Mt Airy is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Philadelphia. Safe, walkable, and close to public transportation. It was recently named "Best Big City Neighborhood" by CNN Money magazine. Come see why so many people love this gem of a neighborhood -- quiet, convenient to center city, and the friendliest neighbors. It is truly a gem within Philadelphia. Very walkable, lots of shops, green spaces for hiking and biking, and close to public transportation. A local favorite coffee shop, a wonderful indie bookstore, a cooperative grocery store, yoga, and acupuncture are all a block away.
  • The guest house is a brilliant adaptive reuse renovation. Very convenient to street parking and access, on foot you pass through a cozy raised bed planting dooryard to the spot! Pine floors and classic hexagonal tile shower shine u der two perfectly placed skylights...right over the queen bed. Theresa provided us with several excellent home-brews which let us kick off our romantic junket properly. very clean, organized, and put-together. And very convenient to several coffee shops, an excellent co-op, and several quaint eateries. Thank you!

  • Seriously everything about this place is amazing! Theresa gave great directions from the train and we found it with no problem. We walked into the place and were so excited to see a greeting on the board as well as Harry Potter glasses :)! We kept saying the place was way to pretty for us and we could imagine staying there for more than one day. Thank you Theresa for being so welcoming and being apart of our magical experience at the Harry Potter Festival!

  • A nice quiet space full of natural light 20 mins from old city and downtown PA. I was hesitant to book outside of the city but this place surpassed my expectations, Theresa was very responsive and the place is exactly as pictured and described. Would definitely recommend it to anyone staying for a couple of days in the Philadelphia area.

  • Me and my boyfriend stayed in Theresa's guest house for a quick little anniversary getaway and it was amazing! Every detail of the house was perfect, and it was so quaint and adorable that we wanted to move-in the second we got there. Theresa was very helpful and friendly and kept us up-to-date leading up to our check-in, yet gave us all the privacy we needed when we got there. We had a wonderful first airbnb experience and hope to visit this adorable guest house (and its quiet Philly neighborhood) again very soon. :)

    Jenna2015-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • From the front gate of the guest house we felt right at home. Inside there was a warm "welcome" along with important stay information: Wifi, contact numbers, etc. The space is small, however beyond comfortable and incredibly quaint. Hard to believe we were staying just a few minutes from the city. Theresa was great with communications about how to access parking and the key. She was super friendly and welcoming in all of our communications. I hope to be able to stay again soon! It was just too perfect of a space.

  • Chhanda and her husband were beyond welcoming! Their warm personalities makes staying here feel like a "home away from home." They were flexible with my schedule and willing to accommodate my needs.

  • Excellent place to stay. Wonderful neighborhood and environment

  • I enjoyed staying at Chhanda, great quiet bedroom and nice neighborhood, close to train and downtown philly

    Brian2016-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed for one night at Chhanda's house. It's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood of Philadelphia. The night I stayed it was unseasonably hot in the city but Chhanda had put the wall/window-unit AC on high before I arrived so that the room would be more comfortable, which was a nice touch. The room itself is on the 2nd/3rd floor of a narrow staircase, which is the only drawback. The bed is fine and there is ample space to spread out in the room. WIFI is good. Bathroom shared but no competition when I was there. Only spoke briefly with Chhanda on arrival but communication was prompt leading into my stay. I found parking for my car about a block or two away, not more than a three-minute walk from the house, which is pretty good considering how packed the area is. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance down the hill nearby. Can't speak about kitchen/washer/dryer access for longer stays as I was there just the one night but for my purposes Chhanda's guest room was handy for a brief stay.

    Peter2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Chhanda was really welcoming and was very friendly. Her home was very comfortable and parking was not an issue. We had a lot to chit chat about when we were both free. The room and bathroom was very clean and was great for the pricing. The UPenn campus and downtown are about a 20 minute drive. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here!

