Location, location, location! Large, classy, timeless, comfortable, entire top floor with private entrance in our private house out of a 1890's novel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn one block from the East River. So easy to get to Manhattan by subway, ferry, cab or even foot, and all the best places in the "Burg" Wifi/cableTV/air/heat. (We stay in our separate floor below you never compromising your privacy!)
Perfect location on the Northside Williamsburg, Brooklyn Waterfront scene, my place is a wood beamed classic, with hard wood floors and restored original brick wall. It is the top floor of a 1894 restored house on a very nice semi residential street block. The nicely outfitted place, "the country in the sky" as I refer to it, has a beautiful totally functional "Peerless" antique prewar stove for cooking, generous amounts of pots, a wood burning fire place and a full size refrigerator in the kitchen. The feelings are cozy, warm, cabin like yet elegant. The kitchen and living room are in the same open area. There is a dining room table that seats 4, a beautiful brand new couch that folds down to become a very comfortable queen size bed that sleeps 2. Beyond the living area is the large master bedroom with a queen size bed that sleeps 2 with a large antique dresser and 2 riverside windows. Off the master bedroom is a large tiled classic bathroom with an antique skylight and large tub with shower, and a small bedroom with a twin size bed and riverside window that is nice as a separate rest area, a great place for a child to sleep, or an out of sight room to put your luggage and things. My location is beyond great and safe. 10 minutes maximum in a cab or car service over the Williamsburg Bridge and you are in Manhattan. It is a short walk (3 min) to the North 6th Street East River Ferry ( the scenic quick river route to Midtown Manhattan or lower Manhattan, please check schedules). Subways: L train ( gray line): First stop in Brooklyn, only one stop to Manhattan and a neat 10 minute walk from my place going by shops, restaurants and street vendors to the very frequent Northside L train subway stop at Bedford Ave and North 7 St, (Everything you want to pick up to take back to my place is on Bedford Ave or Kent Avenue which are the walking routes to the subway. (Among the small shops, restaurants and bars, there is now a "Whole Foods" supermarket and a Iphone store on Bedford!) The JM subway that goes over the Williamsburg Bridge with wonderful views of the river and NYC skyline to lower Manhattan (Chinatown etc), is a little further (13 min walk ) through the South Side. After a night out in the neighborhood, you will find this quiet, comfortable, timeless place to come home to that is the top floor of a restored Williamsburg house. All East River parks are a short walk away with their spectacular river and skyline views. During the warm months the weekend flea/food markets down Kent Avenue/North 8 on weekends are fun and back dropped by the river and Manhattan skyline. Grand Street River Park is only a block and a half away. I love going there in the mornings with a cup of tea and taking in the NYC view. The quaint restaurants and music clubs are amazing and abundant, the "Williamsburg Foodtown" Market has all the groceries you need and frankly the only reason I would leave the "Burg" would be to go to a museum, St. Patrick's, Grand Central's Oyster Bar or ice skating at Rockerfeller Center. Indoor Flea Market on North 7th right off Kent Ave, "Mast Brothers Chocolate" on North 3rd off Berry, "Beer Garden" restaurant lunch, dinner, brunch with live music on Friday nights on North 3rd and Berry, "Sea" restaurant (Thai) on North 6, "Sweet Water" (Bistro) restaurant on North 6, "Dumont Burger" for awesome burgers on Bedford between South 2-3, "Aurora" (Northern Italian) with great brunches, lunches and dinners is right around the corner as is "Coxley's" sport bar with 40 beers on tap and great chicken wings on Grand St. "Teddy's" rest and bar (American Bistro) on North 8, a landmark that serves brunch, lunch and dinner and also has music sometimes at night, and the "Knitting Factory" music performance space and bar is 6 blocks away on Metropolitan. The best NY steak house, "Peter Luger's" reservations only, is in the vicinity. The floor is divided in 4 areas: upon entering you are in the kitchen and living, dining room with a wall and door that separates this space from the large bedroom in the front, the large tiled bathroom and the smaller front bedroom. The living area can easily convert to a sleeping area for 2. The place is adorable and sleeps four comfortably. Much quieter than most places in the area. Heat, air conditioning, wifi, fine linens/towels and kitchen utensils are provided for my guest. Full laundry drop off service and dry cleaners is available a couple of blocks up the street at "Berry Cleaners" or 302 Bedford Ave. My personal assistant/butler and I will check with you on your arrival time, hand over keys and be close at hand for anything you need during your stay. I and my husband are on our private lower floor of the house.
The neighborhood feels like a small village. It is very safe and has such a mixture of different foods, cultures, and restaurants. The Manhattan skyline views along Kent Ave can get no better and the wonderful Pier off North 5 on a Sunday afternoon is full of families, tourist and the occasional fisherman. During the warmer months there are outdoor flea markets and food markets of North 8 on the East River side. Bedford Avenue (3 blocks away) on the North and South side is filled with non chain restaurants, bars and shops.
  • Me and three other friends staid at the "Cabin in the Sky" for about a week over new years eve. All of us loved the place and had no complaints! It is very spacious and cozy, and in a great location. All the appliances work perfectly and the beds are very comfortable. Maria was very helpful and nice getting everything situated as well as Azul who was there to help us whenever we needed it. I would recommend staying here to anyone of my friends or family!

  • We went to NY to celebrate our 20th anniversary and my 50th birthday. We really enjoyed staying at this Williamsburg apartment. It was everything they had shown and promised on their web site. The warm welcome from Azul was a good start. All facilities we needed were there. The rooftop was a great surprise and special feature! I myself enjoyed the nearby riverside parks, with great view on NYC and the lively streets around Bedford station.

    Coen2015-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was clean, cozy and impeccably charming. As pictured - in a great location near great restaurants, shops and vibes. Azul was extremely accommodating and the entire process was a breeze. Would stay there again!

  • We had a great experience staying at Maria's place. It is charming and warm. Maria was very responsive and helpful. Would love to stay there again!

  • Maria is helpful and welcoming, her place is great its comfortable with rustic charm and is in a fantastic location.

  • Marias apartment is amazing! Not only located great in the Williamsburg neighbourhood (many bars and restaurants just around the corner), but also clean, cozy and very welcoming! We stayed as a party of two and it fitted perfectly. Furniture and everything else is chosen attentively, top highlights are the stove and the nice fireplace. From the roof you have a very nice view on the midtown Manhattan-skyline as well as on the Williamsburg Bridge until Brooklyn Bridge. Both Maria and her guest manager Azul were very kind and considerate, so nothing was missing for our stay there. We definitely recommend staying there for your time in New York!

    Dirk2014-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most wonderful time staying in Maria's apartment. We walked in tired and exhausted from our journey from Australia and were greeted by soft lamp lights and warm earthy tones of the decor - it felt like being at home from the first minute. It is warm and cosy when it was cold outdoors and the location just perfect being just a short stroll to the subway station, supermarket coffee shops etc. Azul helped us during our stay with anything we needed and he is truly a wonderful guy. After a busy day seeing the sights of Manhattan we so enjoyed the quiet walk home from the subway station through the local neighbourhood. We felt safe at all times and highly recommend this as a place to stay whilst in New York. Thanks Maria, Greg and Azul!!

  • Great place to stay! Awesome location- 2 blocks from the East River, 5 minute walk to the Brooklyn Flea/Food Markets, 10 minute walk to Williamsburg bars, shops, and Bedford L train stop, $20-$30 cab ride from Manhattan depending where you are. HUGE apartment. Gorgeous wood floor. Extremely helpful landlord (Azul). The only problem I found with this place was that there are mosquitos, so make sure the windows have screens on them if you are staying in the summer time. Small AC, but with windows open at night the place can get pretty cool. Would definitely stay here again. Maria was very helpful and responsive, as well.

Downtown, the best bit of Manhattan. One of, if not the, LARGEST space on Airbnb in NYC. Your Own PRIVATE Bathroom & PRIVATE Bedroom, a Terrace off the bedroom, near to subways/buses, restaurants, bars, real luxury right in the middle of things. Just read our 400+ 5-STAR REVIEWS and you will see why we are SUPER-HOSTS and why you will just love this place, like other guests, I promise. Si, hablo bien espanol, Français parlé assez bien.
Downtown Manhattan, .. just like you see it in the films. Only so much better in real life !! All the details are below so that will see all that you will experience on your trip to the Big Apple - there are lots of things you will love when you stay here, but PLEASE PLEASE (did I say please?) try to read all the way to the end of the description, including sleeping arrangements, information on the area, getting around and the frequently asked questions. I know it is a bit of a novel, but it is well worth it and, from experience, it makes sure you understand everything in detail and ensures you will have the best stay that you can. Anything at all that you are not sure about, if you are new to Airbnb for example, just ask and I will get back asap and clarify. • Very spacious loft apartment ( about 2000 sq feet, 188 sq m, at last measure - so very BIG for New York) in the center of arguably the coolest area of the city (please do not argue ), modern, minimalist furniture , very open, very clean, I take great pride in having a spotless living environment (that goes for the host too). A Massive space that gets flooded with light via a wall of windows. Just take a look at the pictures. High security. Walking distance to subways & museums. Friendly building and very safe neighborhood. • Your own PRIVATE bathroom - Large, spacious, with Jacuzzi Bath, Shower, Hairdryer, Kohler fixtures. Fresh towels etc. Fully-stocked. All the shampoo and things you will ever need. Just for you. • Your own PRIVATE bedroom - Queen Bed for 2, firm and soft pillows for every type of sleeper, linens, towels, Large Flat Screen TV, Netflix, Amazon TV etc, Wardrobe. Again only for you. • Large kitchen - Open concept with an area to eat and with everything you need to design a gourmet feast, top of the line GE appliances, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle , Dishwasher, stainless steel counter top etc. Make any food you want - if it is really good, give me some. Make coffee there in the morning - always available -- you have your very own little coffee bar. • Very large living area, Real Fireplace, WiFi, Surround sound HDTV with HDMI hook-up and Roku TV, Bose sound system with iPhone/iPod hook-up, the best choice in music (in my opinion, most not consulted). Sit.... Enjoy • Large dining area - seats lots, great views over the city and over the Williamsburg Bridge. Eat foods mentioned above (probably while seated, although one can never be sure). • Natural brick walls (as opposed to unnatural I suppose) and a lovely Merbeau wooden floor, both of which look good (but don't say much). • Floor to ceiling windows throughout - bathed in sun (when the sun is out, mainly, of course) • Outside secluded seating area and balcony - you access directly from your room - very secluded (sometimes I cannot find it) • Full air conditioning / heating in the room and in rest of loft - be hot, be cool (most likely one at a time) • Bosch Washer and Dryer - for you to use - we like to reserve that for guests who stay for 3 nights or longer - being kind to the world too, we try to use cold water as well where possible. • Keyed Private elevator entrance directly into Loft - of course you have your own key (or stairs if u have the energy - does not seem so popular, strangely) • Printer / Scanner available. Pens and paper too, if you are a traditionalist.(although we draw the line at camel hair brushes, I'm sure you understand). And there is a universal power adapter for you to use to charge your gadgets too. • The building is a very smart development, a recently renovated 7-story apartment block with original brick facade, great views of the city skyline. Quiet, lovely, village feel, with parks and pedestrian areas just outside, but close enough to get anywhere very easily. I think I am allowed to say it is authentic. • This is a very large and comfortable space that you will be free to enjoy as you wish (this is your vacation after all). You will have lots of privacy and as well as the city, you have Books, Music (great as mentioned above), Roku TV with lots of channels and an online DVR and more .... or just relax and chat. Up to you. We provide the following publications too New York Times New York Magazine so you can feel a bit like a New Yorker • Located in the heart of Downtown - food (some of the best in the city), drink, fun, shopping all very, very close. A very cool residential neighborhood just a short trip to all the action. Perfect location for exploring both sides of the river too, as very close to Brooklyn and Williamsburg. One of the most historic neighborhoods in the U.S. (perhaps the most). We are only a few minutes away from the walkway along the East River, it has a great view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan Bridge. Nearly opposite the Tenement Museum (which is really great). TV, Film and general interest media all the time (become a star - or an extra anyway) ,music clubs and comedy left right and center and Alphabet City, Ludlow Street , East Village, Chinatown and Soho all in spitting distance - and I can not spit far. Direct Access to cabs just outside building. • Food shopping wise, it is 3 blocks from a Whole Foods and a couple of blocks from the Essex Street Market. Great food shopping if you want. I hope everything is covered - email if you need more information. I hope to see you soon and I hope I can be part of your visit to this unique place.
Best neighborhood in Manhattan for independent coffee shops, cozy wine bars, up-and-coming restaurants (the area has 4 out of the top 10 best places to eat in this years NY magazine list) , intimate music venues, and interesting owner-operated shops. Like no other area in the city. A very peaceful cool neighborhood, yet just a short trip to all the action. Check out the "Guidebook" with my listing -- I send a much longer one that I have written directly to guests that do decide to stay before they get here - and they love it, mention it often in their reviews and keep asking for extra copies!!
  • Carol made sure that we knew how to get to the LES Loft. We got directions which were very clear. We arrived at Newark, took the airtrain and the subway. We had to walk 5 minutes max from the subway. Marc gave us a warm welcome. The room was big enough; there was enough space for the clothes. There was a big terrace that we could enter from our room. The bed slept nice and was big enough for two Dutch people. ;-) There was a private bathroom with a good shower. Marc and Carol are very friendly and will help you with everything when needed. Paul and I had a wonderful time in New York and our stay at the LES Loft was great. The Subway (for sandwiches) and the Starbucks are three steps away!!! Marc and Carol, thank you very much for your hospitality and the interesting conversations.

