Places to stay in Norra Lagnö
A beautiful cottage located on an island in the middle of Stockholms breathtaking archipelago is only a short boat trip away. The cottage is equipped with a patio with sun chairs accompanied with a small grill (I provide the charcoal). The big balcony has a table along with two chairs overlooking the serene and tranquil view of the sea. Your boat will be just down from the house by the jetty complete with a ladder if you’d like to swim, fish or maybe just enjoy the quietness.
The house is part of a family compound with my aunt living in the other cottage. The island only has 7 other families and is very peaceful and quiet as there's no roads ( too small!).
If you're looking for that peaceful getaway on a peaceful island, then you came to the right place. As there's no running water ( a well close by) I'll provide drinking water in gallons. There's a outdoor shower if you don't prefer to have a bath in the sea. As there's no plumbing you have a outhouse 20 meters away from the cottage. There's a canoe and fishing rods available. The cottage is built on top of an old root cellar that also can be used.
  • We really liked this special place in Sweden. The surrounding is so wonderful with all these nature and adventures ;) We liked our little tours with the boat. We liked the terrace with the wonderful view and we loved the stillness. It’s awesome to calm down there. Ludvig gave us a very warm welcome and his aunt is also really kind. After 6 nights it was really enough without water and we enjoyed the warm shower in a hotel room in Stockholm ;) Tack Ludvig & Maria

  • What else to say than that Ludvig’s place is right in the center of heaven ? Magical location and very nice hosts. Would not recommend if you like your city comfort but I couldn’t have dreamed of a better spot for my holidays. Thanks again Ludvig !

  • We spend a great time at Annas cottage. It is very lovely decorated and having coffee at the sunny veranda was one of our favorites, as well as the beautiful view at the baltic sea, which is very close. If you are looking for a calm and peaceful place, you will find it there. Words can not describe how much we fell in love with this place. You can reach the cottage easily by bus, but you won't be disturbed by noise during your stay. There aren't any stores nearby, but in my opinion you won't need them everyday. The nearest store is located in Gustavsberg-a short 15 minutes trip by bus. We are really looking forward for our next stay. Anna is a great host. The communication was quick and easy. Don't be afraid of sharing her garden. Anna was always there for any questions. It was a pleasure beeing at Annas cottage. We definitely recommand the cottage. Thank you Anna!

  • Very comfortable little cottage, very thoughtfully decorated and organised. Lots of lovely decorations and details. Shower room toilet is small but this is no problem as it has been cleverly arranged. Water is hot and excellent shower. Kitchen has all the essentials. Conservatory is an excellent place to eat and enjoy the peace of the garden. Very peaceful location with lots of nature. We saw a Ed squirrel and dear near the cottage. Anne kept in contact and helped us organise our arrival on public transport. Buses to/from end of the lane most hours then onward into Stockholm at least every 10 minutes. Free ferry to neighbouring island and Waxambolagat ferry at 9.05 to Vaxholm. Location was ideal balance of remote and access to other places. We had a wonderful week visiting islans:Birka, Finnholm and Sandhamn. Also spent several days in Stockholm. No need to get Stockholm pass as many museums are free. Do get aan SE travel pass for 3days or a week. Very cheap and covers buses, trams, trains and some commuter boats. Thoroughly recommend Anna's place.

  • A little piece of paradise not far from Stockholm. Anna welcomed us warmly to her cabin. We were able to enjoy the surrounding nature. I recommend this place.

  • We had a great time at Anna's place!

  • We stayed with the family in the little hut that is very nicely furnished and located. We enjoyed the surroundings - forests and access to the sea via a little, public jetty - very much. You can go by bus to Gustavsberg or - much nicer - per ferry boat to Vaxholm. Stockholm is not far either. To recommend is also the Artipelag (go during the week) reachable by bus as well.

    Carina2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • A tastefully decorated small wooden house with a great terrace and a beautiful conservatory. You should have a car to go to Gustavsberg, from where there is a very good connection to Stockholm.

  • We had a wonderful Time at the cottage. The cottage Is in a very good condition and has a fully equipped kitchen. Fiorella was very helpful and gave us good Tipps during our stay. After 5 days we‘re super relaxed and sad to leave this cosy place. Thanks Fiorella for your great hospitality.

    Christina2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing stay at Fiorella's. So beautiful, clean and picturesque. Fiorella is a really helpful host and adds perfect extra touches (such as candles for the hot tub area and swimwear - which saved us the hassle of having to dry ours ready to pack again). Our stay was made even more magical by being fortunate enough to be there when the first snow of the year fell. Would definitely recommend staying here in the snow, it really is beautiful. Cannot fault it. Sophie & James - UK. Stayed 26th Feb - 28th Feb 2020.

    Sophie2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Such a great getaway! Fiorella has great communication and was helpful in every way. We loved the hot tub and sauna

  • Beautiful cabin in a beautiful location. Would very much like to return some day. Worth the trip!

    Peter2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really good experience staying at Fiorella´s cottage. Everything is as described and as in the pictures. Private and secluded place, close to the sea, fireplace, sauna and all the other details and amenities made it an enjoyable experience. You are out of the city in the woods but also close enough to make it to the city by car or by bus ( ~30 min in total door2door) from the nearest shopping center which is only 5km away towards the highway. 100 % recommended for couples.

    Marcus2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • The small hut of Fiorella is really beautifully decorated and has everything you need for a relaxing time! The definite highlight is of course the sauna and the hot tub. It takes time to start the hot tub, but it's worth it. With a nice tea by the fireplace, time flies by! A tip: go shopping beforehand and ensure enough firewood (at least in the cold months). If you don't arrive by car, the paths are very long (approx. 45 minutes on foot to the supermarket). The bus connections are good too, just a little more expensive. It was an all-round wonderful holiday and thanks to Fiorella for the nice hospitality!

Our house is situated near the Baltic sea in the beautiful Archipelago. Its a house with a big living room and kitchen and three bedrooms with 6 beds. It has a big garden with places for dinner or resting. The sea is only one minute away with a bathing place (jetty) for you and your family. Golftrack only 5 minute and its easy to come to Stockholm by car or by bus, only 20-30 minutes
Our house is typical swedish with light colors and open spaces
Norra Lagno is a very old place with beautiful old houses. Nowadays there is also new modern houses. The unique is that you live close to the nature and the sea and in less than half an hour you are in the middle of Stockholm.
  • Comfortable, fresh and airy! At Jill there are all amenities and the kitchen is extremely well equipped! The house is so fresh and tidy, the terrace has sun from morning to evening and the house is just a few minutes walk to a small jetty where you can swim or take a little tour in Jill's rowing boat. Wi-fi was fast and Jill has a large TV with good selection. Jill quickly answered my questions both before and during our stay and gave great recommendations. Thank you so much for a great week!