Walk to St Joes, or take quick train ride to Bryn Mawr, Villanova, Haverford and Center City from this completely renovated 1840's farmhouse. I'm a professor who chose this location to be close to our universities and a safe, pretty, quiet neighborhood. My style and home are welcoming and casually elegant, with a 3 season garden room perfect for breakfast or afternoon tea. Check out the pictures! Ladies and couples only please due to shared spaces.
Two short blocks from the train station that can get you to center city Philadelphia in 10-15 minutes; Villanova and other mainline destinations in approximately the same time. Trains run every half hour Monday through Saturday during the day and hourly in the evenings and on Sunday. From center city you can take the subway to local universities, museums and the Philadelphia Academy of Arts for concerts and musicals and plays. There are two rooms available. On the second floor off the gardens is a lovely room with a double bed, work space and small sitting area; shared bathroom. The third floor is a large open space, private bathroom and a spacious work space and sitting area. Third floor twin beds can be configured either as two twins or moved together. The space is large enough to easily accommodate either arrangement, please just let me know in advance.
Small, quiet very safe neighborhood. Most of the vintage homes are of the approximate age as mine; all are exquisitely maintained, with outstanding gardens. We look a bit like a sweet Irish country village with easy access to Philadelphia.
  • Jane is a wonderful host ! She even made us little treats for breakfast Her house is really close to Ardmore Music Hall too if your coming into town for a show . I definitely recommend staying here.

    Jennifer2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, while I stayed overnight, as family member had a stay at Lankenau Hospital. Jane has perfect accommodations with a warm greeting. Jane is so welcoming and down to earth. Clean, comfy, and so inviting.

    Dee2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • I was not sure what to expect, victorian farmhouse in the city... It was really sweet, and although it was a vintage home with many styled furnishings, it was high design in the upgraded kitchen. The home had this well furnished landscaped and useable rear yard that was private and quiet. The second flooor room was quiet even with guests downstairs and I slept like a baby. Jane also offered chocolate croissants and latte each morning, who does that? Next time I will take her up on the quiche.

    tom2017-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jane is just brilliant!!! It was our best airbnb stay ever. Since the 1st moment in her house we felt at home. She is an amazing, very helpful and kind person. We (me and my sister) had the room with 2 (comfortable) beds and a privat bathroom. This place is ideal for everyone including children since the house is located next to the train station (15min.journey to the center of Philadelphia) in a !very! safe and calm area. We slept like babies. We had enough space and all equipment we needed. She is very open and highly educated person so it is a pleasure to have a chat with her. We highly appreciated her help with all our issues! To sum up: -very safe area! -15min. by train to the center -clean and comfortable place -amazing Jane next door ready to help with everything Thank you Jane and we hope to see you soon again! L@V

  • Jane was wonderful from the very moment I booked the room. She emailed me back and talked about my schedule for the weekend. When we arrived she greeted us on the front porch. Her house is warm, bright and inviting. The accommodations were beautifully arranged, clean and thoughtfully stocked. We sat and talked with Jane several times during the stay and she is an intelligent, thoughtful, creative and generous host. We had made dinner plans but because of our schedules were not able to make the reservation, Jane sat down with us and helped to find a local restaurant to celebrate our weekend together with our family. We consider Jane a family friend and look forward to returning to her home.

    Julie2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best stays ever. Place had no pictures to see the rooms so was a little worried at first. The house was very clean with a private bedroom and a nice comfortable bed. The host had great communication and was reachable at any time. She was very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful location, house close to the train station close to the city Ave. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. You can walk around the neighborhood even at night no problems. Not far from small stores, grocery store short drive away. Room has private air-conditioner. She let us use the space in her fridge and cook.

    Waylon2017-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • It would be hard to rank order the many attractions of Jane and her house. Certainly, my wife and I felt like we were visiting a long-time friend within minutes of arriving. Jane is easy to chat with. Her house is spotless (No, we didn’t do a white glove test, but you know when you’re around clean). We didn’t take advantage of all she offered us for breakfast, but we did take in freshly baked croissants. Also offered were piles of fresh berries (and this is in late November), yogurt, oatmeal and cereal—and who know what else we passed up? We stayed in the top floor room, which meant we had our own bathroom and much privacy. The room can sleep four in two twin beds and a double bed using an air mattress. The later took a few minutes to get used to, but was comfortable. The ceiling of the room has eaves that make be an issue for those who are very tall. We adapted quickly. Jane’s house is in a wonderful location with very friendly neighbors. There’s a nearby park with a walking and biking trail along a creek. What makes a good location depends on your own needs, but for us it was spot on. Merion is a close in suburb of Philadelphia. Like her vintage –though updated--house, her neighborhood is one with many older large houses, many dating from the 1920s to 1950s. If you need to be in Center City (what is called “downtown” in most cities), the regional rail station is a five-minute walk. From there it is three stops and 25 minutes to the heart of Philadelphia. No car needed. Only two stops take you in walking range of University of Pennsylvania and Drexel campuses. With a car, Jane’s house is well situated for easy trips to Main Line addresses, St. Joseph’s University and shopping. Her house is just across from railroad tracks, but this was less bothersome than might be expected. First, in the three days we stayed there were no rumbling, long freight trains. Second, the trains that did pass by were short (usually three or four cars), never blow a whistle and didn’t run late at night. It turned out to be a non-issue. Finally, if your timing is right, you might get to sit in on a session with a bluegrass band that Jane plays with that may be jamming in her living room in the afternoon.