  • My new friends are just the most formidable hosts! Get ready to enjoy real, heart felt hospitality! Everything in the listing is exactly as represented and certain important things are even better than you can see in the pictures: the bed for example. It is an incredibly comfortable bed in a really charming setting sun, snow, rain or sleet... and I had it all in my five nights stay! This is a very nice, modern and open loft. Cool mix of contemporary and NY old charm. The location is perfect for getting to all groovy parts of NYC plus if you are into exploring Brooklyn that's a few subways stops away as well. There's a lot to see just walking about and if the weather is good you shouldn't miss the river walk. Lots of neighborhood cafés, restaurants, little and big stores and markets. For sure, I will seek to stay here again.

  • Carol and Marc were perfect hosts! Their apartment is beautiful and well located near subway stops and many attractions! Our room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The hosts were open and friendly with just the right amount of involvement. Our first Airbnb was a hit ! Thank you Marc and Carol for making our stay such a pleasant One! Come to Texas, Y'all !!

  • We had a wonderful stay at the home of Carol and Marc in a part of Manhattan that is well served by public transportation and close enough to many neighborhoods to go walking to them. Such well known places as SOHO, Chinatown, Little Italy, Alphabet City, the East Village, the Ukranian neighborhood, etc., etc., are all a relatively short stroll away. The diversity of cultures and cuisines and languages so nearby Carol and Marc’s apartment is truly mind boggling and an education to experience. Carol and Marc made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. They showed us our private living quarters, complete with our own bathroom and outdoor patio, and individually controlled thermostat for heating and cooling. The bathing facilities even include a Jacuzzi whirlpool bath. Marc is a great conversationalist and someone who can entertain guests simply with his mastery of the English language and his world knowledge, including great insight into what makes the City of New York so special and unique. Carol was always there when we needed to ask her advice and to show us around the apartment. She was a great hostess, allowing us our privacy when we needed it and yet helpful whenever circumstances required her assistance. The bed in the bedroom was super comfortable, a great place to recover from the day’s activities in the big city. We were allowed to fix coffee in the morning and prepare whatever meals we wanted to in the shared kitchen. Laundry facilities are also available to guests. We should not forget to mention that Carol in particular deserves a 100% ratings for responsiveness on the AirBNB website. In summary, great hosts in a central location with a superb apartment in the premier city of the world today.

  • thank you very much Carol and Marc, I spent very nice time. rooms are very nice and cozy and, needless to say, surprisingly large. Carol is very kind and helpful about everything about staying. marc is so smart and I enjoyed talk around my work and Japan. (thank you for coming our exhibition!!) the last day, we saw 2014 Winter Olympics on TV together. I enjoyed the time and I felt you are the host family(host parents) of me!!

    Tomohiko2014-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Carol and Mark were incredibly welcoming and made extra efforts to ensure that I was able to find their home without difficulty and that they would be there for my arrival. My bedroom and bathroom were clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the rest of their home--which I was welcome to use--was as well. They even made the extra effort, providing me with an iron and board, telling me of a jogging route, and letting me know about local amenities. Two thumbs up!

    Trey2014-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carol and Marc are so wonderful and the best host ever that we consider them as new friends !!!!!! We totally enjoyed our holidays in this place! The apartment is amazing and exactly like on the pictures. We recommend this place for memorable vacation and we'll definitely come back :)

    Joris2013-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We are so appreciative of Carol and Marc and their beautiful apartment and add one more fabulous review to the list. Every aspect of our 5-night stay was outstanding. Carol promptly answered all of our questions and concerns before we booked and they even emailed us information about local events and attractions before our visit. When we arrived, it immediately felt like we were visiting old friends. We were warmly welcomed and invited to make ourselves at home and to make use of the common facilities at any time. Marc and Carol are people who love people; they are warm and friendly yet respect their visitors’ privacy. We shared many wonderful conversations and laughs. The accommodations were excellent and we much appreciated the quiet bedroom located at the back of the apartment, far from the street noise. The apartment is clean and bright, even in the NYC winter (loved the Jacuzzi after a long day of walking)! The room and bed were very comfortable. The private elevator and large apartment were amazing perks for NYC. The neighborhood is vibrant, with many restaurants and other amenities, yet without the manic feel of midtown. It is an extremely convenient location, with subways close by and within walking distance of many other interesting neighborhoods.

  • Jeff is the man !!!! Plain and simple .... great experience and will def be staying again when I travel to NYC.... down to earth guy who had great location and a master cook!!

    Phillip2016-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay! Jeffrey is an amazing host with great people skills. He taught me a lot of amazing things and helped educate me on some of the great legends of the 20th century! He is an amazing cook, really looks out for his guests, and is one of the most spiritual people I've ever met in my life. Also, he makes really beautiful scarves! The apartment is beautiful. Perfect stay! Would love to do it again!

    Caesar2016-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • I love me some Jeffrey! He knew it was my 65th birthday. He met me downstairs and carried my suitcase up. He had croissants and a French chocolate mousse desert with a candle in it waiting for me. And he sang "Happy Birthday" to me!! What a welcome! We talked for a couple of hours. He has a lot of info about NYC and loves to share and guide a visitor. His place is in a great location to get anywhere either by walking or transit. I have been to Manhattan several times and have done a lot of sightseeing already. This trip I was visiting family outside of Manhattan and I just wanted to spend the day of my birthday there in Manhattan. From the moment I saw Jeffrey's face on AirBnb, I felt the beauty of his energy and I wanted to spend time with him and so we did. He took me to a Sound Healing group which was uh-mazing and I made some new friends. I had a wonderful time and I will go back again. Thanks, Jeffrey!!

    Linda2016-05-25T00:00:00Z
  • Really superb. Jeffrey is a great host, and made breakfast every day. Truly I bonded with him, as well as doing my own thing and coming and going as I wished. The bed is comfortable and the room amazingly quiet given what a busy and central neighbourhood the apartment is in. Highly highly recommended...

    Andrew2016-04-05T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffery was the perfect host. His space is beautiful and provides respite in the hectic city while still being in the midst of it all. The room is quiet and the bed is comfy, plenty of closet space which I really appreciated. Jeffery is also just a really cool guy and easy to talk. I enjoyed my time here. Thanks so much Jeffery!

    Luis2015-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • In regards to accommodation and location the pictures that are on Jeffrey's site are a perfectly aligned. The home is warm and inviting very much like Jeffrey. Meeting Jeffrey was one of my highlights of this visit to NYC and I very much enjoyed dining together for breakfast where he would surprise me with beautiful exotic teas. I highly recommend Jeffrey and his home to anyone who genuinely enjoys interacting with their host and not just hiding away in their room.

    Samantha2016-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jeffery is an awesome host! Good location, clean and bright, excellent breakfast, great conversations: all with a touch of artistry. Always a pleasure to stay at your apartment. Thank you for making me feel so welcome :)

  • The apartment location is amazing and we had a great time. The apartment was as described and perfect in size for a couple. The neighborhood is awesome with lots of places to eat, drink, shop, and explore. Katherine was very helpful and welcoming. She made it easy to check-in and provided all the details we would need.

    Paula2016-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to all the best food spots, which was amazing! However, the only negative review I have of this place is that it wasn't as clean as I expected. Katharine was easily accessible via email, but was very quick to give us the key and leave (but she has a book of instructions to help guide you around the place). Just want to stress the fact that I loved how this location was literally next to everything!!

    Michelle2016-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine was a delight -- she met me to hand over the keys and I had a short yet comfortable stay at her East Village gem! It was surprisingly close to a lot of my favorite shops and haunts. Her place was cozy and updated. I did not feel like it was grimy or that I was crashing at someone's place. My NY friend who visited was green with envy at the unit!

    Audrey2015-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was in a great location close to one of our favorite restaurants- Serafina. The apartment was a great size for a studio in NYC.

    Connor2017-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay here. The apartment is lovely, very comfortable and in a fantastic location. Katherine was very pleasant and easy to communicate with. We would love to come back again.

    Luke2015-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying in NY and the convenience of the apartment in Lower East Side was a perfect location. As described in Airbnb the location had many cafes delis and bars easy access to the subway and getting ourselves into mid-town, Lower West Side and Upper Manhattan. The positives out way the negatives which were minor but necessary to mention so there is an opportunity for improvement. Katherine was obliging and left detailed information for most things we needed. Katherine stated that that a cleaner comes in to clean up after guess well I think they may have forgotten to do so before we arrived. A couple of suggestions: we found that the place was not cleaned very well, there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher, and the coffee pot was dirty and left on the stove. The matches left to light the stove did not ignite which was frustrating as we wanted a coffee after our long journey. Though little things they are not what you want to deal with when coming in from a long trip and having to do a clean-up. Though Katherine left us advice if the toilet played by jigging the handle to for it to flush, it was on the last night we were there and we had to work it manually to flush each time the toilet was used it was completely non functional the handle (we left a note to advise Katherine about the toilet the morning we left). It may be necessary for the apartment to be checked for all the above concerns before new guests arrive. Also it would have been helpful if there were instruction for the use of the TV as we are not techno savvy, it took us ages to figure out how to work the remotes. Katherine was an efficient in providing all the necessary information we needed while staying at her place. She was friendly when we spoke the night we arrived giving instructions of where to locate the key. I would recommend this apartment despite the few issues we had. So thank you Katherine I hope the suggestions will be helpful to you. Lorraine and Bev

This is a comfortable studio apartment with exposed brick that has a true city feeling. This studio has a newly renovate bathroom and kitchen with stain steel appliances. • Compact & cosy this apartment was just perfect for us. We also loved the neighbourhood & are so pleased we chose to stay in this part of Brooklyn. There are some great bars nearby & both Manhattan & Williamsburg are only a short subway ride away. Will definitely be back to catch up with all the lovely people we met during our stay.

