This Roundhouse, with it's beautiful hand-crafted stone & wooden features & tranquil views, has recently been renovated & fitted with modern creature comforts. The setting is on a picturesque farm-property, nestled alongside the Walpole-Nornalup National Park, with convenient access to the Bibbulmun Track, & a 2-minute drive from the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. Perfect for an unique, authentic & comfortable country escape, with easy access to local tourist attractions. (@pedrohomestead)
This special and completely unique space was designed and built by our family and friends. A recently completed renovation has seen it updated with creature comforts. The Roundhouse itself is open plan, with separate bathroom and entrance areas. The kitchen is equipped with modern appliances and gas cooking; there is a dining area, a super comfortable queen size bed, and a large lounge area with floor-to-ceiling windows and 180-degree views of the surrounding garden and over the farm valley. You can also take in the views from the deck that opens out from the lounge area. A wood burner makes the place 'oh-so-cosy' over the cooler months. There is bird-life aplenty in the gardens, and kangaroos galore in the paddocks. The house one of four located in the homestead area, but there is plenty of space, tranquillity and privacy.

  • A lovely, roomy, open-plan house with a wonderful view of bushland and Walpole inlet. My husband spotted 21 different bird species from the huge first floor balcony. So glad we booked a get-away here. Jacque was a great host, with everything beautifully clean, and all amenities we needed. Our Telstra 4G reception was fine, and we were able to stream videos no problem. Highly recommended.

  • Great place! Would recommend:) Jacqueline was very friendly through message.

  • Simply the most amazing view. Like being in a continually changing oil painting. Great facilities exactly as described. Thanks!

  • Truly a home away from home. This place doesn’t disappoint, from the easy checkin in to the beyond amazing view - this place is a must. Location is fabulous, just a short drive back into the town centre and easily accessible from all the top sites. Well stocked kitchen amenities for easy cook in meals (view from the kitchen an added bonus). Cosy outdoor furniture to enjoy a cuppa or vino on the balcony was a highlight. Very clean and welcoming - thanks Jacque can’t wait to visit again.

  • The most beautiful peaceful location and lovely home

    Melissa2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great host and lovely, well equipped house in an excellent location with a fantastic outlook over the Walpole Estuary. The only negatives are that the spiral staircase may be challenging for older persons and young children and the absence of internet and poor telephone reception, particularly from the ground floor.

    Johan2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice location a little bit outside of very small Walpole. Very quiet surroundings and beautiful view to the Inlet-Bay and the marvellous trees and bishes. Great location to relax with much space and and a fantastic living room with big windows. Very well equipped kitchen and BBC, the best thing to cook by yourself, as the restaurants in Walpole are not very special. Comfortable king size bed. Very reasonable priced. Thanks to our host Jacqueline!

Wedgetail View is an Eco-house in the tree-cloaked Walpole Wilderness adjoining the Walpole-Nornalup National Park. A good place to join the Bibbulmun Track or the Munda Biddy bike track. The Valley of the Giants Treetop Walk is just down the road.
Peter Cooper will be your host. He will guide you from his place to Wedgetail View in the forest-a short distance away. Find his property on Dingo Flat Road by turning off the South Coast Highway (at the Valley of the Giants Road). Turn off Valley of the Giants Road into Dingo Flat Road. His property number is: 347 Dingo Flat Road.
Wedgetail View has a common boundary with the Walpole-Nornalup National Park. This is a natural wilderness area with many river and beach locations to explore. The Valley of the Giants Treetop Tourist complex is a short drive away. This is beef grazing farmland, on the edges of the National Park. Walpole has a vary large inlet with the Frankland and the Deep Rivers running into it. There is an exciting explorer boat trip "Wild Over Walpole" to carry you across the vast inlet system. You can phone-book or book in Walpole. The town of Denmark is 40 minutes away by car.
  • Amazing, secluded location in the forest. Lovely touches such as fresh garlic, lemon and eggs for guests. Great toys for the kids. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • Second stay here and loved it all again. Can't get enough of this space

    Susan2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really relaxing stay, out in the wilderness in the forest. Perfect.

    Kez2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is the perfect holiday home with open plan areas that are spacious with most windows overlooking magnificent views. There is an indoor fireplace for cold days or nights and loads of casual seating and other amenities. The best part is the sound of silence! (No cars, trains, planes or people...only nature) The birdlife is amazing including Red Winged & Splendid Fairy wrens, Golden Whistlers and Wedgetail Eagles to name just a few! The house is clean, tidy and stocks all the basic necessities to get by. Mary and her caretaker Peter are wonderful hosts who are very good at attending to any requirements or information. Would definitely recommend this house and location to anyone thinking of a bush style eco retreat that is still close to all tourist attractions in the area so you can be a busy or as lazy as you like.