    Ben2017-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • Visiting Merion Station or West Philly? You should consider staying at Jane’s house. Her cozy home, quality breakfasts and warm personality make for a pleasant stay. I was on the 3rd floor loft, which was quiet. There is no wall door between the 2nd and 3rd floors, so if you need extra privacy I’d consider booking in her double room downstairs. Her quaint home is located in close walking distance of Merion Station, so the city isn’t far away. You can occasionally hear the commuter trains, but it’s not bad. If you’re not up for mass transit, an Uber ride to the art museum downtown set me back about $12 plus tip. I was in town for my Grandma’s 90th, and the party wasn’t too far away from Jane’s house. Jane is such a nice person, I invited her to join me as my guest! We both had a great time and I’m glad we got to know each other.

  • This was a very easy and comfortable place to stay while attending my high school reunion AND the hosts were kind enough to permit us to host a dinner and brunch for approximately 15 people. (We catered) the beds were very comfortable and the host was easy to communicate with. Special thanks to Dean and Melissa for making us feel at home,☺️

  • Dean and Melissa's house was great. Well stocked and furnished with plenty of space. Would stay again!

    Andrew2017-06-11T00:00:00Z
  • Dean and Melissa had freshly baked breads awaiting us when we arrived! The home felt instantly welcoming and warm. We had a late arrival, but coordinating the keys exchange wasn't an issue since they have a coded lock rather than keys. We appreciated the convenience of that. The space was very accurate to the photos, clean, and had lots of charm!

    Yao2016-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming host! Dean emailed and we talked by phone prior to arrival. House exactly as pictured, very sweet and well appointed. Fresh banana bread on the counter, newspaper in the morning and coffee supplied. Very close to Haverford and 25 min by car into the city. Would absolutely stay again!!

  • Alison's retreat is the perfect place for any guest. She was wonderfully accommodating to my mom's stay. My mom is older and has a disability and she worked everything out so my mom would have no difficulties. My mom especially loved the tea and the heater in the bathroom! If you're looking for a quiet easy stay close to Philadelphia, look no further!

  • Alison was a wonderful with a great attention to detail that made the stay seamless! My parents stayed here while they were in town and really enjoyed it. The room was wonderful and bigger than expected. The grounds were beautiful and the house was conveniently close to numerous restaurants. They will definitely stay here again if they come back to town.

  • The neighborhood is gorgeous. Even though it's city, you feel like you're in the country since it's so quiet. Alison & Scott made us feel very welcome and cared for. They were accessible for questions and alongwith their pets, a delight to know.

  • Allison was at home when we arrived and she warmly greated us and gave a tour of her lovely property. The guest room was exactly as discribed and more! We found the space to be very relaxing and arranged with great attention to detail. There were special treats, such as ice cold milk and a variety of cereal for us to start the day.

  • This was a perfect getaway in a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood. My husband loved it and we will be staying there again or recommending it to family and friends.

  • Alison made my first experience with Airbnb extremely easy and comfortable. She was in immediate contact with me from my request to book her room throughout the duration of our stay, and was very accommodating with our arrival/departure times. The description and photos online are accurate to a tee. We really enjoyed staying a bit out of Philly as it truly felt relaxing after a day of busy city activities. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here and would love to come back myself. Thanks Alison!

  • This is a very friendly, warm room in an idyllic setting. I thought I was in the countryside in France instead of the Main Line. Much more peaceful than being in the city while being just as convenient. It was a wonderful place to stay.