    Anna-Karin2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located in the archipelago about 25 km from the center of Stockholm. From Gustavsberg (about 5 km) take the blue bus no. 474 to the terminus (Slussen) directly to centrum. This is possible with the Travelcard, which allows you to use all means of transport in Stockholm. The house of Jill is about 1 minute away from the jetty. It leaves nothing to be desired. The equipment is great. Starting with a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, enough tableware and much more. On the terrace (from the kitchen to commit) is a large table with 6 chairs, a grill and a lounge. One bedroom is on the living level (here we slept grandma and grandpa) the other two are in the lower floor (mom, dad and the two girls) and have direct access to the beautiful garden. Everything is very lovingly decorated and you feel right at home from the start. We spent a great week there and felt very comfortable.

    Susanne2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had a magical time in Jill’s house everything was perfect we felt so comfortable and at home. We enjoyed quiet and restful night and great evenings by the fireplace. There was nothing we missed and Jill made sure everything was going smoothly during our stay. It was an awesome vacation!!

    Romain Et Caroline2019-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Together with my family I stayed over Christmas in Jill’s house and we were more than satisfied with our choice. There was absolutely nothing we had missed as the house provides really everything you can wish for. We could even set up a Christmas tree and Jill was happy to help us out on the decoration as my family flew in from Germany. We want to thank you for our wonderful time at Norra Långö and wish you the best for 2019!

  • We were very lucky to rent Jill and her husband's house for our stay in Stockholm. The accommodation is located 20 km outside the city surrounded by nature nearby the sea. To get to the house, it is recommended to rent a car. The accommodation leaves nothing to be desired, starting with gorgeous furnishings, all conceivable household appliances, comfortable beds up to a beautiful terrace where you can also grill in summer. We felt very comfortable in Norra Lagnö and even our two little Yorkshire Terriers were welcome in the house.

    Cornelia2018-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • The house of Jill is located in a very quiet street outside Gustavsberg. It looks more like a nature reserve with a typical Swedish house here and there. Very atmospheric and relaxed atmosphere. The house is very nice and cozy. A beautiful kitchen and a cozy living room. We were sitting on the adjoining balcony through the beautiful weather. In the house everything is there that you can think of. We were received very hospitably by Jill's husband. It is about a minute walk to the jetty where you can swim and where we could have a rowing boat. Beautiful view over the bay. From the house in 30 minutes in Stockholm. Also a trip to islands like Sandhamn and Grinda are easy to do from here. A nice area for walking and cycling. You often see deer and sometimes elk in the evening! Our children aged 17, 15 and 11 also had a wonderful week in the house of Jill!

This is a unique house 5 meters from the sea with a spacious private dock, perfect for barbecues. The house offers lovely view in 3 directions. Accessable with car, 25 min from city or with boatroads of Vaxholmsbolaget. The fishing here is great!
This house is perfect for sociallife and having a good time together with family and friends. The house offers private big dock (suitable also for sailboats) were barbecues can be very nice as well as our water offer excellent fishing.
  • The location directly at the seaside is very beautiful. The house was very clean and communication with the host was smooth. Only some small things. Be aware if you are more people, that water needs some time to be produced. If you are in the sauna there is no real cold water for showering, however the sea is at the corner ;-)

    Bernd2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The images don’t do justice to the accomodation! Great kitchen, beautifull views and a sauna with a view on the river. Our host was kind and helpfull. A real accomodation if you’re looking for a retreat.

    Daan2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's place was great. Right on the edge of the water, so that it almost feels like you're staying on a boat. Lovely big kitchen/diner/sitting room with views on all sides. A perfect place to watch the ferries and cruise ships going past. There's loads of outside space (patio/decking/terraces) that would be lovely in summer.

    Mike2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Sara's place was perfect for our long, relaxing weekend. It's just removed from the city, but accessible enough to activities things really easy if you want to get out an explore. The house is cozy with the fireplace and sauna, and of course beautiful views from being situated right on the water. Would highly recommend!

    Cara2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The home is a beautiful modern home with a fantastic location. It lives much better than the pictures! A great place. Perfect sauna and ferries!

    David2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Saras amazing home in the archipelago. The photos in the ad doesn't do the place justice. It was everything we wanted for a long weekend away from work and stress of the big city. Communication with Sara was flawless and she made us feel very welcome. Would definitely come back, again and again and again...

    Christopher2018-11-25T00:00:00Z

Look like it was recently refurbished and has all the amenities you can wish for, so warm and cosy, with beautiful bathroom and extra candles for atmosphere. The location is great especially if like us you don't have a car as there is a supermarket and several restaurants 5 min walk away. It is also very easy access from Stockholm. Charlottenberg Strand offers a genuine archipelago experience which is very rare today. The cottage "Strandstugan" is offered on a large seafront property bordering a wonderful oak forest, on the south coast of Rindö in the Stockholm archipelago.
Charlottenberg Strand is situated on a large seafront property bordering a beautiful oak forest, on the south coast of Rindö island in the Stockholm archipelago. The property has over 100 meters of coastline facing directly south, including a newly-built dock. Charlottenberg Strand offers accommodation in the cottage "Strandstugan" on a daily to weekly basis. "Strandstugan," with 30 square meters (330 square feet), is situated only a few steps from the sea.
The south coast of Rindö is a wonderful area, in the middle of the Stockholm archipelago yet with car and bus access. You can even take the "Waxholm" passenger boats to and from the nearby jetty "Vegabryggan" (15 minute walk from the property) all the way to Stockholm or farther out into the archipelago!
  • Thank u for the wonderful Airbnb! We had the best time in rindö! The kitchen is well equipped and all rooms are super cozy and detailed. The whole Airbnb is very clean. So it’s not that difficult to feel like home. We would come back every time!

  • The cottage is perfect for those who want to get close to nature and the sea. The boat sauna is amazing!

    Axel2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful, quirky and atmospheric cabin. We were told it is over a century old, and it is very well cared for anc neat as a pin. The views over the granite rocks and water are beautiful, and the outside toilet and rustic shower were genuinely part of the charm (and very warm). We were there in OCtober, and the heaters kept us nicely warm. There is no fire, but the sauna boat on the lake is 200kronor to use and was great. We downloaded the naturkarten ap and found local hikes in surrounding islands. A wonderful and relaxing stay.

