoming. Stayed with some girl friends for a kid-free night and enjoyed Gymea spa and then Mavis's kitchen for dinner, both close by. Plan to take the kids here at some point (probably once youngest is 4-5yrs old) as the tree house would great fun for them, chicken and ducks running around and lots of green space for them to explore. Look out point was lovely for a drink and view of Mt.Warning.

    Helena2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Euneye is the perfect place to stay and feel like a local. The accommodation is perfect to get the family together and enjoy the surrounds. The animals are vey friendly, the views are breathtaking and the locals are super friendly. It is close to town and many other popular tourist spots. Highly recommend visiting with Rachel & Jon!

  • Lovely clean accomodation, friendly and beautiful property.

    Victoria2018-03-30T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place to stay, very clean and a great location. Both kids and adults enjoyed feeding the farm animals and the treehouse is a beauty. Firepit with wood piled up ready to go was a bonus. Hosts were very friendly and were able to accomodate a last minute change of guest numbers with no problems.

    Brett2018-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the farm, was so pretty! The kids were so excited to see al the animals. Beds were really comfy and space very roomy. Thanks so much for a really nice stay.

    Danielle2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot to stay. So close to Mt Warning which was great as this is what we stayed in the area for. The kids had so much fun on the hill and in the tree house. Enjoyed the fire pit.

    Jac2018-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation is great value for money. Located is a very private and quiet valley, surrounded by very friendly farm animals. We got great tips about activities to do (off the beaten track) in the close vicinity; rope swings next to the Tweed River, visit to glow worms in a deserted railway tunnel etc. Overall a great experience.

  • We enjoyed our retreat in the mountains. The fire was well stocked and made a nice addition to the atmosphere of the retreat. Robyn and Gerd were very welcoming and assisted us with anything and everything, including giving us some local recommendations.

    Christina2016-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Robyn and Gerd's place was beautiful! We stayed for a quick weekend getaway and it was everything we needed. Full kitchen, comfy bed, great fireplace and beautifully decorated to feel like a home. Robyn and Gerd were super friendly and gave us the rundown on arrival. The place is built it under their home but it is very private and has a fantastic outlook onto the pool and amazing mountains. Lots to discover in the local area. We will definitely be back!

    Jayde2016-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • My husband & I stayed at Lilys Retreat recently while attending a wedding in the area. It was our first experience of Airbnb & I was impressed. Our hosts were very friendly & helpful, even driving us to & from the wedding, which was very kind. The studio was well represented as in the photos, was very clean & well organized. The little touches made it so nice, the lovely breakfast items left for us. We will be back to enjoy a little more of our own time to explore the area & just to chill out & relax. I would certainly recommend the retreat & wish Robyn & Gerd all the best. Regards Jacqui & Steve.

    Jacqui2016-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • We were very busy and didn't spend a lot of time at the accommodation but Robyn and Gerd were exceedingly friendly and helpful. We had a great few days.

    Russell2016-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location with cosy, clean and very well decorated accommodation. Thank you for the fire wood and the Toblerone!

    Maciej2016-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Lily's Retreat was perfect! Robyn was extremely accommodating by allowing a late check-in, and welcoming me upon arrival. The next morning, I did a little photography/film shoot with the mountain in the background. She was so wonderful on showing me the best location, and sharing her local knowledge with me. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks :)

    Christine2017-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is absolutely stunning, it's secluded and has beautiful views, the view of the stars at night is beautiful. We loved our stay.

    Elise2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Robyn's retreat is as described - peaceful, spacious and welcoming with wonderful views - right under Mt Warning. Communication was easy and we were guided by Robyn to easily find her place. The hosts could not have been kinder to us - in returning from dinner we discovered we had lost the key and they dealt with this graciously and warmly. Fortunately we found and returned the key the next morning! I have no hesitation in recommending this lovely place.

  • Cheryl and Terry are a genuine and warm couple who go out of their way to make you feel so welcome into their very comfortable, clean and modern accommodation. They’ve put a lot of thought into making your stay with them easy and memorable. Still, they are constantly trying to refine what I can only describe as a 10/10 experience. Thankyou both so much for making our short stay with you such a positive experience. Given the chance we would definitely stay with them again.