  • This home was beautiful. Right within walking distance to the train and a bunch of delicious places to eat. It was my first time in New York and Michelle made me feel right at home. I hope to stay here again some day soon

  • The accuracy of the listing is almost exactly as it is posted. Most single bedrooms or studios will normally only have one bed. But for Michelle's home, she has an extra pull-out couch that was definitely useful. I think the only negative is that the flat is not fully soundproofed. But this is typical for most homes in this area. We dealt with this just fine as we weren't too tucked up in the home for long.

  • Kevin was super flexible and accomodating in every aspect of our stay. The room and the entire apartment are absolutely flawless! The proximity to the metro and the vibe of the neighborhood added a lot to our experience, and I can definitely recommend the place! Communication and checkin was extremly smooth and everythign about the room was highly professional. The bathrooms were nice and clean, towels were provided and the bed was super comfy.

  • Kevin is a relaxed and welcoming host, and the room/house was just as described in both the listing and numerous reviews. Great location for getting around, warm and comfortable bed, great shower, tidy and clean. Kevin was flexible with us leaving bags there until early evening so we could take advantage of the whole day sightseeing before heading to the airport. Thanks Kevin!

  • We enjoyed our time in Brooklyn. It was a nice apartment, and a great Brooklyn location. Kevin and Josh are very friendly, and were prompt to return when there was a room mix up. Overall, it was a good stay.

  • Kevin and Josh were super friendly and helpful whenever we had questions about the city during our stay. Kevin in particular was always within a text message's reach and easy to contact when we arrived in New York. The room itself was clean, comfortable and organized. We got a little hot on some evenings but there was a fan installed to help manage the temperature. Kevin and Josh also provided us with free snacks, coffee, etc, which really helped make us feel at home. Overall a great experience!

    Konstantino2015-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay in Kevin's place. It's a very clean place with all things that I need to make my stay comfortable. Also, Kevin and his roommate are very welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend Kevin's place to others!

  • Great welcome to great apartment. Even though we got in very late Jon Came by and chatted though the apartment, local area and helped with our plans. Everyone loved him, the area and the local feel. There was a bit of renovation work in another apartment that caused the lift to go out once - but unfortunately just as we were leaving - Jon quickly and very kindly got some extra hands to help us with our luggage. And this caused by our late check-out which was well into the afternoon! A great experience and definitely will be a return visit for us.

    Alonzo2016-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great spacy loft with lots of light and comfortable beds. It is well situated next to great bars, restaurants and close to the subway Jon & Chester were very welcoming And took the time to reserve a taxi and made sure it came and picked us up to go back to the airport. We shall return, no doubt

  • We used this apartment for a gathering place for our family to celebrate a significant birthday. The space worked well for our large gathering. The space was clean, sunny and spacious.Jon our host couldn't have been more gracious and helpful.

  • We have had a great time in Chester & Jon's apartment! It looks just like on the photos and feels like a 5* Hotel with 3 bedrooms, a cosy living and dining room, a superb kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The location in soho is great for visiting Manhattan walking or by metro and the cast iron building and loft style apartment were a cool experience for us. Chester & Jon were great hosts and very helpful with all our questions before and during our stay. Check in and out was very easy and uncomplicated. Thanks a lot for everything. We will be back.

    Xavier2014-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend staying at Chester and Jon's if you are visiting NYC. The apartment is beautiful and really adds to your experience of being in the city. The apartment is tucked away on a quiet street with stores, restaurants, cafes just footsteps away. They are great hosts - very helpful and are respectful of your privacy. My greatest endorsement is that I want to stay here again and again.

  • I have stayed at Apt 6 three times over the last few years and I always love coming back to this Harlem rooftop oasis. Michael, the owner, is always lovely to talk to when he is home. The space is close to the subway, restaurants, bars, coffee, grocery store, and I can still easily meet friends downtown. The balcony garden is my favorite part about staying here as I often enjoy breakfast or an evening drink there. Looking forward to next time!

    Julia2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at their places. Both are very nice persons and amazing hosts and I only can recommend staying there. They did their best to help us and gave us lots of tips and explained the area. We know a lot more now about the city and area and discovered great places we wouldn't have gone to normaly. The apartment is very clean, spaceous and just lovely decorated. There's nothing we could complain about. We would stay there any time again! Thanks a lot for everything.

    Verena2015-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. Michael, who owns the apartment, is was a lovely host. The elevator broke down when I was there, which meant a 6 floor walk up for two days. This was not within Craig or Michael's control and they were very accommodating when it happened. Craig always replied to my communications immediately. Overall I would recommend this place.

    Christie2017-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time here. It really is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures - and better! Only wish I could have booked a longer stay!

    David2016-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was exactly as in the photos - extremely cosy, elegant and so many beautiful books reflected my host's passion for landscape design. Being a keen gardener myself - the garden balcony was an unexpected delight from which I enjoyed being able to see Central Park. My room was a very relaxing retreat at the end of a weary day playing tourist, loads of wardrobe space and that bed was so comfy. Although I have a slight disability - the close proximity (2 small blocks) of the subway, bus stop, Central Park, numerous convenience stores and eateries made the location ideal for me. Walking from the elevator directly into the apartment with heavy luggage was also a huge bonus. Most evenings I was fortunate to have the opportunity to meet my host and enjoy a friendly chat about our day or the garden, over a cup of tea. It was a privilege to be a guest in your lovely home and thank you for inspiring me about my garden again. Craig does a excellent job of looking after guests on your behalf. I’ll be back!

    Sharon2014-10-24T00:00:00Z

Location, Location, Location - 10 minute bus ride (1 stop) to NYC Times Square. Bus stop is a 2 mins walk from house and frequency is every few minutes for 24 hours. Super safe and Quiet neighborhood. Brand new, very clean, studio apartment with a private bath room, kitchenette and private work space. The studio is renovated with natural stone floors, high end finishings and closets, throughout the apartment. Breathtaking views of NYC 1 block away.
The Studio is located in the below ground section of the house. So you will need to walk up and down stairs, to enter and exit the building.
The famous Hamilton Avenue is a 2 mins walk away. This has breathtaking views of the city and a great place for a night stroll to near by restaurants.
  • Cute neighborhood and the space was perfect. We stayed for a week and traveled to NYC everyday. We weren’t aware of NJ transit busses before we came so be aware of that. They were around $3.50 every ride but very easy to to figure out because of the directions Kam provided. The space was clean and had thoughtful things like shampoo, conditioner, face wash, and so on. 10/10 would recommend staying here. Also a heads up, the floor is really cold so bring slippers or thick socks.

    Salina2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This was a very clean, private, and spacious basement unit. We loved that Kam provided detailed instructions for using the bus system nearby and was also very quick to respond via message about anything we needed. Definitely would stay again in the future!

    Sarah2017-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and comfortable place next to public transportation to NYC. Kam is very responsive and easy to get ahold of.

  • It was a nice place, not far away from New York dt, it will be less than 20mins to dt if u drive or call the uber. Really clean but it was a little bit cold when we stayed in there, maybe was because it was a basement. But other things are really good. Thank you for the sweet home, if we went to New York again we might choose the place again.

  • Kam's garden-level apartment is spacious, on a quiet street in Weehawken, and a short walk from regular buses to the Port Authority. Good-sized study for those who have work to do (though the kitchen is a bit cramped). Kam's a great host, lives upstairs, and is quick to help out. Recommended.

  • Joe the perfect host, very kind, considerate and very helpful. Our difficulties were the cleanliness of the flat, especially the bathroom and in particular the toilet. It is my thought that as there were other guests in the place, the bathroom, toilet and kitchen should have been cleaned on a daily basis. This is the reason for us not using the kitchen for breakfast or cooking anything. The location is perfect for visitors as it is very easy to get to Time Square and other locations, including JFK Airport.

    Rinske2014-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Joe is an amazing Airbnb host. He goes out of his way to assist you. He truly cares about your well being and is always available to provide assistance. I highly recommend Joe and I look forward to staying at his place again in the future!

    Woody2015-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! Location is convenient to train and bus transportation. Carried our luggage up and down the stairs. Provided great directions. Even gave us tickets to a tv show taping! Felt welcomed since the first day I arrived, he gave us a tour of the apartment and even served us water without asking. Highly recommend it!

    Rosio2016-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to the subway. JJ is a great host & is very helpful. Enjoyed my experience :)

    May2017-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient for two people who plan on using the subway to go into the city.

    Dillon2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • JJ was friendly and very helpful from helping us with our luggage, providing us with maps and advice on how to get to places. The room itself was adequate, bed was comfy and we were grateful for the earplugs that were provided as the street below was quite noisy. However, the bathroom was filthy and really let down our stay. The sides hadn't been cleaned, there were thick layers of dust on the bin, windowsill and door and there were stains in the shower and on the non slip map. There were two other rooms being rented (which isn't advertised on the site), leaving one bathroom to share between potentially up to 7 people if all booked out, further exasperating the poor bathroom facilities. Access to subways is quick and easy and people in the neighbourhood seemed friendly, although I wouldn't feel safe staying here as a lone female.

This apartment is a 1-minute walk from 3 major subway lines, and centrally-located between midtown and downtown - offering easy access to most of NYC’s tourist attractions. It is situated on the border between the young and stylish East Village/Lower East Side neighborhoods, and just steps from countless inexpensive restaurants, cafes, bars, galleries and shops. A memory-foam bed, Netflix, and recent-renovation provide comfort and complete the authentic New York experience!
***** To book, please send me an inquiry and tell me a little bit about yourself and your arrival/departure. I'm also happy to answer any questions you may have. If you arrive on a Wednesday or Friday I can leave you a key but likely won't be home to clean your room until 6:30pm. I look forward to hearing from you! Best, Tim ***** Situated in a recently-renovated two-bedroom apartment (shared with me), your private room is furnished with brand-new amenities, including a desk, ultra-comfortable queen-size memory foam mattress, soft towels and a 26" flat screen TV with Netflix. A renovated bathroom is shared with me. Your room has a south-facing window with lots of light and a blackout shade. It overlooks a lively corner, which can sometimes be a little noisy (mostly on the weekends). I am happy to provide earplugs for your comfort. You will have access to the roof and its fantastic view of the Freedom Tower, the Chrysler Building and more. The room has its own air conditioning during the summer and its own heater during winter.
One of the New York City’s liveliest and trendiest neighborhoods, the Lower East Side offers countless restaurants, shops, bars, nightclubs, art galleries and performance venues for you to enjoy. (Pianos, Spitzer's, Schiller's, Beauty and Essex, Arlene's Grocery, The Box and GalleryBar are just a few nightlife examples). The neighborhood is dynamic, safe and has a lot to offer historically - in the past it served as home to so many of the city's immigrants that it even has its own museum (The Tenement Museum). Staying in the Lower East Side is easy, with food, other supplies and laundry readily available and close by. There is a laundromat less than one block from the apartment where you can wash or have your clothing washed, and a grocery store in the building next door. The subway (about a minute's walk from the apartment) offers easy transportation all over the city, though it's also possible to walk to many of the city's sites if you enjoy walking. When you are ready to explore further, you can check out other stylish neighborhoods nearby, including SOHO, Greenwich Village, the East Village, NOHO and more.
  • Tim is a great, friendly an very helpful host. The location is perfectly set, if you like to explore New York. The subway is just two blocks away from the apartment. If you go out for dinner there are plenty off small restaurants from all over the world in the neighborhood. Just be aware that you live in a busy area with a lot of people on the road, also late in the night.