    Helen2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • So quiet and beautiful place in front of the sea ! Cosy like home. We were warm welcomed by Christopher. The sauna on the boat is an experience to try after a bike ride on the island. We already recommend the adress to one of our friend ! Thank you.

    Aline2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is sooo lovely! We had the most amazing time on Rindö and one week felt like two in this peaceful environment! The sauna boat made the authentic Swedish experience complete :) One recommendation regarding supermarkets: go to the Coop on Vaxholm! It’s a bit cheaper than the other supermarket on Vaxholm and the supermarket on Rindö.

    Piers2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is really special cottage in a beautiful setting with amazing views of the water. You can watch the boats coming and going, swim off the dock, take a sauna or hire Christopher to take you on a boating excursion around the islands. You are close to town and restaurants but in a totally tranquil environment.

  • Fantastic views within just a very short distance. The house itself sees a small bit of the sea, but you can get to beutiful scenery within footsteps. If you love sea, trees and a bit of mountains, this place is for you. The house was super clean. Ikea furnishing, but we basically found everything we would need for our stay. The only problem we had was that the castles in Vaxholm were both closed in the weekend (this is not related to the house itself though)

  • We really enjoyed the stay. Agneta made it very easy for us even though we made a last minute booking. The place was nice, cozy and clean. From there we took many nice walks through the beautiful archipelago always returning to a warm and cozy "home".

Authentically Scandinavian decorated wooden cabin set 1 meter from the Baltic sea, giving you breathtaking sea views. Only 1.5h with ferry from Sthlm C or 50m by car + 6m with ferry from mainland, yet completely secluded in nature, this secluded property is an urban retreat like no other. The cabin provides an intimate, simple and restful retreat for 2-3 people. Fall asleep to the sound of waves. Grill marshmallows by the sea. Watch the stars in jacuzzi for a fee (booking required).
The cabin has a Scandinavian nature - calming, chic and cozy. Located on an island and situated 1 meter from the sea within the heart of Stockholm’s Archipelago, the cabin is a hidden gem. What could be better than falling asleep to the sound of waves and waking up to breathtaking sea view with swans passing by on a daily basis all year round - all within a direct ferry line 1.5 hours from Stockholm Center or 6 minutes with ferry from mainland? The living/dining room is filled with Scandinavian furnishings, antique ornaments and handmade décor including 70 years old boat steering wheel, seashells, handmade tables and candles in all corners. The couch turns into a 160cm sized bed within a couple seconds and across the room is the dining area with a table and four chairs and big windows with sea view. The small kitchen is connected to the dining and living room area and has everything you need to make delicious meals, oven, stove, fridge, freezer, sink etc. The heater is in this room, a portable oil radiator heater. Fast wifi and a small projector in living-room that's connected to Chromecast with Netflix. The bedroom is small and cozy in size with a 120cm bed, hangers and wooden boxes for storage. The terrace surrounds the cabin, the left side with an outdoor table and chairs with the sea 1 meter from you on one side and blueberry pastures on the other side. This outdoor area is perfect for a glass of wine in the evening with beautiful sunsets as the sun sets on this side. The outdoor shower is here as well with running hot water; a shower with a view at its finest. The right side of the terrace has a roof, there are two stools here for a cup of tea out on a rainy day and a small BBQ to have grilled dinners. The outdoor toilet lies next to here in its own wooden room, with glowey lights and a small heater that both turn on from sensors when you open the bathroom door. Your private doc is in front of the house, where you will see nothing other than water, islands from a distance and various boats/swans/seals passing by. I have occasionally seen the Northern Lights from here, although it is a rare sight, if you happen to be here when it shows you couldn't be in a more magical surrounding for the occasion. A few meters from the cabin is a bonfire on smooth rocks 2 meters from the sea, making it the perfect evening occasion to stargaze or grill marshmallows. Blueberries and apples are on property which you are free to pick on season. 50 meters from the cabin is another dock with a jacuzzi where you can book for a fee all year round (please request in booking as it can take 2 days to heat up). Enjoy the elements during the day under 41 degrees with only the open sea infront of you, or watch the stars while drinking bubbles in the bubbles.
The island of Vårholma is 3km long and 1km wide, making it the perfect size for beautiful small hikes offering you various sorts of nature and different types of cottages. On the island there are three ferry docks, a common swimming dock and a dance scene used for Midsummers Eve. During the winter it is common to not see any inhabitants on the island on weekdays, and some on the weekends, which provides you peace and tranquility. Mushrooms and blueberries grow wild on the island. Deers are often seen near the cabin, on the property and around the island. Seals can occasionally, during season, be seen from the dining table popping their head up from the sea.
  • I really recommend this cabin by the sea because it’s very amazing and charming place. We were very surprised how romantic place it is. Everything was perfect, Juliet was very helpful and nice.

  • Super cozy cabin with an amazing view! Juliet is a great host

  • This is really an Oasis, every details are lovely planned and the waves sound in the night is a great lullaby.

  • We had a magical stay at Juliet’s cabin situated on the edge of the Baltic Sea (literally 2m from the water). The interior has been very tastefully decorated and lit with cosy lights and lots of candles. Juliet and her Boyfriend, Brother and wider family made us feel very welcome and were extremely helpful and ready to answer any questions we had. They really went above and beyond to make our stay great! The island itself is a quiet paradise with lots of forest, cliffs and beaches to explore. In the winter there were very few islanders, we only saw 2-3 people each day (other than Juliet and Family when they were there). Being able to take a dip in the jacuzzi at the end of the day whilst looking out into the archipelago was really special (just make sure to turn on the jacuzzi in the morning to heat up, it takes a while in the winter!!) Unfortunately the hot water in the cabin wasn’t working when we were there but Juliet let us use the shower in the main house when there were no other guests. A few tips for future guests: - Make sure to bring food with you, there are no shops on the island - Bring a laptop to connect to the projector for films (HDMI connector) - The Cabin is 10min walk from Varholma Pier so make sure you can carry your luggage as footpaths are uneven and can be muddy. - Be aware that there are only a few ferries per day to/from Varholma from Stockholm, Boda, Lillsved or Vaxholm so give plenty of time between flights/transfers

    Tom2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Truly a special location. Don't be nervous about having to take the public ferry, it is the most unique part of the experience !

    Ian2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay! A much-needed get-away-and-enjoy-nature weekend. The jacuzzi was lovely. Juliet was incredibly accommodating and caring. Highly recommended!