Tucked into the foothills of Mt Warning, is this quaint country cottage which offers peace, privacy and mountain views. Set on 5 acres, adjacent to the Tweed River and surrounded by national parks, the house accommodates up to six people in comfort. The house consists of two separate sections; the studio room has a large living area with a queen bed, adjacent to the main house and covered by the pergola roof. The older cottage has the kitchen, two beds, bathroom, fireplace and living area.
The house is a two bedroom fully self-contained cottage with quality queen size beds. Visitors need only bring food supplies and the usual accessories for a stay in the country. We supply the linen, towels and some of the things you'll need for cooking (salt, pepper, oil, etc). Consisting of two distinct sections, the studio section has a very large living area, with one wall opening completely to catch the breezes in summer. It contains large, comfortable leather couches, the TV (including DVD and stereo) and one queen bed. The main part of the house contains the kitchen (gas stove, microwave, fridge, all cutlery, pots, pans and utensils!), the lovely open fireplace (wood supplied too) and a mezzanine sleeping area with a queen bed. This section also has a comfortable double futon bed, if required.
The cottage is just 4km from Uki Village, a warm and welcoming community of quirky characters. On Saturday morning, the Uki hall is busy with locals buying their weekly fresh produce, while the Uki Buttery Bazaar Markets take place on the third Sunday of the month. The cafe serves great food and coffee and there's a supermarket, fuel station and various other shops. The local pub is a good place for dinner or a few drinks. This is the ideal location if you want to climb Mt Warning, explore the Tweed Valley, Byron Bay and the Southern Gold Coast. In summer, the beaches from Kingscliff to Pottsville are within an easy half hour drive, though you may prefer to relax in the river and try to spot the local platypus, or wander through the shady grassland and gum trees on the property.
  • Joe was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The accommodation was lovely and suited us perfectly. It was a seriously great weekend in a stunning location.

    Monica2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • The seclusion of the cozy cottage was a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of life.

    Dallas2018-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Such a nice location, great for two couples, seclusion if needed.

    Zak2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wished we could have stayed longer in this lovely cottage. Beautiful location and all comforts provided. Joe was also very helpful, making sure we had all the information we needed, and more, before our arrival. We had a lovely time. Thanks Joe.

    Michele2014-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous time! All the information Joe provided prior to our trip and during our stay at Uki Cottage were very informative. My group and I had a wonderful experience - especially the easy access to lovely creek across the road and being able to enjoy the natural surroundings from the deck. We would definitely recommend this residence to any one interested. Thank you again!

    Alana2015-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Joe's place. We were two couples up for the weekend. The pad was querky and homely and we especially enjoyed being able to sit outside and have a bbq . My only other comment would be that we were thankfully on close terms with the other couple as one of the beds is more like a studio set up and we had to pass them in bed if we used the toilet or made a cup of tea.

    Alekzander2016-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay here! Great location to explore the surrounding village, rainforest and mountains. We stayed here with my sister & her husband, plus my two toddlers, for a close friend/client wedding in the spectacular Crams Farm just 10 mins down the road. I'm originally from the area, but staying at this property offered a whole different perspective of the valley. The cottage(s) had all amenities and was clean and comfortable. I would only note to try to arrive in the daylight hours as the check in process could be lengthy - take the time to read Joe's instructions and its simple and straight forward (Our flight was delayed, and I hadn't checked my email with the instructions, but thankfully there was good mobile coverage, and even with the house alarm sounding, and two crying toddlers, it was do-able!)

    Rada2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful secluded location, leafy surrounding property with lovely lemon and mulberry trees. The fire place and pits made it extra lovely. We saw no neighbours at all. Bring an eye mask for the new room as there are floor length windows and doors with no curtains. May limit your privacy as you can be seen in bed by anyone else who stays with you in the other house. Overall a lovely house for a secluded trip. Close to Uki town centre. A very helpful host!

  • Marie-France is an absolutely wonderful host. We felt so welcome and comfortable in a sparkling clean, private sanctuary amoungst the beautiful mountains. Marie-France made us the best ham and cheese croissants I’ve ever tasted, plus fruit fresh from her garden. This was my very first Airbnb experience and I doubt anything will top it. I can honestly not say enough how wonderful my experience here was and I hope to visit again some day for a relaxing retreat.