    Raymond2017-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't get a chance to meet Alison, she was traveling--but she was incredibly accommodating in all the up-front arrangements, friendly, helpful, gracious. Mike, her room mate was there in her place, who magically appeared shortly after I arrived. Great people, and a great place! Comfy, clean, well-organized, great shower! A nice little counter for food prep, a fridge. Signage for how to use which lights and when. All good. So happy I stayed here. Thank you!

  • This is a large gracious house. Neat, clean and comfortable. While we did not get to meet Alan, he was attentive and available when we needed help.

  • I came across Allan's house after my initial hosts address was inaccurate and the host was unable to be located. I was in the area for a family event in the area and had to find a new location late in the evening. Allan's house and the surrounding property is welcoming, spacious and absolutely beautiful. The room I stayed in was immaculate, as was the bathroom and every other space in the house. After a long day with a large family it was the perfect place to retreat to as I found peace and quiet in a comfortable home to get a great nights sleep. I would highly recommend staying here and would do so again as Allan is kind and hospitable making his home feel like your own.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Alan's historic home and loved the architecture and gorgeous gardens. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Alan was very friendly and conscientious about communicating with us. The location is great for parents dropping their kids off at local colleges as we were, and much cheaper and more interesting than a hotel!

The apartment is an efficiency with high ceilings, plenty of light from the four large windows overlooking St Josephs campus. The apartment has a separate kitchen and dining area as well as a large walk in closet and separate bathroom. The kitchen has a large fridge freezer and a stove and oven. The living area has chairs and 48# TV with Directv and DVR. The apartment has self-controlled AC and heat. Great for couples.
  • Place is exactly as described. Clean and spacious and comfortable. It can be noisy at night but if that doesn’t bother you, then all is good! I had a car to drive around in and it was about a 20min drive to center city Philly. I would definitely recommend!

  • Came to philly for the weekend to watch John Mayer perform. And I have all but nice things to say about this place. It was clean, and a nice big space. Andrew provided refreshments and was very outgoing and kind. When ever we had a question he would answer quickly which is an added bonus. He also helped with transportation to the venue and really made my trip hassle-free. If I am ever in the area again I would definitely stay here again.

It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and he had left food and drinks in the fridge for us. We would definitely stay there again.

Gorgeous and quiet tree-lined street in safe, walkable neighborhood conveniently located in the eastern Main Line. Very close to Center City Philadelphia and lots of restaurants and coffee shops just a few minutes walking.
  • We had a lovely and very enjoyable stay in this apartment. Everything was very comfortable and modern. The hosts were wonderful and very considerate, stocking the apartment with many pleasant and thoughtful extras. The neighborhood is peaceful, very relaxing and convenient to center city. We would absolutely stay again and again.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The host was consistently communicative and provided a detailed list of instructions for every aspect of our stay (WiFi, check in/out, garbage). The apartment was clean and well-stocked with amenities. We would recommend this apartment to anyone visiting Philly.

  • Steve has been a wonderful host! He provided coffee, fruit and bagels when we arrived after an exhausting flight and we really enjoyed them. Also, he offered a pack-and-play and a highchair for the kids. The apartment itself was fantastic: clean, beautiful, good location - everything was as described or even better. Definitely recommended!

    Ralf2015-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was fantastic and Steve was very accommodating and communicative. I would definitely stay there for my future trips to Philadelphia!

    Teresa2015-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you again, Steve, for letting us stay at your welcoming, warm, clean, quiet, and comfortable place!

    Gabriela2016-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful experience here! The house is beautiful as is the neighborhood. We wanted to be close to Lankenau Medical Center because my sister was having a baby - it was a perfect 10-minute drive to the hospital. Steve's place was also a 5-minute drive to supermarkets, the cute town of Narberth, and many restaurants. My mom and I stayed for about a week in the apartment, which had a separate bedroom and a new pullout couch (I slept on the couch and it felt great - they provide a mattress pad made specifically for the pullout bed, but I didn't use it because it was more than comfortable enough without it). There's a separate kitchen and a nice, large, bathroom. Steve even left us some things in the fridge to help us make breakfast the first couple days. We got to meet Steve in person on the way out and he was the most gracious host. He checked in with me a couple times to make sure everything was going well, but everything we could have needed was explained in the manual (wifi, tv, heating, parking, etc). We couldn't have been happier to find a place near the hospital that was inexpensive and very comfortable! Thank you!