  • Juliet Cabin gave us a wonderful experience. Great choice if you want getaway and do nothing but relaxing. The sea is just one meter from our door, surrounded by the sound of the waves. It must be more stunning in the summer, and don’t need to worry about the running water. We will definitely come back again.

    2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Juliets place for two nights and it was truly magical. It definitely exceeded our expectations. The cabin is very cute, right on the water, super clean and the interior is very nice. Everything you need is right there. The island is remote and beautiful and you can go swimming at any time (you can basically jump into the water right next to the house). We felt very comfortable at all times and everything was working perfectly, the kitchen, the wifi etc. We were especially surprised by Juliets communication. She replied quickly at all times and went out of her way to make our stay as nice as possible, offering advice and help with things she wouldn’t have needed to. So yeah, we totally recommend her cabin on the island and would come back for sure :)

  • Anna’s place is a tiny house right next to a natural reserve about 15 minutes by car from Stockholm. The house is super comfy away from the city noise. We had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay very much. Highly recommended for anyone who wants the best of both worlds.

  • We had a super nice stay! Perfect to visit Stockholm but still have a quiet place to be outside the big city!

  • Staying at Anna's tiny house was a dream! So cozy, exactly what we were looking for. Easy connection to Stockholm as well, but still in nature. Would highly recommend!!

  • Anna is an amazing host. The cabin is lovely, cosy and very we'll equipped. The breakfast was delicious and even gluten free on request. The area is surrounded by forest and lakes and getting to Stockholm town is totally uncomplicated. The only thing we recommend for stays in the fall and winter is to equip the cabin with warmer, thicker blankets as it can get quite cold in there. We would go back any time!

    Martin2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had very nice autumn holiday in Stockholm and Anna’s cabin provided all what we needed. It has an easy access to the National Park and it is also near to the city center. The cabin is cosy and clean and breakfast was a very nice surprise! Thank you very much Anna and the family!

    Anne-Mari2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! It was just a short drive from downtown Stockholm and we were able to park our car as we stayed. A wonderful breakfast included made mornings here very enjoyable and easy.

  • We had a perfect stay : the cabin is warm and comfy, with a very cosy scandinavian style. The view from the house and the whole property is simply magic. Varholma is a small island with no cars. We came in december and felt that we were alone, it was exactly what we wanted. In the meantime it is easily reachable from Stockholm. Juliet is very reactive and really kind. Don’t forget to brins a headlight in case you arrive at night !

Beautiful studio with private entrance. Sleeping area, dining group and sitting area directly adjacent to patio with sea view and green expanses 24 min from the city. Well equipped kitchenette, bathroom with shower and sauna and laundry room. Part of a larger villa but is privately arranged with its own entrance and patio. Fully secluded with private parking. In connection with the plot there is a footbridge to a jetty. One of Värmdö's finest sandy beaches is also a short walk from the house.
Welcome to this little archipelago bead in the shape of a completely new and beautifully decorated studio with a private entrance. Consider it your hotel with a terrace, dock and BBQ. A perfect spot for a couple or someone who simply wants to relax and get away from the noice. The space is composed by a large living room with sleeping area, dining area and sitting area directly adjacent to the patio with lake view and green expanses. Well equipped kitchenette, bathroom with shower, sauna and laundry room with plenty of storage. The apartment is part of a larger villa but is entirely private with its own entrance and patio. It is completely secluded with a private parking. The home radiates light and space with beautiful materials and high mechanical standard. All you need to do is to move in and start thriving from day one. The house is very scenically located on Värmdö at Mörtnäs, about 25 min. by bus from Slussen. Adjacent to the house is a walkway to a jetty, currently under maintainance, where you can drink your morning coffee. One of Värmdö's finest sandy beaches is also a short walk from the house, near the bus stop. My and I family live in the main part of the house, but we respect our guests and will do our utmost to be as quiet, caring and friendly as possible. We do not accept children.
There is a wonderful sandy beach a short walk (8 min) from the house, but most of our guests choose to see sights or just relax on a sunbed on the terrace. Värmdö has many lovely restaurants and cafés. The Delselius' bakery is located by the beach and bus stop, about 7 min walk. They have fresh bread and freshly baked buns, as well as Grisslige krog (restaurant) where you can have lunch by the sea. Restaurants we recommend are: Bullandö krog - located in the Bullandö marina with indoor and outdoor sitting area. Traditional kitchen. Gives you a great feeling of the archipelago. 20 mins by car. Fågelbro krog - golf clubhouse, modern and chique in a beautyful setting. Nice food with burgers, salads etc. 15 mins by car. Villa Wermdö - at Wermdö golf and Country Club. Newly refurbished resto with a nice menue and great views. 10 mins by car. Biking distance. Unfortunately, there are not many broschures on Värmdö in English. We therefore recommend to search the webb.
  • Anna’s place is absolutely gorgeous, would recommend so much to anyone who wants somewhere relaxing just outside Stockholm! The location is amazing and it’s so easy to travel to and from the town. Communication was amazing too, definitely stay here!

  • This place was perfect!! The guesthouse was clean and luxurious, the sauna was a plus, and the view was amazing. It’s about a 20-25 minute drive from Stockholm, yet you get the countryside feeling and are right on the water, plenty of deer cane to visit the yard as well. Anna was super responsive and friendly, one of the best experiences we’ve had on Airbnb. Thanks Anna, hope to come back again!

    Wayne2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay in Anna’s new equipped studio. It is a quiet and relaxing place and an excellent starting point to visit Stockholm. We particularly enjoyed to sit in the patio and watch the deer that used to browse placidly quite near. Communication with Anna was very prompt.

  • We had a very nice week in Andreas Haus. The environment is great, we enjoyed the nature and the silence. The house is at the end of a small path, the neighboring houses are not visible and so really has a very quiet place for yourself in nature. The house was very nice and lovingly equipped and has everything you need (things to cook, spices, coffee maker, dishwasher and WaMa) and a fireplace, in the evening for cosiness and warmth. The communication with Andrea was very relaxed and easy. All in all we liked it very much, we would definitely come back again!

    Janika2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • The house of Andrea is very quiet on a slope with a magical view of a small bay of the Stockholm archipelago. We were there for a couple of weeks and really enjoyed the peace, the view and the nature around us. Communication and check-in worked very well and uncomplicated. The house is small, fine and very tastefully decorated, we lacked nothing.