  • Our stay at Tim's was perfect! First of all, he is a very nice guy, communicative, outgoing and helpful. We had some really nice conversations, about NYC, other countries, cultures, politics.... It was more staying at a friend's apartment and not at a stranger's place. The neighborhood is awesome! I would say it is one of Manhattan's most interesting and vibrant areas. There are so many restaurants, bars, clubs, delis.... You should definetly eat a Pastrami sandwich at Katz's. Also the Metro is very close. Room is exactly as described and everything was clean. Thanks again Tim for the awesome time!

    Sebastian2016-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tim is a kind and sensitive host, happy to answer questions and eager to ensure a pleasant stay in his very clean and comfortable place. We found the room to be perfect for our needs, with everything as listed. The bed is super comfy, TV/Wifi excellent and bathroom and kitchen spotlessly clean. His home is in a GREAT location on the LES and within easy walking distance to many fabulous venues for nightlife, food and shopping, as well as close to the subway should you want to travel further afield. We had a fantastic stay and would not hesitate to recommend Tim as a host, he is a great bloke.

    Penny2016-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • Tim was awesome. A gracious host. The apartment was spotless. Tim even went out of his way to get me orange juice even though he isn't a bed and breakfast. From start to finish it was a great experience. I highly recommend this place.

    Scott2016-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • I choose this flat for its location: I didn't know LES and wanted to explore. The district is a actually lively and exciting and the flat is very conveniently located in it, close to subway F and literally surrounded by any kind of shops and restaurants: you could spend the rest of your stay in NY just hanging around without being bored. The room is surprisingly big (for Manhattan standards) and very well equipped: full of natural light, with a comfortable full size queen bed, a big table, TV and dvd (I haven't even switched them on but I appreciated) and a whole empty closet for you with also hairdryer and iron for your clothes. And, for light sleepers as me, the room, even if on the street, is quite silent: great! The rest of the flat (a living room with kitchen and a big bathroom) is clean and quite new. Tim is a very kind guy, available to a chat or some suggestions and very discreet and quiet too. He was also very flexible for my late check-out and helpful in many small details. I really appreciated my days in his flat!

    Pietro2014-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tim is very nice the place is very convenience to go anywhere.!! highly recommended. ( p.s if you have heavy luggage you might need to prepare for the stairs, other than that all good!!!

    Yuchen2016-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Tim responded to my request within a few hours and was all in all very responsive and agreeable to be in contact with. Unfortunately I had to cancel my reservation, and Tim was kind enough to see that I got a partial refund from airbnb. So I cannot comment on the room, but the interaction was a pleasant experience.

    Lisa2014-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, neighborhood and host! Tim is friendly and helpful. From our communication prior to booking through our departure, it was our pleasure to be hosted by Tim. Our room was spacious, the apartment spotless and lots of dining options within a block or two. Situated ideally for getting around the city, the subway is 2 blocks away! I highly recommend staying on your trip to New York, and hope the room is available on my next trip!

We are renting a completely private 1st floor studio apartment in our home. The apartment has a private entrance in the front of the house. There is a private bathroom and a kitchenette with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink (there is not a stove however many restaurants are near by and deliver). The studio comes with internet, cable TV and and an iPod docking station. There are marble floors with a decorative fireplace. There are two beds - one single bed and the other is a single trundle bed (which means it pulls out from the bottom of the first bed). So one bed is lower than the other bed. There are two large windows that face the street with lots of sunlight. We provide bed linen, towels, dishes, an iron with ironing board and a blow dryer. Please note this is a small studio which is a bit tight for two people. If you reserve more than one guest we rent for a maximum of 7 nights. **This is a non-smoking property** Transportation: Our subways are the L and M trains to Myrtle Wykoff station, or J to Gates Ave Street station. Both stations are parallel to the house, and are about a 7 to 10 minute walk in a moderate pace. It is a 20 minute ride to 14th street in Manhattan. It is about a $25.00 cab/car ride to JFK, LaGuardia and downtown Manhattan. The B52 and B26 buses are just a couple of blocks away. This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a new, beautiful, clean, safe, affordable studio apartment close to Manhattan, Fort Green and Williamsburg. We are located in the middle of Bushwick Brooklyn. ***** We are a no smoking house***** * $100 security deposit will be refunded upon your departure
  • We stayed at Franck and Joshuas apartment for 4 nights. It is such a lovely place - and just perfect, if you want to explore the city. Subway-stations are only a short walk away. And Franck and Joshua made us feel very welcome. Even though we arrived rather late in the night, they were such friendly and helpful hosts. The apartment is cozy, clean and equipped with everything, you might need. Was a great experience!

    Sonja2014-06-19T00:00:00Z
  • The flat was super cosy, clean and exactly as shown on the photos. Franck was very nice and helpful. The travel connections are pretty good. Especially if you are not only interested in exploring Manhattan but also Brooklyn and Williamsburg, I can highly recommend this flat.

    Paula2016-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • We have enjoyed a lot in this appartment. Its just as you see in pictures! Clean, Confortable and Near to subway station, 40 minutes to Manhattan. I will come back here in my next visit to NYC. Thanks for your kidness Joshua and Franck

    Jose2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Franck and Joshua's apartment was just what we we're looking for, a beautiful place to rest our heads that was within a strict budget. The apartment is indeed tiny, but is furnished in a modern appealing aesthetic and during our week stay we never felt as though the space was too small. The subway was a very reasonable walk from the apartment. The neighborhood may not be picturesque, but I never felt unsafe even coming home at late hours and it's on par or better than most of Brooklyn (especially anywhere close to this price). Franck and Joshua were very accommodating offering to hold our luggage for us before check in. We will very likely be back again and I would one hundred percent suggest this rental to any of my friends looking for a top notch place on a budget.

    Kevin2014-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • Joshua and Franck made our holiday stay in NYC quite lovely. We arrived hours before check-in, but after a cup of coffee nearby, we met Joshua at the location to drop off our baggage. Every time after, whenever we had a question about anything at all, he responded immediately. The home was cozy, but my partner and I were out all day during our stay, and slept very comfortably there at night. Thank you, Joshua and Franck!

    Laura2017-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • It was a wonderful experience! The Studio was absolute fine. Clean and tidy. Just as you wish it to be! :) I recommend this Studio to everyone who wants to have a nice stay in NYC

Enjoy this cozy, colorful, second bedroom in hip Williamsburg! Our cozy apartment is just a quick 20 minute train ride from downtown Manhattan, and the neighborhood boasts an array of bars, restaurants, and shops.
We're renting out our second bedroom in Williamsburg. This charming room has a full size bed and a courtyard-facing window. It is quiet, spacious, and colorfully decorated. The entire apartment was gut renovated in June 2013 and it's located in a beautiful, clean pre-war building. Both the kitchen and bathroom have all-new appliances and fixtures. The kitchen boasts exposed brick and a sunny, courtyard-facing window. The entire apartment gets plenty of natural sunlight all day, and is breezy in the afternoons.
Our apartment is located in the heart of Williamsburg, right near two different subway stops. We're within easy walking distance of Metropolitan Avenue, Grand Street, and Union Avenue, all of which are bustling with shops, restaurants and bars, grocery stores, delis, laundromats, anything you might need. You'll also be a short train ride into the city as well. 20 minutes from Manhattan, the apartment is conveniently located between the J and M at Hewes and the L and G at Lorimer. Both subway stations are within 3-5 minutes walking distance. For those with a car, the BQE is just a few blocks away.
  • Thank you so much for let us stay. It was very lovely and clean room x

    Machiko2016-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Megan's house. The room is beautiful and clean, as is the rest of the apartment. The area is really nice as well, a lot of bars and restaurants and close to the subway. Megan herself is lovely and always there to help.

    Zuzanna2016-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • The room was clean and bright just like the photos. Meagan was very accommodating and I really enjoyed my stay.

    Florence2015-04-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay with Megan ! Cozy room and apartment, close to public transit and super well located ! We recommend this place to anyone who wants to go to NYC :)

    Florence2017-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Megan's and Andy's place for three nights - and I couldn't have been happier with my choice. Upon my arrival I met Megan and Andy, who were both very nice; Andy also helped me with my heavy luggage. As I was out most of the time sightseeing, I didn't see them much during my stay; but they were always available by phone if I had any question. The whole apartment was absolutely clean and lovely, just as advertised. Megan and Andy have my highest recommendations as hosts; if I ever get a chance to come back to NewYork, I will definitly stay there again. My best wishes to both of them.

    Maximilian2014-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Megan ist a very good host, relaxed and uncomplicated. The apartment ist just like described, nice and really quiet. It is a good place to start exploring Manhattan and Brooklyn with the subway, grocery stores and restaurants just a few blocks away.

    Janna2017-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Good location to explore New York and around. Megan is a super friendly host. Me and my sister felt more than welcome in her beatiful, roomy, quiet and clean apartment :-)

    Lieke2017-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place. The room is exactly as in the picture, and it has new mobile, good light and the entire apartment is super clean. We found everything we needed and the decoration is also great. We didn't have the opportunity to talk much with them, but Megan and Andy were nice and professional. They also gave us good tips of what to do around in Brooklyn. The only "bad" part was the stairs, the ap is in the 5th floor. But we took that as a fitness opportunity. We definitely recommend the room.

There are some very nice rrestaurants and cafes at 5 minutes walking distance and the area is safe and friendly. Also many little supermakets around the corner. The appartment itself is wonderful. It's fully equipped, modernly decorated and sits in a very convenient location with just a 5 minute walk to the subway and several convenience stores right around the corner. Most importantly, however, it features a lovely backyard with trees, a wooden deck and comfortable furniture. Nada is a kind and very attentive host which responds quickly to any question you might have along the way. Highly recommend this place and hope to come back some day.

  • Hillary was very efficient with communication, and we felt comfortable in moving in to the studio. The studio itself was comfortable, and although quite small, was quite adequate for our needs. We had 2 cases, and we could open them on the floor and leave them there without too much trouble. The bed was comfortable, and 2 types of pillows were provided so that you could choose your favourite. The bathroom, although small had a great shower and was clean. The neighbourhood is close to tourist attractions, and also to services.