    Janine2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • It is a nice place to be. Beatiful area te be. The appartment is large and clean. In all sleepingrooms is a tv.

  • Communication was great before and during the stay! Many thoughtful touches throughout the apartment, including coffee and OJ and muffins in the fridge. Super fast wifi. Bed and sofa bed both very comfortable. Very quiet and safe neighborhood. I am beyond grateful for having a haven for a few days, out of the dust and noise of the renovation on my own house, conveniently just a few steps away. Steve is a great host!

"The Penn Cottage"; This Circa 1695 Historic Home in the "Main Line Area" is one of the 10 oldest homes...possibly 1 of the 2 oldest. Charming house that is beautifully updated and is situated on a wonderfully landscaped and serene 1 acre property.

  • Selecting Alan’s Ardmore house as our wedding venue was the best decision that we could have made. As a host, Alan was very warm and welcoming when we first met him. He did the best he could to work with our budget and was very accommodating to our vision for our wedding. We could not have asked for more from an Airbnb host. The venue itself is in a world of its own. We did the wedding in the back yard, holding our ceremony underneath the wine arbor. Tables were laid out in the space between the two large trees in the back yard. We were able to transform the space into a beautiful backyard wedding. Even the kids had a great time; the family-friendly element of Alan’s property added the nicest touch to our event. Because of the rope swing, trampoline, and tree house, the kids had no shortage of activities to enjoy and play with. This was unexpected and well appreciated. The house itself was exquisite. Its historic mainline charm left everyone in our family speechless and made for a beautiful weekend home for close family and friends. All told, I would strongly recommend that you look into Alan’s home as a venue. If you have the vision, you can transform his back yard into a dream.

  • We immediately felt welcome at Alan’s graceful home as soon as we came up the drive. Alan was always helpful, communicative and understanding as we were coordinating our family’s stay. The house, portions which dated back to 1695, was lovingly restored and centrally located on the Main Line. The multiple fireplaces warmed us up after our Turkey Bowl (40 years and counting!) The dining room was well organized & well supplied to serve a holiday meal, the TV room perfect for the college kids watching T-day games and the kitchen perfect for preparing (and cleaning up) our Thanksgiving dinner. The house far surpassed a hotel stay which is the great wonder of Airbnb. It made for a great Thanksgiving! Thank you Alan.

    Diana2016-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We have family in DC, PA, and CA. We chose Alan's home as a place we could all come together to celebrate the holidays. From the start Alan was helpful and responsive to my questions. His home was everything he described. It is an historic home which meant lots of charm. But "charm" did not mean "lack of amenities". His kitchen is new with plenty of room for our whole family (8 adults and two children) to gather. Three full baths and one half bath made getting ready in the morning very easy. The home is comfortably furnished. There were both gas and wood fireplaces. We even made use of the pool table in the basement. Alan is a gracious host who even provided fully decorated Christmas trees for our stay (one in the living room and two in the bedrooms). The entire home was decorated tastefully for Christmas. Because it was December, we didn't make use of the grounds as much as we would have in summer. However, the home is on a large piece of property and I could see there was both a patio outside with comfortable chairs and sofa as well as another more secluded spot on the lawn with table and chairs. I could see a summer barbecue being lots of fun. Since some of our group was from the Philadelphia area we already knew something about the neighborhood. It is on Philadelphia's Main Line (upscale) very close to a shopping area so if we forgot something it was a quick run to Whole Foods or Trader Joes or Starbucks. And yet when you came back it felt like you were stepping back in time to something a little less hectic and a lot more tranquil. I would highly recommend a stay at Alan's home. My only complaint is we had to go home!

  • Great location and exceptional host! A truly unique home with great history and contemporary updates. Highly recommend!

    Rich2017-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and a very interesting, large historic house. We enjoyed our two night stay. The host is very accommodating. The home was decorated with Christmas Trees in three rooms which delighted the grand children. He purchased a new 12 cup coffee maker to make our stay better. The large yard and new fallen snow provided a wonderful back drop for pre-wedding photos.

    Kevin2017-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Alan was an excellent host! very accommodating and available for our needs. With a warm greeting and house tour on arrival we settled right in to his beautiful(and we found out very historic) Mainline home. I had my family traveling in to see me and mine and the house was perfectly decorated with a large secluded property and gardens and plenty of parking. There were fireplaces all over the house including our bedroom which we loved! the home was much more than we expected so Thank You Alan! Highly recommend this home.