A cottage with fantastic panoramic views over the archipelago of Stockholm. 30 min from Stockholm by car or bus. Swim in the sea, BBQ or sunbathe on the large sun deck.
The cottage has 2 rooms and a bathroom surrounded by a large sun deck with 180 degrees sea view. The separate bedroom has a double bed and a private entrance. The other room has two single beds, a sofa and kitchenette. The bathroom inside the cottage is en suite to the separate bedroom and has an electric toilet, please note its not a flushing toilet. In addition, there is also a dry toilet outside on the sun deck. A wood burning sauna can be used for a small fee in agreement with the owner.
The location of the cottage is a perfect starting point for discovering the archipelago as well as excursions to Stockholm. It takes about 30 minutes by car or bus into Stockholm city. Alternatively you can take the bus to Gustavsberg and/or Stockholm. The bus stop is approximately 13 min walk from the cottage. The house is located in Värmdö municipality, which includes famous islands such as Sandhamn, Grinda, Svartsö, Nämdö, Runmarö and Möja. If you are planning trips out to any of the islands in the archipelago there are ferries from Vaxholm/Stavsnas. It is easiest to drive to these places, it takes approximately 30/40 min from the cottage. The area offers rich opportunities to explore the nature and visit cultural events. The cottage and grounds are not adapted for disabled people. The cottage is situated on a hill so it's quite steep on one side so might not be suitable for your child depending on age. In the neighborhood there is a small boatyard which you have to pass to get to the cottage.
  • The interior of the cottage is not very big, but everything is very well laid out and the terrace is great. We feel at home. The view is unparalleled and Kerstin (Hanna's mom) is very welcoming, watchful and accommodating.

  • We had a lovely stay in the small cabin by the water. It had all the basic necessities, and it's the perfect place to come to rest after visiting the busy stockholm center! It's close to the harbour and a supermarket, which is very helpful. The hosts respond very quickly to all questions and easily give recommendations for the island.

    Margo2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a cute little cabin right next to the water. Perfect for couples! The cabin is spacious for its size and it was very clean. We had a great stay and the communication went very well. I would recommend it anytime!

  • We had a wonderful stay at the small cottage. It is located directly at the waterline and you could see the small ferries and big cruise liner from the window. The hosts Björn and Karin were very very helpful in everything although they were not at home. Björn called us before our arrival and gave us a lot of good information. Also during our stay he told us that we could call them whenever we would have any question. A very friendly and attentive guy :-)

Charlottenberg Strand offers a genuine archipelago experience which is very rare today. The cottage "Utsikten" is offered on a large seafront property bordering a wonderful oak forest, on the south coast of Rindö island in the Stockholm archipelago.
Charlottenberg Strand is situated on a large seafront property bordering a beautiful oak forest, on the south coast of Rindö in the Stockholm archipelago. The property has over 100 meters of beach facing directly south, including a newly-built dock. Charlottenberg Strand offers accommodation in the cottage "Utsikten," on a short-term basis. "Utsikten," with 40 square meters (440 square feet), stands high above Ramsö Sound with a panoramic view directly south. "Utsikten" is best suited for up to two adults and up to two children.
  • Fantastic location and very responsive and caring hosts. The view was incredible! The house was very cozy and had a local charm to it. Well equipped.

  • A little paradise on earth :)

    Linda2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely place! We really liked the house and its beautiful surroundings. Most rooms in the house are rather small and we would probably recommend it for two or three people rather than four but the house is super cosy and fully equipped with all one could need. We were here as a couple for a week in January 2020 and had so much luck with the weather – every morning we could see a picturesque sunrise over the water from our bed and every evening we could see an even more beautiful sunset from the little verandah. January is of course a bit off the season but if you’re looking for peace and calm, while at the same time being still connected to all necessary infrastructure, this is where to go. The ferry to Vaxholm is a 24h service and goes regularly. On Rindö, Landshandel is only a short stroll away and comes in handy for shopping, For dinner we can also highly recommend Batteriet Rindö in Oskar-Fredriksborg. Last but not least, Christopher is a great host and super friendly and despite the fact that I like to always discover new places, I have the feeling that we will be back some day. Already looking forward to it.

On our premises, we have a genuine village bakery house from the 18th century. Modern standard in a country style atmosphere, with a bathroom, kitchen and sleeping loft for two. Private entrance and a veranda for evening dinners in the sun
The cabin is situated about 400 meters from the sea, and nearby good hiking tracks, beaches and the Vaxholm harbour. You can borrow bikes in the summer (new bought in May 2015) and cross country skiis in the winter. At times, the sea gets deep frozen allowing skating. Other attractions are the historical views in the vaxholm city center, the canoe rental place just 500m from the house, or the ferries taking you either OUT exploring the archipelago or IN to Stockholm city , in just 1 hour. The house is located in the Village of Ytterby, on a charming island called Resarö. We have a small beach on the south west side of the island, sun set cliffs and a nature reserve for trekking. You can easily walk or bike around the island costline to see the wooden summer houses from the beginning of the century. Vaxholm is often referred to as the "port to the Stockholm archipelago" with 23 000 island to explore. The name Vaxholm comes from Vaxholm Castle, which was constructed in 1549 on an islet with this name on the inlet to Stockholm, for defense purposes, by King Gustav Vasa. The town of Vaxholm was established in 1558, when King Gustav Vasa bought some farms from Count Per Brahe (the elder). The designated coat of arms reminds of the fortifications as well as shipping industry. In the 1880s, it became a popular spa town, and many wooded summer houses were built by people from Stockholm. It was not until 1912 that it allowed houses to be built from materials other than wood, giving the town a distinctive appearance. Check out the vaxholm website for events, video tours etc Come visit us!
  • Lovely cozy and authentic place. The furnishings, decorations and amenities are varied and plentiful, adding to the overall experience. Highly recommend a stay there.

    Fantanely2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing house with lots of original details. Even though we went in autumn time, the house was really cozy thanks to the fireplace. (Floor heating in the bathroom!) The only thing basic about this place was the stove.

    Annika2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for 4 nights in October with our one year old son and had a lovely time. The house is renovated and in great shape. Sofia and her husband has put a lot of care into making it a great place to stay. Resarö is a nice island to explore and there are good bus and boat connections to both Stockholm and the rest of the archipelago. The house is close to a good grocery store. We would love to come back in the summer time!