    Carolyn2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, well worth the drive in the most spectacular setting, forest is close by and location is ideal if you want to spend time alone

    Magnus2019-05-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a beautiful rainy weekend which was lovely for sitting by the fireplace with red wine! Loved exploring the trails to the back of the property, backing on to the Walpole-Nornalup National Park. Thanks Peter for checking us in and showing us about, and thanks Mary for designing and sharing such a beautiful cabin in the woods!

Spacious and comfortable rammed earth home on 5 peaceful acres. Beautiful forest views from every window. Walk inside the ancient tingle tree opposite our driveway. Only a 7 minute drive to Walpole town and the perfect base for setting off into the Walpole Wilderness. Your adventures could include the Tree Top Walk, Circular Pool, the WOW Wilderness EcoCruise, Walpole and Nornalup Inlets Marine Park, Conspicuous Cliffs, Mount Frankland, Bibbulmun Track and Munda Biddi Trail. Enjoy your stay!
Open plan living area with well-equipped kitchen, slow combustion fire and magnificent Marri slab table to gather around. Three good sized bedrooms comfortably furnished with linen and towels supplied, excluding beach towels. Treat yourself with soft rainwater showers or deep relaxing baths in the cold winter months. Perfect for couples, families or groups of friends. If you are looking for that peaceful getaway back to nature you will love staying here.
The neighbourhood consists of peaceful forest blocks abutting the Walpole Nornalup National Park.
  • The house was perfect, spotlessly clean, had everything you could want when staying at a house (coffee, good quality pans/pots, utensils, etc.). We didn't feel like there was anything missing during our stay. Bathrooms were all clean, loved the big bath and huge window looking into the garden! Beds were all comfy, enough pillows and extra doonas if it was cold (which we did not need). The giant tree across the street was amazing and we were happily greeted by kangaroos in the evenings while sitting outside. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy some quiet time.

    Alex2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely family get away at Sophie’s place. Highly recommend this stay as it’s nice and quite but a short trip in to town for shopping or to drop the boat in the inlet. The house had everything we needed and more to make it a nice weekend away.

    Kadogan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sophie is an honest and open host who clearly wishes her guests to experience some of the joy that she has derived from living and working in this corner of the world. Right from the onset, Sophie's level of email communication was prompt, clear and professional and she was clearly engaged and willing to answer my 'out loud,' thoughts about what to do in the area in such a short time frame. Red Tingle Retreat has heart; it is a home with many stories to share I am sure. This wonderful earth rammed property has been dropped in amongst the native flora and fauna delightfully hidden with just the red earthed gravel driveway to guide you. There is plenty of parking on the property including a useful carport. The check in details were simple and accurate and unlike some Airbnbs, I felt immediately comfortable in the space. On entry, we were met with a 'welcome table,' strewn with an array of walking trails, tours and places of interest. Built in cupboards were fondly stacked with a mix of novels, magazines and encyclopedias. The natural light spills into the large open plan living/dining and kitchen which seems to be built around a tactile timber pillar. The kitchen is simply laid out but is surprisingly well stocked and there are enough utensils, pots, pans, kids' plates, mugs, plates and bowls to probably stay a month without using the same thing twice. Why Red Tingle Retreat? Well for me this is an easy response. If you want to be unplugged from your everyday life for a few days, be enthralled by darts of blue and blurs of brown, grey and red as the little wrens dance on the patio before vanishing into the abundance of trees and bushes, be inspired enough to wake earlier than usual to see the first rays of sunlight filtering through the trees, watch kangaroos in their natural habitat, witness a quokka (*yes, a quokka!) traverse the road in front of you, chill out in the house, trample around the property or head for the Valley of the Giants before sampling some of the local wine and produce, then this is the place for you. Homely, awesome beds that clearly agreed with me as I slept solidly for a change, a fantastically deep bath, a beautiful natural timber dining table that invites board games, chatter, nibbles and roast dinners with friends and plenty of opportunity to enjoy the moment. Thanks Sophie for enabling others to share a slice of this. We hope to return for sure.

    Tanya2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • The house is spacious with three generous bedrooms, two bathrooms and some outdoor space which make it great for a couple of families to share without getting in each other’s hair. Set on a bush block it was a great place to retreat to after a range of local activities. We took mountain bikes and rode into town a few times through the bush and could have gone on more adventures if we’d had time. I recommend some time out there.