Charming 2 bedroom apt. 15 minutes by train from Philadelphia & a half-dozen colleges. Steps from: commuter train, restaurants, pubs, bookshop, cinema, yoga, coffee/cheese/pastry shops, park, library, police. Short drive to more shops: Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, organic markets, and shopping! N/S/E/W sunlight! NOTE: Available as entire apartment Thanksgiving 2017, with two bedrooms, from November 22nd to November 27th for same price!
The best part of living here is that it's steps from the village, where you can find good food and atmosphere, the commuter train, and a very short drive from anything else to please the palate or the physique (lovely trails for cycling and walking are a 1.5 - 3 miles away). As long as you don't mind the train sounds - which I stopped hearing only days after moving in seven years ago - you'll love the idyll of this Main Line charming town, and the abundant sunlight. (Note: When I'm overseas in July/August, and sometimes in December, and for occasional long weekends, I list this as "entire apartment").
Unique on the Main Line for its popularity as a place to stroll, this charming 125-year-old village has a thriving local economy with all its shops, restaurants, yoga studios, books stores, cafes, etc. There's enough to do here for a weekend, and if you want to explore the thriving, scenic, historic city of Philadelphia, the rail line is across the street. Philadelphia's cultural pulse is thriving, with food, theater, and music in abundance! Train ride is only 15 minutes!
  • we stayed there 2 weeks, the host, cassandra is very nice and kind, she opened her home for us. we felt like at home. we had everything we needed. we enjoyed it a lot. great location. nice neighborhood. we would love to come back again.

  • Delightful host and apartment.

    Megan2017-05-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cassandra's place is well-locatedin Narberth in the center of town but on a residential street. there are good small food shops, wine store, restaurants, yoga studio, movie theater, etc. It has a cute town ambiance, rather than other mainline towns that are more car-based. My friend and i each had a bedroom in the apartment, which was very comfortably appointed, like staying in someone's home, with personal and creative decorations and comfortable furniture. There is a nice kitchen and dining room where you can sit at a table next to windows next to trees while eating. the kitchen has all the things you might need to cook a meal. Cassandra was greatabout communicating; it was easy to reach her, and she supplied us with plenty of information abuot the local area, and the house itself. I recommend Cassandra's place if you are looking for a cozy home away from home in Narberth.

    Maggie2016-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Cassandra's place was perfect for us. Best location in downtown Narberth. It was very clean and roomy. She was a great host always concerned if everything was ok and if we needed anything. I would recommend this place. Note: Train station was only one block away which made it easy to commute from airport to Narberth and back. We were visiting our daughter who lives in Narberth.

    Joseph2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Cassandra's. A great location with friendly neighbors. Cassandra arranged for a friend to to let us in and "give us the tour" Although Cassandra wasn't here in the beginning of our stay she was very quick to respond to a small issue with the TV. She was so nice to share her home with us and enabled us to extend our stay for another week.

    Fern2017-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • I had the most wonderful stay at Cassandra's apartment, I truly could not have asked for a better place to stay or for a better host. I had to travel to Pennsylvania for an interview, and I wasn't too sure what to expect because it would be my first time on the East Coast, my first time using Airbnb, and I was traveling by myself. Cassandra's apartment was well decorated, very comfortable, and located in a quaint small town (very close to public transportation!). Cassandra truly went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and at home. She frequently offered to drive me into town on her way to work, invited me along when she had plans, and suggested great places to visit. She treated me like family, and I highly doubt I will never encounter another Airbnb hostess like her.

My place is in the heart of Ardmore, on the Main Line. It is a light filled, spacious house with plenty of gathering areas. Within a half mile (walkable with sidewalks) is Suburban Square, a Trader Joe's, a Wawa, a Starbucks, a walking trail at Haverford College and many wonderful restaurants. Driving to Phila takes about 20 min. The regional rail train to Phila is a 5-10 min walk from the house. Close to SJU, Villanova, Bryn Mawr. Great for families and groups of travelers.
Ardmore is a charming suburban neighborhood, with many unique houses and lots of trees. There are plenty of sidewalks and shopping.