    Vicki2015-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The neighborhood was VERY centrally located, and close to many museums including MOMA. Hilary made us feel welcome by providing detailed lists with information about food shopping, and coffee shops in the area, transportation, and entertainment. We also enjoyed being in a penthouse and far from street level. This is an ideally suited location for people wanting to spend a few days in the city. It is very convenient to have Whole Foods only 4 blocks away

    Rene2015-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Hillary is a gracious guest and her apartment is well appointed and stylish. We had a fun stay and recommend this location.

  • The location is great, the apartment is secured.

    Deborah2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Hillary's Penthouse apartment for 2 nights. The directions to get in were very easy. The Apt was clean and pretty quiet considering it was in Midtown. Great location within walking distance of many sites. The subway is only a few blocks away. Overall, it was a great experience and a reasonable option for NYC. We would stay here again. Thank you Hillary!

    Michelle2015-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is really well located, close to subway as well as many options for eating out in the surrounding blocks. There are grocery shops and drugstores nearby too. The apartment itself is lovely, the roof top terrace a rare treat in such a busy city. Hilary was super helpful in all communications, both in the planning stages and while we were in town. If we ever find ourselves in NYC again we'd certainly try and stay here again.

    Sarah2016-07-12T00:00:00Z

  • Rebecca's place is completely comfortable, clean , and cute! I really appreciate everything that was ready.

    Wendy2017-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Rebecca's Brooklyn AirBnB was great. For my 3 week stay, it made for a good home base. The studio itself is as described & the pictures are accurate. Being on the ground floor, the building can be quite noisy at times. A short walk to 2 subway stations, some people may feel that the area itself is a bit unsafe but I had no issues, even walking back late at night (use common sense!!) Enjoyed my stay overall!!

    Patricio2017-02-11T00:00:00Z

  • Great, affordable little place in Brooklyn. Photos are accurate. Perfect for a single person or couple looking for a place to sleep while visiting the city. Less than 10 min walk to C train. Very walkable neighborhood full of friendly folks. Check in was a breeze. Didn't need to be in contact with Rebecca, but she sent info ahead to make it easy to get in touch with someone fast if needed. No hair dryer or coffee maker but toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) and towels/sheets provided. Not too far from some fun bars and plenty of bodegas and coffee shops all around. Would happily stay here again.

Lovely, quiet bedroom in amazing Chelsea location. Close to West Village, Meatpacking, Hell's Kitchen, East Village, Times Square - all the best neighborhoods! Very close to the C/E, 1, and F/M lines. Live like a local!
Fabulous private bedroom in the heart of Chelsea! 1 block to the C & E lines, 2 blocks to 1 line. 1 to 2 blocks from great galleries (Gagosian, Agora, Claire Oliver), minutes to Meatpacking for nightlife or the West Village with its fantastic restaurants and bars, and 10 minutes from the always exciting East Village and LES. 2 blocks to the High Line park and just 5 minutes from gourmet Chelsea Market (if you want to cook or put together a picnic!). Located in a quiet, sleepy building, this room has a brand new memory foam mattress, its own closet with mounted mirror, and window AC unit (in the summer). Wifi is included. Fresh sheets and towels are also included. This is one of four rooms in the apartment available for bookings, and you will likely be a guest at the same time as other Airbnb guests. Adam and myself jointly manage the listings and will be around frequently, but no longer live in the apartment. Please note, the apartment is a five flight walkup. The kitchen is very big (lots of counter space) and always available for your use! You'll probably be exploring Manhattan and all it has to offer, but the large and very comfortable living room is always welcoming to return to. The bed is SUPER comfortable and came highly recommended from friends who'd purchased similar. Our calendar is always updated, so please let us know if you have any questions aside from availability. Thanks! Chelsea has hundreds of art galleries and also contains the High Line, an old elevated rail line converted to a walking trail. Lots of great restaurants and shopping in the neighborhood, short walk to the Meatpacking District, and Chelsea's central location means that other neighborhoods are a short subway/taxi ride away.
  • great location!

  • Nice place for an overnight stay.

    Alex2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a very nice experience at Tom's place. All of our questions and emails were answered promptly, and our room was clean and tidy. We arrived in the middle of the work day but were able to meet David outside his workplace to pick up the keys so we could drop off our luggage and begin to tour the city.

    Amy2013-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • As advertised on air bnb Tom and Adam are in a great location! We stayed for a week and found the apartment to be a good base from which to explore New York City. Tom and Adam aren't home much but are good company and happy to give advice when they are. Would recommend to other air bnbers. However be warned they are up 5 flights of stairs! (with no lift).

    Elizabeth2013-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Adam were great. I was in town for interviews and they were really flexible when I needed to change my time to pick up and drop off the keys. The room was nicely air conditioned which was a life saved after running through the subway in the summer heat. Their place was really clean and quiet, which I definitely appreciated. All around a great stay!

    Veronica2015-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is on the 6th floor without elevator. If you are carrying heavy luggage, it's not recommended.

    Frenky2017-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! The location of the apartment is really amazing, so close to the High Line and I really liked Chelsea. There are cute restaurants and a supermarket (even not the best one) just across the street. The system of picking up the keys at the 7eleven really works and Tom always answers very quickly. I didn't get the chance to meet him or Adam, but all of my doubts were cleared in very few minutes - or even before I had them, with the videos they send you. The room is comfortable and kitchen and bathroom were always pretty clean. The stairs can be a little tricky indeed, but is definitely a good exercise. Highly recommend the place :)

    Juliana2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect stay in a substantial 'quiet' room in a awesome location. Tom is cool, helpful and very accommodating. As an aside the bathroom is remarkably clean and well lit.

Gem-like, art-filled exquisitely-furnished south-facing studio, with exposed brick, high ceilings, garden views, two closets, and a hallway galley kitchen. Steps from subway. My personal home -- let only when I'm out of town -- with character to match.
This studio is my full-time home and I love it passionately. I rent it only occasionally -- when I'm out of town for work -- to responsible people I hope will love it as much as I do. It's got an ideal layout: a hallway with two (two!) closets, a bathroom with tub, a galley kitchen, and a spacious-feeling south-facing main room, with exposed brick and enough space for entertaining, sleeping, working, and more. The apartment is located in an elevator building on a quiet, historic tree-lined street.
The Upper East Side has it all. There's the UES of Edith Wharton and Gossip Girl -- the grand museums of Museum Mile, elegant shops, Park Avenue promenades. But Yorkville, where I live, has both easy access to this UES (the m86 is 30 seconds from the apartment), has a bohemian character all its own. Tons of independent bookstores, coffee shops with local poetry reading series, vintage and consignment shopping, great food. One of the few Manhattan neighborhoods to have "mom and pop" shops (you can find a local baker, fishmonger, 3 butchers, and produce shops within a 3-block radius!). One block from Carl Schurz Park and the riverside promenade.
  • We had a great stay! Thank you!

  • Isabella is a great host. She was waiting for us when we got the place. And she's very responsive when I texted her whenever I have questions about the place. I highly recommended Isabella and her lovely apartment.

  • Outstanding. 3 minute walk to new Q Line subway. Elevator in building. A+ communication with host.

  • Tara is a great host, always helpful and did everything to make our stay pleasant. Her apartment is small but cozy, and the mini kitchen was very handy. I think my only observation would be that the apartment walls are pretty thin, and the next door neighbors were a bit chatty at night. The location is great, a few blocks from the subway and close to many grocery stores and shops, we loved it! Would definitely stay there again and recommend it, the host and the place are lovely

    Livia2015-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • I chose Isabella's place due to the close proximity to the hospital where my mom had knee surgery done. Her place is exactly as described and shown in the pictures. She gave me a complete run down on her place and the neighborhood before I arrived via email. This being my first Airbnb experience I didn't know quite what to expect, but Isabella was always prompt in responding to my various questions and requests. Her place is accessible to public transportation and and the neighborhood is very safe. My mom and I stayed there for an extended amount of time and felt like true locals. I did encounter a problem returning the keys though. The Keycafe service used for key exchange didn't recognize the fob on the keys and I was stuck there trying to figure it out while I had my mom waiting in a cab with the meter running to go to the airport. I called the Keycafe customer service number and after 30 minutes was able to get one of the drawers unlocked so I can deposit the keys. It was stressful start to my journey back home.

  • Isabella was a great host and her place was great too. She was very accommodating of our arrival schedule and super responsive for our questions. She was also very thoughtful in giving us info we needed for the apartment. Her place is lovely and a great size for a single or couple.

  • The apartment was exactly as described. Tara was a great host, she answered within minutes and really wanted us to have a perfect stay- which we had. She also sent us tips for shopping and food which was Herz helpful. The location is perfect! 5 minutes away from the subway.

    Katharina2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • I very much enjoyed my stay in Isabella's apartment. The location was great, and she was excellent at responding to emails and text messages in a timely manner. I had no worries about check in or out. The flat had everything that I needed, including an elevator (I had a ton of luggage). I'd certainly stay here again.

Welcome to our garden apartment in Jersey City! Perfect for tourists trying to see nyc on a budget or for a longer term sublet, our one bedroom/ one bath is comfortable, quirky and fully stocked for you! A perfect green patch in the middle of the concrete jungle. Just 35 minutes to world trade center by public transit for a night on the town or a 10 minute Lyft to downtown JC. 5 minute walk to brand new Berry Lane park. 10 minutes by Lyft/ 20 minutes by light rail to Newport Mall.
Welcome to our home! We bought this two family home in JC ten months ago and have been working on both apartments to make them the perfect home for us (upstairs) and the perfect home away from home for our guests downstairs. This one bedroom/ one bath apartment on the ground floor is perfect for a family or group on a budget who'd like to visit NYC short term or for a single person or couple who'd like to sublet longer term. There is a private entrance from the street under the stairs. As you enter the apartment you'll see the kitchen/ living room with kitchen table, sofa with full size memory foam mattress TV and exposed brick wall. Next on your right is a European style washer/dryer combo unit, the bathroom and the bedroom is in the back with a queen size bed, dresser and closet with hangers. As you exit the back of the apartment you'll see the garden we've been lovingly working on for 6 months with the raised bed. Of course our guests are welcome to veggies that are in season during your visit. Feel free to lounge in the chair out back and enjoy our shady garden or enjoy and outdoor dinner at the table. The garden is also perfect for your furry friend, but please pick up after your poo :) We usually live right upstairs so if you have any questions/ needs don't hesitate to come on up and ask!
Our neighbors are mostly young families, in a typical urban New York/ New Jersey style. It may be a little closer quarters than you're used to if you're not familiar with the area, but everyone here is friendly and looks out for each other. There is a bodega around the corner where you can get sandwiches, meat, cheese, eggs, butter, snacks and some produce and a larger grocery store four blocks away. 4 blocks directly east is the beautiful Berry Lane Park where you can catch a soccer game, use the bike paths or let your furry friends run around in the dog run. At the northern end of the park is JC hooked and the factory, two of our favorite restaurants... all about a 10 minute walk away from the front door.
  • This place is just 10/10! After travelling between hotels across the east coast, it was so nice to come to this homely little apartment and be able to settle down for a couple of days. Katie and John were so lovely and helpful with everything that we needed! The apartment is a 2 minute walk from the bus stop that takes you to the PATH trains, that take you into NYC. Though it was outside the city, the train rides didn’t take long and the house was easily accessible via transport. I would absolutely stay here again! Thanks again to Katie and John! 😊

    Naomi2018-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here.. Katie is on top of her game and a great and thoughtful host. Super nice shower with great pressure, AMAZING bed, great night sleep.