    Julian2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • A great location in well timbered Bush lands with beautiful bird life and so quiet. The house was easy manageable with plenty of amenities , beds very comfortable good hot water supply and enjoyed it being rainwater !!! Location was handy and well suited to the town for visiting the area. We’d go back again

    Dot2019-10-30T00:00:00Z

    Brett2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful homely house and garden with so many extra lovely little touches such as toys, books, puzzles, games, outdoor areas and well appointed kitchen. Note however that the second bathroom is at the other end of the garden (requiring you to go outside to access) and the main bathroom would also be difficult to use for people with mobility impairments due to the height and width of the bath. Fantastic location near shops, play ground and jetty/inlet. Very clean and good extras which aren’t mentioned in the description eg heaters, fans...

  • This is a lovely property, it's well equipped, very clean and attractively presented. We loved the interesting touches of nature in the home's eclectic decor. • Lovely house - even more spacious than I thought with good views of the inlet. Everything you can ever need is in the house. Super location: walking distance to shops, 200m from inlet and Bibblemun track and yet super quiet and private. Great spot.

A fully self contained 2 bedroom cabin. With views from the lounge across the river to the forest. It has a full kitchen/Dining and comfortable lounge. There is a wood fire to make it cozy in the wintertime. Summers are mild.
  • Beautiful spot, close to Valley of the Giants and beautiful beaches! The cabin is very comfortable, and the log fire makes it even better on winter nights. Geoff and Vicky were amazing hosts, giving us great tips on how to explore the area. We certainly recommend and would love to return one day.

  • Really pleasant hosts, friendly couple. Our family of three, a teenager included. We loved our stay. Cosy, clean, wonderful location, excellent real log fire and tips of how to ... make the best fire. Quiet, serene outlook. At one with nature. Comfortable, homely log cabin. Grounds well maintained. Close to local must sees !

  • This is an idyllic spot on the edge of the tranquil Frankland River. The hosts made us so welcome. Each morning we sat by the river and enjoyed the mirror-like reflections in the morning mist and watched kookaburras, ravens and tree martins flitting about. On two of the mornings I was fortunate enough to watch a dolphin lazily fishing along the river edges for an hour. I hired a kayak in the early morning and Tony accompanied me and shared his knowledge of the local wildlife. The chalet was clean and comfortable and had ample kitchen appliances, crockery and cutlery. The rooms were all large with a big bay window overlooking the river. Having no phone coverage or internet connection was an inconvenience, but turned out to be a blessing in disguise; I re-connected with my love of reading and board games and just chatting. A resident duck visited our front door every day. These chalets are centrally located for trips to the magnificent giant tingle, karri and marri trees all around; the famous Tree Top Walk; the 400 year old trees in the Ancient Empire; the spectacular Conspicuous Cliffs; the stunning views from the top of Mt Frankland; Circular Pool; and absolutely NOT to be missed - Gary Muir's WOW Eco Cruise around the Nornalup Inlet. What a character he is. The best $45 I've ever spent. And to top it off, part of the cruise experience was to walk down to Shelley Beach, where we saw two pods of dolphins surfing the waves and catching fish. Four days in this pristine part of the country went by in a flash. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation and these hosts.

    Carol2017-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • The house is clean and beds were very comfortable. The location is perfect...seated in the middle of Peaceful bay and the city centre..both ways are a quick 10km drive..and most importantly, it took me only a 15 seconds dash from our front door to reach and jump into the lovely Frankland river..canoe..fishing...had my red wine by the river.. Vicki and Geoff were very helpful and accommodative to my family needs. they also gave great recommendations and guidance to nearby Mt Frankland, Peaceful bay and Falls..and Giant valley tree top walk..will love to come back.

