“The 32 acre park was created in 1957. The main attraction is the lighthouse, which you can climb to the lightkeepers catwalk. From this lofty perch there are wonderful views of LBI, the Atlantic Ocean, Barnegat Bay, Barnegat Inlet and Island Beach State Park. Besides the lighthouse people come to the park to walk, birdwatch, learn about maritime history and fish.”

“OK we hate to admit this but we counted and this place is three hundred slightly drunken steps from the inlet to the top of our beach street! You can even hang on to the chain link beach fence and guide your way back. Hahaha. This place serves food, liquor and there's an ice cream store there as well!”

Park
“Double Trouble State Park offers an outstanding example of the Pine Barrens ecosystem and a window into the Pine Barrens history. The park provides the protection and interpretation of over 8000 acres of significant natural, cultural, and recreational resources representative of the Pinelands National Reserve. Its location and resource base afford an opportunity to introduce visitors to southern New Jersey's natural and cultural heritage. Both the natural environment, consisting of a high quality Pine Barrens watershed, and an extremely well preserved historic village associated with New Jersey cranberry agriculture and Atlantic White Cedar logging and milling industries are available”