A historical getaway in one of the oldest communities of the 1st US Capital - The City of Brotherly Love. It is nestled in the tree-lined originally Lenni-Lenape (Men-among-Men) Delaware Indians land presently known as the Main Line of Philadelphia. More than a hundred years ago the Main Line area had attracted expansion of the largest public corporation in the world, with a budget greater than that of the U.S. government, the Pennsylvania Rail Road. There had been strict preconditions to build in this area, one of which was to present a unique architectural project; small enclaves of distinctly fashioned colonials, built as commuter homes for railroad executives soon spread across the landscape in Lower Merion Township, the Main Line frontier. Every house is different yet shares a unifying design vocabulary. Our colonial revival home was erected in the year 1916, and hasn't been rebuilt or refinished since. It was well preserved over the century. Most of its decorative interior features, furniture settings and even its lay out remain intact. We are walking distance from Albert C. Barnes' historic home, domain of the Arboretum and archives and also very close to the oldest American Quaker Friends Meeting House in Merion. 10 minute walk to celebrated pubs and restaurants of the little town of Narberth. Bicycles for local wandering are available. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
  • Wonderful!! Regina is the most lovely and helpful of hosts. The home is magnificent, in a gorgeous, lush neighborhood of magnificent homes. It's quiet and tree lined and close to everything!! I was in town for a festival that was less than a mile away, but also spent time scootering around the area and found the train station and fantastic village practically around the corner. The room is beautiful, spacious, with a seating area, a private roomy bathroom and a super comfortable bed. I slept better than I do at home..very peaceful and private. Regina has added many special touches to the space. I definitely highly recommend!!!!

  • 1. Hosts are very friendly and also gave me a ride to the conference I was attending. 2. Clean and tidy, very big room, very comfort sheet and comforter. Things are as accurate as what they are described. 3. It's very close to the train station. All houses in the neighborhood are beautiful, with tall trees and all pretty plants surrounded. It's like in a fairy tale.

  • We were warmly greeted by Regina and Misha to their family home. They accommodated our kitchen needs and provided coffee and refrigerator space for our breakfast foods. They were helpful in getting information for our transportation needs. The neighborhood is an amazing one with large older mansions. It is very convenient to the rail lines to downtown which we used with ease. It was a great location for our needs. The house although amazing is in a state of being restored by Misha so, although it was fine for us, be aware that if you are looking for a place in pristine condition that is not what you will find. Obviously the price they are charging reflects this and makes it more economical for some. We do give them a lot of credit for their undertaking and wish them the best.

  • I had a great stay at Regina's place. The room was clean and well prepared; and Regina had the AC on before I arrived so the room was cool and welcoming. I was able to check-in and check-out quickly and easily and enjoyed talking to them the times I could. I would stay here again.

  • I booked the room for a night to take my wife to a concert as a birthday present. This was our first airbnb booking but Regina made it a wonderful experience. She responded to our questions politely and promptly before booking. During our stay, Regina and her husband displayed great hospitality. Regina was very accommodating to our early check in and offered excellent suggestions for places to eat dinner. We both felt very welcome and Regina could be contacted easily through phone, text, or the airbnb app. She even double checked that we made it in ok late after the concert. The room and private bath are absolutely lovely. My wife was delighted with the home's turn of the century character. The bed was very comfortable and we slept like logs without interruption, even with the windows wide open. The neighborhood is very peaceful but also located within easy access to a multitude of great locations in Philly. There are train tracks nearby but it wasn't loud or distracting by any means. Anytime we need a place to stay around Philly, we will definitely see if this room is available!

  • We had a wonderful time. This was by far our favorite AirBNB stay. Regina even picked us up at the train station. The house was amazing and the room and bath were immaculate. We wished we had more time to spend there. The hosts were very helpful, accommodating our two daughters with a rollaway and linens for the ample couch. They were so welcoming we felt comfortable and at home.

  • I felt welcome the moment I pulled into the driveway. Misha was gardening and Regina welcomed me at the front door. The home is spectacular, a work in progress. I had a lovely private, quiet suite with a king size bed and private bath. I was given a great recommendation for a restaurant. This home is located in a neighborhood of similar homes. All of them works of interesting architecture. The train station was a five minute walk. I was able to walk to the ball field of St. Joseph's University in twenty minutes and to the village of Narberth in ten minutes. Perfect hosts, home and location. I hope to return when my son's ball team returns to St. Joe's!