    Miriam2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was very easy and fast (about 1 hour) to get to the cottage by car from Arlanda airport. The check-in and -out is super easy and Sofia was very helpful! Sofia gave us a lot of tips what to do around the area and helped us with the only swedish timetables of the ferries. The small cosy and cute house is fantastic! Located in a small village you get the best of both: a perfectly equipped crocery store, to get everything you need and surrounding pure nature only a view steps away. The location is great to do trips to Stockholm and the surrounding islands. We immediatly fell in love with the cottage. We really enjoyed the oven, as we were here in the beginning of october, where the temperature tropped to 11°C. The house is equipped with everything we could think of: bikes, wood for the oven, bed sheets, towels, hairdryer... We would definitly love to visit Sofia and the small cottage again!

  • It was amazing experience! Quite and beautiful location, nature, cute and clean house! Sofia its a wonderful host! Hospitality and friendly! (Many thanks for help with wine ;) ) Highly recommend!

    Andrey2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Oh what a wonderful cottage to stay in! A great quiet spot away from the city noise and lights. It is not a place for tall folks, but offers so many amazing little details of comfort...a deck/patio, a bbq, an equipped kitchen, large bathroom and shower (and heated floor), comfortable living area with wood stove, a large bed with warm quilts, a “private” pathway to the street, and close grocery shopping and public bus. One of the best features to us was the unique history of the cottage and surrounding area.

    Wayne2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stylish and cosy place, which gives you a good overview of the vibe in the Stockholm archipelago. It is well furnished, atypical, all you need for a good break!

  • The house of Christian is very easy to reach (about 30 minutes to the city center by car and there is also a bus connection) and beautifully located on a lake. You can walk or hike from there and spend a few relaxing days. In addition, the house is very tastefully decorated and equipped with everything you need. Christian is very personable and has recommended good advice for things to do in the area. An absolute recommendation!

    Gitte Wettergren2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful house, what a wonderful area - and what a dear, happy, helpful host! We spent a wonderful, relaxing week in Christian's "tree house". Here we lacked nothing, the equipment was perfect. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom - all beautiful, comfortable, extremely comfortable and functional. The small beach on the lake with the rowing boat was the absolute highlight, in the lake you can swim very well. Christian welcomed us warmly and gave us not only many great tips, but also a pack of delicious apple juice from the apples that grow in the garden right outside the door. What can I say, we have just left and would like to go back immediately. Absolute recommendation!

    Suzanne2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday in Christian's small lakefront home. The location, the decor and the host were a dream. Christian has given us many tips for day trips, restaurants and must-do's, all of which we accepted and felt great. The house is very lovingly prepared and has a great equipment and the kitchen I would immediately take in our home;) We will be back! We hardly recommend this house!

    Patrick2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • The little house of Christian is worth a visit. It is equipped with everything you need with a love of detail and beautiful things. We enjoyed our week so much - the view of the lake and the large garden has wonderfully relaxed. We will be back.

  • Wonderful small house in an amazing setting in the Stockholm archipelago. Well equipped, warm and comfortable. Christian was a great host. If you don’t have your own transport the house is 30 minutes walk from Gustavsberg although there is a limited bus service to town. From Gustavsberg it is an easy 30 minute bus ride to central Stockholm and buses leave every 10 minutes. We would love to return and are happy to recommend this house.

  • Live the Swedish dream! Very cozy scandinavian cottage with all the amenities and a beautiful seaview , went for runs in the morning found good walking treks always close to the coast line and your only 15min away from Vaxholm by boat. The couple who hosted us were super helpful and kind, arranging pickup and giving us a guided tour. You have to try Göran's home baked cinnamon role and rye bread. Cant wait to come back in summer time.

  • Super accommodation! Göran received us at the ferry and showed us around the island. It turned out then that Göran was a baker and we could order fantastic bread from him for breakfast. Recommended!

    Johan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice reception - and really affordable!

    Markus2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • In every way we recommend this cozy and peaceful accommodation that has everything we wanted and a little more. The host couple were fantastic! They were always at hand and more than happy to help when needed, they were informative and very pleasant. An added luxury was that you could order freshly baked bread from Göran. Not to mention the smell of freshly baked if you were up early. Mmm ... The island of Ramsö is a gem for those who want peace and quiet and want to enjoy the Stockholm archipelago nature. Since there is no business, you need to think about having what you need. On the other hand it can be nice with the short boat trip to Waxholm where you can shop - if you stay here for a little longer. In addition, the host couple has thought of, so that the accommodation includes much of the basics (such as sheets, towels, soap, shampoo, salt and pepper) so that you do not have to bring more than necessary. Yes, we were thrilled here and we will be more than happy to return :-)

Beach-front house in the center of Stockholm's archipelago with magnificent sea views. The property size and location gives a level of privacy almost like a private island, but with regular ferry access daily! The house was finished in 2008, so all facilities are modern. Highlights include outdoor jacuzzi, fireplace, BBQ, annex house on the beach and real WC – a luxury on these islands. Private jetty with spacious lounge furniture offers relaxing days by the water when weather allows.
Bedroom 1 is a separate bedroom with walk-in closet, while bedroom 2 is connected to the living room, separated by drapes. Bedroom 3 is a stand-alone house directly on the beach. Additional beds might be possible to arrange on request. Since the house is built on a cliff and the island has rather rough terrain, we do not recommend renting this house if anyone in the group has a physical impairment. It is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Don't hesitate to get in touch if there are any questions or special requests. We will be happy to help if we can.
A cosy island letting you escape from the busy city life. No cars, restaurants or shops, means you need to plan your logistics a bit. Luckily the infrastructure in this area of the archipelago is great. Sweden's leading on-line grocery store (MatHem.se) delivers groceries by boat directly to your private pier during high season. Delivery cost has been around $35 and you need to order before 1 pm the day prior to delivery. The closest sea-side restaurants are 5-10 mins away at Linanäs and Grinda if you have your own boat or want to take a taxi boat trip. Obviously there is a lot more to discover in the archipelago if you're curious and we will be glad to assist.