    Caitlin2018-03-26T00:00:00Z
  • Marie-France's place was comfortable, clean, interesting, arty, cozy and fresh! Marie-France was enthusiastic and passionate about art and creating a beautiful experience for her guests. I will come back and do a ceramic sculpture workshop soon.

  • The private room was very beautifully designed and beautifully secluded in Uki. We enjoyed the time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Lovely view with breakfast and enjoyed Marie France beautiful unique art, she is truly gifted. Great fo (Website hidden by Airbnb) experience in a quite location but no cooking facilities to make your own meals. Overall, lovely location and wonderful hosts. Thanks again.

  • My friend and I enjoyed our winter weekend stay. The heater kept the separate cabin toasty warm in the evenings, so winter visits are excellent, although we’re sure the summer is spectacular. Mornings were glorious, with wonderful swirling mists quickly dispersed by the sun, plus breakfasts of locally grown fruit and croissants with excellent coffee. Marie-France and Tony were welcoming and hospitable, giving good advice about where to dine, what to visit etc. The architecture of their house gave us a lot of pleasure, with its indoor/outdoor 'pavillion' feeling. Excellent.

    Julia & Jay2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable, clean, private and serene. Marie France is a wonderful hostess. We really enjoyed our breakfast both mornings especially outside on the deck overlooking the beautiful landscape. Great location near to Mt Warning and short drive to the local for dinner.

    anna2017-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Marie-France and Tony are excellent hosts!!… Very friendly, talented and a capable artistic duo. ( We loved their art and architecture! ) They couldn’t do enough to make our stay a memorable one! We really enjoyed our time with them, along with the scrumptious breakfasts on the deck and the awesome spa, after climbing beautiful Mount warning! :-D Such a picturesque area to visit… We had a ball and would highly recommend staying here to anyone!

    Kaarlo2018-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. Marie-France was an excellent host and the place was really quite nice. The location was exactly what we were looking for in that it was a leafy retreat within a short drive of walking tracks and restaurants.

  • From the moment we walked through the gates everything was so beautifully japanese inspired. Anita welcomed us and made us feel totally at ease, she showed us through and let us have all the privacy we desired. I love the fact that everything had been thought of, the well catered kitchen, the more than generous breakfast hamper and so much more!!! What this place offers is an experience as well as a peaceful night away. We will definitely be returning!

    Justin2016-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • This would have to be the most charming of all the stays we've had through Airbnb! It's such a cosy and inviting place to stay. Everything was thought out down to the finest detail, from the ambience of the Japanese music playing in the tea room, the lit up lanterns, to the goodies in the kitchen. Anita was lovely and very accommodating of our toddler, who especially enjoyed feeding the animals. I especially loved the indoor and outdoor baths. This spot made our visit to he northern rivers area, and is located in a beautiful spot too. The subtle sounds of the nearby stream were very soothing too! Very comfy too.

  • Anita was such a warm and friendly host from even before our stay, ensuring we had all the information we needed to know what to expect and enjoy our time at Chalet Hotaru. She went above and beyond in making the place comfortable for us, ensuring the place was family and friendly, and also provided generous breakfast options which we all enjoyed. I will definitely be recommending Chalet Hotaru to friends passing through this area, we were very happy with our stay.

    Trish2016-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Arrived to find Japanese music playing. Very thoughtful touch. Interesting experience. Peaceful and every convenience we needed. Great beds. Good nights sleep! Good bath and shower.

  • We had a fabulous stay at Chalet Hotaru, so much so we stayed an extra night. Anita was so warm and friendly and had thought of everything we could possibly need. We enjoyed the animals, had a sumptuous breakfast, and loved the Japanese theme of the chalet - the bath house style bathroom, the robes, the sake, and tea, and Jaoanese garden bIt's close to Mount Warning and the Margaret Olley Art gallery which is a must see. I really can't fault this BnB on any level.

    Geraldine2016-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing weekend at Chalet Hotaru! Everything was fantastic and Anita was a great host. Great amenities - especially the indoor AND outdoor baths which we just loved. The outdoor bath was perfect for star and moon gazing at night. The space was very stylish and we really enjoyed reading the great selection of books about Japanese architecture and culture. The breakfast hamper was delicious and we loved feeding the family of farm animals! The surrounding area is picturesque and very close to Mt Warning National Park. I would highly recommend Chalet Hotaru for a very relaxing stay in lovely surrounds.