    Susan2018-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's home was great! So many thoughtful touches and amenities. This was definitely one of the best Airbnb's I've stayed in the New York/ NJ area, would love to stay again :)

    Dan2018-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Katie is a wonderful host. Everything was as expected or better. A perfect place to work or play, in close proximity to the city.

    Michael2017-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Katie is the best landlord I've ever met. She helps me a lot on the transport and the tour. The house is spacious with very comfortable bed and lovely decorations and clean bathroom. Katie has prepareed many yummy snacks and wine and coffee for us. She even gave us tickets for the bus and light train. BTW,the station of bus and train is quite close so it is convenient to go to NYC. I will definitely recommend Katie's apt and I'll choose her again when I come to NYC next time.

    2017-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you so much for all of the extra touches as I was exhausted from my travels your place was incredible. I never even slept in the bed because the couch in the living room was so comfortable. I look forward to staying at your place again. Also, the neighbors were super nice and helpful. :)

    Jeremy2017-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent, comfortable apartment for up to two couples. Katie is very thoughtful, leaving wine on arrival, and helps with lots of good transport tips and neighborhood advice. We found it best to Lyft/Uber to the Grove Street PATH (can connect quickly for Newark airport), and also had an easy express bus ride to Port Authority one morning - stop is a close walk from the apartment. Taking the Statue of Liberty cruise from Liberty Park was scenic and convenient. Katie's apartment is spacious, well-appointed, and the bathroom/kitchen are great. We appreciated her attention to recycling, and local opportunities for groceries and restaurants.

THIS IS THE MANHATTAN YOU NEVER KNEW EXISTED -PRIVATE MASSIVE TERRACE accessed directly from your living room -Classic views of NY (downtown, water towers) -Outdoor Barbecue -2 large bedrooms -2 full bathrooms Soho is the most chic neighborhood in Manhattan and possibly the world. The architecture, the people watching, the shopping and restaurants need no introduction. Even if you don't end up staying with me definitely stay somewhere else in Soho. Don't be fooled by second rate neighborhoods. Better to stay in a less expensive place in the best location than vice versa. OUTDOORS: -MASSIVE PRIVATE TERRACE ACCESSED DIRECTLY FROM YOUR APARTMENT: 95% of apartments in NYC that have photos of outdoor terraces/rooftops are shared spaces that you have to climb flights of steps just to reach, this is not one of those listings. -Most Soho apartments get very little sun, are quite often on the 4th floor of a walkup buiding and have no view of Manhattan. SKIP THE DINGY LOFTS AND ENJOY ONE OF THE BEST CLASSIC SOHO LOFTS. -Enjoy Classic NYC views of street-life and back alleys. -OUTDOOR BBQ and plenty of blankets provided so you can enjoy the terrace year round! -Huge outdoor couch and outdoor BBQ all surrounded by the iconic NYC look. -No need to go to a crowded rooftop bar where you have to buy a bottle just to get a table, when you can just step outside your door instead. INDOORS: -MASSIVE 2 BEDROOMS 2 FULL BATHS -HIGH CEILINGS -Apartment gets tons of sunlight (dark shades on all windows) -Recently gut renovated -Decorated by an interior designer with VERY HIGH END FURNITURE -Mater bedroom: King size bed, 40" TV with Roku, Soho view with cutting edge designed bathroom -Second Bedroom: Queen size bed, 40" TV, and amazing Soho feel. -Super luxurious living area with incredibly high end furniture and classic Soho loft decor -Chic artwork -High end kitchen fully stocked with appliances, cutlery, glasses, plateware -2 full bathrooms -Luxurious sheets with super high thread count -Soft and fluffy 900 GSM towels -3 Tvs with premium cable, Rokus and fast wifi AMENETIES: -NESPRESSO machine and milk frother and french press with ILLY coffee. -Anything else you need, just let us know we love to help our guests and provide a true 5 star experience. So if you want to stay in the center of it all but still have an unbelievable place to relax within the urban jungle this is the place. -Truly unique one of a kind apartment. There are no other apartments on Airbnb that compare and something similar in a hotel would cost 3 times as much as we charge. We also spend a lot of money providing a luxury experience to our guests. Please consider that before requesting a discount. Airbnb in NYC requires us to be discrete. In requesting and booking this apartment you agree to keep our business private. As far as anyone is concerned you are staying WITH me and I am on site and present during your stay. NYC is my adopted home and I love telling my guests all the great places that they would never find in a guide book. Tell me what you like to do and what type of restaurants you like, and I will help you design the perfect itinerary for your stay. Soho is the greatest area in New York City. You are literally in the heart of it. Right in Prince, Spring, Lafayette, Broadway area. Favorite restaurants: Sant Ambroeus Jack's Wife Frieda Cafe Select La Esquina Ed's Lobster Best Shops: Odin Creatures of Comfort In God We Trust Blk Denim Supreme Prada and every fancy store are just a couple blocks away Grocery: 2 blocks from Whole Foods 6 blocks from Dean & Deluca N, Q, R, W trains 1 block away 6 train is 2 blocks away B, D, F, M, 6 are 2 (really short) blocks away J, Z are 3 blocks away A, C, E, 1 are a short walk. One of the most convenient locations in NYC for exploring: -Times Square 15 minutes (by Subway) -9/11 Memorial 15 minutes (by Subway) -MOMA 17 minutes (by subway) -Rockefeller Center 15 minutes (by subway) -World Trade Center Memorial 20 minutes (by subway) -Soho, Nolita, East Village, Greenwich Village, West Village are all walking distance Although I am almost 90% booked year round, I often get inquiries that I "lose" to less expensive listings. Although it may go unnoticed by a casual glance at pictures, I am willing to bet I spend more on linens, cleanings, nespresso, Illy coffee, toiletries, soaps and other products per check in than some hosts spend all year. I want to make sure your stay is flawless and comparable to only a few high end hotels.
  • Patricia was outstanding and everything was perfect.

  • We stayed as a family of four, including 2 teenage daughters. This apartment presents as described: amazing location, clean, and comfortable. Although the street is a bit threadbare and noisy, we never felt remotely unsafe. And the easy access to all downtown neighborhoods and trains is unmatched; I can’t suggest another part of town that I would have rather stayed. Once inside, the space was meticulously tidy and well-supplied. All linens were first class and the beds/pillows were exceptionally comfortable. After long days and nights of running around the city, we were always grateful and happy to return to the apartment. Lastly, Patricia met us when we arrived, and was always friendly and available for all questions, no matter how trivial. I would unequivocally recommend this apartment and would absolutely stay there again.

    Steven2018-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is STUNNING (literally jaw dropping). Really high end furniture, tasteful and fun. The apartment is huge, clean and well-decorated, tall ceilings and felt like a true New York loft. The beds comfortably sleep 6 people. All mattresses were excellent and linens and towels were top quality. 2 spacious and luxuriously designed bathrooms handled my family with no problems and made us feel like we were at a spa. The location is great if you want to be close to Soho, Noho, NoLolita, Greenwich Village, Tribeca and the list goes on and on. We managed to walk to most places which really helped us get a feel of living like New Yorkers but the taxis are in abundance as well and reasonable. The view from the apartment of the city is particularly amazing at sunset when the color of the buildings change and then the night lights appear (the apartment in general is flooded with sunlight throughout the day; not your typical dark loft). We ended almost every day on the terrace drinking a glass of wine and unwinding. We mostly ate in restaurants but one night we went to Whole Foods and barbecued on the terrace (easy to use and very tasty). Patricia was such a fantastic and welcoming host. She was very accommodating with my check-in time, and knows the local area really well and provided an extensive list of restaurant and bar recommendations prior to my arrival. Coupled with Patricia's recommendations, you really can't go wrong. Checkin was planned in advance and completely seamless. All of the photos in this listing are accurate (actually better in person)- what you see is what you get! The building was also very safe. Thank you Patricia- I will definitely be back on my next trip!

    Caroline2017-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four enjoyed our stay at this guest house. Lots of natural light, great subway connections, and modern high-end kitchen.

    Jussi2018-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely appointed, large, airy and amazingly quiet for Soho location. While the street isn't pretty, 4 subway lines are an easy walk as is all of Soho and lower Manhattan. Great beds and linens.

    Susan2018-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We just got home from staying a full week in Patricia and/or David's apartment. Upon check in, Patricia was very nice and provided us with pertinent info. The apartment was clean, updated and equipped with all necessary items. The linens were nice, coffee was available and washing machine/dryer was a huge plus. When we dug a bit deeper so to speak, there were some issues that arose. The plumbing is poor and backs up in the kitchen and both bathrooms with very little water running. Closet space in the master is very limited - my husband and I had to keep our clothes in our suitcase for the entire week....there is room to hang belongings but no drawers for folded clothes. Additionally, the apartment is very dark. There are large windows in the living room that are covered by very tall drapes. You can open them to bring in the sunlight, but the view outside of the windows is not (Website hidden by Airbnb) they remained closed and artificial light was necessary. That all being said, we were having a great time in NYC with our kids and the apartment suited us fine. That is until the last night of our stay. I texted both Patricia and David at 10:15pm because a party was going on in the building directly above us. I wanted to let them know that we would be flexible but hoped that it could be shut down by 11pm, as we have a 5 and a 9 year old. I was able to see that the message was read however nobody replied to it. After midnight, I was asked if everything was ok. Unfortunately everything wasn't ok. The party lasted until 4:45am! I messaged Patricia and David again at 3:30am with a video so that they could hear the craziness that was going on directly above us. Again, the message was read by them, but nobody replied to me until around 8am the next morning. We were put in a rough position because we didn't want to call the police and potentially put David/Patricia in a bad position being that their apartment is apparently not supposed to be on airbnb. Nor did we want to go upstairs ourselves and confront the massive amount of people that were up there. We expected that David and/or Patricia would have helped - they are close by as they popped by twice during our stay. David did apologize for the trouble but never offered to compensate us for the entire night of sleep that we didn't get. He stated that this has never happened before but we find it a bit hard to believe that this is the first time the upstairs neighbors decide to party until almost 5am on a weekend. If you are looking to stay during the week, you might be fine....but I would beware if you are booking on a weekend and value sleep.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Jay Cee's place while in town for a friend's wedding. The location was perfect! The neighborhood is safe and close to lots of sightseeing spots & restaurants. The apartment was spacious (for New York standards) and very well maintained. I would definitely stay here again whenever I come to the city. Communicating Jay Cee was a breeze and although I only communicated with him via email, he was always very nice.

  • The host made sure everything was perfect by the time i arrived. He made all the arrangements though he was not there and made the check-in comfortable. Location was good with nice restaurants around. Great value for the price. Apartment was good as described and shown in the picture. Overall it was satisfying.