Amazing magic place to land in. I just moved in to this small home but grand living. So close to Stockholm’s beautiful nature and the arcipelago. A sweet, simple, nurturing tiny home:) It is located 30-40 min with bus from the center, 20 min by car. Here you can relax, sit on the wooden deck in the morning sun with your coffee or tea. Wash your clothes, cook some food, rejuvenate. This house invites stillness, yoga and meditation. A great space for getting inspiration and be creative Welcome!
The winter is so beautiful in my area right now! Celebrate Christmas in nature. The Gem is like an embrace. A slow and simple home... The house is 37 m2 in total, with one loft high in ceiling. Kitchen, bathroom/toilet with laundry machine and dryer, entrance space. Living room/sleeping space in the loft. The smaller house is private for now:) A wooden deck combines the two house bodies and is a nice area to relax on, do yoga, meditate, listen to nature. My home invites simplicity, relaxation, mindfulness, minimalism, self love, self care, creativity. U will have the house for yourself.
Gustavsberg known for it’s porcelain. A lot of abundant nature with forests, lakes, hiking possibilities. We have a restaurant down in Velamsund, a nature area 2 km from The Gem.
  • This place is indeed a gem! Highly recommend it ! Stina went above and beyond as a host to make us feel welcome, provided us with delicious breakfast, and help us make our stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible. It was the perfect spot for a cozy getaway in nature, but still conveniently close to the city. The space is clean and stylish and very inviting, especially for those interested in yoga and meditation. There are great trails to walk and lakes very close by (no need for a car). It was exactly the recharging we needed to get through a busy time. Thank you for a great stay!

  • If you’re looking for a cosy place to stay, a home away from home and a fabulous host, look no further than this gem! Stina was a fabulous host, instant replies and responded to everything we needed to know. We stayed as 2 couples, one couple in the smaller house, and another in the larger house, and it worked perfectly. The house welcomes you instantly, and is filled with gorgeous trinkets and an all round positive vibe. The house is around 20 minutes from the city, with no nearby shops, so a car is desirable. Consider staying here, for the price, you can’t get much better! Thanks for a lovely stay.

    Kate2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We so much enjoyed our stay in Stina's super cosy tiny home! It was a wonderful week that was very relaxing. Nearby you find places to go kayaking, sailing, and the artipelago museum. Stina's recommendations for nearby restaurants are excellent as well!

  • We had three nights at Mariannes little cottage and it was a wonderful stay. Marianne was very thought- and helpful. The cottage was clean and cozy.

  • I just asked my six year old to describe our stay in Marianne's cabin and he said it was "brilliant, amazing, incredible, super incredible, ultra amazing and ultra incredible". So yes, he and his one year old brother loved it, but so did we. This is a lovely little cabin with lots of thoughtful touches that make it feel like a (small!) home from home. Resaro feels far from the city but is easy to get to, and the owner's warm welcome really added to our stay.

  • Living in Marianne's cottage, which is on her plot, was incredibly lovely. Here there is respite and peace! Close to Ica, close to the water and greenery. It is a small gold grain and will definitely recommend and come back! Marianne is an incredibly caring and nice host! The cottage is in good condition and perfect for a short stay!

  • Excellent, totally recommended. The cabin is really cozy and clean and has everything you may need. The garden is awesome, lots of birds and flowers, and next to the sea, a big supermarket, bus stop, boat... Absolutely perfect. Resaro is a very nice and quiet place. You can walk to Vaxholm (1 hour), by boat or bus in 10-15 min... And is also really easy to go to Stockholm. Very good transport frequencies and always on time (I love Sweeden!) You can easyly visitit many islands from Vaxholm. We went to the beautiful Grinda and Sandhamn, both highly recommended. Marianne is the perfect host: very kind and always smiling. She picked us up when we arrived to the island by boat and offered lots of info and advices. Always available if we needed anything, but respecting our privacy. Great experience, hope to go again! Thank you, Marianne!

Cozy, spacious room with its own private bathroom and fireplace in a large, luxurious villa in beautiful, historic Resarö, Vaxholm. Access to our kitchen, leafy outdoor spaces, large sunny porch and heated swimming pool.
Resarö is an island in the Stockholm archipelago, part of Vaxholm, a quaint historic village that is known as the "capital of the archipelago".
The villa is located on a quiet road with virtually no traffic, and features a large, well-appointed garden. The bus stop is a 5 minute walk, as are the fresh waters of the archipelago with numerous spots for bathing.
  • Helen and Bela were very kind and respect also my privacy and the time I needed for my study and my master thesis I was writing at the time. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed.

  • A quiet and peaceful place with nice hosts.

  • I stayed for three months due to an internship at SU and had a beautiful time :) Helen and Bela are wonderful hosts who made me feel home right from the beginning (Helen even picked me up from the airport!). They are very kind and inspirational people (with two adorable dogs) whom I had very nice conversations with, and at the same time they always respected my privacy when I needed it. As shown in the description/ on the pictures, the room itself is cozy and well equipped with everything you need and has a private entrance and bathroom. I also had an own fridge, electric kettle, a small washing machine (although Helen offered me to use theirs as well) and various household items when I arrived (towels, toothpaste, soap, toilet paper, tea/coffee,...). The beautiful kitchen was shared and spacious (so preparing different meals simultaneously never posed a problem) - I was free to use all their kitchenware (pans, pots, cutlery, plates..) and even their spices. I could also take their lunch boxes to work. The area is very beautiful and rather quiet, which I really enjoyed. There's a supermarket (ICA) just a few minutes walk away from the accomodation, directly at the bus stop. During rush hours in the morning and afternoon, the busses run ~every 15 minutes and ~every 30 minutes at other times. It took me around 40 minutes to SU and 50 minutes to the city center. Helen and Bela let me use one of their SL cards so I didn't need to buy a new one when I arrived and Helen drove me to Vaxholm so I could charge it. I'm very grateful for their hospitality and kindness and really enjoyed my stay!

  • Large and cozy room, good distance to bus, very nice hosts!

  • Very nice location, comfy and clean room. We stayed with our little child for 3 nights, we had our private space, nice surroundings and we did swim quite a lot as in pool as in sea nearby. Thank you!!!

  • My friend came to visit me from Paris. I so wanted to impress him and I can only say that the mission was accomplished! Helen and Bela were so kind and really easy to talk to. They made us feel at home immediately. Helen helped us out every time we needed anything and gave us tips all the time about what to visit. We had free acess to the kitchen and if we needed anything extra ... Helen would make us use her pantry!! The room was super clean with a bathroom with all the accessories and products such as shampoo, conditioner, soaps, shower cream ... and of course toilet papers and individuals towels. We also got an extra bed since we were two. Both beds were very comfortable. We had our own refrigerator where we found milk, orange juice and butter! The pool was clean and heated...amazing!!!! Very good location, surrounded by nature and close to the beach, to busstations to go to waxholm ( the main island) and to a supermarket. We really had a relaxing time and could not hope for better hosts! Helen , Bela .... thank you !!

  • We stayed for a week and loved it! The cabin is beautiful and clean and has everything you need. It’s a peaceful location and close to a lake where we saw a moose! This is a perfect place to explore Stockholm and the archipelago islands. We had day trips to Sandhamn, Grinda, Vaxholm (using the car ferries), Uto, Bjorno nature reserve and Artipelag. Sara & Paul are so friendly and helpful - lending bikes to us and our kids, recommending great places to eat and to visit. We’d love to go back!