Tree Top Vista Nornalup comes fully equipped with everything you need for a holiday on the South Coast, including a spacious kitchen, all linen, cosy indoor fireplace and a massive BBQ deck with both river and ocean views. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac overlooking the Franklin River, it's a leisurely 15-minute stroll to the pristine river banks, a 5-minute drive to the world famous Tree Top Walk and a 15-minute drive to spectacular beaches galore. The only thing you need to do here is unwind!
Our holiday home is a newly built, single storey, luxury pad nestled amongst the trees overlooking the old-growth forests of the Walpole-Nornalup National Park, the Franklin River and the Southern Ocean. A large open plan kitchen/dining/lounge with comfy couch, fireplace and spectacular Jarrah burl dining table greets you upon entry. Sliding window-doors that lead onto the deck can be folded back to create an enormous space for indoor-outdoor entertaining. Watch the birds play while you BBQ and then relax and enjoy your meal on the one-of-a-kind Jarrah long table outside or retreat and get cosy around The Burl table inside. The Tree Top Vista bedrooms can accommodate all guest types, with two king bedrooms (one with ensuite), a twin single bedroom (which can be converted to a third king room if required, please just let us know) and a bunk room for the kiddies. There are also toys, games, a large bath and a Smart TV to keep the junior guests happy. Tree Trop Vista is serviced by a large rainwater tank, filled regularly by the trusty South Coast climate, so please drink your fill from the best tasting water in the world. It’s also perfect for rinsing off after a trip to the beach or a swim in the Franklin in our outdoor hot water shower. # Please note the current photos are amateur - professional photos to come!
The South Coast of WA is full of outdoor adventure. With the Valley of the Giants and the Tree Top Walk at your the back door, the Bibbulmun Track hiking trail nearby, uncrowded surf breaks, spectacular beaches and great fishing spots there is plenty to do for active souls. If you prefer to simply chill out and unwind there are several wineries, breweries and quaint food options to explore. We particularly recommend the Nornabar (a 15-minute stroll down the hill) for a fine dining experience on a Friday or Saturday night and Tingles Bakehouse (a 5-minute drive) for great coffee and the best gourmet pies you’ve ever tasted! Please note that the Nornalup neighbourhood is very very quiet, so wild parties are a DEFINITE no no. But, feel free to enjoy a sip on the deck while listening to the sounds of the forest :) The unique bird life is another fantastic feature of our special home, so bringing pets is another absolute no no. Please just come and enjoy the local feathered friends for your animal fix.

Waterview Cottage is a cosy cottage which has uninterrupted views of two inlets. A quick stroll takes you to Walpole's main street. Visit the nearby Tree top walk or the peacefulness of our internationally recognised Wilderness Area. Or just sit back and relax with a book or using our free internet access to download a movie or catch up on social media
Waterview cottage has views of the inlet from the front garden and is a short walk to the water side. It is within walking distance to town and a short drive to most tourist attractions. As well as having the bibbulum Track close by. Guests have also remarked on the amazing night sky on a clear night where the stars shine bright. This is our holiday cottage so we have furnished it with us in mind which means you get a very comfortable place to relax and enjoy our beautiful "wilderness area"
Walpole is a small town with friendly and helpful neighbours. It is extremely quiet allowing you to enjoy the birdsong happening in the garden. The inlet is popular for fishing and canoe paddling. There are many walking tracks as well as the main Bibbulmun track for hiking and the Mundi Biddi trail for bike riding. Add to this the tree top walk, wineries, National parks and day trips to Denmark & Albany and you will see it is not hard to find something to explore
  • Thanks to Liz for allowing my family to stay in her cozy cottage, right on the water. It was so peaceful and really felt like home. Our only regret is that we didn't stay for more than one night but we managed to explore so much and felt refreshed coming back to Perth. Would definitely stay again!

Our holiday house at Peaceful Bay is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Set in the freehold section of Peaceful Bay it is away from the hustle and bustle of other holiday makers. It is situated at the end of a no through road in among the trees. It is perfect for family getaways and well behaved fur buddies are welcome. We rely on tank water and you will need to turn on a pump on arrival and switch on the hot water. The heating is a wood fire... old fashioned living.
The tariff is for 4 guests. Charges apply for extra guests - up to 6 guests in total. It would be great if guests could arrive before nightfall as it could be hard to access the switch for water pump in the dark! There are also many kangaroos on the road from dusk. You will need to bring your own bath and beach towels and sheets for either queen bed or single beds. ( 2 queen beds, 3 single beds, double futon). There is a TV in the living room, but it operates on a satellite system which we have found can be very fickle. We have DVDs and a set top box full of movies. Please don’t book if you are coming away to watch television as you could be disappointed if it decides to play up. We do have fantastic neighbours that can help out with it, but at times it just won’t work!
We have lovely neighbours and many live in Peaceful Bay permanently. We are located about 1km from the main leasehold area and shop. If you have a bike you can ride on the great bike paths to the shop and beach. It is a lovely walk though. The local shop does fish and chips and sells basic supplies. There is also a shop at Bow Bridge just by the Peaceful Bay Rd turnoff which sell liquor and other supplies. Walpole is only about a 10-15 min drive away. There is plenty to see and do in the area such as the Treetop Walk, Reptile Farm, Toffee Factory, beach walks, fishing, surfing etc
  • We had a wonderful time staying in the house - which had plenty of room for relaxing and a pool table which we made great use of. The location was great at the end of a cul de sac with outlook to the bush and it was great being able to bring the dogs with the property having an enclosed yard. We highly recommend this property and really enjoyed our stay.

