“A wonderful biking/walking trail connecting Sarasota and Venice Located on the former CSX railway, the Legacy Trail runs about ten miles from Culverhouse Park in Sarasota to the Venice Train Depot. It crosses through Oscar Scherer State Park, over Dona Roberts Bays as well as a nifty bridge over US 41 at the Venice Bypass. This smooth paved trail is a safe route for bikers and walkers and is fairly scenic along most of it's length. There are shady rest spots along the way, water fountains, and protected crossings at Laurel and Colonia Roads.