    Matt2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Great house! Many excursions possible ... Sara and Paul and their kids are so cute! And we even had a moose in the garden

  • A lovely holiday home. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable with everything we needed. Great tips with ideas of what to do and see. Super location too. Thanks so much Sara and Paul.

  • Lovely place in the nature but it's also easy to reach. Cabin is very clean. We loved the brightness in the living room/kitchen and the evenings on the terrace. We were there with two children (4 and 6 years old) and it was useful to have a car, but it is not necessary as the bus connections are very good. We went to Stockholm by bus (until Slussen) and is was very easy. We did not use the app for the ticket but the blue card that you can buy and charge at the post office of the Coop in front of the nearest bus stop. In the cabin ist a very helpful information folder with all you need. The contact to Sara and Paul was very friendly. Thank you so much for recommend us the isalnd Grinda. Grinda is our favourite place in Värmdö. Three is a lot of nature. We are sure to come back next year in summer!

  • Modern and comfortable house in a great location in the countryside. Ideal for relaxing as well as trips to the archipelago or to Stockholm. We recommend.

    Roger2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Sara's! The place is magical, very well placed for those who want to taste the happiness of the Swedish forest while being a short drive from the center of Stockholm. Everything is done so that the stay goes in the best conditions, there is everything necessary to cook and in the bathroom, and the bedding is very good! There is a filing cabinet with very good activities to do in the surroundings, to follow with closed eyes! To recommend to all nature lovers, we saw a squirrel almost every morning and a deer gave us the pleasure of spending a few minutes in front of the terrace ...

    Laure2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great spacious and quiet place in nature. With deer hopping around near the terrace:)

I vissa högtrafikerade tider även 20 min i varje heltimme. Trots många fasta boende känns ön väldigt lugn och gemytlig. De närmsta grannarna samt ägarna är alla delvis boende på ön och annan adress. Men sommartid är så klart de flesta ute och njuter av den svenska sommaren.
  • Wonderful place right on the water. Incredibly nice house with all amenities, and many nice patios in all weathers. Nice decor, and really nice and well equipped kitchen. A wonderful place, whether it is raining or if the weather is brilliant! The sauna was super nice.

  • We enjoyed our stay very much for many reasons! This location is amazing and you can tell that Ann & Leif have created something unique and beautiful, unlike any other place we have been to. The house and the surroundings have been carefully curated to truly bring a Swedish archipelago feeling to any visitor. Both Ann and Leif were super friendly and responsive and generous in their approach. We cant wait to visit this place again!

  • Very beautiful, charming and spacious house right by the sea. The ideal vacation site for families or a group of friends. Equipped with everything we needed and much more. Every room was furnished with love, taste , and a good sense for nice details. Very comfortable beds. Also very, very clean! The house provides a unique island feeling but it is also close to shopping facilities on the mainland. Ann & Leif were lovely and very friendly hosts who always made sure we had everything we needed. We are already planning to come back. Thank you very much for everything, Ann & Leif!

    Rita2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • First of all a big thank you to Ann & Leif. This stay was the most wonderful airbnb experience that every single one of us 5 has had. Ann and Leif were so welcoming and nice from the moment we arrived. When Leif showed us the house, we could not believe its beauty. One can really feel all the love, passion and hours of work they must have put to retouch this house. The house comes with different balconies/terraces and so many corners to sit outside and enjoy the sun (if there is), that it was almost tricky to decide where to have the breakfast in the morning. We were a group of 5 and we spent 2 nights there. Even though we wished we could have stayed longer, we made most of our time there: we used the lovely sauna and jumped into the very cold water afterwards, read books in the sun and had nice bbq´s. Since we all know Stockholm and most of us had been to Waxholm already, we decided to stay in the house and just enjoy and relax. If you plan a vacation like this, make sure you bring all the food and drinks you need for your stay. I don´t know where there next supermarket is (but probably not very close) ;) Arriving and leaving by the public transport ferry and the island but that is part of Stockholms public transport SL was very easy. The ferry ride takes 1 - 1,5 h from Stockholm and then there should be a bus waiting for you after arrival. We used google maps or the SL app to figure out how to arrive and get back to Stockholm. I really hope we can go back to Anns & Leifs house in the future and I wish you all a great stay there!

  • We had a truly lovely time staying at Ann and Leif's home. One can not say enough about the accommodations as they are truly wonderful and so beautifully decorated. We felt as if we were staying in a 17th-century museum. The beds were comfortable, kitchen well stocked, very clean, and sauna was perfect. The only thing I didn't quite grasp from the description was there is only one bathroom in the main house- the other bathroom is with the sauna but very close to the house. Not only was the house perfect, but both Ann and Leif were very helpful and accommodating with our needs. They went up and beyond making sure our time there went well. We were there for 3 full days- we hung out at the house for 2 days and then visited Vaxholm for 1 day as well. The bus and ferry is easy to do- once you figure it out. :) One thing I would say- is those ferry can sneak up on you and they dock and leave within seconds- so be prepared to jump on or off. Note there is really nothing else to do on the island- we did walk the length of it, but it was just on the main road as houses are all built along the coastline. The home is placed on a lovely piece of property with a perfect dock and beach so we didn't need much else to do. We brought all our needed food the first night and cooked at the house. If you need some downtime I can't recommend this place more.

  • I brought a group of overseas friends to Ann & Leif's house to experience the archipelago and rarely have I heard so many "oooh" and "wooow" as when we arrived and explored all the cute rooms and idyllic view! The house has terraces in all directions, including a big one with a barbecue where we enjoyed dinner with some evening sun, and ample social areas for eating, lounging and private talks. Also the kitchen is large and works great for a big group. The icing on the cake, however, was to take a trip with the rowing boat. All in all, I can highly recommend this place and would like to visit again.

    Fredrik2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Leif and Ann‘s house, which is in a beautiful, tranquil location but easily reachable by ferry. We were provided with suggestions where to celebrate midsommar and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We would be happy to come back. Thank you, Leif & Ann!

    Isabel2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was beyond our already high expectations. The house is not only beautifully situated by the water, but impeccably clean, thoughtfully decorated and utterly charming. It is very spacious and well equipped and the beds were very comfortable! We spend a wonderful sunny weekend with friends at the house, but would probably have been just as well off inside on a rainy day - just being in the rooms was a treat. I can’t recommend it enough!