    Vivek2014-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Cute apartment and looked exactly like the photos (minus the black chair). Plenty of natural light, which we absolutely love! Although located in buzzling Chinatown area, it was not rowdy, sleep was good. AC and wifi worked perfectly. This will be perfect for single travellers, as with the extra charge for 2nd guest will get you a nice hotel room in midtown, though Jake was kind to offer refund for half the cleaning fee. But what a hotel room can't give u is that Newyorker experience. It is right next to a Chinese grocery so expect some smell when you come in to the building (no smell in apartment), up the creaky stairs we saw several rubbish bins on every floor, which seems rather unsightly. The apartment was tidy and though not spotlessly clean, it was okay. What we love most about the apartment was it's location, 2mins walk to subway basically gets u anywhere in NY. The area is within walkable distance to the many cool places in LES. We were travelling for 3weeks so had 2 huge suitcases, our mistake for not considering mobility when we booked. But Jake was a very friendly and helpful host, he even helped carry our luggage up to the 4th floor. Check in and out was smooth and he took time to explain everything.

  • A cozy apartment

    Andres2017-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jake was very kind and hospitable. It was easy to communicate with him before and during my stay. The location of his place is perfect - right by the Grand Street subway, in the middle of the best places in Chinatown and Little Italy, steps away from great restaurants, cafes, and stores and in walking distance to New York City's greatest neighborhoods. The place itself is basic. 5 flights of narrow stairs up. The hallway smells of fish from the store downstairs and of the trash that piles up on every floor. The apartment has a nice little kitchen with everything you need for your stay. I was plagued with Mosquitos and with loud construction / generator noise that went on day and night - other than that, I can see how the place is usually very quiet. During my stay there was a problem with the bed which was broken. The host said he took care of it right after my departure. I can recommend Jake's place for a basic stay in a good location.

    Thomas2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment was great, well located and just one block away from the subway station, which was really convenient. It perfectly fits the needs of any tourist who just need a place to stay in NYC. I definitely recommend it! Jason was also great and really friendly!

    Anderson2015-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect if u want a nice NYC visit and stay right in the middle of NYC’s best areas with lots of restaurants, coffe houses, galleries and nice stores. The rooftop terrace is amazing! One of the best thing of Jake’s place is that it’s located very close to a subway station. SO nice when you’re tired after a long day of walking and just want to have a rest.

    Malin2018-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lived a Jake's place for a week, and loved it! The area is super nice, and it's close to everything - especially with a Metro right at the doorstep. Jake was very nice host. Very welcoming and helpful to point out great places to go. I already recommend the place to several friends.

    Kasper2015-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • The check in was seamless. The communication is great, this location is also close to BD train lines. Located in the heart of China town, most things are walkable. I recommend this place for anyone wanting to get a homie feel for NY.

  • Michael is an excellent host and his place is a big reflection of that. The apartment was very clean and spacious. Michael provided snacks, food, and water and any information I needed for my stay. The location is safe and really close to the train station to get around. If I'm ever that way again best believe I will go with Michael! P.S The patio is awesome for quality time with the squirrels !

    Nick2017-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Nice, clean space; represented very accurately on this site. Michael is lovely. He greeted us, offered to help us with whatever we needed and had fresh food in the fridge for us. The neighborhood is vibrant and the apartment is quiet. Private deck was heavenly. What better?

    Sandi2014-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Even though we first arrived at midnight Michael was waiting for us with great hospitality. There was water, juice, fruts, cookies and a lot more - nice after a long journey. He introduced us to the apartment and neighborhood. It was our first stay in Harlem but not our last: It's lively and nice. The apartment is cozy and with a great NY-wibe. The kids loved the apartment - features as the private terrasse and the high bed was a hit. (Website hidden by Airbnb) sure to start everyday at the local Lennox Coffee.

    Søren2015-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my husband had the pleasure of staying at Michaels while visiting N.Y. Arriving late at Newark, we didn't make it to the apartment until midnight - "no problem", Michael said, and when we got there he had filled the fridge with water and a bit to eat. Absolutely wonderful. Due to a misunderstanding from me and the booking with Airbnb, I had missed a day. Luckily Michael had a day open, and we made a deal to stay an extra day. We were very happy with our visit and we will recommend staying at Michaels any time.

    Hanne2015-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The room was perfect. Comfortable, clean and the host, Michael was wonderful. We were there with our family of four - Inc two teenagers, there was still plenty of space. Michael was a great host.

    Andrew2015-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Michael is an exceptional host! After having the delay with our aircraft with snow, michael was waiting for us despite our late arrival. The apartment is as described in the announcement, the lights were dimmed, the apartment smelled good, clean sheets and the towels felt good laundry. The comfort is present, free Wi-Fi, super tv, hairdryer...The fridge contained waffles, muffins, orange juice, apples, cider. There were coffee, tea in the closet, short for lunch, see even more. In the morning, the squirrels and birds came to visit us! The bedding is excellent. The apartment is very well located in a nice area, a supermarket and Jacob's restaurant side... the metro is only 4 blocks from the apartment and serves a large part of Manhattan sites. If I have to return to New York, I return with Michael!

    Katlen2016-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Michael made us feel very comfortable and responded in a timely manner to our texts and emails. The apt was very clean and very close to the 2&3 and a short distance from the 4,5,6 trains. The studio apt actually feels larger than it is because of the interesting configuration that Michael has assembled. There were clean towels and linens at our disposal as well as other toiletries that we were able to use. (i.e.) mouthwash, soap, dishsoap, cleaning supplies, bandaids, blowdryer, iron. This all made it so much easier to stay in an apt. Lastly but probably the best thing about Michael and the apt is that he gave us small snacks for the duration of our trip. top ramen, apples, cheez- its, a big jug of apple and orange juice and there were even fresh cut flowers! Man this help our appetites and wallets out tremendously! There was a great deck that we would hang out on at night and take in the nice weather. The neighborhood is an urban area and those that are faint of heart should not be expecting the upper west side. That being said, we never felt unsafe walking late at night or in the building. We will contact Michael upon our return to NY to stay at his awesome place again! Thank you!!

    eric2014-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • GREAT place to stay in NYC! Michael was an amazing host, helping us with directions, getting a taxi at 5am and caring our suitcases! He even left snaks, fruit and juices for us! His place is very clean and well done decorated! Definitely I will stay there again whenever I get back to NY! Thanks Michael!

The private room is on the top floor of a classic Harlem brownstone, build in 1901. It is gorgeous and comfy, facing the back of the house. You will have soft light during the day, and quite at night.
Hamilton Heights is a beautiful neighborhood in upper Harlem. It a residential community, the neighborhood is very peaceful and quite during the day and night. However, it is also home to some of the best restaurants and bars in Harlem.
  • I really felt relaxed and had good stay.

    Miki2016-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at Glenda's twice and loved it both times. The house is lovely, comfortable and the other guests are always very nice.

    Rebecca2017-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place to stay in a quiet and safe neighborhood. Did not meet Glenda myself but she was very quick to answer messages and very nice on the phone. We had a little miscommunication and checked into the wrong room at first but she was very nice and understanding about that. The room itself was perfect for us, it's not big but has a reasonably comfortable foldout bed for two persons. Only complaint would be the weak WiFi signal, which made looking up stuff or planning our further travel a bit difficult. Otherwise A++

    Robin2016-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I stayed in Glenda's house and it was a really nice stay. Her house is located in a nice neighborhood that was mostly quiet at nights except for the sirens of ambulances or firetrucks occasionally. The room was a lot smaller than I thought it would be and when I got there, I saw that there were some larger rooms, but it wasn't too big of a deal. The house was cute and I loved that there was a kitchen and a bathroom on the same floor. The location was about a 7 min walkable distance to the subway and that made it easy to explore the city. Glenda was good at responding to any questions my friend and I had.

    Maggie2017-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Glenda's place was nice for our short weekend trip. There was a mix-up with our reservation so we did not have any directions on how to check-in. We did not get to meet her while we were there. We stayed in the economy room, which would definitely be better for just one person or someone with a child. I love the location since I used to live nearby this listing. The train is also easily accessible. We did not have access to the wifi either, even though they gave us a "password". I think if some small improvements were made we would definitely stay here again, just in a bigger room. It is a unique place, with a nice big bathroom and kitchen. Which is perfect if you are wanting to pinch some pennies or if you're like me and like to eat a lot.

    Emily2017-04-24T00:00:00Z
  • I had a good time in Glenda's house. I felt me save, it was clean, and the room was comfortable! It was close to the Subway and i liked the peoples in Harlem. Everybody was friendly and helpful! I will miss New York and i will come back soon.

    Selina2016-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Good location, easy to get to and from public transportation. Solid stay.

    Kyrisha2017-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • I didn't personally meet Glenda but everything was as it was described. The neighbors were very friendly, the community was charming the bathroom was perfect and the location was amazing. The room was very small but hey it's NY and for the price it was of value. 2 females traveling we uber we rode the subway and even rode the bus...all the while we felt safe but plz b careful it's still NY. Not sure if I'd stay there again just bc I need a open window or AC it can get a little warm. However, thank you Ms. Self for opening your home to us.

  • Ala's flat was great in a really nice part of Brooklyn with some cool bars, cafes, and restaurants near by. It was much bigger than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. Also, the flat was beautifully decorated that made me and girlfriend feel right at home from the second we entered. It was also spacious, warm, and homely and was near some well connected subway stations which made it a perfect base to explore the neighbourhood and the rest of New York too. Ala was also very accommodating and responsive throughout our stay which helped put us at ease and relax from the get go. I couldn't recommend this flat, or Ala, more!

    Jonathan2017-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ala's apartment was very clean and a nice place to stay for a long weekend. She was a good communicator and met us to give us the keys and a quick overview of the (Website hidden by Airbnb) neighborhood was unique, like every Brooklyn neighborhood. Her list of "go to" places was helpful and we enjoyed walking around the area and seeing all the historic brownstones and old commercial buildings.

    Robbie2015-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Ala was a lovely host. She was quick to respond to all inquiries and very easy to work with. She shared tips of places we might like to go and checked on how we were doing. The apartment was nicely decorated, tidy and comfortable, located in a safe residential area, and convenient to the subway. Despite the weather being hot, the air conditioner kept the bedroom cool. We enjoyed staying there.

    Laurie2015-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved staying in Ala's Brooklyn apartment! The apartment was so spacious and has a cool and unique character. The neighborhood was quiet, and the location is convenient to the G & C trains into Manhattan. Also there are several good eateries and good grocery places within walking distance. Ala left a list of helpful recommendations which was great! We would definitely recommend this for people visiting the area, and would love to stay again!

    Susan2017-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Ala's place in Brooklyn is a great value for the amount of space and the location. She's also extremely communicative and was very helpful navigating the check-in procedure. Would definitely recommend to other travelers!

  • Absolutely lovely, with amazing decor. Apartment set in a Brooklyn neighbourhood. Very accessible to public transport and some nice cafes/restaurants around the area. Very good value and good location for a break in New York.

  • Assia was a perfect host, and her Brooklyn apartment could not have been in a better location. It was quaint and had all the necessities to make you feel right at home. She responded immediately to our questions via text, and provided us with suggestions when asked. We arrived fairly late from JFK, and she was patient and more than happy to wait for us to arrive. Upon meeting her, she provided us with a list of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops. The neighborhood was safe, and we had no problem walking the neighborhood even at two in the morning. Above all, she was unbelievably accommodating. She let us check-out late so we didn't have to carry our bags around with us during our last day in town. We cannot thank her enough, and we would without a doubt stay with her again in the future.

