“Cheekwood is a 55-acre botanical garden and art museum located on the historic Cheek estate. Originally built as the home of Leslie and Mabel Cheek in 1929, Cheekwood is one of the finest examples of an American Country Place Era estate. Since being converted into a museum of art and botanical garden in 1960, Cheekwood has presented world-class art exhibitions, spectacular gardens and an historic estate unlike anything else. Each year, Cheekwood welcomes over 225,000 visitors, making it one of the city’s top cultural attractions, with approximately 14,000 member households. Visitors enjoy family activities, programming for all ages and year-round festivals celebrating the four seasons. From 150,000 blooming bulbs in the spring to one million holiday lights in the winter, there’s always something to see at Cheekwood.”

State / Provincial Park
“My personal favorite and preference. I’ve been hiking at Radnor Lake every Fall for 28 years and each time is like the very first. A stunning view of the lake with spectacular views along every trail...and there are a lot of trails to choose from. Please visit and take home from frame-worthy photos!”

Monument / Landmark
“This picture does NOT do the park justice. Please walk down and explore it on a beautiful day. At any given time, you may randomly see historical reenactments like old time baseball games (in full costume), civil war exhibits / reenactments, and live music. Little ones will enjoy the splashpad on the far side of the park (bring a suit or change of clothes). Just past the splashpad is a giant stone map of Tennessee, easy to overlook under your feet as you walk towards James Robertson Pkwy. We frequently sit on the lawn with a picnic lunch or dinner - the view of the capital building is amazing! The granite walls all along the outside of the park tell Tennessee's history in digestible snippets. Visit the WWII memorial and find all the places you've visited on the giant rotating globe. Let the kids do their own play in the old world style amphitheater - or catch whatever show is happening!”
