Situated in the heart of Nome, Alaska, Golden Sands Stables & Lodging provides access to the best that Nome has to offer. We are within walking distance of grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, gas stations, downtown Nome, and more. Our location is also an ideal spot for Iditarod visitors as we are both close to downtown and the end of the race, as well as near a siren so you know when the mushers are racing in - which gives guests plenty of time to put their gear on and see the mushers arrive! Additionally, we will soon offer horseback riding opportunities and are proud to be the furthest west equestrian center in the country. Affectionately nicknamed Carol’s Place, this home was purchased from Carol Piscoya, a well-respected regional elder who raised her large family and dozens of foster children in this residence. We honor her and want to provide lodging for the region and visitors in a way that would make her proud. Our most compact room features a queen-sized memory foam bed, as well as unlimited internet and a Roku TV. This room is adorned with local artwork, representative of our Winter season. Check-out 12-noon, check-in 4pm. We recommend that all travelers purchase trip insurance, or check with your credit card company to see if they offer it in the event you need to cancel for any reason as all prepayments on our rooms are non-refundable.

Trout Suite

The Trout Suite is the perfect spot to call home for your trip to Nome. It features a sleeping area as well as a living area with a dining table, a comfortable queen bed, a full-size sleeper sofa, two flat-panel TV, a spacious bathroom area and a full-sized kitchen so you can prepare meals in the comfort of your own space. Guests will have access to the entire unit and a private porch. There is uncovered off-street parking available as well. I live just a few blocks away and can be at the Suites as needed. We have vehicle rentals available. The Suites are centrally located in Nome. Guests can easily walk to the Iditarod finish, Aiport Pizza, the Mini Convention Center, Hansons, and Old St. Joes. Cabs around Nome are inexpensive and plentiful.

This one-bedroom apartment is conveniently located in a residential building near the hospital, elementary school, and downtown Nome. It is completely furnished and has a full kitchen, so you will have everything you need to make sure your stay in Nome is enjoyable. It was remodeled in Spring 2021. Guests have access to the entire apartment. This apartment is located on Nome’s east side. Nome is walkable, but we have rental vehicles available if you need them.