    Ellen2018-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • An impossibly pretty place, and an incredibly generous host. We couldn’t recommend this place enough, and miss it already. It was the perfect place to unwind after our wedding, and Anita couldn’t do enough for us, she is the perfect host. The area is also stunning! We loved the outdoor bath, and the wonderful breakfast hamper. We enjoyed all the gorgeous Japanese touches!

  • AMAZING... Sometimes in life you have those "this is meant to happen" moments. Our stay at the cave, was something we will cherish forever. The incredible detailing in the cave itself is something rarely seen in architecture and design & even after a couple of days your still noticing something new. The view of Mt Warning from your bed/verandah/lounge is truly breathtaking. The morning mist makes you feel as if you are truly in another reality. You could drift away to anywhere if your mind wished. Casey made us feel so welcome right from the get go & we truly felt both inspired & thankful to have met such an incredible soul. The food was incredible, the fresh bread delicious & the kitchen very well equipped for any needs. The amazing massage from Casey was an experience I will never forget & is a must for anyone in need of some physical and spiritual alignment. We will be back, again. We wish we could buy this place now so we could live here forever

  • Kirsten's home is a beautiful location in Uki with views of Mt Warning close to the Uki Town centre. Kirsten's place was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. Kristen was very generous with her time and provided us with plenty of ideas of how to spend our time in the locality. We really enjoyed passing through the back roads and "off the main track" locations that Kirsten mentioned.

  • Fantastic house in a great location. Great for a nice little getaway in the country and so close to Mt Warning! Views for days.

    Daniel and Bree2016-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very comfortable stay at Kristen's lovely home. She was incredibly warm and friendly and even cooked us poached eggs for dinner on our first night when we arrived late and tired. What a bonus!

    Astrid2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I had a lovely stay with Kristen. Her home is lovely and clean with beautiful gardens. Kristen provided great advice on the local walks and sites as well as giving great directions to anywhere we wanted to visit. Although we didn't have the opportunity to taste any of her cooking Kristen was always quick to offer us home made biscuits, Christmas cake, refreshments etc. I would recommend this place to my friends.

    Kate2016-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen went above and beyond with my stay! My room was large, clean and cosy. The house is in easy walking distance to the Mt Warning Tavern, making it easy for me to go and get dinner. Kristen gave me a bunch of useful local knowledge. This wonderful woman even sent me on my way with freshly baked carrot cake! Yum!

    Tracey2017-12-17T00:00:00Z
  • The accomodation was great. Comfortable, clean, good value and a short walk to the local pub, and Uki township.

    Lisa2018-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen greeted us late at night with cup of tea and apple pie and gave us a run down of the house and local area. The next morning, Kristen had breakfast set up for us and gave us directions into town and told us about the local market. All in all, a very pleasant stay and Kristen was a great host.

    Cam2015-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen is a great communicator. Her house is located on the hill above the Mt Warning Hotel in Uki. The location means it is a short walk to the hotel for dinner and to the shops and cafes of Uki. The bedroom was roomy and the bed very comfortable

From the front veranda enjoy the view of MtWarning and rolling green hills, horses, cows, trickling springs, and the constantly changing vista of Mt.Warning. An ideal tree change.

If you feel like coming out of your country privacy the local town of Tyalgum is just 1km from the properties front gate, the village has a pub, original General store, boutique shops and the famous Flutterbies café. If you are there on a Friday be sure to book, the live music, licensed bar and wood fired pizzas are very popular.
What was once a remote timber town is now one of the Valley’s most popular day-trip destinations, a vibrant village with quaint old buildings that have been lovingly restored and transformed into country cafes, art galleries, gift stores, a bookshop, silversmith studio and more. Flutterbies cafe has Wood Fired Pizza, live music and licensed bar on Fridays and some Saturdays for special events, they are open every day for breakfast, lunch and high tea.
  • Heavenly spot, a beautiful community and warm and kind hosts.

  • Had a fabulous time at Georgia's place. The kids loved the outdoor fire, opportunity to catch yabbies in the dam, wildlife encounter (we saw a docile python), and feeding carrots to the horses. My husband and I loved arriving to a relaxed home away from home. We could instantly unwind and talk about the important things in life as there was nothing to worry about at Georgia's. She had taken care of everything!!

