“ Blue Bottle has the best all around coffee experience in the area. The drinks are delicious, staff professional, setting is clean and modern. The cappuccinos are basically perfect. Waffles are also good. It's in downtown Berkeley so there's not a lot of parking and you might see a few homeless people. ”

Food
“I've tried several flavors and loved each one so far. The popcorn is always fresh, made In-house, and sold with a smile. My personal favorites includes the cheddar+chili lime mix (lovingly called the "Oakland mix" because so many people request that combo), Sea-salt caramel, horchata, as well as regular kettle corn.”

“You know Peet's. It's here and it has competition from several good coffee houses in Berkeley. There is a Peet's in the 4th Gourmet Ghetto and another on the Shattuck Ave Gourmet Ghetto. Take your pick.”

Vegetarian / Vegan Restaurant

“For my veggie-loving guests, I'm told (by other veggie-loving guests), that this is good Asian style food in Oakland's own Chinatown. Other good veggie/vegan options include the Golden Lotus on 13th and Franklin in Oakland. There's also the Herbivore or Chaya in Berkeley. See Google for menus, locations, and hours.”
