It hosts the largest collection of birds in the world, a lot of serpents, rare animals of Greece and Africa, all in specially shaped areas that resemble their natural environment. “The museum was founded in 1986 in order to house the collection of Cycladic and Ancient Greek art belonging to Nicholas and Dolly Goulandris. Starting in the early 1960s, the couple collected Greek antiquities, with special interest in the prehistoric art from the Cyclades islands of the Aegean Sea. The Museum's main building, erected in the centre of Athens in 1985, was designed by the Greek architect Ioannis Vikelas. In 1991, the Museum acquired a new wing, the neo-classical Stathatos Mansion at the corner of Vassilissis Sofias Avenue and Herodotou Street.”

Hotel Bar
$$$
“Galaxy Bar is the Hilton’s iconic rooftop bar and offers fantastic city views as well as expertly made cocktails. Throughout the year, the bar is a meeting spot for locals as well as visitors, and the atmosphere is luxurious without being intimidating or pretentious. Drinks are expertly made though on the more costly side for drinks in Athens. Get there to watch the sunset, and then enjoy watching the city at night. Cable Car
“The world's strangest train. It leaves from the top of Ploutarch street in Kolonaki. Some people walk up but I think the effect is more spectacular when you go on what they call the Funicular Railway. If you have kids this is the way to go. It's like a ride at an amusement park...sort of. It costs about 2 euro each way and you can buy r/t tickets but the walk down is easy and you can choose which part of Athens you want to end up in.”