  • Truly a serene and relaxing piece of paradise. So close to the charming village of Tyalgum and amazing mountain views from the house. We loved the comfy chairs and the chimnea fireplace.

  • We were on a boys weekend away. Georgias place was the right pick for us. Lots of space, plenty of wood for fires, no neighbours, great local pub and restaurant and short drive to amazing hikes and waterfalls.

  • This is as good a place as you will find in the Caldera. Great location walking distance to Tyalgum for a coffee and a wander around. Within striking distance to the major attractions in the region yet serene enough the Kookaburras and the occasional cow are all you hear in the middle of the day in the middle of the week! Panoramic views of the ranges with Mt. Warning prominent and the stars at night just glow! Fantastic well equipped accommodation, fantastic hosts and location make this a great getaway location. We are coming back soon!

  • Nice cottage in a great spot with fantastic views of Mt Warning. Tyalgum is a quirky small town perfect to drop into a few times over our 3 day trip. The cottage was well equipped and ideal for our needs. Both internal and outside fireplaces were well used. Everything as described and shown in photos. Thanks Georgia for a really pleasant getaway.

    Mount Warning, NSW, Australia

The cottage is situated upon a hill near the end of a quiet cul-de-sac about 1km from Uki village. Surrounding homes (all on 1 acre) are largely hidden from one another. Mount Warning views can be enjoyed from the room itself or from the adjoining verandah. The sunsets are regularly spectacular. Guests often comment that this specific location is magical due to the exceptional natural views (largely lacking buildings), lush vegetation, ideal climate, and tranquillity. Continental breakfast.
Couples and singles. Sorry, no space for children.
In the village there is a great bakery, a cafe/coffee shop, a supermarket, take-away, newsagent, post office, laundromat, a new hotel where meals are served, and a number of art/craft/artisan furniture shops. Mavi's Kitchen (a local restaurant en route to Mt Warning) is well known for it's amazing food. Every Saturday morning there is a produce market in the village, and the Uki Market is held on the third Sunday of every month. Mount Warning (which many visitors climb) is 15 minutes by car. Tweed Valley Regional Gallery (a major attraction that contains the reconstructed studio of Margaret Olley) is 10km away; on the way, at Stoker's Siding, is a noteworthy pottery shop worth a visit. Clarrie Hall Dam is 1km away, and Crams Farm picnic area (on the other side of the dam) is a great place to enjoy a different view of Mt Warning. The Tweed Coast is about 40 minutes away, with excellent uncrowded beaches (from Kingsciff to Pottsville). If one enjoys nature, mountains, rivers and the sea, the Tweed Valley is the place to be!

  • What an amazing little abode in paradise! Maryse was exceptionally welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Her residence is a magical place, secluded with the most beautiful view of the surrounding land and mount warming, yet so close to uki town and others nearby. Maryse was super friendly and easy to interact with, offering an abundance of support, laughter and always a big smile 😀 we cannot wait to visit again. Highly recommend!

  • What a gorgeous little place! I stayed for 1 night because I attended a seminar in the area. It is a separate cottage attached to the main house - with a spectacular view. Woke up with the mist hanging over the mountains. Magical. The cottage has everything you need - and I had such a peaceful sleep... Thank you Maryse - you are wonderful host!

  • Wow... what can I say! This home is amazing and so much more than I expected. The location is breath taking and the house large and very comfortable. Its situated past the quaint village of Uki which we visited during the Saturday markets (and the best antiques vintage clothing store I have seen). Gayle and her daughter made us feel very welcome and left a very generous pantry and essentials that made cooking very easy. The bedding was very comfortable and cozy. Our kids spent their time playing in the creek and exploring the grounds. What an incredible way to spend our Easter with family. Thanks again.