  • I am writing on behalf of my visitors, who had a lovely stay in the house. It was very spacious and well equipped. Any issues were dealt with speedily. Strongly recommend!

  • Great location in Peaceful Bay. Very private. Adjoins bushland. Great man cave for the kids and especially our teenager boys. They loved the pool table. The place is well presented and the beds are very comfortable. The house has plenty of space. Highly recommend staying at this house. Re Peaceful Bay can take car on to beach and swimming great and if you have young kids very safe beach. The caravan park store has basic provisions but substantial supplies need to be had from either Walpole or Denmark. The former is closer. The fish and chips at the caravan park store are well renowned.

    Roger2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • House is in an excellent location and has everything you need. Good side access for boats was a bonus.

  • Great place to stay in Peaceful Bay. Beach shack with plenty of room for the kids. Lucky to see lots of orchids in the surrounding bush (right time of year). Telstra has signal but none for Optus (but there is down the road). However it was nice to be without the phones! Wood heater was great as it was a bit chilly and kept the place warm.

  • A HIDDEN GEM! Waalitchup Farmhouse is set in an idyllic location just near the Bow River. If you're searching for a getaway that helps you disconnect from the hustle and bustle of every day life this is the place to stay. We were lucky enough to be greeted on arrival by Kelli who happened to be at the property doing some work in her studio. For those who might not get this chance, there was also a lovely handwritten note tucked into the door to ensure we felt welcomed to her Airbnb. The perfect finishing touch to our welcome was a couple of beers and bottle of bubbles to enjoy. They were very much appreciated. The house has everything you need! The kitchen has plenty of cooking utensils, the bedrooms are set up with comfy queen sized beds and the living area includes a fireplace, places to chill out and a well stocked DVD collection.  The true beauty lies outside. The wrap around verandah provides ample room to sit and take in the fresh air and views of the farm. Sitting on the day bed listening to the cows and horses in the neighbouring paddock and the birds in the trees was a real treat. Watching the sun light disappear through the forest was a highlight. A short walk around the property allows you to get a sense of staying on a farm.  Kelli is a fantastic host. We listened to her hot tip of visiting the Bow River Roadhouse for our morning coffee and breakfast burger. Easy place to drive by, but honestly don't let the look fool you. The cafe has an amazing menu, the coffee was great and it is well stocked with all of your needs including a bottle shop (with no excessive mark ups on costs!) Whether you are a family (amazing grassed area for kids and adults to run around), couple, friends or a solo traveller this place will not disappoint. The only regret we have is not staying for longer! We are already planning our next visit. Thank you Kelli and Lee for opening the doors to this Airbnb and making it feel like a home away from home. We loved it!

  • If you are going to visit the Valley of the Giants and surrounding attractions, be sure to book into Annie Domek's cottage. Very comfortable, spotless cottage with a full range of cooking facilities and a spectacular garden to relax in. Terri & Graham, wonderful hosts with great advice to make the most of our short stay. We also enjoyed the company of Miss Tessa the dog and all the bird life in the garden too. Thanks again.

  • A lovely place to stay in Walpole just a block away from the hotel where you can get a good meal. Graham was there to welcome us and show us around the place and provide local tips. There were lots of thoughtful touches, and provisions for tea, coffee and a continental breakfast. The house had everything to self cater, and was cosy and comfortable, particularly the bed. The garden was glorious. Highly recommended.

  • We had a lovely stay with Graham and Terri. The granny flat is spacious and warm. Would definitely recommend staying with them.

  • Graham and Terri are wonderful hosts. Communication beforehand was excellent and it was lovely to have such a warm welcome from them when we arrived. Our unit provided absolutely everything we needed to make out stay so comfortable and the bedroom overlooked the garden which was a joy in the morning. They had provided the makings for a delicious continental breakfast including home made plum jam. Walpole and Anna's cottage are definitely on our list of revisits when next in WA - there is so much more to do and see in Walpole than we had realised and Graham is a mine of local information. Thank you both for your superb hospitality.

    Pam2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Graham and Terri are the bees knees and I think even the bees in their beautiful garden would agree that they are truly caring and wonderful hosts. Anna’s cottage is gorgeous with a charm to make anyone feel at home. We loved the special touches (we will leave them a surprise) on top of the basics and superbly clean place. Communication beforehand was swift and flexible, once arriving it was personable and kind. There were little instruction card for what you need in the cottage and cute stories to accompany your tour of the garden. The surrounding area is magical and we can’t wait to return for another stay.