Your own studio apartment, full size bed, full private bathroom, closet, high ceiling, tall windows, sunny, NO kitchen but there is a refrigerator, keurig coffee maker, microwave, HD TV, cable, J, Z & M trains nearby, 15 minutes to lower Manhattan. Also you can try this link https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/15222861?s=51 Thank you :)
Have your own key to get into the building and apartment whenever you like. There are three steps from the sidewalk. There is usually parking on the block, I never have problems parking. Note, there is street cleaning on Monday and Thursdays from 8-9:30 AM, so you must move your car or you will get a ticket/citation.
Bushwich is part of Brooklyn, South West of Williamsburg. The neighborhood is up and coming, new restaurants are opening up every month, art galleries, shops, etc. There is a laundry mat around the block and supermarkets within blocks. Planet fitness is one stop away by train.

  • Walter was a wonderful host who accommodated all our needs big and small. Area is great, with the subway down the block and places to park wasn't too hard to find. Place is great for the price and loved all the good goodies that were provided for us. Thank you so much. If I'm ever in need to stay in Brooklyn again, you would be who I would call. =)

    Elisha2017-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Walter's place worked out nicely for us. It's a very affordable option to the local hotels, whose rates are pretty crazy. We had a red-eye flight to New York, arriving around 7 a.m. Walter was great to allow us to drop off our bags so we could go into the city before officially checking in later in the afternoon. The home is conveniently located near the Myrtle, Central and Kosciuszko St subway stops. It's around 40-45 minutes from the house to Times Square or Battery Park when accounting for walking and subway rides; a shade longer for Central Park. We came back late at night a time or two, and didn't feel apprehensive about walking home from the subway stops. The studio was a good size for the two of us. Plenty of power outlets for charging gadgets at the end of the day. We didn't use it much, but it was nice to have a TV with lots of programming options. There's also a full size fridge and microwave. The window AC unit cooled the studio down nicely at night. A side benefit was it helped drown out the street noise. (It's a fact of life that there can be noise, as Walter mentions in the listing. Mostly from motorists who can't seem to help honking their horns.) This was our first visit to NYC in about 10 years. Hotel rates were more moderate back then, so we were spoiled by staying in Times Square. This was our first time in Brooklyn. It didn't take long to figure out how to get around, and Walter had lots of great tips for restaurants. We would happily stay here again.

    Chris2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Simply the best host ever. Strongly recommended :)

    Mark2017-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first time using Airbnb, and honestly it couldn’t have been any better. Walter’s place beat my expectations, everything was clean and if by any chance you forget either shampoo or body wash the room has it. Walter really goes above and beyond with helping you with anything you might need help with. He checked up on me to see if I had any concerns or issues, my flight was an afternoon one he let me leave my bags with his girlfriend so that I could go to the city and come back to get them. If I ever go back to NY, I would definitely stay there again.

    Norma2018-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Walter's place was perfect for what my fiancé and I needed. His studio was clean, stocked with snacks, and had a comfy bed! He's great with correspondence, and replies back quickly. He's also very flexible with planning and willing to accommodate to the best of his ability.

    Ruthya2015-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Walter's was very comfortable. Walter is a very friendly guy who made me feel welcome even before I arrived. When I had to make a change to my booking, he was very co-operative and helpful. Also, he was flexible in terms of check-in/check-out times. The apartment is clean and what I loved that the fridge and coffee/tea table were well stocked. You also have a good sense of privacy since you have your own bedroom and bathroom (it is a studio apartment after all). The area is safe and very close to public transportation, so getting to Manhattan and JFK was fairly easy. I highly recommend Walter's place and thank him for a great stay!

  • The room is excellent and contains everything you need for a stay in NYC. There are many restaurants nearby, Times Square is two blocks away as well as the nearest subway station. We took this room because it is close to the Javitz Centre, but the rest of Manhattan is close as well. The only thing you need to take into consideration is the fact that the corner of 40th and 9 is 20 feet away, so you do get a lot of the New York atmosphere into the room, but then again, this is the City that never sleeps...Samira did everything to make us feel comfortabel and at home, she was really sweet and gave us good tips on where to go and what to do. We'd definitely go back next time.

  • Samira's place is just fit to one or two travellers in New York. Very near to Times Square and metro. Bit noisy since it is very next door of Port Authority but for tired travellers, it was just ok. It is actually NY. Near the place, many restaurants are there; it is hell's kitchen area! And on very next door, there are very good coffee/sandwitch and pizza place which very tasty and cheap!! (9th ave and 40th st). At the moment of check in, there was problem in elevator so first impression was not very good for me, however, during my stay (3 nights), it was the only one time to have problem in the elevator. I had good time with my daughter in Samira's place (very secured) and happy to recommend.

  • Good location but very small and noisy for me. I’m sure it was my mistake to choose this place. Of course is perfect if you are looking only for a room to sleep but nothing else. WiFi is great and fast.

  • This was a great place to stay for the weekend. The room was clean and quite, the neighborhood was lively with plenty of local markets for groceries/supplies, and it was a short walk to public transit for experiencing all parts of the city.

  • The building was in a reasonable location close to Times Square. Whilst being in close proximity to Times Square- it was rather noisy at times. The room itself wasn’t big enough for a couple with suitcases etc. the cleanliness of the room was ok with the exception of leftover food in the freezer from previous guests. The host was reasonably communicative and friendly.

This is a legal, 2-family home, permitted for short-term rentals under the NY State Multiple Dwelling Law. My romantic loft (750 sq ft, 10 ft high ceilings) in a gut-renovated landmark house. It has a big Maroccan tiled patio/terrace with a view of my garden. Queen bed perfect for 2 guests, and two floor ‘futons' allowing for a 3rd guest. Ideally a younger adult. Beautifully fully-equipped kitchen. Because allergies pets not allowed even if I love them. No smoking No parties
It's in a unique multi ethnic landmark/historic neighborhood that took me one year to find! One block away from the amazing saraghina, it's restaurant, bakery and wine bar and near bar lunatico that offers live music every evening. If you come from the country this is Brooklyn so sometimes mornings you can hear noise coming from the street because the queen bed is by the big window. The window is triple paned and the street is not very big but we are in a city and not the country. The guests coming from the country might notice the noice in the morning more than city guests. It reminds me of being in Rome as I am Italian, with it's food, fresh pasta, fresh bread. Many Italians have moved to Halsey and nearby because of Saragina s bakery, restaurant and wine bar and now the great music at bar lunatico across the street. The neighborhood, is multicultural and is just amazing in the spring summer and fall but loses its appeal in the winter as the flowers die. the A express train is a 8-10 minutes walk from my house ( depending how fast you walk I have timed myself at 7)and it takes you to the village in Manhattan in 17 minutes! and Chelsea in 21 and midtown 35. There is also the c train that takes you to brookyn academy of music or BAM and fort Greene in 10minutes and Manhattan. Across the street the bus will take you straight to Brooklyn academy of music in 15. My house was done from scratch, everything is new except fireplaces and brick walls. It's done with love. The light is beautiful! There is a bird sanctuary in the backyard beautiful birds sing in the garden that you can appreciate in the Maroccan tiled patio and squirrels play in the spring and summer. A huge new supermarket ( half organic) just opened to the right of my house ( 2 minutes walk). My house guide that I send you one week ahead will recommend restaurants in this area. You will find a printed copy there too. To everything Brooklyn can offer, Bushwick and it's art scene is a ten minute ride or fifteen minutes walk, park slope, botanical garden and the Brooklyn museum are reachable in a 17 minutes shuttle train ride! Saraghina, peaches, George And Andre cafe are around the corner! All the wine bars five minutes walk. Yoga studio just opened far left corner Saraghina. An Italian new bar ' bar lunatico' with live music just opened one block up. I just added a 500 speed internet wifi. It's the fastest we can have in brooklyn. So it should help with getting better Netflix and a more even reception throughout. The subway has two lines the A express and the C lines around the corner that reach manhattan in 17 minutes, bus across the street gets you to fort Greene and Clinton hill in ten-15 minutes too. On Malcom X the express buss to Williamsburg will get you there in 20 and on the way to Bushwick in 7. I recommend Uber pool or X as they are sooo cheap. The javitz center is four stops away. It has opened the biggest concert hall in the USA. Also can be used for commercial shootings, I have had many blogs, fashion magazines and small crews only, after inquiry no instant booking please. I was one of the first hosts on airbnb Paris seven years ago. I enjoy the interaction with my lovely guests and so far I have been very lucky to host great guests from all over the world.
This landmark section of Bedstuy is called Stuyvisan heights and it has a lot of history and great cafes and restaurants. I especially love Saraghina s bakery, restaurant and wine bar. It is a multicultural multi ethnic and a jazz Neighborhood.
  • The apartment is extremely spacious and cozy at the same time. Decorated beautifully and with everything you could need for a short or long stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and Amy let me with some biscuits which were lovely. The bed is comfortable and I had a wonderful time there. The only thing to be mindful of isnthat the walls are thin so you can hear noise from outside. Apart from that it is absolutely great!!

  • Beautiful apartment, comfortable bed and plenty of hot water. Up and coming area with lots of places to eat. Amy gives lots of helpful recommendations as well. Lots of citibikes for a quick ride to Williamsburg or bushwick areas and 10 min walk to A train for a quick 20 minute ride to heart of downtown, but personally I would focus on the many trendy, slightly rougher, and the upscale areas in Brooklyn while staying here. Amy was very helpful and quickly provided wine glasses and shower body wash on request. Much appreciated.

  • Good stay. No central air and it was 85 degrees inside. Amy had an AC unit but it did not in anyway cool the entire apartment. You basically had to sit next to it to cool down

  • What a gem this place is! Amy was so very kind and attentive upon our arrival and throughout the weekend. Despite the copious amounts of snow dumped upon NYC, we had an amazing time, which primarily centered around this fantastic loft. The light is amazing, the decor is perfectly eclectic, the bed SO comfortable...a short walk to multiple unique places to dine and an easy few blocks to the subway. Now we just cannot wait to come back in a different season and experience Brooklyn with green! We never once felt unsafe in our neighborhood and in fact met some lovely people on our walks. We will miss this place very much until we can return! Thank you so much for everything, Amy!

  • Amy's impeccably clean loft was lovely in a vibrant Brooklyn neighborhood, which includes plenty of restaurants, cafes and the train was a quick walk away. The kitchen is full of sunlight which leads to a relaxing porch. She left us treats and was a great communicative host.

  • I visited NY with my 11 year old daughter and partner. We enjoyed the space in Amy’s loft and the beautiful touches she added to make us feel very special. Amy provided us with details on how to access wonderful opportunities and was very prompt in responding to questions. I love Amy’s tastes..... she obviously has the heart of an artist. Amy’s loft was the perfect location for our visit to the ‘big apple.’ My only regret is that I didn’t get to meet her..... maybe next time.

  • Amy was a great host! We were driving to NYC and we were 2hrs late to meeting Amy. She was extremely understand and very welcoming. She sat us down for tea and coffee and made suggestions for restaurants and bars in the area. I would highly recommend her as an airbnb. I will use her again!

    Katherine2016-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed Amy’s loft. It was bigger than expected, and it had a cozy vibe. It was easy to get to Manhattan with the A and C train. And it’s close to cool places like Bushwick and Williamsburg. We really recommend it!