  • Excellent place and amazing experience. Our second stay and loved it...just like last time. Worth experiencing the calmness and remoteness of the area as well as the rustic feel of the house

    Moiz2016-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Tree House in the Byron Hinterland was just absolutely perfect. We arrived to a warm house courtesy of our host Gayle lighting the fire prior to our arrival. We appreciated her waiting for us and giving us a bit of an orientation of the property. Afterwards she left us to do our own thing. All the rooms were quite spacious and the beds comfortable. The place was neat and tidy, a few bugs around but not as many as thought considering the place is in the middle of a rainforest. I will definitely consider staying here again if I'm up that way again and hopefully have more time to spend exploring the property and the towns/villages in the Byron hinterland. The following review has also been provided by another member of the group: This place is an incredible getaway in the Byron Hinterland. The drive up there, the house and the surrounds make you feel as if you're a world away from the bustle of the city but you're only about 45min from Byron, and just a 5min drive from cafes. The house and grounds itself encourage exploration. The house has a series of stairs which lead to unexpected rooms, balconies and out into the back of the house to the creek. There are three verandahs/balconies which overlook different aspects of the grounds to the creek or the front yard. There is a private swimming hole behind the house which is tucked away and an organic vegetable garden which you can make use of as well. It is very private and safe area. Gayle was very helpful and kind in showing us the house and how to use its particular amenities (such as working the electricity and grill). There's no microwave so just keep that in mind if you're bringing food that needs to be reheated Please be advised though that if you're going with a group of friends, privacy in the bathrooms isn't the most important thing at this place. However, that can be easily fixed and all amenities are clean and we never ran out of hot water. The internet (if you choose to use it) is fast but it's not wireless, so bring a laptop. I highly recommend this place if you're after a relaxing getaway!

  • This is one of the most spectacular places I've ever stayed. The journey to the tree house on the winding road & bridges was beautiful. The house looks over the creek and is in the most magnificent rainforest setting. The house has everything we needed and was very warm. The host was welcoming and had excellent communication. Highly recommend for those wanting a quiet hinterland escape.

  • What a wonderful property! I booked 2 nights at The Treehouse as a post-Christmas treat for my 2 sons and their wives when we decided to walk up nearby Mt Warning. Gayle was prompt and friendly in her responses and very kindly held the booking for me even though I hadn't actually fully confirmed due to me misunderstanding a message from the website. We arrived later than planned but were able to warn Gayle of this and she arranged for her daughter to meet us at the house and provided a contact number so that we could provide updates in transit. Their professionalism was only outshone by the property - a beautiful 4 storey pole house in a gorgeous setting with the sound of the nearby creek lulling us all off to sleep each night. And no mozzies or bugs - a very unexpected bonus! It was too cool for us to swim but the ingenious creek pool would be brilliant on a hot day and the gorgeous pond and grounds were wonderful to explore. My family absolutely loved our stay - the home was very clean with very comfortable beds, a seemingly endless supply of hot water that easily accommodated showers for 5 and everything we could possibly have needed to cook including staples which is a nice touch. So many verandas and a huge sitting area inside that make this perfect for several couples or friends as there is plenty of room to sit quietly and read or enjoy the various views or get together for a chat. We headed into nearby Uki for brunch and dinner and the menus at the vegetarian cafe and Mt Warning Hotel would satisfy all but the most picky. We headed north to Broadbeach after we checked out and arrived in plenty of time for breakfast - the Treehouse really is ideally located fir a secluded but easily accessible getaways or tourists and locals alike. I've been fortunate to stay in some wonderful Airbnb's and The Treehouse was all I hoped for and more - and a perfect introduction to the Airbnb experience for my boys To have access to homes and locations if this calibre is what Airbnb is all about for me - the only problem is, I am quite spoilt for hotel stays now, they just don't compare. Thanks Gayle and Amber for making our two day break seem like a week- we loved every moment

Nestled below hidden valley 100metres from a private creek with rock pools and waterfalls this cabin has all the amenities, is self catering and close to Murwillumbah(6km), Cabarita Beach(30min),Tweed Heads(25min) and Coolangatta(30min). The Hare Krishna Temple is within walking distance(4km) and Wollumbin (Mt Warning) is a full day round trip walk(not for the faint hearted). Tyalgum is 15min away and worth the visit for "Italian ice-cream" food and nice pub. Nimbin is also a stones throw away.
The Cabins are private, clean and have good 4G reception suitable for small families of three or a group with a couple and friend. Beads are comfortable with the sleeper couch being in fact a king single bed, all with fitted sheets and matching pillowcases. There is a fully functional kitchen with adequate sink, stove oven combo, electric fryer, microwave oven, toaster and kettle.
This is a very Saught after area as far as being in nature and having access to all the creature comforts . Coolangatta airport is 30min drive and Brisbane just over an hour. Byron bay is 40min away as is Nimbin. The parking area to walk to the top of Wollumbin(Mt Warning ⚠️ )is a 20min drive. I also offer walks and excursions for a fee and if you are interested in early morning or daytime yoga the Hare Krishna Yoga Village is within walking distance. We also have bicycles to share. I do a early morning chant at the temple with an hour yoga session from 05:00 to 06:00 if guests would like to join.
  • Nature lovers paradise was delightful! The ideal place to escape the chaos of city life and appreciate some peaceful time in nature. We spent our days enjoying the beautiful countryside, hiking up the creek and swimming in the rock pools. The amenities where sufficient, comfortable and clean. Our hosts Andrew and Blue were friendly, likeminded and very accommodating. Andrew has good recommendations for activities (walks and drives) and things to do on the farm and surrounds. Cabarita beach was a highlight and less than half an hour drive (highly recommended). We were the first guest and this place has all the potential to be a top destination with the Hare Krishna temple a stones throw away, the healthy free meals a big plus. I would definitely recommend this gem of an Airbnb!

Blue was kind enough to take us to the Hari Krishna village for a meal on Saturday night and a tour of the temple which was really cool. The location was secluded but an easy drive to get to. The accomodation had everything we needed and was prepared for our arrival with a nice touch of fresh flowers from the garden by Blue. You can't put a price on experience and for us this is what we live for. We would love to visit again and pick up our conversation where we left off. Thanks Drew and Blue.

  • My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Haniel's quaint little cottage. My hubby said he felt like he was taken back to the Downton Abbey era except with 21st century amenities! We were pleasantly surprised by nice little touches such as finding some lights and air conditioning being left on to greet us when we arrived, and finding choux pastry that Haniel had left for us in the fridge. We loved that we had privacy as we had the whole house to ourselves, yet we felt warmly welcomed by Haniel, as the amenities were more than sufficient - plenty of bath towels and tea towels etc. The only thing to note is that mobile reception may vary for different providers (we had no reception for Vodafone but good reception for Optus). All in all, we had a fabulous experience at Haniel's house and we highly recommend him! Thank you so much Haniel and God bless :)

  • The place was very clean and tidy. Very nicely furnished and homely.

  • The space was lovely with a shabby-chic vibe. The bathtub was divine, I only wish I had more time so I could soak! Everything was supplied but would maybe suggest some condiments (Jam/vegemite etc for toast, not everyone eats eggs etc). Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

  • Me and my partner had an amazing time being spoilt by Francoise and Gal. They were very hospitable, friendly, accommodating and lovely people. We enjoyed spending mornings and nights sitting around a table, eating delicious food and having worldly conversations. Their place also happens to be located inside a beautiful rainforest with stunning views from every window of the house. Just a 10-15min scenic drive away, is the Mt Warning base. Certainly coming back here again. Thank you!

Tarcoola Croft is the rambling architect designed homestead at the heart of our 27 acre soon-to-be farm. The home is peaceful, and a lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine by the fire, curl up with a book, or sit and enjoy the wallabies and bird life. There is river access for a dip in summer, and forest trails for the adventurous. We are 3 minutes out of Uki village. Enjoy a stroll in our eclectic little village, try a pie from the Uki Pie shop, or stop for dinner at the Mt Warning Hotel.
Uki is heritage listed and divine. We're in the heart of the green caldera, the crater of a huge extinct volcano that gives us our stunning views, wildlife, and our mystic magic energy. Mount Warning and Wollumbin National Park is a 6-7 minute drive away. Mebbin Falls and Clarice Hall Dam for fishing and boating are just a short drive away. There are plenty of lovely drives, walks, villages and markets around. We're 40 minutes from GC airport and lovely beaches.
Uki is vibrant, eclectic and full of simple charms, rustic pleasure and fab locals. There are plenty of cafes, a great pub with regular live music, a weekly farmers market and a monthly bazaar- not to be missed!

  • Beautiful setting! Lovely lodge! Great home cooking by our host K! We loved the outlook and the spa on the balcony! A beautiful spider came to join us in the bath room but I caught him and set him free in the rain Forrest! Brilliant location but we did not climb Mount Warning out of respect to the original owners!
